004public education my son remains home for the time being because he did not feel comfortable in the middle school my purpose of speaking here tonight is to ask the board how you will be implementing changes that the new jersey sexual education standards will be mandated started in december what curriculum will be used to satisfy the new standards will it be a health class only or is it going to be sprinkled throughout the subject is there an opt-out option for gender theory social emotional learning and sexual education i've read the new standards in full and have also read the sample lesson plans that were given to westfield residents at their board moving earlier this year and i'm disgusted have you read the standards for the sample of lesson plans do you think it's appropriate to teach
005elementary school kids gender identity to tell children that just because they have the parts of a girl does not mean they are a girl these are developmentally inappropriate lessons no child should be concerned about their gender identity or sexual orientation if they are you have failed them gender theory is just that a theory it's not a proven fact it's you're perverting children's brains has most can't discern between fact and theory especially when being taught the concept in school these are college-level concepts not k through 12. and what about the masturbation and porn do you agree with elementary students being taught that let me ask you have you all watched porn do you masturbate how often do you masturbate do you think that's appropriate for our kids in elementary school would you be willing to answer

013viewpoints online as well as the community forum called me a transphobe or racist which couldn't be farther from the truth since i myself as a member of the lgbt community i find that rude we're not supposed to be here attacking each other just because we have different points of view so i'm asking that that she uh let it know because we're looking for people to be all inclusive of everyone and that includes points of views not just based on race and uh political beliefs so that's what i'm uh asking the board members here tonight because i'm one of the representative in this community as well not just uh people who have one political affiliation um and i realize that everybody is here to uh you know said that you're here as volunteers and i appreciate
014that but i want to be represented as part of this meeting as well my daughters and i have been here i've been here for 21 years i've never had any interest in being involved until i noticed some transparency issues going on in board so that's why i felt the need to get involved and now with the community curriculum issues coming on i have a very concerned about that especially when parental rights have been an issue recently and given the transgender policy 5756 where kids can change their gender and their names without parental knowledge and consent it can do that and also does not require any mental health diagnosis as being a licensed medical clinician and again a member of the community that is my concern i would never put my beliefs on everyone else and

016and i'm embarrassed to be perfectly honest because there's a lot that has happened and um and i don't think that we're concentrating on what we need to so at our last board meeting we talked about our scores on our standardized testing we saw that there are a number of children who are more than two grade levels behind on their math and reading we saw that there are a number of students who don't know their basic geometry because we don't have the right amounts of time to teach it i have gotten tons of emails with varying political opinions about who should and who shouldn't be on the board and what people are saying about each other on social media i have not gotten one email that says i have this suggestion about how we could do
017something better how we could support our teachers more how we can support our administrators and make sure that they have the room to grow so so i'm embarrassed because we've lost focus and i'm concerned for this community i'm concerned honestly for us as a broader community in america because i think that we're losing focus of what we need to do and how we need to grow and we're getting distracted by things like that are small parts of our curriculum that aren't going to make the difference whereas we're not paying enough attention to teaching our children the basics of how to grow how to think how to become good citizens for this country so so what i want to do is moving into the future is anybody who has suggestions about how we can do a
