0012021 training demo agenda um mrs watson can open it just like normal and we will we will do the salute to the flag and then we'll do roll call um so i guess you know whatever you would like to start and lisa and trisha may help us if we get a little bit sidetracked right yes okay so right now we should do it right just start like a normal pursuant to the open public meeting act public notice of this meeting has been given by the board secretary in the following manner pursuant to the open public meetings in public and public and information posting notice posting written notice on the official bulletin board at the vorhees township public schools administrative building on july 26 2021 and august 24 2021 sending written notice to the courier post

on july 26 2021 and august 24 2021 filing written notice with the clerk of vorhees township on july 26 2021 and august 24 2021 posting written notice on the district website on july 26 2021 please rise for this salute to the flag [Music] pledge and to the allegiance for which to stand one nation under god indivisible with liberty each other [Music] okay mr bryce mrs casenza dr fault dr faulk said that he would be arriving late miss galiano galliano had notified us that she had a work commitment and would not be here tonight dr levy here mr schmooze mrs wallace here mrs van aaken here mrs watson here the next item will be the minutes okay so we're gonna so if you click on the minutes then there's a tab that opens up and then

there's a tab that says motion so you would click on the tab that says motion and you can read it there and then if you click on the wording it'll come up with a second the first and the second if you click on the no no yeah where do you see a motion tab yeah there's no rush okay maybe it's in our room reread the motion and just say i would like a second of you know i would like someone to make a motion a second then i will log that in okay i'd like uh can will someone make a motion to approve the minutes as presented all right so on my screen i see a bye and i see a second so i have mrs wallace as the first and i have mr schmooze

as the second in the fake one yes no apparently not okay apparently not um so then we can take rooney i'm sorry because we're in the demo like we're in the democratic environment yeah okay we would see it a button shows up on my screen that says take vote so what i do is i click on take vote and i think at this point it should appear on your screen is that correct or it won't because it's a demo it should oh i'm sorry i have to click on open on i'm sorry open online voting so i believe now it should show up yes yes okay good right yeah are we here um did you see it yeah you got it okay should we all vote a different way you can i have oh yeah

you guys can all vote however you wish to vote this is this is all just pretend here okay you can change your vote while voting is open so what will happen in the future is there's an option to put a screen up there and to show the voting live we're not there yet we're still learning so right now everybody's voting um it seems like everyone is done so i think what i will do at this point is i would just read off the votes so everyone knows so mr bryce says yes mrs casenza yes dr falk is absent dr levy yes mr schmooze no mrs wallace yes mrs van aaken abstain seen mrs watson no so then i would have to say motion carried or not or whichever so that's how that would work and

then i would close well before i read it i probably would hit close online voting so that way people can't change oh yeah now there's something weird that happens when i keep clicking this and it's coming up dictionary thesaurus i don't know why but anyway it logged them in so that's good and then it changed for us it changed you saw like a little red you can't change your vote anymore okay good okay all right and then some things maybe like a motion to adjourn we do first and second and there's an option where i can click mark unanimous and we just click it and everybody says yes do you manage me so that's that so now if you want to go to the next and found talent i'm sorry yeah yeah so everyone can

see there's a little word bubble in the right upper right hand side of the screen that's where you can annotate just for you you are the only person who can see anything that you write on their notes for yourself that sort of thing but please remember that's operable so anything that you write on there and it stays it is um subject to the open public meetings act right that's cool okay so then the next section sorry the next section is fire drill safety drills okay so you want me to do okay you can say something about that um fire drills and safety drills and then just keep going their information items okay you'll just announce it okay another information item harassment intimidation bullying report and then on the sample one we don't have anything in

the next few sections and then it goes down to audience participation so that's 10.1 and if i click on that it's open at this point so with audience participation there's a timer since our policy states that audience members of the audience can speak for three minutes we have a timer feature on here oh nice so we would click on that and that way it's fair and it's timed at three minutes um whenever we have the screen in the future it would have it right up there so people would see that you know the three minute time frame yeah so that's there and notes can be entered here or names of people the other thing we did is we added a podium because what we found in the past is people would speak from the audience

and they wouldn't be on on the screen for people to see and we also didn't always catch the person's name because sometimes it's very hard to hear or distinguish so at the podium we put a sheet of paper that where you can write your name and your address and that way we have the name and also i think there's a spot for your email because sometimes people say i have a question i would like an answer later and you can put the email there so that way they can be contacted all right so then there's the board comments and again so will you be monitoring the time and telling or or will that come up on my screen because i don't let me hit it and we'll see let me go back to the audience

station and we'll see let me click on three minute things i'm clicking on it actually [Music] it's not it's not working on this right now okay i don't know if it'll work on the real meeting or not but right now it's this feature it's not working or not okay i just want to know so i'm gonna keep track so i if i need to do it on myself okay i would still do that for now okay then there's the board member comments then i guess let's go down to the policy section so policy is 13.1 and what i see on my screen is just it shows a tab for motion again and i don't does that show up on yours no the motion does not show up on there lisa well they can see the

motion when they open they click on it when you click on that see it's this motion to approve items under policy but there's no buttons yeah but not that's okay i have to read your thoughts you would read can i have a motion okay can i have a motion to approve all the items under policy and then i would have to click on this and so somebody would make a motion second with dawn and rachel let's define the name i'll get faster okay so then i click on take vote and i don't know why this comes up like this okay take i start online voting and now it should appear for you guys to vote nope yeah oh there it goes there we go it takes a minute okay it appears that everyone voted so

i'm not going to do this again but what i would do is i would read off every one just so everyone knows how people voted um if we could jump ahead to item 14 personnel if you could go to 14.1 well let me get out of this i didn't if we go to 14.1 personnel mrs watson if you could say the motion part of that one i have a motion to approve can i have a motion to approve all the items under personnel so what happens there is there are several items that we have three items well actually two real items under personnel it seems in the sample one there's item 14.2 and 14.3 so one of them is employment of certificated staff one of the other is retirements so the way this is set

up right now the template is we would have to vote on every single item and that's usually not how we do it you know like we look at them all but we'll say can i have a motion to approve personnel items so what lisa did is she added the first item that says selection approval personnel meaning the whole personnel section so once we have the motion for that and then mrs watson can say can i have a first i have a second discussion maybe there's a discussion maybe there's not then you'll say roll call and so then what i'll do is i will click on this i'll click on take the vote i'll click on open online voting now suppose when i do this somebody decides i want to vote no on number two 14.2

okay no okay so okay so people can vote and mrs van alken voted no so what i will then do after everybody votes i'll say all the names that voted yes and i'll say i have two no's uh could i ask those individuals what they voted no on they'll need those items to register what they voted no on because i mean here there's only two items but some of them there could be like 10 items so at that point rather than voting on every single item we're voting on the whole section and then i'll go back and ask for clarification of the no votes and then i'll find that item and i'll just click no i guess on there either that or i'll write it on my tally sheet because that might be faster right

now i'm not sure so we'll figure that part out um later i think uh board docs can change our template to more reflect what we want to do but right now this is how it is all right so then i would close the online voting so just so everybody i'm not sure if everybody heard before we're gonna do can i have a motion um and then second and then discuss because if we want to discuss anything we can't do it onward back so that's how we'll do each motion and that way too like when you're voting like i won't know who to call to say anything because you're all voting at the same time yeah that's good okay so then you know it keeps going down to new business you see that there's three items

under new business same kind of thing it's the whole section approval the meeting dates is just information and like you can always when you click on it you can look at content to see if there's any content again audience participation same thing they would have the three minutes there would be words that you would read before that and then the finance section same thing i would click on motion do we want to do it again yeah okay so if you could do the finance section that's 20.1 okay can i get a motion to approve all of the items under finance jason and marisa okay online voting has opened like are you seeing everything too i'm not getting your stuff but i'm not voting so if somebody wants to vote no we'll try that again okay

i'm going to close online voting and the roll call is mr bryce yes mrs cosenza yes dr levy no mr schmooze no mrs wallace yes this is van aaken yes mrs watson yes i have two no votes so i will ask dr levy and mr smooth and i'll have to figure out how to remember this so if i go let's see let me think now if i go under finance then i guess that's see that's a little bit of a tricky part i have to actually remember who did it to go back and see what night okay so i'm just trying to write on peace and you can't just click on 20.2 and change the vote well let me maybe that's a good point let me try that now i have to save it so

i'll lose who the people are so let me leaving and schmooze just for my own things yeah i'll forget whatever works for you okay so if i get to the bill list i would say okay sorry dr levy can you tell me which item you're voting no on uh okay mr schmooze can you tell me which item you voted no on transfer thank you so does that sound all right to do it that way yeah yeah okay so then what i would have to do is i'd have to go into bill list take a few seconds here um now the thing is i don't know if it see it's going to make me put us first and a second again which kind of slows down the process they have to go do that so do

you want to just take notes on the nose and then change it in the system after i might because i mean already i forgot who first and second i already forgot yeah i can't keep all that yeah all right so i think that's probably what i'll have to do i'll write down finance and then i'll write it down here and that way i'll go back in later and put it in okay that'll work okay so let me get out of that and i guess then the next one is adjournment and we would that one is where you can ask for the motion for environment okay can i get a motion to adjourn the meeting second and at that point we could do it unanimous if you wanted to you could say yeah all those in

favor and then i would just click mark unanimous and it would record everybody and well you know what still maybe do the online i still have to open the online oh during the meeting yes okay and then i click i guess i have to show you guys okay so i click online i'm clicking mark unanimous and then i'll close it because that way you get to see it so i think that's okay okay so i guess that's a whole practice session i guess that's cool is everybody good with that yeah everybody's okay good question after this meeting it goes online and gets downloaded whatever whatever happens will our votes be uh in those examples yes so lisa can you come back on any agenda weeks from now and say go on whatever it'll be like

so lisa can tell you how that works um so if we were to vote on every motion individually then that would already be recorded in board docs and we wouldn't have to do anything as far as the voting goes but because we do our voting a little bit differently and they're working on trying to come up with maybe an easier system for us but for now we'll have to go in tomorrow if there's any no voting going on tonight or abstaining we'll have to go in tomorrow and pull those out and change them that would be the only thing that we will ever do with the voting and then from there the minutes will actually look very similar to what you're seeing tonight the paper copies that you have the only difference is that we

will make a copy print all of the attachments and like we always do and that's what we'll go into our minute book so you're still printing but online when you go to access minutes online um it'll look like this except we'll have those attachments scanned in so it's all together in one place some districts don't do that they just post the minutes the way board docs makes them and it doesn't include any attachments and in order to see the attachments you actually have to go back to the agenda which to me beats the purpose of making this more streamlined so it's not that difficult for us to cut and paste the entire thing into a new document scan in all the attachments and then redo it yep yeah it'll won't take that long so anyway

that's the plan we'll see how it happens tomorrow but that's what we're planning on nobody vote no [Music] does anybody else have any more questions about this or want to try anything again or what do you think everybody's okay yeah so can you just just you said you'll have to go in there and right so helen will go back and she'll say mrs wallace you didn't know which which yeah which one did you write and you'll say 14.4 and then that's the one that will put no for you yes okay but hopefully our template can be changed so that way there's another way to address what we need to just type in or something yeah we have to find out so i mean this is not totally unique how we do it because in my

other district we did it that way too you know we voted normal section it's just that on here there's districts throughout the whole country and they may not do it that way and so it would take a long time to vote on every single item that we could just say yes except two well i guess i wonder like when they're you know there's that little note section yeah i wonder if there could be only they but only they can see it oh we can't see it even i can't see it as a super user i wonder okay i have a question then i think there's a section for action comments what if i wrote it in that could be let me go let me go to that i'll i'm going to go back to like

finance only you see that well i don't i don't know let me just maybe there is there a way that when you vote right that's what i'm and that's one of the that was one of the questions we asked them um if they could add something right for us to make it a little bit easier yeah now i see like i don't know i didn't i don't know if this will happen after i voted but when i click on finance approval section i have three tabs summary comments motion content so i go to the motion and i do what we did just did but i wonder if i went back to summary and comments if i could just write it in there under action comments yeah you could you could write it but i i

think what dawn's asking is if there is a way when they vote no they could say just say no on 14.4 yeah i don't know yeah we have to reply that part yeah so i guess if we're done we can't start the rest of the meeting until 7 30. correct so i mean if everybody's done i think what we would just do is we would recess for a minute right right and then when dr focus gets here maybe we could just run run through you could be his his board doc's buddy kelly thank you so we would just i think reason we don't adjourn restart the meeting okay do you make a motion for me um what do you think lisa yes frank frank yeah can she just recess the meeting without emotion does she

make a motion to recess yeah we should make a motion to resist the meeting until 7 30. can i get a motion to recess the meeting until 7 30 pm thank you uh roll call mr bryce yes mrs casanza dr levy yes mr schmooze yes mrs wallace yes this is van ocken yes mrs watson yes uh okay the meeting was originally called to order at 6 32 we did a training during the open public meeting section we then adjourned at 6 53 and we've been in recent recess since that time it is now 7 30 and i'm calling the meeting back on we have already saluted the flag and done roll call so we will get right into the agenda please all bear with us we are learning a new system tonight and tonight is

the first night that we are putting it all in action so there may be some hiccups please just bear with us no no we can not do the minutes okay can i get a motion to approve the minutes of june 14th 2021 okay i will now open the online voting [Music] all board members have voted yes so you unanimously approved the minutes so i will close online voting and save the minutes so i've already forgotten my head i want to welcome everybody that is here we have a nice audience uh in the room and then all of our people who are online um i hope everybody rested and relaxed and rejuvenated over the summer um i know that i needed it i'm sure that most of you needed it given we're all still unfortunately it's

still dealing with covid i'm so excited that we get to start a full day back in school i know our teachers are excited our students are excited i know our parents are excited so i want to say thank you thank you to all of the staff as they get ready to prepare for all of the students that are coming in and i want to say thank you to all of you for being patient and working together with us as we get through a second year of covid um but we will get through and we will um we will be resilient so i'll move into the information items 5.1 fire drills and safety drills um as shown on the attached documents if you have any comments yeah that's simply our monthly uh fire drills that we

do whether they're students in the building or not it's required by law and our hiv reports our second information item is harassment intimidation and bullying report there are no items under communications next up is the board secretary report thank you listed under the board secretary's report is our two items the summer projects and the free reduced lunch under summer projects the board members have received an attachment that lists all of the summer projects that our maintenance department worked on they had a very very busy summer and many of these things are routine or required maintenance and we also had a lot of construction projects this document will also be uploaded to our website in the future near future some of the items that they worked on are replace ceiling tiles the classrooms were emptied floors

stripped and waxed carpets extracted the custodians detailed all classrooms and shampooed carpets they applied certified playground mulch as needed installed hard surface flooring in various classrooms renovations to lounges the faculty lounges preventive maintenance on hot and cold kitchen equipment led lighting was upgraded let's see vestibule flooring gym air condensing condensing units replace the replacement of exterior doors has been delayed a little bit installed ionizers in the hvac some of the larger projects we've done is the signal hill media center is being renovated that's ongoing and should be wrapping up soon the furniture has been somewhat delayed because there's a delay in supply chain but we will get loaner furniture to hold us over until the furniture we ordered arrived we have a replacement project of soffit fascia vms that's wrapping up fire alarm system was

upgraded we also did a renovation to the tennis and basketball courts at vms and resurfaced the track at vms um and and uh security cameras were installed with the alyssa law grant money so they're very busy and they're always uh so great and hard working just get ready for the start of school and there were additional challenges this year mostly because of materials being difficult to come by with supply chains uh the next so thank you very much to our maintenance staff we really appreciate your hard work the next item is the free and reduced lunch as all you probably know by now we've posted it several times all meals breakfast and lunch are available at no cost to all of our students as the student enters the building they will be presented with a

breakfast option if they choose to take it they're not required to but they can and they will eat it in the classroom and they'll be shields on each desk at lunch there are also be meals that are available at no cost snacks will be available but we will not be accepting any paper money or coins uh if the parents can put money in the child's account if they want to snack that's how we'll sell that and again we have dividers on all the cafeteria tables uh to keep each student separate from each other as they're eating so that's that area um as mrs watson said we're doing this new platform for our board docs and i really wanted to thank a lot of our staff here in particular lisa sallenberger and and trisha also over

there um trisha mclady they've been working very closely hand in hand on this as well as everyone else in our office i also want to wish lisa a very happy retirement she retires a little bit more than a month from now but this is probably her last board meeting and we will miss her tremendously she is such a great asset to the district so thank you um another item that's on the agenda that we just wanted to acknowledge is warheads pediatrics uh donated six cafeteria tables to us so that was really super nice of them to do and they will be put to good use here thank you so much helen and i want to echo fallen sentiments lisa i don't know what we would do without you you've been invaluable this year um you

keep us on our toes and keep us track every single meeting so thank you so much for all of your hard work all of your effort for always being a kind and smiling face whenever we see you um you are you will be missed and we are forever grateful for your service and enjoy your retirement superintendent report yes a couple housekeeping helen stole a little bit of my thunder but um as i walked i walked through uh some of the schools this morning many of our teachers have already been back the classrooms are set they're decorated the hallways are decorated so they've been working hard to get ready to welcome the students back to five days of in-person instruction uh we do understand that there's going to be challenges we know that we accept that

but we're ready i'm confident that we'll be able to move on and get this school year underway and we're going to do everything we can to make it as successful for the students as we can we often think at summertime is the schools are out and the kids are off but uh as i walk through this building there's a lot of people in here that may be had to close out last year and get this year started from transportation to food services to maintenance to the secretaries uploading reports to the department of ed uh the the amount of work that they continue to do i just want to recognize them for all their hard work as well they did a great job closing out last year and then getting us set up to open up

in september our annual report has been it's up on our website it goes up every year just an overview of our district and where we were last year attendance and things like that so that's up on our website on the agenda tonight for approval every school district in new jersey had to submit a full remote plan to the department of education for approval this plan may be if we get told to quarantine a classroom or a grade level or a school so our plan basically will just transition our students let's say it's a classroom they would transition remotely from home for a full day of instruction so they would log in with their teacher again i'll use elementary as an example if they had phys ed that day they would log out and log on

with the physical education teacher come back to their classroom teacher they would take their break for lunch and what would be recess and then log back but it would be a full day of instruction for the students that would be the easiest way to transition if we're told to um we've had an overwhelming response to our social and emotional health seminar that's going to be september 1st and september 2nd september 1st is for the elementary school parents september 2nd is for the middle school parents and you can log on it's virtual you can log on if you go to our website that information is up on our website if you there's still time to sign up if you'd like to participate in that that's all i have to do thank you moving to committee reports

can i have uh uh marissa will you handle the policy committee thank you very much we met earlier this evening to discuss 14 policies and regulations some highlights from our meeting including uh include some of the important things that matt taylor and his director discussed including a change of transportation policy beautiful day kindergarten our road forward quoted health and safety updated policy and some job descriptions i am asking this time to move those all forward for our first any discussion of those items for now actually we'll be voting on them a little bit later under the policy section okay but thank you audience participation we've changed the procedure a little bit so please um notice the the change to the podium anyone wishing to address the board please approach the podium and write your name

and address on the log in sheet if you are attending via zoom please use your raised to hand feature to be acknowledged while the board is limited in its ability to respond to the public on matters involving personnel litigation negotiations and attorney-client privilege the board will now hear comments from the public relating to items on the agenda for this board meeting comments are limited to three minutes the board will not take action this evening you will be notified at some time later by letter electronic mail telephone or in the context of a later board meeting of any action the board does take we are going to start timing individuals that come up to the podium are you little comments now yes oh yes please feel free it's for this is for agenda items any comments

that relate to agenda items and then there'll be a second open public section for non-agenda items yes okay uh comments from the board moving right along transportation i like to make a motion to approve all of the uh i can anyone making motion to approve all of the items under transportation any discussion right i will open the online voting [Music] the vote was unanimous yes i will now close the online voting can i get a motion to approve all of the items under policy any discussion i will now open the online voting all policy items were approved unanimously so the motion carries can i get a motion to move to approve all of the items under personnel any discussion rachel can you possibly explain about the act of the superintendent and the process that we

are going to start in replacing yes i can i was going to save it to four times but i guess i can so um yeah sure so obviously you know we've got a very important uh decision coming up um and a really long um well long and important process in selecting our new leader for our school district and so um we really wanted to look at some best practices best practices in doing so and a resource that can help us through that process is partnering with a search firm you know a a recruit recruiter or recruitment company that specializes specifically in uh superintendent searches uh so uh superintendent or other district leadership searches that has both a national uh and a regional uh reach um has a national and a regional uh experience um and

knowledge and so some of those uh some of the reasons or some of those those uh supports that that a search firm like this can offer us uh is supporting districts in ways such as conducting planning meetings with the board so prioritizing um prioritizing a timeline and the steps in the search process surveying the community and other constituents other stakeholders in the district district like uh administrators uh and assessing the needs and the goals uh and the priorities of the district and then all the while providing feedback to the board of education and then they'll also support us in the recruitment phase uh so advertising the role both you know locally regionally nationally uh supporting in the recruiting and the screening of candidates and and managing the application process and then really yeah and then

vetting all of the references uh and then through the kind of after we select a select a finalist uh uh or presenting semifinalists based on the feedback that we have uh we have learned from our uh stakeholders from the community and uh and then supporting the board and the interview interview questions in the interview process uh developing interview questions and facilitating the board discussions um in narrowing that uh candidate pool and then assisting in negotiation process so this is a a decision obviously a very important decision we want to really make sure that we are going through this um and and having really really great support um and so that's that's one of the uh so the timeline would start it probably would be march would be like final final so starting by september starting

soon that's uh that's what the timeline looks like and i have a breakdown of the timeline down that i can send you and that's just a recommended any other items under personnel up for discussion all right open the online voting the board votes unanimous to approve all personnel items sorry sticky fingers okay no items under deferred action new business can i have a motion to approve all of the items under new business so moved any discussion i'll open the online voting [Music] all board members have voted unanimously to approve new business our next meeting will be on september 29th 2021 at 7 30 pm in the administrative building audience participation anyone wishing to address the board please approach the podium and write your name and address on the login sheet i'm sorry um wow um

if you are yeah if you are attending via zoom please use your the raise the hand feature to be acknowledged while the board is limited in its ability to respond to the public on matters involving personnel litigation negotiations and attorney client privilege the board will now hear comments from the public comments are limited to three minutes the board will not take action this evening you will be notified at some time later by letter electronic mail telephone or the context of a later board meeting of any action the board does take please come up to the podium if you'd like to speak hmm [Music] i'm very fortunate to be in the school district everyone has been very supportive now my daughter has cancer it's been going through a very difficult time i'm concerned about her coming

back to school especially with the masked mandate i'm not getting any information on what the information is that they're basing all this on in terms of the criteria they're using to implement this i'm doing a bunch of research on this because i'm concerned about verbal degree and a bunch of you know countless doctors they're saying that there's a reason why any of our kids should be forced to be wearing a mask in school on planes or anywhere to study from the engineers in the university of woodward label it just came out with 82 once again produced conclusively that cloth and cervical mask do not stop coping researchers use the mannequin to simulate someone who's seated in the washroom some had cotton cloth masks others had new surgical masks they found that aerosol droplets big enough

to contain copper filled up on the mannequins as if the mask was not even there the mask only filtered about 10 of the aerosol droplets the cdc did a massive study in georgia with 90 000 kids in 169 schools from november 16 december 11th in which they found there was no statistically significant difference in schools that required students to wear masks compared to schools or maths were optional the 21 lower incidents in schools that required mass fees among students was not statistically significant compared with schools where mass use was optional according to the cd state in a study by jama they asked 45 kids between the ages of 6 7 and 17 to wear face masks for a short period of time in a controlled environment within three minutes they found kids inhaling carbon dioxide

up to more than six times the acceptable living for adults younger the children the higher the concentration of carbon dioxide almost immediately after sitting on the mask with a seven-year-old that kid's carbon dioxide level was 25 000 parts per million that's more than twice the level considered hazardous for adults in workplaces in this country for the minnesota department of health the average concentration of carbon dioxide over an eight hour period should not exceed ten thousand parts per million the guidance is for an eight-hour period this study found far higher concentrations in just minutes of putting on a mask excessive co2 in blood that include symptoms of dizziness confusion loss of concentration and consciousness and asphyxiation all these symptoms are indicative of respiratory failure for which a person should be immediately hospitalized mass themselves can spread

disease in 2015 a child conducted a vietnam two layers i'm sorry your time is up compared to medical mastery with 13 times higher risk of infection again i'm concerned about this and i want to know what murphy is using this uh his masked mandates based on and not hearing any data in which masks are going to be discontinued i was hoping that the school would be looking into that to find out when our children would be able to discontinue these masks as you know my daughter has cancer and asthma i'm concerned about her ability to be able to sit in class for seven hours every four five days a week attention's dance i would hope the school will be able to come back to me with this information to let us know when we will

be discontinuing these paths and based on what criteria have a special needs in the township to start your time until you start speaking basically i'm going to really reiterate the same uh items that she spoke about as far as they masked we would like to see some kind of data that showed that the hands do prevent covet there they're more harmful than they are productive they are harmful mentally psychologically physiologically uh they increase carbon dioxide levels i'm sure all of our levels are increased right now because we have a mask on okay the kids cannot breathe uh and so we would like some some kind of information as to um will the masking ever end will it always be ongoing if there's a virus around or we'd like some information about that also uh we're

requesting information on bill 4454 which requires school districts in new jersey to provide instruction on diversity and inclusion will that inclusion or will that instruction include critical race theory is critical race theory going to be taught in the schools we would like that answer um is the instruction pertaining to that only going to be included in health and phys ed and when will parents be provided with the curriculum and information that will be taught as far as that bill is concerned um okay also what is your district's policy regarding the promotion of the vaccine i know you have vaccine clinics we'd like to know if the teachers will be promoting that to the students and if informed consent will also be introduced in those conversations because informed consent actually is required for an emergency use

authorization this mask and the vaccine are experimental so if they're experimental influent consent should be required and it is by law so basically the mandate that governor murphy put through is actually illegal okay um okay uh since this school is is promoting the vaccine will you also do you also have plans to promote other pharmaceuticals like anti-depression or antipsychotic medications because you're promoting a vaccine that kids should be taking which if anybody looked at the average report there are numerous deaths numerous cerebral palsy cases numerous adverse events and that stuff is not being given at the time you're promoting the vaccine to teachers to kids to everybody and it's a travesty thank you i do want to address some of your your comments um i'm sorry there a person uh on zoom okay um oh

so don't address them now no i i would get through everybody okay son go ahead or is there anybody else in the room that would like to speak yes please hi this is monica fillmore from 38 forest hills um i wanted to address mr redfern's comments about the rem being able to remote in if the class is quarantining what i'm concerned about is whether or not the individuals will be able individual students will be able to remote into class if they are having symptoms but not yet quarantining i think that should be an option the technology is already in place and it would help to have more parents keep their children home if they have symptoms but are not yet testing positive so i was hoping that the school board would consider that as an

option thank you another okay please okay first kudos ladies everybody i think uh you think miss watson precedent that she said earlier and say i think everyone's that's the same sheet on their mind that they want to talk about her um they touched on those points very well so uh i have two things one the full roman plan that we were discussing here is it possible that could be implemented in the midst of a day like you find something out could kids be sent home or would that be taking place the next day on that's the one question of that um next thing topic that i would expect to get some feedback for um and mr fernando if i apologize to the support of the september second bms parent meeting um i wasn't really privy

to that information i apologize for that so what i want to know is that what changes are going to be being made to the curriculum in regards to the social emotional learning curriculum for this year coming up um are there going to be new items implemented for this year that we're not in advance and as a follow-up to that is what level of professional or developmental training do the teachers have to meet in order to present this new changes to the sel program is that provided by the school district or is it a mandatory uh training developmental learning something that they have to meet is it mandatory or is it just suggested is it made available to them from the district in other words and lastly i want to see if we can get information

on any changes that are being made to the middle school curriculum for this year these are items that would normally be part of a health class that might be implemented as part of another class that is not really something that can be opted out of such as social studies science something that normally would be fall under health and education that we could say you know what that's not for my kids and it could be put somewhere that we would not have the ability to opt out if i'm saying that right that makes sense all right that was it and thank you very much thank you thank you [Music] good evening my name is joan hughes of 32 christopher brave yes please [Music] i just wanted to uh mention what happened with me wearing a mask

in november i developed a parry oral dermatitis and it was god awful and anyone with sensitive skin who which my granddaughter has that's what happens it's somewhere in the midst and they eat and everything it's all around here so that was november i had it for four months then in the third month from there it went to mrsa and it was awful so um it took four months and back and forth back to the dermatologist i still use lidocaine once in a while to help it so i just wanted to make to be aware that anyone with sensitive skin which i have and my granddaughter has it's that's what happens because the heat when you're wearing these masks bother anyone with sensitive skin so i guess that's it thank you so much it was awful

i'm telling you it was wobble that happened i'm glad to see that you're feeling better but and i have my grandpa doesn't have to go through any of this [Music] any other comments but my other two are in the middle school and i really hear about my youngest son who has special needs and i'm really pleading with music because my son has challenges every day of his life and coming to school is one of his greatest joys and he needs to be able to see and read people's expressions and unfortunately with these masks he can't see anything that people are feeling or saying or anything so it is such a critical part of his day to be able to read expressions social everything so that is my one plea for you is to really consider

so many of our kids in our district have so many challenges and if we could take away this mess and really allow them to be free and interact appropriately but really our kids are the ones that are suffering we can talk all day and night about figures facts and articles but you really have to think about these there's so many other things that go on every day and i think this is a huge hit to a lot of things that could happen thank you all right hmm all right we can't hear you so i'm not sure are you able to hear me yes okay sorry about that my name is lauren jacob from 142 william feather drive um i wanted to express my agreement with the comment made about remote learning being available for kids

who might be homesick with symptoms that could possibly be coveted but aren't so they could be encouraged to stay home instead of returning to school with some of those symptoms still going on um i also wanted to um just express i i attended kindergarten orientation this morning which was wonderful however it was really concerning that there's absolutely no social distancing happening in the kindergarten classrooms and the kids at least in signal hill remain pretty much arm to arm distance sitting together at tables whereas some of the other kindergarten classrooms seem to have individual desks so i'm not sure what the difference is with that and why the cdc recommendations are being followed in the kindergarten classrooms and i think my last concern for now is i was recently told by the school principal that covid

testing would be up to the parents to get if they felt that it was necessary for the symptoms that were being presented rather than the school um requiring the the test to be done thank you any other comments yes um there is a couple of things that i i would like to address um first and foremost i just want everyone to understand we hear all of you and we understand that there's two issues there's two sides to the masking issue we're very aware of that um and we continue to encourage you to raise your concerns from the medical scientific all the various different arguments that people have on both sides of the issue that being said we do not vote as a board on whether or not there will be masks worn in school we

haven't we have yet to vote as a board on whether or not masks will be required in school it is a mandate from the governor he's requiring the schools where these children in schools wear masks period we we have no say and i just want everybody to understand and appreciate that i still encourage you to come raise your concerns write governor murphy share your voice make your voice be heard i just want everybody to understand from a procedural aspect that we aren't in a back room looking at all of the evidence making medical decisions on whether or not the student should be wearing masks it is a decision much much much higher up than the school board perhaps in other states it's different but not in new jersey at this time that being said while

i'm happy to hear all of the arguments that people have to make i was we received um your letter mrs wellings um and i will tell you i was a little i was a little concerned by some of the facts that was raised specifically talking about the nuremberg code and the reason why that specifically concerns me is from a historical perspective the nuremberg code was put into effect after the nuremberg trials after world war ii where concentration camp prisoners were had medical experiments done on them against their will unethical unspeakable disgusting reprehensible things were done to them and the reason why the code came into place is because when you do medical experiments on humans you need to have informed consent the nuremberg code is not law in the in any nation the normanburg code

has not been adopted as law the nuremberg code is a war crime if you were to engage in war crimes but that's not what we're discussing it is only applicable specifically to medical experiments the masks are not medical experiments they are a preventative measure that was implemented in order to protect people it is not an emergency use only device none of that is accurate i'm happy to hear the scientific evidence on both sides of the issue but i can't stand by when somebody is trying to make a comparison to concentration camp medical experiments that were conducted and children wearing masks in school it is not the same thing quite honestly i was offended by that argument i hear all of your other medical and science and i'm happy to discuss them but that for me

went too far if you'd like to speak you'd have to you have to come to the podium while we're on the topic of experimental the masks are experimental they haven't been shown to stop transmission of coping so this these are experimental that was my point okay the vaccine is experimental it's experimental medical therapy it's the same thing you need informed consent for medical experiments these kids are becoming our medical experiments by having to wear these masks everybody is by having to take this vaccine that was my point regardless of everything else that you added in there my point was that this is all experimental is it not that was my point okay all right thank you any other comments on the topic of this here i think what you're going to see is from both

sides of the equation it's an awful topic to have to address we just happen to reside in one of those states that you know this trash comes ahead in this manner from the top down um when somebody makes an argument for their side it is normally us utilizing whatever straws are within our reach to grasp to utilize it correct somebody has opinions on inside somebody has opinion the other way but let's put a face to this thing as a whole right now if we were sitting here right now talking about this at odds or applebee's not one of you would have a man's wanting to be having the same conversation with him with the same logical information that's it everyone here is eating out i'm sure i'm not saying you haven't maybe you haven't but

we can walk across the floor and not get set because you're not allowed while you're walking then we can sit down and we are about to get sick there's nothing dumbest thing possible they don't work they've never worked their signs back up from every avenue but if we weren't in this building right now we wouldn't have them want to be having a conversation that's it [Applause] don't you as the board has the power to go one person at a time number one number two public participation is limited you have one opportunity to speak and that's it all right so go ahead and finish up yeah i mean why can't you have support other school gestures we're not asking for no math we're great thank you first any other comments board comments moving to finance can

i have a motion to approve all the items under finance discussion okay i'll open the online voting [Music] the board has unanimously approved the finance items can i have a motion to adjourn the meeting and i will mark everyone unanimous for yes to adjourn the meeting thank you meeting adjourned
