Columbia Eagles vs. East Alton-Wood River Oilers Varsity Football

001me we get down into their territory and you and i talked after the game i don't want to say we called our guys off but at the same token we weren't expecting to get to be that close into the end zone yeah i was definitely not expecting us to put together a drive there with only i don't even think we had a timeout maybe one time out there at the end of that game so good good resilience by our offensive line and by don vagley and the whole the whole offensive squad to get the ball down the field a little bit and excite the crowd a little bit i mean that was a tough crowd to play in last week it was loud the whole game and i think our guys um i think tonight

002they're gonna come back stronger and i think they're ready for tonight against uh east saltonwood river and you know you know last weekend it was a tough place to play just because of like you said homecoming they got their state championship rings last weekend so now you look at our crowd though tonight with the blue jay night that fence is already filled up 30 minutes before the game so there was no place to park it's going to be a good rowdy crowd here tonight on the home side we're looking over at east alton side and not too many people over there but hopefully our crowd can get in it and uh we can get a quick quick score and get our crowd into it right off the bat and get a win so how about

003this new setup alex what do we got it's a pretty nice setup yeah i kind of like it this week we're just under 20 minutes to go before the kickoff here tonight so we're going to send to a break we're going to come back with the asus wild pregame show we're going to talk conference standings conference schedule and then we're going to get into this week six match up between the eagles and the oilers right after this [Music] bye [Music] wild pre-game show presented by aces wild video game and parlor in this week six match-up between the eagles and the oilers and you look at the conference standings columbia's sitting right in the middle of the pack there with going two and three one and one in the conference and east alton is coming into

004it at one and four and owen two so wood river only only scoring seven points a game and giving up 28. so the eagles got a shot here to put up some points and potentially get ourselves a shutout here tonight yeah and coach germain anytime he he sees that he's got his defense all over it and he's going to have his guys ready and just going over the last couple weeks is playing on the defensive side of the ball it's assignment football so tonight um i looked at their roster they i think half their team was freshmen and sophomores so um coming out we need we need to start off early and start off hot you look at the rest of the standings there the big matchup this week is up at the top you've

005got salem and bree central both four and one both two and oh so that's got a lot of implications there and columbia's not out of it we just got to win out we know that's our job freeberg i believe they go um and play roxanna they have to roxanna has to come to them so um you look at that east alton come in here salem going to breeze central that's going to be a huge game and that's more likely going to be the winner that has a shot at being a conference champ and they just have to win out and then they won't have to worry about being co-champs with anybody roxanna's still trying to figure it out coming on going back to freeburg they're coming off that big win so what are your predictions

006on that those match-ups there um well i'm taking the eagles tonight i know that but brie central and salem that should be a good one i know uh salem usually puts up a lot of points but bree central's got a good coaching staff over there so they're usually coached up pretty well so they know uh what the other team's going to run but i would say greece central is going to win that one tonight and then i'll take freiburg also at home so um yeah not going to be too much moving up at the top of the standings there now you look at tonight's matchup the eagles and the oilers coach horner and well chs comes into the series at seven and one and coach horner is six in one that one loss came back

007in 2004 and a 13 to nothing shout out i asked coach horner i said what happened in that game he goes i don't know they were just better and they put up more points he goes ask coach germain he'd be able to tell you a little bit more about that the most recent matchup back in 21 whenever the eagles won 49-14 and that's whenever uh east alton went on six in the spring season and uh you know they're they're like you said they're young so they're gonna have to have some rebuilding years and hopefully the eagles are able to exploit that here tonight on blue jay night and the cheerleaders also have the little cheerleaders with them as well and you know you talk about blue jay night tonight you play blue jays and i'm

008looking down on the field right now you got sam horner adam wibb and donovan bieber those guys are all um they're coming back they're back home they're watching the game and they were all blue jays players as well and we've talked about it too me and you you said those were some of the best times in tonight you look at some of the excitement the guys are excited too yeah and it's a beautiful thing anytime you have a lot of little kids out there playing football and you have you get to see them come out on the high school field for a night um for for years to come i mean they're they're going to be put strapping it up and putting on the helmet and walking down here to themselves so it's crazy how

009fast it goes i mean i remember when i was in blue jays playing high school football and doing all this stuff but now we're up here commentating alex and now we're watching down on blue jays night so i mean it's it's a weird thing but it's it's also an awesome thing and you got to have a good feeder program i mean that starts with the coaches at the very lowest level the freshman class in the blue jays organization you know it starts down there they got to learn the right fundamentals they got to know how to tackle they got to know how to throw how to run the routes and everything and everybody looks at coach horner and thinks man he's a great coach well you know you would ask him the same way he's

010going to tell you those guys down below they have the hard job yeah i mean down there working with those littler guys it's not it's not very uh it's not very easy um they don't listen very well but um those coaches those coaches down there know they know what they're doing and they know how to rally the troops and um it's it's cool whenever i was in blue jays i always thought it was awesome whenever i'd see like high school high school players like come to our practices and stuff or come to our games i always thought that was awesome so for these guys to go support our blue jays it's it's pretty awesome so we're going to go through our predictions tonight and for the first time ever for the people that don't know

011this little broadcast deal here started back in about the 2012-2013 season with tony and tj weber they threw up everything they got everything ready to rock and roll and i was with them a lot of times and they always gave their predictions and i think for the first time in what that nine years ten years we have a first here and a score prediction so jared what do you got for your score prediction tonight eagles are going to shut out the oilers tonight i'm taking the eagles 27 zippo and i think the eagles are going to walk out of here with a zero on that scoreboard zero zero no garbage time touchdown at the end home turf one of your last home games uh must win coming off a tough loss last week i think

012you got to bring the juice tonight and start off from start from the beginning i can agree with you i'm still shocked you know you're going that shut out i'll give it to you i'm going to go 34-13 i think we're going to give up a touchdown and i think later off it's going to be another touchdown at the end but i think the eagles offense is going to keep rolling we've done a lot better with the lineman side of the football we're watching you know east alton down here they got some big guys but i think you know speed kills and i think our guys are going to be a little bit quicker tonight and that's what it's going to boil down to so band is starting to take the field right now we

013got about two minutes until i think the team's going to start making their way down as well so we're going to head to one more break and whenever we come back we will be back with a short video with the blue jays and we will let the blue jays lead us out onto the field here in the aces wild pregame show [Music] this is wild pregame show presented by aces wild video game and parlor this week varsity players they took their jerseys they went up top they got to meet with the blue jays and got a couple words from the blue jays players we talked to coach horner we had got to hear what some of the high school players had to say as well so go ahead take a look at this video and

014see what tonight is all about break it down [Music] this is our youth football here in columbia they've been around for a really long time and uh you know a lot of the kids that play blue jay football are the same ones that come to high school uh at columbia high school and so having them as a youth organization to teach the kids the fundamentals of the game is super important and uh it's really awesome to to see these guys when you get to know them when they're really young and you watch them mature and grow and then come through our program and have success it's really a neat neat deal obviously very special for those kids they get to be a part of what we do on friday night we hope that it generates

015some more enthusiasm for them you know they come out they walk down to the field with our varsity kids and go through the tunnel and and get to hear the band and it kind of gives them just a small taste of of kind of what's to come moving forward and and then uh you know we hope that that keeps our interest enough that that they look up to those high school kids and they they want to be high school football players so they get to play on the big field uh you know on the turf field and hear the band and be part of homecoming and all those kind of things so that's our goal our goal is to just kind of generate interest one two three [Music] um well i i remember whenever i

016was i was one of the young guys and you know we were all excited you know just in awe at how big you know i was like seniors and some of the linemen are i feel like it's a good experience i feel like i work harder whenever the varsity players are here because it pushes me to my limits hey right now you feel like you're an all-star and you just feel so good going out and you go come on break up feeling like you're big yeah i started uh blue jays i think when i was six or seven and started with the freshman and the little littlest guys and been here for about six years five years and i stick i plan to be here next year and finish out this year strong with hopefully

017a championship something special we need more people to see these big guys come out and help us help us with practice getting ready for uh next few years you know whenever you're that young and i mean some of them aren't even that young just a few years younger than us but you know just being able to see the guys that play down there on friday nights it's a cool experience and i can't wait to you know give it back to these guys only had one guy take a tumble and only had one shoe lost so not a not a bad little session there for the blue jays that take the field and that's got to be cool for them i'm sure they all loved it you could hear a couple of them laughing and yelling

018them from up here so pretty cool night for them yeah i bet their adrenaline was rushing when uh whenever they were running through that tunnel with the band playing and all their uh friends and family up here cheering for him and the high school team running right behind them so that was that was pretty special to watch well we're going to take it to a break we're going to get set up the band's going to get set up and we will be back with the national anthem right after this [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's eagle football time jared hey that's my line once again we missed the coin toss so we're gonna have to figure that out here on the fly it looks like we're kicking it by the gates told coach kendall i

019said hey this is the week we've been close all the time so you want to see a defensive touchdown especially as well so he said no pressure but uh i think he'll be able to handle it we'll see how it goes columbia's going to come out blue bottoms blue tops and the white hat just like we always do on our home games and east alton's coming out with white bottoms white tops and maroon kickoff tonight will be because of the eagles winning the talks or winning the toss and deferring to the second half dom vaguely is going to kick it left to right with no wind here tonight a little windy this afternoon and he's going to send it deep [Applause] and it will be returned from the five yard line they're gonna go down

020that right sideline lummi's gonna have to keep containing a great tackle there by the eagles latching on and making the tackle for the oilers to start over at their 26 yard line jared what are your keys tonight for this game um i think coming off that loss last week you just got to keep the train rolling um offense got to come out defense got to come out all the way around and you just got to perform well in front of your home crowd i think this is a must win for the playoffs um no matter what um you got to get out of here with the win try to go three and three and then uh just enjoy being at home you're playing in front of your home crowd second last home game i believe

021and i just think you got to go out there and show your uh show your city what you're made of like you said you got to get back on that train get this get this rolling once again shotgun for the oilers they're going to go right up the middle it's going to be sniffed out great job by brewer making the tackle and only allowing a gain of one as you saw there a little partly cloudy skies we weren't sure is it gonna rain is it not gonna rain got to try to figure that out if anybody's looking for anything to do tomorrow our pre-game sponsor aces wild is having their rib war so come on up get some good eats and get a little college football action while you're watching people compete see who's got

022the best ribs here in columbia so that takes place tomorrow at noon to about six o'clock is when the awards will be right off you like ribs alex oh i could go for some good ribs trips to the left side for the oilers looks like the eagles are going to blitz off the top side going to be another run play they're going to run away from the blitz good job there by the eagles forcing it back in and it's going to be two linemen making the tackle see who's going to get off looks like carter hicks is the first lineman to get there as well as number 42 brandon jackson in the south that was just the simple quarterback power to the left looks like they're not gonna run anything too extreme yet um with

023this third and three third and four haven't really uh not really sure what offense they they run a lot but we'll try to figure out here tonight and see uh what columbia defense can do against it eagles defense gave up 250 yards of rushing offense last week so see if we get that clamp down it's going to be a tight end to the right side and a wing back they're going to run it to the right side with number 25 who's going to get close to a first down but i don't know if he got it there with brewer making a shoestring tackle at the last second it's gonna depend on the spot here looks like they're gonna measure already a measurement one thing about these rushing offenses get that clock moving so if there

024is any rain coming we'll be out here before it happens [Applause] we had about two measurements in that game a couple weeks ago i forgot who we were playing here at home but we were up about three or four scores and they were still measuring uh the spot of the ball white hat says [Applause] so just enough just barely to get a fresh set of downs here i don't think we've won a measurement yet this year i think we're over three right there so first and ten they're gonna go trips to the right side running back to the right side eagles are gonna have three down linemen and their two linebackers gonna come up chase the quarterback down hicks is trying to get off his block and he does in great pursuit for the eagles

025and it's only going to be a gain of two good job coming from the back side there is that owen brewer yeah the backside uh linebacker looked like he's coming off the putting his foot in the in the ground a little bit putting himself as a d tackle and we have a couple guys that can do that that can kind of go back to linebacker and that can put their hand in the ground so that's that can be uh that can be special for a defense if you guys if you got guys that can move their feet a little quicker than the offensive line game second and seven gonna be another run play to the right side with number 25 he's gonna power his way for a couple yards and it's going to bring up

026a third down and three and we're going to run down to the field here we got chs grad adam weber he's going to be our on field what's the feel down there tonight and a must-win game here for the eagles how's the team responding so far [Music] [Applause] the third down and four it's great job sniffing out here for the eagles but like mistler was up there and just jumped over his block there or his tackle this would be good for another first down web you had cut short last year you guys went four and two you had an opportunity i think if you had the postseason i think you could have made a little bit of a run i said last year you guys got cut short your senior season with that four and

027two season you only got to play those six games i think you guys might have been able to make a little bit of a run down there [Applause] [Music] all right we'll come back to you here in a little bit later we're going to keep going from up here and we'll see what's going on in the second quarter rush there once again by the oilers it's going to be a second down in seven he's salton just keeping it and three plus three plus three plus three's twelve you got a first down every time yeah we had to do that uh two weeks ago against roxanna they got a chips left here and they're just gonna do a quarterback power to the left and great pursuit by it looks like carter hicks got there on the

028outside didn't let him cut it back up and that's a loss of about five or six there and that's gonna bring up a long third down number question vaguely we're there once again i mean we're saying their names all the time this year and uh you know it's a great job we've talked about it before being a safety being a linebacker doesn't matter these guys are making the plays wherever they're putting that makes coach remains job a little bit easier yeah you got vaguely with 30 tackles this year owen brewer 25 mistler with 22. you got when you look around at all of our guys i mean you don't see one guy that's got a bunch of tackles and then the rest are just man man you got guys with 15 plus tackles all the

029way around so everybody's getting to the football and it's great to see uh white hats get to the ball time out on the field by east alton we're going to send it to a break we got 6 50 remaining in the first quarter in this week six matchup here from columbia multipurpose field [Music] all right [Music] third down and 12 for the oilers are going to get up only a couple yards and it's going to bring up a fourth down and nine now after the short gain and in this offense here coach germain once again he just wants those long passing plays and uh makes his job once again easy as can be and they took off probably half the quarter there almost so um just seeing that first drive for east altman river looks

030like they're going to be a run heavy offense tonight not going to throw the ball in the air going to try to maybe get a lead and then try to hold the ball for a little bit tonight so we'll see uh what coach horner's offense has in store smartly the oilers punt the ball way away from mcconaughey i haven't seen that yet this year i don't think no that's something we saw a lot last year with having a london little back there and if anybody's watching film they need to do that mcconaughey he's just a shifty he's going to be able to bust one eventually and hopefully tonight might be that night so vaguely going to come out with the offense and that new formation last week that we couldn't figure anything out about it's

031called the t formation nothing special just something pretty simple and we'll see if coach horner wants to run that this week he's going to start with a tight end and hicks mistler is going to be our sniffer back going to be a run stretch play to the right side mcconaughey is going to get it to the outside he's going to make one man miss he's got to make a second man miss hurdles over the top he didn't have to do that did he trips himself up and falls at the 45 and i think i'm on your side there jared i think he could have cut back and just made a touchdown one little cut there to the left and i think he's already walking in the end zone on that far pylon over there but

032great great first play there uh for the eagles get to get the drive moving looks like uh mcconaughey's gonna have a heavy load tonight and we'll see uh if he can do like the same he did last week trips to the right side gonna be an rpo it's going to be handed off to mcconaughey he's got good downfield blocking he's got another first down two plays and about 35 yards coach horner wants to keep this tempo going something we've seen last couple weeks mcconaughey coming off the 109-yard rushing game last week and he also i believe had 100 yards receiving as well on the air he's got 52 attempts 325 yards three touchdowns catches a lot of balls out of the back field and um he's you can put him anywhere on the field you

033can put him out at wide receiver if you wanted to and last week we saw him throw a touchdown pass so i mean mcconaughey is a kid that you can put anywhere on the offensive side and i mean he'll stick his nose in a linebacker on the defensive side empty this time it's going to be a quarterback run who's going to run over a linebacker and he's going to get another first down on the play hard running there by dominic vaguely this might be a run heavy game alex so far east alton's coming they've got four down linemen and two linebackers if you're only going to put six in the box yeah coach warner is going to come right after you [Music] what is that three plays three first downs two mechanically and one by

034vaguely [Applause] east alton once again you see now they're going to bring up another lineman it's going to be a stand-up defensive end number 24. we're going to run right at him we're going to go up the middle mcconaughey is going to follow a block of number 52 he's going to make one man he's got nobody in front of him he's got a touchdown eagles [Music] that might be our first touchdown on our first offensive drive all year i think marquette we might have had one but we started the same way with marquette yeah what a good drive there start off the game on the offensive side of the ball two minute drive not even kick is up line drive kick is good i don't know if the officials knew if that was good or

035not but nonetheless that takes the eagles seven east alton zero on that mandy mcguire group scoreboard hopefully we get to light that thing up here tonight and jared's jared's going shut out so we'll see what happens and you know eagles offense like we've been saying you know they're going to be run heavy they're going to be pass heavy well you know we're pretty even throughout the year i mean you're looking last week 164 or 166 to 154 i like my odds whenever i can keep it that even but in a night like tonight if we're gonna run the ball let's just run it yeah i mean when you have a guy like vaguely uh catching the ball every single play and then you got a guy like mcconaughey right next to him um it's pretty

036tough as a defense i mean when your defensive lineman or your linebacker coming up and trying to tackle these two guys in open space i mean these vaguely's more of a downhill type guy he'll put his head down run you over but then you got mcconaughey who's more of the speedster and he's going to spread you out a little bit so i think having those two in the backfield is it's tough to guard on the defensive side and coach horner's got something special back there that he can work with the rest of the system vaguely tees it up he's going to send it deep once again another good kick out of them that's going to fall at the three and go into the end zone four touch back so with 440 remaining in the first

037quarter the eagles defense is to come back out onto the field that was a great downfield block there looked like kaczynski making his way down there he was 10 15 yards and that was the the final block that got mcconaughey into the end zone you look at these russian statistics over the year um you have vaguely use averaging 5.6 yards of carry and mechanical is averaging 6.3 yards of carry so if you have two guys that are averaging um five yards over five yards of carry i mean i'll take that any day and now you look at two a lot of the russian attempts that vaguely gets those are sacks too yeah so i mean that's a little bit of a skewed number that's a quarterback talking there you know making the average go down

038a little bit so the eagles offense defense defense rather the eagles offense gets it going defense gets a stop they're going to do it again four down lineman for the eagles two linebackers send a man in motion towards us quarterback's going to keep it he's going to go up the middle it's going to be a great job there by mcconaughey stepping up and all he did was just go for the ankles and make a tackle looks like they're running the same offense that we do they're just running trade rpo five yard game they're running a guy on the field every time that's something else that's just gonna eat up the clock columbia pretty much got away from running a huddle more or less since the 0-6 season yeah i never ran the huddle unless we

039were in that heavy field empty set for the oilers quarterback's going to run to the right side he's going to get nothing and he's going to get tripped up on the play what do you know kyle mcconaughey that guy's probably six seven inches taller than him and all you gotta do is go down at the knees and take his ankles out and i know we've talked about it every week he's gonna be the the smallest guy on the on the field at all times but he's probably one of the toughest ones out there so give it to mcconaughey for sticking his nose in there every play and making a great tackle there to bring up a tougher third down so it's going to bring up another third down and long third down and seven this

040is what coach g wants three minutes and 20 seconds remaining on the corey pharmacy clock here at the multi-purpose field gonna hand the ball off to the left side it's gonna be vaguely who's gonna get there and it's to be probably enough and it looks like they're going to give it to them good job there by the oiler running back bagler was vaguely was there he just that guy stumbled for a good four or five yards to pick up that first down hit him at about the 25 26 yard line and he stumbled pick up that first down clock still ticking three minutes left in this first quarter and they look i mean their o line looks like they're moving they're moving our guys and they're they look like big big gap holes that the

041these running backs and quarterbacks are able to run through so seven guys in the box this time for the eagles good job by reading your key there by vaguely and he steps into the hole and makes the tackle and last night we talked to coach horner in the houlton needs coaches corner and he said you know when a guy in a game like this you have to read your keys so what does he mean whenever he's saying you got to read your keys as a d-lineman or as like a linebacker there's a linebacker deep lineman safety whatever well if you're playing against a o-line i mean if they're going to take a step back they're probably past pass blocking and then if they're if they're pulling or if they're blocking straight down you know the

042ball is probably either coming at you or it's going to be a run so that guy over the top of you usually gives away uh what's what's coming to you good job everybody mistler gone the blitzing linebacker gets in the backfield and he makes the tackle good job getting the snap looked like grant matheny was there to clean the mess up and that's all it takes when you have those outside runs and you have linebackers that can fly down the field all it takes is i know we've said it every week but just to get a hand on them to force them back inside because you have your linebackers and your d-linemen flowing to the ball and you got guys like vaguely and mcconaughey who can use their speed to get to the ball um

043so great job by the defense there to bring up another tough third down and we'll see if coach germain can get a stop here so you're gonna bring the juice on this plate too yeah he is look at that guy that is the most intense man i think when you look at him he gets in the zone man as we have another timeout here by the oilers that guy though we see pregame meal and i kind of sat across from him and those eyes could pierce through anything they wanted to pierce through oh trust me i know trust me [Applause] let us know where you're listening from here as we host the oilers with a minute 25 left to go in the first quarter let us know where you're coming from we've had one from

044florida already jared's already had to text come in give us a shout out yeah where you listening from you got to get all 50 states in here one one year [Music] what's the theme tonight for the uh student section you have any ideas it's just great crazy blue on mine what's going to be the homecoming thing [Music] dancing in the streets dancing in the streets we got a little bit of an insider up here yeah giving us all the answers dancing in the streets homecoming going to be happening on main street this year third and eight wing back it's gonna be great job there by the eagles pursuit to get back there and it's going to be a loss of about 10. quarterback couldn't get the snap that's going to be a big loss on

045the play i think they'll kick it away he's gonna get this one he's taking it to the house we got a house called ladies and gentlemen he's gonna use this side of the field he's gonna he's gonna score on this side of the field all right is this gonna be a mic drop when it happens if they even give him a chance oh they're not gonna give him a chance are they kick it straight out of bounds well it's gonna be great field possession here for the eagles and they're gonna start on the oilers side of the field we're gonna take over from the 47. i think we're going to keep it on the ground here so i think so they're treating mcconaughey like he's devin hester back there so weeks to come we'll have

046to see if teams keep keep kicking the ball to him because almost every time he gets it on those kickoffs and punts i mean he gets positive yardage and he makes one or two people miss almost every time so east alton would river has watched their film and known to kick away from number 21. gonna be an up back it's going to be a handoff to mcconaughey he's going to try to get to the outside juke's one man who's going to keep hanging on to him and a great job by kyle keeping his feet moving like you said he's a shifty running back but he's going to keep his feet going and keep on his balance and try to get that extra yard and he's got great vision he uh he can see the field

047so well and he he knows when gaps are going to open up and something that we talked about earlier this season was he was almost hitting the gaps too early because he's he's too quick and he gets to he gets to the line too fast and he doesn't let everything open up because he's getting there quicker than the lineman can even get to their blocks four down lineman for the oilers gonna be a handoff up the middle good push by the offensive line [Music] it's gonna be a dana of only one but had a pretty good hole there they just did a good job and clogging it up i'll take it to the end of the first quarter so that'll do it that is probably one of the quickest first quarters we've had here at

048columbia where your two and three eagles are up against the one and four oilers eagles currently lead on the mandy mcguire group scoreboard 7-0 we will be back right after this videos welcome back ladies and gentlemen where the eagles lead this one 7-0 [Music] currently half the football in oil or territory for a third down and four and go tight end left sniffer back left wide receiver left sending saigon in motion it's just gonna be a hard count and that's all you're gonna need 24. number 24 hasn't come off the field yet i think he's the one running from sideline to huddle every every play so he's going to be gas after this one so that's going to be a three five yards and we only needed four so that's going to result in a

049columbia eagles first down taking a shot coming out of the quarter you could it looks like they're just running man-to-man with uh what are they running over here we got a linebacker playing on our middle receiver then they got three guys playing over the top another time where begley claps his hands and says go and just don't get the snap back there in time i'm gonna put that one on methane there you hear that that clap and you know maybe that's on vaguely too he might be changing up his cadence a little bit just got to get that figured out so it's going to be a loss of five now still first down in 15 for the eagles trips to the left side jared said no safety going to be a high snap but it's

050going to be caught and handed off to mcconaughey he's going to get the edge he's going to be at the 35 and he's going to get a couple more yards before they blow the play dead [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hope he started him in fantasy this week running out of his shoes and said the blue jays we had one kid about the middle of the pack he took a tumble it looked like we got a lineman running through he lost the shoe and he was trying to put the shoe on guys [Music] you always see those videos t formation here to the right side it's going to be a stretch play to the right side vaguely he's going to keep it himself and i think him up he's tripped up number 24 who is it

051by himself looks like 24 dovah he missed him and then there was kind of a if it was a trip it was a late trip because he got away from him and then he might have stumbled over his own feet like the ben roethlisberger ben roethlisberger style or [Applause] now we got a third nine here we'll see what coach horner's got up his sleeve eagles have yet to attempt to pass you see big number two carter hicks out here coming might throw one over the top here and just have him go get it get a first down if they're gonna play man-to-man out here mister's going to move in a little bit corner right over the top of carter hicks on this outside it's going to be a roll out to the right side they're

052going to cross the field and it's going to be caught by mcconaughey someone missed the block you're not gonna get anything you look at coach horner and coach jermaine both throwing their hands up like i said somebody's gonna have to miss a block if he's gonna get tackled that quick yeah because that's a we've we scored on that play i believe or we almost did i think it was a home game that we almost scored on it and all it is is they treat it like a roll out to the right and the running back just stays on this side and just throws it right over the line gets the whole defense flowing to that side of the field and maybe have one or two defensive players still on this side of the field so

053someone missed their block there and lost two yards so we know vaguely can boot at 60 yards let's see if he can get it about 37 and yards going to go to the corner but not to the corner enough and it's going to go into the end zone forward touch back he headed on that right angle he was about needed by another five yards though to get it out of bounds so the eagles lead the corey pharmacy scoreboard 7-0 with 9 remaining in the first half [Music] [Applause] you look at coach kendall there after that kick and he's probably like oh let me show you how to do it let me put on the cleats and walk out there and i'll show you how to get it inside the five i believe he had a

054record at one time i think he does i think he still still uh holds the record too he'll probably tell you the exact place he did it the exact shoes yeah the undershirt he was wearing what time it was what he ate for lunch that day he could tell you the whole thing gonna be a quick run to the left side there's gonna be a ton of people all around that hole in number 22. finds the hole just enough and he's going to get five we'll get him given five yards and he's gonna be brought down by jackson bring up a second and five coach kendall texted me today go slam we gotta get an interview find this yeah we'll get you don't worry well we'll get you next week coach kendall miss it again

055eagles four down lineman gonna send everybody up to the line of scrimmage looks like everybody's gonna be on all out blitz and they are [Applause] a good cut back there that time and on those zone plays like that that they just ran everybody's just gonna take one step to the right side i'm saying on the offensive side of the ball yeah and that cutback's usually there for the running back yeah and you kind of just block down there and you just you got to have athletes on that side of the ball whenever they have got to have guys that know their great vision and have great feet and there i mean our defensive line was able to wrap up and get a couple hats of the football make a play see coach ames in there

056on the ipad that's his job run to the left side again another big hole and another attempt there by mcconaughey no miss tackle but like i said those ipads down there they got the replay at a flip of a switch yeah it comes quick i remember i took a i took a shot one game i was playing in and i wanted to see how i got hit and i literally came off the field and they were already looking at it and it's probably 10 seconds after the play that goes down there so um that gives coaches i mean that that helps coaches a lot because they can they can literally go over to that player that just made a mistake and say what what are you doing here what do you think you're doing who

057are you blocking so i think that's a definitely a plus for our coaching staff that we have second four is going to be a pass play just a quick hit drought good job there by meganson was this the corner over there had good coverage he made a good break on the ball it was just good timing by the quarterback and wide receiver as comes off simon is running on first down in 10 for the oilers 7 45 remaining in the first half driving once again have the ball at their own 47 yard line this is their second pretty good drive that they've had tonight see if they can cap it off with anything run play to the right side just a basic trap play and i believe it's going to be missler in on the

058tackle [Music] just about filled up bleachers are pretty full and got the fence line filled up now we just need to get them into the game a little bit second and eight doubles to the right side you look how wide this running back is right now i'm gonna say they're gonna go to the right side and they do gonna be caught by number one he's gonna make one man miss and that's it it's gonna be five eagles after that making the tackle [Music] something there again you see four or five white hats getting the ball that's something that coach jermaine i know i've said it but he expresses that in practice all the time make sure everybody at least taps the taps the guy that was running the ball that's why you see all those

059white hats getting the football brennan wike in on the tackle in the linebacker position to force a third down and 12. [Music] in the air doubles to the left side wing back left tied into the right it's going to be another timeout by east alton that's going to be their third one of the half so if you got him might as well use them so we're going to send it to a break we've got just under six minutes remaining here in the first half where the eagles lead it seven to nothing over the oilers [Music] all right back ladies and gentlemen for the third and 12 gonna be a roll out to the left side good job forcing them back into the pocket now we just got to make a play and make a tackle

060and what do you know owen brewer is there to make the tackle kaczynski was there first forced it back in and a good job not letting him roll out yeah quarterback was running for his life there and broke a couple tackles on our d-line and a couple linebackers but didn't have enough uh power to get get to the first down and you're going to punt it away to mcconaughey here so after this punt we're going to send it back down to wibbs he's got his microphone on this time now so we'll hear what he has to say as east alton sends a man in motion going to be a high snap punk gets off in a duck knuckle ball and it's gonna be returned by mcconaughey he fumbles it a little bit he's got the

061sideline he spins off of one guy keeps his feet moving and almost breaks it once again we keep saying almost he's going to do it one time before the season's end so would be you're down there on the sideline been nothing but run run run on this game what's coach jermaine's thought process right now and trying to get that run stopped um he sold easton's uh offense is mostly wrong and his plan is just fill up the gaps and well it's especially with their uh doubles to one side and empty to the other uh blitz off the empty side and just blow up the gaps with the d-line it seems like they're doing a pretty good job before they've got zero points on the board right now gonna be a long pass play here by

062the eagles and it's gonna go through the hands of mistler it just went right through that's one of those quick out routes but not going to get anything out of it and coach warner he's doing the same thing he's keeping it on the ground and we're having success there good push by the offensive line tonight [Music] so whib when you were out you were a linebacker correct yes i was so we talked to jared we said you got to read your keys what's something that is you as a linebacker on a night like tonight what key are you looking at first uh he saw him runs like a pulling guard offense so if i was the right inside linebacker i would look at that my guard so it would be it would be the left

063guard and see if he's pulling and whichever way he'd go i would go because 95 of the time the guards are going to lead you to the ball so so you're almost making a triangle they're talking about looking at your two guards and then you're you're running back as the eagles complete the pass there to the outside and it's gonna be good for i'm gonna give them 10 and a half and a first down [Applause] i've never seen an official spot the ball on the outside carry the ball outside outside and that is good for a first down megan's in there and on the tackle wibbs you think we're getting in the end endzone this drive i i think we will i got faith in our offense the eagles lead it right now 7-0 4-40

064remaining in the first half sniffer back left tight end left run the ball to the left side mechanic he's going to try to get to the outside not going to be able to get anything wibbs will come to you at halftime and we'll see what the halftime mood is all right i'll see you then [Applause] gonna be a second down and 13 now for the eagles after the loss of three we said earlier that they're getting a good push up front that play not the case yeah went backwards on that one eagles are going to have double from the oilers 48 yard line running back to the right side vaguely is going to look to the left he's got the middle of the field he's got hicks open he's got hicks with nobody in front

065of him he's got hicks for a touchdown eagles [Applause] [Music] that looked like a slow developed play did it not that was one of those that you probably could have put a little hair underneath of it and let carter run into it but begley puts it on a line on a line and it's good for a 47-yard touchdown to carter hicks [Music] vaguely on for the p-a-t good snap good hold this time he gets it up and good is that baby powder they're throwing out down there the chalk [Music] [Applause] so that takes the mandy maguire group scoreboard 14 eagles zero oilers and jared you're on track right now for where you need to be you watch out man this defense is going to post that shutout tonight you can see the i missed it

066student section throw yeah it's still they're still throwing it over there yeah i can smell it too [Music] and a nice little a's going on baby powder fumes are in the air tonight [Music] so vaguely this time he's gonna kick it from right to left three minutes and 51 seconds remaining before our century 21 halftime show give you a little bit of stats we'll talk blue jays football we'll try to get a blue jay board member or somebody to coach something up here we'll talk about the importance of the blue jays as well bigly sends it deep but it's gonna hit at the one and almost check up where we wanted it to it's gonna get in by about a yard so it's gonna be east alton taking over from the 20-yard line so the

067eagles get the football coming out of halftime you think if we can get a quick stop you think coach warner and jermaine call timeout get up 21 oh yeah anytime you anytime coach horner can get more points on the board i think he's going to do it as long as he's not up by about 60 or 70 points but breaking the huddle east alton river 3 51 left in the first half see if they can get something going here it's going to be a handoff to the right and it's going to be sniffed out right away by it looks like 88 jay mistler shot right through the right through the line to make a tackle there and we've said his name a lot this year and he's still uh supplying for his defense and showing

068what he can do lost a two on the play there for the oilers he shot through like a cannon [Applause] get another stop get a timeout heck in columbia's got nine guys in the box we'll give them eight in the box gonna be a pass play to the left side number seven's got a slant that's under thrown to number one and then on the defense with sam denny i don't think he would have got anywhere even if the ball was caught now you got just what you want here another third down long i think they've only converted on maybe one of these third down longs tonight but see what coach germain draws here see if he's blitzing anybody on this next play a little more passing out of east alton in the second quarter here

069we kept saying oh they're gonna run they're gonna run they're gonna run they're changing it up on us four down linemen for the eagles sending a man on the blitz on the top side of the screen and that doesn't matter because owen brewer fumble on the play sam denny picked up by sam danny he's got to get to the pylon and i think he's going to oh they're going to call him out at the three [Applause] [Music] [Applause] white hat gave him a touchdown side judge called him out [Music] the winner's got them all pumped up in here we got everything all messed up here we got the band playing the fights on for first and ten [Music] so first and goal from the three eagles are in the huddle that's where we need what

070roxanna has with the the refs having their own own thing there telling us what happened so we're going to go heavy set mistler and hicks as your full backs and conic is running back vaguely takes the snap turns around hands the football off stuffed and stuffed and i'm going to have to call out hipsters block his guy that he was supposed to take into the end zone gets off of him real quick and shuts it down about a yard short [Music] so it's going to be a second and goal from the one now two minutes and 30 seconds remaining in the first half eagles lead at 14 nothing see if they have a corner on this side because i was going to see vaguely could pull it with the corners staying on this side so

071i don't think he could do a bootleg out of it just going to switch it up go to the left side it's gonna be the same play to the left side this time you dropped the ball no i didn't even hear a whistle yet [Music] he doesn't have the football with him [Music] still don't know who recovered the ball we didn't get into the end zone so it's a third and goal not good if we can't get in from the three i think you're doing the old tom brady qb sneak here put your head down vaguely and reach the ball across the goal line minute 30 now in the first half vaguely under center takes a snap he's going to take it himself and he's going to get into the end zone touchdown eagles [Music]

072[Applause] [Music] good snap good hold good kick he's good so that takes the mandy mcguire group scoreboard eagles 21. euler's zero j-rod you said 27-0 come on coach hunter score one more touchdown don't score any more than that i don't think either of us have ever got a prediction right either i don't think so i don't even know if we've gotten one side of the prediction yet yeah i don't think we have [Applause] i'm on pace though [Applause] miss an extra point coach kendall won't be happy about happy about that if we do but now you're putting a spot here to where you're kicking off with 125 and you're getting the ball in the second half [Applause] so if you can get a quick stop here no score go up three scores into the halftime

073and get the ball back coming out i think you're set up for shop for a good ending to this ball game vaguely sends it deep and this one will be caught at the five return man is going to try to get up to the middle of the field wike is the first one there makes a tackle number 22 lowers the shoulder and puts the boom on [Music] but that's as far as he gets i don't know who he hit but look like that was forced it might have been dalton rainwater and you heard all the oh the whole fan section over here whoa big hit there got right back up makes a stop i mean she's getting away slow them down like hitting a brick wall [Music] and he couldn't even tell me when that

074was so he texted me this morning said good luck tonight to the eagles doubles on the left side lean back to the right they're going to run it to the right with number 24 lowers his shoulder ellen brewer first one there i think 65 yep [Music] [Applause] one minute remaining here in this first half eagles up three touchdowns 21-0 and we will be receiving the second half kickoff second down and seven he's falling out of all of their timeouts i'd imagine that they're just gonna run the first half out this could be the last play of the half as we're under 40 seconds doubles to the left side two running backs gonna be a handoff once again to number 24. he's going to have his money's worth he gets through two tackles and he's brought

075down you're on the heart well [Music] he runs with his knees like he pulls his knees up really high and he digs into the ground and it's a great run there to set up a first play to the left side this time and nothing going the eagles are there and i think that might do it for the first half and that's a good play to end it on yeah i don't know if he's holding the river didn't have any timeouts there but up that big run i would have tried to i mean their quarterback you don't know if they has a great arm if you could throw the ball down the field but i would have taken at least a shot there on the eagle side of the eagles territory it's an official timeout with

076three seconds to go in the first half and it looked like the white hat was going to let it run down and finally called it off a couple seconds later so the century 21 halftime show we'll have the band performance out there and we're going to try to get a blue jay representative up here and talk about them once again let us know where you're coming from and listening from usually we have the whips text in by now so ribs where are you at tonight got your boy out on the sideline [Applause] let's see if we can find a score in that salem central game jared's the official tweeter just gotta look up 618 football people keep posting scores there's the webs there watch it on their way to murray kentucky i knew they were

077out there somewhere jerseyville is beating waterloo eight-nothing in the first quarter joshua mcconaughey watching from hoover alabama so we're gonna have one more play here in the first half gonna be a tight end to the right doubles to the left side gonna be another run to the right side with number 24 as the horn sounds it's a gain of four and that's gonna do it for the first half eagles lead it 21-0 as we enter into the century 21. we're going to get the band ready we're going to get ready for halftime up here we will be back right after this [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] uh [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh [Music] so [Applause] [Music] so [Music] another great proposal [Applause]

078hello [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the century 21 halftime show presented by century 21 where the eagles lead the oilers 21-0 we welcome into the to the booth here coach sandstrom coach sandstrom basketball coach this year how's the summer going how's the fall going we've been doing some camps and practices how's everything been shaping up so far it's been it's been real good it's uh nice to be back on the sidelines that's for sure uh we've got some hungry kids uh our numbers aren't great uh but our numbers aren't great you know and also across across the board you know um but i'm super excited getting back ready to go so it's good to get back into the gym and get back into that routine once again and we were talking schedule you

079said right off the bat you're starting with the top dogs in moscow and nashville so you're gonna see what you're made of right away yeah on paper the best two teams in the area probably are muscular in nashville and then uh bridge central's always always good and we get to play two of the best three teams right out of the gate and we don't really have a whole lot of varsity experience coming back so it'll be a completely new thing and new offensive scheme new defensive scheme and we're getting thrown to the wolves right away for sure you got some size this year you're going to be a perimeter team do you have that figured out yet or oh well normally i've been blessed with big old post kids my whole entire career and we

080don't really have a true post this year but we're going to be able to play a little bit different way we've got a bunch of athleticism across the board um we've got a very talented freshman group coming in that i've had the last two years at middle school uh we've got a very hungry uh junior class as well and then we've got glenn powers probably our only senior this year so like i said we've got a good mix but but those kids that i mentioned their basketball all the time and i'm super excited to get back going so we got the new cahokia conference and some teams that you haven't seen before but i mean you've been around long enough i think you might have seen them just in a regular season game so that

081new conference are there any teams out there that could shake things up i mean now you've got oakville in they're the medium division but are you going to be playing them every year right well we we've played we played oakville forever uh john krause is a great friend of mine and then he actually resigned and his assistant ryan heck has taken over so we play them we are actually in the mid-winter tournament at oakville this year as well uh i was really excited to see wood river get in because uh wood river uh their their field house is phenomenal it's a great place to play and then roxanna mark briggs is a personal friend of mine and uh he i actually went up and helped him out with practice the last couple years too so

082it's always good to have some bigger schools come in and we'll still play the teams that you know left in westland and carlisle moving to the middle division we'll still probably play them so it's nice to have some new people where you don't have to play teams three and four times you know i get it i get it well thanks for coming up you never know what's going to happen when you come up here you just get thrown to the wolves and you did a great job and we're interested to see i think we're going to do about a dozen games i think uh going to be calling the games with kchs hey i'm i'm all about that taylor taylor's already kind of talked to me about that so you guys being around is great

083and the support and help my parents are going to be able to watch the games at home in their living room from three and a half hours away so i'm very grateful that's what we like to hear so good luck this season and uh we'll be talking to you thanks alex we'll see you tomorrow rip more we'll see you at riddler appreciate it all right so now we'll get jared back in here jared good first half there by the eagles going up 21-0 and we're going gonna try to get that going once again as we get the opening kickoff right off the bat yeah and i think something we saw earlier was uh coach horner just running the ball trusting his o-line and trusting his athletes to make plays um having mcconaughey and vaguely back

084there um i think i think we'll be in good hands the rest of this game all right well that's gonna do it here for the century 21 halftime show we're gonna get situated we'll bring you the second half of this eagles and oilers matchup right after this [Music] [Applause] football here is the eagles are going to be taking the opening kickoff we'll see if that offense is going to run it down the throats if they're going to get it through the air and like we've talked before the the blue jays are where it all starts and we have president steve bieber with us tonight steve thanks for coming up thanks for having me so we talk a lot about vaguely and mcconaughey they're the two skilled guys and they started however many years ago mcconaughey

085the quarterback vaguely was the running back last week we got to see that and it all starts with you guys down at the lower level so tell me about your numbers that you got this year and your coaching staff and what you're expecting because i think you only have one loss in the first three weeks uh correct out of all all the the freshman sophomore jv and varsity we have one loss we are we have one of the biggest turnouts right now at about 107 players that we've had in quite some time it's looking like we're on the uptick that's what we like to see that's what we definitely like to see is the varsity i think we only have 39 guys on the roster so it's good to see the numbers up down at

086the lower level saigon there with the kick return caught a little bit of a pooch kick so everybody's keeping it out of the hands of the athletic kyle mcconaughey so you said one loss so you got four teams playing every weekend so then what are you sitting at eight and one right now seven something like that yeah so that's that's a pretty awesome feat and uh they're putting some points up all across the board it seems like every team we've got our homecoming game this sunday where all four teams are going to be playing starting at 10 o'clock eagles are going to have tight end right sniffer back right going to be a run to the right side with mcconaughey he's going to cut up field gain about four and get near midfield as the

087eagles have good starting field position once again so homecoming what does that entail i believe it's a bunch of partying pretty much right pretty much yep we'll have the concessions going we'll have uh some of the the past members board members and and other uh athletes that have played for us attend and we're going to have all four teams playing on one day which usually we split up saturday and sundays same formation and looks like the same play once again and this time sniffed out by the oilers so you talk about your board members they're pretty big but also your coaches it looks like you got two three four coaches at every level and in our video that we showed you know they're teaching the fundamentals and you know everybody looks at coach horner and

088says hey you're doing a great job but in reality it starts with you guys you got to show them how to tackle and do everything from the start gotta take that six-year-old teach them a three-point stance yeah how to carry a ball you know it's uh teaching the love of the game that's really what it's all about in the fundamentals and then they can build off going forward try the hard count there for the eagles saigon didn't get them to budge gonna move mcconaughey to the left side of vaguely gonna be a pass play they're gonna look to the flat try to get the middle of the field where they got meginson and it's over the hands of the defender and through the hands of meganson look like it hit him in the in the

089arms could have been a catchable ball very much so and it would have been a huge gain maybe even a touchdown so yeah how do you take a six-year-old and say hey here's a three-point stance and all he wants to do is roll around in the grass and right he just wants to hang out so what's about legos and fortnite that's all they want to do so what's the key in getting everybody to focus we always joke it's hurting kittens you know that's that's what it is you've got to keep them uh engaged you got to split them up in groups everybody you can't have that that uh what you can with older kids where they're kind of watching and learning from watching they've got to be engaged they're going to be doing something if

090not you're going to lose them the attention span is definitely short vaguely with another booming spiraling punt is going to fall at the 11 and it's going to be almost downed we were there once again denny tries making the diving play but the ball goes into the end zone and it's going to be a touch back so you are the sophomore coach correct and so you guys are sitting what eight nine years old i believe yeah third and fourth graders uh eight to ten um and uh we've got a pretty good number we got 30 kids so now you got to get 30 kids into the ball game correct that is a chess match in itself every every game day so you've got four coaches with you and how many coaches do you typically keep

091on each team do you try every team has usually at least four uh no more than six is league roles oilers are going to take over from their own 20 with 10 25 remaining on the quarry pharmacy scoreboard here at the multi-purpose field trips to the right side they're going to run it to the left two eagles out there got to make a play and they do looks like meganson in on the tackle for no gain at all so if a kid wants to get in obviously it's a little too late to play this year but do they need to go to a website to sign up do you have sign ups and registration throughout the year how does that work absolutely we usually do a early sign up in july june july and then

092that will cut off and then we'll have another walk up at the end of july beginning of august usually the first week of august is when practices start second and nine for the oilers eagles got everybody up in the box it's going to be hand off to number 24. it's going to be sniffed out right away by owen brewer and jay mister how many guys out here on the field right now were blue jay players so we were talking about this uh it's kind of amazing to watch them do the nebraska prayer before the game and i know exactly where that started with coach o'brien at the blue blue jay level um the first time i had seen it my oldest uh donovan was in seventh grade and they just everybody's carried that on and

093it's kind of a cool tradition it gives you goosebumps when you listen to it third down and seven you think coach g is bringing the house here gonna be a pass play to the right side number 17 is going to catch it and lose his balance it's a good thing he did because i think if he would have turned it upfield he might have got it [Music] good pursuit there by the eagles missler chasing the quarterback down we've got 8 45 remaining here in the third quarter talking with president of the blue jays steve steve bieber we'll see what happens here on this fourth down and three [Applause] one fan trying to get into it can't get anybody to follow six guys on the line of scrimmage here comes a seventh here comes an eighth

094they're going to run the football to the right side and they're not gonna get it gonna be another huge stop by the eagles defense led by owen brewer and that's somebody this year we've said his name a bunch it was a nice stop so in a night like tonight blue jay night you get with coach horner and the high school and everybody how cool is it the night's about you guys it's about the junior cheerleaders it's about the little ones and that's who's building the program so how cool is it for all of them to come out here it's fantastic have a good relationship with coach horner in the organization and these kids think that this is the coolest thing ever you know it's coming down being able to run through the tunnel like the

095big boys empty back field for the eagles we're going to have mcconaughey down the middle of the field mcconaughey's by himself and it's going to be intercepted in the end zone they're going to bring it out to number 22. he's one of the running backs in a speedster he's going to nearly get tripped up now he's going to keep his feet moving and what do you know he's going to be brought down by number 65 you look at coach horner there talking to vaguely i think if he would have thrown that ball right off the bat nobody was around mcconaughey he waited a little bit too long resulting in the pick but i like the play there you get the big fourth down stop go for the end zone absolutely take the shot so the

096oilers are going to take back over at the 37-yard line steve thanks for coming up thanks for having me have a good season and we'll get back with you again and we'll try to get some more interest at the blue jay level for you fantastic that's what i like to hear steve beaver the president of the blue jays with us eagles send everybody onto blitz and it's going to be sniffed out right off the bat number 24 has nowhere to go i don't think mistler even knew that he was right there and they were standing face to face with each other coach horner wanted to take a shot there huh first play and he had it about three seconds earlier [Applause] now coach g got to get another stop eagles lead it 21-0 here on

097the mandy maguire group scoreboard in a week six cahokia conference matchup where the eagles are in a must-win game to keep those playoff hopes alive [Applause] second and ten running back left quarterbacks looking to the left going to be a pass play on a quick hitch and it's going to be a drop good pursuit there by the eagles vaguely was ready to light him up he was playing in this outside linebacker position if that wide receiver caught that ball he was he was going to take a hit there from vaguely and [Applause] chop the ball third down must have heard footsteps third and 10 702 remaining here at the columbia multi-purpose field we ever going to name it something i don't know i don't how could you name it do you name it after a

098football i think person in the past do you name it after soccer do you name it after a track you got a lot of options yeah you do i know what mine would be i think i would i know what yours would be too doubles the left side quarterback looking to left again mcconaughey took a shot it's gonna be a long pass play for the oilers who are going to get into the end zone [Applause] for a 63-yard touchdown pass to number 17. there goes my shutout [Applause] i missed what the route was i was looking at the quarterback he had everybody in his face and he took a shot on the play i think he just ran a straight go route and just ran right by i believe that would be meganson out there

099on that side so that takes it columbia 21. [Applause] east alton six we'll see what they're gonna do they're gonna go for two it looks like [Applause] same formation we've seen all night with sniffer back sending a man in motion to number one they're gonna hand the ball off to number one he's gonna try to get up field and get in the middle he's gonna be stood up and they're gonna blow it dead and it's gonna be stopped by the eagles defense that was a late whistle so that's going to make it 21-6 with 6 54 remaining in the third quarter we're going to send it to a break and we will be back to the columbia multi-purpose field after this [Music] watch my tables welcome back ladies and gentlemen where the eagles lead the

100mandy maguire group scoreboard 21-6 over the oilers they kicked a little pooch kick last time caught by saigon we'll see what they're gonna do this time gonna be a pooch kick to the other side this time it is gonna trickle out of bounds mcconaughey was there ready to pick it up if need be so the eagles once again are going to have good starting field position and something that we've dominated all night tonight we haven't really been backed up at all looks like they're doing a re-kick [Applause] i knew that i think you can either take it from the 40 or a re-kick right if it goes out of balance i don't know and now they kick it from the 35. so we'll try this again let's see if mcconaughey can pick this one up

101it's going to be an onside kick this time picked up by nobody else but owen brewer [Applause] owen brewer the senior he's going to be in just about every play it seems like and it's going to be somebody we're going to have to have to fill in next year but he's making his presence known this year once again let us know where you're listening from and watching from coach sandstrom mentioned that it's going to be awesome having his parents be able to watch the games from three and a half hours away and it's what we enjoy about doing this doubles to the right side sniffer back right pistol back is mcconaughey it's going to be a handoff up the middle and nowhere to go for mcconaughey as he is hit right at the line of

102scrimmage now looks i look straight at the sideline after that play and you saw travis anson wasn't wasn't really uh happy with that one coach jameson working with the line a lot someone must miss a block there on a pull that was just a simple uh we see that play all the time just a simple little inside inside zone with uh mcconaughey and someone must have missed a block there so [Applause] mcconaughey wanted to go empty he's going to go back by vaguely under 10 seconds on the play clock gonna be a wheel route it looks like we got the middle of the field open again it's going to be caught by hicks he's going to be brought down after a gain of six and that's going to bring up a manageable third down and

103four vaguely was looking to go deep there to mcconaughey it looked like mcconaughey and he looked like he had meganson over here and i think that's why mcconaughey was thinking he would uh go an empty position so he'd already be out there in that position because from him in that running back position you're kind of not giving it away as much as you are as uh when you're in a wide receiver position 5 30 remaining in the third quarter eagles lead it 21-6 third and four going to be a straight hand off to mcconaughey he's going to follow his backers he's gonna get enough for a first down he's gonna be brought down in bounds it's gonna be first down eagles good job by mistler they're sealing that edge and giving mcconaughey a place to

104run [Music] same formation same play mechanic he's gonna bust it to the outside once again he's going to get another five seven yards and bring up a second two you going for it here second and two take a shot you saw vaguely throw an interception uh earlier just because he didn't throw it early enough but i think uh i think you're staying on the on the ground here with mcconaughey these last two three plays he's uh looked pretty good with the line blocking in front of him so i'd give him a chance to punch another one and then if slurs out wide it's going to be a stretch played in mechanic you know it's not it's going to be a run to vaguely who's going to make a great attempt at running over a guide

105he's going to be tripped up and it's going to bring up a first down and ten inside the red zone [Applause] [Music] first and ten for the eagles from the 12. 4 22 remaining in the third quarter and the week six matchup between the two and three eagles and one in four oilers trips to the right side only five guys in the box now for the oilers gonna be a handoff right up the middle who's gonna be met right away as mcconaughey but he keeps his feet moving they're still moving they're moving his way into the end zone for a columbia eagles touchdown [Applause] [Music] once again a late call by the officials i gave it to mcconaughey and i don't even know if the officials knew that it's a touchdown so mcconaughey keeps his

106feet moving and gets into the end zone takes it to 27-6 good snap good hold vaguely takes it to 28-6 [Music] we got for scores here tonight jared at the half central was leading salem 7-0 waterloo is beating jerseyville 21-8 with four minutes to go that's a team we'll play at the end of the year isn't it jerseyville and we still got so who else we could still get on the schedule so we got salem we go to salem next week and we got breeze at home and then at jersey vote then at jerseyville got to get the five wins as the magic number to get you playoff eligible then it depends on the playoff points and i think we should have enough playoff points which is your opponent's wins added up freeberg's leading roxanna

10727-7 that was 7-6 roxanna 21 unanswered points by freebird highland league civic memorial and columbia leads east alton wood river vaguely sends it deep and it will be down at the four and go into the end zone where the oilers will take over from the 20-yard line three minutes and 58 seconds remaining if i can look at the stats real quick vaguely he's been putting the ball in the end zone more times than not it seems like lately yeah the first week or two we were talking about how the returning team would get the ball almost to midfield if not the opposing 40. so it's good it's good to start off your defense out on the 20-yard line and not give the other team good field position to start off their drive vaguely averaging 50

108yards 49.5 yards a kick and punting for 40 yards a kick again that's another skewed number he's getting 66 yards one time and 30 the next doing good on the special team side of the football empty back field this time for the oilers they're going to send the sniffer back to a running back and a timeout eastern [Applause] we're going to send it down to our on-field reporter and adam adam with meyer wibbs what was the uh the feeling coming out of the locker room here in the second half they seemed pretty excited they had a fresh start um obviously half didn't go the way they wanted to but struggling to get but it's like they're getting to pick it up now and stopped it stopped you off until you saw a move that's exactly

109what we need to do and you look at vaguely they're looking looking deep throws the pick but then you know still doesn't matter we get into the end zone 28-6 here jared expected the shutout tonight gives up that big play and that's something the eagles haven't really done this year is giving up the big play and that's something coach jermaine just doesn't do either eagles are going to be defense first down and 10 for the oilers gonna run the ball right up the middle not going to get anything wibbs it's a good job this year by the eagles doing nothing but gang tackling and uh that makes it a little bit easier if you get one guy on the ball and you got six guys following it makes tackling pretty easy yeah especially [Music] they

110got some they got some big kids on each other they're in taking down one of those dudes by yourself ain't an easy task it's just so much better with when you got two three four even five guys i'm the same guy at the same time so second and ten here on the play you expecting a pass here out of east alton or you think they're going to run the football again what are you thinking he's got zach daley down there with him in his ear oh yeah doubles to the left side running back left eagles are going to send a blitz they're going to pass to the left side and it's going to go through the hands [Applause] of the intended receiver third down and 10. do you think the eagles are going to try

111to get in the end zone one more time before the third quarter's over with i think i think they're gonna try that they got three at the 20-yard line they're going to stop here and coach warner's offense they could definitely get in the end zone all right well we'll get back with you one more time in the fourth quarter that's adam wiebemeyer our on-field reporter here tonight [Applause] gonna be a third and ten trips to the right side empty backfield gonna have three guys coming at us and it's gonna be a counter play that's gonna be sniffed out by jay missler read that like a book didn't he like a children's book and yeah i think he was sitting right over that tackle and that that tackle was pulling and that that backside running back

112kind of stayed there after the after the snap was called and didn't really move and then he went and got the hand off and jay mister was just standing there ready for him to run through that hole and bring up a fourth down fourth and nine for the oilers 2 30 remaining in the third quarter punter gets a somewhat of a spiral off and it's going to be downed by coach kendall right at the 50 yard line acts like nothing ever happened that's a coach kendall move just catch it as it hits the ground and just walk away like he was supposed to be there so the eagles are going to take over in oiler territory with 224 remaining on the corey pharmacy clock here at the multi-purpose field i think you take a shot

113here you're you're within distance of making it i'm running the clock down you're taking the clock down yeah i like points especially whenever i had it 30 or no what i have 41 13 i need a couple more points double the left side running back to the right we're going to fake the hand off to the left vaguely going to keep the block right there he's going to make one man miss he's got enough for a first down he's going to get inside boiler territory make it to about the 28 on a very good run by vaguely look like carter hicks might have missed a block out there but vaguely made a miss and picked up the first down move us inside the 30-yard line see if we can put another six up here before

114uh fourth quarter comes upon us trips to the left side gonna be a stretch play coming here if i had to guess you look how far mistler is and it's gonna be a stretch play to the left side mcconaughey's gonna have to make one man miss and get slung to the ground great play by number 35 making the tackle how's the dylan hildebrand tackle right there every single i swear every time we we played the game of football that dude literally just grabbed you by your shoulder pad and just throw you on the ground he never wanted to wrap up that would hurt too because you get slung to the ground i'd rather get hit by the guy than that hit that hit on the ground does not not feel very good empty backfield for

115the eagles saigon's the far out receiver everybody's looking deep they got a man in the end zone it's mechanical and it's incomplete half a yard too far that would have been a heck of a grab that's your chance to make it on sc top 10 right there could you imagine if one of our calls got on there unlike the sports center top ten and we're calling it up here it could happen we got to see if mr nickerson will send them off to you for us that'd be pretty awesome looks like a little bit of the crowd trickled his way out most of that crowd in that beginning was those cheerleaders and the blue jay kids uh start off the night third and sixth for the eagles doubles the left side sniffer back left gonna

116be a run play with vaguely he's gonna keep it he's gonna make a spin move going to try to make a juke and he's going to get enough for a first down as he is down at the 15 yard line good for another columbia eagles first down and when you run those rpos there you got three options there i mean you can hand it off to mcconaughey there vagley which he does a lot of the time pulls it and keeps it and runs the opposite way or the third outlet on that is sometimes you have a wide receiver kind of floating in the middle of the middle of the field like a little stick route or a little drag route across the middle doubles gonna be quick hitches this one caught by colin sagan keeps

117his feet moving and he's wrapped up right away good tackle it's good for four yards cj schlemmer comments listening from the aces wild headquarters he's getting ready for that uh coming up i have work but maybe after come get some lunch yeah i could second and six eagles trying to punch it into the end zone once again we're looking into the end zone it's going to be a slant to carter hicks he's going to get to the five to the three and he's going to be brought down and give the eagles a first and goal and i think that's going to do it for the third quarter there's only 15 seconds remaining [Applause] the official lines the clock i don't think coach horner sees how much time is on the clock now you got coach

118germain in his ear telling him let it go to quarter coke [Music] and that's going to do it at the end of three quarters the eagles lead the oilers on the mandy maguire group 28-6 we will be back with fourth quarter action right after this [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen for fourth quarter action here in a cahokia conference matchup and a must win for the eagles and they're taking care of business up 28 to six let's win gotta get those playoff implications are all over the place right now we got the three losses you can get in at five and four but it's not pretty if you do all the time if we get to that six and three it's possible gotta win out gotta take care of business here tonight first doubles running

119back left first and goal from the three gonna be a pass play on a quick hook and it's caught by colin saigon touchdown eagles [Music] vaguely taking his time getting set good snap good hold that's a soaring kick through the uprights hey man those kickers got to get it got to get it right every step matters let's walk back there and kick it that takes the manny mcguire group scoreboard eagles 35 oilers of east alton six cheerleaders got their work cut out for him tonight i'm just saying folks i had that 34-13 prediction we're sitting at 35-6 will you give it to me if i'm off by a point yeah i appreciate it we got to give up one more touchdown i don't want to do that [Applause] [Music] even got a couple blue jay

120guys down there tonight going to get the t after every kickoff so i remember i used i used to do that back in the day and i'd be so scared to run out there trip and fall and i'd be like oh all the fans are going to see me they were all watching you the entire time so vaguely is going to send it deep from left to right this time kicking towards the scoreboard and another long kick that's going to be caught at the one gonna be returned by east alton they're going to try to get up the middle of the field gonna be great job tackling there by the eagles number 17 jacobs sam denny was down there and there was another guy who got his hands wrapped around by number three zach wetzel

121getting the tackle the freshman mason vaguely getting in on the tackle as well not bad when you have a junior and dominic vaguely is your quarterback and the freshman and mason maybe is your backup you think there's some rivalries happening at home there oh yeah with x-man he's even oh yeah a couple years younger than that too doubles to the left side tight end right sniffer back wing back right wing backs the motion man columbia read that motion and they tried to stop him and they ran underneath and it's a fumble on the plate it's going to be recovered by the eagles fumble recovery by the eagles [Applause] [Music] officials getting together now and it's going to be eagles football joe kish with that recovery too big 75 playing right tackle on the offensive side

122and something that we have that a lot not a lot of other teams have in this conference is a couple big guys that can play both sides of the ball i mean you got a couple of linemen that can also play defensive side i mean you got grant matheny kaczynski you got a bunch of guys that can play both lines which is can be very beneficial mcconaughey is going to go up the middle he's going to get a couple yards he's going to keep his feet moving he's going to get a couple more he's gonna get eight he was stopped at second and eight now we got a second and two great job keeping your feet moving kyle [Music] 11 minutes remaining in the ball game doubles to the left side tight end left is

123missler [Applause] vagley's going to let the clock run down we're under 10 seconds now on the play clock running back to the left gonna be a high snap brought down gonna be a play action caught by mistler he's got a lot of using meganson he lets his man go he doesn't get the hold touchdown missler dives and stopped at the one meganson with a pancake block over there and that job by letting him go and not getting hold on the play yeah and that's that's that's the biggest block on that play because if no one makes a block on that corner mistlers that corners licking his chops for missler coming right at him when his head he'll have to swing his whole head around after he catches that ball so that block out there really

124matters and great job by meganson to put him on his butt and get to the one yard line so first and goal from the one he looked like he reached for the pylon though didn't his knee must have been down we need that pylon view that's what nickerson needs now he needs to put a pylon cam over there time out on the play the pylon can if your business would like to sponsor any of the athletic events or the fine arts events contact coach horner at the school and talk to him on how to become a sponsor or a donor we have started taking for the band and choir concerts i believe there's a couple plays too so if you want to be the feature sponsor get a hold of coach horner and we'll get

125you some advertising space or if you want to stick with sports i'm sure we'll get some going for the winter sports the spring sports like we said earlier we're going to do about 10 or so boys basketball and girls basketball games oh we're doing girls basketball too huh i believe so i don't know for sure but i know we're doing boys and i think they were talking trying to get the girls going as well so coming out of the timeout eagles are going to have first down and goal from the one and a beautiful fall night here in columbia the rain has held off so far tonight [Applause] hopefully it holds off tomorrow for you too got that rib or for you guys let's punch [Applause] break the huddle they're going to go heavy formation

126heavy to the right side turn around hand it off to mcconaughey who's going to try to get it to the outside he's going to have to outrun a man and he does and he gets in for another columbia eagles touchdown ran 15 yards to get one yard [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i guess you could say he likes bouncing it out a little bit yeah every now and then yeah how many times has he stayed between the tackles he thinks this year oh man i mean when he bounces it out though he makes guys miss and he reverses field great on his feet and great vision mcconaughey with his second or third touchdown of the night good snap good hold another booming kick and that takes us with 10 minutes and 36 seconds remaining on the corey

127pharmacy scoreboard eagles 42 east alton wood river six so now both of our predictions are wrong maybe one week we will alex maybe one week see if i can find some more scores here around the area chester beats carlisle 55-0 wow to improve to five and one chester beat freeburg earlier this year as well moscuda leading triad 21-3 i can't find that um central and salem score anywhere it was 27-7 but oh no 7-0 vaguely's going to send it deep once again with 10 36 remaining in the ball game kicks the t this time and it's going to be a muff at the 21 it's still bouncing around and finally it's recovered at about the 17. sam denny's down there he tried getting another fumble recovery so the eagles are going to improve here tonight

128to three and three coach horner improves to 7-1 and chs have improved 8-1 over east alton river they we used to open with them every year correct whenever they were because i my junior and senior year they we didn't have them on our schedule anymore because we got morton but like previous years i believe that they were like our number one game for five six years there i know we played east all or no i'm sorry only in week one and then the next year they started with east halton yeah in the 2012 season gonna be a handoff once again try to go up the middle and i think it's fumbled on the play nope they're going to call them down so it's going to be a gain of nothing a loss of nothing is

129there's an injured oiler in on the play we're sitting with 10 18 remaining in the ball game we're gonna head to a break with the injury and we will be back with the remainder of the game after this [Music] so it's a second and 10 10 18 remaining in the ball game clock's going to start on the official gonna be a high snap and it's going to be fumbled on the play and it's going to be covered up by the quarterback [Music] [Applause] looks like we got some of our younger guys coming in now for our starters zach wetzel coming off kish coming off and you've got mistler all those guys already sitting out over here on the bench so next week we will be at salem we're still seeing about a broadcast last year

130we had some trouble broadcasting there so we're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to make it happen so be on the lookout during the coach's corner on thursday another time after that timeout oilers with 9 26 remaining and you could hear their head coach yelling from from over here but next week holton meets coach's corner will be on thursday night at 6 30. we will be able to fill you in more about salem last year we had everything set up down below all sudden they say no you guys are going up top so we went up top we were up top and they said nope you guys are down below so we said no no we're going to stay up top here but being out in salem didn't have ship yeah

131shiver me timbers we were up there we were up there my teeth chatter and i'll know to bring a a jacket next time and go to salem because when you're up there on that on that top shelf man that wind's blowing and it is not very comfortable up there and to think that's how it used to be done up here oh i know i know [Applause] so coming out of the timeout third and 17 from the 10. send it to motion man to the right side it's going to be number one with the handoff he's going to get to the right side he's going to try to get a first down and he's going to be close and i think they're going to give it to him on the 18-yard gain good for an oiler

132first down he was flying around that edge just a simple jet sweep there and was that about third and 20 something third and 17. picked up the first down clock keeps moving nine minutes remaining in the ball game now as it's been all the eagles all night coach baker coach stuff made their way down to the sideline from the press box ball on the right hash gonna be a handoff to number 24 once again he just lowers the boom number 24 brought down [Music] chase to queasy all three guys coming in making the tackle there getting white hats to the ball it's all that matters on that defensive side of the ball [Music] second four eight minutes remaining doubles to the left side tight end and a wing back for the oilers gonna be a

133hand off up the middle to number 24 the big guy rumbling and stumbling he's going to try to get to the sideline he's going to be brought down this time by number 25 mason vaguely it's going to be good for another first down oilers i don't know if i ever asked you who's your favorite uh sports announcer he had to pick one us burger's pretty good yeah for me it's almost like each sport has their own voice you know everybody hates on joe buck i like him oh man come on come on i'll go all right for baseball i'll go joe okay baseball baseball yeah i like it better as a baseball announcer that's just my opinion i'm gonna be over at the busch stadium for sunday's game it's gonna be mike shannon's final game

134would you look at that handoff up the middle to number 24. he's going to get a couple yards here nothing much bring up a second down for football though like i said vern whenever he's on that he used to be what cbs i guess it was like three o'clock three o'clock game yeah mine's probably all michael's and chris collinsworth because i just think those are the every sunday night game man it's just you hear those voices and you know it's a big game you're worried about their voices i'm worried about gary underwood getting the sunday football kicked off second and eight for the oilers gonna hand the ball off up the middle number 24. he's gonna find a cutback lane he's gonna gain six [Applause] uh what's his name bill raftery onions that guy got

135gus johnson there's so many great commentators out there got alex schlemmer no no third and one from the 41. six minutes remaining in the ball game boilers trying to get in the end zone one more time here doubles to the left side tied in right wing background run the ball to the right side with number 24 puts his shoulder down runs over an eagle and he's going to be brought down by two others looks like 25 vaguely [Music] there's another one over there it's in the 20s i can't see the second number so two eagles making a tackle again who are you going with baseball who are you going with nothing give me my uh what's his name mclaughlin up there and jim edmonds yeah just give me give me the cardinals ones i don't

136watch enough baseball to i'm just not a huge joe buck fan myself same formation this time the wing back's going to be the motion man quarterback's going to keep it to the right side running against the grain and it's going to be a flock of eagles making the tackle after a four-yard gain all right so we'll go mba who you got an nba oh man nba i guess mike breen or reggie miller i'll take your word for it definitely not bill walton no i would not have let you say that we would have turned your microphone off what about dick by towel oh jay billis oh baby second and six gonna flip the formation under five seconds on the play clock they get it off they're gonna run underneath get back to the line of

137scrimmage and that's it looks like number eight in on the carry so a new running back there next week like we said we go to salem we'll let you know about a broadcast after that we come home for homecoming and senior night on the 16th of october versus the central cougars after that will be week nine at jerseyville i believe the panthers and that could be a do or die game once again gotta win them all out to get in the playoffs pass play to the left side to number one he's been out here all night a boy that's crazy [Applause] loss of one on the play and a great job by chase making the tackle i'm gonna give a big shout out to uh in case we're not going next week to salem to

138my sister who's getting married next weekend big congrats to her and dylan can't wait for next week fourth and eight now for the oilers from the 21-yard line three minutes and 20 seconds remaining on the ball game coach jermaine wants his players on the other side of the formation and gets him over there in time gonna be a pass play to the right side just a quick hitch can be caught at the 15 they get enough for a first down and it's going to be first and goal for the oilers [Applause] [Music] come on don't let them score another one here [Applause] wood river averaging seven points a game [Music] in columbia giving up what 25. scoring 20. average going up average going down first and goal from the eight two minutes and 40 seconds

139remaining in the ball game eagles are gonna have seven men in the box they're gonna hand it off to number eight who's gonna bend it to the outside and he's gonna get in for a touchdown oilers [Applause] travis skinner [Applause] 42-12 east alton going to be going for two once again tell me did you do a push-up count tonight he did not he does a push-up count every week with the cheerleaders hand off to the right for the two-point conversion looks like he's stumbling in but might be short and he is and that brings the score to 42 to 12. eagles lead the oilers with 234 42 left in this week six matchup and i guess we can send it to a quick little break here and we'll come back and finish off this uh

140last 234. [Applause] [Music] i have another pooch fair caught and kneeled by jay missler at the 29 yard line looks like we're going to have the second string offense out on the field as well [Music] i'd imagine the eagles keep it on the ground keep that clock moving and hopefully end up in a victory formation here are we done with whibby for tonight we're done with woody for the night [Music] so we're gonna have trips right bunch running back to the left side of the freshman vaguely he's going to hand the football off to the right side and try to cut up the field game four yards and rainwater it's dalton rainwater in on the carrick 34. jared i'm glad you're here because you look at these guys numbers and names one time you know

141who they are alex i can remember numbers and names from the 2007 team i can't remember some names from last year already i don't know numbers and names just they stick to me that's with every sport second and six doubles to the left side sniffer back left rainwater is going to take the handoff go right up the middle he's going to gain two and that's it like you said look like rainwater got a little bit of an early start there but not calling anything hey we didn't get any rainwater tonight that's a good thing so who's your player of the game you think tonight oh man i think i mean just from the flashes and the in the amount of yardage i mean mcconaughey was all over the place tonight on the offensive side of

142the ball um on the defensive side i mean you had hats to the football all night our whole d-line i think played really well the first couple drives didn't look very strong we were kind of letting wood river run all over us but second half adjustments uh we clamped down and made some plays on the defensive side of the ball and forced some punts which was nice the snap is left a little bit it's going to be a loss of one look like those just designed quarterback we're gonna have to punt it one more time as there's a 10 second differential i agree with you the defense the first couple drives a little sketchy but they ended up making the adjustments that they needed to coach tremaine made the adjustments he needed to and we

143get the stops and for the most part kept him out of the end zone tonight so i'm i'm thrilled with how the defense looked offensively again on the offensive line not too many sacks that i can think of off the top of my head so i think it's a good game by the eagles here we get a little lackadaisical starting the second quarter he'll take just so we uh get as much time off the clock as we can and this will likely be if the ball stays in play here like would be the last play of the game they might get one more offensive snap with nine seconds remaining and the eagles up 42-12 in this week six match-up vaguely on the punt dominic this time on the punt he's gonna get a big pun

144off from the 20 and it goes out of bounds at the 25 one second on the clock one second remaining eight seconds of hang time there [Applause] looking at our comments here cj schlemmer jack buck we will see you tomorrow night and then son so jack did that back in 2004 i believe it was and then we all know the 2011 david freeze david freeze and that was his son joe buck calling it so i think i could agree that i'd give you chills any time you watch people sleep on the hit by berkman that put us in that position i think that was the same game yeah i think we were down like we were like nine to six and he got like a a double and scored like two three runs we're talking

145baseball right now alex hey it's that time of year post season baseball cardinals got in losing to the cubs right now but that doesn't really matter [Applause] yeah 3-2 at least alton is going to run one more play paul's going to go up the middle to number eight he's going to try to make a couple men miss and he's going to be slung down to the ground and that's going to do it week six goes to the eagles as they beat the oilers on the mandy mcguire group scoreboard 42-12 improved to 2-1 in the conference 3-3 overall keeping themselves alive for the postseason gonna have to win out gonna have to win two of three if they want to get in so eagles got the job done here tonight a good game all the way

146throughout no real complaints and uh good thing we stayed healthy we're gonna have to come back next week at salem and that's a long bus ride up there for those kids and that's gonna be a big game because next week the next two weeks after that i mean you got bree central at home who's always uh always going to be a good game and then you got to go to jerseyville and you never know what can happen up there i know whenever i was a senior we played up there refs didn't really like us start walked into that building probably down 14-0 so anytime you uh you you gotta you gotta win win games and you just gotta rally the troops and you gotta get your guys ready for the next week you can celebrate

147this one tonight and this weekend and then monday you gotta come ready to work for a pretty good salem team that's a big thing though spirit sprints start on monday afternoon can't take any off at this point of the year i mean everybody's out for the same goal and the same thing and uh you just got to take it one week at a time so it's already week seven alex this year is flying by and next week is already week seven so three and three eagles now though back in the 500 position which is always a good sign and makes the coaches a lot happier makes the players a lot happier and definitely makes our job a little bit easier uh when we're winning games so great job tonight well that's going to do it

148for us from up in the booth like to thank you all for watching and tuning in once again support everybody who supports us go to our sponsors we ask that you keep it local especially now with everything that's going on so next week tune in for the holton meets coaches corner at 6 30 on thursday night and if you're not doing anything tomorrow one of the other sponsors the aces wild pregame show aces wild has their rib board tomorrow starting around 12 o'clock everybody's gonna be up there between 11 and 12. so come on up get some barbecue and uh we'll see you for a good time from aces wild so that's going to do it for us up here tonight eagles win this one 42-12 we'll see you next week go eagles baby [Music]
