welcome to our june board meeting i guess we're going to start with our we have a uh public hearing so we'll call it order and kimberly can you do a roll call boat please adam humpkin yeah tammy hines andrea corey yeah greg meyer here scott middle camp here mrs schumacher here tyson search here all right the presentation of the amended budget perfect too okay what you have before you is the actual revenues that we've received so far and the expenditures we've done all the payroll for the rest of this month um of note you really go to page two and page three are the two things that are of the most interest originally when we did our budget um i projected seven hundred thousand dollars in the red for the education fund and i told

you all at that time when i told the board at that time that um we had projected the year before to be balanced and we were seven thousand seven hundred thousand in the black so seven hundred thousand in the red i was hoping to becoming balanced we ended up 265 000 in the black so we did well the only fun that was in the negatives was the o m fund and that's a million six in the red however um we got all of the revenue last fiscal year for those big projects and we expended a lot of big projects last summer and so although that is in the red um it's not really representative because we're cash basis so we only go from july to june and we got a we were really in the

black last year i guess is what i'm saying but then if you go to the next page to line 81 you'll see what our fund balances are and we're still looking very very strong as far as our fund balance so there's no deficit reduction plan nothing of that nature until i will entertain any questions comments regarding the any budget comments hearing none we'll go on to item number three which is public comments if you don't have any public comments no public comments all right with that i've entertained a motion to adjourn from our public hearing i'll make a question adam thank you a second at least a second roll call please kimberly adam humpkin yes tammy's not here andrea corey hi craig meyer yes scott middle camp all right lisa schumacher yes tyson search right

that was yes painless all right with that we will call the regular scheduled school board meeting for june to order i guess we need to rope up it again yes yes okay tammy's not here andrea corey yeah greg meyer yes scott middleton here lisa schumacher here tyson search here we have a quorum i can welcome visitors i think we have a visitor there i see madison is uh replacing james moss um he left the republic times and so she's going to be our new reporter so wonderful she'll see her monthly welcome yes all right we have a chance for public comments anything you want to say the only public here so here's your chance i'm okay all right perfect thank you all right uh i think correspondence is anything going around or no correspondence this

month okay perfect moving on to the consent agenda if we had time to review this yeah there were no um key changes or anything like that uh i do want to point out that the employment of the educational support personnel there's four cooks those are all really less employments and more transfers cara etherington will becoming a head cook from a normal cook so there's a pay differential with that but other than that they're not really they've been employed here before we are still looking for five cooks we are still looking for three bus drivers and we are still looking for two monitors um i want that to be known and we'd be excited to take any applicants uh that said though the consent agenda or recommend that we approve as presented any questions concerns comments

all right here now i'd entertain a motion to approve the content consent agenda as presented so move like scott a second i'll cycle thank you tyson roll call please andrea corey hi greg meyer yes scott middleton hi lisa schumacher yes tyson search yes adam hunkin aye all right motion passes on item six is our communication reports and presentations we do not have a principles report this month and we probably won't have one next month being summer and all but we can then move to the assistant superintendent's report so i have been finishing up the end of the year state reports however this year they've pushed back the due date a little bit probably because of all the changes in attendance reporting and all these kinds of things that have come down so the state has

made that the end of july so kim and i have been working on getting as much as we possibly can done so today really the only thing that's left is those kids who are in our summer school both our esy and our general education summer school to exit from the state and the registration process is should be ready to go in july parents will be getting a letter at the end of june with the directions and the dates for that window the iar preliminary scores were released yesterday so i know that when alyssa comes in and the admin team meets they'll be starting to look at how we did in terms of this you know covidier with with our performance as a reminder that's just mostly internal for us to kind of look at and

use for a data piece for making some plans um and then i did meet with alyssa smith uh was it this week monday or i can't remember and we spent a couple of hours together just talking about the um various projects that still need to be finished we talked about the curriculum where we were at you know the the process in which i um used but that she could certainly make changes just what the what our goals were for that um we talked a little bit about uh school improvement plans and how uh those have been developed and and just kind of getting her acclimated with with all those different areas that will be pretty much right out of the gate running that will need to be addressed so she will be i think 100

percent ready to go so um i have the utmost confidence in and what she can bring to this team so um that's about it superintendent's report yeah i just uh i want to reiterate some things and that's uh the handoff and the appreciation of all the work that courtney's done for us how many years have you been here 13 13 years now it's just it's um it's been a pleasure and i look forward to continuing our interactions with superintendents but uh the handoff is gonna be very smooth and i appreciate everything that courtney's done so uh that said we are prepping for next year things are gonna be different i went to a conference um just last week for the iasbo the illinois association of school business officials and um it was in person it

was in schaumburg and it was nice to get back to in-person conferences it was nice to get back to more normalcy um the triple i is coming up or the joint annual convention that's uh in november registrations have begun and i believe that we're registered for that um i look forward to seeing that um again it's that return to normal the theme for next year is really going to be reboot you know as we've talked before we're going to be looking at our vision and our mission statements we're going to be looking at our values and and really kind of coming together with that this is a great opportunity to reimagine to think about where we're going to be and where we're coming from as we come out of this covid experiences um i'll be

sending out information in july so very soon about the values and the visioning process uh really um we're really excited to move from crisis management back to education it has been one year for me here as as courtney's ending her 13th it just ended my first um looking forward to next year i will tell you that we have started the projects for next year power washing of this building uh kurt and his men cut back a lot of the bushes so that we could get to all the tuck pointing that's needed i think it looks beautiful i've walked the building today i will tell you that the ramp that's out by the backside of between the park and eagle view needed a lot of work and the tuck pointers fixed the railings and everything else

over there and so it's just it's a much more secure building right now they've started on the back side of the middle school so pretty soon that's gonna look much like parkview and be pristine and clean again um and the high school blacktop i don't know if you saw all the buses at the black at the high school the other day that was because of the um sectional baseball at eagle view that was for parking but that's all been moved back and now there is um blacktop that's been cut out and replaced so a lot of the potholes are being taken care of and then they're going to sealcoat it and so the the the rocky area by the where you walk into the high school it was all rocks and used to be bushes

that's all filled up with blacktop now so it's going to be a much cleaner look and uh that's really the big projects for this summer um we got a meeting tomorrow for that so um that's really the superintendent's report as we stand i will reiterate one more time we're looking for cooks and bus drivers contact the district office please well thank you any questions for our superintendent or assistant all right we've gone to item seven which signs for action we'll start with the approval of the fiscal year 21 amended budget all right um the recommendation is to approve it as presented there were no comments no questions we are in the black and everything but the o m fund and the o m funds because we got a lot of revenue the year before and

a lot of expenditures this fiscal year in the summer so basically we're on a cash basis so that's just printed forward so it's not july 1st to june 30th so any questions or comments you guys are easy tonight perfect with that i'd entertain a motion to approve the budget as presented so moved thank you scott a second a second thank you adam kimberly roll call vote please craig meyer yes scott middle camp hi lisa schumacher yes tyson search yes adam pumpkin hi andrea corey hi on to the next item for action is approval of the ex to extend the term of the misfit property and casualty pool we uh did the health insurance last month this month we're doing the property and casualty and the recommendation is to approve it as presented any questions comments

assistant superintendent alyssa um smith all right well they would like to make a motion to appoint christopher grody as primary and melissa smith as sec as alternate for the misfit property casualty pool board member yes andrea corey hi greg meyer yes scott middlecam hi all right that concludes our items for action our next item is discussion inevitable individual board member comments we have anything they want to say or address or it must be late for dinner so i have one question so you on the superintendent so you mentioned the conference conferences fall do you have any more information on that i saw an email i think there were four of us going um i believe everyone um six of you are going okay all but one and all those reservations are done and yes the

conferences in yes [Laughter] or do we have to do a little walking and more information will be coming out as we get them there will be events and and information regarding the sessions and whatnot but that will come closer to november anything else all right uh we're pretty much productive uh the only thing i have is i was actually gonna say the same thing adam it's uh it's very i was very pleased to see so many board members participate in the in the convention up in chicago it is a great learning experience and uh i've only been once but i i learned a lot doing the experience and it's just really heartwarming for me to know that you guys all care so much and we're all here for the right reasons we're putting that forward

and uh taking advantage of that educational opportunities and get together so i know it's a it's a big time commitment everything else and i appreciate everybody putting that forward and then uh another thing i have this is uh courtney thank you so much for your 13 years of service and you've been just a tremendous rock for the district and um i know we've all been able to count on you we take you for granted you're just always there we know you're going to be great and do everything that you're supposed to and i think smith is very very lucky to receive you i think it's our loss but you're their game definitely so uh thank you i appreciate the opportunity i know that you guys a couple years ago took a risk for allowing me

to quickly hop over but i appreciate the opportunity i didn't think my opportunity was going to end up like it did last year but you know nobody did so you know we pretty much knew somebody tonight but yeah that was not a shock to anybody but thank you for 13 years is a tremendous career at columbia and we appreciate everything you've done all right uh executive session do you have anything for executive session nothing for executive deception all right perfect that pretty much concludes the meeting i would entertain a motion to adjourn so moved thanks scott a second second thank you tyson roll call please adam humpkin hi andrea corey i greg meyer yes scott middle camp hi lisa schumacher yes tyson search yes please meet him thank you all very much you
