They could make popsicle stick snowmens to take. Um, we made some popsicle stick stars. Um, Quinnland was fired from prepping the stars cuz I used too much glue. Um, so that's it. I hope everyone has a Oh, I was fired so quick. Um, I hope everyone has a great restful rest of the 2025 year. >> All right. Thank you, Christina. All right. Thank you. You know, it didn't dawn on me. I just was uh recalling something I wanted to ask all of us here to do is just take a moment of silence for the horrific acts of of just I don't know the words cannot describe the innocent lives
that has been taken uh at Brown University and I believe in Australia over the last couple days. So a lot of families are grieving. So if we can just take a moment of silence I would appreciate it. Thank you. I appreciate it. All right. Next up is administrative updates by our superintendent. Well, already you got a chance to enjoy coming in the amazing uh ensemble that we have here. You guys sound amazing. Unbelievable. So, we've hopefully you'll have one more number for us before you depart this evening. So, I'm going to turn it over to you, Mr. >> Griff. Christmas tree. You Merry Christmas. Are you all my I don't wish Yes. Little wonder. the heart. I give up. I give up. I'm asking for my baby. stand my heart for you Oh my god.
Yeah. Thank you. >> Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Great job. Great job. Great job. >> We are so thankful to have all of you here and thank you uh all of our uh students for taking your time this evening. Um we do have a little treat for you when you go out tonight. So anyway, thank you again. You guys were amazing. >> Yeah. Can you someone give Mr. Salish some tissue? I think she took it up five octaves right there or something. >> Good job. Great job. Thank you. >> Yeah. Thank you so much. >> And and your great leadership, Mr. Grip. Mr. Grip. Mr. Grip. >> Good job. >> Thank you, sir. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Knocked you out of the park. >> Yeah. And that keyboard player, he played a lot better
than me when I had my recital this past Sunday. I wish I would have had you there instead of me. Good job by all saxophone. Another board member with that proud sec trombone. Trombone. Trombone. Look at that. And all of you. All of you. I can't name all of those instruments, but good job. All righty. >> All right. >> Yeah. Do we have any board updates? >> I do. Mhm. >> Um, we have been awarded the regional for boys and girls basketball. So, we will be hosting at the high school the regional championships for boys and girls. Um, and our cheerleaders took first place at Marian Catholic this time. Last time they took third at Samberg. This time for sideline chair they took first place. Oh, wow. So, the program is really really um doing
a great job. really growing. >> Excellent. >> Huh? >> When is the game? >> Regionals is in fe um February. >> February, March time frame. >> And I think Didn't the girls shooting, didn't they qualify for state? >> They did. The girls qualify for state. Yes. Yes. >> And for as far as basketball, that's February, March for the girls and boys will be hosting both. >> Excellent. Wellrounded here in our school district. Wellrounded. Any other board updates? If not, is there anyone want to take anything out of the consent agenda? Hearing none, can I have a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented? >> So, second Move. I'll >> second. >> Move by Bill, second by Dr. Hall. >> Oh, okay. Anybody have any questions, comments on the consent agenda? >> The only The
only question I have real quick, how close are we in the final details of the sports? The only thing we had left was softball and baseball, right? >> Yeah, we're finishing that up. So, >> just minimal stuff. >> Yeah, but we got to get the lights put in the baseball and softball field. So, that's going to go in there. And then, u just finishing the dugouts. We're getting some furniture and not the dugouts and uh just to-do lists, spot check and all that. So, we're in a good spot. >> Sounds great. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Before before we take a roll call, do you want to actually read it out? >> All right. Underneath superintendent report is approve regular meeting minutes of November 18th uh 20 should be on that from B approve board of
education financial report. Item two, approve the payment of 103,931.90 to Burn and Joints Construction for work completed at Crinia High School. Item three, approve a payment of $345,476.37 to bear construction for work completed also at the high school. Item four, approve a payment of $109,69.66 to bear construction for work completed at the middle school. underneath personnel and culture. Item one, approve the personnel report consisting of approving certified employment, reassignment, resignation, and intent to retire and educational support staff employment uh resignation and unpaid leave of absent. And that concludes our report. >> Okay. With that minor change, I'm sure you got that minor date 2026 2025. Okay. Okay. Hearing no other questions or concerns. >> Just one last one. I forgot. >> Sure. >> You guys seen in the uh update notes from Miss Heinline. Jason,
just a quick question. They're I see the walls done at the middle school. So, they're going to set the steel during the twoe break. Is that correct? All the steel work will be done. >> Yeah. Uh that's our intention to start to set the steel beams uh Monday, December 22nd and work diligently on that over winter break. >> So as soon before the kids will come back to school, at least all the steel work more than likely should be set in place so it's safe. >> Yes, absolutely. >> Excellent. >> Okay. Roll call, please. Madam Secretary, >> Miss Wilfolk. >> I. >> Miss Venez. >> Mr. Swallish. >> Hi. Dr. Hall >> I zit sus is an I. Mr. Gagos >> I >> Mr. Brown >> I motion carry. Next up is number eight action
report number A alpha number one approve. Can I have a motion to approve the resolution for the sale of Mon Education Center? >> So moved. >> Second by Alex. second by Dr. Hall. Uh questions or comments? Our council is here to answer any questions or comments. >> So, >> regarding this action? >> Yeah, there was something written in there and I know we we looked at it. Um I know they put 10,000 down when they >> with the bid, but then there was another one that said within so many days of accepting this, they have to put 100,000 down. But at one point I thought in our FYI it said that if the deal doesn't go through they're going to get the they're going to want ask for the money back. Is that correct? >>
Is that what I read or am I off on that? And if they do I just want to make sure >> the earnest money. Yeah. >> I I think that's up I believe that's up to the board if they're going to return that correct. >> Right. So the the and I pulled the actual contract. I know that there's been some um proposed modifications made regarding earnest money and some other provisions in the contract. >> Oh, sorry I'm not pl on here. Um what I was saying is that I know there's been some proposed modifications to a variety of uh provisions within the contract including some stuff regarding earnest money, financing periods, etc. Um those are still we're still waiting for response to from the other from the buyer on what some of those provision or
um modifications are. Um, so the to answer your specific question, if you gave me a minute here, I can pull up and let you know what the exact provision says on earnest money. Um, but as a general rule, the proposed resolution that the board is um considering tonight um is to approve the sale uh and the contract will be approved subject to attorney review um so to give us the time to to finalize those issues. So, >> all right. The only question, the only reason I bring that up is if the earnest money did go back in some form or fashion. We just need to make sure that we cover our turn all of our cost associated with everything going on. So if it's 110,000 and our costs were 28,000, it would just be subtract
just so the district's not out one. Correct. >> I agree. >> I'm just confused as to why they would get their earnest money back. Yeah, typically that's what I was going to typically >> I thought I read verbage and >> I think I read that too. So >> that's why I'm questioning. >> Yeah, my question is why do they get it back at all >> because if I bought a property and backed out, I would not get my earnest money back. >> And I think >> it would depend on why they had to back out or why they uh backed out, but I mean I've gotten earnest money back on property. that typically usually if it's a good faith effort and some >> excruciating circumstances were to come into play usually I have that has
happened to me I have received my earnest money back years ago and it was I lost my job at that time and I couldn't move forward so it just so happened I lost my job after the contract was signed >> and the way it sounds I think it's still in in in process with our legal counsel but If we do move forward in that realm, just make sure we cover ourselves that the district loses nothing. >> Yeah. And I I think the board could I don't think it's just a go no go. That's how I thought it first time when it comes to earnest money. But earnest money you for some reason cannot go forward with the deal. You lose that earnest money. But there are circumstances. So we don't know exactly as the board.
I guess we can wait and see if that were to happen and then it's the board can decide. So my understanding is the same as yours. I just assumed that when you put in this moneying down that >> you're taking that risk. I just when I read that it just threw me off because I'm like for me when I put that down I'm not getting that. >> Yeah. >> Right. And like you go into it knowing >> whether or not you're going to have the financing in advance. I'm remiss after we've gone through this now with them a third time at their request to give anything back if we're doing all of this for a third time and they still can't find whatever it is >> and and I say we can do that. So
I would say give the council the opportunity to draft up some more verbiage when it comes to that. But I can assure you that it's not a strict go no go when it comes to earnest money. >> Sure. Again, this is subject to the additional >> the additional 100,000 um that they're putting down after this would then go back to them >> if just just as long as our costs don't exceed $10,000. Right. If our costs were 18, we'd want to make sure they get 92 of that back to cover to make sure the district is covered. That's that's all I'm looking for. >> I I I I agree with Bill. >> That's it. I if if our costs are 8,500, then they can have the 100's fine. But I just want to make sure
we're covered. >> If it was something if we if there was no things on our part that caused the deal to correct go through, we should get every penny of what we put into >> the deal falls through. >> That That's fine. I I'm all about that. I just misunderstood the difference between the 10 and the 100. >> And that's why that all goes back >> I think that's why we're talking because I'm I was in the same boat. I'm like, "Okay, I'm not really for sure where are the hundreds coming in and why would we would want to get that?" Yeah, this is hot off the press, too. >> Okay, >> perfect. Thank you. Cuz they should absolutely get that back. Okay, thanks. >> Good question. Thank you, Council. Any more on that? >>
Any more questions or comments? >> Did I specifically have to add, but I'm happy to answer any questions um that people have? >> Anybody have any other questions or concerns? >> Okay. Right. All right. So, we have a motion on the floor. It's been moved for number B A alpha number one. No further questions or comments. Roll call, please. Now, secretary, >> Miss Venegas, >> I. >> Mr. Swallish. >> Hi, >> Dr. Hall. I >> Miss Wolfbo. I >> Z stumb I Mr. Gyos >> I >> Mr. Brown. >> I motion carried. Moving on to number eight, action report number alpha. Number two, I have a motion to approve the resolution authorizing certificate of tax levy and the 2025 tax levy. >> Moved. >> Move. >> Second by Bill. Questions or comments? Anything our business
department needs to say on this you guys could okay >> hearing none roll call please secretary >> Mr. Salish >> I >> Dr. Hall >> I >> miss Wolfoke >> I >> Miss Venegas >> I >> zites is an I Mr. Gagos >> I >> Mr. Brown >> I motion carried.
