Time is 6:30 p.m. or 18:30 military time. Can we have a roll call, please? Secretary Mr. Brown here Mr. Z Dr. Hall present Mr. Salish here Miss Venegas and Miss Wolf here. All righty. Okay. Let us stand for the pledge of alleg allegiance and mission statement read and led by both Mrs. Jamie Zumbers. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Our mission statement is to engage and empower our students to positively impact their community and future. Okay. Thank you. Open
public hearing on 2024 amended budget. So moved. Second. Have a motion. Okay. Thank you. Second. Any questions or comments? Roll call, please. Wolf I Mr. Sales I Dr. Hall I like some I Mr. Hi. Motion carried. All right, Brian. Cheryl. Is there any public comment for the amended budget? Okay. Good evening everyone. My name is Brian Johnson, director of finance for the school district. This is the amended 2024 2025 budget presentation. We were required to amend the budget due to a sale of bonds this year. This is the same presentation that we gave at the original budget with some slight updates with the amended budget due to those bond sales. As an introduction, the annual budget sets a plan for accomplishing our goals for the year. We posted notice in the Tribune on May 9th
for this hearing. We will have a vote to adopt the amended budget next week. We will post the amended budget to the district website once approved and submit to also once approved. Just some definitions. Sources of revenue for the district are property taxes, state revenue, federal revenue, and other. The other would just be any sort of donations or refunds the district may have received that don't qualify in the other categories. And then expenditures are salaries and benefits which are the majority of our expenses, purchase services, supplies and materials, capital projects or I'm sorry, capital outlay which is our construction projects, other objects, non- capital equipment and termination benefits. Our tax levy is the amount we request from the county every year in order to fund our operations. Our tax extension is the amount of money
the county clerk issues to the district. And our debt limit as of June 30th, our long-term debt liability was just over $125 million with outstanding bond principle just over $96 million. This next slide is a summary of all funds, the original approved budget with the amended budget. Next to it, you'll notice there is a large deficit, which is funded from prior bond sales. And then you'll see the total funding sources. We're showing just north of 11 million of a surplus after the sale of alternate revenue bonds this year. Any questions on this before we move forward? Just so the public understands, we it's on 11 million surpluses because of the bond sale. Correct. Is that the sale of the entire what was it? 35 million. Did we sell any of it thus far? So we
had sales in December and then February and those were both around 14 million. So we were under 39, right? Under 39. Just under that in two sales to avoid arbitrage, right? And then the availability, I think our allowance was up to 35 or 36 million. Yeah, correct. 35 million. 35 million. Yeah. So, we approved a maximum of not to exceed 35 million. We sold just over 28 million. So, we sold 28 million thus far. Thus far, you say this year. Yes. This year? Yeah. And what is the max that we're looking at? I know the the bond resolution was not to exceed 35 million. Correct. We sold 28 million. How much more are we looking to sell? We are not currently discussing any future bond sales at this point. At this point, what's the window
of closure before we have to pull a rug? So that would be three years from the date that you authorized not to exceed limit of 35 mill. Okay. And what was that date like last year or that year before? Believe it was March of 24. March of 24th. We executed the not to exceed. Okay. Just give the board a good three months heads up when we get at least three months. That's all. Yeah. because I think we talked about the remaining seven right there possibility with the middle school and the comp the sports complex whatever we if we need to use that right don't let that expire right don't blindside us with that okay great thank you so this next slide is the same information just for the operating funds only we're currently projecting a
slight surplus of about $78,000 There are some slight revenue and expense variances throughout the year. Our local revenue is projecting a little bit low. Again, we were conservative on our estimate of the tax levy with the tiff rolling off for University Park. So, we're not too concerned about that number at this time. And then we did get some additional fifth quarter grant revenue that ended up in this year and some Jason and Janice Vanc have done a great job maximizing our Medicaid revenue reimbursement. So that's definitely helped us out as well on the revenue side. Medicaid medic did you say Medicaid reimbursement for Medicaid? Correct. I'm sorry. Can you medicate? What What did we dish out for Medicaid? Is that So, a lot of our special needs population, there's expenses that qualify under Medicaid that
we can submit for reimbursement. And there's it's very complicated and a lot to understand, but there's always things that we're learning and figuring out how we can maximize those reimbursements. Again, Jason oversees our PPS done a great job with requesting those reimbursements and getting the most out of probably with them recognizing that we can be re reimbured for that. Correct. Correct. So, for example, out of district tuition for special needs that transportation can be reimbured from Medicaid at 100%. Where if we got it reimbured through the regular state for the transportation, we would only get 80% back. So just making sure we're billing those and coding them correctly. We're now getting an increase in transportation revenue for some of those extra needs students offite. That's just one example. countless examples of ways we're providing services
that can be. Thank you. So then this next slide is something that should be familiar. It's in the monthly board packet every month. This is all funds a month by month of our cash balances. And you will see we are projecting this year for all funds to be over the 180 days cash on hand by about $6 million. And then the next slide is operating funds. We are projecting to be slightly below our 180day cash on hand goal, but well above the 25% stated in the board policy. And again, we're still not sure how the cash is going to end up from the tip rolling off for our tax revenues in June. So hopefully we'll bridge that gap and we'll be closer to that 180day goal. So we look good with the 25% fund balance,
right? Correct. But in the 180 days, we look good for that. You say cash on hand for all funds? Yes. For operating funds, we're projecting to be slightly below that at June 30th, but again, we have our first tax revenue payment with the tip rolling off coming this week. So, we're hoping that that's projecting a little lower than we actually receive. We're just not sure yet with what that tip number looks like. So, the fund balance, I'm looking at the state profile of those five parameters or indicators. The funds on on hand or the fund balance 25% that's going to be good with that. We're not looking at we're going to end up with a Not a deficit, but a surplus. Surplus. That's number two, right? Is that correct? We're going to have 180 days
on hand. Plus, that's three. No short short-term borrowing, right? No short-term bonds is longterm. Okay. So, we look at that. So, so we expect a recognition this time. Well, the only one that we get dinged on is our long-term debt. But the long-term debt is that's they figure we're going to be borrowing that that's weight is so low. But that's the only one we get ding. That's Yeah. And it's weight is so low. So I expect that to be a low number, but it's weighted so low. The cash on hand, the deficit over revenue, then having a deficit that's weighted high and the fund balance is weighted high. So I think the short term getting a good number on that because we haven't borrow so four out of five going to be good like you
said the longterm debt that's going to be with us forever right to say it and Brian just real quick they're basing that financial profile score on all the accounts not just on the operating yeah I think so so it gets a little complicated where it's the operating funds and then fund 50 is included if that is a deficit And that's why it's kind of hard to project on the cash versus approval because again we're showing on a cash basis. Our audited financials are an approval basis. So it's a bit of a moving target until we close June. When does our auditors come in? Are they here? They'll they'll they were here in May for the preliminary audit which is just a few days getting set up for the main audit. They'll be here the last
week of July. Okay. We should be good with the October 15. They'll present at the October committee of the whole and then we should be good. Same schedule last year. Okay. But you're saying that 180 days is are you for sure we're good with that? That's what we I'm saying we're currently projecting it below 180 days, but again, we don't know what the tip revenue is going to look like. tax because you estimated conservative. Correct. Yeah. So, we're not sure what our recognition is going to be for the most part until we close June and have audited financials. I'm just a little concerned how this happened 180 days along pretty smooth. I could check the historic month but I believe the projections have been pretty much the same. Put a rabbit out of your head.
Okay, let's make something happen. Make this good legal. I want you cook in the books. All right. And then just to recap, our 2024 2025 department goals. Complete the fiscal year 2024 audit by October 15th. We submitted that to the state October 11th. Finalize our Skyward policies and procedures and our department policy and procedures manual. that was completed in March. And then our facility and capital project plan is ongoing. And I would leave that to Jason to provide any specific updates, but I know that everything's been moving along on schedule. Any final questions? I have a question just for my own knowledge. Um, did I hear you say we're um looking for a financial profile score. Can you just real briefly tell me what those components are that make up that profile score and what
we're looking to be? I see you're saying you're a little concerned. Where are we with and just or you can just direct me to where I can find it. I'm Every year our audit, our annual financials are each school district receives a financial profile score and there are five criteria that make that up. It's a surplus or deficit. You're borrowing your cash on hand. And each of the categories is assigned a score. And our long-term debt is the lowest score we can have because we have so much of it. So every other metric needs to be the highest in order for us to receive a score recognition which is the highest available score. And then the one below that I believe is review I think warning and watch list. So the top two scores mean
you're okay. The second to lowest score means you're getting near trouble. And if you have the lowest score, then the state steps in managing your financial and we'll know our score for this current fiscal year in October based on the way the end of the year. We should know before it's based on our audit once our we have a good idea. The auditor just come to confirm everything. Thank you. You're welcome. Thank you everyone. Thank you. Any other questions? Comments? Okay. I like a motion. There's no public comments. Motion to close the public hearing on 2024 2025 amended budget. Any questions or comments? Can I have roll call please? Madam Secretary, Mr. Swallish. Hi, Dr. Hall. Hi, Miss Wolf. I Mr. Brown. Hi, Motion carried. Have any public comments from regular public meeting? We do
not any board updates. I have a board update. Last week I attended the educational foundation committee meeting and um primarily the talk was about the fun that's coming up. for coinciding with the homecoming and all the festivities with the new stadium. So, we do have a goal to raise $15,000. Pretty lofty, but I think we could do it. Um, we are my commitment to the to the foundation was to come to the board just to share some information about it. Um, we are going to be asking for sponsorship and I'm starting personally with not my personal but a thousand ask of the communities and things like that. So, I'm planning a seed because if we gonna do $5,000, we can't nickel and dime with $100 sponsorship. In my personal um the flyer will be ready
soon and they have asked about should we partner with the home so that the fun run is always advertised at the same time with everything so that it's blasted out at the same time with everything in addition to our own advertising efforts. And then we are also going to see about how to utilize our high school students for volunteer credit. The day of the event you will see needs throughout that day. So that's our update. Excellent. Let me just clarify. Did you say you are donating? I did not say that. Oh, I said I'm like, where you been all our life? I got note from Mr. Swall. She said he's gonna take the whole Oh, great. No, you didn't. Oh, you didn't Everybody zipped up their pocket and it's at the middle school again, right?
Is where it starts. So, they are looking at the route currently as we speak hoping to end at the stadium so that um the day of the third that that's the end the finish line is in the new stadium. So, working with cross country team trying to utilize their expertise and um to outline the course map to make sure it makes sense for everybody. Um the is also that the students of the district will get to participate for free and registration for an adult is $40 as of right now. Um they're looking at the site to make sure that everybody can register appropriately. And so there is some talks on the table about that registration fee because we have a lofty goal of $15,000 and Yeah. Yeah. I think it was 40 last year. Yeah.
So they were trying to hope to not change as much as possible. as minimal amount of um changes so that we can really strengthen our efforts around sponsorship. Okay. Does that include a t-shirt, some water, and a defibrillator? A defibrillator if you need it. I'm sure it does, but I am not promising that on behalf of the educational foundation. But good job. Excellent. Good. Good report out. Thank you. Thank you so much. Any other board updates? I don't think we have any admin. updates. We're not going to have good news. Is that correct, Superintendent? Thank you, Dr. Kag. Um, we are on schedule with the sports plex. Um, I shared that in the FYI um this past Friday. So, please review that and I'm going to make it a practice to continue to uh share
the schedule uh weekly with you guys. Um we are currently installing light poles. Um and uh soon there will be bleachers and press box. That's coming next week. We did begin phase one of the parking lot at the high school on the east side. They've been milling that about 3 in deep and they really got after that. Thank you for Yeah. nodding your head, Dr. Hall and Mr. Swallers because um yeah, they got a lot of big heavy equipment out there. um had to make a couple announcements. First day of summer school for staff to move their cars, but they were compliant. And uh yeah, we're continue to roll. Uh you guys can see the roof, the framing of the roof being put on the stadium building. And um we're on schedule with the sports
plex. Uh regarding the mascot, uh this is a followup from the April 8th committee, the whole meeting when it was decided that we were going to take uh two designs for the wolf to the student body. And I have the results of those surveys. Uh 67% of the students chose the gray wolf over the blue wolf. And we are currently in the process of narrowing down possible names and going back out for a another survey in the fall once the final design is made. Then we can give the uh mascot an official name for the district. Question. There was a there was an email was sent to the board a couple weeks ago. I believe it was by the former CMEA president stating her reasons for not having a wolf as a mascot, so on
and so forth. Did we entertain that at all? Um, I did see the email. Uh, I know that, you know, there was a discussion here whether or not we were going to go with the wolf considering us being the warriors. And then, you know, we discussed the characteristics of a wolf and it being animated, it being gender neutral, being um, uh, uh, able to have a mascot that can go from high school down to prek and be friendly for all students and also being compliant of, um, not representing a Native American. So that's why we went with the wolf. Um I do have the verbiage that was included with the survey if I can share that with you. No, I just asked again offline if Dr. Cognish you can get with your team and just
go back and revisit that email that was sent and just I'm not telling you which direction to go but I think it had some some valid points. At least we say we looked at all angles. Okay. And I'm not telling you to go back and change things. We had a survey and I'm sure that people would however they which direction they went they had reasons for doing so. But I just thought that email that was sent had some very valid points from a holistic point of view from a former CM EA president. So did you see it Dr. K? You did. Okay. Do you I'll let you determine if it's worthy to share with the team or however what's going on behind closing. We're here as the board. We kind of the last ones here.
I don't think we're getting involved in how to my knowledge we're not on the we're not there on the first level trying to determine what the mascot should be. Right. From a board level, right? We waiting to everything come in. We say good. Oh, okay. Sounds good. So, did you guys see the email? Do you recall? We get a lot of emails. A whole bunch of them. But it was sent to the board. It was sent to Dr. and I responded just said thank you da da da and uh but that email is pretty lengthy and it has some valid points in there. Did we make the firm decision to get a mascot? Because I remember last time we discussed after the whole thing, we were questioning whether or not even spending the amount of
money it was going to cost was worth since we weren't 100% sold on. I thought we left it as that she was they were just going to keep in going through the process and ask and do the survey to figure out, right, students wanted to, but now it's sounding like it's a done deal. So that's what it sounds like to me. That's why and I kind of want to go back to whether or not because like I wasn't I went with the wolf because that's what everybody was interested in finding out more about. not as a go to get a mascot, especially one that we weren't 100% sure on the style. Maybe I misunderstood what that next step of questions was for. I didn't understand it was we had voted to purchase the mascot. I
don't think it was No, no, we haven't we haven't done that. It was just discussed. It's still it's still somewhat conceptual, right? Okay, you guys are going to have to figure out what it looks like, what renderings, what what it's going to be. I just didn't know where we were. I just I had forgotten. And the way this had sounded, it was like a done deal. So, it sounds like it's a done deal now. That's what I'm saying. It does sound Well, I think it's just narrowed down from what it started as, meaning it's narrowed down to a wolf is what is was that it sounds like to me. We haven't really finalized I think anything because we have to vote on it, right? Let me let me bring this back through my idea with
you. the ideas that the board said go and get the opinions of students on what they wanted and as far as I'm concerned the only voting. Yeah, I would assume I just assumed that we would be voting whether we're gonna add had a mascot or not. Yeah. Just because at this point I I wanted to know what do the students think, right? They're the ones. I mean, I get it, you know, and one email doesn't change my mind of anything because anytime we do something in this district, you get you get like four emails and then we're not going to change our mind over that. But I'm just thinking in the long run. I mean, unfortunately, we we have to think about changing because we can't use the warrior that's been around forever and then,
you know, we're honoring it. I think in my opinion, that's how I always look at it is you're honoring that. But unfortunately, we have to, you know, we can't use it. So, we use an arrowhead, but that's not really a mascot. An arrowhead's not. So, I think you were looking at more or less coming up with one, but I just assume we would be voting on the idea of having one or not. Or I mean, honestly, if if if the students rally around something like that and it it doesn't matter to me. I mean, I that's what I think because everything changes, right? What we did 40 years ago, 50 years ago, 30 years ago, 20 years ago, today's different. The fact that Mr. Gazinski even said that we have to make it, you know,
general neutral or, you know, however we're making that, that's today. That's not what happened 20 years ago. That didn't happen 10 years ago. It didn't happen 30 years ago. So, I think what we're doing is just bringing up the warriors to today. And I think that's not questioning that. I just that's my take on it is is is I but I still think we were voting on that. I mean whether we change it to a wolf or we leave it an arrowhead. If the students rally behind it, I think that's what we do, right? I mean, I I think that's we support them. If they came in at a 30%, then I think we would have our answer. But they came in at what 67%. That's for the gray. That was 67% of the respondents,
but they were given two options, right? Greywolf or blue wolf. If I can just clarify, this is a mascot. This is not a change to the logo to warriors. Correct. No, this is I'm correct. You're not I'm correct. You're correct. I apologize. Um I apologize. So he's still the Warriors. Correct. The logo is still be arrowhead. That's what it would be in our branding. Um this is just strictly a mascot that could wear our clothing, you know, a shirt jerseys with arrow heads, have wor arrow heads displayed on the mascot. But as Bill said, it's tough to make a arrowhead a mascot. So that's why we were stuck. the renderings of a human and or an animal because it was tough to make an arrowhead. And what what do we have now? Nothing. It's a
mascot. So like when a football team scores, I use an example because it's Friday night under lights. You have you have um either a cheerleader or someone would take a big flag and run it back and forth, right? So that's where if you think about um I think the easiest thing is um it's very family friendly is the uh like the Cubs is the Wolves the Chicago Wolves right they have skates the mascot but it's very family friendly so when they score you know he's out in the crowd and whatnot I think that's the idea is what does the mascot do in a college sitting what do they do so they would run you know that's kind of the theory I think um it's not a bad thing you're not changing cremony warriors, but you're
just like adding a mascot. And I think if the kids today are willing to accept that, it doesn't bother me either way. Yeah. And like I said, I per I I cannot recite per word word for word what the email was saying, but at the time I read it, I just thought it had some good points and it constituted revisiting or another set a set set of eyes to look at it from the administrator. And I, you know, I do value everybody who sent an email to the board. I looked at it and I tried to reply accordingly and appropriately. So, I'm not saying this email is going to drive decision making whatsoever, but from my point of view, I just thought it took, you know, it's worth taking another look at from one of
you guys. In the way I look at it, it's the same thing as the dome. I'm sorry. This is the same thing as the dome. You know, it could be. And what I mean by that is, right, we discussed it. We came up with an idea. We we had a plan. We get a couple emails and then all of a sudden it took an extra year and a half to two years to figure that out when ultimately we went with what our original plan was, right? And and again, I think the biggest thing here is who's going to support it. Let's be honest, the administration's adults, right? Staff's adults. The kids have to absorb it. They have to accept it. Right. And if they accept that, and when you're talking junior high or high school
kids are accepting it, it's a good thing. Did the middle school get a mascot? It's the mascot is for everybody. It's for the district. That's the whole district because we align the middle school. We're trying to align everything so that when the like the middle school wins a state championship, right, or something, everything looks and then their goal is to make it to the high school. But they became the warriors too, didn't they? Not Yes. Okay. Okay. So, it's we're trying to I think it's been good in the last two years trying to align everything so that the so everybody has somewhere to aspire to. Well, Doc, you know, again, I'm using your judgment. I'm not telling you to share it or whatever. If you chose not to or whatever, however you deem necessary. So,
you got it. You saw it and we move forward. All apologies. I'm just wondering where we were in the process. I didn't mean to start any of this. No, this is It wasn't about a for or against. I was just like, did we get the final vote? I wasn't sure. My bad. That's what this is for is discussing and talking it out loud. For sure. Yeah. Talk it out. Because I'm a with you. I still think at the end of the day, I thought you'd come up with your, you know, all the information and then we would kind of have the final vote on whether we're moving forward. That's my interpretation of that. Yeah. Sounds good. Okay. Anything else? Jason, do you have any questions? I don't have anything. Question. You say there's you say
there's going to be a weekly schedule put out on the progress of the project. Yeah, I may have misspoke bi-weekly. I I can have that in FYI for you, but I hyperl in the FYI um and underneath the operations section so you guys can take a look at the dates and and where we are with our progress. So, are you seeing a project laid out from the people who's constructing the sports complex? Are they sharing with you a total project showing different milestones and all of that? I Okay. Do they have what they call a critical path? Um, I don't know if it's necessarily called a critical path, but you know, it's it's projects is the project broken down into sub projects that is contingent upon the completion of another project. Probably a timeline. Yeah,
more like a timeline. So yeah, I don't want to see the everyday activities, but I just want to make sure that I mean, we see projects go south. We expecting this to be completed by a certain date, certain time frame, and the board, I'm sure, don't want two weeks before it's supposed to be project completion that there's some issues going on, right? So I just don't want to be blindsided. many of you know things happen you know you have contingencies things happen with projects you know they go south but we need to be able to pull it in but that critical path that's the longest part of the project and if something go wrong with that critical path I think we should we need to know yeah I think we honestly got over that hump
u in the spring when we were dealing with so much rain to be honest with you now that we've had some weather cooperate with us where they feel very confident they're on schedule and I feel confident of where we're at to meet our Okay. One thing that I observed a couple weeks ago, I was just driving through, driving out the parking lot and I think they have like a gate there that was open and heavy equipment out there easily could be stolen. Whatever. Do we have security out there? Is people watching the things that's not our equipment, but it could affect the project obviously. Just just ask them how are they securing it? equipment out there, you know, somebody steal equipment that can delay the project. Okay. I don't know, but I just felt it
was just I I would hopefully I would assume that in the contract that would be their responsibility to make sure they pull that time frame back in. Yeah. Meaning they would rent or or bring another piece. Right. But sometimes again and it's not our responsibility to make sure this but I would just get in the hear hey you know it was just observed by someone and you guys got this you're securing this okay fine just you know we don't have to hold their hand and it is up to them to make sure the project come in in a timely manner but if we can see little ancillary things that's happening out there I think it behooves us to share that with them. So, so real quick, Mr. Ro, um, middle school. We're out of school
now, and I think there's a meeting next week to start demoing the, uh, what is that, the amputator? Yes, sir. U, actually, the meeting was originally scheduled for Junth, that being a district holiday. We require that date inform you of that because I know you expressed interest in attending. Yeah. So, uh, they're still a couple weeks out from mobilizing and actually beginning the middle school. Um, but they will have a firm date for me because not only do I want to share with you guys, I want to share with everybody with summer school going on also. So, and the idea is they're going to demo that during summer school so that it's done and cleaned up and ready for first day and there'll be no mess there and they'll be up all the clean. Yeah.
All the clean up will be done. Temporary walls will be uh up. It'll be a safe secure location. We're doing it primarily this summer due to the magnitude of the amphitheater and the noise that would be associated with that and the tight time frame to try and do it over Christmas break. So, it's better to do it now over the summer. And those smaller rooms, have they started that yet or they have that's the same timeline? Yes, sir. Okay. Are we doing any life safety projects during this summer? Uh we've been slowly working on those uh inhouse with building the grounds department. A lot of the stuff that came out, you know, uh we found that we could do inhouse. Yep. To start to save money. Okay. Um, anything out of house, but the items
that we can address, we will coordinate. Uh, Keith and his department have had those on their radar as well. I'll be moving along on that. Yes, sir. We don't definitely don't want to push it down the road to 10 years. I would like to get those things rectified with Excellent. Excellent. Okay. Okay. Thanks. Thank you for Do we have any updates on the softball stadium being named, the field being named? Oh, okay. I gave you mine, right? Huh? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'm good. Right. Yes. He start He started it, right? Well, I guess I just make sure. Hey, it's not me. I want to make sure it's clear that is this because my person wanted so it's going to be the naming committee. Well, there's nothing else proposed at this time. So maybe they can
propose I don't know for because we we can look at naming I guess I'm proposing the other fields as well and maybe even a complex if someone Oh so so someone would have to submit an application to propose naming the other fields plus the complex like making right well that because that's what he think for our policy. So, how do we do that? Like if I if I wanted to submit, I can do that. But do I have to submit a name of what I want named or do I just say, "Hey, I want this." Todd Hallfield. I'm just trying to get it. So, because I promised my person that that was part of I think you submit it's an application process per the board policy. Okay. Where do I find this application? Contact me.
Okay. Can I Okay. So, just contact you. I need your number. Do we have a deadline that we wanted to have? Who was that one program? I will reach out to because like my person, I didn't want them to think I asked for the name two months ago and they haven't heard nothing, you know. So, okay. Thank you. So, you say you're the one, huh? You're the board member that haven't submitted. No, I submitted my name. I'm trying. Thank you very much. Is our person that we nominated on hook for this committee forever? I thought when I asked my person, I spoke about the one thing. So if now the whole thing. Oh, because we only had the one. I think it's going to be a bundle. No, because we're talking about the softball field
first. Right. And that's what I asked my person about. Me, too. Same here. But it sounds like I think I'm looking to make it a bundle. Yeah, that's what I Yeah. And that that I didn't ask my person about. And I'm not sure that they would want to. Okay. Okay. I I would have to ask them like I don't want to speak for them for a nominal fee. Would they be able All right. Okay. So, is this old business? We kind of threw that in too. Old business. Any old business? Can we talk about the lesson planning committee? We talked about that. Oh, okay. My apologies. Uh any other old business? I just have one thing and I like at our regular board meeting that we have as an action item. We talked about naming
buildings and all of that that I'm not sure if Jamie was part of the conversation. We was talking about adding some verbiage to the names of both Talala and CSK. I think he may have been off. I can't remember. But we had a lot of conversation during that particular meeting. We tabled it or postponed it. Right. I was there. Oh, you was there. Okay. All right. I'd like to bring that back and I will propose to name Talala. Keep it as it is right now and just add the work the words in part fours. Keep Tala as it is right now. Tal Talon Elementary in part fours and CSK however it's named right now. keep CSK the same and just put in university part. Why not of that was the big discussion because people were
saying like especially CSK it it made it appear like University Park CSK was all of University Park when that school is a community school so to speak. So that was that's my way of out of this. That's that was the whole dialogue when the principal Dr. uh Mr. Maine came up there and said this is one issue that his staff brought to him and that's what the whole dialogue was using of University Park. So, I had a couple emails come and they actually recommended I think it was a one bor I don't know if you do. Did you say in and or Yeah. I think we were talking about it when we were having coffee. Yeah. Okay. Just we were trying to figure out a way because otherwise the email the emails come in. Yeah.
When you're trying to do something, we just again again talking about trying to do something. It was a fivem minute conversation and turned into it. It was what it is. So, I had a couple people send emails saying, "Hey, I understand what you're trying to do, you know, board member Brown, da da da, have some, you know, kind of inclusiveness and get all four communities involved here." He and they actually said that. I said, "Oh, that makes sense." And I think a board member said in this kind of easy fix and so that's what I'm proposing. Jimmy, you have any We talking? Yeah. So, is it going to vote next week? Are we voting on Yeah, I'm going to put it as an action item. And again, I know Nelson has some qus with expenses,
but Dr. Coch assured us that the expenses were minimum and I don't think they have to readily go out right now to schools and change letters and things like that. No, they can everything they have what they have run out and just so we run out then you reprint it. So just make sure if you don't mind making sure that um and both are aware so they can look at whatever you're sending out so they have time to you guys have any you know qualms you think about it send me an email before next meeting and I don't want to ram anything down your throat but I think I would like to get this off my that's all I have for old Any new business? Okay, we don't have a reason for close session. Okay,
I have a motion to adjurnn. So move by bill second. Second by Dr. Hall. All in favor say I. I. Any nays? We are journ. Thank you public for joining us this evening. Have a rest of your evening. may be fruitful and joyful. Take care.
