Testing 1, two, 3. Testing 1, two, 3. All right. I would like to call this meeting to order for Creek School Board District 201 for Tuesday, May the 13th, 2025, 6:30 p.m. or 18:30 hours military. And I would like to have a roll call, please. Madam Secretary, Miss Wolf, I Miss Venegas, I Mr. Salish here. Dr. Hall, Miss Sight Sumbers is here. Mr. Gyos here. Mr. Brown here. Let us stand for the pledge of allegiance led by Vice President Mr. Henos followed by mission statement led by our board secretary Miss Jamie Zumbers. I pledge allegiance of its one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Our mission statement is to engage and empower our students to positively impact their community and future. Thank you. Thank you both. Wardrobe malfunction here. Okay. Do

we have any public comments? Hearing none. Board updates. Oh, I go ahead. Go ahead, Bill. I'm sorry. Go ahead. No, I just wanted to recognize some of our students. Um, if you notice in the FYI, we had two uh girls track champion, conference champions, Evelyn Stolenbach and Kamura Derby were both conference champions. And then we had um Omar Roma Romo is a twotime IHSA state champion for esports backtoback. So, some good things happening sports. And then our warrior band went to Great America with their annual trip and did amazing. So they did first place in the percussion ensemble, second place in the jazz band, first place in the symphonic band, first place wind ensemble, first place marching band, best solo, Nathaniel Wy Herrian, and then overall best concert. So athletics and arts have had an

amazing two weeks. Wow, great news. Great news. Maybe that should have been under good news, huh? Great news. Thank you, Bill, for reporting that out. Any other updates for the board? I do have one if hearing no other updates real quick other than the one that we have here. I have a book that will sign an autograph by a Brian Stevens. Stevens and this was obtained at the last board conference that I attended in Atlanta freshman or sophomore now sophomore I don't think you that's what you get for sitting in the back of the class if you was there but this is amazing book thus far that I have written or read and I will challenge that if we can get one of these books out to board member if you want one cost about

$35 $5. See if we have it in our board budget. If not, I will absorb the cost, sir. But it's a lot of everything in here. Okay. Really good reading. And I'm not one to read a lot of books other than technical books in the Bible. Okay. So, this is really good. Really good. Just let us know if you would like if you want. If you want, I'll leave it here. You can glance through it and see and get back to Dr. Coglin. Okay. Good. That's all I have and I'm gonna turn it over to Dr. Cogley. Item. Oh, okay. I do. We do have an item A. Item A is the point committee members slashdelegate. So, the board has three committees that we have oversight with as as well as three committees by the

district. Dr. Kenise have oversight. The three that the board have oversight with is the IASB member who represent the board for that that group and also is a delegate for the board for that group. That's a pretty involved position. A lot of a lot of things that you need to obtain, bring back to the board. what's going on in Springfield as regards to the school districts and so on and so forth. Have to go to the triple I meeting to participate in a as a delegate to vote. And the second one for the board is the discipline committee. The discipline committee, I know I used to be on that years ago and it was it was good. It was good. I think Jamie is on that right now. Okay. And if you want to tell

a little bit about it, what you do or how much would have you participated in or Yeah, I'll be honest. They're really great about sending out minutes because it happens between 3 to 4 on one Wednesday a month. They're they're really great folks. I mean, I don't You talk about issues that are happening and best ways to potentially resolve them and work within what is best for both the students, the educators, the community, like it's a it's a time to discuss. Okay, cool. And the last one is the speed and I think Alex is a representative for that. You want to say just a little bit what you do on that committee right there on that uh governing board? Yes. Uh we meet approximately once a month. Um there's they do take uh a pretty

big for like winter and summer break. Um but the other months they're um pretty well attended. Um you get to hear about everything that our special education kids are are doing, all the wonderful stuff that field trips that they go to, the um advancements that they make um that uh Dr. Dr. Tina Halaman. Her team is like really really good. I I'm really impressed with uh their state of the district uh meetings. Um they do a lot and and you could tell they care. Uh so that's um it's just uh it's just a real uh treat to be uh to be there and and to hear everything that they're doing for our kids. Okay, thank you Alex for that. I'll leave the other three up for Dr. Kogese to bring to the table. But right

at this point, I'm going to need two people for the discipline committee. I'm going to need one for speed and one for the IA IA SB position. So, is there anyone interested in either those? Jamie, do you want to remain on? Yes. Okay, I did ask our new freshman board member, Mrs. Venegas, if she would like to be on the discipline committee and she accepted. But is there anyone else would like to be on a discipline committee? Okay. And there's no vote for this. So, I'm giving everybody an opportunity to be on these committees. And I guess at the end of the day for these three committees that I mentioned that I will decide which board member be on it but mostly with your input. So congratulations. You are awarded your first comm. Your first

committee, right? Okay. But she didn't tell you the rest of the story. You meet once a week. Okay. Not a month. I'm just kidding. Just kidding. How many have I missed? And she did. You know what? She passed the test. She she accepted that with a smile. Whatever you need. That's good. So, duly noted. So, Jamie and and Elizabeth is for our discipline committee. Uh, next up, speed. We have Alex for that current position. Anybody else would like to take a shot at that position? Alex, do you want to continue? I would love to continue. Okay. Hear none. Alex, you and there's only one person that for that position and you have done a good job and that leaves just one more tob position. Uh right now I think Dr. Hall Yeah, I was going

to say did you want to talk to Dr. Hall first because he's on that already. He is on it and see what he at least ask. Yeah, I did. Have you heard anything? I have not said commitment. No, maybe ask him have a conversation before we decide. Yeah, but I see and I believe it I would not make that sure thing uh but if is there anybody else want to be on that position so at least we have you you would like to I would anybody else take a shot Bill yeah I mean I did it before I I thought it was great okay all right you guys don't make my job easy do lots of engagement so we got Bill we got Alex and possibly possibly so we hold off a little bit and

see Thank you. All right. We hold off on that. All right. Yeah. Okay. My job is over. Next to you next year. So, we've got three other they're they're called the superintendent committees um that we have. We have the educational foundation, we have the insurance committee, and we have the safety committee. So, um do I have anyone interested in just showing up and and being partners with our educational foundation? Why didn't I think Excellent. Yeah, Janie had had an opportunity to meet with u uh Reverend Hunt and myself uh last week and um she got a chance to hear a little bit about what they were doing. So, and now she's officially the face of the ad committee representing the board. Thank you. And they meet five times a week. Insurance. Who's on the insurance

now? I'm out of now. Okay. Are you on there? No. No. I think Doc uh maybe Dr. Hall. Yeah. Wait. I think maybe. Yeah. All right. So, who's interested? Did you want to continue? Okay. Sure. We're in the middle of it still. So, yeah. I know it's winding down for the year, but So, it's two two people for that position. Yeah. Okay. So, Dr. Hall has in case one of us can't make it. Correct. Yeah. Okay. So, Dr. Paul is not here, but we're going to leave it open for him to it. Anybody else? Okay, Bill, I just want to give you a heads up. You may be the only one. Okay, it's all right. Yeah. And then the last one was our safety committee. Um, we had some representatives there. I just need to

let you know they meet at 6:30 a.m. So, if you're not a morning person, um, this might not be your committee. They meet uh usually once a month. Um they will talk about uh they meet with all the other responders in the area just to hear all the great things that we have planned, things that are going on in the community and some things that are more of the behind the scenes. Um but board member uh participation is really um recommended so that you can help u listen and voice um your um your thoughts. I think Jamie meetings at 6:30 in the morning. Yes, sir. Do you at least get coffee and donuts? We do feed them and a lot of it's because the um a lot of the first responders are on shift really

early in the morning. So that's how we have to do it. Wow. And there are representatives from all the schools who probably need to get back to their buildings, right? So that's why we have done it. Um but like I said, it turned out pretty pretty good. So uh Jamie and Nelson were on that. So uh did you want to continue? Yeah, I'm Yes. Great. Anyone else want to be our second? Any early birds? Oh, look at that. Great. I love the opportunity where Jadeie get those hands going. She's gonna start something going on here. I love it. Yeah. Anyway, thank you for that. Um, we will let our administrative team know of those members um so that they can add add you to any agendas and so forth, invitations. Okay. Okay. So, everything is

captured there. Yes. Thank you board members who volunteer your services once again. All right. So, moving along with the good news. Yeah. We're going with administrative update superintendent L for number one. Good news. Yeah. So, uh today I really wanted to highlight to the board some of the really great work going on at Mo. Um they have been working on this literally all year. And as you recall, you know, transitioning and culture was something that they were working on as a as a staff and as an administration. And so we had put together a process of staff came to uh administration to say, you know, these are some things that we'd like to to work towards. Um my executive team worked with uh the staff along with administration. We met with them for I think

we had four meetings and they were basically training and PD to really uh address some of those issues and we just finished our last uh meeting with the whole faculty last Friday to share all the things that they've been working on and it was really wellreceived by the staff. Um it's feeling that they could get on board with this. They will be working on various strategies on how to build and be part of that. You know, part of our strategic plan, we have three words that we work on. It's the engage, empower for impact. And I think the one key word that we were really focused on at the building was about empowering. You know, part of having a good culture is empowering people to own that culture and, you know, stand up for um

people that may not be as positive and and and confront that in a positive way without calling somebody out. So we really work with the team on how to do that, how to identify those characteristics and so uh they are definitely empowered to take on this again for next year. We will continue to be working with the staff uh next year. There's going to be a culture committee that goes into next year as we continue to do this work. But tonight I wanted to uh have uh Dr. Kowana Sanders the principal, Miss Metta Ali, she's the assistant principal. And we have uh two of our staff members, Miss Kowash and Miss Han. They're going to be here to talk about that and Dr. Perkins is going to say a few things. So, we're going to

highlight a little bit that was from the PowerPoint that we presented at the staff meeting and um anyway, they have to present still. That's all right. One before, one for after. I'm very proud of them. Good evening to the board and colleagues to our students watching from home. Um, as we come up this evening with the staff, we want to make sure that everyone understands that this work is like Dr. Start. Start. Here we go. Start again. start all over. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, there was a committee um of probably about 20 staff members that came up with um this work that we modeled like we said over the course of four meetings this year. And I'm going to have um Monica Kollage and Sarah Han come up and talk before Dr. Sanders and Miss

Can you hear me? Okay. Um so the purpose of the committee as a whole was to discuss concerns that were raised by staff members whether they were brought to administration or more informal ways through surveying. Um and then we created a plan of action to address those concerns within our building. While meeting we identified trending behaviors and we'll talk about that shortly that impact our behav our culture both positively and negatively at the building. And then last Friday we met as a whole school and the purpose of that meeting was to share information and provide staff with the tools that we have developed as the culture committee um and provide that to all staff workers. Good evening everyone. Mrs. Ali and I were locking step with the culture club in this work. I must say

it was not only empowering I think to the staff as a whole but as well for myself and Mrs. Ali because in doing that work we did a lot of self-reflection. We looked at our level of accountability and I think that it showed that we were just as vulnerable to look at things that we could do differently and we were hoping that that type of uh reflection inward would in hopes uh inspire others to do the same. Change is not easy. We all know that. And what we were hoping is that individuals will be empowered to allow um change to be done with grace and just be open to the fact that we're human. We all make mistakes. Uh but those mistakes can be resolved if we are honest and we're open and we keep

each other accountable. Uh Mrs. Ali, would you like to add anything? Good evening everyone. This mic was not set up for me. Okay. Fantastic. Good evening everyone. You know what? Just echoing what Dr. Sanders just said. It was not easy work. Uh please do not mistake uh that by any any means. Uh but it was tough work for work that needed to be done. Uh I'm happy that I was able to be a part of it. Uh but know that it takes courageous leadership. It takes leadership that's compassionate. It takes leadership that's knowledgeable uh and reflective as Dr. So happy to have been a part of it. All right. So I'm going to talk about the behaviors um that we kind of identified. And these behaviors don't just um affect Mooney. They're kind of work

culture behaviors in general. Um so we identified some behaviors that we wanted to target. So, a couple examples. Um, the talkers. You may think of some people as I'm explaining um a description of the talkers. People who dominate the conversations and discussions, not allowing staff input or rushing decisions. Uh, the soundless, those are the people that are more silent and disengaged. We also have the resistors. Um, there's several more. the advocates, the rebels, the doubters, the distracted, the side talkers, the interrupterss, the diminisher, and the pessimists. So, these are all behaviors that you can see in any workplace environment. Um, to be proactive and again to empower our staff to kind of meet those behaviors headon and have some difficult conversations in a more respectful manner. Um, we came up with three things for each

behavior. Things that you can say when you observe those behaviors happening. uh questions you can ask when you see those behaviors in action and then tools that you have prepared for you um to go ahead and like navigate through the entire conversation and following steps. Um so just for an example for the talkers um we came up with some key phrases that you can say um let's focus on the task at hand. Let's make a take a moment to think about this. Always respectful and proactive for questions related to that behavior. Does anyone else have any experience with that? Are there other ways or perspectives to look at this? And then we came up with tools that everyone can use whether they're in meetings or in an informal setting um such as talking cards or

sticks so that everyone has an equal opportunity and opport um way to share their um thoughts. And then always being present. So we kind of in our document describe what that can look like for everyone in a meeting. So we're always respectful on task um and present in our meetings. So for each behavior, we have sayings, questions, and then tools um that can be implemented to confront the behavior in a proactive way. And this empowers our staff not to have to come up on the spot on their own with, you know, what do I say in this moment? We've kind of scripted things out. So we have a proactive way of addressing some of these behaviors. So when we uh presented this to our staff, we did it in this format. We first had them

um reflect on an article. Um we shared this article called Find Your Marold where we basically encourage teachers find those that are going to be positive and help you grow and uplift you. Um beware of those people that are toxic and poisonous to you that only want to bring you down. Um through the article it did several different types of behavior specific in schools just so teachers could relate to it a little bit more. Um after they had the chance to reflect on that article, we asked them to selfidentify. Um we did so anonymously uh where we said please do not put your name on this. Everybody had the same colored post-it note. We said just identify who you are. Identify which of these behaviors is you. um we asked them to do that so

that we can take that data and compare it throughout different points of the following year. We're going to collect it again when school returns then a few more times just so we can notice the trends. Um we noticed that if we had these behaviors listed out, people will be more able to reflect and see like okay I am a talker when I'm in meetings. I like to talk and I like to dominate the conversation. So, we hope with pointing these out to people, they can be more receptive to all of these different things that we're telling our teachers. This is what you can say. These are the questions you can ask. These are the tools you can use to encourage growth in the workplace. Um, we're going to be also using these the documents that

we created to further along just our team's accountability being the culture club and then our team's ex at our school. Uh, now we finished it off with some intention cards telling everybody write out your intention for the rest of the school year. We only have a few weeks left. You got to finish strong. We want to finish in a positive way. So, just stating your intention, taking a look at it every day just to remind yourself of different ways. I think it's important that um as we talk about modeling uh empowering staff to put these structures in place that we think about as we implement the intention cards for next year and going into next year um of people having the selfawareness um using that data as Sarah was talking about um and then monitoring

our outcome and as Dr. Sanders was the entire team holding each other accountable for that work. You know, often we talk about out of the mouths and these um comments are out of the mouth of the staff that engaged in this work over the course of the year. And what it really really breaks down to is again that intention for having those structures and then that shared commitment um and again promoting uh grace as we strengthen the collaboration of that So again the team and now Mr. Brown. Oh wow. Great job. Great job. Thanks for all the hard work. I just wanted to say how proud I am of Moan's entire staff for taking this on and the leadership that you have at the building is very strong. This is a role model that I'd

like all of our buildings to see because not not everything is always perfect, but you do have a voice. You do have the power to engage and take um take the lead and uh making sure that you can control your destiny as far as your culture and your building and so forth. So anyway, thank you for your work and I ladies, thank you for being here tonight after the long day. Yes. And I just want to say thank you for ramping up your professionalism. Great job. Okay. Great job. Yeah. I think they set great examples for people instead of just giving up or doing something but working through the problem. So thanks very much. That's great. Kudos. Definitely. Great job. Good job working through it. Excellent. All right, you can pick up your check on

the table. Take care. Good job, Dr. S. Good night. All right, keep it going, Doc. Okay, as you know, last uh meeting or so, um Mr. Alrech left his parting gift of of offering up looking at naming one of our facilities, and that's the softball field. So, as you recall for last night looking at our last time looking at our policies, what we need to do in open session is everybody in their district needs to uh share a volunteer that would serve on that committee. We need to do that in open session. So, I was hoping that if you had your names tonight that we could just have you share them. I know some of you have already emailed them to me. Um, and I did talk with Dr. Hall about his person, so I

can share that as well. So, um I don't know if anyone wants to do a shout out here of who they want to do from their area. Jamie Healey. Okay. Okay. I have I have chosen uh Brian Milbour to be my tribute. Okay. Uh Dr. Dr. Holland mentioned a Danzel Franklin, so I'm going to add him to the list. Others, I don't have my name yet. No, I I have two feelers out and I just haven't heard back yet. That's exactly the same. All right, that's okay. Yeah, that's the same with me. I have a name, but I don't want to put it out. It hasn't been validated. Yeah, correct. Got it. That's okay. We've got the three names. Like I said, I think we've just got to make sure we once we have those

names ready to go. What I plan to do is I will probably call a and I'll probably do a virtual meeting um because I know these folks are uh you know probably working in the evening have a virtual meeting. What we're going to do is share the application that uh Mr. Albrech filled out that gives the testimony behind uh somebody that he is recommending. The committee will then kind of take a look at the merit of that recommendation and then they will give a recommendation to bring back to the board through me. um to name that field or not to name that field. So, it's a pretty straightforward process. Um I think we could get this wrapped up certainly within, you know, the next month or so. So, there I would imagine there's going to

be other opportunities with that whole sport complex to name the football stadium, to name the boys baseball stadium. I guess I would imagine is that a legitimate assumption if if Yeah, I think it is as long as you know the the award the accomplishment is there. Right. Right. Right. And that's what I'm saying. I would imagine you know we got an opportunity. We have a football or a softball field right now. We have a boys new baseball field. We have a football field. We have a track. So I'm just looking to see and people the public is seeing opportunities to possibly throw someone else's name in a hat for those positions, those facilities. Yeah, we'll have to look at that with the stadium because that's for football, soccer, and track. Yeah. So, maybe see how

we digest that. I don't know. I don't know. Are we talking about doing it all at once because we know or I think we just kind of time do it as it come. If if the opportunity presents itself, I would imagine. And if the accomplishments are there? Yeah. 50 compliments or somebody I read our policy you know I think it's like five or six stipulations and one of those is show me the money show me the money and what's the default if there is no name recommended for name warrior okay yeah I guess the assumption is if you're just using in layman's terms they're trying to name the softball field but if we didn't on the football you could do if if Target came in and said, "Hey, we're going to put down X amount

of dollars." Like all these other sports, you could call it Target Field, Amazon, but like you know, I think that's what you're saying, right? In that I even thought about that. Amazon. But again, our policy says that if we're looking to name a facility facility, these are the criteria. Yeah, there's five of them. More person like in this case, this is a a person that has coached for many years. Well, I think her resume or her accolades were presented to the board by Nelson, I believe, last time. So, that's one that's one of four. But you could be a no-name person, you know, but legitent, so to speak, and show me the money, you know, and the board may consider that just an option. Amazon maybe Amazon Warrior Stadium. I don't know. They give us

$500,000 a month. I'm just throwing that hypothetical out there, right? It's like anything else. Yeah. Guaranteed rate field. Correct. The names don't have to really match, but maybe we can put Mustang in there somehow. But, you know, again, as the opportunity presents itself. Why must we get Why Mustang? I You know what? I'm thinking of my high school. I'm sorry. Warriors. Okay. Warriors. I'm thinking I think Mustang I you know that's a whole other story but that's been a lot of conversation between my wife and I and some other colleagues talking about Mustang Mustang but yeah warriors sorry sorry public warriors warriors so okay so what's the next step for this uh well as soon as I get the other names like I said I need to share it out and open I did next

week maybe we'll try again next week anybody else have problems like what's the latest well there is no deadline on This is how we can pace this out as much as we want. So, um, as soon as we have our names, then I can move forward. Yeah. But we are meeting next week. So, that' be a good time to if not then we'll try again in July. We have a July date and we have some August dates. So, we've got a little bit of time. Did you send out that Nelson sent out the accolades of of soup? Was that in a word doc? I cannot. He did send it in as a word doc. I did not. It's a shared doc. Anybody else have problem? got to have access or request permission to well we're

gonna put we'll get we'll submit it for the application for the uh the but yeah it actually gave some accolades of soup and I could not open that I kind of open up a little bit and say ah you need access request access on a Google doc do you yeah Google doc is that something you send out to do you send Google docs out for us to open generally notbody I usually put them into a PDF because you is very the owner of the document, whoever sending it out to a public document or something. Yeah. I've got that a couple times. I'm like denying denied. Okay. I thought it was just me personally. Okay. It is just All right. Is that it with that? Yes. Okay. The next item. Oh, well that's yours. I think

it's discussion of the 2526 board meeting dates. Yeah, but that's under the superintendent. You got a driver. Oh, well, yeah, I think uh Okay, there was just one catch. I think Mr. Gos found a a a date change, so we went ahead and uh resubmitted that. Cheryl did. Uh Anybody else have any issues with the calendar as was presented to the board? Yes. So, that was the 16th, right? It was like a Wednesday and we usually meet on Tuesday. So, that's that was just Yeah, it was just the wrong date. Yes. But thank you for catching that. Tell me something. When was the high school prom this year? It's this Friday. It's Friday. Ah, God. Okay. Um, that was the issue in the past having it on the weekend of Mother's Day. No, we cleared

that. We've cleared that for several years now. We've we've uh learned our lesson. I think Excellent. Uh my uh only suggestion would be like to have the our meetings be like on the first and third or the second of second and the fourth Tuesday just so there's a little bit more like an evenness because I feel like when we are on the second and third Tuesday like we have to remember everything that we did like for three weeks and then there's nothing on that second meeting for board updates to I don't know it's just it was just a thought of mine. When does Creek have his village meeting? What day? I'm sorry. Creek. When does Creek village meetings occur? They are the first and third Mondays I believe. Okay. So we can attend that. I

think Mooney too. Mony's Wednesdays. Okay. So we could attend that a board member if they wanted to. But I think the issue with the second fourth that coincides with university park. Okay. So at least the way we have it now we can have an opportunity to be if we want to make the village board meet. Yeah. On the fourth on the fourth week we can yeah the village mooney and okay I think park forest is they have I think we can have an opportunity but I'm just throwing that out there evident on the second and the fourth. Okay. Okay. What about what about the first and then the third? The first would be good because we do that a special meeting in the in August to get all your hires approved and all that stuff.

So, we wouldn't even need to have a special meeting on that day. Like, if if we had the first and third Tuesdays, we wouldn't need to have an extra meeting for those uh for for that for the hires. Yeah. For the hires and stuff. I think we just turned the August meeting into a special meeting. That's that's what we do. We just turn the committee hole into a special meeting. We don't we don't add one. We only added this one because of the 40 days we had. That was the only reason we didn't really We just changed the the meeting to a special. Is it possible to not mess with everybody's schedules as we've had them set now for years? Like we've always done second and third for people that have like a regular schedule.

Changing it up mid whatever is not the most feasible. I was just asking. No, no. I'm just like from another point of view. Sure. I mean it's it's obviously it's doable because we've done it that way. I was just wondering if you guys how you guys felt about doing like a first and a third or second fourth spreading it out a little bit more. I don't know. It's up to you guys. Like I it doesn't matter to me. I guess since we already have the calendar, right? We have our dates. Maybe we can revisit this next year and see just you know have more conversation on a little bit more. Sure. What do you think about that? Sure. That's a compromise. Yeah. Okay. Cool. Now, when will you bring that? When will we revisit? This

time next year. Next April. Yeah. But this time, but the calendar is already set for next year. Correct. Yeah, we This isn't the This isn't the school calendar. This is our our board meeting calendar. Yeah. And then we can still look at opportunities, go back and revisit if we want to short cycle or meetings and have one meeting a month in the summer or something like that. Okay. I still I'm still I know there's things that we have to look at all the time and try to catch her and this old man is getting old. Okay. Absolutely. And I just meant it for this year since we had already like that's that's effort. Yeah. We can like always revisit it after but sorry I didn't mean it to be like could we I assigned Alex

to lead that committee. Got it. That's the one that we done. All right. Okay. So the Wayne change right that we're going to do clarification from a Wednesday to a Tuesday on the calendar. It was just a title. It's a typo. Okay. That was it. All right. So we will be looking to have that next week to vote on. Okay. All right. Doc business doing this. Mr. Johnson, Ryan or Jason? It's just a line item to discuss adding the public hearing for the revised budget for June 10th, which will be set to vote on next week. We sold bonds. We have to amend the budget. Is the amended budget going to be a balanced budget? Yes. Okay. So, that's what's going to be captured in our audit, right? As far as, you know, coinciding and

it's going to be reflective on our audit for our June 30th. This is a revision of the current year's budget. Okay. Which we submitted in September. We have to revise it because we sold bonds. It's just procedural to submit to the state, right? Okay. But everything is everything else is pretty good, right? Yep. Okay. Keep it going. I haven't looked at that. What is that leaving as far as working cash remaining in that fund? Taking 20 million out. Do you know off hand? If you don't know off hand, that's okay. right now that would leave just under $10 million in working cash. Okay. And I would expect a lot of that is going to be updated to go somewhere else. Right. Well, we've got the 6 million that will sit there indefinitely, okay, from bonds

we sold in 2020. So then that four million is the final leg of our construction projects that we sold the working cash bonds for. Okay. All right. Cool. Thank you, Brian. Any other questions, comments? Not about that. Okay. All right. Do we have any old business? Uh yeah. So I know that we took our directory down uh from public view uh for security reasons, stuff like that. You mean? No, no, no. No, the emails. Oh, the email. Yeah, yeah, sorry. Uh but I've heard from uh constituents that now there's no way to contact like teachers or or uh you know kids teachers or or people in the um in the buildings because you don't know who's actually at the buildings. So, is there will can there can we find a way to get like uh

stakeholders information if they need to get a hold of like other teachers or other administrators in the buildings stuff like that like Yeah. So, there's a couple different stakeholder groups that you're talking about and I've actually talked with one of our park district particularly about this. So, as far as the students are concerned, all the parents have access through the dojoos and things like that. Okay. So, parents aren't the issues. I think what we're talking about is somebody from the outside. They want to get get access. Generally, it's a phone call to the secretary at that office to say, "Hey, I'm trying to get us hold of so and so." If it's somebody within the community that we're dealing with, like I said, we can give them a hard copy of all that. Okay? Like

I said, I just don't want that on our website for that. So, like I said, we're willing to work with a lot of people. And that's why I said to our one park district, just let me know. I'll give you a hard copy of all the names. All right. Yeah. So I have um something for old business. We had talked about um the district committee over the the committees that the district oversees um education form insurance and safety. Sorry. I'm sorry. Your mic is on. Oh, it is. But okay, I'll read. Okay. Um, we had talked about those committees coming and giving us a end of year kind of at a glance type of snapshot of what's what they've been doing over the year. So, I'm just following up to see where we are with

that and any updates on those committees presenting to us and when that's scheduled. So, uh, we have not done that, but that's absolutely something that we could put into place. Like I said, I think we talked with Reverend Hunt about inviting him to come and he was happy to do that. We just need to let him know when. Um, as far as this uh the safety or I guess would be insurance committee, um, the insurance committee generally is usually at the board table. Who's ever on that usually will share what's going on at that particular point if anything changes. Yes. I I don't think it's the insurance committee. I think it's someone like the ED that uses our name. insurance committee is kind of with us. Yeah. Okay. So, it's more so the ED committee

maybe whoever those committees are. I think we found out that it's in our policies that we should be hearing something. PTO's I think. Mhm. Whoever that is. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's those committees that the board, you know, they use the board logo, they use the board, I mean the school logo and all of that. and they are outside committees that we have nothing to do with as far as their finance, but yet they're using and I think that was the intent of the policy back then to say, "Hey, you're using our our our logos and district name and all of that. And we need to at least see that you are in somewhat working in and things in a very very professional way money at least moneywise. At least moneywise something you're capturing. You

know you're capturing you got a budget. You got the financial sheets you know the main financial sheets. Isn't the education foundation the only one? I'm not sure. No. No. Don't the PTO have Don't they have a They're not really tied. They're not I don't think they're really tied. They're separate entities, I would assume, because But don't they have Don't they have checking accounts and all that, but they're all they're separate entities? Yes. Where I think the education foundation is is linked to us. Well, they're kind of their own. They kind of their own. Everybody has their own thing. And I think that was the intent. I'll go back and look at the policy on that, but I think it says, you know, if you are are affiliating yourself in some way, shape, or form with

the school district and you have your own funding or whatever, you capture your own funding and your finance and all of that. At least let the board know your your you know, let show us your your financial sheets. I guess that's it. I didn't make the rule. Yeah, like I said, I'm trying to think about all the PTO's, so I'm trying to I think it might be PTO. Let's go back and look at that. That's all policy. Okay. It's in the policy. I don't know which one off hand, but and you can probably get a better feel. I'll look at it again. And like I said, as new board members come on, we can always change things, you know, to make sure I hope we don't change that. No, no, but she she No, but

I meant to change that practice because we've never had them up before. No, I'm saying I hope we don't we change that practice. We need to I I brought it up. I mean, 10 12 years ago, I saw it, but I think nothing came out of it. I just kind of let it fall up under the radar and then but I'm I'm glad uh our sophomore board member brought it up. None of us were here 10 years ago and again it's not it's nothing to point the finger and it could be in my opinion it can be something that could and again I want to go by the spirit and the truth of our board policy. Does it say to present in front of the board or does it say to just submit to the

board? They can submit here's our budget. Here it goes. submit it to us electronically or something. So, let me look into this a little bit more. Um, okay. And see if I can have something. I could be wrong about PTO and all of that, but I thought it encompass all of the outsides, but they are somehow linked to the district in some capacity. I mean, that would be good for like the end of the year stuff. Yeah. Um because, you know, that's what she's saying here. We're wrapping up. Yeah. End of the year. Yeah. Hey, this is what we did on this PTO night uh with a committee of the whole meeting and and it's and I think it's just the intent is checks and balances. Yeah, you using our you know what, but you've

been uh I'm just throwing out there you've been at the Red for six years and what happened to I know we gave you a $10,000 check. What happened? I don't know if we're going to do all that. So So that's the question, right? So I guess where where I guess where if the district gave the the the PTO or the the group something Yeah. I guess I understand that. Yeah. But if the if the school district didn't all independent if they file in their corporate like say they're supposed to, you know, you know, file and everything if they're that is that I I is that is that can we do that? Can we ask them for that? I mean because they're using our name. Well, what if they're not using your name? What if I

think they are? It's the PTO of creep 2011U, right? It's the booster club of creep. Oh, so meaning if like if you have the uh what is it here? ELC Cubs Cubs. What's their baby? They use an art. So if they if if the PTO here like they had a sign out front said that they cancelled till next week. If they're the uh early learning center Cubs, is that kind of what you're getting at? If they're the early learning center cub PTO parent. No, but they the PTO of crepe molding 2011U, right? Yeah, there's there's each school has each school has but but it still say we are Talala PTO of Cremon School District and our concept. Right. So then are you asking for everything because then you're going to have all of the sports

boosters that say Cremon band boosters. You're going to have the choir booster. You're going to have you're going to have the NJR or the So you want a financial accounting saying I think that's what how our policy No, I'm just I'm just clarifying. So, I think you need to figure that out because if they're separate entities, I don't know that they they they don't think legally if they're separate entity if they can divulge without having a policy in front. But I think again the intent is to if it's a out if it's an organization out there that equates themselves to creep that the board wanted to at least see hey show us your financial balance at the end of the year or whatever your balance your financial sheets income statement cash flow statement you know

I'm sorry just for clarification because I don't think I'm understanding what do you mean by equates with 2011 well again you mean associated uses our name or not equates like well I I'm I'm saying not not well maybe I guess that's why I'm not like here I am a booster club I'm the booster club of of cremon 2011 you oh and you're using cremon leather letter head and all of that I'm just saying that's that's that's what I'm saying you're affiliating that outside entity is affiliating themselves to creep no and that's fair I think where I'm confused is there's not a booster for the district and I think that's where the confusion is. They are a booster for their independent group or team or activity. But do they use Creep Moni in any way, shape

or form? They would use that schools logo or sports like kind of like the athletic they're called the Warrior athletic boosters. They're not associated with Cremon at all. Okay. They did that was done years ago because back and I'm not going to use a name but when the we had a financial person in there that there was a lot of things that was changed and there was no official affiliation with the school for sure. Can I have do we expect our council to be here next week? We always have counsel here. What I can do is I can look at the um the policy. I can discuss it with council and who's ever on for this clear. I thought you'd like that. Yeah, we clear it up. And like I said, this is just going

by me just scratching the surface years ago. Yeah. And that's how you know going back and I could definitely be wrong and I probably am, but let's get clarity on it and meet the spirit of it. Okay. Thank you. All right. Thanks for the challenge, Jamie. Bill. Oh, no, no, no. I'm not challenging. I was just looking for clarification. Same here. I'm all good. Like whatever we want to do. I was just trying to understand. Same here. Okay. And um are we done with uh new business or have we not started it? No, old business. Old business still. Okay. That was all. Okay. Yeah. And then uh Jamie, I think I think this counts as old business. Uh last week the all the comments that were coming in for uh Mr. uh Mr. Maine and

stuff like that. Um I saw some allegations of uh OMA uh infractions and I wanted to get maybe clarification on that. Yes, our council chimed in on it. I think Bill did. I don't know if you are aware of that, Eric. It came back that we did not violate violate the open meetings act. Okay. But if you want I don't have anything to say. Yeah. Basically was okay. All right. Yeah. You know if everybody's speaking on the same subject we have one person. Sure. And that's kind of how we did it. Okay. At the end of the day we have to conduct a meeting that happens to be an open session public meeting. Yeah, I just wanted to make sure with our council here that we do say that did we or did we not

break? And if we did not, I just want to make sure we're that's what he's clarifying. We did not. We did not. We did not. Okay. Because I think some of the complaints were going to the attorney general's office and stuff like that. And I just want to make sure that we did everything that we were supposed to. Yeah. I don't I can't pay that fine. So It's not too bad. All right. Any other old business? New business. Okay. If not, we do have a reason to go into close session and it is for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, specific individual. Could I have a motion to go into close session for reasons just read? So, second moved by Alex, second by Bill. Any questions or comments? If not,

roll call, please. A man with secretary. Dr. Hall. Mr. Salish. Hi. Miss Venegas. Hi, Miss Wolf. I Zit Sumber says an I. Mr. Gagos. I Mr. Brown. I. We are in close session 30 minutes and we will not be taking any action thereafter. So, thank you public for joining us. Have a good rest of your evening. Take care.
