So, the Riley School State Patrol is a integral part of our school. Uh, it's it's a big part of our school community and each and every one of our students that are here today and those that couldn't

make it tonight. Um, they make a positive impact on our climate and culture in the school. And they do this in a variety of ways. Um whether it's greeting everyone as they walk in the door in the morning with a smile or maybe it's helping the staff make sure everyone's lined up in the right spot to start our day on an orderly time. Some of them escort our kindergarteners or first graders to the bus line or to the afterare ensuring our safe and orderly dismissal. All of which are vital and necessary parts of our school. But my two favorite things that that I have witnessed our city patrols do and I've seen these both firsthand and it it really helps me. It warms my heart. The first thing that that they do is every time

we get a new student at Riley, they are the first people to introduce themselves to that student, introduce them to a smiling, friendly face in their line and make that personal connection with them. They truly make sure they feel like you're part of the Riley family and they each and every one of them do it. Every single time we get a new student, every single first day, they're the ones to do it. That to me blows my mind and I'm so proud to do that. The other thing that I've seen that they have done with safety patrols is they take on a leadership role and they have made connections with the younger students. Sometimes we have indoor recess. Our fourth graders have to share at the gym with some kindergarteners that they know from being

safer patrols and they'll sit with them during their recess time instead. They're playing with their friends or on their Chromebook. They'll do activities with those kindergarters. When I walk into afterare, those safes that are afterare students have made connections with the first and second graders that they bring to afterare and they sit with them and they mentor them and they help them with things. They truly are leaders in the building and this month at Riley we're celebrating gratitude as our dean for the month and this is my ability to show my gratitude and my thanks to everything you do to make Riley a better place every day. So, thank you all for everything you do. If you give me a minute, I'd like to introduce everyone so they can kind of be sh be be

honored here at the at the meeting tonight. So I'm going to call you in. Just smile, wave, you can stand up. Um so our list is we've got about 20. Um starting with Anthony Garcia. Just wave there buddy. Every mana John DEMO side Vasquez Hernandez and sorry Clue together. >> Mr. I'm superintendent. Of course, I'd like to shake your hand. >> So, we're clear. >> Thanks. We're going to come up here and then we're going to walk around and check everybody. You did a great job. Thank you so much. You did a great job. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You did a great job. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Great job. I would great job. This is Victoria. >> Victoria, did you want to We're going to

go over. >> We're going to ask all of you to come on over here. Thanks. >> We're big on. >> All right, hold on. Can you guys Can you kneel down? Sticks to kneel down. >> Nope. You stand up with me. All right. All right. I need you guys to look over here. >> Look here and you guys will be done. Thank you. >> Great job. Thank you. >> That was great. Thank you. Um, our student representative this evening is Sophia Gabe. But before I toss the mic over to you, Mr. Casio, with a special message for you, >> Marty told me today is your 18th birthday. afterwards. >> All right, here we go. >> Sophia, thank you for joining us. I know you've been here before. So, this month's student representative is Sophia Babble.

Please enjoy the rest of your evening. Thanks. Um, a couple of reminders to our our South community. Um, as as I tend to usually do when I come here, um, again to talk about our marching tigers, um, for those that don't know, early November, November 2nd, um, we went out to Hershey Park and participated in what's called the Atlantic Coast Championships. This is a grouping of nine states in the central Atlantic region, and there were

what, Sophia? 16 bands. 16 bands uh, were invited to compete out there. And as our marching tigers have done, all year long, they did not disappoint. They placed third out of all of these bands. >> Yes. As as our one of our drum majors reminds me, you know, they they have bumped up in their class. So, it was a hell of a year. Pardon my expression. Um, for all of them, I got to say it's a proud papa moment here to have the front major come off the podium for the last time and knowing that they just absolutely nailed their show. Um, so I I do want to publicly say, you know, thank you. He's not here and the rest of them aren't, but Mr. Shout out to Mr. Rio, uh, Miss Greco, um, and

Miss Pascal. They did a wonderful job with our students all year long, and the board, the district, the school should be very proud of them and the students for what they've done. I just wanted to make sure that got put out there for everyone to hear. Um, that wraps up our marching band season. So, no more addresses from me for that. Um, we do move into, as you heard, to our concerts in early November. Um, looking forward to those. Um, as far as uh everything else goes, um, again, you know, to everybody up here, um, have a happy Thanksgiving. Um, I appreciate what you all do for the for the district. Um, she's not here, but I'll say happy birthday, too, since everybody else did. Um, and that's all I got. Everybody, have a have

a great month. We we'll see you in December for, if I recall, what you say is your favorite meeting of the year. >> It is. It is. >> Thank you. >> Anybody else? Hi, my name is Catherine Rollins and I'm a senior at SGHS and I'm a member of the South Mainfield Drama Club. Hi, my name is Sophia Miller. I'm also a senior at the high school. I am here on a leadership behalf of the drama club. I wanted to speak tonight concerning the production chosen for the 2526 season. Over the past week or so, five people have approached me asking, "What is this show? Is this seriously what we're doing? Will I be able to dance? Will there be your role for me?" Someone even told me flatly, "There's nothing for me in this

show." >> I What? >> Sorry, it's me. >> It's okay. Someone even told me flatly, "There's nothing for me in this show. I'm probably not doing it this year." Before I was in the high school, the South Planefield players performed the 25th annual Putnham County Spelling Bee. Due to the lack of role variety and availability with the lack of ensemble, many quit or did not audition at all. This ripped the department for the year and years after that. My main concern is the 11 feature roles will not allow everyone in our department to have a proper proper experience within the show because there is no ensemble within this production. Um, many people who only strictly want to be an ensemble to help show off their dancing more than their acting, uh, they will not be

able to be on stage and perform with us. Uh, there is no accessible role. So, people who are a little too nervous to do what they really want to do in the future yet. There is little coro in choreography, meaning people who mainly dance are not going to dance. and shows have been rejected by the administration and they were not because they weren't bad on their own. They were declined in order to play it safe. We they really wanted to have a show that isn't at all like controversial or have any inappropriate themes. But that's been happening for the past 2 to 3 years. We have taken shows that are middle school level and don't show off what our cast has to offer. And that really worries me as a part of a senior who

is graduating this year that it's going to be left in the hands of people up in the high school with the cast. I mean, they're not going to be able to have a real high school show. And that makes me upset just a little bit. Um because, you know, there are shows made for middle schools, there are shows made for colleges. The Putham County Spelling Bee was made for a college because it is so selective and it is so this put together in a way that people are going to get cut and people are not going to be able to perform. The show selection has been put off for too long and it's starting to bite into a rehearsal time because so many things have gotten rejected. One more thing I'm sorry. Uh there is

no there is little pit in this production meaning there are little musical parts in the in the instrumentation and model UN had mo had made sure to coordinate their conferences cuz people in pit are all in model UN. So we moved the conferences so people in pit be able to be there and we're not going to need them. So it would have happened for no reason. The longer the show selection is put off, the more people drop out due to their obligations, frustration, and loss of interest. It has become harder to secure rights later in the season, and rushing practice will decline the show quality. That is all I have. Well, thank you for coming up here. I actually um I have a little information you probably would like to hear. Um but I don't

know if I should be the one to bring it to you because I will tell you your concerns were heard. They were heard by the administration and your principal is in the back and he made it a point to have a conversation with me and I don't know if we >> are we okay tonight or we wait a couple more days. >> Um it's pending a few things. So it's going to say 99.9. >> Okay. So we're 99.9% sure that when you hear what uh play has been selected, you'll be over the moon. Plenty of roles for everyone. The music is great. The >> not the bless. >> Okay. Thank you very much. Have a great Thanksgiving. Thank you for letting me out to you. >> Thanks for the call for the big right out

of the bullpen. Back to doing this. Any other public comments on it yet? Any board member comments? Mrs. Miller. >> Um, I would just like to invite our board to our Middle Sex County School Boards Association to meeting on December 3rd. Dinner's at 6:00 to 6:45 at the meeting afterwards. It's at Colonial High School. It's going to be on school security. And we have two very special presenters which will be presenting it. The first one is Dr. Joe Maserino, Woodbridge Township Superintendent. And the second one, and most importantly, is our own Dr. Tany will be presenting. So, I invite you all to join us. It's going to be a good show. She's got videos and, you know, powerpoints and >> the video staring Mr. Skolo. So, he'll be the star. He'll be star of the

video. And now, based on this last presentation, maybe we should add a little musical number. >> Let's go. >> There you go. woman is going to be attending. So, so a lot of South Paint representation. So, I invite you all to come. It's a really close. In fact, our superintendent um had me negotiate with Woodbridge as superintendent to have it at Columbia High School because it's so close for her. >> That's right. I'm going to walk there. >> Um I think that was about it. Oh, I just want to say best of luck to all the winter sports athletes and their coaches. Uh, congratulations to all fall sport athletes and their coaches. Congratulations to our margin band students and their adviserss and all the parents that helped. Um, they all every all of our students

make a huge commitment. No matter what it is, whether it's robotics, whether it's marching band, whether it's sports, you all everybody makes such a huge commitment. People don't unless you have a child in it or you've been in it yourself, you don't realize the commitment that these students make. they should be very proud of themselves that um they've accomplished so much and I thank all of them and their advisors and their parents for all the work that they do and again happy Thanksgiving and I meant to say black Friday not >> any other board member comments >> super quick congratulations Morat Morat's one of the hardest working people in this district um and so we are certainly going to miss you, but you deserve this. Congratulations. >> Any other board member comments? Okay, I just

want to ring in on that as well. Moroc, congratulations. Uh welld deserved. You know, as much as we hate to see you go, we always love to see people move ahead and forward themselves and and you know, in life and that's, you know, that's a great thing for for you and your family. Congratulations. Super proud. Uh at this time we will go into executive session to discuss personnel and student matters. Um action will be taken when we're done will probably be about half an hour 45 minutes. >> So move second. >> All in favor? >> I opposed you a roll call please. >> Mr. Espen >> here. >> Mrs. Miller >> here. >> Mr. Pender >> here. >> Mr. Pissy >> here.
