003at Bloom on Frid on Saturday and then but the big game is K key next Friday so if you all can come out and cheer on your Warriors for the football game and any other event but I love football and that's k key yes that's the last one this is the last the last regular season last regular season yes and then and right now they are 5 and two and they have two games left so there's a possibility that they could play a home game doing the playoff yes okay yeah they they'll probably play a home game okay now well I guess the big weit now is to see if we're going to be 5A or 6A cuz we're always the lowest team in 5A as far as enrolling so cuz they go by and
004roll me okay did we ever get knocked down from 6A to 5A though because of been roing not recently but we could I know one year when I know my son was here we were the very last five 5A school I mean 6A School mhm like the very last one very last they they take the top two 256 teams at the end of the year in the first 32 or 8A second you know the next 32 or 7A Etc so right and so it kind of depends on your enrollment you could shift one year to the next and right now I guess he said we're toggling between the five and six five and six okay go Warriors all right I don't know if this is out of place but I hope it's not uh can
005we just take a moment of silence for the student that we lost this past just a few days ago thank you so much I appreciate it and that hit me hard when the sad news came from our superintendent and only to find out it was a student and they had a balloon release on Saturday I didn't know Alex was going to be out there I got called at the last minute it was a great crowd out there and sometime later on that day I saw a video of the young lady and it's just amazing how so much life someone could have only to be gun tomorrow so take every light every day of your life and live it to its fullness you don't know how to number your days because life is but a vapor
006all right no other board updates administrative updates superintendent all right I'm going to move on to our good news report um I've got two items this evening uh one I'm going to have Dr M he's got some special goodie bags here for for you so along with Dr Hall's invitation to the final home game for the football uh season the regular season we have our Warrior night of Wellness that the wellness benefits and wellness department is also do for our staff so we have some a nice giveaway that you can bring with you to the game is that a bear's cushion seat in here C SE all right wow thank you win ugly head here so again hopefully you will be able to to join us and continue to help promote Wellness that we're doing

008going out of state uh her boys have both gone through our school system and uh Cheryl has been a not only an active mom over the last years but an active board member for seven and a half years uh it's hard to believe that time has gone so fast um she has uh really served the board well she has served as a vice president and a secretary to the board she has served on the insurance committee I think the whole time uh strategic planning she has been part of the cmea contract negotiations she's been out doing classroom visits all all those years she's volunteered in a number of venues such as the boosters craft show uh she's participated all the village parades she's uh participated in the concession stand and she was just working really
009hard at the last homecoming game and uh she was also my partner at uh the foundation fundr runs uh for for several of those so she has been an integral part and has just been a really solid uh member of our team here and so we will certainly miss you and we have just a little little something some of these pictures we have a couple little pictures it's short it's short so Calla put this together for us we had to go in the archives to find some of them but I remember that one and we're going send you this but we just have a couple slides you can see some of the events that she was back over time those in classrooms there a Laura and Terry here so anyway we just wanted to thank
010you that was wasn't no it wasn't I kept it very we can take some more can we vote to not accept the resignation I thought about that rejected yeah so um if we could I was going to say maybe we could have you come up there we because we do have a little bit of a photo okay I'll just say real quickly that uh I've enjoyed my time on the board I mean I'm not going to pretend like it wasn't a little difficult at first and a little contentious but U we worked through it and um I've learned a ton hopefully made a difference with everybody and uh yeah and I just appreciate that we all work so hard to work together and that we all have a common goal and that was what our
011Focus was and so I just hope wish you all the best and that you continue to do that and I know uh the sports Fields will be great I'll come back back yeah and uh yeah just thank you appreciate it well you might not make me work but other make comments now or before guys make comments any comments members well Cheryl you and I both came on the board at the same time and and it was a lot of hard work to kind of get things smoothed out at the beginning but you were intrical to that process and a very steady hand and getting it all done and the years that I served as president you were Vice President you were always great counsel to me and uh probably kept from doing some stupid things
012so I I do appreciate it and wish you all the best of luck yeah yeah I was going to say I I think we've volunteered together for besides this I think it's been at least 12 years doing stuff together so you're going to be missed for sure well we spent the last four years side by side and I enjoyed every minute of it we had laugh joke you have a a great sense of human personality and I thank you for the the work you've done over the years thank you I haven't been around as long but I just appreciated how welcoming you are and patient as I was getting used to what was going on so it was much appreciated thank you yeah thanks for um helping out uh easing us into the process uh
013I knew nothing of what being a board member was before this and you've been a really good example of how to be a board member so thank you very much sh you I mean just the first day of so that I really got a chance to meet you you just had something special about you and it's your heart you got a good heart you care about people and it it's very difficult for people to really kind of control me right but you would just look at me and say mauce I got it said Mo Mr Brown you wouldn't say a word but you gave me that look and I better shut up now better stop I'm going to miss that even as secretary you have a a level of sense that you can bring things
014back you can bring things back to where they need to go and you'd be surprised on how often I looked at you I looked at your demeanor I absorb the words that you said on as Nelson said conso indirectly conso to me so it hit me hard it did Hit me hard because as I think maybe Nelson said things were a little contentious when we first met each other overall as a board new board member but things really mellowed out and you had a big part to do with that so I wish you the best with your family and family for for the most part well for all the part is number one number one and I I did respond right did you get my email okay and I said and I mean it give

021and we'll be able to host track and field events at the high school eight Lanes it'll be regulation you know regulation and given the standard of high school sports so we will be able to hold competitions there is the will there be a um can we have maybe nine Lanes on the straightaways I it's going to be regulation so that we can run track meets because we don't run track Meats because it's not regulation so anything we need that we're supposed to legally have we will have correct I know when in the plans it's called for eight I can inquire about it it's going to be eight in the straight for like the 100 you know the and it's going to be correct eight full Lanes all the way around but can we do maybe
022a ninth on the straightaways what's it what's the purpose what's the purpose uh for uh other races for to have nine across for the the shorter races the 100 meter the uh those kind of uh I was we're going to have the correct amount of Ls for the hundred right I was asked um by one of the coaches of the Flames he's also a coach here yeah yeah yeah and and and the purpose too is for our kids to you know obviously we got six Lanes we want eight Lanes to help hold conf sectionals and things of that nature so that's what we're looking at but he pointed out to Alex andio this weekend he said it'd be nice to have nine has he seen the the drawings well I guess that's a move point
023he still looking at nine lanes because that's what college have okay so I just want to stepping up a notch he said if we can't get eight nine Lanes with the circular or circumference at least get nine on a straight I'm just assuming it's going to be ihsa approved yes whatever ihsa is if if if if they can do nine so he's he's you know he's have great experience doing this so he thought that was a good idea since we're doing it that it will meet the intent on what we want but it just give it a little bit more leverage of adding this one component to a minimum nine Lanes with with a straightaway or nine but minimum with a straightaway at least a n Ninth Lane but just a straightaway to run a
024100 so you can have nine he said he's find gaps with kids trying to get acclimated coming out of high school especially those good Runners when they get into High School it throws them a curveball now they saying out of high school going to college they're seeing nine Lanes as opposed to eight my only concern with that is I I just think we have an under I think we have seven now which six so we can't host an event I I think we're whatever the specs of an ihsa would be because I think the Flames is an external it's not a it's not part of our high school right it's an external no that's just a feeder program okay but he's a coach with our high school he coached for the flames and he coached
025for a high school too right so and him and his brother they really been involved but he just brought it up he brought it up to Alex and our attention he said it' be nice just bring it up I said yeah we're going to be talking about it put him in contact with Mr yeah obviously yeah yeah and I said I I said it may be a move point I think it's water over the dam we in the process and you know I said well I'll throw it out Alex I said we'll put it out to the table and see you know have more conversation they can speak much better than Alex and I on this topic so um uh coach Franklin okay uh Franklin no I appreciate the suggestion um after gaining approval part
026of the design plan design committee I spoke with Mr keki and I was asking that all Varsity head coaches that are involved with anything to do with the sports FX be part of that committee so we have their so we have their Insight yeah that's what Dr cogn for saying as a committee there so you know you never get anything if you don't ask for it so that's that's my intent I say hey it's still fresh still hot you know I don't know if the Press here so put it out there and I don't know like I don't know if the plans have been like approved or anything it's still in the planning phase we haven't broken ground or anything so right now would be the best time to bring it up rather we haven't
027necessarily gotten to the rather than and hopefully you know this I know there's a monetary component and we approved x amount of dollars and all of that and we definitely don't want that to exceed but you just never know maybe they can fit fit it discuss it when we get to the planning stage sure absolutely that's all well that that brings up a good question there are no dollar amounts assigned with either one or two here what are we really what are we really voting on um for item number one the total cost is and the cost was presented previously last year um total was 14, 390,000 for the work done at the uh Sports plex Burns and Jones is going to honor that pricing so that proposal has been shared with the board on
028a few occasions it's been inced the in the board packet so that's what we're looking at to vote on in the amount so I I guess I'd like to amend yeah amend the action item to include that dollar amount yes I that would beine that works for me yeah so do you have that yeah 14 was it$ 14, 390,000 in an amount not to exceed something like that without coming back to the board I guess that works yeah we got a contingency amount in there I'm sure uh those prices are fixed in at with the proposal so from that point you know as we discussed with the Ninth Lane track that Ninth Lane is included in the proposal so if you guys would like to go over and have a small contingency in it um

030University Park has filed their paperwork to dissolve the Tiff yes so when will you come to the board to issue bonds Bob Lewis will be here next month to present at the committee a whole to go over the bond schedule okay I think that was 30 was that $ 35 million total it was you it was approved not to exceed the amount of 35 million the plan that we've laid out uh previously laid out by Ken serman followed by myself and Mr Johnson it's right around like 29 million2 200,000 so we're stand below that 35 million so the bond hearing was at 35 million but we can we'll issue fewer bonds correct than than that but we have a Max of like you said 35 that's already and that's already cleared through the I forget
031what the V of note the communities could come back and and requireed to go to referendum and we passed through that that hurdle yeah we went through that period the opportunity was out there okay the the B when they come back next month obviously they're going to have all the breakdown of the interest you know what the current interest rate and what our payment but we also want to make sure that you break that down cuz I pretty sure that's the sports BX the concession and the Middle School correct so I want to make sure we see all of that if you can with what their schedule is and maybe a timeline maybe they can put that together to make sure that as we're talking about this in the bonds that everybody knows that is

038calendar days to uh interview and appoint uh someone to take her place um at the starting starting at whatever 12:00 tonight we are going to be pushing out through social media and our website um this opening for district 6 we need to make sure that folks realize you know we're different than most most districts it's District six so we want to make sure people understand where that is so if you're listening out there look at our website and if you've got questions you can call our office here um so if people are interested they're supposed to contact U Mr Brown um then what we would do is hold a closed session uh interview for the person or people that are interested in that the board would then take action on that if there is nobody
039out there that is interested the regional Office of Education will appoint one for us if there's somebody to so has to be right I'm not sure how they're going to run that because of that someone out of we don't come to an agreement they don't you if so if no one seek the position it just stays open until until election and another thing is only those who want that lives in District sub district 6 is is eligible to participate in a interviewing process correct I was going to say is there any way you can make sure you put that subd District like everywhere so people don't apply from Chicago where I'm at right and just say hey I want to apply for the realizing it's got to be from a specific subd district and that
040appointed person would serve until the next election until April April right and when do the um ballots or what what am I trying to say when do they have to pull if they are planning to run November 18th is their due okay yeah so if someone's interested do not have a lot of that's a good that's a good point that's a good point so somebody who wants to come in and fill its vacancy still have to put in if they decided they want to continue on yeah they can't let that I think too with that being said is if no one files and then April comes I think we if that person is still that's what you want you do the interview process again that person can still stay but then they would only have
041a two-year term the following election I think is when that would be up so that way the position doesn't remain un that's a good point too so if that person doesn't file by November the 18th right but is appointed to the seat and the term ends April whatever they could reapply because we have the seat vacant again right cuz I'm assuming you have to redo that process again because her term will end on let's say April 2nd so on the next day we we'll have to have that once we get everybody seated then we would probably open that again do could that person stand that position for four years two I think it's two because that happened in in the village of mon where someone uh was appointed to to finish up the they missed
