001I hereby call this meeting to order. Roll call, please. Brown is here. Dr. Hall here. Mr. Sallallis here. Mrs. Walters here. Mrs. Galbbert here. Vice President RP here. President Alberg here. Please stand and join me in the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And Miss Rof, would you please recite our mission statement? Yes, it is to empower each student to positively impact the world for a bright new future. Okay, next up is public comment. We have one tonight and it's Mary Bragg and the topic is thank you to outgoing board members. Good evening ladies and gentlemen of the board and administration and uh community members and guests.

002I wanted to take this opportunity for our board members, for all of you for your hard work and dedication and commitment. Um, people do not realize the time and the dedication and everything you do for everyone in the district, our students, our families, and most of all, our employees. Sandy, I've worked with you. I've taught your children for so many years. Um, so it's bittersweet to see you end your term on the board, but I wish you nothing but the best as you move forward in your future endeavors. Janine, all the different committees we have sat on and worked on and different events and laughs and again your dedication and commitment um to the district is unwavering and we will see you at many events throughout. I thank you ladies for your service to the

003community, to the board and to all of us. Thank you. Thank you. Cheryl, are there any other public comments? Okay. Uh, next up is board updates. Any board members? I have one, but um, let me just jump on just to piggyback off of Mary. Um, I just wanted to say that I didn't realize until I was a board member how much work it took and how many hours have to go into it. And it's a lot if you just do the minimum amount of work. But Miss Walters and Miss Gelra did way more than the minimum. Um, as I said in private, especially um, well, with both of them, but I was talking to Janine, uh, there's a lot of things I would like to attend, but I just can't. But I would always be

004like, "Oh, that's okay. Janine will be there." You know, and and I always knew that, and I really appreciated that, knowing that we had representation no matter what. and Sandy, these last four years, it's just been so great doing uh bouncing information off you and just making decisions. I've really enjoyed the time we've all had together. We've we've formed a great team. I'm going to miss it. You know, I look forward to forming another team, but I'm really going to miss this one that we worked so hard to put together. So, thank you guys. We will miss you. Thanks, Cheryl. Um Okay. Uh the board update I have is um you'll recall at the committee the whole last week, Mayor Einhorn was here and had uh requested the board um consider an extension of the

005creep tiffs. Um subsequent to that, I met with our council John, Dr. Cara, and Ken Surma last Thursday morning. And my basic question was I wasn't even sure what we put on the agenda to approve because we haven't gone through this as a board in the past. Um at that meeting uh Ken discovered some information that um has three tiffs two three and four. Uh that tiff three and four had already been extended out until the mid two 2030. So 2035 I believe 2036. Um, and so at that meeting, um, I decided that not to put anything on the agenda for tonight until we kind of had a common set of facts between the village and us as to what we were what the specific request was and um, and so that you know, we

006knew what we were approving. Um, my recommendation is the board continue. I think Mr. Iso is still doing some investigation and due diligence for us. uh once we can kind of get to a common set of facts, you know, that we treat treat kind of in the same vein that we've uh approached Mon is when they've approached us about uh extending their tiffs, we've said, you know, we would consider it if we got some type of compensation in return and I think it's fair that we kind of treat the villages in a similar fashion. So, we're still waiting to get some facts in. Uh but that would be the approach I would recommend. So, we'll keep you apprised of our progress in that regard. Okay. Any other board updates? Yeah. Um, Saturday we had the

007girls empowering day which was pretty great and uh out of the before lunch there were three seminars and I went to the one uh on entrepreneurs and believe it or not someone Mr. Brown has grown grown up with uh Wana Vance who is now uh she's got a married last name. But amazing that one of our students that came through here is now successful businesswoman and was able to at least speak to the girls. But it was good. It was very was really nice on Saturday to see the turnout that we did and have all the support from the communities. Any other board updates? Well, I just want to kind of pick back on on to that. Um, it was a really exciting day and all the panelists were great. Um, but we didn't have

008the numbers that we had hoped to. However, the ones that did show up loved it. So, that was great news. Um, we hope now that they will take that back to their friends and each year we can build on this and, you know, reach more girls. But it was a great event and so I just want to thank all those involved and um you know hope we can continue on this path with this mentoring program and reach these kids. So thank you. Okay. Thanks Sandy. Yeah I do echo those comments that was a success story again on Saturday and Dr. Chicago Denise was working magic out there with the crowds and Sandy and and Bill and I had the task to make sure the tables were clean during lunch and after lunch and when it

009was all said and done I didn't get a lunch. It was oh enough. Oh, so but you made up for it tonight. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. good success to hear and see those young women like it was with the young guys to to see another side of life. And so that was a a great thing that was put on last Saturday. And also I did attend a conference that was the how do you pronounce it? Caspa. Yeah. I don't want to say they took the place of the national school board conferences that we went to. So, it's kind of like split up. You still have the National School Board Conference out there, but I think it's like I don't know if all 50 states participated, but it's 26 states left the National

010School Board Conference, including Illinois. I think that CASPA stands for a cas what is it? Help me out, Doc. I don't know what it stands for, but consortium consortium consortium of state schools board association and get that out okay so this is the first time they hit the conference I believe and they had I'll cut through the chase on a lot of the classes I actually want to give you guys a write up if I could but the keynote speaker and the closing remark was the guy I can't pronounce his name John I believe. Yeah. The one is uh what would you do? So he gave a story of what would you do and when you get a chance read up on it is touched by an angel. So that segment that came on channel

0117 years ago I guess but it was good. It was just the crux of of his message was just helping people in need. Don't take people for granted. Don't have a respective person. this person look well. I'm going to treat this person a certain way with dignity, but with this person here, he or she doesn't fit the script and they do not deserve my undivided attention. So, that's basically what we're saying. So, it was a homeless person end up helping what she thought was a homeless person and like 90 people stepped all over this person. So, we just need to help our fellow man. We need to help our kids, continue to help our kids in education like we're doing and look at our kids as just there's a need and we address those needs.

012So very good conference overall. Great. Oh, one other thing and I'll share this with you uh more conversations. You know how passionate I am about early learning. So I think it was Virginia Beach School District. They actually had a director of community engagement and they actually had a bus to go around to different neighborhoods all colorful that's very attractive for kids to come to for reading. It was a reading bus and it was very successful. They got a lot of hits. So more to follow. I pass some information. Very colorful. You know how kids like, you know, they like the ice cream truck, the bells and whistles of ice cream trucks. But this particular truck had all the colors on it and they had teachers engagement with with that. So I thought that was a

013hit for early learning too. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit more colorful. So all right. So that's about it. Okay. Any other board updates? Okay. Administrative updates. Turn that over to Dr. Cara. I do not have any. Okay. This month, you said it was going to be uh before I get a motion on the consent agenda. Um well, first off, superintendent, would you read the items on the consent agenda? I sure can. Uh under superintendent report, item one, we have approved regular meeting minutes of March 21st, 2023. Item two, approve regular meeting close session minutes of March 21st, 2023. Item three, approve committee of the whole meeting minutes of March 14, 2023. Item four, approve committee of the whole meeting close session minutes of March 14, 2023. Under business, item one, approve board of education financial

014report. Item two, building and grounds work order report. Item three, approve a payment of 687,456 and 1 cent to CCC Holdings, Inc. for work completed at Creek Money High School. Item four, approve a payment of 28,310 and40 cents to RL Soho for work completed at CSK. Approve for number five, approve payment of 424,34768 to RL Soho for work completed at Creek Elementary. Item six, approve approve the payment of 113,267.70 again to RL Soho for work completed at Creed Elementary. Underneath personnel and culture, we have approved the personnel report which consists of approving the certified staff employment, leave of absence, return from leave of absence, resignation, educational support staff employment, leave of absence, return of leave of absence, and attempt to retire, reassignment and resignation and dismissal. Um item uh for D is teaching and learning

015and that's for the uh JRTC board of ed consent memo for the overnight field trip application and again at the high school for the marching band and color guard consent memo for the overnight field trip application as well. And that is it. Okay. Before I get a motion on the consent agenda, are there any items that board member I would like to have taken off to vote on separately? Okay. Hearing none. Can I get a motion to approve the consent agenda? Moved. Second. Who second? I did. I think. Yeah. Dr. Did he say it to Who else said it? I said Oh, you can have it since it's your No, no, I wrote it now. I insist. Give it to you, T. I wrote it. I did have a couple questions if that's right. Yeah.

016Ken, uh, high school timeline. Has it changed? Um, I know we are waiting for rooftops and I think a transformer. Are we still on pace for September? I think we're on I I actually think we're on pace for October. I think that's what I mentioned. So, I think midocctober is what we looking at, but no further delay so far. I I haven't heard of any, but I can find that out. So, I'll see. um CSK, CIT, Moro and and ELC where we do you know where we're at building wise percentage wise um we're getting close right yeah I think we're about 95% again the big one is u at Talala and ELC is it turning on of the chiller and then the testing and balancing over there u besides that I'll get I'll get an

017exact update uh in the FI just so we know that uh where we're at but we're probably about 95% and we're not we haven't released sending the retention yet? No. In fact, if you look at the payments, there's only one payment due for the 22 work. Uh everything else is for 23 actually. So, yeah, we're still holding on. Okay. Any other questions or comments on the consent agenda? I I just want to give my condolences to the family of Miss Grainy who passed away. Um she was a great teacher. I know it has nothing to do with this, but it just made me think of it with the with the personnel. I I had two two kids that had her. one was studious and one wasn't and they both loved her. That's how good that's

018how good she was. So, um I just my condolences to her family. Well, thank you. Okay, roll call. Yeah, real quick. I do. I have one. There was there was a concern by a staff member on public comments. Did we get that rectified? Yes, we did. Can I go back and look at I did. We we amended the minutes and I I responded to each of the staff members who reached out to us. Okay. So it was what we have in our change because I looked at so I didn't see. Yeah. Okay. Great. I'm sorry. You said it was changed. It was changed. Okay. To to what we have here now. Okay. To to make the corrections for their for their thoughts or Yes. Okay. So I guess and I'm only trying to get an

019understanding. If they weren't here to express that, how do we put something in minutes if they were not here for that board meeting? If I am I Well, I think uh I think the issue was is that an individual spoke for everybody and and represented she was speaking for everyone and several staff members said timeout those views don't may express her views but not all of us. So we amended the minutes to reflect. That's and I'm just really asking for it to get an understanding as to how because I I just assumed that if you weren't here, you couldn't change the minutes like that, but I I don't really care. I'm just trying to learn. Okay. Yeah. No, we we caught it before there being a proposal. So, and I do have one other question.

020I did kind of hit Ken up on this in the financial report. This again, this just kind of stands out. I'm looking at it right now on page 26. And it talks about a oil change for a white truck. And I thought it was pretty pricey. It $358. I don't know if that's can is that kind of I know gas is going up and that's relevant to oil. Okay. Why don't we'll check in with Mr. Brown that what it is. You know, it's another one down that down below from the same company. I guess it's a maintenance. I just thought that stood out a little bit. Okay, I'm not being picky, but there's another truck that had oil changed on it for just 207 207. Yeah, I'll check it out. So, yep, I will take

021care of that. It just seemed a little high. That's all I had. Okay. Any other comments or questions? Okay. Roll call, please. Brown is an I. Mrs. Galbreth I Dr. Hall I Mr. Sales I Mrs. Walters I Vice President RP I President Albert I motion carries. Okay. Next up is action reports. Can I get a motion to approve a resolution authorizing purchase of property at 690 West Exchange Creek, Illinois? Moved second. Any questions or comments? Uh, that's our new upright. Yes. Did we get the inspection done? Did we do an inspection? In the agreement, it says that we do have time to get the inspection. So, I'm working with the attorney to get a a firm in order to come out and do the inspection. We don't know of any. I would prefer going through

022our legal department so that we're covered on this in case there's anything. So, they're working on finding us and then we'll get the inspection done. Actually, I'll get a quote on it first before I get it done and then if it's reasonable, I'll give it. Okay, that's still on your agenda. Yes. Yes, it is. All right. Thank you. And Ken, what was the purchase price? Purchase price is $750,000. And it does include not only the building but all the contents in it. The people includes all the contents. Okay. Great. Okay. If there's no other comments or questions, roll call, please. Brown is an I. Mrs. Walters. I. Mrs. Galbreth. I. Dr. Hall. I. Mr. Mr. Wallace. Hi. Vice President R. I. President Albert. I. Motion carries. Item number two. Can I get a motion to

023approve a proposal and award a contract in the amount of $114,585 to custom for post construction cleaning at Val Moral Elementary, Creek Elementary, Talala Elementary, and the Early Learning Center. Moved. Second. Any comments or questions? Yeah, I talked to Ken about it. Um I know we got this today and I went through and printed a bunch of pages. So, both contractors provided a bid bond and a performance bond. Correct. Yes. Um last week the contractor was stating, you know, that we that they have to move stuff. They need two man. They need a uh a machine. When I'm going through this bid packet, I I don't see anything of what the person was saying. So there's even a a spot here that I highlighted that if there is a way to expedite the return of

024furniture to its respective areas, the owner will make the arrangement. The owner is the school district. So there's nothing in here in some of the things that he was saying. Uh perform dust mopping and sweeping using an angle broom, microfiber dust mop, or other necessary tools to complete the job safely and efficiently. If you go through all the bid specs and even the addendum, I haven't seen anything in here that's requiring a lot of the things that he was mentioning last week. He said that those were answers were given to him at the non-mandatory meeting. They were not in the RFP. But if you look at that RFP, the RF RFP says specifically bid was written. But what I'm saying is when he said he didn't see him, he stated that it was answers that

025he got to his questions at the non-mandatory meeting. That's why they're not in there. Right. He said there were addendums sent out. Supposedly there were Yeah. He said there was there's one addendum sent out. It said and it said that whatever questions or questions he had the answers would in that document said that the answers will be posted on the website. Yeah. So I I don't know if you looked at if anybody else looked at it but going through all these pages I could not find anything that he was saying that was that was detrimental. That's correct. Everything is pretty much and this is a bid a bid packet, right? Okay. And it's sealed. So, as a contractor, you have to read through this very carefully and that's how you go off of because when

026you turn it in, that's what this is what you're going off of. So, I kind of just wanted to double check everything because some of the things he was saying, what was it us? Was it the district or was it But if you read through this, it's pretty clear. And what also is in that bid package, it gives him an out to if he had any issues and wanted to file a complaint. There was a process to do that. Again, I I gave Keith kudos and King kudos on the one bid package for lawn service and that mirrors that's a good package too, right? They hit all the points. Yeah, there was some little cav caveats in there regarding landscaping. Okay. And the definition for a bidder and they it was given the definition of

027a bidder as a landscaper and a contractor as a landscaper. Yeah, those are hiccups. I I get that. That's should not be a problem. But you covered all bases, Keith and Ken, in that RFP. You covered all bases. very well well in my opinion well written and and Bill attests to that. He read it. I'm not sure who else read it but I did get a chance to digest most of it and again what struck me was he had an opportunity to formal file a complaint with the board and I was expecting to see that tonight or something but he didn't do it. So good job. Any other comments? Oh, yeah. One one thing. Um, we expect the scope of work to happen. There is some uncertainties there because we don't know for sure when

028the contractors are going to be finished, but it says between we expect them to work between three days and a week. I think that's the time. That's what it was. Three days, right? Three days and a week. And but I think it was a point in that contract that says that they have 30 days something to cancel or we have to terminate the contract, but there's only a week of work we want them to do, but we got we giving them a 30-day grace period. Again, that's not a showstopper, but that was one thing that kind of caught my eyes. That's all. Okay, roll call. Brown is an I. Mrs. Galbbert present. Dr. Hall. I Mr. Swallish. Hi, Mrs. Walters. Present. Vice President RP. I President Albert I motion carries with five eyes's and two

029abstensions. Two presents. Okay. Um before we get a motion on item number three here, uh Ken, could you talk about the insurance committee's recommendation? I can't. Um so thank you for your patience on that. I know it went quick. I know I hadn't made a comment last week. So, um I did share and put up to board book uh the rates the insurance committee met at 4:30 today. So, here is the bottom line. Medical insurance rates are there is no increase. It is 0% increase. Um that has to do with work that all has done for us on our behalf. Also, the committee's recommendation to go to a self-insured program and also to not I'm sorry, a fully insured program. And thank you fully insured program and also bundling all of our things with Blue

030Cross Blue Shield. Uh originally the on the health insurance side the rates came in at a 3.9% increase because we bundled everything they gave us a discount and what was left was.9%. So uh went back I had a little conversation with them all went back negotiated and we got 0%. So there's no increase to our employee needs or to the district. On the dental side, there is a 9.4% increase. It started at 17 and went down to 9.4%. The numbers on that, and I've shared that with the board, it's about a total of about $32,000 of which 12,000 is absorbed by the employee and about 20,000 is absorbed by the district. So, to me, that cost is minimal uh in that. So uh it's great news uh to the district to the employees especially on

031the medical insurance rates. So that is what is in on board book now. Uh Mr. Alrech I put all that data up there. We released that today. The recommendation has come from the insurance committee to accept those rates and can vision stayed no increase because we had a guarantee for a few for a few years. So that stays the same. Everything else is really staying and the accident and the other there's another optional one but those are not going up either. Correct. Those are not going up either. So just the dental has the small increase if you have your family on it. If you have a family on it because the the district pays for uh single insurance. Um so we we'll cover that cost for family or spouse. That is uh an additional cost

032that will be picked up. Okay. Okay. So out of all the insurance the only increase is 32,000 as a whole to the district. As a whole well to the district only 20ome,000. So but 32 essentially yes that's it for the employ right. So with it being so small is there there's no way we can I mean I know we can approve this tonight but 12,000 is there any way we can absorb that anyway? um you have union contracts you have to worry about because that's part of the union contract is is picking for that. So you you have to worry about that. I I I would recommend that uh not to do that and and just you know approve it as we go. And if I read the report correctly, it was really negligible to

033the individual. It was like $3 extra. Yeah. Good. So is not being touched. You just open up, Mr. SW, you just kind of open up because that's a benefit in the contract and the way the contract states, you know, you kind of open that up and I would recommend do I get it. That's the only reason I say that is because like any other thing, you could it could be it could be portrayed as something else. It could be credit as another way. We have a conversation about that. I just think you could do that in a million different ways. If it's only $3 a person essentially, you could uh like a well, whatever. Like a B. There's got to be something else. Like I said, it's only 12 on everything we talked about it.

034I think it would be beneficial. It's good news to go either way. Yeah, it is. Yeah. Can I get a uh at this point, can I get a motion to approve the insurance committee's recommendation for 2023 20-24 employee health insurance rates? Move. Second. One half. One half. I'll give it to you. Any other comments or questions on this motion? If not, roll call when you're ready. Brown. Dr. Hall. I. Brown is an I. Mrs. Walters. I. Mrs. Galbbert. I. Mr. Swallish. I. Vice President RP. I. President Albert. I motion carries. Um Ken, before we get motions on the next two items, do you want to update because I think we had some discussion about the scoreboard uh last time. Um so I think I shared my FYI, I did some research and contacted the vendor

035on the scoreboard and putting a video board up there. The cost of that is somewhere around $250 to $300,000 total on that. So there would be an additional cost on there. It's a little pricey on that. Um the good news though is and my recommendation is just let's do the scoreboard as is. Um my recommendation would be if and when a new athletic field is constructed that you add video at that time. You can do that and make that as part of the construction project if that's what you wanted to do. the scoreboard that we have right now can be um adjusted and uh and video can be added to that because the board actually I have some pictures but the board actually is in sections. So like where it says home of the warriors

036that's a section that would just kind of be moved up. They would put in some new memes and they could put a video board in there for you. So, um I would recommend that at this point uh because that's a that's a big financial commitment uh to do that uh because they also have to your installation cost goes up because they have to reinforce the scoreboard with additional beam work too. So, uh I would say my my recommendation to the board is let's install to install the scoreboard as is as presented. U and then when and if a new stadium is is made, you can make a decision then whether to add video. Okay. Someone asked me a question that with everything going on in my personal life this week, I completely forgot about. Um

037is there anywhere on there where we're going to permanently put that we're 2012 6A champions, football champions? We can. So I if you recall by the picture, Don, do you have can you pull up the one picture of the actual scoreboard, please while I'm sitting here gabbing and then I can share with the board a little bit uh in the public so they kind of know um because I had Don cue this up. This one? No, the other one. Let's go back to that one though. Let's go back to that one. So I I I just wanted to show this picture because um Dr. Dr. Hall had asked me kind of a a mockup of what it would look like with a video board there. So again, this is just a sample of one, but

038this would be like home of the warriors that right now would be down here on our board. And again, they would just take that, move that up, and you could put the video board in the middle here. So that that's actually what would happen from a video standpoint and everything right now. Um, is that what we have now? That's what we're going to be getting and that. So, this is a message board, an LED message board here. Um, I put Winterist in here because I wanted, you know, whatever. Uh, so uh uh so that can be like messaging like cheering or do doing whatever. It's not video, but it's just kind of messaging to get the crowd going. These two on the side here are can be permanent uh messaging, you know, for advertising. Um,

039we are going to talk to the Warrior Booster Club to see if they'll donate toward this so they could get recognition there and then so we can do some other things. We can put state champion over here if we have to and all that stuff too. Okay. So, so the answer is yes on that. But I just want to show because visual. Okay. Any other questions for Ken? So, we're talking about when we get to the next action item, a total of roughly what? $90,000 there about $85,000. 85 to 90,000. Yes. Yes. Okay. All right. Okay. Can I get a motion to approve a proposal and award number four? Number four. Can I get a motion to approve a proposal and award a contract in the amount of $64,89144 to Nevco, Inc. for the purchase

040of a scoreboard for the football field? So moved. Second. Any other questions or comments? Okay. Roll call when you're ready. Mrs. Walters. I Mr. Sales I Brown is an I Dr. Hall I Mrs. Galbreth. Hi, Vice President RP. I, President Albert, I. Motion carries. Next up, can I have can I get a motion to approve a proposal and award a contract in the amount of $23,500 to Timeout Services LLC for the installation of a scoreboard for the football field? Moved. Second. Any questions or comments on this specific motion? Not yet. Roll call. Brown is an I. Mrs. Galbreth. Hi. Mr. Sales. Hi. Dr. Hall. I. Mrs. Walters. I. Vice President RP. I. President Albert. I. Okay. Motion carries. Um, next up on personnel and culture. Can I get a motion to approve contract for assistant

041superintendent of personnel and culture? Move. Second. Any questions or comments? Okay. Hearing none. Roll call. Brown is an I. Dr. Hall. I. Mr. SWish. Hi, Mrs. Walters. I, Mrs. Galbreth, I, Vice President RP, I, President Albert, I. Motion carries. Uh, next up is old business. Any old business? The only The only question I had, Ken, I know we talked about it last week or last month. Couple things to keep on the the back burner. The fieldhouse floor. Yes. Okay. And then we host a lot of freshman activities in there. Uh, athletics. I know we're talking about scoreboards, right? Something to think in the future, a scoreboard in there if we're going to host um volleyball or freshman basketball or whatever it is for boys and girls. Okay. Yes. And I don't know if we're going

042to have any future indoor track or anything that happens in there. Okay. I have one for the back burner also for you, Ken. The washer and dryer for athletics. I apologize. forgot about I apologize. Okay, thank you. Yep. And I just have a couple things here. Ken, I'm looking at our projects that we're have invoked. You know, Sean Pal's here, too. What's that mean? I got one for you, too. Okay. She's trying to hide behind that mask over there. Yeah. I was going to turn around and confront her. Okay. No. Uh, but so we are on target. I think Bill asked several times where we are as far as the status of our project. So I'm just actually looking at the shortterm facility improvement plan. So we are on target where we should be in

043the summer roughly by the end of the summer. Is it true that we should be completed with all of our life safety issues? We should be completed with most I think all of our life safety issues. Uh our architect is looking at that. Now I think the one thing and I and I appreciate the question because this is something I did want to share with the board. So we did get the bids and I I shared this in my FYI. I believe uh we did get the bids in for the work at Tala and ELC this summer. The bids came in $2.2 million over budget. Uh so my recommendation is u I have to talk to our attorney about this so I'm glad Eric here uh and um my recommendation is to do the asbestous

044abatement and the flooring at Talala this summer so we can get the asbestous done all of our buildings then rebid everything come fall. The reason there's a couple reasons why the bids came in so high. One was um I think they went out a little bit late because of all the work we're doing and the specs that had to be done. That's number one. Number two, we did find out that a lot of the case work that is going to be used and some of the other uh things were going to be coming in in August and September. that meant they had to be installed using overtime and all of that which raised up the cost. Um so because a lot of those are labor costs. So um I would rather I would prefer and

045that would mean we would not do any work here in ELC this summer and that which this summer was going to be painting flooring and cubicle. All the asbestous really is taken care of in this building. There are two small rooms back here that have some asbestous, but they're really not used, but all the other speesus is out of this building and then we've had that tested. So, we would just postpone doing the work in this building until next summer along with all the other ones. So, in this building, it was going to be flooring, carpeting, and cubicles. So, we'll post I would recommend this one. Okay. Okay. So, I just want clarity. Sure. So abating asbestous is not in and of itself life safety issues. It sounds scary that it's not but that is

046something we want to rid oursel of. So, so specifically life safety issues, will we be completed by this year? With all of our life safety issues from our 2013 life safety survey, because as you know, it's a 10-year every time 10 years come roll around, right? Which is this year, we start the new cycle. I I can say for certainty that 90% will be done. I'll have to look at the entire list and I'll go through and by the next board meeting I can have an answer direct answer. Can you be proactive because again we are we cannot delay the life safety survey. That's by law, right? Yeah, you're right. So we have to start that process this year with a new life safety survey and it' be great to get those old things. So

047because for years 1993 2003 we were seeing repetitive issues come up on a survey and I thought for once we was going to have a clean slate which is very commendable for what you have done in your team to knock these life safety issues. I'll have a definite answer for you by by the next board meeting. I can share with you an exact list and when our architect is looking to do Sure. a new life safety issue probably most likely combined with a new physical assessment too. Well, we have the physical assessment all set. I mean that's that's pretty well set. Well, that's good. That's good. Yeah. Yeah, we have that all set. So, you know, and that it's it's again doing the life safety issue and then seeing if there's any new items that

048come up because of codes and all. Go ahead. Just the last question. Do you think you need to be proactive and engage the regional superintendent? Just kind of let them know where we are. I'd like to do the study first to see where we're at first and if things are going to uh be completed by the end of the summer. I think I think we'll be fine. There's no need to contact the reend. So, let me let me see where we're at first and then then I can I can go from there. Okay. Thank you. Does the 10% include MEC and everything we didn't do there? Um I haven't even included that in our plan. So the 90 means all the buildings all the buildings without not including MEC because we haven't done anything at

049MEC from from that. So that means this summer's projects what Mr. Brown's talking about. So that's Tal and ELC where we're at now. The other three CSK, Bulmore and and um are the chillers coming in? Yes, those are all coming in. In fact, they've already started getting the UNI events in and all of that. So, we started that process last fall uh because we learned from the previous summer. So, that's those are in pretty good shape right now. And that that contract has all been approved and all that. So, yes. Well, we're on schedule for that. We're on schedule so far. Yes. Can I have one other? And I might be remembering this incorrectly, but weren't we supposed to have a bleacher inspection? We did have a bleacher inspection. Did Did we hear about that?

050Was everything okay? We did hear about it. Everything they are safe. There are some repairs that need to be done. So Keith is working on getting all those repairs done. Okay. I don't remember seeing any update on it. So just I can I can share with you the report. I have the report. I believe you. I was I'm walking the tracks now. So it made me think about it. So everything is good then. Everything is good. It is it is Wasn't there a question about the score the announcers box or something? I think there was but all that came back fine structurally it's fine because there there are some repairs that are needed. So we're going to take care of those. Okay. And it'll be ready for football season. Football season. Great. The scoreboard will

051be ready for football season. Okay. Thank you. Any other old business items? Any new business? Okay. We do have a need for close session tonight. Um, and before I get that motion, just so the public knows, when we come out of close session, we will have a couple of items um, yet to approve. Um, and uh, I think we'll be in closed, I'd say 45 minutes or so. So, can I get a motion to go into close session for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees? Moved. Second. Roll call. I We're enclosed at 7:16. Okay, we're back in open session at call it 8:02 p.m. Uh, can I get a We have several things to approve. Um, first off, can I get a motion to approve superintendent's evaluation for 2022-2023? Moved.

Can I get a motion for approval of resignation agreement with non-certified? A question before you go to 12B. Do we need a motion to remove that or no? No, we do not. Okay. So we going right to 12 Charlie, right? 12 Charlie. Yes. Okay. So move. Second. Any questions or comments? Okay. Roll call when you're ready. Brown is an I. Mrs. Galbert. I. Dr. Hall. Mr. Sales.
