Thank you. >> Well, guys, first of all, I want to thank my fellow board members. Um, this is an immense opportunity. Um, Mr. Miranda has set this bar extremely high and I will try my best to to keep going. We have a lot of work to do. So, Let's just get to it. >> Okay. Okay. just want to say and I wrote something because it is bittersweet and I definitely didn't advocate um and I'm a big believer that that you can't sit in the same place for too long and and often you have to see things differently for different areas so that

you can come up with new ideas. Um, but I do want to sincerely thank let the board know that I've been I'm very grateful for your support and the confidence you have placed in me throughout my term as president. Uh, today I think it was five years. Uh, working alongside such a dedicated board and board members, administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and community partners has been inspiring and extremely rewarding. Together we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and remain focused on what matters the most. Providing the best possible education for our students, the best facilities, the best parts, and and everything that we did, we try to do with our best intention and heart. I want to thank each and every one of you for your collaboration, your commitment, and your passion to our schools and our

vision. Because yeah, that's right. It was a vision that we all culminated together. I am proud of the progress we've made together and I'm so deeply appreciative of the opportunity to contribute into this important work. Thank you for your encouragement and for your unwavering support in our missions. And you know comes a time in life when you have to somewhat give back to your family and your children and your wife and and keep a huh home very happy. So, I just want to give back and give a little more time and we don't know what the future holds, but I truly thank each and every one of you. You guys have been exceptional. I've watched many boards come and go, uh, many different elected officials and you're far the best I've seen. So, thank you

everybody. >> Well, guys, let's continue with the meeting. Um, I open the floor for the nominations for vice president of the Boot Board of Education. I'd like to nominate Miss Rucket this >> any second. >> No. Any other nomination? >> Any other nom? >> Now we need to close the nominations. Moo. Motion and seconded by >> There are no further nominations. Is there a motion to close the floor? Motion >> second. >> All in favor? >> Any opposed? >> Roll call. >> Yes. Uh, Mrs. Alvarez. >> Yes. >> Mr. Alvarez. >> Yes. >> Mr. Chavez. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Cruz. >> Yes. >> Mr. Miranda. >> Yes. >> M. Nim. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Olivo. >> Yes. >> M. Ruckett. Yes, >> Mr. Song. >> Now, is there a motion to elect Mrs. BC Ruffet

as vice president? >> Motion. >> Congratulations. >> Okay. Congratulations. >> Once he did the roll call, it's official. >> Okay. >> I thought he I thought we closed the >> nomination. All in favor? Perfect. Moving to resolution 8.11 which is for approvals of action item 81 through 810. Is there a motion to approve 811 >> motion? I do think that >> wait we need discussion on that 182. >> There is an issue on >> just a question. March 16th 2026 is a Monday. >> You know why? Well, I know that it's a Monday. >> Tuesday is >> St. Patrick's Day. Yeah. So, just making sure. I'm just making sure it's not a typo. >> Okay. >> I left that up to time with you. You're good. >> Just because there usually a lot of stuff

going on at that time of year. So, if we could do it on that Monday night, >> I'm just making sure that's all. Thank you. >> Um, so you usually we have the third Tuesday. So, that's the one day. It's not the third Tuesday. And also there's a budget uh tentative approval needs to be done that week. So we cannot have the following with it should be that week. So instead of Tuesday that that Monday >> the Monday is >> uh the other one is not third Tuesday is the May 12th because May 15 is the certificate of staff renewals due. So it is the second Tuesday and in August always we had the last week and the last one is the October 27th. It's the fourth Tuesday because the we have the schoolboard association

workshop convention in the 19th through 22nd uh that week. So we have to do the following week other than those four days all is in the third Tuesday. >> Thank you. So is there a motion to approve? >> Motion motion second. >> Second, Miss Rucket. >> Uh so >> one one thing is about the A10 >> it it is the delegate an alternate delegate we are uh appointing. If it's not going to be this time, maybe we can table that for now. >> I I would suggest you do a so you can learn the roles. >> So we have >> So then we table. >> So the motion's just going to be approve. >> 89. >> Table 810. >> So the same motion and the second. >> Wait. So 81 to 89. >> 810. Uh

01789. >> 89. >> So motion to move. >> Going to roll call. >> We don't need to go through for motion because if we didn't have data filled in on 810. So the motion. >> So it was Miranda for motion look for a second and I'm and there's a roll call. Any board discussion? >> All you know. Okay. >> All right. Roll call down. Mrs. Alvarez, >> yes. >> Mr. Alvarez, >> yes. >> Mrs. Cruz, >> yes. >> Mr. Miranda, >> yes. >> Mrs. Naim, >> yes. >> Mrs. Olivo, >> yes. >> Mrs. Salam. >> Miss Ruckett, >> yes. >> Mr. Chavis, >> yes. >> Recommendation before you finalize that vote. Miss Naim uh just sat there. I I would caution just to stay for both because she what familiarity may she possibly have. >>

Um I sent the agenda in advance today. >> If you don't feel comfortable, you can abstain or >> know exact. So I'm just making a recommendation. >> It's her choice. I mean there's nothing wrong here or like detrimental to movement, but I like to make sure she's >> Yeah. I mean >> comfortable, >> you know, you're you're free to stay if you want, but these are generally routine >> uh you know standard resolutions that the board does at the reorg all the time. So whatever your comfort zone is um you know you can you can either abstain or or vote on them um or you don't have to vote on all stayain on circuit ones as well but they are all you know generally routine not general they are all routine resolutions that the board

does at every >> yeah I have looked before because I have received in the email the agenda and it looks normal so I will go with it. Yes. Motion carried. Next on the agenda is old business item 91. Is there any old business the board would like to discuss? I do have one. Um during our last meeting I wanted to put on the table I think I actually not wanted to I put on the table u the renaming of our career technical building in somewhat shape or form and I don't have the right words but I thought if you know Kennedy was so uh uh that's where his heart and pride and soul was at and I wanted to make sure that this board can move forward. So I'd like to put a motion on

the floor to name uh the career technical with the Damian Kennedy uh Career Technical Center um if that's a possibility. I know that we're using CTE as a acronym for what is usually called, but I think we could change it up. So, um, I I love to put that that motion on the floor. If anyone could move it, I'll appreciate you and and and your ideas, whatnot. >> We're good with motion. >> I'll second it. >> Okay. Motion, Mr. Miranda. Second, Mrs. Olivo. Roll call. Is there a roll call or is >> I do or do there's any further discussion on it and then we do a roll call. Any discussion? >> And are we okay with the the technical senator? I mean, I think it just a little better, but it could be. >>

We we have to decide the name with this motion. Right now, >> we we really should. I mean, if you want to revisit it, clarify it at the next meeting. We've been adopted. We do that. But, um, >> yeah, you have to you do have to ultimately come down to the name of it. So, you know, you could have the Damian Kennedy Career Technical Education School is But that gets the whole >> career technical education CTE component of it in there. >> Okay. >> Um it's, you know, tech, it'll be shortened to whatever people can, >> but at least everything's on there. You guys, you know, you really should decide. >> That's what I said. the Kennedy Center. >> So what I thought initially in the last video was I said Kennedy Career Technical Center

>> and you have to have the first you have I want his first name first name apparently. So it's part of the naming and I think people will start >> we have to differentiate. >> I just don't know how to fit Damian Kennedy in front of the building. >> I mean you can just you can technically call the Damian Kennedy CTE building but maybe for short people will just say Kennedy building. We could we could write it out, you know, the long way and then however get abbreviated, it'll get abbreviated. >> Denny, >> no, >> I guess personally. >> No, thank you, if you I guess the roll calls on the floor and whatever this vote goes, I do appreciate every single one of you. I I know that and I repeat it over and

over again on first call and that was his that he had his heart settled on that that was a dream and that became a very quick reality because it's one it takes a long time to get first cream but we did it in two years so >> so we have to keep on it in the name of it also then >> but what if it what if it was like the the Damen Kennedy Center CTE building because the CTE building is what it is the Damen Kennedy Center CTE building >> I mean as long as we as long as we write it out and then we can abbreviate So, Mr. Kennedy, >> it could be >> you don't violate any uh regulations here. What would you think it should be? You're in the education man.

>> I would suggest that maybe we wait and put this on at the next meeting and really kick this around a little bit. I mean, I I know we've spoke about this. Um, I mean to say it's an honor would be and to have something like that um >> for educator is something that I can't even comprehend at this moment. I know we spoke about it but I really rather uh maybe we meet with a committee after some committees are formed and >> get some insight. >> I think we should but we have to it's going to take a while. >> Yeah. Why don't we just do a motion and a resolution tonight to name the building after Damian. Perfect form resolution like I draft get wants to look at it >> which has some

whereas clauses nice language in it and then we can nail down the exact name >> that works on the floor. >> All right. How you feel? >> Mr. Sess Mr. Alvarez. >> Yes. Mrs. Cruz. >> Yes. >> Mr. Miranda. >> Mr. Barrett. Mr. Moretta. It's just a time. Yeah. >> Mrs. Sn. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Solivo. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Salah. Miss Rackett. >> Yes. >> Mr. Chavez. >> Yes. >> Motion carried. Since we are in old business last time that this happened, I also said um in appreciation to Mr. Frank Miranda and his dedication. Um I believe these two gentlemen worked extremely hard to make all this happen. Um yes, we were there with them, but they spearheaded this whole thing. And I believe that we should name the welcoming rotunda on Figal Field

the Frank Miranda Rotunda just for their purposes of just being there making sure that everything was done. The amount of work and effort that you put in this and obviously we are not compensed enough. um the dedication, the sleepless nights, the um not being with your family, it's very hard and it gets very heavy to for these two gentlemen, we saw them do the exact thing that we needed them to do. They were always two steps ahead of everything. And I would definitely want to put a motion to name the rotunda as the Frank Miranda ve. Can >> I ask a question? >> I I agree. I think Frank has done an amazing job with all of this. Um I just I wonder if this should also be tabled to know where does the name

go? What does it look like? I mean, you enter under the name of the field. >> No, you're not. No. >> No. No. No. No. No. >> The tunnel is when you come in, it's it's the welcoming. It's a little welcoming plaza. >> I understand. But how? >> His name's not gonna go where Figo that's what I'm saying. Maybe we can discuss what that is. >> It could even be a brick. >> Okay. >> As long as the brick is on the >> Just a suggestion tonight. We can, you know, depending on how you want to do it, we'll obviously go through that, right? >> What I think is if we bring a motion, we should just bring the motion tonight to rename to to name it. to name the rotunda. Once the committees are

filled, then we then elect and what they're going to do with them. >> Right. Correct. >> Are we going to call the rotunda or plaza? >> Again, we can we can hash that out later, right? As long as we name it under >> the motion on the table would be just to name the the rotund >> and then you can't accept the exact name of it. All that stuff, you know, the president committee, >> correct? >> Uh, and then we'll >> hash those things out. Then we would do superseding resolutions. Um, you know, preferably later this month or you know, whatever you guys decide on everything and it would be superseding resolution some details that should be in the minutes of the board. >> Yep. >> Roll call. >> So wait, he who second? >>

Nobody. Nobody. confirmed your mode. >> Nobody confirmed your Nobody >> Olivo >> moved second. >> Yes. >> So I I put the motion second Trina. >> Right. Mrs. Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Gl >> Yes. >> Mr. Miranda. >> Mrs. Na. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Oliva. >> Yes. Mr. Salom. >> Yes. >> Mr. Ruckett. >> Yes. >> Mr. Chavez. >> Yes. >> Motion carried. >> Congratulations, gentlemen, for the hard work and dedication you guys make. Thank you in much. >> Um, let's move forward. 10.1. Next on the agenda is new business. At items 10.1, is there any new business the board would like to discuss? No new business. Moving on to section 11.1, open the floor of hearing to the public. Is there a motion to open the floor to hearing of the

public? Mr. Miranda, >> Mr. Oliva. >> Any board discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> They have five minutes. >> Okay. Is there any member? Is it this one? Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Is there any member of the public who would like to address the board? Speakers, please state name and street address. >> No address. Yes. Just state your name. >> Just state your name. >> You have five minutes. Sure. >> I guess it is okay. Five minutes is pretty generous. So, thank you. I've never gotten that. So, that's pretty generous. But this is Bagotto. You guys are wonderful. Um, I want to congratulate um, congratulations to Dalia Alvarez and Trina Olivia and on your reelection and a huge congratulations to Amarine Naim on her first election victory. What a powerful slate and an incredible

night for BOD. I also want to take a special moment to recognize Frank Miranda, a leader who is truly genuine and authentic. His deep care for his town and its people is evident in everything he does. His encouragement, belief in others, and steady leadership were the driving force behind tonight's victory. Bagota witnessed something truly special this evening. Throughout this campaign, Bagota showed who we are. This community stood together across race, religion, and ethnicity and voted for leadership, experience, and vision. Bagota chose Amarine because of her proven leadership as principal of Crescent Academy and her unwavering commitment to education. Her impressive credentials include a master's degree in finance to support strong fiscal stewardship, a degree in childhood education, and meaningful work with the Bergen County Department of Special Education serving students with special abilities. Tonight, Bagota

celebrated unity over division and progress over prejudice. This January during Muslim Heritage Month, Bagota made history by electing its first Muslim member to the board of education. In Islam, the very first revelation was zikra, which means read. Education is sacred and teachers and those who serve educational institutions are held in the highest regard. The world's first university, the University of Alarowine, was founded in 859 AD by a Muslim woman, Fatima Alihiri in FZ, Morocco. It remains the oldest existing institution still granting degrees today, recognized by the Guinness World Records. This legacy reminds us all, whether you're Muslim or non-Muslim alike, of the transformative power of education and its role in shaping future generations. This moment is about more than one victory. It is about the power of education, inclusion, and community. and Bagota, tonight you

honored that past, embraced the present, and invested in the future of our children. Serving as a board of education trustee is a blessing, a privilege, and a responsibility. And we thank all of you for your commitment and service to Bota. Congratulations to all BOD. You did it. Thank you. >> Anyone else? Nadia. >> Yep. Hi, good evening everyone. This is Nadia Hussein from Tina. You're near right next door. Uh I'm calling to congratulate my friend Amber Naimm. Amber, congratulations and congratulations to all the uh all who all those who were victorious. Just wanted to share a little bit of information about Amber. Amber and I have been friends and colleagues for the past 12 years. She and I were both teachers in a program in our mosque. And what I admire about Amber was her

dedication and her commitment to our students, her accountability, fairness, and a belief that every student should have access to a strong, safe, and highquality education. I will forever remember those days at Darla Islam Amber for it was just you and me. Uh on behalf of everyone who believes in public education and communitydriven leadership, we are proud of you, your Boda Board of Education, all of your members for the hard work you do and for the diversity that you guys reflect. Thank you all for everything. Take care. >> Thank you very much. >> Anyone else? Anybody on? Is there a motion to close hearing of the puff? >> Motion. Mrs. Ruckett. >> Second. Mr. Miranda. Any discussion? >> All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion to adjurnn. >> Motion Cruz. >> Second. >> Alvarez. >> All

in favor? >> I. >> Gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, have a great night. Thank you for coming. Um, >> congratulations. Congratulations to everyone.
