One more. One more. Congratulations to all of our students of the month. We are very proud of you guys. Uh the second presentation we have this evening is Blooming with Creativity with Miss Danielle Fleming. >> Okay, so Miss Fleming, I'm thank you for coming. I've had the honor. She is at central school what six years now Miss Fleming how many

years do I have only four six years I'm saying she has tenure she skipped everything um she I have the privilege of working with Miss Fleming often on articulation meetings if you see things in the community like our artwork displayed in all the businesses the chalk murals the bewitched event like we support the burrow in every way we can and Miss Fleming and that group does a lot of that work so she presented at the teachers convention in November and I asked her to come this evening just to talk about what she presented there and we're very proud of her. So, come on up. Thank you. >> Okay. Hello everyone. Thank you for having me. I'm very excited to present today what I did at the NJA conference. So, I'm gonna turn this way so

I'm not like exactly behind you. Can I take it off? >> Do I need the mic? >> I do. Okay. >> Thank you. >> All right. Um, so I presented at the NG conference. It's my fourth year presenting. And this one's a little special because what I wanted to do was have this for all the teachers. So any teacher in any curriculum could go to this PD and take something away to their classroom. So it's called Blooming with Creativity: Clay Flowers across the curriculum. Um I did a little spiel about myself. Um as well as being a teacher here, I'm also a board member of the Art Educators of New Jersey. I'm the advocacy chair and my role there is to advocate for the arts, for the school, and most importantly for the students. So,

I curate art shows across New Jersey. Um, a lot of our students are in there and I see some board members that some students have been in the art shows themselves. Um, and the biggest one that I do is present at this conference. >> The national one. Yes. And I'm not presenting there, but I'm hoping next year because that's in New York. So, I did clay flowers. Um, this is a lesson I really love and all my lessons that I do have all different curriculum in it. There's always ELA, science, social studies. There's at least three different curriculums. It's not just art. So, I presented this and this is what they were going to do. Um, we use model magic. It's like a clayike substance. It's really good for manipulating especially for the students that

is hard to like manipulate things. um OT it's great for or PT or any of our other students. Um research stands that hands-on experiences improve focus and memory. Um creating flowers connects to knowledge across subjects making learning meaningful. And when students make art, they don't just learn, they remember. And I'm going to deate myself with this. So when I was little, the best thing that I loved doing was doing book reports. Not because I had to read the book or had to write it. It's because I made the cover. And that was like the most exciting thing ever. And that also made me remember like what did I learn from the book? What was the story about? What was the main characters? And I remember getting those plastic sheets, putting them on there with the

little things like sliding it down and the feel of it was like amazing. But things like that you're always going to remember and you're going to always retain that information and you're going to retain it even more. So art connection obviously it's building, shaping, introduce concepts of texture and all that other stuff. I'm going to kind of go through it quick. I also do um SEAL. I think that's really important. I had a lot of training when I was in New Brunswick on this and I gave PDS on this as well. Art is social emotional learning across the board. Um so this could go at any curriculum matter. ELA connections. So what I did was I put each subject area and how they connected to their curriculum and what they could do. So I gave

them some ideas of how they could connect this flower to it for science as well. There's so much that you could do with this with science learning about the flowers pollination. Um we also can connect this to our new standards that we have for environmental learning math connection. This one in particular is really math because you have to balance everything at symmetry. you have to like put it across um and also across the other way. It's really using your math mind for this and then I just had the steps. So as I put this up, I did the steps myself with clay and everyone followed it. So as I was doing that, they were seeing what I was doing and also had it that they could read it if they kind of forgot or missed

a step. The painting too. So they painted it, they had to mix colors. That's a big science part. I put what colors do blend together, what groups any of those groups would blend together, which ones don't. And this again was not for only our teachers. A lot of teachers came from different curriculum for this. So they didn't really know what colors blended. And then this part I put all the standards in from every grand ban. So it's like K to two, three to four or five, six to eight and high school. So, if they clicked on to this, it would give them all the standards and everything they needed to know for their lesson. So, um I can't click it on it here, but um I do have it separately and I believe that it

was printed out so you could see like all the standards and the AEI was really a big help for this because normally I would have to go into the New Jersey standards website and then like look through everything and pick it out. I was like, please connect like ELA standards for this lesson. and I typed in my lesson what I did and it just popped up everything and then I cross-cheed it just to make sure because I'm like that. Um, but for that it saved me so much time like that would have took me hours to do. Instead it maybe took me an hour. So even though that's long it's not as long as like four hours that I would have probably been doing this for every single grade band for everything. And also as

I said I put diversity inclusion in it and climate standards that are also newer to New Jersey. Um, I had this. So, if you click onto that code, that'll bring the whole presentation up. So, everyone had it when they left. And also, I had my email address, which I have got a lot of emails from the participants asking questions or examples for things. So, I just took pictures of what happened. Usually, when I present, I get 12 to 25 people. I had over 40 people that came and it was for and anyone that's ever been to a teacher conference whenever you take these workshops there's like not a lot of people in it. So I was very pleasantly surprised. Um there were people that we had to turn away because we didn't have any seats

and I was really happy that I was able to do something that benefited all the teachers, not just our educators. Um and it was really special. Um there's a video of them working. Um, and everyone seemed to really have a good experience for it. And that's it. I think Danielle, uh, you know, sells herself a little short there, too. She also started the National Junior Arts Society. We did not have that. You know, the board's commitment to um, SEAL. Obviously, social emotional learning is is just it has its role in its major, but she's really supportive working with the kids on those areas as well. um the honor society. I'm thinking about the conferences that you're saying you're presenting at. We go to school boards and there are some workshops we go into that have

three people in it or have 40. So that is that is huge. Um and really I thank you very much for coming forward. I know the board thanks you as well. But it means a lot for the people in the community and the kids to see you know all the hard work that you do for the kids and um thank you >> and thank you and I want to also have a special guest for you Miss Voy for being so encouraging and supportive and asking me to present today. It really means a lot because you don't have that a lot when you're at other districts. So, we really appreciate you. Thank you. >> I appreciate you. Thank you. >> And thank you board members for having me. >> Does anyone have any questions for Miss

Fleming? >> What was >> Microphone. >> The honor society you mentioned. >> Say that again. I didn't hear you. All right. So, the National Junior Art Honor Society, it's like the National Honor Society for Artic there is a criteria for it like you have to have a certain grade average in art or like have a portfolio to show it, be passionate about art. And we that's where we focus where the community arts come in like where we do the murals, where we do um special art for all the events that are in the town. Like those are the core kids that really do it. And then that's great for like if they're going to a special high school or even in college to use that as they're moving on. >> But even some of the

places that she was discussing board that uh you know she goes to every one of every one of those submissions where one of our students wins an award of some sort whether it's Mammoth County it's credential center wherever all the places she's always there with all of our kids to show that and I think that that's really important for the kids to make that connection. >> Yeah. The county and state show are coming up and I did submit artwork so fingers crossed that we get I think we are we have like some amazing artwork. I can't wait to show it to everyone. >> Thank you >> Mr. Staley. >> Yes. Uh thank you for your work. Uh regarding um as a teacher here in Nikapport I had two thoughts. One, could you talk about the

impact of this kind of work with students on their imagination and also about um the impact particularly on the social emotional part like what do you observe in them in those two two areas >> um for this particular lesson or just an art class itself >> just um >> in general >> okay so the seal part of social emotional because it before that even came a thing art has been using it like forever because you're using your emotions you're using how you're feeling and art a lot of kids like to come to art just to do art to feel better and makes them happy it's a class that you look forward to going to hopefully I mean it's not all people you know and that could be for gym music all the special areas this

is like the stress-free classes so what as a educator I try to make my environment where everyone feels feel safe and respected. And I'm very big on that. Like I want to make sure that everyone feels like they belong. I also want to make the mood of the art room, make it nice and colorful, maybe dim a light, play music while they're working. So that's all kind of like connecting to social emotional stress anxiety. So really, it's an anxiety and stress reliever for most kids. I wouldn't say all. And I have some students in there. I hope for you. That is a way that you love being there and have fun. um and also learn so and doing these PDs for other teachers. I love going to workshops because I want to always learn and

educate myself and make myself a better teacher. I think that's really important. And also to connect to those other teachers like I'm the only art teacher in the school. So like I don't have that I don't have that person to talk to or connect to or bounce ideas from. So when I'm in this organization I have a ton of people to do that and again it makes me a better teacher for my students. At least I hope it does. Um, but social emotional, I think it's really important just to be able to paint, to feel what you're doing, to like connect to the artwork and get your ideas out instead of with words. You could do it with yourself, bringing a little piece of yourself onto paper or a sculpture. >> Is it one of

the course works you're taking in the area of special needs? >> Yeah. So, I'm doing an autism spectrum disorder masters. So to understand that better and to also bring that to the classroom because that's really important. I feel like that's a big >> thing right now and it's being more noticed and I think that everyone should be able to connect with everyone for that. >> Thank you again. Any other questions? >> I don't have a question just a statement. We appreciate you and what you do for the students and uh like Dr. Seavoya said, "We see the time you put out at the in the state and the counties with the students and we really appreciate it." >> Thank you. I appreciate that. >> Any other questions? >> Thank you very much for coming and

sharing your passion with us. We do really appreciate what you are doing for our students. >> Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Thank you. >> Um, okay. Our students can all go home now. If you would like, you are free to go. Thank you for staying for our participation. >> Mr. Ortiz, if you would like to leave, you can go as well and do your homework. >> Have a good night. >> All right. Um, okay. the president's remarks. Uh the Mammoth County SBA meeting will be on um February 3rd, so please sign up if you are able to. This is a virtual meeting, so it's a great way to get credit for your certifications and not have to even leave home. So yeah, there's a lot of things on this agenda. There's a lot

of stuff going on. So if you're able to sign up for it, please do. Um and then lastly, um Dr. Mr. Tim Tihan will be at our next meeting for our last board certification training for our master board um on the 4th of February. So that's exciting that that will be finished. Uh Dr. Seavoya communication. >> Yes, we uh regrettably uh received two uh letters of retirement. One from Colleen Depalo. Um you everybody knows her. Um she is uh with us almost 20 years and Miss Sprro at the high school. I think she has 24 years. So, we received their letters of resignation. >> Thank you. Uh public participation on agenda items. Uh superintendent report, Dr. Seavoya. >> Okay. Uh we had several things. It's a lot uh lengthy report, but I'll focus on some

of uh the highlights. Uh we had on 1726, which is right at after the last board meeting, we held a superintendent coffee with students. and I don't never know who the principles are going to get me. I just tell them to get me some students and I want to talk with them. Um I did feel like I left a board meeting. It it was a it was a tough group. Um they they talked to me about performance uh you know the rigor in kindergarten. Um you know speaking I sent them an email with the board meeting dates. Uh they talked to me about um my gosh there were so many things. It was launch. It was so many different things. It was and even Mr. follow. Um I think they might plan a little something

special for her leaving. But uh they were all very respectful. But I will tell you um you know even the apps like how to follow things and get them invested using their portal things like that because again it's intrinsically motivating them. But I ended up I think with the whole student council I I don't know it doesn't matter. Um but I did get a pulse on a few things and um one particular young lady did comment about the rigor in kindergarten. So we're going to meet with her and review the kindergarten curriculum so she can have that. So, it was it was it was fun. It really was. I love it. So, next week, I think I'm doing something with staff, so I'll give you more information to follow. Um, we had 28 applications to

Rising Stars. Um, 11 of them from Union Beach. Um, it's competitive, so I'm hoping that we'll attract a lot of people there. So, I'm very excited about that one. I'll let you know what the uh outcome is. Um, and then our partnership with Hazel Health, if you recall, that was a grant that we received for online therapy. Um, as the AI innovation grant concludes, Miss White, Miss uh, White and White will compile and share all the data, the comprehensive documentation that's um, linked there for all of you to see the instructional uses of what we've done and what we achieved. Um, as one of our last AI initiatives, Kiker Learning will be on site on the 27th to work with our central school staff during the grade level meetings using a lot of AI tools

and some easy wins. Uh the district's also going to be pilot piloting grammarly authorship in grade eight and grade nine ELA classes to support uh responsible writing practice and instructional transparency as AI expands. Um it's something that we're hoping to really incorporate. So a pilot gives us that opportunity. Uh two miss two motions are on the agenda for you to authorize the submission of newly released competitive grants for the DOE. The first is the climate literacy innovation opportunity grant. I call it cleo and the amount of $45,000 which will support our climate summer programming. I don't know if anybody um in with students in the district that attended it was one of the best summer programming events. It was very experiential. So, we're truly hoping as a formal climate grant winner that we we uh

you know are acknowledged. It's it's there's only 10 uh districts that will be in receipt. And the second one is brand new. Uh it's the learning acceleration program, high impact tutoring. That's about $80,000 and that will allow us to um do a third round of high impact tutoring for students grades three to eight. So it's going to run from this May to May of 27. Um both of those will be submitted and fingers crossed we're on a really good roll. In fact, anybody I see at a conference is like, "Okay, yeah, Keyport, they get everything." And there was a time where we didn't. So we're out there hustling. In addition, the recreation grants on here as well. That's something that we're going to apply for in regards to get uh removing the wood chips from

the big playground um outside. If we get it, that's great. But we we got to be in it to win it. Um the adoption and review process for the ELA 6 to2 remember grant funded. It's one of it's either lift rise coach or it's one of the many grants. Uh we had our first meeting today. Miss Wait did an extraordinary job at getting the group together and us working to adopt and review all of the materials with a May target of a recommendation. So at any point, you know, everything's in that folder for the board to look at. If there's any point where you'd like to see the materials, please let me know because we're going to look at a variety of um offerings that are all ed data ed data or research based, sorry.

Um, in addition, we're hiring. We have a couple of employees that we're hiring. Um, I did speak to Miss Sprro and Miss Stalo. Um, Colleen is, you know, my acronym for her is Ricochet Rabbit. She is always somewhere at the central school. It is going to be a big loss. Miss Sprro at the high school teaching English. So, um, definitely some losses, but we wish them the best. The high school and central school. Congratulations to Jackson Hubler for being the script spelling be champion of central school. So the next stop is the county level. Um you'll also see the student data delivery s uh submission on the agenda. That is where we have to report out each twice a year and it'll tell you all of the um reporting whether it's HIB, whether it's um

discipline, things to that such charts included. Um we have our students and staff members of the month. Uh our perfect attendance winners for um our Miss Braithweight, Miss Camper. First of all, I finally get to go to the high school. But I I think there's a trend with the winners of the personal day and the uh preps uh the uh free time I give them because it's always prek and K. >> Do you have to teach math? Does that mean >> um No, I think I have I don't know that that that would be a problem. Um no, I um we'll use the sub plans on that one, but I don't know what you'll give me. But that being said, it's nice to go to the high school. All righty then. um two masters and

a doctorate math is not my forte. Um KHS is excited to announce that we have 18 students in the class of 26 um applying for the seal of biiteracy. That's amazing. And if you look at some of the language Yoruba I can't I I can't pronunciate it correctly. Spanish. Uh I mean it's it's amazing. What what did I say? Did I say it didn't yub yub I I'm saying I said I don't know if I'm pronunciated correctly but um that person can uh master that at the high school you'll see them get their their uh seal of bio literacy um second uh second grade students at central school under the guidance of Miss Costa successfully completing submitted project for the presidential AI challenge which is great um exposing the kids how to use it responsibly

as Miss uh Fleming said you know it's a tool um it doesn't replace instruction just like a Chromebook does Not um on the 13th we held our our bilingual advisory committee. On the 21st we had our prek parent advisory meeting. Young author night is coming quickly board members February 12th we're going to do uh an open house for preschool on the same evening to connect things there. So that is a huge turnout for young author night. Looking forward to that. There were no new incidents of HIV at the high school or central school since we met on the 7th. The previous case was unfounded. I spoke to the HIB reporting, uh the uh SSDs reporting which is on there. It talks about the other incidences, HIV, HIV trainings programs, all of that's on there. Um

we're going to begin collecting cereal boxes for our fourth annual challenge. Um so it's out there so far. Um we have $500 um from Kuanas to purchase cereal boxes. We I think we were at 1100 next last year and we want to hit 2,000 this year. So we're cruising along. Coach Cares, come on. Um, so on that one, a board of ed finance policy. We have uh the 1021 meeting was scheduled as we talked about for during school board. So we're moving that. You'll see the resolution. Recourse America is on the sec is um February 2nd to the 6th, but I'm going to tell you, please let me know if you want to sign up for that. We might push out that same form we did last year, but I will have more to follow

with that. Um, policy alert uh 236 that committee has the board goal committee has a meeting if I'm not incorrect on the 4th. Tonight would be a first reading. We would not change if we do anything dramatic in changing then we would uh start the first reading again but I don't anticipate that to be the case. Um I did meet with Bashra Bucks last night and they are going to be moving their program. I think they might be rebranding too if I'm not incorrect, but they're going to be moving their program to um SJV. They did say that they will be donating some items to us um after they meet with their board. Um but there could be whether the the board here has to replace some items. We'll find out because um we'll know

at their next meeting. So, I'll let you know if we have to replace anything. um we spoke to this already but at uh Jose Ortiz Herrera cross country winter track bowling um amazing um have been selected as the recipients of the shore conference and I'm going to say that name wrong incorrectly as well for soccer and track so congratulations to them for their good sportsmanship um and then there are numerous uh upcoming events and fundraisers so please don't hesitate to um attend any of them and let me know if if you want to purchase something from one of the fun fundraisers. Thank you. >> Thank you. Uh board secretary, buildings and grounds and finance, Mr. Rapola. >> Thank you. I need to share with the board that the elevator here at the high school started

malfunctioning in uh in the middle of December and we had a number of uh companies come out and look at it. Uh ultimately it was decided they different companies had determined that there was an issue uh with the software the elevators from uh 1991. Uh and the original software was on a floppy disc. Um which they were hoping there was someone in the country that may still still have the software to program it. Um, but ultimately where this is going is, and it's not great, is that uh we're going to need a new elevator here at the high school. I've had three companies come out with quotes so far, and they're all pretty consistent. Uh, in the neighborhood of between 145 and about $175,000. Also a problem is they all have the same time frame

uh which is like 25 to 30 weeks uh to to to put it in. So uh we are preparing to not we haven't had the elevator uh working like I said since mid December and spoke to Dr. Seavoya and Mr. Waters today and and expressed that the timeline they're calling for is uh you know pretty much puts us through to the to the end of the year. Uh we are going to um need to uh obviously we're going to need to replace the elevator for a number of reasons, but uh what's not determined yet, but I'm sure you will see at the next meeting. Uh how we're going to pay for it, meaning it may be a withdrawal from Capital Reserve, uh we still need to Is it something that they're they're going to allow

us to pay for out of repairs? I don't think so. uh you know, we may have enough money still in our repair account, uh maintenance repairs, but I don't feel that uh uh the county superintendent and the auditors would allow us to uh put it under that. I feel like they're going to feel that it's a an asset that needs to uh be labeled as capital, which we don't have the funds in the current budget, but I did speak to the school board, excuse me, the >> Yeah, we had a midyear bud uh >> help me out. We had a mid budget review and and then we went to the county BA and told her >> and they were in agreement that they would allow us to make that transfer >> to to you know

do a midyear capital uh reserve withdrawal uh if we needed to do that. So I'll have more information to you soon I hope and and I'll share that uh >> with you as as it comes in. The elevator itself is uh all three companies will come back in the neighborhood of about 140 to 150,000. Uh however, each of those companies also expressed that there's an electrical component to that and there's uh permits uh and bringing things up to code and they all are projecting between like 25 and 35,000 >> uh for that part of it. and they all say that's going to be need to be through an outside contractor. Now, uh those are three quotes that I received. However, because of the expense we're talking about, uh being over uh $44,000, I don't know

that quotes are sufficient. >> We might have to put it out to bid. >> Okay. >> So, I sent an email to our architects today to get a feel for uh if it is something indeed we have to put out for uh for bid. uh and they haven't got back to me yet. But again, I'll share that information as I receive it. >> And you know, Tony, I just want a couple um Mr. Roa that the fact that unfortunately we do have a student right now who has two broken legs. So, um the teachers have been very kind and have moved their classrooms to accommodate, you know, getting the child up on the lift. So, everybody's working together and it's a huge hindrance to the custodians as well, you know, going up and down. So

this is, you know, some people are are h you know, calling me and say, "Well, why why does it take so long?" It's just it it's just the way that operates. It's it's outside of our control. >> Can you say that time frame? What was the 20 to 25 weeks? Is that until like 20 to 30 weeks before they can do it or that that's how long it's going to take? >> That till it would be installed. There's about there's each of them have a different time frame, but they're all pretty consistent within the neighborhood of 20 to 20 plus weeks for procurement and and they have it staggered by uh there's like four different levels and how many weeks they project uh each one to take. Um I I have to I don't know.

I've never purchased an elevator before, but I have to believe that based on the the procurement things these companies have shared that there's not a bunch of them like sitting in a in a warehouse or something. I I'm sensing they need to build it uh you know to to specs. Uh on motion 8.2, we're reapproving the board meeting dates. Um, if you remember at the reorg meeting, it was brought up that the October 21st meeting was Dorne school boards. Uh, so this has been moved to October uh 14th. So that's a that's why that's on there again. And excuse me, emotions 10.3 were uh raising the minimum wage has been raised uh throughout the state. So we needed to uh adjust that. 104 is approving the IDA grant again. Uh we approved it in September.

Uh but we had to file a final report on last year's IDA grant which had some carryover. Now that the state approved our final report, we need to reapply for the current IDA grant with the carryover in it. So, these are the new amounts uh of the IDA grant, and I'm sure within a month or so, we you'll see another motion accepting uh the IDA grant. Um once it once it is approved, and you'll see that same thing take place uh for the title one, two, and three, and four. Uh we've completed the final reports of last year and they all have various carryover amounts um that we have reapplied for and you're going to see the same sort of thing without uh excuse me with uh with the titles. Um and 10.5 is just

the recreation uh grant. If you remember, we had a we once already received a recreation grant uh la I believe it was in 2024. We put the playground uh prek playground, new pre-k playground, and now the grant's out again. So, we are applying for uh to put the turf down uh across the kindergarten uh playground that's out there. Uh it the the grant is a matching funds uh up to $75,000. Uh we are projecting um about $230,000 to to to do the uh turf. Uh so um if we do get the grant then we'll make a decision on uh taking the money out uh to m to do our share of >> and it's the rubber service, right, Mr. Rupola? >> Well, you had expressed we could change it because >> Oh, no. We did

go to turf. You're you I apologize. You're right. >> Um so um Miss Cunningham, it's 8.1 to 106 for me. >> I need a motion for 8.1 to 10.6. >> Motion. >> Second. >> Questions? Roll call. >> Miss Abrahamson. >> Yes. >> Miss Cunningham? >> Yes. >> Mr. Vopoulos? >> Yes. >> Miss Kowski? >> Yes. Miss Bubler, >> yes. >> Miss Cahane, >> yes. >> Mr. Stall, >> yes. >> Mr. Staley, >> yes. >> Mrs. Teas, >> yes. >> Miss Vanhound, >> yes. >> Okay, motions pass. >> Uh, curriculum, personnel, and policy, Dr. Seoya, >> within curriculum, I covered almost every resolution in my superintendent report. If we move to personnel, u the retirements we have to accept. Uh one of the hires that we have here is um for Joseph Maton and if everybody

remembers he's a KHS graduate and he was one of our student interns um who already does have his black seal. So we're very proud of what we're building in terms of transition at the high school level. Um and we're happy to have him aboard. both he and uh the other person on here is going they're going to be at the central school and that's that that's a busy building so we're very happy to have them. We have the extra periods in there for the leave replacement um for somebody being out as as I indicated prior in the superintendent update. Um there there's an FMLA in there. There's also some substitute teachers. Uh let's see anybody else conduct the field service observation hours. We're always um willing to help Brookdale, one of our partners, community partners.

And then all of the policy for the first reading. That does conclude that. >> I need a motion for 11.1 to 13.1. >> Motion. >> Second. Uh questions. Mr. Roll call. >> Miss Abrahamson. >> Yes. >> Miss Cunningham? >> Yes. >> Mr. Matopoulos? >> Yes. Mowski? >> Yes. Mr. Bubler, >> yes. >> Miss Kahane, >> yes. >> Mr. Stall, >> yes. >> Mr. Staley, >> yes. >> Mr. Teas, >> yes. >> Miss Vanhound, >> abstain from anything from elementary and central, everything. Yes. >> Okay. Motions pass. >> Thank you. Uh, old business, new business, Mr. Staley. >> Yes. I'm going to provide a a brief report on what's called the goal three committee. It used to be I refer to it as goal three but it's it's stamped as goal goal two. And our our

charge is uh to monitor and respond to internal and external developments that impact the current ongoing and future of the keyport school district. The scope of our work will be the the committee has no decision-making authority but will report back to the full board at open meetings and if appropriate during close sessions. Reports may include recommendations to the board. The members of the committee are Denny Ftopoulos, Jen Teas, Becky Cahane, Caitlyn Cumhanning, myself, Dr. Seavoya, and Mr. Roola. We had our first meeting today and we're um we kind of kind of set up a speed m a speed uh meeting 45 minutes from 5:30 and the purpose of our first meeting was just to identify some of the topics very broadly that we we will pursue and I'm just going to just go read those

um we had some discussion about them but I'm just going to read the topics um imple from Dr. Seavoya's uh point of view or uh implementing or anticipated uh changes in educational programs from Mr. Rapola um the 2627 budget plus looking forward in the out years on financial matters and Mr. Rapollo was not able to um there's more that's going to happen in the next couple months. So uh it's will he and and the committee um primarily Mr. Rapollo have more to tell us uh the full board on those issues. We are going to the topic of regionalization. We're going to do some study. You may refer you may know about the proposed legislation. It's called S4861. We're going to make sure that we read it, we understand it, um so that we can um

voice our opinions um to the powers of be on our ideas about it. We also have Mr. Ftopos's ideas on regionalization and other considerations that we're going to talk about. We're going to look back and review the the five-year enrollment history. Plus, we're going to look at projections, projections particularly about enrollment at the high school projecting out the next five years or so. We're going to look at uh when needed the litigation issues. We're going to look at school climate and we're going to look at district demographics and the impact on our district. And lastly, we're going to look at the superintendent's contract timeline. So, that's kind of uh our our first meeting and um we'll meeting our next meeting uh will be on Wednesday, March the 4th. Thank you. >> Thank you. Any other

new business? Uh public participation on agenda and non-aggenda items. Um uh so then we need a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second. >> Second. All in favor? >> I No.
