001Do our pledges. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I salute the flag of the state of New Mexico, the symbol of perfect friendship among united cultures. >> Only the prayer. There's nobody else here. All right, let's go. Let's do our prayer. Uh, dear heavenly father, thank you for this wonderful afternoon and Lord, just be with us as we make decisions today to to help our kids move forward and keep our teacher strong and healthy and everybody. And um, just put a a healing hand on our superintendent Curtis and just watch over him as he goes throughout his trials and in the next months and and probably even years, but just

002just be with him and Libby. And we we do appreciate you for watching over them, Lord. and just be with us tonight as we make decisions in Jesus name we pray. Amen. >> Amen. >> Um agenda amendment. We need to we need to amend the agenda. >> Okay. >> So we need to X the executive session out. >> So >> okay. >> He told me to do it at the first of the meeting. Did it at the first of the meeting. Um budget agenda minutes from July. >> Um we saw those earlier. I move to approve. I think it's supposed to be for August. >> It's for August, right? >> Yeah, >> it's August. >> Yeah, it's August. Did you have a special board meeting, too, >> in those the 27th? >> No. Okay, we'll

003have to do that next. Make sure you put that on the poll. So, this is for the August regular board meeting. >> Yeah. Minutes for the August regular board meeting. >> I move to approve. >> I second. >> Motion been made and seconded to approve the board minutes for August regular meeting. All those in favor? >> I. All those appro sign payroll and bills. >> Yeah, I do have some questions for Vicki. >> Can you hear Vicky? >> Let me turn the volume up so they can hear. >> Of course. >> I just have a question on um are we not paying anybody out of an aid or a teacher out of title one or idea B? >> That position hasn't been filled yet, Barb. We're working. We're trying to get We're trying to get

004We're trying to get Nancy in the LEAP program to go through her teacher certification. >> So, she just got admitted today. Both her and Michaela are in the LEAP program. So, now that we have her in there going through that, we can actually assign her into that position. Now, I had a chance to talk to because we're waiting for Nancy to get cleared um for the LEAP, but that's where we'll be able to get her certified as a teacher and be able to have her do the LEAP program as well. So, good. >> Okay. Are we is what are we saving the local revenue for? >> 152. There's $45,000 in there. >> Where does local revenue come from? >> Adalorum taxes. It's just taxes that we get. >> Okay. It's a new fund, but normally

005we have um our advalorum taxes are operational um SB9 and debt service >> and this is an this one was created a few years ago. >> Okay. >> So there's 45,000 >> there's 45,000 and it's unexpended. >> So I was just wondering why we haven't used it. >> Well, one of the thoughts was Barb um with the teacher housing being delayed so much, we don't know what the potential cost overruns was were. So depending what SB9 and our bond capacity is at that time with the project that we've gone on and that that was one of the suggestions Nick made for cost overruns. >> Just hold on to it for a little longer. >> Yeah. I mean it's not like it's going to be there forever because I met with during the up to speed

006PSA today. They're finally closing stuff with contractors because of the new rules after July 1. So hopefully by the end of next week we have conclusion on the demo project and we'll have a very good idea what the dollar funds would be and then the housing. Okay. >> So, we were just holding that to be safe in case we had to use it for the hospital runs or another major project that's here. >> Okay. >> All right. Um, and the FFA, they're not going this year to Indie. They're next year. >> That's on here. >> It was on here. >> Yeah. For out of state. >> Oh, I see the incumbrance. >> That many though, right? >> What's that? She's taking the uh the uh officers. >> Yeah. >> And SK. >> Yeah. >> Hi.

007Yeah. >> Oh, there she is. Hi, Amanda. >> Amanda was able to get on. >> Cool. >> All right. >> I couldn't remember exactly who you, but I knew it was Ski and I couldn't remember who else. So, yes. Don't wreck. Are you in the parking lot? Turn the camera off. >> Turn the camera off. Yeah. >> Okay. We're glad you're here. >> Do we have any idea when our auditor will be here? When Pam will be here? >> 22nd is when it'll start and they have it through October. >> September. >> Yeah. Okay. >> And we hired So, we hired one of you for just Ryson Associates. >> You work there? >> Yeah, I've worked with the USA contract because for some reason it's not being sent out from their system. So, I worked

008with them today. They'll have it resolved tomorrow and the contract will be in place by the office. >> Okay, cool. That's all I had. I was just wondering. >> Anybody else? Anything else? >> I think the only other thing that um I just wanted to point out is that the bank statements are fully reconciled. However, I have not rolled the fund balances yet for from last fiscal year. I had some pretty significant errors that I haven't been able to work through from the rollover and so I put in a help ticket with visions to title um the university to help me with um that process. >> Okay. >> You can also see from the bank statement that I've really been trying to get those other dispersements. >> Yes. >> But we have a few left

009on there um that are from 24 actually. Okay. >> So, um yeah, there and and I I need to make sure they I know exactly what they are. I just don't have a solution yet to verify that. I don't know that I need to make sure they've been paid and we can suspend them. That's what I'm suspecting happened is when they did the fiscal roll over, they rolled them, paid them with new money, but then didn't go back and suspend them in the old year to release everything. >> What is that the same thing with daily kinicks check? Cuz I noticed there's that one check from 24. >> That's different. And that is also something that Tyler's working on with me because Okay. It it actually indicates the check's never been printed. >> Printed, right?

010I said it was not printed. >> We can't we can't do anything. It's like it's like it's hung somewhere and there's nothing we can do to clear it. So, she has been um paid. I know we took care of that this last fiscal year, right? But we did that one check to clean up the system. >> Okay. All right. Thank you. That's all I had. >> Thank you, Vicki, for all your hard work and >> Yes, we appreciate all other things because we know it hasn't been easy. So, we do appreciate you. I appreciate Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate >> So, uh, I move to approve payroll and bills. >> Kind of have to. >> Yeah. Kind of. >> Motion made seconded to approve payroll and bills. All those in favor? >> I want

011to see the bars. >> I did. >> All right. That would pass. Thank you. >> Budget adjustment requests bars >> cuz I didn't have these in my >> Can you go over to Mars quickly? >> Sure. We have two. One is the budget fund. We receive two one and I included that in the email. One is you have to expense. I just couldn't put it there until we got these awards, which I think we got at the end of August. >> Yeah. >> So, we will move that expenditure. I believe it was the um $10,000 uh Mr. Clark, correct me if I'm wrong. There was $10,000 in um uh computer technology. >> Yeah. >> That uh we ended up using operations for while we were waiting for this award to go through. So, we'll be

012able to move it and then um liquidate that as well. >> It was the iPad for000 that is going to allow us to spend from July of this year through next year. So we have a little more time that >> it was the iPads for it's the iPads for kindergarten through 2 grade and >> and we also got three Macs for the VOAG marketing so they can use it for u multimedia production like that for egg business and like that. So that's where the that's where those dollars went to for those programs. >> Okay. So I'll be able to move those once we get this bar fully approved. >> Okay. >> So that's that one. And then the second one is just a transfer bar between functions in operations where we had you can see

013from the report that I shared that there were some negative lines um in function 2200 and 2500. There's also, and I want to just specifically point out, there's also a negative in function 3100, which is our food services. However, we're going to be moving that into our food services account once we get those contracts corrected and revised. So, >> right here, >> this grant. Yeah, I was just >> Okay, I move to approve the bars. >> I second. Motion been made and seconded to approve the bars. All those in favor? >> I. >> All those opposed? >> I I I >> same time passes. All right. >> All right. Thank you, Vicki. Go back and snuggle with the little one. >> Yeah. Oh, okay. She's got the best. Don't let her up. >> I'm trying

014to get you out of here. Good. I'm trying to get you out of here. All right. Principal's report. I mean, we got it. So, is there anything you need to add? >> Do um the only thing that we have So, we did have um a first grader at home today. Oh, wow. >> And a seventh grader yesterday. So, that puts our total at 98. >> Um >> but we only have six prek. I thought we had eight to start with. Did they >> um some of them didn't like the half day, 4 days? Um and so that's why two of them. >> And how is that going? >> Couldn't It's going really well. Um it's it seems to be um a lot more impactful on the kids. Um >> cuz they're here every day. And

015when I went in to do to do the walk through, like the students knew their routines, they knew the procedures, they knew what they were supposed to be doing, they knew what letter they were on. like everything just seemed to be a lot more consistent. >> Oh. Um >> I was just wondering why it changed, but if that's I mean it's not for me to say, but I just that's good. >> And it also for us to have um art and library four days a week. Yeah. >> Oh, good. >> But I can understand somebody not wanting to if they live far away or something to have to have to >> half a day come and get them. I can understand. So it it it does it's >> so So, the three homeschooled students, they

016are >> three homesooled students in in our program and they're doing really well. >> And they are >> um so Pike and Pike and Zoe and um >> Who? Am I? >> Yeah. Um Bryce. >> Oh, Bryce. That's right. >> Oh, Bryce. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Was he he was here last year, too? Had he been here, though? >> Or did he Bryce do something here? So, she came back under this year because he just is now a junior. >> Uh oh. You're getting the fair cut, aren't you? >> No, not yet. >> You sound kind of sound kind of Yeah. >> Okay. So, are we going to Maybe this isn't the time to ask for your um progress reports on Wednesday. They went out. >> Are we still going to do a a dinner

017or something or >> Yeah, we're going to talk about that a little later. We're trying to work on coordinating with some other activities that we're doing. Okay. You want to try one? You keep >> No, no, no. 12-year-old snacks over there and nerd. I'm just glad I'm just glad it's not mentos and di going through right now. I would not want to see that. >> Gurgling a good digestive is. >> All right. So, now Amanda. >> Yeah. Right. >> Yeah, man. Well, you want to go home? >> I am. I'm I'm tired. I got things to do at home. >> How's the steak fair going? How'd we do? Worked really hard today. >> The goat showing was champion novice show. Yeah, novice showman. Uh he was also novice showman in the sheep showmanship. >> Um

018we had uh the Rose Boys had a couple second places with some goats and um I'm sure the Gutteras had some up there, but I can't remember exactly. I know they had a class winner, maybe a division champ. um or reserve champ, something like that. But today, Courtney was uh supreme reserve champion New Mexico red heer. Um so not too bad for um our little baby town. Some good showing up and um some kids had a hard day, but that's okay. >> And then the rest of my report, I gave it to you in written form. Uh we're working on the beginning of year testing for everything. We did have a hangup. Um Amamira bought out I Stationation and when they transferred things over it caused a hangup, but we finally got that worked out.

019And so K through three is doing their Amira testing that is required by the state. We have ASVAB testing coming up next week for um our juniors and seniors. We'll have PSAT testing for our sophomores and juniors. No, sorry. Fall is just sophomores. Um later on this month or early October. We haven't set our date just yet. And then um we're kind of up and rolling and I just got back from district test coordinator training to turn around and come back up to state fair. Um so our test security we're and all of those things we are now compliant on. >> Cool. >> And the Amir transition was statewide. It wasn't just us. every district that had the transition, they they've sent out email after email trying to correct it and it's been going on

020for what about four weeks now? >> Yeah. The simple fix. We just ended up having to go in and reenter our IP address and it wouldn't let us delete the old one out and but it allowed us to enter the same number again and then everything started working. So, I don't know, but we got it working. So, >> and what about P school? Have we transitioned completely to the new whatever the heck it is? are piling it with this new synergy with the power school. So, we have the advantage of being able to do it for free on this state and make the transition easy. So, yeah, Hannah was there easier supposedly, but we'll let you know after Hannah comes back from this first synergy training today. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, today was the

021first one for our region that where it's us, Keroso, Capotan, and Roodoso that are piloting in this part of the state. >> Cool. All right. Any questions from my director? >> No, I think that's it. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you. And thank you. Keep up the good work up there. >> Yep. >> Yeah. I saw your husband this morning. He he was still alive anyway. So, he was buying breakfast. >> Hopefully got he got my youngest kid back to school. >> It was after school started. It was after school started. So, and he wasn't with him. And hopefully you remember to pick him up this afternoon. >> He did. >> You didn't want to take him home. >> I didn't mind. >> All right. >> Our long and lengthy superintendent report. I mean,

022that's that's library not there. >> Yeah. So, >> well, just to fill you in on the first one, engineers were on site today and they were able to fix the card reader issue I had. There was a software issue inside the product that was installed by our first installer that was causing problems with card conflicts. So, uh, some of the admin and teachers have been guinea pigs today. They've been working great. So, tomorrow we're going to give them more, but all the cards are ready to be handed out to them. So, the door access is ready to go for everything now. So, they als they also did the walkthrough on that. It was just it was a simple software glitch because they might have had a wrong reader code inside of it, a different one

023they had than what was actually installed. So they were able to catch that today with they had two engineers on site plus three texts and the saleserson for our region were there. Um so we had that. Um the other the only other two major updates on there is one PSFA got an update from RNY today. They're hoping to wrap up. They've been working with the contractors to come in compliance with the new rule since July 1. Um so he's working with the last contractor. Hopefully have it resolved by Friday or Monday at the latest and then that way they can make the determination or release the money hopefully next week or the following week. Um they've told the contractors to be on site as quick as possible after it does because they want to try

024to get the teacher units of this contracted before prices go up on those two. Uh the lounge and floors down in the elementary scoreboards got backordered. Then the only other thing is >> Are you going to have to replace the scoreboard? >> Yeah, there's no Yeah, there's no parts. It's gone. So, we're going with two scoreboards on each end or a scoreboard on each end. >> Okay. >> Um and it's actually actually is cheaper doing that than it would have been doing the $50,000 one to replace the monster we had in there right now. So, and the parts got backwards, so now they're scheduled for installation November 13th for that. And I think the players will like that because you know they they're looking >> cuz that's what our ours used to it used to

025be on just one end. >> So we did >> back in the back when somebody was standing there moving their fingers like that, you know. >> And then the only other thing is is I've given you a breakdown of what we've done bond and SB9 for this year. It's committed and not committed. I had a chance to get with Vicki to talk about what was spent out of our bond money last year. We're going to need to look at some priorities of what we're going to do with the amount of money of some of these projects and plus with not knowing any cost overruns on teacher housing. So, we may want to look at that next month at the board meeting to figure out what the priorities are to do that so we don't overfund

026it. And Barb brought up a good point of the adorum. Um, we were keeping as a cash reserve in case the teacher housing went over by a recommendation. >> So, that could be a way to us to address some of these projects going on in SP9 and those types of things. So, um, I'm going to me and Vicki are going to sit down and actually run the reports on the bond, the SB9s we spent and look at the last couple years and see what's left in those bonds before we go for the new bond levy. >> So, what is where is the fencing? >> The fencing right now is well, I can tell you the ricotta engineers came in with another recommendation proposal today. So, they're working with one of their vendors. >> No, not

027entire stuff. But yeah, >> but this is another vendor that they work with was Campare out of El Paso and they do more security. So there's other more cost effective, high-tech ways they can geoence in the property, but also they have different types of gates. So they're going to come up with a proposal and they're going to try to get to me in a week or so. But um the fencing contractor is we can go forward. But I finally got the scope of what the exterior electrical work will be today. So I can get back with Tri West and let them be able to run the conduit electric for the outside cameras that they're kind of looking at. So we I can get with them. Tri West is actually a contractor. They can do multiple

028things. So I got to get with them now and tell them here's the diagram. what what's going to add to run the electric to the gates plus the exterior cameras because they're both connected >> right >> in the system. So I gave a try west. So hopefully we can have this by conclusion. Verata's idea is to get me in the next two weeks so that way we can act on in October. >> Okay. >> Thank you sir. >> Okay. >> That was pretty good reading right there. >> Okay. Any public comment >> on What about the doors? Are they done yet? >> They're product. So, we should have money in a month. They're scheduled to come. They're scheduled. >> Yeah, those are just six sets of doors we have to replace. >> Um, it was

02945 days that was taken to produce. So, they're supposed to I got they called me last week saying you're hoping they're going to be here by September 30th and then they're going to try to install them the first week of October, second week. But I got to get with our testing coordinator >> to make sure we're not interfering with testing times because we have a lot of noise this week. Yeah, like I said, you have Fridays off. Can they not do >> Yeah, they're probably coming on a Thursday afternoon to do a Friday. Friday is what they're looking at. >> Yeah. Uhhuh. >> Casey, she doesn't ever have any questions. I was wondering if Leanne, do you have anything or >> All right, we're going to move on then. Action items. Consideration and approval of

030out of state travel for FFA to Indianapolis, Indiana for national convention. I say we give them half the money so they can only make it halfway, you know. No, >> we need a motion, please. >> I move to approve the out ofstate travel. >> Very good. >> By FFA to Indianapolis for national convention. >> We've got a motion made and seconded to let our FFA go to Indianapolis on out of state travel money. All those in favor? I I >> All those opposed, same sign passes. Leave on October 24th. Huh? That's the end. >> Our plan this time um because most of these kids have done Tony's Oklahoma City trip. >> Oh, right. Drive is to drive to Tulsa and then um to go to Springfield because there's a couple that still haven't seen that

031Bass Pro Shop and all the museums that are within it and then to go to Branson for a couple days. That's good. >> Oh, that's fun. >> Yep. Um and then potentially uh because it's only like um it's kind of a 4hour radius around there to Indie um to jut over maybe to Louisville to take him to the Louisville Slugger Museum. >> Oh, okay. Cool. >> The bath factory and then go up to Indie. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Good. >> Cool. >> Yeah. You'll enjoy you'll enjoy Branson. It's >> there's plenty to do. >> Recommendation, Mr. Johnson. >> There's plenty to do. >> Plenty to do. Yeah. All right. Discussion and approval for the superintendent to pursue application for standardbased projects for a combination prek12 school with PSFA for the 2526 school year cycle

032for the total amount of $52,100 $100,000 65,000 square ft at an average cost of 8. That $800 a square foot is not bad. >> It's not right now. >> Um >> this a house is like we're right at 22 250 a square foot. I mean that's >> I thought it was going to be >> I thought it was going to be recommend Well, here's what's happening. >> Yeah. >> Um Nick um ran the numbers last week for this before we ran the board agenda and that's what the projects are coming out around right now. um it may even go down even cheaper than that. But he wants to make sure that we put our application in that they understand that we're going for the high dollar amount and then we negotiate the value because right

033now projects are running between $675 and $850. So instead of doing the 700, he wanted to put the 800 because he feels confident that'll cover what the process is. And then that way it'll be straightforward because the bond's going to drain into money. Then we go put the application in. you'll have the final financials on the 21st. So, our goal is to submit the application on the 25th to PSFA to get in cycle and then have them put us for presentation pending approval hopefully by the end of the year, but maybe they will let us until they wait till we get the bond passed in November. We may have to go back in June. We might have to go back twice, but he just wanted to make sure that this is the highest dollar value

034he's anticipating for the value. So that way when you look at it, when you look at what our bonds generating with not much increase in local taxes, it could be absorbed in that. And we're and we still would be able be able to apply for all the waiverss, which we also have to do at this point in time. Let them know we're going for those waivers. So Nick was to make sure we have the best financial numbers. Once he gets the reports and gets them to me on the 21st, I'll finish the application with him and then we will submit it to the SFA. >> Okay. And >> is there any questions? No, >> this just gets the ball rolling. >> Yeah, get the ball rolling. And then once we get it going, when hopefully

035pass the bond in November, um we can get it rolling and then in January we get the get the approval and then we can start the design phase for the first uh year once they do it because we can we'll be able to front the design phase out out of the bond and then they can make us whole at the end. That's what they've done with several districts. comment. >> I I move to approve uh standardsbased project for a combined prek12 school with PSFA for the SY 2526 cycle. >> A second. >> Motion been made and seconded to approve the superintendent to pursue the application for standard base project for the school with PSFA for 2526. All those in favor? I >> I all those opposed. >> Same sign. All right. It's still at $800.

036That's not That's if it comes in at 650 g a little bit more. >> I mean, that's a that's a big money, but I mean it still >> I think so. >> Okay. Approval of and approval of amended bus contracts for >> year 2526 for Celia and Davidson. >> There was just a couple miss typos in your deal for the Can you go into that a little bit? >> I'm sorry. What were the further questions? >> I see a correct >> just you had to change a few things. >> Change a few things. And what were the changes? Yes, I I did. >> The dates were >> first of all um dates were fine. It was the wording was confusing. >> So, um after we I met with contractors um a couple of weeks ago

037and we kind of went through everything line by line. Um I did change the way the language was and how things were paid and when the final payment would show up. Um, I sent these to the both bus contractors ahead of time, uh, before I even brought them, um, or submitted them to Curtis, um, because I wanted to make sure that they didn't have questions or concerns. But when I went backwards and looked at the mileage rates and what had been paid in past contracts, it's been a while since we've done any kind of an increase. And I also went back and I looked at the expenses >> and with our allocation and um this is a little over 9% increase. So it wasn't the straight 4% but we haven't increased mileage rates in a

038while and and that is a local decision. I worked with the peed transportation department. Um they said you just have to stay within your allocation. Yeah, I was going to say that's what we >> I felt that um when I when I went met with M Mr. Club, I said I really think we can based on our prior expenses and based on um uh the the fact that we haven't increased mileage rates in a while. I think we can do this and still stay within our allocation. >> Yeah. As long as allocation money there, they might as well be. I mean, don't go overboard, but uh is it >> how many years has it been since we've up the mileage? >> Probably when I was there. >> So, >> nine years probably 10 years. >>

0393% each% each year. >> Well, let me ask you this, Vicki. Is it still at the end of the year if you don't expend it all, you have to send 50% back? So, you know what? Let's give it to the bus drivers. I don't want to send I' never sent anything back. I bought filing cabinets and as long as there was one transportation folder in there, it was good to go. >> Right. >> So, >> right. >> Well, in the filing category, that could be changing this year because there's a recommendation from LFC from Charles that transportation money is not expended, they can take 100% back. >> Okay. Well, no, let's spend it. >> Trust me. But but I can tell you right now there's going to get some resistance from the LFC commission because

040rural is drastically underfunded. >> Yeah. >> And they understand year to year our vage rates can change. So it's going to be an interesting fight in this budget cycle. What happens funding? >> Did we we got the we got the money too? Is that what you got? Our allocation I should say. >> Oh yeah, we got it. >> One thing that I changed in the contract the contractors pointed out is that we had added another day this this school year. Yeah, we did not 153 instead of 1523 in the past. >> Okay. >> And I heard that you fixed the cooks deal, too. So, that's great. Thank you. Cuz I had a phone call >> that as well. I haven't completely They haven't paid out yet. >> Well, it'll be in October, >> right? As

041long as >> No. And that's fine. As long as they know it's coming, it's fine. >> I met with them today and told them what's going on. So, >> yeah. Thank you. >> Okay, we need a motion to approve. >> Okay, I move to approve the amended bus contracts for SY 2526 Celely/Davidson. >> I second. >> Motion been made and seconded to approve the bus contracts for this year for Cel and Davidson. All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign. All right. Thank you, Vicki. >> Thank you. >> All right. Discussions items. Just a couple updates. We do have a couple recommendations for strategic planning, but we need to get some more names cuz right now we only got staff plus about three or four other community members. So, if

042there's people the board really want to have be involved some of those names because I need to get a list of names to our facilitator trying to organize some groups by the 24th and he like to have it by next Wednesday. So, we're going to start outreach tomorrow and over the weekend and early Monday to make sure we get commitments. So if you guys have particular names just respond an email I sent you with what group and then because there's two ways they can do it. They can break it down each individual groups >> or they can do some subgroups of combined with those parties together. So they just want to have some time to be able to prep and be ready to be here on the 24th. >> So do we have we don't

043have any old educators in our community do we? >> We used to have Janine. Yeah, some others, but we don't have >> I was trying to think of >> and they don't necessarily have to be just our community. They're people we do business with outside you think that bring value like some of the ranch companies are like that. We can bring them in as part of this process. >> You just said old educators. >> What's that? Ronnie Dunworth. >> Oh, >> Ronnie Dunworth. >> Yeah, Rodney. He's on one of the contact list. >> Okay. >> Well, and Angie, too. I mean, >> and Angie as well. Yeah. >> Yeah. Uh, you know, she's been a she's an educator. Uh, but I mean it does it's not just educators. We >> No, it could be anybody

044in the community, parent, business interest. >> Has anybody talked to Penny Riley? >> Yeah. >> Did you? >> She's on the list. >> Okay. >> Um, I don't know who else. >> Well, we're going to try to get somebody from the electric cooperative. >> Oh, okay. Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, that's one of the companies that was named. You didn't ask You didn't ask Alina for a recommendation, did you? Or >> Gilbert? No. >> Oh, yeah. Well, you couldn't ask me for recommendations. >> But there's some people like there's people on there like companies that are listed like Blatner Sunzia get their reps. I'm sure if I call I call Jeremy or Sarah, they'll get people for us for that. So, so but I wonder how I guess business-wise, but as far as >> I

045don't know. I guess it'd be I don't know what I I don't even know what goes in. I don't even know what they're going to be asking. >> So So >> yeah, >> they just wanted cross representation of the population. I guess I'm on your list. All the board >> the the annual meeting in Hondo. >> Oh yeah. Did you get that? >> I can get you. How many people want to go? >> It's my October 7th. >> It's a Tuesday. Yeah. It's Tuesday before our board meeting next month. We're we're shipping calves Tuesday. No, I >> on October cuz I just got the I just got the email from today. >> The new superintendent is sending out the day. >> Well, we're going to get docked cuz I don't see anything to go to.

046>> Oh, no. >> I was going to go, but >> I'm I'm going I I would like to go. >> We are shipping cabs that day in practice this year. >> You just have to get off a little early. Don't you have all your your >> Yeah, he has all I have my hours. >> Yeah. See, that's what I was saying. You have all your hours >> cuz they changed the calendar year, not school year. >> We're shipping cabs that day. >> Mhm. >> Yep. >> I'm sorry. I can't. >> So, Kelly, it looks like she and me. >> Something else. >> I don't know. They want to go to last year in December. It was in Albuquerque >> cuz we just got to get a notice and we should be >> I just have

047to do it from >> and then that'll be >> July to June. I got >> but the the the deals are in December in Albuquerque. December >> and December is the uh MSBA conference and then in June next year will be the law conference >> and then Santa Fe I have a feeling the policy conference is going to be the middle of January since it's a 30-day session instead of first week of February. >> I can go and look at I'll figure it out. >> But yeah, put me down to we need to get a hold of the Lena Heather one. >> We should have her. You have the leadership institute too in the summer this July that you can go to >> part of the cloud golf this year. >> Cloud drop this year

048and it usually goes to house and it rotates towards um >> last I mean it goes between those two a lot but there's also talk of it going up to uh common and then that area up into springs area. >> Okay. Okay. >> So back to the strategic planning. >> So I'll get names and then if you guys have anybody just make sure I get them by Friday so I can send them the invite and get them committed. that I get the names to the areas that they're in. >> We need all these people to put their input into what >> for this part of it and also the strategic vision of the district and the board >> where we want to go what they want to see. >> Okay. >> So, >> I just

049want to make sure I have it right in my head. >> Yeah. >> And so then does that roll into the possible dinner or is the possible dinner >> Well, there's two ways we can do this because we can't do all the parents and everything else we do it. But Ryan and I had some conversations. We do have literacy and math nights that come up in early October. That would be a good way for us to do another followup on the strategic plan as well with those parents as they come up is kind of our method of madness. We have that core group then have our people that are there. We can do the dinner to get more people on campus and kind of do like we did with the open house. Have a business

050meeting with the parents and then do the activity have dinner and then have them go out and do the activity with their kids whether it's math or writing night. We just got to get with Jennifer Johnson and RECC9 to coordinate with them. So we're looking in the first part of October is right before parent teacher conferences or right after parent teacher conferences in those dates is when because last year I believe we did it >> two weeks before fall festival >> and that's October 30th this year. So we did it middle of October last year. So I think that would be a target date for us >> cuz you did did another one in the spring. >> Yeah, we did we did one math night, one reading night. Reading was in the spring. >> Yeah.

051And reading was in the spring. We did math in the fall. Reading in the spring. >> That sounds good. >> Do it. I mean, that's the way we're >> if you can beat them. >> Kill several birds with one stone so that everybody comes. We get quite a bit handled. I mean, because of our >> Yeah, that sounds good to me. >> Yeah. >> Anyway, so >> and we still have Blatner money left over from last year for staff and community engagement. So, we can take it out of the Blatner money that was donated. I haven't talked to Sarah this year yet about when that donation is going to come to us again. Um, but we still have leftover money from the summer and everything else that we didn't use last year that was carried

052over so we can use that so it doesn't come from me. >> You turn your camera off. >> Okay. So, there's that. So, we'll look at that. Randy and I will try to narrow it down with the REC people and make sure we have it on at night prior to fall. >> Cool. >> What else? I got some questions. >> Okay. >> Question away. on Celely school bus route. He goes from here to the gas plant in back. >> Yeah. >> He doesn't have all those dirt miles. >> Well, he will now because we had a student >> where Oh, where are they at? >> Out by Redcloud. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. We >> are in the forest. >> You say out by living in a tent. >> Yeah. Well, we're not sure if they're

053living in the tent, but they came in and rolled and claimed an address. So, it's in our district. So, >> Okay. >> You don't know. So, and the seventh grader, >> um, yeah, it wouldn't >> both. They're not >> they're not related, >> but they're not related. >> Okay. >> Well, and the thing is we always change the contract if it was 20 >> miles under what was, >> you know, thought either direction. If they didn't drive 20 miles >> under, you know, they were 20 miles under >> what they had the year before or 20 m over, we increased the contract. >> Yeah. But yeah, I was just wondering because all this since school started, all he's had to do is go to the gas plant back. He hasn't had to go to claw.

054So, >> no, he'll be they'll be heading out that way now. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Well, he better drive an extra 5 miles to make me happy. >> Okay. Second, uh Oh, the outside the grounds look good. And Damian, I saw him out there yesterday. He was out there. That looks good. The other thing is as Gino said that we need to put the recordings and our minutes on our website. >> We're working on that right now with Apple. So we're getting on that. So there was an issue with Apple transition when they upgraded the page. We're going to create a separate board page and we're going to have trained on doing all that. So how's this going? >> Good. So uh we just got those in and so I introduced them today. >>

055Oh, so you hadn't had them. Is that a phone thing? >> Yeah, that's a phone thing. Yes. So, what have you been using before? You just been kind of >> No, I just have like this little locker and they so that students put them in themselves. They check them in and then they I go and unlock it and then they come in, they check them out and everybody's never touching them. um we didn't have very many um when I started that. But with this, I told the students um if they keep their phone in their vehicle, that's fine as long as it stays in their vehicle and it's locked and they can't go to their vehicle. But if it's anywhere in this building, it has to be in one of those cases. It can't be

056in uh a teacher's classroom. It can't be in an office. It can't be in your locker. >> Is that what they're trying? Is that what they're trying >> It has to be in here. and put them in a sock >> because I get like oh >> so we're carrying two >> in the office or it's in >> oh so they put one in here and have it >> or they put one in their locker and they try to hide them somewhere. So we I called a couple of them and told them I said both of them long ago >> sneaky discipline problem this year. >> It's not really that honestly our kids our kids have been great >> like even even when we told them the first week of the year with what was going

057on they understood that they had to abide by it and it's like >> when Alina and I were busy >> so has it made a difference >> without them having fun? Yes. like the students. I don't see like students out and about near as much. I don't feel like there as many bathroom breaks. Um even like completing my walkthroughs and stuff like that, especially in the high school, like student discussions seems to be a lot >> more engaged. >> Yeah. Um a lot higher level questions, things like that because they can't just go and Google something on their phone and write down the answer. Um I think it's math has been very hard for them because they can't do that. And that is reflective in some of their grades. >> But I think that it's

058I think that it's very good for them to >> PTSD or withdrawal. It could be either one. >> Amanda, are you >> a great idea? I I thought it was long overdue to be honest. >> You know, most of my walkthroughs don't happen in the high school. They've just been three through five space. And there's not very many of them that have phones anyways. Uh but I feel like our students at least being in the ad class are you know engaged in discussion. They're willing to talk through a lot more things. Um I don't feel like there's as much tension that you know there would be certain students that were very tense with each other in the past. >> I think some of that is even dissipated a little bit. I mean, I think they're

059still right. You're going to fight with the ones that you're going to fight with, but um I don't feel like that tension is >> now heavy. >> Now they have to write notes instead of text and I had this conversation last week. Well, we noticed too. >> The other big thing that's happened is all the activity out there isn't being brought in here. and to see the behavior in the hallways with that because you would see our kids texting back and forth and looking at stuff and bringing it up. >> Um, we've noticed that drop and they're actually having conversations in the hallway with each other and talking and you're seeing different groups intermingle. I mean, this every year is a different year with kids, >> but it seems like all these kids are interacting.

060>> Well, you did lose that. >> We lost 12 seniors. Yeah, but you won't lose anybody next year. Yeah. But Amanda, you have a little different perspective because you're in the classroom. >> Yeah. >> With your teaching. So that's that's a good Okay. Anything else? That was my three. >> Okay. >> Didn't Casey tell me that some article about wrote about some lady that was going to get some money because you found their records here. >> Oh, Alahab. Is that what that was? I heard something. They had that downwinder deal. >> Is that all the records you were looking through? >> There's a bunch of people that are reaching out to me for this. Wow. >> To get to show that they they were working on my mom real hard because I mean she was

061actually closer. >> She was within she was within 30 mi of it when when it went off >> where they cuz they that's where my grandparents ranch was on that. Yeah. So >> good job Nicole. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, she she actually praised you on Facebook the other day. Not not you Corona School. So she didn't actually she didn't actually uh >> uh Actually, that those records weren't faded were a miracle >> cuz they've been sitting down in that in that thing. >> But now, are they easier to since we had those records coming the next phase? >> So, all I was able to find were these um attendance books. >> Attendance books is all we had. >> Oh, right. >> Attendance books. >> That's all I was able to find about those. >>

062That's what you need. I mean, I think that's enough, right? >> Yeah. >> For them. >> Oh, yeah. For them. >> Yeah. We will see >> for affinity by the current superintendent stating that these are our records stating that she was enrolled at those times is has worked really good. >> Well, good. Good for you. I'm glad you're doing anything else. That's awesome. This is a small rule. >> Be safe coming home. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Sell Friday and hopefully >> where we put that money. >> All right. >> Um >> we use different different things. Yeah. lady. >> Oh, you're breaking up. >> You broke up. >> It's at our discretion. >> She froze. She froze, >> but it's usually training. >> Yep. >> I move to adjourn. >> A second. Sorry, Cody. Most

063>> remain seconded to ajourn. All those in favor? I >> I >> Okay, say that again one more time, Amanda. Yes. Your boys are going to Uh so the kids are carrying the giant flag into the rodeo arena tomorrow in their official dress. So >> Oh, that's awesome. >> Yeah, >> good job. >> Thanks, man. Get home safe. >> Yep. >> I saw Triple. >> Yeah, he's >> as officer.
