001We can't hear you if you're talking. >> Sorry about that. The regular board meeting of the of the Hemis Mountain School Board of Education will now come to order. The time is 602. Sandy, could you take role, please? >> Mr. Randy Cordova, >> present. >> Miss Antinet Serrano Martinez, >> present. >> Miss Sandra Emler Hawkins, present. Mr. Robert V. Hill. >> Miss Lucy Morphine, >> present. >> Thank you. >> If you want to let them know full name. Yeah. Uh, we should be joining them. >> And Mr. Bale said he would try to join us where everybody's at work. building that um the library parent. It's just a library parent with the full name and uh your for the library parent. We need your full name uh visible on your uh on the zoom please.
002Okay, moving on. Pledge of allegiance. Sandy, could you lead us? >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic of which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Justice for all. >> Thank you. Couldn't blame the flag. >> Okay, moving on. Approval of the agenda. Any changes? >> Uh, yes, Mr. President. I know that Miss Mononttoya has an obligation, so we're going to try to move her up. Um, if we could do that, uh, possibly after public comment, I'd like to have her presentation after public comment. And because, uh, we're missing one board member and the others are online except yourself, uh, recommend that we, uh, table executive session. >> Okay. Do you have a Do you have a motion?
003>> I have a >> sorry a motion to move Miss Montoya's presentation to after >> pres open or is it public comment and then to uh table executive session? >> I second by Lucy. >> Yes. >> Thank you. We still have an unidentified person online. I think Shan told you want to tell them again or cut them off due to your policy. >> Okay. So, and the the board's policy is that anybody online has to be able to be identified or else we will not allow you to be on. So the person identified as library parent on the screen, we would ask that you put your name on there, please. If they don't do it within a minute or so, I would lock it. Okay, moving on to approval and signature of minutes for a
004regular board meeting August 12th, 2025. >> Bird. Yes. >> Plan for a special board meeting August 18th. We have a motion. >> I motion. I second. >> Motion by Miss Lucy, second by Miss Sandy. All in favor? >> I I >> I. >> Motion carries. >> Moving on to public comment. Is there any? Then anybody? Okay. Being that we have no public comment, we'll move in on to uh Miss Aino. >> So, you have my report in your packet and I've also brought extra copies for anybody that might want it. Um, I went ahead and reentered the sports that are offered at Liebrook. >> Okay. So, I went ahead and um offered the sorry, we repeated the sports that are offered here at Library and just let everyone know that the coaches have been hired
005and students are still getting their physicals. And then I repeated the goals for Library Elementary Middle School and that's going to just kind of be a and a monthly thing so that way you guys can have that every single time and we can keep checking our goals um every month. I also shortened the dates and I updated a few of them. Um like the red ribbon week theme, um the update on the pumpkins for the fall and some of the um the other events that we have, so like volleyball and things like that. Um we don't know when our Thanksgiving meal is going to be, so I'll put that on as soon as I know that. on page two. Um, our NN dash plan was completed and approved today. So, uh, the first line that
006says it hadn't been approved yet, it's now been approved. So, highlights from the plan. Um, I included some NMB vistas, uh, information. So, as of on this year, it was 2324 for the school year and the enrollment was 73 that year. Um, as of today, our enrollment is 66. So we're we're glad that we have increased enrollment here. Um so just from Anabistas's math proficiency, reading proficiency is low. Um I did include the fact that we're about science. We're also low 20% proficient, but that's actually the highest percentage. Um as well as reading. This is for grades 5, 8, and 11 for science. And then of course the dynamic learning maps are for special education students. And then I inc I included the interim measures of student success and achievement for NMI MASA. That's the
007um the what the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and end of the year. And so um I put all of the end of the year. That's what EOI means. Um as far as each grade and what percentage were on target. So that's the goal is to finish that to be so in the NM dash plan I broke that we were going to put a higher percentage and I made it um a comparison moving a one student up per level so that way the 0% will be um one student and then the ones that have a percent will be one more student. So that's our goal for this year is to move up these students in math reading awareness and language usage achievement. Um the overall performance challenge was that 95 of our
008students were not proficient um this school year, this 23 24 school year. And our chronic attendance rate is 37.5%. And that's from our monthly attendance that was kept by our secretary last school year. She gave me all of the records and I looked up the equation and calculated out our 37.5%. Um our desired outcome is that all staff will follow leadership's expectations but in turn I also wrote in there that leadership will provide clear expectations for school operations and systems and then teachers will also provide grade level and M MLSS layer one instruction and interventions because when we looked at ourselves we found out that last year support was not given to teachers to be able to do that and that's part of the reason we had low proficiency scores. So, um, and then the
009critical actions, I'll let you read, but page three, um, the I went back to the list of community suggestions that I wrote down from the chapter house meeting that I was able to attend. And so, we were talking about perfect or near-perfect attendance initiatives, incentives, sorry. And those are going to be monthly. So, if you came out through our lobby here, that was the um the machine, the book vending machine. So each student that has perfect or near attendance will get a a wooden coin to put in the machine to be able to buy a book. So that'll be for every month along with a small incentive um to go with that and a certificate that they have perfect asend the attendance per month and then we're going to do one for the semester and
010then the full year. Um the student of the month that was the suggestion also from the chapter house meeting. So we'll be doing that and then a customer service day for families. We're going to um push that toward the open house that we're going to be offering, that'll be a customer service day for anybody who needs help for that. Um the weekly phone calls to parents. Um a lot of our teachers already do that. Um the bus report, the bus routes report. So August 4th was the new bus and I just um repeated everything that I did from last month just to remind everybody. Um, so that bus was still in repair at the time I wrote this report, but it's it's repaired now and it's now returned back to um to the school here,
011but we still only have one route because we need to have the second driver cleared. So, um just a reminder, the single route was 3 hours and 10 minutes long for the students. And so, um they would arrive to to uh the frontier of the school between 8:40 and 8:50. And so we had to figure out a way to accommodate for that and to be able to have only core instruction at the time after they got here. So I put library art um in in the front first hour of our school. And so when we do get two routes then they'll get library and art. So, um, due to the long rides, um, I also made it mandatory that as soon as they enter the doors, we give them 10 minutes for breakfast and 10
012minutes for recess because they've been on that shaky bus for 3 hours. And um, regardless of the time that the school arrives, they they have that and they head to class. So after an hour late fix for time of special education services um it does violate the BME rules for giving each student in the school one hour of bilingual education. So our seventh eighth grade class doesn't get have a whole class. Um and then there's the enrollment as of September 2nd but um yesterday we had one more prek kiddo um enrolled. So then that puts us at 66 students and that's up from 51 students from last month's report August 12th. >> And that is May 30. >> Thank you. Any questions for Ma? >> I am none. No questions. >> None for me. >>
013Thank you. Okay. before you leave, thank you for having us here. >> Yeah, thank you. And um so people who are here virtually, uh we are having great food and we're gonna have a really good video from the teacher that presents to us. She's not allowed to put it on the internet, so you will be the only one to see it. So next time be >> Thank you. Moving on to presentation. Yeah. I don't believe we have any additional presentations. We'll cover the other information in the following. >> Okay. So, moving on to board information discussion, the business office report. Mr. Dice, >> good evening. Good evening, board president. Um I'm just reporting this month that um we've been busy trying to um get the f the new year going. Um we're still working on
014um importing um some budget information and as soon as we get more solid um audit um numbers, we will uh then import um our cash uh into the budget. So right now as you look at the budget report you'll see uh some adjustments that need to be made still um according to um the the bar situation approving budget adjustments and such as we go along this next month or so. Um we continue to have monthly grant meetings with our administrators. Um that's been I think very beneficial. we're all kind of on the same page now when it comes to um what's expected from the grants, what the funding is, and um coordinating the um action plans for the grants. So, we'll continue with those. Um we're still gathering information for the um FY 2425 audit.
015Um our auditor will be in the district on um October or September 16th, which is next week. So, um they'll be there finalizing information and gathering and and um inspecting and then they'll be ready to actually u finalize the audit in October. And it's um then um we have scheduled I think we talked about this the last meeting, but we've scheduled some power school and NOVA training um to start taking place on September 19th. Um, so we're going to be looking at um the efficiency of our power school data entry, making sure that um it transfers over to the NOVA system, which is our state reporting platform, which um contains all the data for the school district um that we have to use during um different reporting dates. So, we want to make sure that
016that information is correct. So, um Sean and Beta asked, um for some update and some refresher on those. Um we got two experienced um people that have been in do working with the two softwares from Farmington that have agreed to come over and um train. So, u we'll start that on the the 19th. Other than that, we're just business as usual, trying to get off the ground. Um, get the new year rolling well. >> Thank you. >> Moving on to principal reports, Mr. Hawus. So, Mr. Hawkins is still attending the conference in Albuquerque and I see he's online. I don't know if he has anything to add or not uh tonight. >> Can you guys hear me? >> Yes. Uh good evening uh everyone. Uh um so the report that I got um it's a
017little short but uh I'll get to it. Uh so staffing uh we uh moved one EA from Lightbrook to cover uh the needs at U Gina campus and that's uh so we she's working with our students who are having to uh do speech. We started the speech for our kids with uh that um with our IEPs. Our enrollment has stayed pretty much the same at 124. We did get a new student enrolled today, so that would put us up to 125. Uh as far as the building, the custodians are continuing to clean outside the the campus. Uh they've done a lot of of cleaning, but there's still a lot to do. They've done some minor repairs um to the to the building and uh you can see that Northern New Mexico College they did start
018their classes at uh at the high school with our kids. Uh they're taking the welding classes are in the in the welding shop. So that's good. Um this month uh the we did conduct uh our lockdown drill at the Gina campus. out of the lockdown drill. There was a few issues that we um came up with or what we saw and some of the things that we saw was some of the doors don't lock correctly. We found uh doors that were unlocked. They were uh propped open. So, there was a few issues that we addressed at our our staff meeting uh uh when we debriefed about the lockdown drill. We also held an evacuation drill where we loaded up all our students on the buses and we transported them out of out of the campus
019and then brought them back in. Um, again, there was a few things that we uh will have to improve on, but you know, uh, I give the the kids and the staff a lot of credit that we were able to uh to uh get leave the building, load up on the buses uh with um right around seven minutes. So, that was pretty uh pretty good. But there's a few things that we uh that we're going to be changing for our next uh our next uh drill that we do. We'll be uh uh scheduling um a shelter in place schedule in the next uh week or two. Um and you can see that uh we are here in Albuquerque, me, myself, and uh three teachers. Uh we're at um Building Science Leaders Network Professional Learning. Uh
020this is the first one and we're in cohort number two of this uh program that the state is um uh rolling out. Uh in September the testing we did uh uh start imasa we think that they're probably about done now. We did complete our our our ice station uh testing. Um athletics our first volleyball game was August 28th. first C cross country meet was August 30th and um there is an athletics report from Mr. Moffet attached to the to the packet. Um the volleyball girls they did pretty well uh and the cross country the kids they all performed pretty well at the meet. our Gina uh elementary uh 90-day plan was approved for the 2526 school year. Um as well with the elementary CSI grant was approved as well. Um, we'll now be able to
021start uh put submitting uh POS so we can start purchasing the things that we'd have on our on our um grant to uh provide that support for our staff to uh see we can uh get Gina out of uh priority school status. our newsletter. We're hoping to have got it out before today's school board, but we're waiting to uh till Thursday so that we can add our uh students of the month. We did have students of the month. Um we just uh we'll be having them on the newsletter. So, we'll send out the newsletter to everyone on uh on Thursday. So, you'll be receiving those. Uh that's all I got for now. Uh I stand for any questions. Is there any question? >> Mr. Hawkins. >> Yes, >> I have a question. Um, will you
022be scheduling another lockdown drill? >> Yes, we will. We'll be uh we'll be scheduling another lockdown. We'll do like um like u where the teachers will barricade themselves in the classrooms. That'll be the next step of the of the lockdown drill. And again, we'll do we'll we're scheduling uh if we wouldn't have had to come to this uh training, we I wanted to have a a shelter in place uh drill this week. >> Okay. >> But yes, to answer your question, yes, we will >> just so that the you we can ensure that the doors will lock correctly and and we won't fall through that. And some of the doors that I found that were not locked, um I think the when the forest service was here for the for the fires, they had somehow
023in the front one of the gym doors, they had put some um little strips of metal, I guess, so they would because they didn't have a key. So that was that was an easy fix. So we're able to get that fixed. >> Okay. All right. Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Any other questions? I have none. >> Okay. Thank you, Mr. Kiss. >> You're welcome. >> Moving on to there be teacher presentations. Mr. We I'm going to let them introduce themselves, but is the library crew want to come up here and do your presentations? Miss Elwell's so soft spoken, we'll let her go first and introduce the others. Okay. >> Okay. I'm I'm Miss Hwell. I'm PreKK. You just a little heads up for everybody. You may want to turn your volume down a couple
024notches because I tend to talk real loud and can't help myself. I get excited with everything I do. And it's just very active. It's the same in my classroom. I just tell them down the hall, please just close your doors because there's nothing I can do to change my voice. So anyway, uh I got the great opportunity this year to teach the prek K. It's combo that I've been pushing for a long time here and I finally got someone to believe in me that I could do it to take on that challenge. Um to take these awesome minds of these kids that we have here in Liebrook and push them to a level that I know they can get to very easily. It's a sponge. This is the best time, the best opportunity in their
025lives to start working with them is in prek. And finally, I get that opportunity to get my hands on those little guys and bring them along with my other ones. Um, I'm saddened to see that I don't have very many here to show because I thought the best way to show is to actually give you a video of what's going on in that classroom. Rather than me just talking and preaching out here and saying, "Oh, it's awesome. It's doing this. It's doing that." I have the videos. Please watch them. I have it right here. I will try to tell you guys a little bit of what's going on in the video, but not really. You have to be here or see it. Sorry. So, let me give you guys this. And I challenge you um
026to tell me which one are the prek and which one are the kinders and those because they're all mixed in there. And I dare you that you probably can't pick them apart from each other at this point in time. It's been about a month of working with them. And like I said, other than maybe a size difference, you aren't going to tell the difference between those preK and K's from how much they're learning already in that classroom. I have kids that are um in preK, they already know nine sounds that they could tell me and they do movements to go with them. I have counting up to 10 between preK. I have kids sounding out words already. So, it's it's in process. It's going great. I love it and it's a good challenge. So, I'm
027happy with what's going on. >> Can you see that? >> And like I said, because this is how I am. This is how I teach. My hands go everywhere. It is a very active classroom. There's not one go moment in there. It's not quiet. It's moving. Actually, I've had Mr. Muffet come in many times and I'm on the floor rolling and I'm like, "Hi, hello. We're in the middle of doing a fairy tale." So, it's just the way it goes. I can see it. Okay, >> maybe we still Thank you. >> I will close it down. So, that's all I have to say. It's going fantastic. I was glad to have given been given the opportunity to do this and it's a challenge and I'm up for it. >> Did we have a choice? Wow.
028But >> when she talked to me last spring, I wasn't so sure that I had >> I am awfully convincing. Look at this face. Come on. This is hard to resist right here. >> So, how many students do you have? >> So, yeah. What? So, right now I have I keep gaining kids. If you have more out there, send them this direction. Let's get them learning. Get them out of their house. Let's have some fun. Let's crawl around on the floor together. Let's learn. But to answer that, I have 11 kids now between preK and K and it just keeps climbing on a daily basis. So, let's keep bringing them in. More the marrier. >> And actually, we knew or I knew that Miss Elwell was a perfect fit for this when I visited last
029spring when I first started and saw her in the gym with the kids playing uh with all those kids and louder than any of them. >> Like I said, I you may want to turn it down a few notches. As soon as I'm done, go ahead and turn your volume back up for everybody else. Thanks for letting me join you guys today. >> Thank you introducing the staff or whoever or any ladies. >> I believe it was just me. So >> I'm saving all the good stuff for next time. I got to let someone else have some time around here. So I'm off. Thank you. All right. >> Thank you. Thank you very much. Good evening to everyone. It's a privilege. It's so it's a hobby to be part of the board meeting. It's my
030first time I think. Oh, no. It's my second time but my first time to you know to speak in front of you. Thank you so much for for this opportunity. So what I know is that Mr. Hakz knocked at the door but and asking me about joining here to kind of like share what we have in the classroom in our ELA class. So I'm like why not? So and actually we prepared this for you. Um, so we actually have like three highlights of activities in the ELA class up at the at Gina High School. We started at the very first one to the left that is what we call thinking map. At the very middle that is what we call social emotional learning and the third part that is um the writers and cultural exchange
031skill. Let me talk about the thinking maps. So this speaking map started last year when we were given um what do you call a training about this pre-writing activities. So they are about prewriting activities. They're actually processing, generating ideas where in the first one we have the at the very center if you look at it we have the circle map and the circle map is kind of like saying hey before you write you have to make sure that you know how to define and to give related ideas and each map each map has a different use. So aside from the thinking map, there's also a bubble map right there which says bubble map is used only when we wanted to describe. So if the state test is asking us to describe, we cannot use circle
032map. We have to use the bubble map. And on the other side we have the double bubble map which says if the state test is asking us to compare and contrast then it's time to use the double bubble map. So my wish is for my students to kind of like know the difference between the thinking maps. There's actually different types of thinking mask but these are the basic the base these three were the very basic very basic and I know it helps a lot especially in the prewriting activities of my students because they were always claiming that to start the writing is always the hardest so I'm kind of like why not use this pre-writing activities so the next one is what we call the social emotion learning because according to NMPED the social emotional
033learning or the SEAL is equally important as the English math science the CTE so with that so I asked the permission of Mr. Hakez and Mr. ceramic to kind like um come up with a week lesson to kind to you know show the student what this seal is like. And so if you look at that those are the activities and the strategies we use to come up with you know um coming up with the understanding and appreciation of the seal. So we have the vocabulary square because parents were always asking about how do we attack unlocking of difficulties. So we made sure that there is a vocabulary square to unlock difficulties. We also have uh clock bodies, we have categorizing, we have gallery walk and stuff and then we end up with a launching picture
034taking of the social emotional learning. But then to be honest the social emotional learning is composed of five core competencies which starts with the self awareness. So it say it says that when we understood our strengths and weaknesses that's the only time we go we could go to the next level which is self um self-management and then the third level is the social skills the relationship skills up to the last level which is responsible decision making skills. So I made sure that my students especially the writers understood these five core competencies for them to be called uh for them to have the exile mindset which is actually connected to our capturing kids heart. So in the capturing kids heart we're always saying hey let's have this exile mindset but it's very hard to attain that
035exile mindset if the student doesn't know about self-awareness self-management and stuff. So I started um giving him a lesson about that. our eighth grades right now they don't have a lesson yet about seal I'm looking forward to give a lesson to them so the third part is actually is the writers and cultural exchange guild I'm not sure if this is something new to you but um all these three that I am trying to you know um to capture in the classroom I made sure that I incorrect to Yazi Martinez uh uh lawsuit which talks about culturally and linguistically responsive education as well as the New Mexico Education Act which says we really need to take to take note of the importance of linguistic and cultural diversity plus the learning domains with with my PDP this
036year I'm actually actually uh particular to NM teach 2C which means establishing a culture of perarning and N and NM teach 3C which means engage engaging students in learning. So, they were all anchored to this. What more? Um, just a little bit of history. Back in the Philippines, I was year 20, wait 2010 to 2013, I've been sponsoring cultural activities. And then right after that, when I am in Saudi Arabia, I've been uh participating to cultural programs too. Now 2018 when I came here at Hus Valley High School I started the ho the home and host country writers and cultural exchange skills. So I started at him valley high school but uh I have this teacher at the middle right here right here she's Miss Ramly Miss Ramly once during that time she's the only
037teacher that I coordinated back in the Philippines. I'm finally like saying, you know what, I really wanted to have a home in host country writers and cultural ex exchange skills. So, could you help me? And she said yes. But at this moment, she's in North Carolina right now. She's also a J1 teacher, which means an agent also cultural exchange. >> North Carolina is like another country. >> So, yeah. But but guess what? She's been with me since then up to now. So she knows that I'm presenting right now. So she's like make it good. So these teachers were my were my co-impleters in the Philippines. That's why it says home home that's Padre Garcia inter integrated high school that's in the Philippines and host that's Coronado Middle and High School. So yeah, then so I
038called them, I coordinated to them and I asked them about the the big plan. And so um go ahead Harris. And so this is the big plan right after um the approval. So I came up with the program proposal to Mr. Hakees and the program proposal to the principal in Padre Garcia integrated national high school. After that parents consent, we also have the photo ready. So we secured all of them after securing all of them. So we came up with the very first online video conferencing together with us the teachers and the students from the Philippines and the students here in Coronado Middle and High School. So Mr. Hakis is there. It was the first time that we we have a total participation of 20 I mean there's like 20 participant in this and we
039talk about acknowledgement of the participants the program and objective the very highlight of this actually is you know to to to let them know about the program and the infomercial. So let let me show you the program title is writers and cultural exchange guild. This is an online platform harnessing host and home country students communication skills while showcasing cultural backgrounds and best practices with pride and respect. So I reiterated to them that the beauty of the world sprouts from diversity but the best thing about it is you know showcasing it with pride and respect to each other. So yeah and then um our very objective promoting international understanding, personal growth, networking opportunities and of course the linguistic, the leadership and cultural competence. The program the project overview is uh kind of like saying it's allow
040it allow home and home host country students to participate. It's an online platform which focuses on harnessing writers to develop friendly, sympathetic and peaceful relations through awareness of local and foreign culture and practices. The program is also aligned to the central objectives that is for home and home school writers to demonstrate national interest through sharing their educational background and practices with preference to pride and respect. And so here's our action plan. Now if you look at it, we started January to fe January 2025 and the action plan will go through until this December 2025. So if you look at it, we start with the recruitment of participant. We go through spring season versus holy week infomercial. We go through one pager black poetry, the different types of writing, hamburger race procedural writing method. And now
041September to November, we're we're on the uh best of home and host country practices. It's kind of like um slideshow presentation where in the students from the Philippines and our students will have will take turns in the presentation just to show what what we have in the Philippines and what we have here in terms of practices, best practices. And then this December, we're looking forward to coming out with a locally made product as a tribute to Filipino American Guild and Friendship. There we go. So, uh yes, that is uh that happens during our first online video conference. Mr. Hakis is there. There's like 20 participants, the teachers from the Philippines. And yours truly she's also she's part of the very reason why she's here is that is not just to you know to manipulate that
042but because she's part I'm sorry about that. She's really part she's part of the writers and functional exchange skill. She's the social teacher who really you know back me up when it comes to the you know to the reminders to the mechanics of this. So she's part of it. She's also in it. >> Thank you for the push. >> Yeah. I almost forgot it. Sorry. And then so yeah, the students here are our students attending. Oh, we have 8, 9th grade, 10, 11. We don't have 12. Uh we have 12th grade, but she graduated. Miss Ggo's daughter. Okay. And so while I'm trying to support our writers, I'm also thinking of supporting the writers back in the Philippines because they have very limited resources. So I once again connected to my friend in North Carolina.
043I'm like, you know what? Do you think it's a great idea to send him a package of these stationaries kind of like inciting them to to write participate? And immediately she said, yes, why not? So So I call on the the Filipino teachers. I'm like, please coordinate to the principal that we are going to send them a package of, you know, stationaries and it's already there. So just a form of sustenance to them. And while sustaining them, of course, I cannot forget our very host students. We also sustain them, I um I posted a project to donor's choose organization. This is a nonprofit organization which says um it it's kind of like saying we need this uh we need this um >> materials and resources to come up with these activities and they send it
044to us. They sent it to us after a few weeks. And so just to show to them our appreciation, we really came up with this activities and we used the capturing kids heart. We came up with the social fun facts by the use of by the use of this uh stationaries and coloring materials. So that is one way of supporting our writers. Another thing it's my I'm so proud of my middle and high school ELA students because they came up with two books. One book um the middle school published their first book through student treasures publishing that is free publishing. We just have to to turn in our output with the consent of the parents and then they publish it. They will send it they send it back. So by the end of uh 2025
04524 25 we received the book. We have like two copies and that's it. So our middle school published one book and our high school also published another book. Then so um so if you could see the the action plan ends this December 2025. them like I think it's not enough because most of the time when we were having online video conferencing the teachers back from the Philippines both of us we were kind like facilitating we're kind of like uh taking the lead but it seems like I am thinking of the students themselves do the you know the studentled uh presentation so I'm like why not extend the program until December 2026 so that's the reason why there's another online meeting of home and host host country program implementers on the feedback support and extension of
046the program and and that's at the very bottom January to December 2026 comes they were saying yes let's continue it with a student writers le planning so there will be a planning exchange presentation of the 25 26 plan of action they will be the one to you know to come up with a design of their plan of action and execution through online video conference. So this time from January to December 2026, it will be studentled and it was uh the signatures the teachers and the OIC from the Philippines uh indicated their support in the program. So here is another activity that we are doing in the class. So we have one page design output also the pictures shows the writers doing their one page design. So it's kind of like the the coronado students will
047work on one page design about summer in New Mexico versus the Philippines one page design about you know summer in the Philippines. So they already have their output and then these are the examples of their output. going to the next slide. And that's um that's what I mean this July 2025 since both group came back or yeah came back from vacation I'm like why not come up with one more online video conference kind like online meet and greet and it is where our student um Skyla Martinez shared about uh her FFA where she talks about the the livestock the livestock um livestock raising that they they came up with this training and she's telling about livestock and then the Filipino students were like we know what you're saying because we are like uh couple of
048steps away from the livestock auction market right here. So we end up saying that this 2026 we will one of the focus of their exchange presentation will be will will be about livestock. So yeah the other students is saying hey I'm practicing I'm practicing right now. So we're in the cross country and the Filipino students were saying to be honest we are in the school intramural. So it's kind of like saying we are at different place in different time because when it's morning here it's night time there but we are in the same scheme we are doing the same you know same thing intramurals there um cross country here so same thing and then these are example no not examples but proof of because we I have um I have we have a group chat
049with the Filipino students and they are saying this um they are really excited about this opportunity and they are really thankful that there is something like this. So yeah um the donor's organization also sponsored the laminator and voice amplifier that our student writers are using every time they present. And I also have my very good friend back in here, Mrs. Springs, who uh shared her laptop and printer for our students. That is uh the teacher I'm talking about back in North Carolina who shared all of this stuff just to make sure everything will be up and going. And yeah, so just to show some of the things about the Filipino students, the Filipino student writers, they already have their stationaries. They have their cabinets right now, brand new. And they were all they all have
050uniform. Yeah, we provide them with a uniform. Now, if you could see the lady right there. So this one is her idea and I'm proud to present to Miss Lordlin Picero, our social studies teacher. >> Um my time. Hi everybody. Um I'm Miss Picarero. I'm the social studies teacher or history teacher at M Coronado Vilo High School and um I co- facilitate with Miss Edith with the writers field but to for her it's um more on ELA but for me um somehow I related to my um subject which is history too. So um last April uh 24 of 2025 so um we had a privilege of inviting Miss Jennifer and Newton Small uh she is an u author and a journalist and she works at the time magazines and she is the editor and chief
051in Albuquerque journals today and then during um her session with our students with our writers she shared her insights about like um the responsible and accountable writing and um in uh sourcing of information. We chose this topic because um fake news and the misinformations are really common nowadays. So we as teachers um who is doing this uh writer's guild. So we want our our students our young writers to be responsible writers and to be accurate on the information and resources that they that they're using. So the session had just lasted for 1 hour via zoom but um it was just so short but um our students have learned so much from her. So she shared her time, her effort, her knowledge and even provided provided us with you know the resources the links that would
052um help our students our young writers to be more responsible writers. So in connection to that too. So I personally um together with the writers have initiated also to have this project. So I'm going to show you. So this is their output. So of course we published this together with the concept of the parents. Um uh what they did was they choose a topic in history class. they wrote about it and then they accompany it with um the art and then um I compiled their work and then I mean their works and then um I published it. Uh we were able to publish it last May of 2025 and if you happen to see we have really like great kids um at Cornado Middle High School. If you happen to see their artwork, it's really
053really good. And um that's why I was I was really thinking of like oh my god um I just wanted to highlight their you know their what the students are capable of. They're really good in in writing and even in art. So I was really thinking of like why not publish their work because you know um it showcases not only their their their good in writing but also their their um their skills in art. So um I can let you um see their works. So that's your um work actually. >> Yeah. And then um aside from that, we I also have this um practice like every week. Um the annotations um I believe that you know um having these annotations would be really like great help for the students especially I'm teaching like social studies.
054And then um what I usually give them is for example like um our topic is for my government class. So I usually give them like two to three passages and um what they usually did is um highlight the key important um words that they think and then come up with you know summarizing in their own words and put it on the side of of each paragraph and then answer the questions in each paragraph. So I really believe that you know the value of annotation is just really just a great help for the students uh specifically in developing the reading comprehensions and in writing because they were able to you know identify key ideas um summarizing their own words and then reflecting on the questions they do not only learn um you know historical topics but
055they were also able to develop um reading comprehensions and in writing skills. So um up until today I'm still uh doing this on these practices because I really believe that this is really like a great help for the students >> and that's it. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> So I would love to share my uh the books from my 8th and my 9 to 12 >> and then if I may please continue. So yeah. So here are the rest with uh my my 11th grade 11 and eighth no my junior and seniors were working on the sixth grades of writing. My uh eighth and my eighth grades were working on the raises writing guide and my nine and 10 were working on the hamburger paragraph method. All of this have something to do with
056writing because we understood that the state is actually uh hanging on you know uh producing writers especially when it comes to expository and ex uh informative type of writing. And then this is also one of the most important thing about writing the black out poetry. Okay. So with all those being said, I'm very uh proud and privileged to to share to you the home and host country writers and cultural exchange guild right at our screen. And then this time please witness their exchange infomercial presentation. Sorry. You could send it to them as well. You could send it to the board members. >> Yeah, maybe better to send it just because even with the sharing the screen. >> Okay. >> It's kind of choppy. >> Okay, we'll just do it. >> Well, just send it out
057to me and I can distribute it or you can send it to each of the board members. >> That's it. Thank you so much. >> Thank you. Thank you very much. Do you mind stopping the share screen? >> Uh, thank you very much for the detailed presentation. Appreciate it. And the loud presentation. >> I don't know if Miss Gyos had anything to share this evening or not. Um, I don't Is she still on? Yes, she's still on. Uh, Miss Gangos, did you have anything you needed to share tonight? >> Okay. So, um, let me see. I had to We have the music blasting here. Um, good evening everyone, Superintendent Kushman, members of the board. Uh, at this time, um, just a a few announcements uh, regarding our career and technical education program. And so, um,
058we're excited, uh, to announce we just received notice that, uh, we're >> lost >> on that that will allow us to provide. >> Can you hear me, >> Sky? We're losing you. You're cutting in and out pretty badly. >> Okay, let's see. How about now? Jeffy. >> Okay. Is it better now? >> We'll see. Go ahead and try it. >> Okay. All right. Let's see here. We were >> Okay. So, I'm covering the the volleyball game. Can you hear me now? >> We can. >> Okay, perfect. So, um just a quick update on our career and technical education program here uh on campus. Uh we're excited to announce that we uh received news that we are recipients of the innovation zone grant uh which is a competitive grant. This will allow us to provide uh
059paid internships for our students uh sophomores, juniors, and seniors. So, we're excited about that. Um, in addition, we have our greenhouse close to to being finished. Uh, like Mr. Hawkins mentioned earlier, our Northern New Mexico, uh, instructor for welding has started classes here on campus. And so, we have a total of 15 students enrolled in that class. and we have about five uh females, which is a goal that we had with our non-traditional grant. So, it's exciting to see our program grow. Uh in addition, we have our our health sciences pathway. So, we have a group of students working on medical terminology through Northern. So it's dual credit that will allow them to move on to their CNA um lensure and uh the engineering s uh pathway with the systems go. Uh Miss Irish and
060Mr. Cho and our team teaching that course uh with the goal of launching a rocket a mile high with a one pound scientific payload and that'll be in the spring. Uh we're also currently applying for a STEM grant to help with that initiative. Uh the egg science program is doing really well. We had uh a few FFA members attend a leadership training uh out in Bernal Leo. So that went really well. Uh we have um BPA, HOSA, and FCCLA starting out. Uh BPA students just received their topic, so they're prepping for a competition. Um we're uh partnering with uh Los Alamos National Labs. Um other partners include uh Sandia um through Espanola. We're working with the rural CTE Alliance to establish uh industry partners. And so um our program is strong. Uh we just received
061um you know that that great news with the innovation zone. So, we're excited. Uh, and another opportunity that I will discuss later on uh as we receive more information. Are there any questions? >> You mentioned you are going to be presenting at the uh administrators conference in October as and the facility manager workshop that's combined. >> Yes, that's correct. So, um I've been invited to present at an upcoming statewide CT conference hosted by CES. Uh so, we'll be sharing the wonderful work that our students are involved in and uh how our CT program has grown. And uh I just received another invitation uh from the CES executive team uh to present at another um gathering. So, it's exciting. Our students are are flourishing. So, uh, it's just an honor to be part of an amazing
062program. >> And your greenhouse is nearly complete. >> Yes. >> Thank you, >> Mr. You can see both schools. >> Oh, go ahead. >> Oh. Uh, do I present at this time or are we still set up for uh action? >> Uh, that's a little later. >> Okay. I wasn't sure if I missed maybe >> I'm not sure where that is. It's it's down here somewhere. Yeah, it's still >> okay. No worries. Thank you. >> It's it's under 12 122. Okay. >> Okay. Perfect. >> Moving on to later. Dash Sean with information and technology. You want me to get up there? Can I present the hearing? >> Is it from here? >> All right. So, I have uh the first thing I have on there is the increased security for email addresses. uh we've had
063uh issues with people uh scamming and getting into some email addresses within our district. So I have implemented two factor verification for all staff members to make sure that we don't have security risks at them losing their email addresses and uh that will be implemented by the 18th. every all staff members need to have two-step verification set up before the 18th or their accounts will be locked out. Um I have may have uh let all the staff members know that already and uh they should be getting to that and uh if not we'll have to work on getting that ready and make sure that we don't have staff members get locked out. Um the second thing I have I believe is the issues with the internet connectivity in Gina which was uh we have figured
064out part part of the issue me I've been working with the elite trying to figure out what's going on. There's just something pulling too much internet and they've been uh I believe it was last week they came down and helped figure out what was going on. Uh we got the speeds up a lot compared to where they had been in the beginning in the year. They are not where we want them to be right now, but they are better where they were. Um they're more stable and it seems to be uh in a better place than what it was early on. And uh lastly, I have a update on the internet for Winstream out here in Lightbrook. We have gotten a price for the monthly bill for that. What the we Bill from Elite is
065uh talking with Winream right now to see if we could implement our own firewall because Winstream wants to charge us about $1,000 just to do their the their own firewall which would do at a much cheaper cost to us because you already have a firewall here. Um, and there's no reason for us to pay Winstream if it's not within the contract to do that. So, we are setting up a meeting with Windstream. Uh, I believe Bill trying to get Winstream and I people from our rec. >> Yes. uh to the to set up a meeting before the 19th to try to figure all this out and try to get us a lower rate because right now the cost per win would be higher than what we are paying for starting. Uh I think that's all
066I have for tonight. I stand for questions. >> Anybody have any questions for Sean? >> Not for me. >> None for me either. Thanks, Sean. Going on to maintenance update, Mr. Kushman. Okay. So, if you've been on the campus much recently, you'll see that we are cleaning up around the outer areas. Quite a bit of the old piles of desks and tables and just general stuff is going away. Um Sean and a couple others had been cleaning out one of the the old science room in the uh high school. I guess that's a wing. I don't know what you call it. >> Uh it was the old uh home class back in the day. >> Okay. Home class. And because we need that again for uh home type classes. And uh so they're about them
067cleaning that out and doing an inventory of what he has that's usable and getting rid of older equipment. So, we're rapidly pitching and preparing to sell or trade in or whatever uh vehicle equipment so that we can have a cleaner campus out here. Live Brook, same thing is going on. Sean is out here one day a week in general. Um, and then we also have one of the maintenance guys coming out here once a week or more as needed, as well as our transportation uh mechanic to uh check on buses and just make sure everything's up and running well. So, we'll get into more maintenance in the weeks to come as we discuss the bond election. So, that's Oh, well, I should say I have Ael Martinez and Ed Pomeroy both working on small contracts.
068Uh the roof is being put on on the Lindrith house as we speak and um uh fascia and sopet those sorts of things general clean up of the uh teacher is happening on the exterior and we're trying to spread out the work to our local contractors where we can. So and we're looking at some other options for long-term projects. Okay. And so Miss Marta showed me some old sewing sewing machines they have back there and she doesn't because they're not using them. Have they were donated or if they're on the inventory list, we'll have to go through the proper procedure to uh get rid of them or maybe put out there that maybe there's a mother or grandmother or someone that would like to have a sewing club. That's possible. >> I don't know if
069somebody donate uh like donated or let them I don't know how it came. if well someone donated them then um uh it's up to us to decide how to use them and it's not quite the same as the state procurement list but we had a similar stockpile anonymous when I was down there and we had a grandmother from uh one of the local churches there decide to start a sewing club for uh any students interested after school club and it grew and grew and grew and there were more boys in the club than there were girls and uh they did some really neat projects including sewing up curtains for the um stage that we had there at the school and so maybe maybe someone would be interested in starting that up. I don't know. We
070can put the word out. So, okay. >> So, moving on. Is there any questions for Mr. Kushmaker? >> I have a lot more of them later. >> But I think that sewing club is a pretty cool idea, but I have no questions. Okay, moving on to finance committee. Miss Dice. >> Yes. Um the report from the finance committee. Um I Tammy handled that meeting last night and I think Mr. Kushman, Sandy, and Lucy were all in attendance. Um you have the finance documents in your packet. Um and uh we stand for any questions or any comments from members of the finance committee. It was a good meeting and I always appreciate the responses to our questions. So, thank you. >> Okay, moving on to F superintendent report. Mr. Kushman. >> Okay, on the finance side,
071both Greece, I think Tammy and I are all attending the uh ASBO conference that's going on in the next few days, statewide conference for the fall. We'll get updates from peed and such at that conference. Um, talking about several things here. Uh, on December 6th, the I don't know what you call your meeting. What's your meeting called, Mito? >> It's, uh, for the Nav Nation Eastern Agency Council. >> Okay. They're going to be using the gymnasium here on this campus. and uh uh rather than charging them rent, I classified it as a government-togovernment meeting so that we wouldn't need to charge them for the building. Um and we're working it out and and Miss Felo offered up the opportunity for one or more of our clubs to serve the meal that day for as a
072fundraiser. So, um we're looking forward to that because she's expecting 200 give or take people to show up for that meeting. Um, we'll see what happens. Of course, weather and all that kind of thing, but >> sometimes lately the nomination vice president has been showing up. So, >> good. >> So, uh, yeah, we're trying to work together on some of these community type uh, issues and so on. And I think we've ironed out a few of the past issues as far as communication. And that's my perspective anyway. And Miss Mononttoya has been a big part of that. and um uh just establishing a a fresh start here at the schools in the community. So those are good things and we look forward to continuing to build that relationship. Um we are advertising for bus drivers,
073both uh backup route drivers and activity drivers. The activity drivers are the main thing. Um, so Miss Alw has offered to start driving and >> Yeah. >> Is it Is it because you're you're lacking I'm sorry. I mean there second question. Is it because you're locking lacking the bus or is it a driver that you're >> We have the buses. >> Yeah, we're lacking drivers. It's very difficult uh to keep drivers. uh something districts all over are facing and there's some competition on who pays the best and all that and uh and distance and that kind of thing away from home. Uh people are retiring. Uh parts of New Mexico also face the fact that they train drivers, they get their CDL and then they go to work in the oil fields. >> And so
074yeah, I just kind of curious because three hours on the bus is a long time especially with these roads. >> Yes. And we've set up trainings. Uh we've had a couple so far and we're getting ready to do another one. So we're going to just uh keep um keep at that. Uh we have our new teacher, another teacher coming from the Philippines hopefully in November and we're having to uh figure out where that family will live and uh we're working on that right now. So, it may mean the house that we were not going to improve on campus, we might need to get it some sort of decent shape to uh at least be good for the rest of the year while we're working out some of the other areas. Uh substitute teacher pay in
075our district is one set uh amount per day or well, it's by the hour technically. And I'd like to bring to you a little later after I talk to Darice more about this uh leveling substitute pay for a person with a high school diploma. Then a next step of a degree and then another step of teaching degree or lure on our substitute pay. Uh that would help attract some retired teachers I think to come back and and substitute for us. And there's several of those in and around both of our communities that I'm hoping to attract. So, we'll talk more about that going forward. Well, back to the housing issue. Uh was getting ready to put out some um uh proposals or requests for proposals or bid process on uh some mobile homes for teaches.
076But I had met with the public school facilities folks about a week or so ago at a CES regional meeting and they recommended hanging on to the money you all had freed up uh at least for the short term to use as possible match money after our bond election. And so, uh, we need to look at again getting at least one, maybe two of the mobile homes, uh, in the short term, but holding off on the others that we were going to get. So, I'll keep you posted on their recommendations. We are uh we have Palms and Associates. That's our insurance uh representatives for the New Mexico Public School insurance authority and the fire marshall's office are helping us make lists of all the needs on both campuses uh for the bond election. And um
077we need to um I've got a flyer that I sent out to the board members as a draft flyer to share with the public about the bond. Uh we've got the voter list. We've got the highest uh uh taxpayers in the county or in in our school district. They're all oil and gas companies, the top 10. Um, and just uh we I'm going to ask uh I might as well do it now, I guess, that as we prepare for the bond election, I would like two of the board members u to agree to meet two or three times to go over the needs and get input from our staff and a few community members. We've got to jump on this as far as advertising and so on. I say two board members rather than three
078or more so we don't have to advertise about a quorum every time we meet. But uh we really need to do this over the next couple of weeks to get information out there. So any volunteers from the board or would you all like to think about it and get back to me? >> I could be if it's in the evening we can make it in the evening um after your >> I'm willing to help also. >> Which one was that? Cy >> that was Lucy. >> Oh Lucy. Okay. All right. And then of course you could uh we can bring items to the attention of the others, but we really need to push hard on this. And uh my goal would be to have an open house uh in October uh for the community uh
079and do a couple of short videos and now we know who can put those together. So um but from both campuses and then have our students lead uh some tours of the campuses either through the video or live tours to point out the major needs on the campuses uh to any of the public that are uh desirous of hearing more information on those. So u we'll be planning those quickly. So I'll get with the two of you and plan some meetings. Um let's see. Uh we had a medical emergency on campus a couple days ago. Most of you probably received a call about uh the lockdown and I had requested although I was out of district when that incident happened. Um I quickly got on with beta and said send out a notice that it's
080a medical emergency so no one in the community would panic and think it was something more dire. that student is doing well and uh our staff responded well and so did our local EMTs to that issue. So uh the kids teachers did a good job of just you know staying out of the way and so on and going about our daily business at the main campus. So that was good and we continue to find areas to improve in our system but I'm hearing from more and more parents. Thank you. I'm finally getting phone calls. So, uh, we'd like just keep that out there. If you, anybody hears of individuals not getting the ROOC calls still, they should be getting them. If they're not, we need their numbers and information to update. And Sean's helped fix
081that system and get it going with beta and, uh, seems to be working much better. So, um, FFA, Mr. O, has already taken at least one field trip and I forget where they went. Does anyone remember where they went? >> To Bernalo. >> Uh Bernalo, I think is right. Yeah, they went to an FFA booth meeting there in Bernal Leo. They're getting ready to go to a dairy um and they're doing another activity. So, the kids are really excited about FFA and u we thought we'd get them involved in the meal in December and so on and maybe show off a little bit of the work they're doing if they could for a few minutes to the group. A lot of community members are excited that FFA is back. So, we'll continue to see that
082grow, I'm sure. Okay. I will share my personal calendar with you all. Remember, I'm out of district for the one week, couple weeks, uh, for some medical stuff for a day or two, and then I'll be available working from home or somewhere else. I'm not sure where I'll be for a couple days, but I should be available after that procedure. So um Oh, and then I guess that's it until after the audit committee. >> Is there any questions from Mr. Kushman? >> Um I don't have a question, but uh this is Antinet. With regards to FFA, there's a community member that wants to get involved in the program somehow. She's willing to donate or go in to talk to people. She's she was in the FFA program in in Colorado, I believe. So, she just
083wants a contact to see how she can help out the school with the FFA. She's excited. >> Give her my number, uh, my cell number, and if she's willing, I I'll put her in touch with Mr. O. >> Okay, I can do that. >> Okay. Oh, one thing I I failed to mention on the bus routes. Um, the library route uh has officially six or seven kids that are enrolled on that bus route and four of them are consistently riding or providing the meals. They're getting to school on time and a couple of our teachers are taking advantage of riding this direction uh for the day most days. And so it seems to be working well for both parties. And we've had some other families reach out to us to see if their kids could
084get picked up in between. We have to make sure we follow the state regulations on where bus stops can be in other districts. But I'll be meeting with the Cuba superintendent tomorrow at an RECC meeting uh at Asbo and u uh trying to reach some agreement where we swap some kids back and forth on those bus routes to make it more convenient for all of our parents. Okay. Okay, moving on to audit committee update. >> Um, Mr. Manning um has asked that our report to u the board that the audit is progressing um in a timely manner and it is expected to be submitted on time this year and um if he has any need to contact all of you um he will be doing that individually. I know there were questionnaires that were sent
085out to you all. Um you should have received those to respond to some questions that um that he asked you to. If you have it, would you just let me know and I will make sure you you receive that email. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Moving on to policies updates. The only one I can think of now is our cell phone policy. We do have uh several students who are failing to put their cell phones on the lockers and but they're not being seen at school, but uh I'm the mean guy. I was there filling in for Mr. Hawkins at lunchtime today and busted several students. They weren't smart enough to wait till they passed the lockers before they pulled their phones out. They actually had them out as they were going to lunch before
086they got to the lockers. So, I said interesting how you pulled that out of there out of thin air. So, um, a lot of warnings going out, but overall, I believe only one cell phone's actually been taken away from a student at this point, maybe two. Um, and none here at your school. We have the high school kids over there, so that's a whole different thing. But I, you know, um, I think it it's helped quite a bit to have that >> perform. We are not seeing like um them using their phones actually even the even their computers. There are they are sometimes like you know um uh hesitant to use it because they was they were thinking that they were also like using cell phones if they use their computers. So it's really like
087a great help that they're using their phones actually in the classroom. >> Good few little minor things to iron out but we're continuing to do that. So that's good. But >> that's good. Okay. No other discussion, no action items. >> So we'll go to discussion and action items. Discussion action items. Number one, Indian education policies and procedures, Ramis Mountain public schools. >> Did you want to say anything about that, Dice? On Indian ed policies, procedures. Um, basically it's just the pro policy and procedures um that has to be approved by the board every year in order for us to apply for um the um Indian education grant as well as impact aid. So I think you have it in the pro it's pretty much the same uh document every year. Um it's just needs a
088board approval um to approve the policies and the procedures. >> There were no major changes. No. >> Have you guys um adhereed to the to the what you guys are putting on these policies? I still haven't heard that you guys have set up a community meeting for the parents and teachers to students to come in together with the local community to >> that's in there. We will do that throughout the school year and that's what we plan to do. Yes. So >> I just didn't haven't seen it. I mean the previous president hasn't asked for two months and still waiting basically. So >> if I may this this policy and procedure will go into effect on tonight when the board signs this. So um once it's in effect then we will start working on the
089procedures that we have indicated in the in the policy. Um so now that we have the committees formed um we will certainly start um that process. >> That's a commitment on our part to do those meetings going forward if they should approve it now. So okay. So I have a recommendation for approve the motion. >> I motion to approve. >> Okay. >> I second. Motion by Miss Sandi and second by Menta. All in favor? >> I would offer up uh to our chapter president that as I said before, you hold my feet to the fire on that and we will make sure that it's done and continue to improve that relationship. >> Okay, motion carries. Moving on to number two, out of state travel act vision conference. >> This is the Miss Gigo's opportunity. She's
090if she can hear us. >> Yes. The the game just ended. It was the last set 28 to 21. >> Who won? >> Uh Coronado girls. >> Yeah. So, it was an exciting one there at the end. So, I'm back. >> Would you talk about your out of state travel request, please? And it should have been a few seconds. >> Sure. So, uh, we're requesting out of state travel, uh, to send five, uh, staff members that work, uh, within CTE to the National Vision Conference. It's the Association for Career and Technical Education. Um, it will happen December 9th through the 12th and it's in Nashville, Tennessee. Uh in the packet uh we included the uh Perkins alignment with CTE the programs of study uh work-based learning internship opportunities and the five staff members include uh
091Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Mamemik, uh Mr. O, Miss Irish, and myself as a CT coordinator. Um so uh we have $2,500 allocated in the Perkins grant for professional development which is required under Perkins and uh so uh we've budgeted the 12,500 for all five staff members to attend this conference. So the money is there and u this is a basically a requirement for ongoing CTE work and it looks good on our grant applications as well moving forward and the key people are involved. So I would recommend approval of this uh training. Okay. I have a recommendation for approval. >> I so move. >> I second. >> Motion by Miss Antonet. Second by Missy. All in favor? I >> I >> motion carries. Moving on to number three. >> We already discussed that >> the bundle eviction.
092>> Yeah, that was the two volunteers and um I sent you all out the sample flyer and so on. >> So, do we need to vote on >> um Dice? There's nothing we need to vote on at this time, is there? They're just allowing the committee to make plans. >> Right. Right. You can do a committee um selection. Um but I don't think it needs um board action. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. So, moving on to number four, National School Board Association Conference for 2026, April 10th through the 12th in San Antonio. Mr. Pushman. >> Okay. Miss Torres put all of uh or put us in for six of us to travel, five board members and the superintendent to the national conference because we can withdraw names without any penalty later, but we want
093to make sure we get the reservations in and uh uh hotel and all that reserved as early as possible. So this would be the national conference that you all attended this last year in Atlanta. This year it's in San Antonio. Okay. Do I have a recommendation for approval? >> I move by second by you >> Lucy >> or Lucy. Okay. All in favor? >> I >> motion carries. Moving on to adjust adjusting journal entries. Okay. Darice supplied you with the items in your packet and both of us would stand for any questions. So we'll take number 63 through number 113. >> Is there a recommendation? Yes, that's a recommendation to have a motion. >> I motion to approve. >> Motion by Miss Sandy. >> I second. >> Either one. >> Second by M. Lucy. All
094in favor? >> I motion carries. Same recommendation on the next item J number two and three. Okay. I have a recommendation for approval for the budget journal entries. >> I motion. >> I second. >> Motion by Miss Fusy. Second by Miss. All in favor. >> I. >> Motion carries the same on the next one for the Indian Education Act for $82,497. I have a motion. >> Sandy, was that you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Motion by Miss Sandy. I have a second. >> I second. >> Second by Miss Fusy. All in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. >> Okay. >> So, we don't have executive session, but I would like to discuss the October uh meeting. Um, let me pull up the calendar here. 14th. When's the region meeting? Isn't it coming up as well, >>
095Lindy? The 15th. Next Monday. So, I'll need to know who's traveling together. I've already got the suburban set aside for that. And I believe three of the five of you are signed up >> in TA. Correct. >> Correct. So, I'll figure out how long it takes most people to get there. I'll cut a half hour off of it and then we'll leave the office at the appropriate time. >> I'll drive myself. No, I'm kidding. >> I'll get a hold of each of you uh to discuss that later. Okay. Um in October, um uh we have oh the facility manager workshop and superintendent uh or school administrators conference is going on the week of the 13th. And I think it's important that um at least a couple of us be there to uh assist with any
096CTE questions and what's going on in the schools. So I'd like to move our meeting up a week or back a week. Um either way or we could do it um and it doesn't have to be on a Tuesday night, but we do need to give proper notice. >> What do you guys prefer? A week before the seventh is good for me. >> I'm fine with that. The seventh works for me as well. >> Yes, that works for me. >> Robert, no. Okay. So, then we'll do it on October 7th. All right. Sounds good. It'll be at the boardroom. Correct. >> Good. Right. >> Yes. >> Okay. And then the November board meeting, we already adjusted that because of that important conference I have in unit 16 the following day. >> So uh have uh
097Loretta uh register us and have a try to get rooms for the December board conference. >> Okay, we can do that. So because the earlier the sooner is they open. >> I have not seen I have not seen an announcement >> just to keep as soon as we >> Yeah. Okay. >> But is there any way for us just to do the reservations and then when we get the code call and give them the code? >> That's what we used to do and we can try but they've been pretty much not allowing that. So um we'll do our best to get get us in there hopefully. >> Okay. I will work on it. Thank you, Loretta. >> So, the next regular board meeting will be on October 7th >> and then the November's board meeting
098is the 4th still. Yes. Right. >> Okay. With that, do I have a motion for German? >> I motion to adjurnn. I second. >> Motion by Miss Sandy, second by Miss Lucy. >> Miss Antinets. Well, I say sorry that was the slowest motion of the night for some reason. Too much fun. All in favor? >> I I motion carries. So, good night everybody. >> Good night. Thank you. >> So, staff and public that are here, >> thank you. >> Good night. If you're interested in helping out with the bond election information, just stay ahead of me. But we'll let you know when we're going to meet to try to plan a push.
