001It is 6:00. So, we will go ahead and call the meeting to order and stand for the pledges. [clears throat] I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> I salute the flag of the state of New Mexico and these symbol of perfect friendship among united cultures. >> Amen. >> [clears throat] >> You want me to help? [laughter] >> Okay. So, we will move on to item number two, approval of agenda. I will make a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Motion by Mrs. Do I have a second? >> I'll second the motion. >> Seconded by Mr. Dela O. All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Okay, that motion carries.
002We will move on to item number three, reorganization of the board. [snorts] Well, I'll make the motion to [clears throat] keep the board as is. If everybody's okay with that motion, >> I second the motion to keep the board as is. Okay, we have a motion by Mrs. Esql and a second by Mr. Dela O. All in favor? >> I I >> I. >> Any opposed? Do we have to name those positions? >> Oh, >> um, you know, since it's >> and and record. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I'll just name. >> So, Amy Samuel will remain president. Susie Cole, vice president and Alyssa Esql, secretary. >> Um, we will move on to four, approval of minutes for the regular meeting of December 15, 2025. If there's no corrections, I'll make a motion to approve December
00315th meeting. >> Motion by Mrs. Esau. Do I have a second? I'll second. Second by Mrs. Cole. All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Okay, that motion carries. We will move on to reports. administrative report. >> Okay. Any questions for Ryan on the operations report? >> Um I had one Ryan um on this TWWN communication to provide free internet to families and staff. How is that going to work or how is how is families going to be informed or >> they'll be partnership with them? So it all has to go through them. They're the ones with the grant. I mean you will provide them our student names. Well, we actually can't even give them names. We have to give them an ID number. They can use that ID number to register for the internet
004service. >> Okay. So, there's like no applications, nothing that parents need. Okay. >> It's just going to be the communities where they can actually hit that wireless tower. >> They haven't given us a map or anything yet. So, definitely in town Lordsburg. I don't know how far I don't talk to but everybody in town should be able to get free internet access. Um I just have one. Um the vendor from Zaffron on the doors for the high school, have they said when they might be able to get here? >> Been able to come up. They've been super busy. So desire has been very good at getting >> Okay. Mr. Ry have one on the water source. Are you working uh with the city in regards to our water testing and all that or >> we're
005waiting on the department of health to come back down to actually give us some recommendations cuz not all water sources have tested positive or what. It's only certain ones. We don't know if it's water fountains. We don't know if it's six. It's when they came last year to do it. So, they're supposed to come back down to do a re e eval, but they haven't got in contact with us yet. >> [snorts] >> So I would say you're taking precautionary measures for the water source. >> And I had one for the stop it the reporting system. Did we already start that? >> We handed out flyers to the middle school. Um >> the flyers will go out to the high school and elementary schools this week. >> Okay. >> Kids can start using it. our
006administrators still need to be. >> Okay, that was going to be my next question. >> Other than that, it's ready to go. >> Do you guys have any other questions? >> Thank you for building reports. We'll start soon. >> We're going to start over. >> You're the only one here. [laughter] I wanted to be sandwiched in. [laughter] [clears throat] Basically, there's not like a whole lot except that we are really investing in our staff because the more we invest in our staff, the better it is going to be for our students. So we're taking advantage of some professional development that the state's offering for IAS especially and their roles that they play and how to assist teachers better uh with behavior and classroom management and just supporting. So we're hoping to take advantage of that
007and basically we're just moving along. It's just the beginning of the year. We already have some changes coming, but that's coming to the [snorts and clears throat] board meeting near me. [laughter] Okay. Any questions? Oh, by the way, on January 29th, we are having our early release and that's going to be our first family hour. So, if anybody wants to volunteer, we're take keeping everybody from 12:15 to 1:15 as much support as we can get. >> Thank you. Any [laughter] questions? I can take back to form. >> I didn't have any questions. >> Okay. What about for Scott question? >> A lot of questions for him. [laughter] lot. >> Can you get them on on the line? Huh? [laughter] >> I did love I wanted to note the school spotlight that you did. I would
008love to see that for every school on the monthly report. >> Okay. >> Every month. [clears throat] And then for athletics and connecting as just want to congratulate the cheer for their first place win over the weekend in Santa Fe. Um also if you can thank the eighth grade coaches from volleyball to basketball for their dedication for our kids. I went to go see their last home game because they're they're very tough and competitive. Yes, ma'am. >> But yeah, another >> Are there end of the year tournaments here? >> Yes, the girls. >> The girls. >> And then there's a district game that day as well for high school. >> Any questions? [laughter] So on uh truncy there was 30 contacts through December and this was a short run through the holiday. So 30 contacts
009between RBT and BTS and the high school had 10 and that was between letters and >> are these the same students? >> Most of them are. Yes, they're mostly repeats. Is there a way we could see, you know, if it's the reason so much like water need? >> Well, we Katrina does check. I mean, and I'll have to check that, but they they're normally and Scott calls them. >> Yes. >> Every day. >> Scott is really good about that. >> Yeah. And and the same at the elementary, you know, it's always in parents where he goes out. Um at the high school level it's generally more student oriented than it is parent but at the elementary it's more parent sometimes too. >> Yeah. [snorts] If there's anything on you know if our school district could
010provide or get resources or any type >> figure out what's we can help them out for the district to get the >> do a little bit more as a district. >> Yes ma'am. >> Good. Would you see this as normal or abnormal from previous? >> Well, it's gotten better than than it was last, you know, it's a little better this year, but we still have a lot of work. I mean, it's attendance has been a problem since co >> Yeah. [snorts] >> It was We're doing really good the first few months of school. >> Yeah. Yeah. compared >> and any um students that left that would drew from our district. >> Not yet. Have we had any increases? >> No, I mean it's pretty much the same. >> Same thing. Same. Okay. >> And then
011on the superintendent report, I just kind of went over the bond sale we got coming up. Um so January 2nd was a deadline [clears throat] to submit to the New Mexico Finance Authority. Um at February board meeting will be you'll be asked to approve the resolution and authorization um and delegations. So there's two resolutions we'll have to approve in February 9th. Um and then February 10th we have to submit that to RECC and New Mexico Finance Authority. Um and this is all alternative. I mean it's subject to change. Um, one thing that won't change is that February 9th. Um, and then the NMFA review and approval February 26. Then after NMFA approves it, then it'll go out to pricing and selling the bond. And again, [clears throat] there's several board considerations down there. Um, but
012again, the most important days of February 9th when we authorize it as a board. Any questions on that? >> No. >> And again, as I get updates, I'll send them to you. But this was and it's for 1.6 million. The initial sale will be questions. Do we have anything for public forum? >> No. >> Uh item number seven, board of education issues. >> Yeah, [clears throat] just a reminder, uh February 5th through 7th. So the readings are there from the 4th um for Santa Fe. I'll send you out a final email. I mean, [snorts] who all's going as they know right now? We've got All five of us. Everyone here. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, and and we are at the Hilton which is across the street. They didn't have rooms for all nights at
013the Elorado, but the Hilton is just right across the street from the Elorado. So, it's not bad. >> Going to walk in the snow a little bit. Yeah. >> Dang it. >> Yeah. >> If I catch a cold, I'm going to give you my Just kidding. [laughter] >> Um I just want to ask if we could um set meetings with our legislator representatives. um if we could shoot them an email and see if they can meet with us and maybe we could have you know any questions or anything >> and I know some of them are supposed to be at the the rec >> dinner that evening that we can shoot and see. >> Yeah. Just you know so we can see what you know >> what we want to talk about and see what
014we could do that we're on their calendars and not waiting like the last time. >> Yeah. [clears throat] And then a reminder, February board meeting is February 9th. So it's a week early. So three weeks from now, and >> I may have to call in on that one because I'm supposed to be in Santa Fe with Aspen for her trip to the roundhouse. >> Okay. >> 4. So >> and and so I mean, as long as we have a quorum, it'll be entirely up to you whether you call in or not. But if [clears throat] you're our core member, then we would need that. But no, we should be fine. So it'll be [clears throat] up to you. >> Okay. We'll move on to item number eight, consent agenda for approval of accounts payable and
015payroll liability transactions. [clears throat] >> Okay, your turn. [laughter] >> Any questions on >> Please pay the bills. [laughter] >> Pay the bill. That's all we want to know. Yeah, there I stand for any questions that you might have. >> Were those outstanding checks that we had the last time? Did they did they get clear? Did they finally clear that? >> Oh, >> well, there was more and not Well, >> I think >> most of them did, but there's still some that have not cleared you from December. So, there's new there's new ones that don't care. >> So, do they ask for like a new check or what? Well, no. They'll take that check >> eventually. >> They're just holding it. >> Yeah. >> Or or possibly it didn't come in. Yeah. >> Before, right,
016>> the bank statement at the end of >> you know, >> because these are always, you know, a couple weeks. >> Yeah. Yeah. We cut it off at December 31st. So, if they came in in January, we would they would be included in next month. Did the one from January clear January 2025 or whenever it was? >> Oh wow. Yeah, >> we'd have to look at that. >> Yeah, [laughter] >> let me look at that. And I >> can Yeah, let me >> was it to an employee or >> a coach? I believe >> for Jason. >> Okay. Um >> yeah, that's usually something that we really start paying attention to as it gets closer to the >> budget season and and stuff. So, we definitely will make sure that that has cleared or been
017reissued in the next month or so. >> Thank you. >> Can we have a deadline on that then on the for all the >> is 90 days. Is it 90 or 120 on the check? >> Yeah. >> But as far as the policy, the internal policy, right? >> We have an internal policy on >> like not as far as like No, I mean whatever it kind of puts us kind of there. >> Yeah. >> You know, holding on or or the funds or whatever. I mean think we need to press that to when they do it you need to deposit it >> or do [laughter] I mean you know I mean you know there I mean they need to deposit it >> you know because then it kind of puts a deal on the on
018the count there >> right >> way it's flowing now >> right and I understand that and if y'all wanted to make a policy that certainly >> let me call Jason just kidding I [laughter] do because we're always trying to >> right to catch them up to catch up >> and then the reissuing they shouldn't have to reissue. >> Yes. Because then >> reissuing can create because you put a stop payment but it's only good for x number of days. >> So if somebody gets reissued [clears throat] and then they find the other check >> but without a policy you know you just have to do you know but there's Yeah. >> How many days do you say? I say I think 90 should be >> probably whatever's on the check is 90 days. Yeah, >>
019we'd have to look and see. Yeah, >> so yeah, just let us know. >> Any other questions? Thank you. I will entertain a motion for the approval of accounts payable and payroll liability transactions. >> I will make that motion to approve the accounts payable and payroll payroll liability transactions as presented. >> Motion by Mrs. Cole. Do I have a second? >> Seconded by Mr. P. All in favor? >> I. Any opposed? Okay, that motion carries. We will move on to approval of budget adjustment requests. >> We have seven budget adjustment requests. The first one is $35,94 and it's an just a budget act actual revenues. It's from like date receipts. It's from student activity funds. Um the second one is also student activity funds for 20,978 and it's to budget the actual deposits from those.
020The third one is a um increased bar of $1,759 for food services. The next one for $5,19 is a geo bond building. I can get the geo one of these is library one building. So the the building one is for $5,100. 5109. Another increased bar 56,54. It's operational. It was an increase in food service. >> No, sorry. Take that back. And it's an increase on glasses or not. >> That's your surgery. [clears throat] >> The budget. It's for interest income, you know, projected interest income. So, $56,000 is what we're expecting on interest in our account. [clears throat] Um, the next one is a maintenance bar and basically it's just moving funds around in the prek initiative uh in between different functions and objects, but it's it's all zero balance. It's just moving it within the
021funds, taking some out transportation and putting it elsewhere. And then the last one is that GO library B go library and it's for 11,587 and it's for our 26 award. Now I believe that's for two years. Yeah, correct. That's a two-year. >> Any questions on any of these? No sir. I will entertain a motion for approval of budget adjustment requests. I will make the motion to approve the budget adjustment request as presented. Motion by Mrs. Cole. Do I have a second? >> I seconded by Mr. B. All in favor? >> I. Any opposed? Okay, that motion carries. We'll move on to item number nine, discussion items. So, bond projects. Um, you know, we're going to be selling our first bond about half of the initial 3.2 million or so that was approved. Um, what are
022your thoughts? I mean, we were thinking maybe or baseball field because that curve I mean it it has to be done. Um because it's it's getting in pretty bad shape. >> And how much will that be? >> Well, if we depending on what we do, we just do the turf. It was about what 750,000. But if we want to upgrade the bleachers, maybe add a concession stand, it's going to go up from there. You know, just depends on what how how what we want to do, how much we want to make, but turf itself, 750 to a million. So, yeah, it's it's a it's an expensive proposition. We have two, you know, we have the football in the >> So, every 10 years or so, we have to replace. We did the football what, three
023years ago? Two or three. Three years ago, I think. >> So, we have probably have about seven to nine years left on that one. And then this one should give us >> another 10 >> 10 years. Yeah. >> But we could do new bleachers, you know. I mean, it could >> Do didn't we have a list? We We did have one started >> cuz we had on there about um >> Yeah. In the cafeteria at DTS. Mhm. >> I don't know if we've got Have we got the one >> 1.5 million for the cafeteria >> addition, but they're trying to shrink it down a little bit. So, we should have a new figure on that. >> Um, we haven't got the figure yet for the addition for the gym to put the concession on the
024other side >> is that what it is? >> Yeah. Jam to put the concession on the back side. >> RBT bathroom. across the court and step bathrooms 200 to 300,000 >> for the new >> toilets and sinks make them look nicer >> that was needed remodel but >> but I think those have been like that for >> since I was in school some years >> since I was in school >> I'd [laughter] rather's our 10year warranty [laughter] >> we need warranty on everything here guys and what was the bathroom estimate three >> about three >> about 300,000 >> and then RBT also wanted an outdoor rescue >> so they don't have to run the kids all the way from the playground in >> there's lots of projects but >> yeah and we and the bond
025won't is not going to cover all >> of we're at 2.5 >> if we do all these with just turf though >> at 750 >> what [clears throat] No, not turf. >> Yeah, just the turf upgrades to the >> no concession. No features. We did everything. >> Um [clears throat] the term I mean we we can play on it. I mean because we'll have to play on it this year. So I mean really we would have until >> um the ideal time would be to do it during the summer when nobody's using it. Mhm. >> And then I know that the the softball discussion will be at the city again for the girls to use. Yes, ma'am. >> For this coming month. >> So that'll save a little wear and tear. I personally feel that
026it would be nice to be able to break it up into each area so everybody benefits from the money and not just one certain >> area. The doors won't come out of here. Bathrooms really have to I think the LHS stores this it won't come out of this. >> I mean it can I mean it just depends on what we want to and where we get the monies because we still have SB9 monies. >> Mhm. >> Would that cover it though [snorts] SB9 on the doors? >> Right. How much do we have in SP9 money? >> Just looking at it. Um no one's budgeted but I'd have to get in and look and see actually how much is in there. >> You can put an extra million there, right? >> Yeah. >> Just kidding. [laughter]
027Yeah, then the 1.6 million. Then next year we can go out for the rest of monies >> or we can wait two years. It just depends on, you know, how we want to space it out. >> So it's 3.2 total. >> Total >> 1.2 >> and we're doing half the first time. I could ask them to get it all, but then that gives us, you know, then that >> takes it off. So there's any changes and we're waiting on our >> our facility master plan is going to be baseball field are horrendous. >> Yeah, but that would add a whole bunch because there >> then we have to meet ADA, you know, so that quite a bit. >> At [clears throat] one point they didn't even have doors in the stall. >> And I think
028Ber went in there and >> put something curtain. >> No, he put an actual door. I'm just kidding. >> But [laughter] at first you have to put your kid right there. Don't tell tell them I'm busy here, you know. [laughter] up. >> Keep guard. >> Yeah, that's >> I don't you know we can start on turf the restrooms at RBT um DTMS probably if we want the cafeteria to come out on the next set of bond >> if we wanted to would that be I would say that first rather do that before the turtle I mean we can look at that too. Yeah, because it it's beneficial for all the kids and it's a it's safety. It's too crowded in there. It's congested. >> I would agree that >> Okay, so that one then that
029would take all of this issue >> and then asking for our senators and representatives for any money. >> Well, but they I don't >> they may have >> Yeah, they may have but they said that they're being cut out of all their funds that they're allowed to give or being reduced. Even if we take 100,000 reduced take 100,000 from you guys, please. >> But um yeah, like the gym concessions down, it's been like that for how many years? You know, >> it just makes it a little safer. I mean, it's Yeah. >> Yeah. What is in that? Didn't they have like a door and like a slip thing at the DTMS on >> comments? Yeah. Yeah. like where they could use the concession stand. I thought there was like >> for the baseball field. >>
030No, inside the gym. >> Yeah, there is. >> Could you be a cafeteria there on that side? >> It's for the queen across the floor. >> Right. They're just wanting to relocate it to the other side. >> The other side where the bleachers are >> right on where the bleachers. >> Oh, okay. Now I understand. Sorry. I feel like for this first half, we could really focus on the cafeteria expansion and the RBT bathrooms. >> Well, so >> and then >> for the DTBs that the DTS >> Yeah, that's going to take >> majority. >> That's no cost overruns. So, we're only doing 1.6. >> So, we have 1 million if it's only 1.5. I mean, not 1 million. >> No, we'd have 100,000. Yeah. And so that that although we could use SB9, we
031maybe cover did you see how much we had in SB9? >> Um yeah, I just looked through kind of quickly. Yeah, there's >> not a whole lot, but there's >> there's some that's like our [laughter] >> I need every penny, which the pennies are not going to exist anymore, but yes, >> I can get you a more specific amount if you need it, but um >> there is some in there that can carry the carryover. You know what I mean? >> Can cover one project at least. Maybe hopefully >> cafeteria first then >> I say cafeteria. >> So we focus on the cafeteria and then see what else we can do with the leftover because the 1.5 is just an estimate that they came out that was from uh >> what was the name? >>
032Facility build. So they have the in-house architects. they came out and looked at it and we get them to reduce the cost somehow >> cuz the baseball field it's just the leech right that's coming out of it basically. >> Well, and the turf's wearing out >> mainly where they're like pitching that, right? >> We can just cover it with like go get a bill [laughter] >> just saving everybody. Hey, we can sew it in pieces. Huh? >> I blew it in. >> So, first we'll we'll get started on the cap. We'll get a timeline and see what it would take. >> You want the whole facility >> and see? >> So, the cafeteria over the the gym edition. I know really wants the top of her list. >> Yeah, but I think the cafeteria is
033more >> Yeah, the cafeteria. You wanted the gym before the cafeteria. >> Wow. Our cafeteria works right now and the gym doesn't. >> Yeah. >> And I say they don't have enough time to eat >> and they're a bigger cafeteria. I don't know if that's going to help with time. [snorts] >> Well, it would probably fit more students in there instead of waiting. >> And it's like you said, it's a safety hazard. You got to make sure that they're safe first and say there's a fire or something and all those kids are crammed in that little room. >> Yeah. I've been in there a couple times and it's not >> Yeah. No, it need that that needs that to me that needs to >> Are they on the same like on the timeline where they
034go to lunch? Is it all them at the same or is it >> No, it's broken down. Broken out. >> Broken down. But it's still they're still even having it broke down. It's still >> And they're still going around that one section to get from point A to point B cuz they're not allowed to go different directions. >> So that takes about >> We'll just put a piece of tape in. You stay on this side that way. [laughter] >> I would say >> and it won't be I mean so the addition will still have part of the wall they have to cut it because that's the supporting wall. >> So it'll be like two different rooms almost [clears throat] >> yeah probably about 60 >> and if we do this >> then they might be
035able to well I wouldn't say they do the whole campus but I think it would just give them more room because we do this. Do they say how many seats it would have? >> Six additional tables. >> Six tables. >> I think a big increase would be the capacity of it to meet the >> guidance on the back then. >> Took those down at the gym. >> Yeah. Whenever they redid the DTS gym, they took out those cafeteria tables out. See, would have been I mean that would have been good because I would have had to just put mat underneath like so it wouldn't ruin the floor and that would have been a lot and that would have helped everybody. >> Yeah. >> You know, putting the mat and keeping those tables. >> Yeah. >>
036Instead of crabing everybody on the other side. >> It was our little home room that we used to have when we were in school. >> Yeah. Oh, that one. >> Yes. >> Oh my god. >> And we all looked we all looked. >> Yes. >> Oh my god. But now it gives us a little more of an idea of what we're talking about. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Now, now we're talking about now. >> Okay. Are you guys And then when you try to cram all the kids and their families for Thanksgiving meal, it's really bad. >> Yeah. >> And the cafeteria workers are smashed up in the back end with all their >> other stuff, >> cooking stuff. Oh, nice. So, this is the cafeteria. And then this is where she wanted the concession stand.
037If you want to tell the boys, the men, I mean, not the [laughter] boys. >> Still, >> what do you want to be called? Boys or [laughter] men? >> That's nice, too. >> It is. It is nice. It is needed, >> but not it's not a priority in my eyes. I don't know about anybody else's eyes, but >> for me, it's always So, >> do we need a Do we make a motion? >> No. No. just we'll we'll get started on it and >> Okay. So, cafeteria >> then we'll see. Yeah, we'll start >> and then if we have money >> then we have we start on bathrooms already. >> Okay. >> What is that, Ryan? Say it out loud. >> No, we can't say it out loud. [laughter] >> Okay, we'll move on to
038public meeting right now. >> Students attending Hago County Day in Santa Fe February 3rd through 4th. >> Right. And so we have junior high and hopefully high school going depending on we get sponsors at the high school. Um but I think there's already 10 to 12 junior high kids ready and then we're still working on the high school kids. >> And when is this >> February 3rd through >> Oh there well yeah the day before the day we're going up they'll be coming back. >> Right. >> Yeah. The third is the reception and then I think um Mr. and Mrs. Peterson are going to provide dinner for the podawa county students. >> Yeah, >> that first the third >> and they and they want to do that because they want andber kids to mingle so
039when they meet with each other they're they're more present >> united. United. Yes. >> Okay. Um is that uh student council students are be going? >> Yeah. Or student leadership. >> Okay. >> Or or Yeah. student council. >> And that's Coerson, right? >> So they're unable to go. That's why we we have to find >> I was going to just ask if you know if you could pass the law maybe talk on topics that you know kids need and want to see for our governor or our representatives or legislators they would love to hear that. And then I know Senator Ramos said if anybody like wants to be an intern for him like during the summer, you know, you know, he love to have a student up there >> to just oversees everything. But, >>
040you know, if they could just, [clears throat] >> you know, prepare something. Now we'll move on to item 10, action items, discussion and possible action on yearly preventative maintenance plan. >> Right. So I think Ryan's given us a copy of that. Any questions? We have to have this done every year. U just be approved and on file with the state. Um so any questions or anything on it? Did anything really change from just dates? >> So this would encompass like the lights and the doors and indoor and outdoor lights and stuff like that. PSA making sure. [clears throat] How many maintenance personnel do we have? >> Seven. >> Several bounces are how many maintenance people total? >> Four. >> Just maintenance. >> Yeah. So four and the training. Oh, never mind. Question. [laughter] >> Um,
041if there's no discussions or questions to be asked, I will >> who's maint? >> Yeah. >> Oh, he was here. Oh, >> yeah. Well, I saw a guy come in and I'm like, should we go and check? >> It's only about >> bring them in. I have questions. >> I'll entertain them. I'm sorry about your appointment. I'll move to discuss uh I mean move to um >> approve approve early prevention maintenance plan. Sorry. Motion by Mrs. Esal. Do I have a second? >> I'll second the motion on it. >> Seconded by Mr. Dela O. All in favor? >> I I >> Any oppose. Okay, that motion carries. We will move on to discussion and possible action on starting the SLP RFP process. So right now our you know we we already approved an RFP for
042up to three years for the SLP but it's distance you know they're doing virtual and we still want maybe entice boards to come back or an inperson facility. So every year until we get one we'd like to go out for RFP and if we don't get something in the house then we'll keep with what we've got. It's working well. It's just not the same level of service as in person. >> I don't think they get Yeah. >> Yeah. So, we would like to go out for RFP to try to find somebody to come back out in person to these. >> I agree. >> So, we just need a motion to approve that. On that, >> I'll make a motion to approve um starting the SLP RFP process. Motion by Mrs. Cole. Do I have a
043second? >> I'll second. >> Seconded by Mr. Bar. All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Okay, that motion carries. We will move on to C discussion and possible action on community solar agreement. >> Right. Um, so this gentleman's been going around town part of the solar project. So what it boils down to is they'll basically shave 10% off our bill. They'll take any bill, take 10% off of it, and then we pay them, and then they turn around, take P. >> Um, I've got our attorneys looking at the contract, but they haven't got back. So if this is something we want to do, I'd say approve it pending attorney, okay, of contract. But if you look on page nine of the brochures, um it's kind of our proposal breakdown based on our previous year's
044usage. And [clears throat] basically it will save us about $2,300 a year. So a total of 77,000 over 25 years. Um, and that's one thing I want because, you know, in their proposal or in their contract, um, you know, it's like a 25-y year contract. So, I just have to make sure that we get out of we don't like it. There are several things that our going to check before we actually >> the inflation cost. >> Yeah. And I know there's a cost um in the first three years, maybe in the first five years. So, I just want to make sure that there's nothing that will cost us money. >> And then after the 25, then we own the solar. Does it work like that with this or >> No, no, it's just a 10%
045discount. All it is, it's not our solar. It's not It's their solar. >> If we say we want to participate, they're basically going to allocate us 325,000 kilowatt hours. Um, [snorts] and then they'll adjust the bill. You know, they'll [snorts] whatever P&N, whatever the P&M bill is, it's basically we get 10% discount. So, it'll say, they estimate based on previous usage about $2,300 a year in savings. So, I don't know, you know, because right now that's not I have our attorneys looking into because we have a tax abatement agreement with P&M through 2032 that we get $20,000 a year every year, you know, by July 1 every year. >> I just want to make sure it doesn't interfere with that at all. I don't think so because it's a tax bake. So, that >> is
046Yeah. So, but I just I want to double check that as well. >> And if we were to do this, where would you set up those panels? No, they're already set up. That's that one that's going in out >> coming on from solar >> that's the panels. So, it's just a big project and we're just basically getting a small sliver of the power that that generates. >> And actually, that power goes to P&M. They're selling all their power to P&M and then they're turning around and selling it back to us basically. >> I know the county just to prove a bit >> I think the county did. I think the city as well. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> But they um did an agreement and got the attorneys involved that they could opt out after 3
047years, I believe. >> Well, and that's what the contract says. >> My understanding, just my reading of it is after 3 years, we can get out without a penalty. >> But I just want to make sure that my interpretation is correct. I don't want to. >> So that's why >> And how much is our total bill right now? like >> well is it 20? >> So the average let's see their average bill is about 29,300 um per year. And so they're saying that if we subscribe with them, we would be build for that 29,000 26,000 basically, you know, think some change. >> Mhm. >> And then they would turn around and because they're selling the power to P&M and then we're just paying them. So they give the money directly to PNM >> on our
048Yeah. Because we we pay them. Yes. >> And I called P&M. They said they had very they they wouldn't say I said, you know, we're looking at a community solar project and they said, "Well, we have several community solar projects, so they wouldn't specify anything on this." But >> do you recommend it? >> Um, you know, I don't know. Um, >> I say we wait. >> Yeah, because it's only a 10% savings, >> right? Because we're not sure about the legal binding or contract what it's going to, you know, cost effective. It's this is just an estimate >> and and there's no Yeah, right. There's no guarantee there could be additional fees or something like that. I mean, it could come back >> invite us. >> Yeah. >> And then they're paying more. >> Yeah.
049um >> because if we're having to pay them, it may be what we're getting, >> you know, be what we're getting back. >> Yeah. >> Like initial costs. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. I mean, if we could because there was although we didn't get the grant, there was a company working on a grant that would have come in and put like solar parking structures and stuff like that, our parking lots, stuff like that. that would have been more beneficial to us if that would have gone through, but we didn't get that that grant didn't go through. >> So, this is basically just a 10% discount. >> I personally say wait and see what the attorneys have to say and if it is even going to be beneficial, if what the cost of >> even joining then
050with them. >> I would agree to that 77 figure that's over 25 years. But if you divide that and everything, you're looking at the other fees that will accumulate throughout. [clears throat] Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And are we is it going to be cost effective? That's my question on it. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. >> Because it is it is no investment on our end. I mean, it is absolutely no money out on us. It's just supposedly it's a savings program because they're generating power and then they're able to sell it to us cheaper. Yeah. So, >> so I'm just [snorts] um I'll move to table this community solar agreement. >> Okay. >> With the attorneys. >> Would you like me to have them come in? >> If I've heard it twice already, but I
051don't know about everybody else. [laughter] >> I mean, I'm >> I I just need to have the attorneys. >> Okay. I guess just with like is it going to cost us additional costs, you know, like adding >> well and and it's just well and it is a >> sales that he's giving us. So, >> and I and I don't know because the 10% savings are not guaranteed. >> Yeah. >> You know, it's not I mean it's 10% off their rates, but if PN has other fees or whatever or if they're going to put the policy such as a business or independent or how is that going to work? So, we second that motion. I'll second to table the community solar until further discussion. >> So, we have a motion by Mrs. Esel and a second
052by Mrs. Cole. All in favor? >> I. Any opposed? >> Okay, that motion carries. And with no other business to take care [snorts] of, we will adjourn at 6:49.
