We're going to start this evening with um oath of office with Judge Shannon. We have three um board or board elected officers and um when Simbalo, Amanda, and Monique. >> Well, the first one I have is Miss Simbalo. Simolo. >> Oh, let's put you in front of me here with your hand raised. Anyone want to take a picture of you while you're doing this? Do you want to guess? >> No, there's an edge. I, Miss Gwen Symbolo, >> I, Miss Gwen Symbolo, >> do solemnly swear >> that I will support the Constitution of the United States >> that I

I will faithfully and impartially discharge >> the duties of the office of school board member >> the duties and the office >> of the office of a school board member >> on which I'm about to enter >> to the best of my ability. >> So help me God. >> Okay. Congratulations to you. Thank you. Now, if you'll sign this bottom line right here. and >> again good luck to you. >> Thanks for being here. >> Well, my pleasure everybody. Thank you so much for doing what you do. >> I do all the delinquency cases in PAL and I ask my GPOS's one question at the beginning of every delinquency hearing on every kid. What percentage of my cases in delinquency court come from families in crisis? >> 80 to 90% is one answer. 90% is

the answer of kids. And so for those kids who are coming from really good families, I'm sure they're going to be very successful. And for those kids who are struggling at home, man, that's where your work's cut out for you. So, you guys take the time and invest and volunteer like this, you don't know how much I appreciate it. I'm not a parent, but boy, I deal with the kids. And uh uh there's a lot of families in crisis and for some kids, this is the safest place, safer than home for a lot of them. So, your work is important. I really appreciate it. >> All of you have a lovely evening. Good luck to you all. >> Thank you. Thank you, Doug. you guys anytime every two years, right? >> I got at least

five more years on the job. So, call me up and I'll take care of it. >> Thank you. >> All right, we're going to call this meeting to order at 6. I'd like to welcome everybody um and really welcome um Yolanda Cordova our coach and thank you for being here. Is there any others? Is there any others online? No, there isn't. All right. So, we will call a moment of silence. Thank you. And you stand with me for the secret of the flag. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. symbol of friendship among United. of secretary please. >> Um Mr. Jason Gonzalez >> present. >> Miss Glenn Simba >> present. >> Miss

Amanda Bissell >> present. >> Miss Monique Visaga >> present. >> Miss Caroline Grant >> present. >> We have a quorum madam chair. Thank you, >> Madam Chair. Um, I recommend uh approval of the agenda with uh removing item five, oath of office and Monique Visa, incoming board members for the recommendation by the superintendent. Is there a motion? Motion by Miss Simulo. Is there we have a second? Okay. Second by Miss Saga. Any discussion? Roll call, please. >> Okay. >> Mr. Jason Gonzalez, >> yes. >> Miss Gwin Simbo, >> yes. >> Miss Amanda Bissell, >> yes. >> Miss Monique Visila, >> yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant, >> yes. Motion carries to approve the agenda contents for this evening. Madame Chair, I recommend approval of board minute meetings uh December 16th, 2025 regular board meeting minutes for

heard the recommendation by the superintendent. Is there a motion by Miss Visa? Do we have a second? I will second by Miss Grant. Any discussion? I had a question about um under I know that's just probably a a simple thing. Oh, under A6A um it says would like to custodian applicant applica applicant has accepted the position. >> Yes, I'll change that. >> I'm sure you're just saying that the applicant has accepted the position. >> Yes. And then at the very bottom under um well very bottom but under nine items for future meetings and number two the superintendent evaluation. I don't know if that was just these would be items of this meeting right? >> Yes. Take that one out. that one and the region two meeting for December and we Oh, you're right. >> We

put in region two meeting. Okay. So, um, any other discussion? So, um, roll call to approve the board meeting minutes for December 16, 2025. U Mr. Jason Gonzalez, >> yes. >> Miss Gwen Simolo, >> yes. >> Miss Monique Pisaga, >> yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant, >> yes. This amendment is >> abstain. >> All right. The motion carries to approve the December 16, 2025 regular board meeting minutes. Okay. So item number six of election of board of education officers. It will be um every year we do a new election. Uh and then after that we'll do um committee committee members. Are there any we'll start with president then vice president and then secretary. So are there any we'll open for nominations for the office of president? Any nominations grant? There are any other nominations. All right.

Who nominated? I'm not a great hearing. No other further nominations. Nominations are closed. So, um I'll call each member's name and then just respond with yes or no. Did you accept the nomination? >> Yes. >> Rebuttals. Fair point. >> Thank you. >> That wasn't on my notes. >> Mr. Gonzalez. >> Yes. >> Miss. >> Yes. >> Miss Bissell. >> Yes. >> Miss. >> Yes. Miss Grant. >> Yes. Right. Um, so I guess the the motion carries. All right. >> So, um, nominations are now open for the office of vice president. Any other nominations? There are no other no further nominations. Nominations are closed. So, I'll call you uh each member's name to to vote. Mr. Gonzalez. >> Yes. >> Did you actually first scattered Miss Visa? >> Yes. >> Miss Grant. Yes. Okay. Miss Thistle

is the vice president. And now we have nominations open for secretary. Is there any nominations? >> Okay. >> All right. Any further nominations? >> All right. No further nominations. The nominations are closed. I'll call your name to vote. Mr. Gonzalez, >> yes. >> Miss Singal, >> yes. Miss Bissell, >> yes. >> Miss, yes. and Miss Grant. Yes. >> All right. So, um, Miss Monique is secretary. >> All right. Um, so now we need um we need um finance committee volunteer and we need two on this committee. When did the when did they meet? >> Lately, we've been meeting at 3:30. The Monday before meeting the Monday the day before. >> Are you meeting online or in person? >> Just the finance committee on the audit committee, >> right? Well, we're voting for both. We need

both right now for finance. I would say that I know it was all it's always been challenging for for board members to attend at that time. There's any little room like a lunch or they usually last about 30 minutes. I mean, sometimes they can go longer, but for the most part, it's been about 30 minutes. >> Who attended those meetings? >> They've been at 3:30. >> Who attended those meetings? >> We have um Miss Janice, myself, um and then whoever is selected. And then we have a parent. I mean, you can And Mondays are what time usually? >> Usually 3:30. >> 3:30. >> If you want to do lunch time >> and it's online >> similar to it, >> I review the finance. >> No, similar to that committee. >> Yeah. >> Who is on

the finance committee currently? myself and Martinez. So, Gonzalez, you're interested. We have Mr. Gonzalez for finance committee. Any other volunteers? >> May I ask, are we looking at 12:00? Is that a good time for you? >> Um, I'll I'll make it work. It's makes it easier that it's on the make whatever time. >> Could it be if it could ever be 11:30 or does it have to be? >> No. >> Whatever the four year time. >> Can you remind me when audit committee meetings are >> during the audit? So between like August and December 23rd. Okay. I can answer. >> If no one else can do it, I I'm I can still do the finance committee. >> Are you Are you thinking about it? >> I'm thinking about it. So, I could be your um

substitute. >> Substitute. Yes. >> Okay. I can probably make it work by I just have to work it into my schedule. >> Okay. >> All right. So then um this grant will be on the finance committee also >> and then Miss B said I will be substitute >> she >> okay so audit so the audit committee how often do you guys meet >> um so we usually have an entrance an exit and then now they wanted us to do once a month so between August and December it was once a the rest of the school year. Is that or the rest of the year? Is that when someone goes well? >> No. Yes. December. >> I I feel like I'd like to be on the audit committee. I'm I'm in audits for work all the

time. So, my brain's been is being trained that way. >> So, Miss Thissell is on the audit committee. I'd like to remain on the audit committee. Okay. Miss Lisa on the audit committee. >> I'll be the substitute, but I can't say what my time is going to be committed this year just because now that utilities director came back. We're getting our ball moving with all of our projects. I'm not holding the department up anymore. We're going forward. So I can't really like what you guys >> when it comes when it comes together. It's usually we used to have to >> audit usually the auditor will send me like a date and then I send you guys >> a couple dates and times. >> Have you had the ex the exit concrete yet? >> Okay. that

people. >> So the finance the do we want to keep it 3:30 or different time 3:30 or 11:30? >> So are we going to try to do a lunch or you wanted to keep it at 3:30? >> We keep it the same. Either way, >> if it does ever need to change, I mean, if you could do it at lunch, just have a paper to the paper packet, right? Your packet and put it in the packet. >> I'm ready to get taken. >> Would I be able to show up like in person? >> Yeah. Okay. Um so according to uh policy um B 090 um the the new elect offices elected would take that position immediately. So So ready I was like I'm ready. Thank you. >> I just do it in there. I don't

know. Did you not just say please committee room? >> That was all committee. >> Yes. strange question that I'm reading that. Do I just do like an automated signature? Like do I get it done or something or do I have to come in every time? >> No, I'll get you the form and then I'll just need your signature and then we'll we'll get some tricks. But we can't do that until uh it's approved by the bank. So the bank, you'll have to go and visit the bank before I can change it. >> My wife check your signature. Oh, wait a minute. Yes. And um that just for convenience for Miss Cortiva everything that you're showing on the screen she can see she's able to see. I'm sharing my screen. It's >> Miss Civville. Can you

see it? >> Yes, ma'am. I can see everything. >> Ready to move forward? >> Okay. So, item seven, public comment. Is there any public comment? >> No. >> So, public comment session is closed. No longer take any public comments. Chair. Um item eight superintendent for any questions. >> PLC stands for >> learning. learning committee. I'm a little sick today. >> Yes, sir. >> Um, so I have a question. The less Trump do group, do they know or have they been in contact with what the latest is as far as the >> last time that Well, we let them know about the survey. So, they know. So, yes, they know that the survey is currently happening. >> Okay. Um, I have a a question about the the pantry operation. Um, it's it's great to read about

and it also gave me a little pit in my stomach because I was like, "Oh, band room. Does that mean we're never going to have music again, but we're just using that right now?" It was the room that was available that was closest to the outside where it could be more speak, right? That makes sense because there's an out that outside door, right? >> And the families that have been using it, they have asked to be um anonymous. >> Still seeing Mr. D's class or that same I haven't I haven't checked, but I'm going to say it's still there. >> I have a question about um student count. I know that it seems that we're dropping in students. Um, has there been any plan to disc to have like discussions with students middle school and

high school aged as you know why they're leaving and not not so much parents or or guardians but the students themselves. >> So just to be transparent with the board but at the same time just remember within the realm of the board um this is a very touchy subject. So, even though um we have I mean it seems like it's a a lot of individuals, it's we're looking at three families that have multiple kids and the reasons that are stated in my board report are I'm going to say what is in the best interest for the students without saying too much if that's fair. I will say I mean one family their par their mom is working in um walk in it just makes it easier for them to travel um their family or her

family is out there so if they need somebody to pick them up it's convenient for them another family they move to house and we can't control we can't control that it's job opportunities and then the other one I'm going to say it's wasn't the messages for the students. I'm unfortunate that we're losing the students, but at the same time, um I'm going to say if it's in the best interest and the safety of our students, I it's always okay. >> How about have we discussed it with any of our middle school or high school students why they're considering leaving? These are the only ones we've heard of. >> Okay. Thank you. Any other questions for superintendent? >> No, I think you answered all the questions I posted. Thank you for I um I apologize. I'm

going to go back to your question this morning. Um I know and without disclosing too much information um just in case it does lead to litigation later on. So there is I know that there has been some talk um just based on some of the investigations that have currently been happening. >> Yeah, that's yeah. Thank you. And just for the record, um we have superintendent answering questions for the board um on record so that we and use our time appropriately in the meetings >> within the Q&A. I think I would request a few less acronyms than the report. I found myself looking things up >> or like you're explaining it. >> Yeah. If you're going to use it multiple times the first time, you could just >> What is that? need to apologize. I forget

you're lingual. >> Madam chair, at this time I defer any questions that you that the board may have uh for the final commission. >> Are there any questions? I I'm sorry and I didn't um do it early enough to get them on the Q&A, but um I did have I have I was just I'm semi curious about the bar for Medicaid because it's listed as a grant and I always thought our Medicaid was a fee for service revenue and so I guess what do we have multiple funds for Medicaid to support? >> No, that's the only fund. And is and it it is fee for service or it's a grant. >> No, it's a it's a reimbursement. >> It's a reimbursement. >> Yeah. >> And how do Okay, because it ties to so in the

encumbered table, which thanks for providing that. That's really that's a great table actually. I was happy to see that is there's a at the bottom the encumbered amount of that one of the Medicaid. It's like almost fully encumbered. And so are we limit are we capped at amount we can bill for Medicaid or is it it'll just kind of keep in acrewing as we're able to invite or >> so I know that all our claims are done like in a monthly basis. So it's like a sweep that they do through Medicaid. Okay. >> Then I do a quarterly um where I do like all of our services in there. um we have been in discussion that our Medicaid reimbursements are very low. >> So we may not have funding to fund up that position. So

it'll have to pay um be absorbed with operation funds next year. >> And currently RC is overseeing our Medicaid. So >> reimbursements are coming in. They're coming in very low. >> Yeah. No, that's we have conversations. So, um, Mr. and I have been discussing it and we have or I have a a meeting scheduled with Miss Truhill and Miss I'm gonna say Wally, I don't know her last name or something. >> Okay. Yeah. know that one and I was like and then um again and I also noticed like in the out of school grant and the Indian ed grant those bars that were moving quite a bit from salaries to contracts are we're just not able to fill staff positions >> so with the Indian grant um that we had good question this was ask

the finance committee as well um the funding that we had at first when we were writing the grant was allocated for a full-time position um for uh the T- well class and we had a hard time filling the class and at the time Governor uh Wing Yaza was able to do I think it's like 27 um FTE so it was not very much compared to what we had allocated. So with approval from PED we asked if we could move it and they gave us some ideas of what we could do. So we're using that as contract work because there's the tobo language is not written and there's not curriculum for it. So we do have some individuals from the uh picod that are writing the lesson plan. So that's the contract that goes with them.

>> Okay. >> And I'm sorry you can choose the other one. >> Well it was the out of school. So and with the out of school that's our tutoring program. um we had a hard time finding individuals that wanted to um do the tutoring at the end of the day. We do have uh SFA which counts in it. So we'll start getting that. Um I will say that our individual so there's going to be a changes and I don't know if that it's reflected on your bars. uh the person that is currently doing it or getting paid out of um the out of school tutoring grant uh is pregnant and she'll be taking leave so she'll be gone I believe in February. So we're going to move that one around and then we also have

three individuals that are currently interested in the tutoring program at the middle school high school and that's starting to take place I believe it started this week. So, you don't see that it like the moves impacting services for students or meeting any of the outcomes? And um I'll say no because um Mr. McCauley also in in partnership with Picquo, he has a they have a tutoring program over there. So, this would be in addition to >> Okay. Okay. Um then um I had another question for the when you show the payables for um payroll I noticed for the like the leave of leave leave acrual isn't there's no amount there like so it doesn't show what our liability is for leave now is that something that can scale >> yeah that can start or like

to you've shown cuz I noticed or the amount that is there is not it's like under it's like $1,000 so I know that's not >> because I think it's just important to keep that like right if every so if every staff was like that's it I'm out and we had to pay their leave like knowing how much that cost in terms of how it would impede cash flow >> so then you want me so I I wouldn't be able to put it on the payroll report cuz it's already like reconciling, but I can add another one with everybody's lead balances. Is that what you're asking for? >> No, just like overall lead balances. >> I mean, >> it'll just be annually. So, I can do >> or like the Do you have that as a

the cash amount? >> You don't? >> No, it's just hours. So, like when people like leave the district, they get annually, that's when we do the calculation according to their hours, >> but not their sleep. I think just even once a year to have a sense of what that amount is if it's too cumbersome to include in like monthly >> but having a sense of what that liability is for the district could be helpful information. I just saw leave payout and maybe that's on it and I didn't see it. >> So on that one where it says leave payout if somebody requests annual leave that's where we for that pay period. >> Yeah. So that those pay periods we didn't have yet. Got >> it. Um and that it would be very like you're asking

would it be hard because it would be it would depend on what that individual sal what their salaries are. >> I mean yeah I mean we I know that's something we calculate monthly just to have a sense of like what what that liability is right um because it's money that we essentially >> owe owe people. Um, and then I just saw a couple more questions. >> Those are good questions. >> In the in the table you provided the like that has the encumbered amount. Some of them I was like, "Oh, whoa, Nelly like the transportation >> is that it's are these encumbered amendments through the full fiscal year or just through the current month through December?" >> So like some of those are little start like transportation, >> right? the food service. There's quite a

few that are so low. Are we? And I guess I just when I saw those like community schools, there's 750 bucks there. You round up and I'm just curious what are those are. >> Those ones are already in covered. >> So that one. >> So the salaries are for that one. >> But like transportation, food services. >> So like >> those ones are monthly because she puts in her peels monthly. services. So, right now she's pretty much used all of her her 2100. So, now we're using operational funds that were already allocated for that because we already foraw that she wasn't going to have enough money to have fun. >> And do we have enough allocated to those areas if that's what the budget balance is? >> Right now, we're still fine. >> We're also

getting the reimbursements from it. However, they we know that they run in the red and the transportation we get reimbursement for as well. >> We get that one in a monthly basis. So, it's like a set amount when you divide it per year. >> So, is that the remaining true the 22,000? >> I was like 21,000 I checked this morning. So, 21,000. The issue is that we've had a couple of the buses break down a whole lot. >> Um the speed bus. >> Yes, we did. So the buses are are currently fixed and good to go. >> I mean we have a bus a school bus line but is that only to purchase new buses or is that for >> that's the funding for two and from bus. So we should be getting it middle

of February that'll be pretty soon. >> No when yeah I just I think of for me my I was like wow those are such important student services food and transportation to be that low >> with six months. Well, I guess not like school year months. There's only a few, but still those characters. So, just knowing what the Yeah, the plan is, right, for those services. >> I think for transportation, we'll be okay. We usually don't have to um borrow anything from operational to cover food services where majority of the time we have to, but right now we're okay. So, okay. in a couple months. >> Got it. Thank you guys. >> Thank you. >> Question. Um I had asked uh at our finance committee meeting about the board budget and you know just a couple

of things that came out from that discussion was that um if we as board members could be um diligent with turning in POS or turning in uh whatever we're needing to turn into Miss um and I'm speaking for myself um to miss after conferences or you know for whatever purpose so she could turn that information around. Um I think just being leaders of the school district that would be a good for us to to be a model for that because there are there is right now in in the red because of incoming information she hasn't received. Um, and then just a a a reminder for uh cuz when we when we are going to those conferences, there is that cut off date and I asked Miss uh Annette when the cut off date is for

conferences to let her know if we're going or not and so that she doesn't register us and then and then we don't go we lose that. I think it's $300 to $400. So, just to um be mindful of that and um cuz that that's that's a lot of money. A lot of money for that. Um so, just just some reminders for our budget. It's not a big budget. Um Miss Yolanda still has not sent in an invoice and um I don't So, just just an FYI and um so that was what we came up with that. If I may, I just want to remind the board that part of our school accreditation is um the participation in those meetings. Um so we could have everything else in place and if you guys are not attending

those meetings as required, we can lose our accreditation. >> They lose what accreditation accreditation. So, isn't it like um what is the high school considered a um what kind of school? >> A spotlight school. So, it affects that. Okay. Not the um it affects us being accredited as a school. >> It's accreditation. It's something that they're looking at and um they spoke about it last year and I don't know if you were I don't remember if you looked at that last meeting but it's uh a new retirement from um I guess PB and NS it was at the NSBA that they said that affects our accreditation of the school and they required all of our schools to get accredited. So we are fully accredited right now. Um however those meetings I would hate for us

to have everything else in place and the one thing that we're lucky as our board is not going to the meetings. >> Is it the meetings or just the training trainings? Trading there's other things. Okay. Um turn members looking at item 9A policy K-0850- um KCD public donations to schools. This is the first reading. So, I did go to um a financing and budget training. I'm going to tell you that probably one of the best things I think done. So, I thank you guys for your recommendation. It was good and I learned quite a bit um in that meeting. Um well, we learned a lot of things that we can and cannot do and things that we need to definitely stop. Hello. Um I I will say they were like, "Oh, oh no. Oh no."

Um one of the things that they had pointed out um was whenever we get donations and usually this is for athletics that we see it most most of the time it's athletics. I don't know if you would agree with that. Um where families are donating or companies are donating to the schools. So, how it's written currently in our board is that in our policy is that it has to go through board approval before we can even accept it. So, and it does say or is that designate, but I'm asking that we change the language. Um, so keep everything as is, but change or it's designate to superintendent or business manager. This way, we don't have to wait until we have a board meeting to accept any donations. This is for monetary or other things. >>

The so the designate isn't explicit. Is that the problem? We need to be more more explicit. >> Have we have we experienced having to wait >> thus far? Did Did I miss something? we were not following that. So we're making sure that we're following policy, but I have mentioned before is something that we're going to start doing. So I didn't know about this until we actually I went to that meeting and I was like, oh, so we need to definitely change it. And I do want to make sure that we say superintendent or business manager, especially if like if I'm not here or Mr. D's not here that we can still accept those um donations. We had a pretty big amount. I think it was what 8,000 that we had last week and we want

to make sure that we can accept those in a timely manner to still be in compliance with them. We have to deposit it, >> right? Cuz we can't keep it. >> Um I guess I have a question about like when if we change is it going to how is it affecting like the timeline? Like say somebody play the Mustang gives us like $500 for whatever for for girls basketball, whatever. Then that means that it has to that you have to prove that you are accepting it. >> Either either one of us can approve it. >> Yeah. >> And it doesn't have to come to >> I guess my question what I'm reading up to is like >> but if neither one of us are here. >> Well, not just that, but like I don't want

it to be like a big process because then people aren't even going to want to donate if they have to like jump through all these hoops to give us. So it wouldn't >> anything >> it would be the process that became >> I can I would not want to be the one on listed because since I do the reconciliation and all that >> I can't handle the money I can take the money to the bank but by me accepting it I think that would be like a liability for the school district >> because I'm accepting donations and I think that on me personally I would um just because that maybe I'm not advising. >> I agree. You need that separation of duties, right? Somebody who's logging. But it seems like >> like in the training

you went up to >> she she receives money so she could just because I'm balancing I wouldn't want to be put in that position where >> we have to have to Yeah. >> Cuz like for like now I can't receipt any of the money if somebody comes and Veronica and aren't here. I can accept it. >> Or can we put someone from admin office? >> Can Can you put like admin like somebody from like the administration team? Cuz like sometimes when when you can't attend like a sports game or whatever, you you uh designate somebody as like the administrator on call or whatever, right? >> Yeah, we can. >> So like Mr. Null or any of the principles? >> Yep. I wonder if by naming though you're actually going to put yourself in bigger like

designate right now it's broad enough that it could really mean anyone like really anyone right here and and but then maybe the discretion would be adding something to the policy that's like you know the board and its designate has the authority to accept gifts along with board board practices of cash collection deposit receipts reconcili like but that language in there to show that we have a process to that to to back it up that people aren't just like leaving >> so or it's me and then how did you say that other part leave that part as is and then >> you know like something in accordance with school practices or you know policies practices of what would what would it be Mr. procurement >> not procurement Okay. >> But like receiving >> money handling >>

protocols. >> Yeah. >> I think there's going to be space for that anyway, right? >> Yeah. And was there a dollar amount like like any I mean I know any amount I guess we have to record >> but like is there a minimum that we like somebody's going to give us $5 we have to >> as long as we have that and I agree if we leave it as a designate and just add in accordance to uh money handling uh protocols then it could be anyone that we can accept it report as is. I just don't want to get in trouble for not following it. >> Yeah. And then we maintain the separation of duties. >> And then if you cover the density, would you have a form that they would sign or that you

would sign stating that they just need for that specific event? I think that you'd have to ask anything like that like a proxy form >> like we'd be asking. So right now when they do the cash receipts they got they have to sign them who received it right when they received what the money they received the money. So it's already documented with the signature of who received it. >> I apologize in the lower end of the weather. So and then a like usually a receipt is given at that point. So there's a receipt book as part of the hand the money handling. Yes. So we had that document today. Did we get the waiver from the state for like the 72 hours to to deposit our stuff? >> We or we still >> So we

only have a limit of 500. So once they reach the 500, I have to take it. >> So >> within 24 hours. >> We're selling 24 hours. >> But there's a game Saturday night. >> So like when we receive it here. >> So like they'll keep it down there. will receive it Monday, but then I got to take it within those 24 hours. >> So then we have to reapply for it the coming next fiscal year and we'll continue to ask to increase it. But that's what it means. The only thing that this brings that Perian's desk in thinking of the donations that um the B the girls basketball team collected a couple years ago to like get rings and shirts and that right and making sure that it's uh allocated to the right fund

or everything that has to happen with that and M and I were talking talking about it. So, if we're asking for the donations for rings and trophies, it has to be used for rings and trophies. We cannot then say, "Oh, well, we had," and this did happen and not by Mr. Rand, but by the coaches, um, we have $1,000 extra, so we're going to go ahead and we're going to purchase shirts for the for the team. And even though it was used on the team because it the donation itself was asked for the rings and trophies then it has to be used for the rings and trophies. And if we're not going to just use it for that then we have to go back to or put it out there uh make it public that

is it okay for us to use the remaining balance or buying uh shirts for the the team. So sorry. So those that are donating should be specific and say, you know, I am towards donating $1,000 or rings and shirts and etc. >> So the the don the donor doesn't have to, but it's the one that is asking for the donation. So there's a form that has to be filled out. So I So if I'll say if Janice is asking for donations for um the baseball team then if he's saying it's specific for uniforms then we have to use it just for uniforms and if not we have to ask for permission to use it in other ways. Do >> you know how the county way M to move funds from restricted to unrestricted after like

a year or so? So we have to do a a cash transfer. So we have to ask PE for approval. >> I have a question. How who says that we can't use it for rings or like >> the law? >> Who says >> what law? >> If you like if you look at what's the fourth sentence the fourth paragraph. The board can make every effort to honor the intent of the donor and use of the gift but reserves the right to utilize any gift except in the best interest of the educational program of the district. Or does that mean that like >> high donation clause we have to follow that we have to ask permission to use it otherwise. So it could say this in our policy but that remember that state proceeds >> local.

So, if somebody said, "I'm just making a general donation to the school." So, then and if we or say say they make a donation for um and well, I'll use the one that we just got for the basketball team. Um we're going to donate $8,000 to the boys basketball team and then they could use it however they see fit. It's when we're saying that we're going to um raise money for specific things. So I mean I guess in sense we could tell them instead of being for >> super general instead of specific >> was that the only policy change we will make those changes and then we'll meet it back for a second meeting for um LCK80 KCD. Um next on our item is item 9 um B policy J 080 uh JF AB tuition

admission of nonitative students. Um so I'm reading this one just keep it as is. And also I wanted just to add um so uh first paragraph let's see by state law uh and district policies may be admitted to a school without payment of tuition. Um I would like to add and at the desk um discretion of the district um just sometimes there's students that are coming to our school because they're avoiding expulsion from another school and they leave just before they get that expulsion hearing and they try to come to any school that accepts that has open enrollment. I that we should have that right to say um I'm sorry but we don't make sense if they're out of out of district. So like somebody coming in from I don't know what would be the

reason to refuse them? I would say there's an expulsion and they avoided. So if they if a student has been expel um expelled and the paperwork is already in place, we cannot accept them in that state law. But if they leave the district before the expulsion hearing, they can go to any district and a lot of students do that. Um the problem with that depending on what why they were being fix um expelled for uh would be that determining factor. So if they're I don't know pushing drugs or they're um something to that extent. >> So when you when we accept new students do you do some type of check investigation or how would you know? So when we request I mean say you learned quite a bit of things lately. Um the minute we

accept their so say you come in to the school and you want to enroll we give you the paperwork the minute you turn in that paperwork it has to go to either one of our principles and they have to make that decision if you know we accept it we don't accept it or we're going to wait off to see what their enrollment looks like. Um when we start requesting for records from the other school, they usually give us like they let us know right away like hey you know what let this person um I mean especially if it's serious for the most part and then say we rarely get anyone that's that serious but like there's been some >> I have a question about the goodness of fit of this policy for what you're trying

to get out because so much of the language in here is very targeted to tuition and I know it says SL admission but everything in here and we don't use payment is about tuition and so is there a different policy we have about the admission can this is also of non-resident student so is there do we have a separate pol a different district policy on student admission that that would be a better fit for those of you trying to and I'm going to say perhaps I believe this is the Well, this is the one that we found with none residents. And I will let you know that I did when I was speaking to our attorneys at this moment, we don't have any language um in any of the policies to protect the district of

accepting students um that have without extreme disciplinary um concerns. So, we want to make sure that we place it But it mean and it may be a different one. This is the one that we uh should we create a different color. >> We can I just I don't know if we're tacking on some like if it's the right fit to I can double check um with the policy advisory um and asking if there's a different place or if we can create one. >> Then what would that describe like? would we have a rubric to evaluate student admissions at that point because we can't like >> um definitely see what we can do because I think most of like then we would state that there would be a rubric something and then usually whenever we have

>> art like something to back it up right we show with the specifications >> are there other public schools that use a rubric to grade their incoming students. >> Um, I can check. >> You're not reinventing. >> Yeah, I agree. I think it can get me nasty in here and it's not really uh the title doesn't go with what what you're wanting to accomplish. Okay. Um, Madame Chair, I ask for approval of item 10 A, the Open Meetings Act resolution. The recommendation by the superintendent. Do you have a motion? move by Mr. Bissell. Is there a second? Second by Miss Simalo. Any discussion? Um, I posted a question and should we annually state that we it'll be on the website, but should we also see social media accounts and stuff? >> So, I did write

that in here. So, you did add. So, this comes um well, it's not added in the new one, but I added it on my notes. Okay. >> Um so, um this comes to the board every year for approval. So, Miss Bissell, I was going to say that did recommend that after uh district website. So my recommendation is that to make the correct the error website one word and then to add in school media accounts. >> What paragraph is that? >> Um paragraph please. >> Well a couple 23. It's 235. two. So, we just I just copied the language that you put on top. So, I um I guess I asked for approval with the changes that were recommended adding and school media. Okay. Two paragraphs two. What it mean? What is it? School media or

social media or social media or social. >> It could I don't know. I'm not social media. >> I guess we could say school and social media or school social media account social media. Any any other additions or questions or comments? So, we will do roll call to approve the open meetings act resolution with the changes. Um, you can roll call, please. >> I will try. >> Mr. Jason, >> yes. >> Must. >> Yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant. Yes, Missaga. Yes. And Miss uh Madam President, I meant how you say this. >> Not you, it's just us. Yes, I'm learning. >> No, no, you're good. Okay. So, motion carries to approve the open meetings act resolution with the changes. >> Um Madame Chair, I ask for approval of item 10, LCB 2600. Um this is the

second reading. Uh sorry B 2600B GB policy adoption. So this was the one that we um the way it was the language was before that um community students, teachers were um polic adopting policy directly. So we change the language on that. >> Do we do the approval correct? Oh, sorry. So, you heard the recommendation to approve the um to approve the policy B 2600. Is there a motion? Motion to approve. Moved >> by Miss Bissell. Is there a second? I will second. Second by Miss Grant and open for discussion. You're correct. So, with this one, um, anything that was in yellow was the new text to be added and anything that was in red, um, was text that was proposed to be moved. Um, within our Q&A, there was a a recommendation to put to

not make it so I can't remember what the word was. Clunky, clunky. when you tried to read it as like what are we saying here? >> So it's right to read uh during discussion of policy proposals uh changes may be made if the proposal has a significant impact on the public or staff. In such cases the board may take additional action to follow further public and staff input. Changes do not require an additional review unless the board determines that further study is needed and that an additional review is appropriate. If applicable, the collective argument team must be notified and all parents um all parties must agree. That's very well written. Does it say that staff and um that the board is the one that is doing the the adoption or um Yes, it is. Okay.

right now that >> yeah written >> no I just when I I'm sorry I just when I was reading it I couldn't even like I I was stumbling >> it's a hard one reviews unless the board determines that British study is needed so it with the changes I guess um I make the recommendation with the changes that were placed in the Q&A Okay. >> Does anyone want to Does everyone see you need to look at it? So then um we will do a roll call to approve the um policy adoption for B2600 with the changes that were in the Q&A. >> Mr. Jason, >> yes. >> Miss, yes. Miss, >> yes. >> Miss Monique, yes. Miss Caroline grounds. >> Yes. Okay. Motion carries to approve the the 2600 policy adopted. >> Okay. Sorry. Madame chair,

board members, I recommend approval of item 10 C, the sharp uh scoreboard. You heard the recommendation to approve the um the sharp scoreboard. Is there a motion? I will make a motion. Motion by Miss Grant. Is there a second? Second by Miss Simolo. So that just basically means that we are it's we think it worthy to for discussion. So any discussion? >> So uh this the sharp score board this is the screen that I had brought to the board that we would be using the money that we had from >> T county um that we would be able to use it as a display. I mean, we can use it for the scoreboard for basketball games, but we can also use it um like for graduation to display um where everyone has to see without

everyone having to turn around and or move their seats or move all the way back that it would just be placed up there. Um they would be the ones to install it um and get it all set up for us. >> Question. Um, would it be one screen or two? One screen. Okay, that being said, um, will our current bandwidth support the use of a screen like that at the gymnasium? >> It I'm going to say yes. And if not, we can talk to our IT department. But good question. >> It's just like a >> No, I know. But I meant like it's just like one device using >> Well, the reason I asked for two I asked one or two is I was recently at the house high school gym and they actually have

two separate ones on their walls. >> So, visually speaking, we're still going to be looking everywhere >> instead of looking. >> Yeah. Um third question, what should we should this get approved? What is the plan to recycle the current uh extremely large >> uh scoreboard? Yeah. >> So we would keep the current scoreboards. We would just keep them there. They would still be utilized. You just add a >> Well, just add a scoot to >> where the pen. >> I have to go. >> It's bigger than 10. >> It's like 12 feet. >> 12 feet diagonal. >> 162 in. >> So, we would have to determine exactly where it goes. They're pricing. So, there we can do two right now. Um, are we protect how is it going to be protected from flying objects? >>

The one in Tal doesn't have one, right? doesn't have >> because I know they have they have them like at isotopes and like few people hit them and I know you can replace like the individual titles >> but are we just going to >> take a chance that no one 50 some >> I think >> I mean for example I'm not sure if use their gym for baseball like you do >> but basketballs or volleyball >> basketballs exactly both we don't use gym for baseball. >> Well, in our time >> um question. Yeah, I think what you're using. >> Um second question. Uh it says that it's going to be using the producer and the publisher app. Does anybody know how to use those apps? >> So, we would get trained on them by uh

by Shark. publisher is like a I mean you can get it on like any anything which I think that would be really cool for like the like what Caleb does. >> Yeah. >> Like with all the social media like things that he does um what he uses but you can use that and we can create like not just we should get trained on it but the students should be able to learn how to use those apps. That way they can create something of their own. Good. You could touch each other about that as well. Make sure that they would be open to to train. When I saw this, I was a little concerned about the re reoccurring annual cost, right? There's essentially a $13,000 fee to to keep it going um on the second page.

And I just don't know if we have the funds for that or do like do we have the funds for that >> because we'll have to do a service contract, right? >> That's >> what what is the annual subscription for? >> It would initially be like for service or updates or >> it says advertising annual subscription, >> right? I didn't know if some were optional or it was necessary to maintain the function of it after the second. Is this already year two? Did I check into that? >> And do we have do we have it? I never got the warranty, right? But if it's like Apple things, then you don't update comes off the le so that would be the the risk, right, with this big of a purchase, but then we'd have to budget

this money >> and I don't know if that's the best use of resources, right? >> And this is the gross the gross receipts. Yeah. >> And and that's p primarily for like I mean is there anything else the district needs aside from the scoreboard that the needs could be used for? >> So there was two there was the series of 22 that was going to be ending. So that's what we're getting our activity bus with. And then this is the 23 series >> and 23 refers to the year. >> Yeah. They were going to expire. it or if not we >> and they didn't so they hadn't shared with us that we had that funding >> account until the county >> and they and we lost a big portion so we were let's spend it

right away >> the other thing that we were looking at were uh new marquees >> however I think everybody would like a screen that is not playable and everybody has to I mean correct me if I'm wrong we have to use it towards IT equipment correct I think that's why we were looking at the monkeys and the IT and the scoreboards >> you know looking at IT stuff but >> yeah we were also looking at like at the benches I mean the bleachers um we looked at there's a couple of things that we discussed over >> the amount that we cuz the baseball fields can't taken care of, right? >> Yep. >> Oh, we couldn't use it anyway. >> And the like the track is is it may not be enough to resurface the track.

>> Look at resurfacing it like over a million. >> Turf turf is super >> well just like the pave like cuz there's weeds growing up in the trap. I think when I started working >> back in like 2018 and it cost us like almost 200 something,000. >> So it's probably then >> and I think they have to do something at the bottom because I don't think they when they laid it down and when you started they didn't there's a bottom part that they said we don't >> Yeah, I think they just did a coat on the top and it still cost much. So is this the same um screen that is at that is a nice screen size and everything that may be a little bit bigger. Would you be able to move one of

the scoreboards and put the screen the scoreboard somewhere else? >> Then we can talk to Mr. working on to see what would be the best and I we would have to have them come in as well and make sure that we have the right connections to wherever we choose to fix it. >> Where's the scoreboard again? It's the locker. >> There's the one on the side by the girls locker room. >> It's on the girls locker room. >> The girls locker room and then the opposite is >> Yeah, I know where that above the boys locker room. >> Electrical stuff. a fire a fire emergency lights and stuff >> want to go to the gym and look >> because that's the only place that a lot of >> it's it's either you cover the panther

or or it's above the boys locker room unless we move the scoreboards. >> So there so I will say there is also another screen um it's something we can I could go back to them and I can ask them if they could give us um a quote and they apologize. So, we would have to hold up on getting it approved. Um, that you we could put them away and then when we need them like for events, we could put them out and they come back in and I don't know if you remember seeing them over there. They're the like smaller panels that you put together to make one big panel and that's movable. And we could even do where you put two panels on one end and two panels on the other end. This way

we're hitting the entire audience. Mhm. Um I know we're in a time crunch for the utilization of this fund. How how much of a time crunch? >> Um the end of the year. So we have to >> So I've already requested the funds. So they're already issuing the funds to what >> we can talk. I mean I could reach out to tomorrow. I mean, I don't think it's a bad idea. I am concerned about the reoccurring fees like service contract being if any of that's optional cuz I don't I don't know if we want to do that to our future selves. >> Thank you. >> I will reach out and I'll get these answers. >> I'm all for the screen, too. I just want to know where we're thinking of putting it. >> And if

you're going to get rid of one of the scoreboards, I suggest you hit up the tribe. Maybe the tribe could utilize it. Bring back to the school. >> Is it a double as a scoreboard? Like a >> Yes, we have a double scoreboard. >> It would be hard. You'd have to have two. >> You're right. Right. >> So, we have to have double the bandwidth just because we have the both the box and the regular. Yeah. It's currently wireless. >> But how do you run the clock? >> That's a problem. >> So, if you were to keep the >> Where does the sound? >> The problem is that we just got that sound system. compatible to this. Is that you have to look into? >> We have Let me get some be too small. >>

I was thinking that too. And then just remove both >> and put the two smaller. >> That way you're loosening in both directions. You have it and you just need one operating connection with current subsystem and if we have extra funds if we can make it alternative full%. Then I ask oh ask um madam chair board members I ask that we if we could table item 10C and bring it back to our next board meeting with some updates for um some of the questions that were presented today. Very good questions coming by. So then we vote to table correct. >> Yes. Okay. So, you've heard the recommendation to table um the approval of the sharp scoreboard. Is there a motion? >> Motion by Missaga. Second by Mr. Gonzalez. Um roll call, please. >> Mr. Jason,

>> yes. >> Miss Simol, >> yes. >> Miss Amanda, >> yes. Miss Monique. Yes. Miss Carolina. >> Yes. Motion carries to table the approval of this sharp scoreboard. >> Madame Chair, I recommend approval of item 11 A, B, and C. approve the recommendation by the superintendent to um approve the consent agenda items ABC. Do I have a motion? Motion motion by Miss Simble. A second by Miss Bissell and we'll call to approve the consent agenda items. Mr. Jason Gonzalez. >> Yes. Miss >> motion carries to agenda items. Next item on the agenda is uh number 12 and that is our board self evaluation coaching by Miss in by Miss Wanda Cordiva. And so everybody um electronically received the um the tool and it it was interesting because it is our first time. Um Miss Yolanda

gave me the uh hard copy to to record and we need the trading on it. So So, I'll let Miss have the floor. >> Okay. Thank you. Um, so one, congratulations to everyone that got inducted tonight. That's awesome. And the election of your new executive committee. So, congratulations to everyone and happy new year. Um, we're going to talk and I don't know, is it okay if I share my screen? I'll send the request. See if I can share it because I it might be helpful for me to just have the the Let me go ahead and put it up. So, I think you all are seeing the the board governance um framework, correct? That's what you see up there. >> She's working on it. >> Okay. And I'm glad that you're I mean because this

is kind of like one of the final steps in the work that you all have been doing around the governance framework um because just to summarize where you are at this point. So the entire board has received training and I know even Miss Bissell board member Bissell you were even part of that process in the initial stages. So um all the training on the framework what it is you set goals uh and I think they span 3 years if I'm not mistaken I know there's already a calendar and the board has actually successfully started to progress monitor where the reports are coming in and you're reviewing the school's performance against or the district's performance against um those progress monitoring reports and you're doing that during regular board meetings. So, you're spending a period of your

time actually engaged and talking about what the most important part is in this framework and that's about student outcomes like how are they doing and are we meeting the goals and the priorities that that the goal that the dis uh the board set. part of the responsibilities for a board member uh a board as well is self- evvaluation and that I mean that goes back eons um NMSBA has always promoted that that um boards should regularly engage in evaluating their performance and what this framework has is that it actually embeds that board self- evaluation and it's an an evaluation against your responsib possibilities to actually improve student outcomes. And so the board governance framework and hopefully what I would highly recommend to the boards is always just have that available for yourself in a notebook

or even if you have it on your computer just so that you know that you can you can go through it. And so the framework if you remember is the the pillars basically the primary areas and you can can you guys see the screen now? >> No. >> Are you sharing? >> Share it again. >> Let me try it. Let me try again. >> There we go. It's going. >> Okay. Now it's going right. >> There we go. >> Oh, there we go. Okay. So the framework and hopefully you all remember this because this is what we train to but the framework basically has all the areas that you evaluate yourself in. And each of these sections if you recall goes from like ineffective to highly effective. And the goal of board evaluation is to

come and do this at least three times a year. You know quarterly is is uh recommended. I did send out the schedule to board President Grant so she can see like uh I think this first one goes January, February, March, April, you know, there's a cadence to it. But essentially what the board does as a team is you decide how well you're doing in these areas. And the purpose of it is not just to say and give yourselves points, but to actually focus on the areas that maybe you still need training in or you want to work on for the next quarter so that you can move along the rubric. And so in the first set, it's really about the focus mindset and that's really about the commitment to continuous improvement and how well you're

doing. And the way that the rubric works is you start on the first column. If you haven't done any of these things, you can't move to the next one and to the next one and to the next one. And so what I will say for this particular board is that you all have received knowledge and skills related to the to the framework. So you get to click that one off. The board has demonstrated the ability to distinguish between inputs, outputs, and outcomes. And that's when you're doing your progress monitoring. You know the difference between an input, what's an output, and what's an outcome. An outcome is anything that's related to what students know and are able to do. Your inputs are everything that you're putting in to support students. And so, like I'm going to

use tonight's example. The scoreboard is an is an input. Uh it's something that you're putting in place there. I loved the questions that were coming up because there was a distinction between technical and tactical questions understanding what the heck is the scoreboard do, how does it work, but also the strategic questions. I heard one about, you know, is it going to provide an opportunity for students to learn something about uh the technical use of it because maybe it's a STEM opportunity for a student. That was an excellent question. was also an excellent question on the strategic side to say it's a sizable investment that's in a commitment that we have to make on an ongoing basis. Do we have the funds to do that? Because I think you know as a board if you fund

that you have to not fund something else. So, so I think you're demonstrating the distinction between that and um the board has not conducted a self self- evaluation during uh the last 12 months. I would say that's true. You guys have not done it. So, you don't get to move to the next column simply because you haven't done that. But rest assured, next uh quarter you're going to get to move. So, the way that this works is as you're going down this you're having to check the boxes, but if you can't check every single one of them, you can't move on to the next one. So, that means for this particular pillar, you still have zero points. Does everybody understand that? >> Are there any questions? Any questions? >> I have a clarifying question, Mrs.

Cordova. So, so you're saying that because we haven't had an evaluation in the focus mind, we don't move from focus mindset to clarifying priorities. >> No, no, you don't move just in this section of focus mindset. >> Okay. Emerging. >> Got it. Thank you. >> This is just for this particular section. So it just means that for this you're still at zero points. Obviously next quarter you're going to you're going to already have conducted a self- evaluation and I think you're going to hopefully you'll have uh the board has not evaluated. You'll do a time use study. So how much time are you actually spending on discussing student outcomes? Uh, and there's a there's a way to do that. Hopefully by next quarter you do that. And the board has not participed in governance team

trading. You guys already have this. These are the only two pieces that were missing for you on this. But because those two pieces are missing, you can't jump to emerging. Does that make sense? >> Yes. >> And it and it gives you an idea of what you have to work on, right? Tells you you've got to do your self- evvaluations. You got to commit to that. And you've got to do at least a review of how much time you're actually spending talking about student outcomes and not just on operational issues. Okay. So let's >> Okay. >> Question one. >> The evaluating the use of time in our board meetings. >> Um >> any recommendations on is it just how much time do we spend on talking about student outcomes? I'm gonna send you the I'll

send you the tool uh Miss Grant so that you'll see how it's done and you you and I can have one more coaching call on that. So, and if the secretary is that Miss Visa Monnique, if you can uh participate with us on that, I'll I'll teach you how to use that time you study. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. So, on this one, you can't move. So, we know that you still have zero points in this. So if you look at the Miss Grant has the the other document this one the focus mindset you put a zero right here. >> Are you looking? >> You can see that right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So on the next rubric or the next item is your vision and goals that the board will adopt

goals. I think here's where you're going to get some points. Okay. because the board has adopted policies about your goals and you have clarified that community vision. You have goals and guard rails. Uh the board has uh demonstrated the ability to distinguish between adult inputs and student outcomes. I think you're definitely have that defined especially when you start to look at student outcomes and the way that it's being presented to you uh with the data that they're presenting in terms of student performance. Uh the board has demonstrated the ability to distinguish between goals that are smart and those that are not. I mean your goals are smart. You you're working towards a target and you're managing towards a target. So I would check that one. And the board has hosted opportunities to listen to the

vision of the community uh during this uh previous 36-month period. I I love that you guys had those uh you hosted a big community event especially around your bond. Um, but I think you've gotten a lot smarter about that. So, because you've met all of this, you get to jump to emerging. Okay. So, on emerging, here's, you know, you've got training on this. The board has included students, parents, staff, and community members in the goal development process. Um, I think you did a good job on that. The board, um, here's where you probably need to do a little bit more. The board relied on a root cause analysis, comprehensive student needs assessment, and a similar researchbased tool to inform identification and prioritization of potential goals. I think you did all of that. I know that

the superintendent did a really good job with her staff of giving you a comprehensive um assessment of where the students are and you're using that. I really want you to pay attention to root cause analysis. I would give yourselves the points nonetheless. But root cause analysis is when you start to think about what are some of the reasons why some of our students are not making progress. We know some students are, but what's the root cause analysis and what are we doing and are our resources aligned to that? Um the board publicly posted the goals for public comment. I don't know if you did that. Um I think they're publicly posted now. you definitely uh shared them with the community during the public uh town halls if I'm not mistaken. Is that correct? >> No.

No, we have not. >> You have not. Okay. And um in addition to the goal ending points, the board has identified annual targets, goal ending points for each year leading up to the ending dates. And I believe you have because you've said 10% each year uh going and so you know where your marker is going to be at the end of the three years and the board has developed no fewer than one or no more than five goals. You guys have definitely done this because you're focused. You're not all over the place. You don't have like 10 goals. You're not trying to to to spread yourselves really thin. you're looking at things that prioritize that will give you an idea of how students are performing. So, because you didn't you you feel like there's one

area that you didn't do as well in this area, you would give yourselves five points, but you know what's going to help you jump to get to 15, right? Because you there's a lot to meet to get the 15, but at least you know you're at the five point mark. >> I have a question. Yes. Um since I'm not part of the 36 year the 36 month mark um can the board refresh me on when we included parent staff and community members and the developmental goal process that was in 2023 and I was actually looking that up. >> So in 2023 they did the strategic plan. >> Okay. >> So that's when they >> Yeah, it was kind of hard for me to answer some of these questions because a lot of it is based

on the past 36 months. So, >> and that's that's the beauty of a board. That's why boards are staggered because there's going to be people before you that came that were doing some work and it's going to always be that way. But you get to rely on the work of what the district's been doing up to that point. I remember when I first met with the team, there was a lot of work that you all had done around strategic planning, vision, setting, and it even predated the current superintendent, right? I mean, there was stuff that had gone on before then, but all of that has been really instrumental in helping you get to where you are because I think it's been refined and it's been um it's been well um organized and it's like you're

communicating exactly what your priorities are. All right. >> Go ahead. >> So, to move on to the 15 and you said we we know what we need to work on. One of the things we need to work on is publicly posted posting the the goals or public comment prior to adoption. What's some recommendation on that? >> I think you just need to publicly post your goals at this point. They've already been adopted. So, I think you just need to make sure that they're that there's better communication or that the community is really clear about what your goals and what your guard rails are. So we've put him like in the policy, right? Miss Annette, in the policy um manual. So are you saying more than that? >> How does the community know? How does the

community know what your goals are? >> They don't. >> Do we not have it in the student manual? >> It's in the student manual >> that go out every year. >> It's in all the student manual things. And then your like the >> the manual has been sent to the advisory content that we haven't heard back from them. >> Okay. >> You could post them in each of the schools. Just put a poster up. Here's goal one, two, three, four, whatever. Um you could also just post them on your website, too. But it's just like starting to make the community aware. Here's the goals that we're working on. here's what we're trying to improve. We're going to improve by 10% each year, I think, is what your goals are. And just stating those so that

the community is aware of what they are. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. >> So, actually, I'm going to disagree because our site principles have let the community know. So, when they do their like the orientation, they've mentioned it several times. Our goal is to meet the 10%. Um, so that has been our principles have let the the public know although it's not posted on our website but it has been >> communicated. >> Yeah, it has been communicated. >> Does it need to be stressed that it that it is board goals or just >> it is okay. I don't know just to I don't I I don't disagree that that principles have stayed but I think if you surveiled your average parent they wouldn't know that we had >> goals. Yeah. >> Or even your

average community member. >> Yeah. >> So we area that just needs to be strengthened and you'll see as we go down because each of these sections kind of builds on each other. It's great that you've started that work. um you know that the principles know it and that they're doing it at the site level. Um and now it's just getting really you know clearer with the community so that I don't I I can't see the board members because you guys are like little this big. I don't know who said it. Hi Amanda. I but you know it's like does does just the community as a whole know it? And quite I will say really importantly can you each state what your goals are? No, the board needs to be able to say what's goal one,

two, three, and know what they are. Um, so I think you're an emerging group for sure because you have you have set your priorities. You're in this emerging area and you're really close to being effective. So, and this is your first evaluation, so I wouldn't feel bad about it. This is not about, you know, just trying to get the points. It's really about being reflective about where you are and what you need to do. I will say I speak very highly of Pawake all the I mean Pak of Pinasco all the time because I'm so proud of how much work you all have done in such a short period of time and how much progress you've made. So it, you know, take this with, you know, this is this is your evaluation and it's just

an opportunity to be kind of, you know, honest with yourselves about where you still need improvement and it's okay that you need that improvement, but make a commitment to do it. Okay. >> So, we're a five in the priorities. >> Yeah. Five in priority one. And then in priority two, which are your values or your guard rails, I think again you're in this emerging area cuz you guys did do that. You I think you had set some guard rails based on what the community said was important to to keep. Um, you included that was still again you you listened to parents, students, staff in the community when you were in that process and you worked on that in in partnership with the superintendent. Um, and that you know that each guard rail describes a single

operational action or a class of actions that the superintendent may not use or allow in the pursuit of goals. I think you guys were really clear on that. And again, you didn't you didn't go to more than than five. And the last part is just publicly posting those guard rails for the public to also understand that in pursuit of our goals, these are things that we're going to protect. Um, you were real clear on those. Um, so I think you're still emerging in this. you're really close to being effective and jumping into this next area uh where you're going to be able to start thinking about the next steps that you need to do out of that. So another five points. >> Miss Corta, may I ask a question? >> Sure. >> So my So

I know our goals are I think we we have five year goals. The time frame for like input is 36 months. What kind of cadence would we have to kind of to go back to the community? Would it be at the five years? Would it be before the five years end to say this is what the board's been working on? This is where we at. Is this, you know, just to to touch back base like what does that look like? >> We've already met some of our goals also. >> We're exceeding. >> Yeah. Yeah. Exceeded. So I mean and that's a really important question uh board member because the whole purpose of this is and I remember saying this early on when I was training you all is like community engagement is not a oneandone.

It's like really having that cadence. The next section around progress monitoring is kind of part of that because you're you're holding your your district accountable. you're looking at those goals and you're re-evaluating where you are and you know and how well we're doing. The most important part of this is that the goal is calendared to be monitored. On here it says at least four times per year. I put a caveat on that with our smaller districts because you all just don't have the resources to do that. But if you all have made a commitment, I believe to do it uh based on the 90-day plan and they're coming up to you at least three times a year. And so so you have a really good cadence and that's the commitment in terms of that accountability.

So, we're going to talk as we go down through the through the rubric, you will see board member uh this aware that that commitment to just how you communicate your results and how you engage with community because you're absolutely correct. There has to be part of the role of the board is to make sure that you're also engaging with the community on an ongoing basis. one to that to make sure they understand what the board's priorities are and to remind them that you set those priorities based on what they said was important and number two you're actually monitoring towards that and you can share what the progress has been and thirdly you're getting opportunities or still continuing to give them opportunities to give you feedback especially at the end of like a cycle like how

well did we do you know are we doing you you know, just really being able to get engaged with families around important decision making and also letting them know how you're aligning your priorities uh with the with budgets and with policy. Okay. So in monitoring progress I believe you guys have jumped into the emerging category as well because you've got the training the superintendent and their team received training on creating effective reports. The superintendent is working collaboratively with the board leading uh to lead the monitoring calendar in the development process. Uh the board's monitoring calendar spans the length of the board's goals. Um I know you worked really hard on that. And I I this one I wouldn't worry so much about because no more than two goals are calendared for monitoring per month. You

guys are not doing it per month. You're doing it on a different cycle. So this one doesn't really apply to you. So I just I give you an NA on that one. But every goal is calendar to be monitored at least three times per year and every guard rail is calendared to be monitored at least once per year. So I have not heard you yet on your guard rails. it's too soon. But superintendent, it's just like that annual review of like how did you do on the guard rails? What were some of the challenges? But what were the opportunities? What worked really well? And um there's a there's an area here where I feel could there's a there's an opportunity to sort of improve a little bit on this part on how to present it.

And then the board conducted its first practice monitor session. You guys have already done all of these pieces. I think we have to just we just have to get we have to tighten it up. But you definitely are emerging. So look, you got 10 points on that. Okay. The any questions on that section at all? Can I ask the board how do you feel about the progress monitoring when the reports are being presented? Um, has it been helpful? Have you learned a lot? What's going on for you on the progress monitoring reports? >> Compared to years prior, it's a there's a whole lot more data that's being presented than previously. So, it's nice to see the data. Um, we've asked to include um previous years so we know like where we where we were. Um,

And now that data is starting to to become available to us uh as we're evolving as the print site principles are are are delivering their information to us. Um so it's it's it's greatly improved from years prior. >> That's good to hear. Any other comments? >> As somebody that has doesn't have a you know a back history of previous years, I think that the these reports are are exceptional. Um and you know the site principles have excelled in in reporting and have set a pretty high bar for themselves moving forward. So it's been you know really effective. >> And so as a board member, you know, if we go back to the training and they say that the only reason you exist is to improve student outcomes, the progress monitoring reports become that. It's kind

of like where the information rests, right? It's where you get that opportunity to really understand, you know, how it's all coming together and that's where you get to hear like how professional development is improving or, you know, the various inputs that you're funding to support the work of the principles, the teachers, and the staff. All of that work, it should all come together in the progress monitor reports. And superintendent, I just I just want to say, you know, how proud I am too of how you've led that conversation because I think you've done a really good job of pulling it all together and presenting it for the board. Um cuz I know when I saw your first monitoring report, I was like, I know something about Pinosco students now, too. And that was that was

pretty phenomenal. >> Thank you. So you get your give yourselves 10 points there and just kind of think you know in this next evaluation what's going to move you into effective focus here uh because these are all the things that you'll need to do uh to be considered effective. So the next section is aligning your resources. So again, I think you guys have jumped on I don't know you're between ineffective and emerging because there's still some areas here. Uh I know that the board uh your policies you're still kind of going through some of your policies but has not adopted policies about goals that clarify uh you have I mean I'm not sure that you have policies about your goals except in your in your uh pol in your board manual. Correct. You did include

the the goals in there. Correct. Board residents. >> Okay. Okay. So that's so that's done. So the board has you you know that uh I think you're definitely have done so much better around demonstrating the ability to distinguish between your work and the superintendent's work. Um it's I I saw that tonight. Superintendent, I loved your report uh because I think it really demonstrated a lot more restraint in terms of like here's what I'm reporting on and here's what we're talking about and it didn't just kind of turn into like a circle on a bunch of stuff. Um that was really strong work. Um let's see. The board has adopted policies about governing. You've got your governance manual. You've done that. The board has adopted policies about delegation that established the board's relationship to its uh

direct reports. You've done that too with your governance manual and u any board member vote on an item which they had a conflict of interest. I think you guys are doing really well. So I I think you have moved out of this this ineffective to emerging. You guys are in this emerging category. The boards received training on aligning time, talent, and treasure resources with your goals and guard rails. You've received the training. The boards received the training on how to use policy diet to make board policies transparent. You're not quite there yet, but you're starting to look at your policies and making sure that you're not just adding policy for the sake of adding policy, but taking a real close look at them. Uh the board members agree that uh the board has committees and

their only role is to advise the board, not to advise the staff. You guys have become really good at that. Um and here I'm not sure the superintendent evaluation instrument only includes sections regarding the board's goals, guardrails. Um you were still working on this part, correct, board chair? Um, so this is where we need we I haven't talked to Miss Gonzalez about it yet, but yes, I was actually going to put that on for future agenda items. >> Okay. >> And um have a discussion about about uh having the superintendent report on how she's doing on the guard rails. >> Okay. But I think you already had started to develop the rubric, correct? >> Yes. and agree on the rubric. So, I think you are still here in this section as a result of that

because you do have a new board member. You need to bring that up to speed in terms of knowing the rubric and all of this work. So, there's still some pieces in here. So, in this section, another five points with the goal to work on these other, you know, these other areas so that you can move into becoming effective. Um here's for Amanda. This is your section on communicate results. Uh this is where um you know the board leading with transparent transparency and interacting with stakeholders in pursuit of the goals. Um some of this doesn't apply to you because you're a smaller district. And so I I'm going to take you off in effective and say you're emerging here. But pay attention to some of these pieces cuz you you have policies about goals. You

have your community's vision because you guys have a vision, mission statement and all of that. Um, you know that I think you're still emerging. Some of you I think are really good. I've seen it change and distinguishing between customer service issues and owner service issues. This is just knowing when to not get engaged, but to really push it off to the superintendent to solve because you're not you can't operate. You can't you can't do operations as well as she and her team can. So, I think you guys have come really good. There's a lot more trust. I can hear the trust that you guys have developed just over the last um four months for sure. Um, this one you guys are not doing because I know you're not receiving your final version materials, you know,

are Oh, you are receiving them at least three days before the meeting, correct? For sure. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you guys have already done that. >> Um, >> Sunday. >> It's not all the time though. So, it's still an area that you still need to think about because it's going to help you to make decisions um to just be better. So, I think you guys are still at in between these two. I I can't take you out of some of this because I think there's still some administrative pieces that you need to put together. But again, remember, you guys haven't been doing this very long. So, you don't don't be sad. Don't be sad. you know, just know that you're making a commitment to getting better. So, I would still give yourselves no points

in this section because you want to be able to be really clear on your administrative processes because your administrative processes also are helpful in how you interact with stakeholders and how you transparently uh communicate results with stakeholders and with the community. So, this one would be a one. >> I'm still at zero. >> Okay. So, how many points did you have total? Those were all of your sections. >> 25. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you know, there's work that needs to be done. When you take a look at this evaluation, the next time around would be in April, between April and June, cuz this is how the quarterly self eval go with the goal of wanting to move in each of those categories each each time. And so I think you know what you need

to do. Is there anyone on the board that disagrees with with the point system so far? I had put us all at zeros. So you did better than I I do have a question though. Uh Miss Yolanda is as far as having discussions about um this is what we we we said we needed to work on. um just emailing and sending just keep in mind this is what we're what we're working on towards. Um and then having do we have discussions during board meetings or do we set a time aside to do that? How are we going to communicate with each other to um to talk about what we need to work on? I mean just like reminders and what are we like community engagement? I know we could probably put that on a as

a an agenda item, but would we do that for everything else? >> Well, >> I think I think that's still like in that whole section where it was around your administrative processes and, you know, your communicating your results and just your communication. I think, you know, there's probably still some room for you all to think about how and when those kinds of things need to occur. I can give you examples. So, for example, there are some boards that will use um and I know it's hard for all of you because you all are working people. Everybody on your board works, but they have set aside like every other month or once every three months they do just like a workshop, just a workshop session. It's just the hour before the board or an hour after

the board to say we're going to talk about this stuff specifically and you know it it's really about board uh development, the things that you guys are doing as a board. It could be a time that you also are reflective of like, well, what sessions did you go to at NMSBA? Was there something that you you heard that maybe we should consider and bring back? And it's not necessarily something that you need to put onto a regular agenda. You still need to be in a quorum, but it could be that kind of a session that you could set up for yourselves. It just depends on what works best for you. Um, I know your agendas are very tight and your time is very tight, but um, I I would never be able to make that

decision for you. Um, as your coach, I could only say it's important to have that conversation, but you all need to determine what works best for you. >> Thank you. Um, Yolanda, when posting the our the superintendent goals on our like our website, would it be should we just label it as superintendent goals or do we want to label it by something a different name? >> It's the it these are the board's priorities or the board's goals. So, I would highly recommend um what what I would do, superintendent, is maybe take a look at um some other websites with other boards or other school districts. Um TRC comes to mind because they just put up their whole plan and I can send you a link to that. I'll send you a let me send you

a link to some of the websites. That will be my homework. Thank you. I appreciate that. And then we'll make sure to get that posted. Can you send me copy that please? >> Yeah, I will send it to both um uh superintendent and board chair like I always do. I whenever I'm sending resources, I generally send it to the board chair and to the superintendent. >> And then you also recommended so we could put these like on a poster size and then um put them on the school size. Mhm. I know for APS when I was there, we actually printed out, we had each of the schools uh printed the goals and the guardrails and they were posted. They they didn't so much do the guard rails, they did the goals for sure. Um the

guard rails are are are a little bit they're a little bit unique because it says all the things that you should not do kind of thing and or that you will do and they could be misunderstood. I would highly recommend the goals for sure. Um the guardrails are definitely something that the board is is holding the superintendent accountable to and just making sure that in pursuit of those goals that you're you're not kind of bowling outside of your lane, if you will. Um so I highly recommend posting the goals for sure. >> Um Yolanda, I have a question about posting those goals. I know we're going to our process to post them within the school district. However, 50% of our students parents never step foot in the school. Um I see it's my theory anyways.

Um what about how what are your thoughts about posting in public areas in the communities? Have you seen that done in other school districts? >> You know, I haven't specifically seen that. Um there's nothing to say that you couldn't. I mean, um, for example, we collaborate with Pete Grease a lot and we have our students go down there for tutoring and stuff like that. I mean, it might be something super. >> Yeah. Um, I can also send I mean I'll have to let me take a look at um trying to remember what Ruie Do because I know that they put some they put some like communication pieces out. Um they were they were really interested in developing um uh like a flyer, you know, that the community could see. I wonder um thinking about you

know it's basketball season a lot of people who we don't have students are coming like that would be a good place to to make it visible >> and like spring festival a lot of that pulls a lot of people and I don't know if there regular communications like when report cards are mailed home >> right that could be like >> like part of the the letterhead so to speak like this is what we're working towards just >> yeah where this is what we're working on. This is where we're at. Join us at our next board meeting to to keep learning with us. >> I do think it's a that we don't just do like social media or it or like web- based stuff because a lot of our uh parents and community members aren't on

social media. So, I think you know taking it back to the >> pre pre-technical >> to the taking it back to the paper be beneficial. A lot of people like to get that in their in the mail sometimes. >> Yeah. Well, you know, and I will say a lot of that is you all know your community better in terms of, you know, how they consume information. Um, and and you're it's never going to be perfect. I I will say for example in the community that I live in as part of APS my community is made up of predominantly a really high migrant population immigrant population and Spanish speaking population and even though all of those things are uh stated in in in both languages in several languages because we have had it in several they're

posted in the school I don't know that every single parent is aware of those or knows what's what's happening. Um, I do know just listening to my grandchildren because my stepchildren have their kids in this district in the schools and when I talk with my grandkids, what I find really interesting, especially with my youngest one, she says, "You know, Mima," she goes, "Guess what? I am making so much progress in my reading. I have gone from this to that." She knows her goal, which I found really surprising because to Mia it was really important because she was not doing well as a reader. She was struggling. Oh my gosh, it was tearful tears all the time. She was sad and now she is like I don't know the, you know, something just clicked and she's

like a whole new student and she loves reading and she loves being able to talk about it. So, I love that it was um that it was linked for the student, too, so that they also know something about their performance and how well they're doing. Um so, that was like my first indicator um in terms of like something that was unique about um how it was, you know, how it was coming home uh with not just the parents but also with the students. So, it's going to it's going to come and it's going to show in different ways. I think if the school's got a goal around, you know, what they want to improve and everybody's working towards that goal and there's a lot of energy and there's, you know, there's a culture around that

learning piece of it, I think it catches fire, it does take a while because like I said, Mia, this she's a second grader this year and when we set these goals, you know, she was just stepping into school and it wasn't working out for her very well in kindergarten first grade. You know, it's this year where uh things kind of clicked for her. So, um you know, that's that's just like a personal story of how I can tell you how it was different. But I'll do a little bit of homework for you, uh superintendent, board chair, to find some samples of how, you know, they're they're sharing it with the community. And maybe that's a workshop for you all too is to start thinking or even just individual board members start thinking about how am

I part of that process of sharing what the district is doing? Where do I show up in the community to engage and how do I also impart that information? >> Thank you. Oh, and I promised to send the time use tool. And so, um, I'm not and I told this to board chair grant. I'm not done with you guys yet. So, I I I've already submitted my my bill. I I believe that you all did pay your first portion already. If I'm not mistaken, correct, superintendent. I think you guys paid that like last year. >> We did. Yeah, you did. So, I've been billing just to CES because we had the agreement that you would pay the first half and that CES would pay the second half. So, >> yes. >> So, so I'm still

I told Mr. Chavis that I'm not quite done with you all, but I'm not worried about it. And so, I just want you to know there's a couple of things that I still want to do. I'm going to observe um a couple of more board meetings and give you feedback. I'm going to um uh with board chair if I could meet with you one more time and we can talk about the time use evaluation and how that goes. And if I need to support just that final conversation on the superintendent evaluation, I will do that as well. and and Miss Gonzalez did actually show me um her her report on the guard rail evaluation. So, I'll I'll I'll share that with you. >> Okay. So, as I I love you guys and I'm so proud

of the work that you've done. I can't tell you how often I speak about the work that you're doing and I've recommended you superintendent to the other superintendents that I'm working with. So, if you get some phone calls, I think you have I know you've got >> Yeah, I was to say you've probably gotten some phone calls from some of these other superintendents. So, um I do want to wrap up, you know, those pieces, but I'm still available at least for the next couple of months. >> Well, we appreciate you, Miss >> Thank you for everything. >> It's been great. It's you guys just should applaud yourselves because you've done a wonderful job. It's wonderful to see how well organized it is and the work that you've done. So, and to any of the board

members, if you want to reach out to me in the next couple of months, feel free to do so. I'm happy to answer any questions or review, you know, help you get prepared for like the next progress monitoring session or whatever you need to do. Um, I'm available. You can call or text me and um board chair Grant has my contact information. So I will sign off now and let you continue with your meeting. >> Thank you. >> Good night. Lord 123. 13. Sorry. So, madame chair, any items suggested for future meetings >> down here already. Um, also I don't know the board manual review. Did you do that? >> No. No. that was um I thought that we had to go over it with new member just as a follow through with new members

or and and Yolanda said we we didn't need to do that. So we can scratch that off. >> I've got it. I was making notes on it. So maybe you and I can just get to that. >> Sure. Sure. That's good. >> Yeah. I didn't I know I misspond sign the paper and I was like but I haven't read all of it. at this point a lot. >> So, I'm getting that. >> You also have a policy K0850. This is the >> Yeah, with the changes. Open your first uh second reading. There's a policy that I came across looking up how to do the um nominations for for the officers and it's it says that there are a uh seven seven board members and other stuff in there. So that one get it was voted

on like a while ago like 12 years ago by the district to go from a 74 to a five number >> when it was voted on to go from a seven to a five on the policy because the one that's on there said seven. >> Yeah. I believe it's like multiple, right? That makes sense. >> Yeah, a lot of districts did that. >> I mean, I remember voting on it like if you know the ballot thing that's >> 2013, I believe >> and then the I don't know do we have to have a discussion about the student achievement? >> Yes, finally. So that we need to put that learning lens of student achievement awards. Um that's from the NMSBA. >> Oh yeah. Um guess as a a question mark is theou with c. >> Can

I suggest we talk about another update with the new school? >> Yes. I don't know if this would be part of your board report or part of the monitoring. Um I'm just curious how the capstone projects are going since the first year they're supposed to be they've been working on it right since the beginning of the year. So it' be nice to hear what they've been doing and class like class time they've been dedicated and yeah what they're where they're at. Right. Because the the freshman started this year. Is that right? >> Yes. Not sure if this is again I'm still learning here. Um I know some of us are going to the February conference. Would that be the appropriate time to speak about you know any updates or or like Miss said is that

something we're going to do differently? Well, I think what she was saying is like when we have a a workshop, let's say we're going to talk about um where we're at with with one of our goal or one of our evaluation and the evaluation tool, we add on what we what did we learn at at one of the conferences. So, that would that would be good. I mean, if if the board wants to do a a workshop, that would probably we could say 30 minutes, >> 30 extra minutes after after a board meeting. I mean, it's still part of the board meeting, but so uh what would we call it? Um workshop. >> We usually call it debriefing. >> Yeah, debriefing of conferences. >> But that wouldn't it wouldn't be part of the board agenda,

right? It' be after, right? >> Well, being that it is we >> that no decisions will be made if you know >> it wouldn't be closed. I mean, it would still be an open meeting, >> right? It still be a meeting. >> I don't think you did the ones when we went to like for like the >> retreat. That's how you would phrase it is like a board retreat workshop >> but they were still >> debriefing a debriefing of the VA conferences. >> So would that have to be recorded on board with you? She's like, "What?" She's like, "Trying to work." >> So, right after the workshop or during the workshop, >> sometimes we've had a workshop before or after. So, just depending what you guys want to do or another day. >> Well, I

would think it would still kind of be like what we what we had here because this board stop evaluation was like a workshop. So, it still needs to be on the agenda. So we would put it for the next >> for the for the agenda >> um debrief of >> debrief of >> NMSBA. >> Can I make a suggestion? >> Oh my god. And if there's not an executive discussion >> so it's not so long. >> Yeah. >> And then you said that too. So for the February one, I'm going to ask if we can do it online. both missing it and I will be at a training seat. So, what's the date again? February 17th, I think. February 17th, we'll be at the NMSA training. >> What What is that? >> Yeah. budget. >>

We're like what? >> The business budget. Yeah, the business. And then >> sometimes they have like a section for board members to go to that one where you just have to sit through all the wonk and learn and like try to absorb it. I did it once. It was really interesting. >> Where is that? >> School business officials. So we got it online. I know you want to said only do it online if you really have to do it online. But if we're missing I won't be there three. You won't be there either. >> No, I said three. I don't know that. >> Not yet. >> Take notes. >> Are you available at all? >> Well, I mean, I should I mean, I was going to make it work to be here physically, but there

need to be something. I can be here. I just leave. will the four of us be here and then I mean you guys online. >> So who would run Oh yeah that that part. >> Okay that train with you. Well, online >> to use it. Okay, we'll just have to do it online cuz our operator won't be here. We're in business. Do we ever have to state why it's online? Do we have to mention that? >> We have in the past and we could like in your welcome you could state why >> because you did say to keep it minimal. >> Any other suggested items? Oh, that was I wanted to ask if um if it's just a given that the week before um the agenda is being made up that I don't need to

send the reminder if you want anything added to the agenda or do you got do you want reminders if you have anything for the agenda? >> You can send a reminder. >> Just go ahead and send a reminder. Okay. two days >> for the next year of the conference. Um we will be at the conference at the we won't be able to come to homecoming or what time does homecoming start? Isn't that the week? the same weekend. >> It's the same day. Y >> Saturday >> from 11 to 8:00 p.m. that I have here. >> Oh gosh. I mean by middle school it's >> so according to our post online we also have a event that night 1981 boys basketball team will be presented with something >> maybe I mean because I think it end

at 12 so maybe we can end a little bit leave a little bit early to make it sorry >> I I >> I could stay till the end if need be cuz I do have other commitment that afternoon. >> I So I didn't realize that they were going to be but then they were invited to be there. >> Who's playing starting at 10? >> What team? >> Oh, I'm trying to pull it up but my internet's not working. It's not. >> It's usually gonna I don't know why they move it up because it's not just that game. It's another Saturday in the morning. >> Oh, wow. >> It's on the It's on the school Facebook page. >> Um what Mr. Null is saying is that they're we don't want students getting home so late, especially

when it's the JB play first and then uh the varsity the bars are getting home extremely late. Although this is mod, so it's not that far. >> Well, the schedule says 11, 12:30, 2, and 3:30. >> Is that my 11 to 8 school? >> Okay. >> Every game we have regardless on Saturday. 10 time 11. >> And this one's the the things for this for the 812 is at 3 p.m. >> What's that? The 1981 >> the Yeah, the presentation 81 >> able to be here >> even. I mean, I I reviewed the agenda for for the for the for Saturdays and we get out at I mean breakout sessions start at 11 9:45. You could leave by 11. >> Just be a little late and not too I have a question. Is is there

a um I'm assuming there is is there a dress code for this event for this? And it must be a >> some people will wear your shirts that we wear your shirt velvet Friday. So Saturday we can't how you dress down and then on Friday we wear our shirt. So we have the one with the button up and then these ones are the ones with the >> legislator is Thursday. Thursday. No, we should wear them on Thursday because the press conference attended on Thursday. >> You have a press conference. >> No. No. >> With our with our flag. >> I'm going to wear my shirt Friday cuz I'm not going to be there for these days. >> Me too. >> Ready? >> You want to wear shirts on Friday? We have two of them. We

could wear one on Thursday, one on Friday. >> Yeah. >> I like to just formal to go to the capital. >> So I prefer that >> we'll wear our shirts on Friday. >> Yeah. >> That's what I prefer. >> Patricia the whole time. >> We didn't use it. Is there anything that >> Well, while you guys are there, is there anything that you're going to talk to our representative or to Mr. Gonzalez or anything? >> Um, I'm so tomorrow I have a legislative uh dinner Saturday and I am going to be asking for funding for our special ed programs and our SC programs that we just need additional funding. So, that's my big advocate right now. That's going to start for me tomorrow. So >> I need a feel better before before I go. >>

So for us to go as a board member to go to the legislature on Thursday. >> I remember the last time I we went >> I went it was kind of like just walking all over the place. a lot of walking and a lot of talking just >> you just but make sure you're fine in at the representative or senator's office in case if you don't get a chance to speak with them at least you have your contact information there and they'll contact you >> I'll follow you >> I was going to say I'm >> all going to follow you >> because it is good to get into their offices whether you get a lot of the time they're going to be on the floor you don't get all the time >> is there needs

for goodies Um, tomorrow that's an important day. >> Governor Governor was there today. >> You went this morning for opening day. >> So, we're actually having a dinner with all with the representatives and the senates and tomorrow. That's good. So, he has his on day with all the government for like primary care and everybody's dressed in nines. So, So the last thing for the um conference, we did get governor to graciously come the room. So one last time before I send the email to any reservations you guys that are not going to be saying are you can I change your minds? Hold on. >> Yeah, it's perfect. Yes. >> Are you sure? 100%. >> Okay. Don't think about it. >> Well, when's the last I can Well, I need to send the email as soon

as possible because legislators are also calling and requesting loops. But I >> So you're saying six like Yeah. Yeah. It's no charge to the to the school. >> Thank you. That would be amazing. That's why I usually don't. I know the fire. I just have to make sure someone do that. Okay. I will tomorrow for sure. If you don't hear from me, just go for it. Okay. Miss Amanda, >> I I think I have to come back and forth, but >> I can make enough space for your kiddos and husband. >> I'll ask I'll ask. >> I did. I wanted two rooms with two beds just in case. >> I'll let you know. >> Yeah. Is the pool open in the winter? It's not, right? It's an outdoor pool, isn't it? >> I think it's

outdoor pool. I don't think it is not much of a >> Well, you know, some people are aware they can go out. >> I know. They do. The hot tub. >> Yeah. >> Well, the hot tub. Yeah. Yeah. >> But I seen the last time we were there in December, I didn't stay there, but we were there for the dentist. There was a rainbow. Yes. >> There was community. There is just reach out to you again. Um, do we do we need a resolution for that in the next meeting? Isn't that what they >> a resolution? >> No, we have to >> we have to vote on it. We need it on the agenda. >> Okay. >> To change the bank signatures. So, that should be on. >> Yeah. So, J said that we don't

have Well, this is all we needed to get some interest to get to. >> I'm going to look at you. >> I don't know. In the past, we've had to do and maybe they made the process easier, but we had to have a resolution showing who the new folks were. We just went through this with a nonprofit or anything else. So, and then had to have board meeting, right, >> minutes to back it up if that happened. >> So, I'll have you guys sign this and I will double check to J and then I will text you or I'll have her reach out to you. Do you recall the assumptions? >> I always remember a resolution, but yeah, >> there has to be a resolution in place that >> it just said that we have

to put that paper. If we do, it might be worth just doing I know she said no like or minimize but just like a quick a soon special online meeting just for that to turn it over so you're not waiting a month with the wrong bank signature and contact person. >> Did she put it in Did you attach it to in her documents? >> That's the only thing she had. No. Yeah. >> So when Patricia did it, there was a resolution. >> I think we had to do a resolution. >> I can't remember exactly, but >> who who changed signatures last time? Amanda is away. >> Yes, sir. >> I don't remember. >> That was already like two years ago. Um >> for the secretary because >> we'll find out and if we have to

have a special meeting um madam chair with that I recommend adjournment of our our meeting the recommendation to adjourn our meeting. Is there a motion? Make a motion. Motion by Miss Solo. Can I have a second? Second. Second by Miss and all in favor to adjurnn say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? No. So motion carries to adjourn at 8:42 p.m. How do I recommend that? Yeah, just that way what she said. Motion carried. Okay. Yeah, I wanted to do the roll call, but I was I didn't object but I didn't. This was a real time and those are like
