Is that okay with you missing it? And if you're talking, you're muted. I don't see her on anymore. >> She's PISD. >> Okay. trying to get it to record. >> It's It's recording. >> Okay, good. >> Are you okay? So, my read AI meeting it automatically comes out and everything and I don't know how to remove it. Is that okay? >> Yes. So, when uh at the end, would you tell it to record to the cloud so it doesn't record to your computer? So the recording is on your side, but the uh read AI meeting is on my side. >> Okay, got it then. >> All righty. I think we're ready. >> Okay, we're ready. All right. So, we will call this meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. And I'd like to welcome everyone here,
all all our board members, our guests online. And um, of course, Miss Gonzalez and Miss Annette. And let's uh just have a moment of silence before the salute to the flags. Okay, thank you for that moment of silence. And what we'll do, um, Miss, uh, Miss Anetic requested this last time, and I thought it was a good idea to mute, uh, while we're doing the pledge because it echoes and everything. But please stand while we do the pledge of allegiance or the salute to the flags. Miss Annette, you'll do the pledge or do we have a volunteer to do the pledge to do the salutes? Okay, >> I have a volunteer. >> Come here, Nora. >> Come on, kiddos. They're all sitting around the dinner table. They can >> Uber some come pledge aliance. >>
Ready? >> I'll help you. I pledge Oh, now they're running away. I pledge aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to theublic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Father of God in the state of New Mexico among the cultures. Thank you, Eliza. >> That was awesome. Thank you, Miss Bissell. Thank you. Okay. Can we do a roll call, please? Yes, ma'am. We sure can. Okay. Roll call. Jason Gonzalez. Mr. Jason Gonzalez. Present. >> Miss Caroline Grant. >> Present. >> Miss Monique. Present. >> Miss Amanda Bissell. >> Present. >> And Miss Gwen Simbleau. >> Present. >> Okay, we do have a quorum. >> Awesome. Thank you. I don't know if Miss Gonzalez is on mute. >> My bad. U Madame Chair, I recommend
uh approval of agenda as is. >> Okay. You've heard the recommendation by the superintendent to approve the agenda contents as is. Is there a motion? >> So move. >> Motion by Mr. Gonzalez. Do I have a second? Second. >> Second by Miss Bisaga. Any discussion? >> Okay, we'll do a roll call to approve the agenda contents. >> Mr. Jason Gonzalez. >> Yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant. >> Yes. >> Miss Monique Visaga. Yes. Miss Amanda Bissell, >> yes. >> Miss Gwen Simolo, >> yes. Uh, results approved. >> Okay. >> Madam, >> motion carries. >> Madame Chair, uh, first on our agenda is, um, item four, approval item of the SHARP scoreboard proposal. Um, I know that the board had um I said I would reach out um to get some clarifying questions. Uh we do have
uh Mr. Richard Martinez, uh Mr. Jimmy Armo, and Mr. Brett uh Jensen on online with us to help answer any questions that you may have. Um I do want to note that the proposal that we have here, uh the price has decreased. uh they gave us a better deal. So I want to say thank you to to Sharp um compared to the last one that that was presented. Missette, can you click on the um that >> Thank you. And part of the reason that they did this was uh for installation. So we'll like need an electrician and we're also going to need some cable to be um run. So it some IT stuff. So they took that cost off of this. Uh this way we could use it um to pay for the electrician and
the it. Okay. So you've heard the recommendation to approve the sharp scoreboard proposal. Is there a motion? >> Okay. I have some questions. >> Okay. So, we can ask the questions during discussion. We first want to see if this is what we what we want to discuss. So, I'll make a motion. >> Is there a second? So, motion by Miss Grant. Is there a second? >> Second by Amanda Bissell. >> Second by Miss Bissell. Okay. Now we can have discussion and questions. >> Um there might be vi um uh echo on Mr. Gonzalez is because >> um I guess my question is >> um would we would there be some education for like the teachers or maybe even the students so that way the students would be able to use like the producer app and
the publisher app so that way they can create some advertisements of our own and display them like during the basketball games and volleyball games and other uh events that are held in the gym. I could answer that question for you. Um, so I I'm Richard Martinez. I'm the sales rep there along with my partners here. And yes, the we have a really good uh help desk through Scorevision, which is the software that runs the board. Um, there are several trainings that that they uh provide. You know, there's years of service built in. So, it's not like it's a month of training and you better hope you remember everything. No, they're there to support you as you go along. Um the training is really great and in-depth. In fact, um you guys may know we have
one of these in TA already and um they've actually even the elementary kids run the scoreboard a lot of times, believe it or not. Um of course, we know how easy kids adapt to technology nowadays. Um and this is basically run off an iPad, so it really speaks to what they know. So, there's a lot of in-depth training. We definitely recommend, you know, training staff, training students, um, you know, anybody who's involved in the sports right now or other things. Um, I was looking on your website and I noticed you have who spilled the tea time. That would be great things for you guys to have displayed on your board when the appropriate time is to really showcase your students. um you know your stuca students are really doing a lot of things and I
think this technology is really meant to enhance what you guys are already doing. >> Um >> and if I may uh Richard I'm going to add a little bit to that. So one of the big things that we would like to do is we want to make sure that our film um CTE class has the training for this. this way they can also uh use it and present some I mean it's all about film and creating um advertisements all of it and this would be an an opportunity for them to learn and I guess apply what they're learning in the classroom and put it on onto the our screen >> right and to kind of and my name is Jimmy Armyo >> to kind of echo what what they're talk what Richard and and and
Michelle is talking about we can actually help work with you guys to create some kind of it doesn't have to be a curriculum based but some kind of a process of of of that and what's going on and what other people are utilizing. So to answer your question 100% yes training is included throughout the pro life cycle of the product. So as long as you are looking you know for that for that period as long as you're looking to train and if you get turnover say there's a new person there or whatever it is then we start training all over again for those people. So, um, one of the reasons and going back to what Michelle said about the cost, what we what we understood, you know, there was a certain budget amount and we
I went back to our people cuz we are the manufacturer. We are sharp. We're we're we're not a reseller, a third party reseller. We went back and we said, "What's the best way to be able to put this package together for the district so that make sure that they're we meet within their budget, but also include the facilities piece of that and the training that's required on that. The beautiful thing about it is that, you know, we we support tal that is right up the road from you guys. Richard Martinez is in Santa Fe. I'm in Albuquerque. I don't mind having a driving around and and and coming out and visit. Um we don't have that issue. So, you'll have support um basically from from all of us and we haven't even talked to Brett
who really is the one that that puts the sauce together for this, right? Um Brett Brett is uh one of our partners there with Score Vision and and he's the one that can kind of better explain I think um about training and how that works. >> Sure. Thank thank you Jimmy. I I'll take a real quick minute and thank you all for for the ability to spend a couple minutes with you all tonight um this evening. Um being with Score Vision, I've been here for a decade now, almost a decade actually. Uh so I've watched us grow from six schools back in 2015 to over a thousand. So um we've we've helped schools large and small of all varieties. So um to to touch on briefly two things that uh had come up would be
the training piece. Uh there's unlimited training. So inevitably uh at the high school level you will see you know staff come and go at times right uh we will train the staff before the boards are ever actually installed um to learn how to do the basis of keeping score for a game, how to arrange a game in the cloud, how to build out advertisements and display them correctly on the boards. Um, so all those things be done ahead of time and then they can be ongoing throughout the course of a year. You may find yourself wanting a refresher before the winter sports season kicks off um or before spring sports kicks off. We also have a couple things I want to point out. One would be Scorevision Academy. Scorevision Academy was built uh eight or
nine years ago um that allows us to help schools and our our educators lesson plan um for getting full use out of the video board. So the idea is that the this turns over to the students to create all the content um advertisements uh scoring production pieces all in the classroom ideally. So we do have a fully built out uh academy that's just for those scenarios. It's not it's not state blessed curriculum per se. Um but it's allowing it it'll be allow it's it's allowable in the cloud for to allow your your your teachers to implement this into the classroom. We have a number of districts and schools uh one being Yleta uh school district in El Paso where their students do the entire kitten kaboodleoodle um from production to replay to highlights to live
broadcast etc. So um we do have a score vision academy to help with that along with a advertising uh partnership program for schools that are the first time they're doing digital ad signage of any kind around town. This kind of helps you transition from banners on the walls to digital signage on the video boards to to help you ideally monetize this um you know at at a little amount or at at a large amount. And those are things that can be utilized day one or once you get comfortable with the system and up and running in month three, six, year one. Um so those are all going to be included with with the features that you'll be you'll have access to um as much as you'd like as well as the support. Our support uh
we have a fully staffed support system that sits in Omaha, Nebraska. Uh we're based in Omaha. Um, so you'll have access to support to remote troubleshoot at all times during your games. We're open from coast to coast. Um, so we're not leaving any of our customers in the lurch, you know, when it's the fourth quarter in a Friday night basketball game. So there's always going to be a support and a and a warm to talk to in Omaha. Something else that I just um I want to mention um and this is something that we had an in-depth conversation and Richard with and Jimmy and Brett um is the advertising that can go with this and um generate revenue for the district and that we can also use our students to help create some of that
advertisement for some of our um local partners um and around our our area. Um, Richard did say that he would also help us. Um, I'm going to hold him to it and make sure that we say it on record. Um, that he would help us uh reach out to to different places to see if we can get some of that advertisement up. So during uh playtime or you know when they call a break or halftime. Um, the other thing that I really like, and this is what I'm thinking when we're utilizing our film classes, someone from like right now we have some photographers that take photos of our students. They can actually take highlights of what's happening within the game and then do like an instant play. I hope I'm saying this all correctly. And
they did not pay me. >> Correct. Yes. So, uh, the piece you're discussing there would be what we call score vision capture. And that's for our schools that don't have the budget or the or the um the idea to to the funding to build out a $50,000 replay system with camera systems and multiple cameras. We have Score Vision Capture with simple cell phones or iPads where you can actually capture content um through your lens and send those clips and replays or a live stream to the video board during an actual game. So, I can show back the three-pointer highlight or a halfcourt shot or the student section at halftime. Um, all those things can be done. Uh, it's not instant replay, but it's pretty darn close where it may take for get to my cell
phone um from my video clip to the the producer app to play on the video board. It might be six or seven or eight seconds. So, it's a great way to highlight um great moments in the first half, first quarter or over halftime. So, um there's great ways to uh to do that without having to spend the money to, you know, build out an actual replay um team. >> I also want to just uh note some of the questions that um you all asked uh the last time that we met was where where would this go up and uh the maintenance of all of it and if something happens like you know somebody throws a basketball to it. So we're looking at so where the students come out of the locker rooms. So on the
side with the locker rooms. So we'll keep our original scoreboards will still be up and this will be on the right hand side of the of the high school gym. Yes. >> Above the boards. Yeah. So, I guess above kind of above where like the wait room is um or the >> Brett, I I think we have kind of a an idea of what it'll look like, right Brett? Um wondering if we can show them that. >> Yeah, if if I could uh if I'm allowed to share my screen, I have a little bit of a rendering document that would show that would show um just a rough representation of what the video display would look like. Um, in game mode, >> I don't think I have permissions turned on on my side. >> Miss,
can you give him permission to present? >> I have a question after the presentation. >> I think it's good now. I >> Okay, let me go. I'll give it to Shina. Here we go. I will share my desktop with you and excuse the clutter. >> Do you all see my my uh splash page here? >> Yes. >> Okay, perfect. So, this is going to kind of this is a brief document. I'll send it over to you um to anybody who wants to have it. But this just kind of just shows a general representation of um what the display would look like. So, it'll be customized to the school, right? So, it'll have um the colors, the logos, the branding, and this can all be changed never or can be changed game by game, year by
year. Uh it's a simple JPEG file that sits behind the actual functionality of the scoreboard. So, the day one when this goes on for the first time, you will have uh a professional custombuilt um what we call a brand wrapper that will have um you know, your logos and the Panthers icons, etc. on the video board as well as the advertising space. Here in the very bottom, it says McCormack Dodge currently. That can be changed to anything. It can be concession stand promotion. It could be yearbook sales. Uh it could be, you know, local sponsors. Uh and then this just kind of just shows you I hopefully it's this maybe that's the right spot. It's not exactly a scale, so keep that in mind. But this just kind of just shows you a Jeff a
rough representation of um wall placement, what it looks like. These are very thin displays, but they they will function as uh really good-looking video displays during gameplay and then also for all of your outside of of gameplay, you know, needs as far as PE class or assemblies, pep rallies, graduations, uh through the software piece. Uh these are meant to be used on a daily basis, right, as a tool for the campus, not just, you know, cool scoreboard for my athletic programs. Um but this will kind of show you what that would roughly look like and then also the sports that you can actually use it for. So you will have specific sports for basketball, for volleyball, for wrestling, right? So for volleyball, if I have someone who knows what an ace, a kill, and a
block is and those stats, they're welcome to break those out. It'll then correlate that um with a profile picture um and how many points they may have in the in the in the game as well. Um we also have a couple of uh uh built-in pieces that are nice to have as well as a score academy. Um do you all happen to see my Prescuit Badgers demo simulator here? Yes. >> Just show you what the kind of the scoreboard looks like. This is a different obviously a different branding on it as well. But there's things built in here. When I say a three-pointer made by the Aces team here, we'll say number 19 makes it. I can tap the accolade button which will then grab that profile picture from the from the cloud and display
who made that big bucket in the game and how many points they have so far in the game. So, these are just kind of neat little ways that that that don't take require a lot of training or know how to do, but I can recognize um you know, unique moments in the game. If I, you know, show different different pictures, um you know, it all it's it's basically cell phone JPEG pictures that are uploaded to the cloud, then they correlate with jersey number to show us who has what points and fouls in the game. Um within that, I also have the producer app, right? If I want to have kind of some of the bells and whistles running, I can also then display different content on the board, like we'll see here. I'll show you.
Um, here's an example. If I wanted to play things like the, excuse me, here, the howling wolf animation. Um, let's see here. And I can play all that from an iPad. Um, that's all coming off my what we call the producer app here. It's a simple iPad that can be at the scores table. It can be in the bleachers if you're supervising your kids. Uh, it's very easy to kind of run if you're doing um, you know, if you're multitasking during the game play. This is also how I can add those just those simple moments in the game. If I want to show simple quicks for maybe a switch animation, I can I can show that, you know, just by two taps of the iPad. And then I mentioned the score vision capture piece where
it would look similar to this. If I wanted to show that corner three-pointer, I can then actually show that replay capture with my cell phone. Obviously, if you want to kind of dress it up and make it more professional, I can get a tripod, you know, put my my camera on there and actually make a steady cam versus kind of my shaky hand um on the display. But that just kind of looks how it kind of all ties together with the branding of the school, the advertisements that will play. For instance, if I call a timeout, I'll say that the scorekeeper calls a timeout here. We'll say it's a full timeout. It will then give me a countdown out of that timeout. And that will allow me to show in case in school in district
in community branding for you know this is local community college um or you can have anything in here again in school or or community partners um for the branding piece as well. And then lastly here I'll I'll finish up and won't take more of your time. I wanted to play a quick video. This is what it looks like kind of just in the wild. I happen to be at one of my wife's games a number of years ago. I pulled out my cell phone and started filming the video board in a big point in the game. I just want to kind of show you what these actually look like in the wild. So that that requires two people and a couple iPads basically to to make that happen. So it's not a real big ask
as far as the you know staffing piece goes to it. So with that I'll turn it over back over to y'all. >> I have a I do have a question. Um I know I've seen the one that you have in TA and um I asked this you know similar question at our prior board meeting. Um bandwidth did TA have to purchase more bandwidth to be able to support this? Uh the reason I ask that is because we are already implementing um online ticket sales at the door and as well as um card purchases at our um >> concession stand. So, I just want to make sure that the bandwidth we currently have is going to support all three. >> So, >> we were talking about Oh, I can answer that, Michelle, if you like. Um,
we did have that conversation and that was part of the reason why we we we gave that delta in the price compared to what the budget was and and and and added that ability to be able to hardwire from from uh from the current switches into that device themselves. Uh the suggestion there was to actually um hardwire sorry my first job's IT so I'm an IT guy so sorry I'm a little geeky but if you if you get it what what the other part of this is what we're trying to do is bring another access point into the building too so they can run the run the um the iPads which would help with your um with your issue uh there being able to um kind of clarify that and give you more bandwidth into
the building itself. So part of that part of that solution we're going to work on there is getting that cable ran. Uh two cables. One one that uh that does the device itself uh the score vision uh we call it a score vision server. Okay that's a hardwired device. We want that one to be straight into the network. No no no wireless. And then a second one that will have a access point that'll that'll kind of clear up and and probably give you better broadcasting anyway. And the iPads will obviously need to be Bluetooth, correct? >> Uh, no, they'll be Wi-Fi. >> Wi-Fi. Oh, yeah, that's the right word. Wi-Fi. It's been a long week. >> You're good. So, we So, that was one of the questions that Michelle had brought up when we first
had this conversation and we started talking about it. Um, and and this would seem to be able to actually satisfy both issues and we can get it done under the same umbrella, if that makes sense. >> And we did um have it in here. this way they knew exactly what we were talking about and it was offered if they could come in and and help support with that if needed. >> Yeah. One of the first things we'll do, you know, once once you guys if you approve this and go with us is we'll do a site check. Uh we'll bring in um some individuals and we'll double check everything. We'll understand what electrical is needed, what network is needed, what your bandwidth is, you know, before we even put the board up. will make sure
that everything's there that needs to be there, >> right? All the pre-work will be done and everything will be put in place. Uh and then and then uh the installers will come out and put everything up on the wall. >> Excuse me if I missed it, but is is the sound included in that or do we have to provide our own sound? >> You already have sound. We will integrate into the sound. >> Okay. Miss Bissell, you have a question. Yeah, I was just I know something that we talked about in the last meeting is keeping our old scoreboards up and then what does it take to have I mean we already have like at least one or two people on the scoreboards and then if we need two additional people because I don't know
that maybe they'd be able to do all of them at the same time but I I know I would be challenged to do that personally to man this forbo and then or switch back and forth between platforms, but some other people might have a more flexible brain. So, who knows? >> All depends on how fast your fingers are, right? How fast are your fingers? >> I mean, but I guess that's a question is like is there any I doubt that there's any integration if one's having over over Wi-Fi and another one's like hardwired into the board. >> I I think what um one there there's a couple of things, right? when we get to that point, we can we can figure out the best way to do that. But there Brett had also mentioned there
is some some software that um that will correspond to both scoreboards uh so that you're really having one person control both. So there is some there's some options there. >> Okay. >> And I'll be honest with you guys based on talking to Maria and the folks at TA, the the kids are fighting each other to run the run the scoreboard. I mean, they have a list. They keep a list going of kids that want to run the scoreboard. So, uh, I don't foresee you guys having any problems. I I think the kids are going to really adapt to it. I think one of the great things about this technology, too, is it it can provide the kids a glimpse into possibly a career path. Um, let's face it, everywhere we go, everywhere we see, you
have displays and you have this sort of technology. I mean, somebody's learned how to run that. somebody's doing all these things in the background. So, this might introduce something new to the kids at Pasco and and give them a career path going forward. >> No, I I I mean, I think the idea of having um students be involved is really important if we, you know, if there's the interest, but just like kind of thinking of how many, at least initially, how many people it might take is was a question I had. And then um something else um that we talked about too is like um well maybe so looking at the ser the the contract right it's you said you we would get services as long as the length of the unit. So this one
says like what is the length? Is it five years or is it >> warranty is five years. The warranty is five years. The software in the um the uh the service contract because there's a service contract comes with it. That means if it if a panel breaks, we go out and fix it. Uh you don't have to worry about it. We take care of that. Um that's three years. and and and the and the thought process here is by time we get to years say four and five, we've figured out a revenue stream to be able to pay for those years four and five through advertisements, through everything else. And we we feel very very extremely confident that you can get to to years four and five by making making that money um in in
advertisements and in sponsorships and and everything else like that because that's really going to be our focus is really, you know, we we can run it. We can get it running. We can get everything going. Uh but getting getting people to to invest, you know, back into the school into into that sponsorship, right? Um, so and and that's that's the part that Richard and I are going to take we take that personal. So, you know, that's something that we are really going to work forward to with you guys. >> Um, and >> Oh, go ahead, Jason. >> Um, now that you were saying replacing panels, so if a stray ball were to hit the panel, um, what would the cost be to replace one of the one of the one of the panels? And like
what would be like the turnaround time to get it fixed? >> So it would be zero. We actually um the way these work is that they're not like one big panel. They're a bunch of small panels. >> Yeah. They're a bunch of small ones. >> Yeah. And so what it is is every kit has extra panels, right? So um I think I think this one come with about four or five extra panels. And those panels are basically it's just a little vacuum. You pull them right out. You get the new one. you put it back in, it goes. So, um, that's going to be covered under the service contract. Now, as far as, you know, how resilient these things are. If a basketball hits it, it's going to be fine. If if a volleyball hits
it, it's going to be fine. Now, if a kid gets a baseball and throws it as hard as they can at it, it's going to break, right? I mean, that that's that's going to happen. And and I would say the same thing happens to the scoreboard that you have now. somebody hits it with the football straight on, you know, yeah, it's going to it's going to have some issues. You know, it's going to break. Um, but, you know, we'll we'll we'll be out there. We'll be servicing it. It's a it's it's covered under warranty for 5 years. So, if a panel goes out, say, you know, tomorrow, then um then you give us a call and we schedule when to come up. Uh because, you know, we we got to get up there. We got
to get up to the area. um you'll have the panels there on site with you and we'll come in and we'll swap them out. >> Um and and then my I guess my last question is just to clarify um there is a possibility of integrating with the old or with our current scoreboards. Is that what you said? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Just to speak a little bit more on that. We do uh so score vision in general of our thousand plus customers there there are a number of of of schools that prefer to leave their traditional scoreboards in place. Maybe they bought them 5 years ago or um the scorekeeper wants to keep their same workflow going at the scores table. Um in those cases uh those schools buy what you call a score link
plus device I believe is the name. It used to be scoreboard now it's score link then score link plus. So, it's a device that actually hooks into the the traditional console um for your scoreboards that that then that device then feeds the data into our system. We then ingest that and then match it with our video board to the traditional scoreboard for things like time and score, right? Um and then things like leaderboard, if you wanted to show who has what points and fouls, that you must be able to enter on your controller, um you know, whatever variety it is, uh who had that point and foul to do the leaderboards. If not, it would just grab that data to match time and score um with the the fixed digit scoreboards. >> Um I have
a question on the under the software the SCT section. It says no handheld game timer included. And I'm just curious, do we not need one of those or what the functionality of that timer is? >> We didn't include one in that package. Um it it is um especially if we're going to use, you know, the stuff that that goes back and forth. That's just something that somebody holds on their hand and it's it's a physical button that starts and stop starts the clock. Um if you feel like that's something that you really really need, I'm sure we can work to get one. Uh but um but you know that's something and we can always add on later. Um but right now um you know we are we are going to go ahead and part of
this is include the iPads. Um that's that's not on this right now, but they'll be we'll definitely include the iPads with this. So there'll be two >> Hey, I'll just chime in. We we would we would we would throw in the handheld game timer as part of the bundle. We'll just we'll just, you know, keep that easy. We'll we'll include one of those with the with the uh server bundle. >> See, good question. >> There we go. And I guess lastly, so I I love the idea that we're going to be gener able to generate enough revenue from ads to sustain the kind of subscription costs of this. Um, you know, maybe TA businesses will be feeling generous towards the rest of the county. I don't know if you've been to Pinños, but I we
only have a handful of of very small businesses. So, um, I don't know that together they have a budget of 9,000 or $3,000. Um, but that's so if we're not able to generate the revenue, we would just pay the difference of the 3250 for those subscriptions basically or be on the hook for all of that for the the the five four and five years. Right. >> Right. But I mean, but the plan is we got three years to prepare for it. So, um, so there there there is there is a lot we can do within those those three years. >> Okay. And then I think from this the software side, it's it's kind of broken down into three buckets of scoring, production, and advertising as far as the the subscription goes. So if you find
yourself in year three saying, "Hey, you know, we've tried this advertising thing a bunch. It hasn't really taken off for us like we expected it to." Um, you can always pull that out and and not you you won't have that that cost going forward as far as the advertising piece. So you can you can kind of rightize it from there and say, "Hey, we're just using it for scoring and production." Sorry for the the the lighting there, but I you can kind of make sure it fits, you know, what the use is in that year three kind of once you decide which what what you know what you all need as far as you know a full produ you know software suite goes. >> Are there any other questions or discussion? Okay. So, um, we
could do a roll call to approve the sharp scoreboard proposal. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Jason Gonzalez. >> Yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant. >> Yes. >> Miss Monique Visaraga. Yes. Miss Amanda Bissell. >> Yes. Miss Gwen Symbolo. >> Yes. >> Uh the result is approved. >> Some um results approved to uh accept the proposal for sharp scoreboard. >> When would this start getting uh installed? >> It's a good question. um with with this approval now I will go and start um uh working on that process um and everything. Obviously I'll need a purchase order um to move forward to book the book the hardware but um with that I can start working on on that process and um and working on that. Give me about a week and I will give you we'll start sending
you dates of of when we can start getting it installed. Our hope is that we can get it installed between now and March. Um March time frame is really more more more realistic for us right now. Um just just get delivery, get get the setup, uh power, everything else in place like I said. So I'm really thinking it's going to be probably about in March, but um you know, we'll get it done before the end of the school year. >> We want you guys to have that big March Madness viewing party in your gym. I'm hoping you guys have it done by May for sure for graduation. That's my >> thinking. >> Absolutely. >> Well, yeah. >> And and I'm not going to say yes or no, but you may be able to put a
PlayStation on this thing and play on it. So, you know, that may be a possibility if you ever find yourself in the gym, you know, alone at night. So, >> hey, esports. That opens up the door for the esports team. Yeah, >> having PD while you think about it too like PD if you're doing some kind of development you have it you have the big screen to be able to utilize you have your graduation you have any kind of presentation you can have movie night and and sell tickets to movie night so that's another revenue generator right you can sell that or if the team's playing in state and you have people that can't make it out to state >> they can come into the gym and watch it there so >> there there's a
lot of things I mean don't don't regulate it to just being a few things that you think It's a scoreboard. It's going to be a whole lot more than that. >> Yeah. Honestly, the last thing it's going to be is a scoreboard. There's so many other different usages for it. Definitely. >> Right. Like like PlayStation, >> but I'll get Jason. I'll get you guys those dates and I'll start working on that for you to make sure. I'll communicate through Michelle and um we'll we'll work on on that timing. Now, >> thank you. I do want to say thank you uh Richard uh Jimmy and Brett. I appreciate you guys getting on and answering uh the questions that the board had for you guys. Um we're still hoping you know you guys are going to throw
in making sure the monitor and the concess near the concession stand also shows the game signal. You guys >> I love it. I love it. That's why we we we left you guys some extra budget there. So well thank you guys. We appreciate your time and giving us this opportunity. Um the only thing I can tell you is between me and Richard, we and and Brett, we won't let you down. >> Absolutely. >> Thank you. >> Sure. >> Thanks everybody. >> We'll go ahead and sign off. You guys have a great rest of your meeting. >> Have a great night. >> Thanks, >> Madame Chair. Um I recommend approval of item 4B. Uh this is the authorization to change account uh signers for payroll and accounts payable. So we did have you guys sign it
last time, but we did not. Um Miss Bissell, I wanted to thank you. So we did not bring it up to the board for approval. >> Okay. So you've heard the recommendation by the superintendent to authorize the change account signers for payroll and accounts payable. Is there a motion? >> So motion by Mr. Gonzalez. Is there a second? >> I don't know if there's I heard Miss Misaga second. Okay. Any discussion? Okay, there's no discussion. Let's do a roll call. Mr. Jason Gonzalez, >> yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant, >> yes. >> Miss Monique, yes. Miss Amanda Bissell, >> yes. >> Miss Gwen Simbleau, >> yes. >> Uh, result is approved. >> Okay. Results approved to authorize the change of account for signers. >> Sorry, I had to go really quick back to my agenda. Madam
Chair, um, at this time I would like to make re a recommendation for approval of item four. Uh see this is our FT FBT um agreement between owner and um design professional. So this is for our new school. Um so we you know the funding we already received the funding but anytime as you guys know when it's over 20,000 we have to bring it to the board. And um this is for the ones that will be well the design the designers uh which is uh FBT and it's like 6 and I think like 86,000 or something like that um >> millions. Oh yeah. Not 686. >> Are you talking about the total contract sum? >> Yes. >> So the 2,746,000? >> No. So we only have to cover the 25% district. So that's the grand
total between the state portion and the district portion. So the the district portion is the 6867580. So you've heard the recommendation by the superintendent to approve the architect contract for the new school project. Is there a motion? >> We're missing two pages from the thing. Pages six and seven. Oh, yep. Okay. Is So, I'll make a motion. Is there a second? >> Second by Miss Mon'nique. Okay. Any discussion? >> I guess Janice, do you know where the other two pages are? These are the ones that were uploaded. >> They must have not been included when I scan the document. Um, they're in the email from Ian if you want to bring it up or I can forward it to you. >> I have a question. >> Where were it at, Janice? >> I'm looking for
it right now. We're paying for meals and for mileage for these guys. >> Well, yes. Part of the contract with them. Those are coming in out of that. What page is that on? So, >> so just FYI, so it would have been the same with any of the contractors. I am looking, Miss Jennice. I apologize. There's so many. >> I know. I'm looking through all of them, too. I don't find it. >> I don't remember if Ian sent it to us or did, but I'm looking at my end, too. >> We'll leave it. Let's begin. >> Should we hold on our questions till you find the the pages? >> Uh, you can ask your questions as we So, >> there were a I had a few questions that I put on the Q&A. >> I
found it. I'm going to forward it to you right now, Michelle. >> Okay, great. >> You forward it to Annette since she's presenting. >> Okay. >> Thank you. So on on page uh two of the agreement it says it is it says Sanjay engineer as the name >> and I'm just wondering is that I don't know if that's a typo or is that is that his name Sanj? Uh, no. >> Yeah, they were. It's that's his name. >> Really? Okay. That's interesting. All right. >> I just sent it. >> Okay. And then another question I had was um >> his last name is engineer. >> Wow. >> Yes. >> That's interesting. And I and I think Miss uh Mr. Duran may have already clar clarified it for me. On page four, um it says that
the state is paying the 75% and the school district is paying the 25% of the MACC. >> Yes, that's correct. >> Correct. Okay. And the last question I had was um on page five, the statement owner funding share at 100% includes work on the project outside of the PSOC. Um, so if the owner or or us, the school district is paying for the entire project, what what what part what support are we getting from the the capital outlay council? Or does that statement mean that we're the district is responsible for 100%. It just seemed like it was contradictory or is it just the the language that I'm not understanding the way it's written? So, all of the language that is in here went through the state and also went through our project managers who is
Ian. Um, and none of this even gets approved without it going through all of I mean there's like multiple channels. Um, and I'm gonna say this. Go. >> I think I think the wording is a little funny, but I think what that means is anything over our um, >> rejected, >> whatever the >> 50 million or however many millions we got from the bond, anything over that is our cost. >> Okay. Yeah, that's what it kind of looked like, but I wasn't really sure just the way it was worded because then everything underneath that like 44 can't see everything those are um possible costs, right? So like if there is a the multip that multiplier um on 45 says um is that if if if the is that if it goes over or is that
their hourly rate? That's their hourly. Yeah. So if we say, "Oh man, we need more time with your design professional. Well, we need them here another 10 hours. Then we're paying that. Oh, yeah. Mhm. >> Okay. Okay. Are there any other questions? >> I I had a question in the Q&A. I was just curious and and maybe this has been shared prior to when I was on the board, but um I was curious like how many uh bids um or a response to the bids for architect firms and what stood out about this firm when you guys were like, "Yeah, they're a good match for for Pyasco or good match for the school." Like it we had I believe it was seven or eight, is that correct, Miss Jennis? uh that uh the committee um
viewed um and this was the ultimate choice um that they I mean that the committee uh voted on. It was based on I guess there was a couple of key things that everybody liked a little bit different um between all of them. They were all really good. Uh for me it was the time frame um of not overextending it. >> Go ahead. >> But that was I I'm just one person in the committee that was multiple people and it was a decision of of everyone that was on there. I was not on the committee, Miss Bissell, but I do remember reading a portion of that this specific architect has built in our area and due to landscaping and has dealt with our um architecture and our type of um what is the word I'm looking
for? Environment, I guess. >> Yep. And then they so they were all ranked. So I mean and it was presented I mean we we ranked all of them and then it was the one um then we went with so I could share a little bit of the process was you know they all submitted their the information to us. We and I literally we went through all of them and then we ranked from there the top three and then the top three we asked them to come and uh do a presentation um and allowed us to ask ask them questions um and then from there we have all the ranking and all that documentation that goes with that. And I think if you check the uh November um November agendas links, I think there I think
that's when we looked got the results from the criteria that was that was given. So if you want to look through that also. >> Yeah. No, I'm just curious because I you know I think selecting the architect is probably a really big part of the design. So I was just curious if who was involved, what stood out about them that you were like, "Yep, this is the this is the one." So when you say time and maybe that's like part of the pieces that are missing, what is the timeline that you felt felt good about Miss Gonzalez? >> I mean, it was and this was just my perspective. I mean, everyone else had, you know, whatever stood out to them. Um, and I don't you're you're gonna put me right on the spot, so I
don't know if I'm going to remember right off the top of my head, but I mean, we all we all know it's a um to get the school, it's going to be um at least five years. we'll say four to five years up for it to get done. But this portion of of designing it and meeting with all the, you know, the community and getting all that um feedback and I'm not going to lie and say uh I think it was like 18 months I believe give or take >> or the the whole Yeah. No, I imagine it's not like a >> and I will say this too. Another selling thing for me was um one of the individuals that is a part of this company was actually one of the ones that helped with
the funding. So they already they knew the issues that we were seeing with our school um from from PSFA. So they knew exactly what you know what we were experiencing and and why we were ranked uh number two I believe in number three um in the state. So they had that background knowledge which is also a selling point for me at least. >> I I and maybe I'm missing it. I don't see any timelines on here. >> No, the timelines wouldn't be on this one. the timeline for what was presented to the the committee. >> The committee. Okay. Um and in this I know and maybe the vision has changed. Um so if this is outdated information just let me know. But previously we had wanted the engineers to meet with community committees or community
whoever's interested to give input. Is that still part of the vision of this process? And are they was is that something that they're planning on doing? Was that asked by the committee? >> Yes, that was asked. Um and and I know it's kind of almost like a catch up. I apologize, Miss Amanda. So, yes, that um we uh I mean, it's already scheduled. Uh we will be meeting with them. Um well, once all of this gets approved, there's already a a date that um we're I'll be meeting with them and then we'll be discussing what dates we're we're going to plan the dates that we're going to open this to the community, how we're going to open it, um days, times, all of that other stuff. So, one of and that was one of the
big I mean, all of them did a really good job and I'm not going to sit here and say that they didn't, you know, they did their background on on Pyasco. It wasn't something that was just presented. They they looked at the history. They looked at all of that and they took all of our consideration as when they were doing the walkthroughs of what we were looking at and how we wanted the input to come from the community, the students and the teachers because, you know, this school's going to be here probably for the next 50 plus years. You know, we want to make sure that we get what the community wants, staff and students. Thank you. Thanks for taking the time to answer and to catch me up a little bit. I mean, I
did look at their website and a lot of their the projects they showcase at least are are really beautiful and would be, you know, great to see in our >> Well, they do have um and I was trying to pull up some information, that's why I stood up. Um they do have experience with building schools and building schools uh within New Mexico. Um, and specifically within the type of terrain that we had, the snow, the hot, um, and what that looks like. Um, and I was trying to look to see uh, the timelines. Uh, so something that, and there's a lot of things that come within this whole plate. uh that I also liked is the availability of um of the individuals that are in charge of it. So, um, in some of the other
ones, like there them actually being here on site or them like the parts that they were playing, it was very scattered cuz they had multiple buildings going up at the same time. And I wanted Pyosco to be the priority of what they were building and not worrying about, oh, today you're in Albuquerque and we're lucky if we see you because we're we're up in the mountains. Um, and I'm going to go timeline. So there's a couple of different timelines, but within the timeline that they presented to us, and this is with from the time that they started start um designing it to the time of construction, they were looking at by the end of May 2028. You said construction by the end of starting or actually I'm starting I'm going to say probably starting. >>
Okay. >> Yes. >> Starting it. >> No. >> Are there any other questions? >> Um I have a question. Um, how many students do we have K through 12? Just a general, just a rough estimate. >> 274 preK, um, 12th grade. >> Okay. So, this school says that it's only going to be built for 290 kids. >> Projection, they used the projections of how we go from so many years back and how how that trend line. So they projected possibly up to 290. >> And then um I have a numbers question. Um wasn't the bond that passed, wasn't it for like 50ome million? On here it says the maximum allowable construction cost was only 36.5 million. I'm just wondering where the other 20 almost 20 million is going. I know this uh engineer and architect
is taking up a portion of it, but um are they they're taking up 20 million for like the engineers and architects and the the project manager are taking up 20 million of the of our allow of our allotted funds >> and the rest of it will be for the construction workers >> in between those that are actually coming out to build. So these are just archives. >> So it's not like there's any money left over. >> Oh, no. We'll we'll use um the majority of it. Now um when I did talk to PSFA, they did tell me that we should have some funding and and this is what they do all the time. They and they build schools. um and they work with our uh pro uh pro project manager and our architects our construction
and they they say it from the beginning all the way to the end. So we should have some funding also for uh furniture because and as they stated to to us is have a new school and then take all the old furniture. We want to have a new school with the new furniture and all of that stuff too. So they did estimate all of that in there as well. Does that include playgrounds and um outdoor spaces, play areas for the kids? >> Yeah, this is just for the construction of the school. Um I they I was advised that once they start um building the school, then I can go back and I can ask for more money um if we wanted to add teaches or anything like that within our premises. Um, and then something
that uh they we did ask for them to take into consideration is like our baseball fields um and based on where it's going to be. But we want to get more um input from the community um teachers, students before we move forward with all of that as they're designing it. >> That's great. >> I guess I have a followup to Jason's because I don't think I understood the answer. So, um, Jason, you were saying that our the bond amount was for 50 million, >> right? And and right here they're only saying 36 million, right? Is the So, I guess that's the question is is already what what happened to the other uh >> we're paying part of so part of the funding is also paying for our project manager who's who's taking the lead on
all of this. I'm not an architect. So um and this was what was advice from PSFA and then the architect takes so much and then the construction workers or the construction part of it takes so much of it. >> No. So it was my understanding when we had spoken to Ricardo once we get to the construction phase we're going to have to go back and request those funds and we'll ask >> so construction is not included in those amounts. >> The 13 like the 13.5 million that's not okay. Yeah, >> thank you, Michelle. >> Yeah, I I remember them releasing it in different phases. It's just we haven't I guess the real question is we haven't already spent 13 and a half million just on the project manager in this process so far. >> And
this is only phase one. Um we were told there's five different phases and this is just phase one of it. >> Hopefully it's one of the longer phases. Well, there's a lot of paperwork that goes with it. And this what you're seeing um has gone I'm going to say back and forth when we said we couldn't find the email. That's how many emails have gone um between Janice, myself, um Ricardo, and Ian. It's there's a lot of paperwork that goes with all of it and then reading all of it just to make sure that everything appears correctly and then rereading it. Miss Gonzalez, if there is like a an error or a they left something out, well, who's liable? Does is there somewhere in the contract? >> Our project manager >> that and once again
I'm going to say and they went back and forth and literally we had email saying no, this is not there. We need to add that. We need to go back and we need to find this. Um, even this section, um, they're like, "Well, we're waiting for the PO from the district and we're like, nope, we got to get it approved by the board first." Uh, it's an ongoing conversation. It's not just this came up overnight and then they they presented it. This has been ongoing since >> No, I I'm sorry. Like I mean like in the construction phase or in the building phase or project manager who oversees the entire the entirety of it. >> So, the school district if it's their error, they would it's their their liability. >> Yep. That's why we hired
um the Ian um to be our project manager to make sure that everything um is correct. And then I I'm gonna also say he works closely. So nothing just so even though he's overseeing it, it still has to go through PSFA and they have to approve it and then they review it again. I mean I seen the conversations where some things were not there. They had to re-upload um including um us. We miss Janice we uploaded him in the in I mean they helped us. They walked us through but we uploaded him in the wrong place. Somebody else uploaded him in the wrong place. So I >> I imagine this is they're the experts at it. So they are they've done so many they know what they're doing and >> hopefully >> I trust that
>> construction errors. And is Ian where is Ian out of? >> Albuquerque. >> Okay. Is that their how do you spell that? Is is it E N? >> I I A N. >> Oh, I N. Okay. >> Okay. Any other discussion? Okay. So, we're going to do a roll call to approve the FBT architect contract for the new school project. Okay, Mr. Jason Gonzalez. >> What was that? >> So, we're going we're going to do it. Did you ask what we're approving? >> Oh, yes. >> We're approving. >> I'm for it. >> Okay. Miss Miss Caroline Grant. Yes. Madame Chair, can you tell me who made the motion and the >> I'm sorry, Mr. Gonzalez did. I'm sorry. >> No, but the motion >> it was Miss Caroline Grant motioned and I second. >> Thank
you. >> Or I I have I haven't done a motion yet. >> But to open up for discussion, you did. >> Yes. >> Oh, for that. Okay. I'm sorry. >> Thank you. >> Um, Miss Monique Pisaga. Yes. Miss Amanda Bissell, >> yes. Miss Gwen Symbolo, >> yes. >> The result is approved. >> Motion carries to approve the FBT architect contract for new school project. >> Thank you guys. Madame Chair, at this time I recommend adjournment of our special board meeting. >> Okay. You've heard the recommendation by the superintendent to adjurnn. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Jason Gonzalez. >> I'm sorry. Motion to >> We need a motion. A motion. >> Always towards the end I get really So who who made a motion? >> Um I do. I motion. So move >> Second by Mr.
Gonzalez. Roll call, please. >> Give me a second. >> Mr. Gonzalez. >> Yes. >> Miss Caroline Grant. >> Yes. >> Miss Monique Visaga. Yes. Miss Amanda Bissell. >> Yes. >> Miss Gwen Simble. >> Yes. Uh, results approved. Okay. Um motion carries adjourned at meeting is adjourned at 7:09 p.m. >> Bye. Thank you >> guys. Just a friendly reminder about our um training. Uh our shirts are good. Remember dress something nice on Thursday because we're going to be lopping. And I don't know if you guys need to know that. I guess something to say I guess. Uh, and then we're going to be wearing our shirts on on Friday. And then Saturday, um, after the first session, I will be heading back. I think there's only one session. What I was looking at, um, I will
be heading back to make sure that I'm here for our homecoming games. >> Is there an agenda for the homecoming? Like what? Um, is that who could we ask to >> There is. Um, I could I'll have Mr. and I'll send it out to all of the board members. >> Thank you. Okay, just to have an idea what time to really be there. >> Have a something to share. I will not be attending the meeting in Santa Fe. The school board retreat. Kayla is going to be getting surgery on Saturday on Thursday. So, I I'm not even going to work. >> We will miss you, Jason. I hope it goes okay for her. >> Want to make sure that she's okay. We need to be daddy first. >> We get it. I will accept. I
believe that you're being recognized. So, I'll go up and I'll accept it for you. I believe that is for attendance, ironically. Well, with that, um, you guys have a great night. Um and we will see you soon. >> Right. Thank you. >> Good night.
