011both teams are going through typical warm-up patterns we'll have more information shortly about starting lineups and we'll have a national anthem and go from there we'll be back just a few moments we'll do the starting lineups do them at midfield welcome back to the bcsc soccer complex here in columbus indiana captain coin flip going on right now um just touching base on some of the team specifics between our two opponents tonight first for the columbus north bulldogs who come in ranked number seven in indiana um after a stellar 2020 year that saw them take a heartbreaking loss one game from the state finals they return a lot of firepower on the offensive side of the ball and a veteran goalkeeping and a veteran center back core with nathiya shananda and riley schum they are currently
012201 two wins versus seymour and franklin and then a tie coming from a late second equalizer by number 14 center grove the bulldogs are coached by coach dave young in his third season conference indiana champions a year ago and expect to do the same this year for our host east olympians they are currently one in two but every match they've played has been a one goal game victory over bloomington north a 0-1 loss to roncalli and then a late second loss to number six bloomington south on monday the olympians are pretty solid all throughout the starting 11 and have about 14 deep that they can go without losing quality they're led by ilya schwartzman who's in his 17th year elias staple uh coach of the year at within the hoosier hills conference um has a
013staff with kylie stattenfield spencer udy the shutout season record holder and chloe chambers a actual columbus north alum we're going to have starting lineups and walk outs national anthem and then we'll get started welcome back to the bcsc soccer complex for tonight's crosstown clasico between the east olympians and the north bulldogs starting lineups for the visiting bulldogs on the scoreboard in goal will be zero malory gilly number five emma bennett number six ryan stevens number eight kj ely number nine charlotte lohide number ten emily ellis 11 lauren barker 14 nitya shananda 16 riley schum 20 jenna lang and number 23 claire livers four east anna limato will be in goal number two norah dwinger number three alison craig number four kathleen saddle number six kylie hatcher number eight nadia harris number fourteen maggie matthews number
014fifteen grace wiltsey number sixteen greta gabby schutz and number 31 alexis spurgeon number 11 lauren barker [Applause] number six kylie hatcher [Applause] number eight nadia harris [Applause] number 14 maggie matthews [Applause] number 15 grace wilshe number 16 gabby shoots [Applause] number 19 ruth betterly [Applause] and number 31 alexis spurgeon [Applause] olympians are coached by elia schwartzman ladies and gentlemen please stand as you are able for the playing of our national anthem thank you once again for joining us tonight please enjoy the game welcome back to the bcsc soccer complex here in columbus indiana my name is ty smith i will be commentating tonight's crosstown clasico between the north bulldogs in blue and the east olympians in orange starting lineups for north we'll have mallory gilley starting a goalkeeper nithya chananda and riley schume will start
015as the two center backs with emma bennett manning the right back spot and charlotte lohite at the left back ryan stevens will be playing as the pivot in the middle with jenna lang and emily ellis advanced ahead of her kj ealy loren barker and claire livers will line up on the front line from left to right four east we have anna limata in goal the center back pairing of gabby schutz and alexis spurgeon kylie hatcher will hold in front of them it looks like a diamond midfield or with nord dwinger allison craig stepping up as wing backs ruth federally ahead maggie matthews on one side grace wilsey on the other and two center forwards with kathleen sodell and nadia harris should be an exciting match tonight we will be underway shortly and we're off alice
016regains from north over to stevens stevens wide to low high low height touches inside i'm sorry bennett bennett plays in testing nords winger looks like we're going to have our first corner kick of the night for the bulldogs emily ellis number 10 on the ball for north and newcomer transferred in from hamilton southeastern it's family that lives in the area serves it in blame it up does well punching it out and gonna earn a free kick for east very very pleased to see great atmosphere tonight personality within the stands was a little bit skeptical moving from the confines of richard y soccer complex to bcsc that we'd lose the the touch that made richard wise so great but big crowd tonight spirited for the northeast games as always parker pulls back he's gonna look to
017play out to low hide he'll hide wide to livers livers inside so is the ball into barker barker dispossessed eely top of the box lays back to lang lang out to the left takes off balance shot deflected by dwinger looks like wiltsey's going to keep it from another goal kick and give north a throw twinger clears finds sodell's feet tries to connect with wilsey miss time north throw been into interplay feinstein federally doubles dispossessed up to harris harris to sodel soto steps over not not fooled by shananda chandra regains possession in the midfield we'll see how much of a rhythm early into the match as expected rivalry game nerves hopefully this settles in makes my job a little bit easier but also using the surface 120 by 80 a little bit a little bit bigger
018than years past over richard y field one's typically 115 by about 75 so he had five yards in length and five yards in width and that will be a difference as this game starts starts opening up a little bit barker delivers livers keeps it in looks like she's going to play in ellis flag flag goes up offside keys of the game tonight can east sustain some of north's attacks counter into the wide areas as the north outside backs get forward for north it's can they suffocate numbers around the ball and get as many players into advanced positions as possible the one player on every east olympian's mind tonight has to be jenna lang lang committed to michigan going to play for jen klein and one of my former colleagues tiffany hanson laying a candidate for
019indiana's miss soccer and a high school american last year has a very good opportunity in her last year at north ellis works the right side it's like deflected off federally for a throw maggie matthews pressed by barker barker regains bounces off ellis east controls federally dispossessed by livers gets it back finds matthews well done by kylie hatcher there tiptoeing around a tackle or in a free kick and a chance for east to get out of there defensive third spurgeon to harris regained by ely elita ellis dwinger inside the hatcher hatcher to harris harris to dwinger a little good little run of play by east looks like dwinger and sodel not on the same page shumery gains for north deflected by sodell will make her family down in florida watching the live stream very happy okay
020more touches for kathleen sodell and the final third got to be a key for the olympians bennett regains in the lang lang looks long looks like schutz is going to be a step ahead of barker there barker's going to press well done by schutz fine and spurgeon spurgeon breaks the line with the dribble connects to harris again wilty cuts inside so left footed ball finds harris good battle between harris and shananda and looks like federly's gonna earn a free kick for the olympians entering their attacking third looks like dwinger will be on the ball to serve dwenger popular name amongst east soccer historians most of the top end of the record book written by her older two sisters nora herself a fine player one of the better outside backs in indiana high school soccer unfortunately
021didn't get to participate much in this game a year ago from an injury was a all-conference performer as a as a freshman spurgeon misplayed by shinondo gilly picks it up mal gilly and for her third year as a starter for north all-state performer a year ago had a phenomenal run in the state tournament last year matthew's great ball inside to sodel looks like east has numbers up dispossessed and lane gains it back barker stretches ealy stretches odd man break four north lang steps over to the left ely sizes up dwinger fall back in lima will pick that up east is going to have to do a better job of containing lange knowing that the trends and the traits are going to be can she get back to her left foot very dominant player running forward
022at the back line but if we have to cut our losses let's push her to her right foot shenandoah wins the ball looks like she's gonna earn a free kick for north neither team sporting any really good chances thus far say the last few minutes fairly even after most of the play was in north's attacking half early on low high delivers livers touches inside left footed player here cutting inside to her favorite left foot picked off by dwinger inverted wingers gonna be a key for north ely dual sided player ellis off the crossbar lang steps over to her left out to bennett bennett in the half space looks at ely looks like dwinger's clearance may have went off of ely ref to sides give an east goal kick dual threats dual threats for the for
023the bulldogs number 20 and number 10 jenna lang and emily ellis able to play make off the dribble play a killer pass and finish from distance so um must be aware of that if we are the olympians looks like it's gonna be a throw for east deep in their corner spirited crowd tonight looks like the north student section is rocking the cowboy look um east east is going hawaiian straw hats in both crowds though federally plays long i'll let north have it for a throw good opportunity for east to step up get their lines up defending the mid block try to count her out of it free kick north riley shum on the ball riley schumer three-year starter started a couple seasons as an outside back has converted to play center back this year solid
024two-touch player good in in both attacking and defending phases shananda switches out to lohide matthews pressures well done by matthews craig on chase to livers double team well done well done by the olympians to regain that ball matthews into sodel sodell touched behind dispossessed ely picks it up [Music] [Applause] shuts very athletic center back for the olympians she's going to win the majority if not all of the foot races down that right half space in front of her dwinger getting tested quite a bit tonight as much most of the build seems to be coming down that left side bennett regain restarts play and delang lang switches to ryan stevens stevens carries forward options not on plays to ellis ellis looks to combine inside with livers east ball harris looks long sodell into the channel shodel
025gives chase shum with the ball chum back to gilly gilly clears long livers and allison craig another another good battle quality quality in most l spots great matchups tonight in all thirds of the field for both north and east shoots carries forward toe pokes out wide to matthews matthews she's with the right foot sizes up low hide lang doubles pushes down the line low height is going to regain that referee didn't like the contact i'd say play on don't want to be controversial here but he must not know this is a rivalry game there's going to be more of that tonight ellis in the hole picks it up spins out looks left no options connects inside with barker dispossessed by dwinger federally regains finds overlapping dwinger into wiltie well he plays long dwinger on a
02670-yard run gonna press shanonda chenonda wisely uses gilly gilly don't look to switch decides to concede and give easter throw deep in their attacking third looks like sydney berkmeyer is going to enter for the olympians replacing maggie matthews burke meyer a year ago an all-conference performer 10 assists four east and good metric anytime you can get double digit goals double digit assist double digit shutouts you're you're typically a top performer in the game it looks like she's got a tape couple tape jobs on her on her quads she may be battling some injuries barker fights off shoots plays the ball inside looks like east is going to pick that up allison craig with the ball craig very versatile defensive player good athlete good basketball player awesome kid brings it wide is sodell sodell kathleen sodell
027very reliable possession based player plays inside of nadia harris harris penetrating pass in behind bennett looks like dwinger is going to get a chance to size up the other outside back dwinger dangerous ball in the box it looks like federer got something on it and a decent opportunity by east good sequence there by the olympians between the craig to sodel to harris and then and then playing that diagonal ball in behind and outside back and that's where north's going to be a little bit susceptible um if they're going to push numbers forward you know as much as that's going to help them attacking that's where they can be weak in those wide areas a heck of a heck of a movement by east and and uh well we don't we can't see on camera is
028dwinger makes about a 90 yard run to get in there so well done by her well done by livers breaking pressure finding lang lang two runners ahead not sure if that ball would have went through if they would have stayed on but pretty good look lang running at the back line craig regains four east plays into sodel sodell picked off by stevens hatcher charlotte lohi being pressed by sodell little misc communication between low hyde and schum need to clean that up allowed east to press regain the ball in the middle third federally all kinds of time not sure she knew it plays back into craig craig's looking for a switching ball picked off by chananda between gabby schutz for east for north you're not going to find two kids that are more athletic that are
029going to play center back in indiana high school soccer two top tier athletes good kids both academic all-state performers smart kids that's what you want out of out of your your center backs she's going to pick this one up shenander facing the wrong way ball bounces out to north regardless spin it inside looks like it might have been a deflection gonna get a north corner new turf surface fairly uh fairly warm night we're gonna have a lot of bounces on this new surface until the rubber phil settles into the surface a lot of bouncing balls um a lot of chaotic moments ellis serves looks like dwinger doing around the near post clears it gonna win the second ball pretty good group defending by east out to low hyde low hyde to ely eely 1-2 with
030lang ely ball in dwinger's gonna head that out it's like ryan stevens going to come up with it finds finds lauren barker unable to find another blue shirt limata regains is going to allow east to get out burke meyer schum looking for an option plays inside the ely with craig on her back ball somehow bounces out and grace wiltsey's gonna pick it up emma bennett steps through that challenge regains four north well done by spurgeon we made a substitution for the bulldogs number 26 and for the olympians number 18 hallie randall for north number 26 and the donica i sophomore is going to enter and for east number 18 hallie randall it's like donica's going to play out on the right side coach dave young very high on anadonica um likely going to be a
031player that is going to replace some of the seniors in the midfield next year good two-touch player good destroyer off the ball not afraid to be physical mix it up in there barker tries to tiptoe up tiptoe around the end line and steps out of bounds heli randall a junior new to the program coach schwartzman was very excited about her stepping out to play i believe she's a basketball player and very very athletic so she's going to be put under she's going to be put to the test early it looks like especially as as many times as north has attacked down that left side she's gonna get she's gonna get tested and have her shot at claire livers and some of the north attacking players looks like dwinger's gonna push higher and play and play
032in the midfield for them now great crowd tonight bleachers are packed a lot of people in lawn chairs portable bleachers brought in to accommodate most of the fans a very special thank you to an anonymous donor that had purchased tickets for all of the columbus express youth soccer players to attend tonight so whoever you are thank you very much it is very appreciated by our fans our families okay randall restarts four east into federally federally tries to connect with winger picked off by ely good challenge by dwinger to gain it back harris looks to combine with dwinger chenonda steps through it livers puts parker in the channel contested by shuts as mentioned it's going to be tough to run by gabby schutz especially carrying a ball so um have to be more creative to beat
033her not make the the battle about pure pace because she's going to win that one more times than not [Applause] ealy reeners finds barker barker on randall parker back to ely eli service inn picked off by spurgeon spurgeon to dwinger dwinger finds burke meyer perkmeyer durando ely picks up back to randall a little bit of a pinball moment between ely and randall but schutz is gonna come out with it lang right footed chance over the bar it's gonna give east goal kick substitution for east looks like number five cami warren a senior is going to step in she's going to play as a as a target player in between the center backs of columbus north limata plays long finds federally federally to randall randall down the line connects with winger dwinger inside number five twinger
034plays long warren going to give chase to chenonda chenonda connects with her partner shume shroom to gilly it's like north has shifted to a three-back system donica and ely providing the width ellis between the lines looking for barker trying to test schutz in the wide channel parker gave enough chase and earned a throw in for the bulldogs 0-0 or nil nil 14 minutes remaining in the first half at the anfield in the cornfield bcsc soccer complex inaugural northeast game crosstown clasico i'm elated that they're playing the blue versus orange tonight i requested that a couple of seasons ago can they play blue versus orange color verse color [Music] warren looks like east east is going to have space to attack sodel touches it by low hyde and looks to switch out shananna's going to eat
035that one up hatcher screens in front of the back line bouncing ball is going to find out to barker barker to ellis ellis works right looks like she's gonna have an opportunity to ride a limata sixth shot from north um the opportunity is very dangerous besides a ball off the crossbar early on in the match easy work for lima to most of the night barker cuts inside back to her right foot training partners spurgeon and spurgeon barker craig all during the summer last year trained together um barker and spurgeon get a chance to go 1v1 craig decided she wanted to jump in on the action as well looks like north will get another corner north boys soccer players relaying how much they love heidi murphy checks in for the olympians very versatile player barker top
036of the box sizes one up deflected by hatcher hatcher clears shenandoah is going to regain and gail feels also on for north it's like chenonda tries to play low height in the corner she saves it and is going to give a run at heidi murphy ball finds barker bark barker works outside inside finds finds ely top of the box healey tries to cut back unable to do so so that will pick up danica gives pressure so sodell inside sir donica balder out there ref builder out there a little bit of contact but spurgeon plays long finds burke meyer burke meyer deflected by ellis donica picks it up finds ely haley touches around federally sodell referee's going to play advantage sodel finds federally federally in a swarm of blue shirts picked up by ellis ellis breaks
037line to to lang lang looks long looks like barker the flag is going to go up on that offsides for north frequency hey guys looks like kylie hatcher is going to restart play for east hatcher a sophomore she's going to be uh required to protect the back the back four in that position in front of them typically playing side to side looking to connect passes to the wide midfielders and circulate the ball well done by craig craig finds hatcher hatcher breaks line to federally fairly looks inside diagonal picked off by ellis ellis going to the mac next year going to play for josh rife and the ball state university cardinals ellis looks inside hatcher's gonna clear give north a corner ball state my online alma mater i got my master's degree been on campus twice
038fellow i never went to graduation he emailed me my diploma it's like lang and ellis look to look to combine short east sends one it's going to allow north to play 2v1 blank touches inside tries a near post shot saved by limito well done i was curious the dimensions of the field a little bit wider than tip in typical high school fields even wider than some college fields if many of the groups would look to play short corners i'm not convinced coach young did not steal that play from the 2008 girls columbus express team but to each throne i guess ellis serves back in shananna gets a head on it looks like he's gonna go low high low hide pinball with dwinger dwinger is going to regain it nice is going to have an opportunity
039to break just too many numbers for north around the ball shum well done relaxed negative square ball for from stevens picked off by east gonna require gilly to restart play for the bulldogs north doing a good job use using gilly's ability to their advantage resetting play relieving pressure the back pass it's always an asset to have goalkeeper that is capable with their feet and part of the modern game you gotta you gotta have more of those lang she's got danica running to the right see if she can find her she does danica combines inside with ely spurgeon and a clear but ellis will pick it up ellis touch to the right foot gonna take a shot it's gonna look a little bit wide from my vantage point six minutes 40 seconds remaining in the first
040half lang to ely healy gives the ball away to east looks like we got a pair of olympians re-entering maggie matthews is going to come back as well as nadia harris for burke meyer and warren east a heartbreaking loss monday night against bloomington south number six in the state a last second goal by bloomington coach schwartzman has to be pleased with his team's effort um low hyde's gonna take a throw deep in your attacking corner laying out to her left foot step through by spurgeon i give north another corner this will be their sixth corner of the evening ellis to take looks like it deflected off of the back of lang's head donica's gonna regain it in the wide area connects inside to barker barker not fooling spurgeon east will look to play out great
041pressure by chana east is going to earn a free kick there and shananda is going to earn a conversation from the referee free kick for east looks like hatcher on the ball east attacking midfielders step into advanced positions barker inside picked off by schutz to stevens stevens into lang lang steps over back to her left foot trying to trying to get around spurgeon roll over onto the wide area looks like a service in front of the goal mouth eely unable to get anything on it she's gonna regain possession in the corner one by maggie matthews good tackle by allison craig ellis regains finds stevens ellis tiptoes inside left foot looks like they're gonna bounce off of an olympian maybe even a bulldog limited is gonna regain the deflection unheralded piece of uh columbus north's lineup
042ryan stevens stevens does a lot of the unnoticed work she sits in she protects the back line she's reliable in possession she's able to switch the ball from one side to the other but what the most important thing ryan stevens does is she provides structure to their team and allows ellis and lang to attack um without abandon so like to give credit to ryan ryan's done a good job over the last few years and i feel like sometimes she's just doesn't get the credit she is due ely plays off of craig looks like craig took that one on the chin ellis is gonna regain combines inside with lang lang out on her left foot good save by limita [Applause] hand height ball by lang limado was able to push it over the top give north

044with it ryan stevens doing her job regains possession for the bulldogs shum inside to ellis ellis touches out to her right side it's going to look long deflected by matthews we'll see three games 10 seconds left [Music] five four three that will do it from the first half of tonight's crosstown classico between the east olympians and the north bulldogs are nil nil [Music] north held an advantage 10 shots to east one but none beat goalkeeper anna limata so we're going to take a break we'll come back in a few minutes this is bcsc sports network via youtube players chenonda picks up out to ely good positional awareness by stevens to step in for shananda as she steps forward stevens isolates to lang laying into barker barker to lang lang's gotten inside looks like that's gonna
045referees gonna keep the whistle in the pocket not sure about that one a lot of contact on it laying out inside position but that's why i'm up here in the stands and the ref is down there making the calls or not oh we'll play on var has not hit ihsa yet we hope that it never does donica pokes over sodel harris is going to pick it up tries to play inside schum clears off cedel shinona is going to regain left footed ball out to merit merit connects inside diagonal ball into ellis hatcher well done it's going to create an opportunity for maggie matthews to run in the back line matthews tips throws through a little collision with gilly nothing malicious maggie matthews nicest kid on the planet gilly puts the ball back into play lane
046flicks schutz is going to pick that up shoots tips toes by donica confronted by merritt around merit ellis between lines gonna look for a long ball it's gonna be a little trouble for limata limited plays inside to hatcher and i see them rolling the ball out building play here's some of the the build up we've seen earlier in the first half dwinger looking for a diagonal ball so a little bit too disconnected for that one shanonda picks it up merit well done into ellis ellis got two front runners ahead of her he's gonna roll the ball through to lang lang on the right side puts the ball with their right foot in shoots clears back in the middle looks like ellis is going to pick up the rebound and sneak the first one by limita
047to give the bulldogs their first tally of the night good sequence brought on by rachel merritt's ball played a couple players out of the game found emily ellis in between lines allowed her to run occupy the back line slip a ball through to lang he was able to get enough on it and even despite good effort by east ellis in right place poke home the rebound so we're we have a 1-0 lead for the bulldogs 36 minutes 24 seconds remaining let's see if east can equalize play a little bit more of the game in they're attacking third tacking half lohide restarts for north bounced off of dwinger lohide's favorite movie spider-man he has a twin brother that may feature in tomorrow night's game speaking of siblings shoots the shit's girls as you may have seen
048in the republic there's greta schutz as a freshman at north gabby schutz is a senior at east so they have a house divided in this very game matthews confronted by steven stevens outside the boot to ely well done well played by the bulldogs stevens out wide combines inside with barker ellis is going to pick it up ellis steps inside goes back outside miss cleared by craig looks like harris is going to harris is stepping through she is taking a couple knocks tonight nadia harris a fine player for the olympians only a sophomore big things expected out of her in years to come good quality athlete hatcher reeners for east hatcher is going to be a name you'll hear quite frequently tomorrow night as the boys play her older brother corbin is star center back for
049the east boys program wiltsey inside in the half space bounces back out to twinger good little interplay between the two of them unlucky grace wiltsey had a huge spring season tremendous improvement scored a great goal the other night caught it on the east instagram page well earned by grace who's spent a lot of time improving her game and is seen it pay off starting in tonight's game low hide into merit merit with a trio of olympians around her dwinger is going to regain and play to federally federally confronted by ellis confrontation just enough as delange able to pick it off and find merit merit one touch ball finds lang laying on the left side cuts in stood up by spurgeon well done by the glow bear alexis spurgeon avid reader she's always at the fields
050watching her sister play reading a book so i think she's going to join a book club she mentioned maybe my wife will join with her i like to read the same way books and not rent them from the library to save money so maybe they can share ellis ball back in limits is going to regain the corner good punt by limita merit one touch into barker parker and federally er barker and hatcher good little battle there ellis shows her class regains it out to the wide area misses the mark a little off balance gonna restart with east 32 minutes remaining in the second half 1-0 lead for the bulldogs in blue the north hooligans chanting short-lived hatcher clears long wiltsey is going to confront lohide low hyde facing her own direction wisely plays gilly gilly
051back out to merit meredith winger whistle for a foul there good confrontation by dwinger did well holding her off not a foul at the next level but don't want to be the curmudgeon arguing about calls in high school girls games so i'll stop ealy looks long swinger sodel fall back to dwinger dwayne looking for a attacking option harrison didn't rotate it's like ely scuffs the clearance and wiltsey's going to have a chance to gain it back from her kj spins out to the left tiptoes in doubled by federally ball bounce off federally going to be a north throw pretty impressed by east's ability to go double the ball realizing situation reading cues to to go outnumber it well done by them fairly fairly compact midfield group for olympians um let's cause some caused some problems
052for the north midfield and the times that north has been able to break down the east midfield it's been with very surgical like passing and positioning so pretty impressive both ways cause and effect donnica into steven stevens touched inside goes back outside he's gonna bring in low hyde low hyde steps forward and advances play craig confronts it but north is going to set up shop and turn their attacking third a little sequence by the bulldogs finding stevens bringing more players into it lang isolated with craig craig regains the bulb plays out wide for a north throw ellis with federally plays back out and give east another throw tactical adjustments paying off well for coach young starts second half bringing in uh rachel merritt who's connected a couple key passes catalyst for north's first goal regains
053the ball from dwinger substitution for east berkmeyer's gonna come back in it's like she's gonna take off maggie matthews we're gonna have a little shift in shape for east in for the olympian number seven sydney berkmeyer uh federally back to dwinger doing our left boot inside looking for burkmeyer stevens ball back to chenonda chananda clears long looking for barker parker almost got by shuts but spurgeon there to clean it up lang touches outside cuts back inside around craig lang sizing up with their left foot great save bouncing ball in front of limata tough to deal with anna great job getting down pushing that ball out for a corner it's a not an easy play to make likely screened by players ahead of her ball coming in at pace it's going to bounce and change the
054trajectory as it spins off the turf well done by anna lima ellis taking her probably 12th corner of the match great pickup for for north been been very impressed by her ability to create off the dribble and get out of tight spaces she'll do very well in the in the mac playing for ball state lang to steven stevens hopeful ball picked off by schutz pinball to craig to frederie federally looking for sodell danica gets a foot in sodel breaks lines to harris here we go for east harris just not able to find a penetrating option off of that good sequence finding nadia harris in an opposite pocket to be able to take the game forward just need to have more numbers ahead of the ball for her in those situations [Music] well done by harris
055harris looking out to wiltsy we'll see right side service into the box put the ball bounce off gilly picked up by ellis she clears wide dangerous opportunity for the olympians long diagonal ball from lang finds merit merritt ball back into ely it's one way to break pressure jenna lang hitting a 40-yard ball that finds a player back heel from lang stevens directed by alexis spurgeon stevens inside picked off by federli east has opportunities ahead of them harris spends her round shenandoah well done by nadia harris keep trying to play burke meyer into space um sydney burkmeyer great great playmaker try to find her feet in those opportunities let her create back to goal opportunities for others limit lima's gonna play wide it's gonna find wilty we'll see flick header beyond donica and ely but shananda
056finds it shinondo long the hatcher hatcher's ball's gonna gonna find sodell well done by federly been very very impressed by the sophomore trio of federally hatcher and harris for the olympians three very different skill sets but all three complement each other very well you have hatcher able to play her position and defend her space very very well good defensive presence capable with the ball to penetrate with the pass federally a little bit busier not afraid to get into tussle can beat players one versus one can connect passes it brings a lot of energy and then you have harris who has all the athletic attributes defensively needed but also has a little bit of that flare attacking i i'd be very excited if i were coach elia schwartzman with those three sophomores sodell sizes up low
057high looks inside low hide two foot's the ball down low i'm gonna bounce back out looks like east is gonna get a throw enter in there attacking third so hallie randall is going to re-enter for east as will claire livers and another freshman amelia corney they've likened her to amelia corney the female jack greelish capable attacking player good off the dribble gonna get gonna be dangerous in in the attacking third um nice nice young player for the bulldogs she's gonna get her first touch and connect inside to donaka harrison federally run into each other and we find corny corny incidental contact randall went down tripped up with corny no call east fans disagree stevens regains really impressed with stevens tonight not going to show up in the box score not going to show up in
058the stat line but she's a key to what north wants to do high passing percentage high soccer iq players like that are very valuable especially as you move through the later stages of the season short corner between ellis and lang ellis into the box poke tackle by federally finds limata it's going to allow east to get out 20 minutes left in tonight's crosstown clasico that anfield in the corn field bcsc soccer complex dwinger former club teammates winger and livers looked like a fair tackle by zwinger referee disagrees gonna be a free kick for north ellis and no rush to restart play she's going to serve play off a barker or lang's head possibly donnica or corny in behind set pieces wing service key in one goal games at a wing service from lang resulting in
059the first goal tonight will it stand as the game winner set piece service from ellis it's like covered by east limits is going to pick that one up harris brings down in the middle of the park looking for dwinger dwinger gives chase going to be confronted by china in the wide service wide service area ball in gilly well done coming off of her line to receive that pretty good sequence by east there pulled out the players they needed to pull out of the box just unable to find an orange shirt in the box corny back to livers inside to ellis ellis looking for options back to livers livers diagonal inside like a vague veg ball picked off by east craig unable to adjust that pass from sodel donica gives chase and is going to confront
060the glow bear spurgeon number 31 a rare number amongst all the single digits wears 31 for her favorite player former bayern munich and chicago fire star bastian schweinsteiger so fun fact about alexis spurgeon their connection to bastian schweinsteiger so we're going to stop the clock for a second injury timeout looks like claire livers is gonna come off [Applause] actually i'm not really certain why the time stopped but we're back in play lang oh sorry barker to corny corny switch sides looks like lohide's going to come off it's gonna shift shift ely out here gilly back where it came from to corny spurgeon well done spins inside connects with federally federally breaks the line to sodel sodell options ahead of her picked off by shananda i like to see the east front line a little bit
061more proactive they're waiting for the ball to be delivered instead of dictating where the ball is delivered ellis turns brings in steven stevens in the half space pivot why delang lang's gonna give hayley randall her welcome to high school soccer moment right here there was meg between the legs looks like it tiptoed out of bounds but it's gonna stay in livers touched inside looks like schutz is going to clear wide for east harris picks the ball up has dwinger advance berkmeyer as well dwinger 1v1 with ely shinonda is going to cover cuts inside if she's able to find burke meyer one versus one with shum schum had no cover just unable to find that final pass for east a lot of positive things entering that attacking third just final one it's not quite there yet
062sodell picked up by ellis ellis plays beyond craig's gonna give east a throw 15 minutes remaining 1-0 lead for the bulldogs harris spin trying to shake ellis finds hatcher hatcher back where it came finds federally wins a tackle ball bounces off chananda before it's cleared by ely lang tries to step corny tries to step through a trio of olympians it's like allison craig is going to get advanced step into the attacking third into sodel in the half space pivot hopeful ball into the middle banged out by ely hatcher confronted by donica good touch by lang lang with space barker stretches looks like corny's going to join on the right donica slightly supporting i don't think lang has any intentions to pass this one she's going to take it one versus three good tackle there by
063schutz randall restarts miss heads it looks like we're gonna have a couple of olympians and a bulldog reener looks like sodell and burke meyer going to come off for wiltsy and warren and bennett is going to re-enter for number four amelia corney been it tremendous off-season participated uh locos foot saw improved her ability on the ball and has been rewarded the start in the northeast game by coach young randall clears it's gonna give north another throw merit enter re-enters the game danica's going to step out merrick cattle's to the to the first north goal the only goal the lone tally of tonight ely warren gives chase to china now to schum schum not heard much from her tonight very reliable player in possession just not needed a whole lot on the ball not tested much
064defensively it seems that china and the outside backs getting most of the work liver spins ball's going to find lang top of the box lang pushes to her right triples around two olympians takes a shot it's gonna clear into the netting beautiful night at a first class facility limiter ball finds ellis shuts clears longs bennett chess it down dwinger's gonna regain try to play into warren well done by by stevens just really really impressed by ryan stevens tonight she's got that she's got a veteran game doesn't have doesn't have to run doesn't have to dribble moves the ball where it needs to be very wise very intelligent or like seeing it things getting a little bit chippy confrontational as expected lang size up on on the left side a little back hill with merit merit
065pushes cuts back to her right foot spurgeon's gonna pick that off one touch ball by stevens finds lang to merit merit one touch looper not gonna trouble limata ten minutes remaining expect east to be a little bit more aggressive getting numbers forward pushing the game will see hopeful ball misplayed by shananda and east is gonna get its first corner of the night nine minutes remaining set pieces wing service key decider in one goal games can ease get on the board here ball the front post harris gonna take an opportunity deflected decent little set piece playing to the near post getting one of your superior attacking players touching the box well defended by north harris plays through looks like deflection from schum gilly's gonna pick it up and no rush gilly into the middle third federally's
066gonna regain for east penetrating ball with wilty wiltsy gives chase shroom's going to get there clear wide a little more forward play with east a little more personality in the attack like seeing this federally switches through to shuts shuts she's gonna play long ealy gives chase she's going to let it run for a goal kick seven minutes 50 seconds remaining north holding on to a one goal lead emily ellis tally the difference thus far mal gilly all-state performer a year ago restarts the play hatcher bounces over bennett wiltsey wilty voted captain amongst her peers believe gabby shuts as well schum left-footed clearance finds craig livers with space barker ahead of her tries to thread the ball through back four of east deflected by spurgeon hatcher regains left footed ball out to wilty well done by
067kylie hatcher wiltsy diagonal ball bounces off chinana finds harris dwinger he's got an opportunity to run at ely healy does just enough to knock it out individual you want to try to find your end of your your key individuals and key areas of the field i didn't ideally in isolated areas and it looks like that's what east is trying to do by pushing dwinger a little bit higher try to isolate her with kj ely let them go one versus one dwinger drives the ball in gilly's gonna have no trouble with that numerous changes for both groups sodell back in it's going to provide some hold up play see if she can occupy schum and shananda which allows wiltsy and dwinger to play one versus one the wide players like ellis scraped wilty on the back
068gonna give east a free kick five minutes and some change one oh north globe starts back in low driven ball picked off by steven stevens confronted by harris stevens unable to connect to livers east throw in front of their own bench sodo back to craig craig tries to switch inside find harris picked up by lange lang looking wide for ellis looks like spurgeon's gonna get there confronted by ellis spurgeon unable to cleanly get out of it gonna hold off give to schutz misplayed off of gabby it's gonna give north corner four minutes 25 seconds left to give norther 17th corner north is subbing since ihsaa rules mandate a sub under the last five minutes if your team is winning stops the clock so the clock will stop for the remainder of this match unless there
069is a equalizing goal and north elects to play short lang outside the corner of the box takes a shot gonna test limata oh and anna donica just laid out ruth fetterly but ruth federli comes from a family of hockey players she gets right back up east gonna restart play here top of the box three minutes 50 seconds left spurgeon back into the middle third ellis finds parker barker dispossessed by murphy ball bounces out to lang lang center space and jenna lang with the laser knee height sneaks it by anna limata to give the bulldogs a 2-0 advantage broken play finds lauren barker barker switches through to lang in a very dangerous area and lange shows why she is a high school all-american and a candidate for indiana's miss soccer this year north makes the game
0702-0 with three minutes and 33 seconds remaining in the match ely regains [Music] looks like east is going to play schutz in a little hot and more advanced position try to get back into this it may be too little too late after that equalizer lang tiptoes around harris and murphy looks like she's gonna elect to get into the wide areas and it's gonna earn north another corner [Music] [Applause] and lang and ellis are going to combine around wenger ellis deflecting off of harris two minutes 35 seconds [Music] lang to ellis north's going to try to see this game off in in the wide areas dwinger and ellis good little battle gonna give north a free kick look like ellis took a hit off of that she's struggling to regroup lange served off dwinger finds harris
071harris looping inside to sodel sodell one touch looking for shoots replayed by the bulldogs to shum schum resets to gilly one minute 35 seconds remaining 2-0 lead for north spirited second half both groups provided positive attacking play in the second half good adjustments by both coaches thus far as it stands game winner sparked by a couple key passes from rachel merritt found emily ellis in the box and then a switching play from barker to jenna lange just icing on the cake thus far less than one minute remaining spurgeon try to pump this ball back into the final third well high off of stevens harris touch around [Music] ely clears 30 seconds remaining in the match dwinger pull back into murphy giving away ellis is going to find that she's going to play long down a
072central seam barker gives chest chase lima does a well job 8 7 6. and that is going to do it for tonight's match a 2-0 victory an emily ellis goal topped off by a jenna lange strike in the closing minutes the difference in tonight's crosstown classico at bcsc soccer complex for the evening north held an advantage 17-4 in shots and a 14-1 corner kick advantage fairly competitive halves at a 0-0 first half and if in a even second half until ellis found the back of the net and in the late the late game tally by east at the end or by laying at the end excuse me looks like teams are exchanging pleasantries after the game not sure everything that's going on great crowd tonight spirited expect nothing less for the east north games expect
