003home team columbus north bulldogs coached by paul ferguson in his sixth year at columbus north are coming into tonight's matchup with a 7-2 record both of their losses coming to excellent basketball programs from the mick conference carmel and lawrence central the bulldogs are returning to the court for the first time since last friday night where they barely slid past the terre haute north patriots 43-42 leading the way for the bulldogs last friday were seniors blake barker with 15 points and max wilson with six junior cooper horn also contributed 13 points the bulldogs are hoping to get off to a fast start tonight and remain undefeated here at home and jumping right into things cooper horn will try three off the left side but he's going to miss mooresville will take it out the other way
004mooresville's zach woodson works here against jacob trusina he's going to drive right put up a layup his shot's no good and cooper horn is going to take it the other way for the bulldogs he gets it to blake barker underneath but it looks like mooresville swiped it away they'll come back the other direction luke fowler guarded by sam king here columbus north with some good defense to start the game off thus far that was number 35 luke fowler who got the jumper off but trucino will get the rebound for the dogs and get it to harmon he'll go down court to horn and horn will lay a layup in that's a good work by north to push the pressure on the fast breaks they get a lot of buckets off those easy lips and north

009going to try a three his shot is good and there's the timeout that fans at home are probably looking for as north has 16 points and we're only four or four minutes five minutes into the first quarter of play here north got off to a heart hot start there led by a cooper horn who has seven points so far yeah north in the last few games hasn't shot uh extremely well in the first half of play but obviously things are changing up here a little bit different as they already have a few three-pointers yeah it looks like shooting might have been a point of emphasis at practice this week kyle they are coming out hot we'll see if mooresville their head coach bob carter 18th year here maybe he's looking to change it up here

012on the wing morrisville's making it very difficult for columbus north to get any shots from within the arc i think this is a good long possession for north they're trying to use as much clock as they can here again and get an excellent shot parker's going to work the spin and get the and one on the layup he'll head to the line yeah north took about 45 seconds a clock off there and that's just a good play they will possibly get three points after the end of this one and max wilson has checked in for sam king as barker heads to the line he comes into tonight's matchup shooting 60 from the line and barker's gonna miss that one and the pioneers will take it the other way with 30 seconds remaining in the first
013quarter and morrisville here probably looking for the final shot with only 20 ticks left in the first quarter only down by four so one able to go into the second quarter with a one possession score and they get a foul and that is number five gavin rodgers who will head to the free-throw line for the pioneers an interesting tactic there most high school teams throughout the state tend to want to hold it for the final shot but not more so here they saw an open lane i went ahead and took the basket didn't make it were able to get fouled and rogers is going to miss that first free throw as number 44 nick wiley checks in and trusina gets the board for the dogs and 0 for 2 there from the line not good
014for mooresville there they're definitely looking to get some points there since they didn't go for the last second shot and tristina is going to find horn underneath and cooper horn will lay it in for his ninth point of the game as the first quarter ends and yeah not what mooresville was looking for there they could have gone into the end of the quarter with a two-point deficit but now they're going in with a six-point deficit and north 20 points in the first quarter that's definitely shooting well [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and after a quarter of play cooper horn leads all scorers with nine points reese harmon's not too far behind him with six hey blake barker set to inbound here for the bulldogs wilson has it in the corner he's going to get to harmon

016i would think that north poly has eight to ten points off mooresville's turnovers definitely winning that battle so far it looks like columbus north might be playing at a bit faster pace than mooresville is used to playing kyle yeah i'd say north's definitely come out a little bit quicker than they did against their last contest against terre haute north when they only won by one point but north playing some good defense here to start and that bucket was made by number three zach woodson horn's got it for the bulldogs he's gonna get to truecena in the corner he's gonna try three his shot no good the boards are gonna go to luke fowler back the other way looks like a bit of a size mismatch there with number 35 luke fowler guarded by cooper horn
017that's good work by rhys harmon an excellent defender for the bulldogs able to deflect that ball out of bounds get the kickball violation but if they were to feed that ball down there definitely a mismatch as we talked about and that would not have ended well for the bulldogs yeah if you look at mooresville kyle they have the clear advantage in terms of size and height you think they might want to make more use of that here as the game [Applause] progresses and the bulldogs looking to make something happen trussina is going to find horn underneath and cooper horn will lay that in excellent cut by horn even better pass from chucina they're able to find him down low and extend this lead to nine and it seems like cooper horn has six or eight

024worked against the bulldogs there as it kind of mooresville was able to beat them off the dribble and uh get an open three-point look there and sam king got up a shot tried to get the rebound and hit it out of bounds so marsville will take it the other direction stevenson's going to put up another three this one no good number 15 max wilson gets the board king underneath puts up a layup and he'll be fouled and won king will head to the free throw line on a potential three-point play that's an excellent work to just keep pushing the ball up the court just keep pushing throughout the game sam able to do a good move there and kind of box out his defender and draw on n1 and king comes into tonight's game shooting
02580 from the line he's gonna knock that one down as well and woodson has it up top for the pioneers he's going to get to luke fowler who's going to go underneath to number 42 miles mcgowan but he's not going to be able to knock that one down back the other way blake barker has it for the bulldogs gets it to tracina up top christina to harmon on the left right side parker's gonna try three his shot no good rebound goes to miles mcgowan and we got two minutes left here in the first half north remaining in their man defense they're going to get it underneath in the post mcgowan's going to try and move on barker and he'll be able to knock that one down shortens the bulldog lead to six points here with

034turnovers in the two and a half minutes at this second half's been underway just they're not even passing turnovers to strip them right as they're a ball healing definitely to tighten that up and get it to one of their better guards and uh something we've seen a little bit but not a ton kyle has been uh feeding it into the post for mooresville you know they clearly have the size advantage on paper and you think they'd uh be taking more advantage of that but we just haven't seen a ton of it so far tonight you're right i definitely do have a size advantage here but it seems like north is doing a good job of walling up hands high blake barker cooper horn reese armin i've done a good job definitely undersized down there but
035able to compete with those six five six six guys and uh blake barker has been guarding mooresville's tallest player miles mcgowan for the majority of the game and barker's been doing a pretty good job limiting him underneath mcgowan only has eight points so far we got about five and a half minutes left in the third quarter and columbus north has an 11 point lead let's see if mooresville can shorten that and woodson tried to get it to number 31 ashton holtzclaw but uh that pass was deflected by cooper horn it's good work by cooper having a hand in passing lane there but if you're at mooresville look to do a back cut there cooper was in the passing lane it back that they would have had a jump shot or maybe even a layup on

039mcgowan will put up the second chance shot bringing the bulldog lead to 11. we have two minutes and 45 seconds left in the third quarter as jacob trusino throws that one away and back the other way is mooresville they try to get it down under and trusina is going to deflect it and he will go out of bounds mooresville will keep possession and dane stevenson has checked out as number five gavin rogers comes in for the pioneers mcgowan has it gets it to number three zach woodson who's guarded by jacob trusina mcgowan guarded by king gets it to fowler fowler works on barker puts up a shot and he's gonna miss but blake barker will be called for the foul that is columbus north's fourth foul of this half blake barker has three fowler had

045converting those layups earlier in the game the north defenders have done a good job of preventing those but it looks like the last about eight minutes they're able to get some baskets and if the pioneers can uh keep this up this game might be a little closer here in the fourth quarter uh rhys harmon drove left and he was fouled that is mooresville's third team foul [Music] and rhys has done a good job of being able to attack the baseline there the mooresville defenders respect his ability to shoot so they come out hand high on him and he's able to pump fake and go baseline on them and either find a way for himself or feed one of his teammates yeah harman really a triple threat on offense as he can shoot the ball well

055a six point advantage with a minute and a half remaining zach woodson is going to try a deep three that shot no good and the ball was tipped off the hands of number 42 miles mcgowan and the bulldogs will get it back and harmon was fouled by number three zach woodson that'll send him right back to the line i'm not sure that was the best shot morsel could have got that they still had about 80 seconds left when they took that shot they're able to afford a 20 seconds off the clock and get a good looking three but that one was just off that one dribble and about 25 feet so not sure that was the best solution for them there and harmon misses that one mooresville catches a break there as harmon is usually
056very solid from the free throw line and he'll steal the ball harmon's headed the other way to lay it in for two making up for that layup or that free throw i mean [Music] mcgowan has it he's gonna dribble out of bounds and the bulldogs will take it the other way and the dogs have an eight-point lead not too long ago this was a two-point game but north has been able to uh commit some allow moore's votes to commit some turnovers there so it looks like there's a five second violation caught on the bulldogs so moore's will get a lucky break and be able to inbound the ball here down by eight with 59 seconds left in the game and coach ferguson will use another [Music] timeout it is a full timeout the bulldogs have
