021if you if you're wanting to beat the Press it's not necessarily on the first pass and bury your head and drill down the S line but it's getting the ball in and then reversing it trying to get it down the other side of the floor so look for that for Lincoln [Music] on the five side I think just being patient I know they've got some pretty good Shooters and certainly some size inside but perhaps the pressure of being a YouTube sensation star tonight has some of them just a little bit nervous but I think they're going to settle in and do do pretty [Applause] well again if you're just joining us here Southside Elementary School is the host for all of EB games this year and what can only be described as a short condensed
022to the point play the games throughout the week type season Southside is happy to um host the games here at Southside is a small sacrifice to make so that 10 other Elementary School can enjoy the benefits of um a bigger area to play in a safer area for parents fans players to stay spread out doing their best to observe those social distancing guidelines [Music] all right coming out here in the second half Huskies will have it and we'll see what Max Wilson can do with it over in back [Music] around the perimeter there wide open nothing there nice crisp passes boy I tell you that's something that's great to see at this level oh good job there stunning the defense drawing two players number 10 gets his hands on it no good big number 50

024nice job good Hustle it's a good combination there that Wilson to Robertson combination has gotten a lot of good things and again one of those things I I'm certainly not going to disagree with the officials especially on air because I may have these two later on in the game but I think there may have been an over and back there he didn't establish himself in the in the front Court when he caught that ball but here's the thing and that and I've said this time and time again you know I have never coached a perfect game and my players have never played a perfect game um I certainly I wouldn't expect the officials to have a perfect game they they're allowed to make some mistakes too you just hope that the mistakes uh made either

041teams I you know they started off almost too quick for their for their own good yeah and then uh getting your game Feed under you it's compc just relaxing and letting the game come to you turned into one that will be remembered for a [Music] while you hate to see this for um for a team like Lincoln that clawed their way back in and had a few opportunities to either tie the game or take the lead but certainly nothing to be uh disappointed or upset or ashamed about an incredible effort and then if what I'm seeing here is correct for fodrea number 15 King Roberts he's out there taking care of the ball floor General out there and that's right he's just a fifth grader he's a fifth grader that's what I was impressed with
042you know obviously uh it's it's always an advantage uh at the elementary level to be left-handed but he looked like he was good going both ways and uh you know he he got his teammates involved made some key buckets throughout the game and uh foder is definitely happy to have him for one more year after this and you had mentioned that relationship with um you know dad being a um an assistant coach and that's something special and it's also something hard that to navigate sometimes you know that player coach son father relationship and um I'm sure that the both of them work really hard to make sure that um Dad is Dad at home and Coach Roberts while we're here in a gym yeah that was something that I noticed on both teams you know
043just great coaching throughout and you know just a shout out to the coaches on both sides you know obviously they knew this was the the big game you know the one on YouTube as well as the CSA signature Showdown uh and it was uh man it was it was just a great game I thought that both coaches were just giving it their all as well as the players well and I'm going to be 100% honest here both of these teams have improved their overall program from year to year um the Fri boys team has continued to improve from year to year yeah and I think um a big part of that is just creating a a culture of um success that they're saying hey we may one of the small schools but we belong here
044just as much as anybody else and the same holds true for Lincoln U they certainly have a um a culture and an attitude of don't forget about us we can work just as hard um as the bigger schools and they too have created a um a culture of success yeah you know that's something that doesn't happen overnight either and it takes place at you know at at all levels of a school so the the teachers who support their kids uh in the classroom the parents [Music] administrators both both schools represented uh themselves great tonight yeah one of the cool things and I'm I'm not sure while I was uh doing some work behind the scenes here for uh B bcsc uh I don't know if we mentioned this or not but you know a distinct
045difference between CSA Lincoln and CSA fodrea and and our other elementary schools is uh their emphasis on Project based learning and so with that CSA signature Academy um you know both schools I know fodrey has really taken an emphasis on the global uh aspect of that and you know both schools like you said continuing to improve and grow their programs and I know that they do a great job just like our other elementary schools of focusing on you know the classroom and something that's really unique you know for those of you who are watching and I'm sure that many of you know this but it's it's pretty neat to see the way that these signature have started and and just the impact they're making on our community through their Project based learning yeah if I'm
046not mistaken I think that um you know the the the signature Academy idea was something that was brought back here to Columbus um for the middle school and the high school and then um at the last minute it was like hey why don't we why don't we try this at an elementary school and so yeah and there's the gave it a try yep CSA Lincoln CSA foder as well as the these kiddos can continue on the CSA Central pathway and and then on to CSA new tech and so it's a complete K through2 pathway and uh it's a great great option for our families and I know that Dr Roberts you know we talk he talks about this a lot that we try to be the District of choice that gives our families options you

053teams are confused which way they need to go just wanted to give you a fun fact Nate I was researching a little bit and as you were talking about uh Joselyn vogle I believe she's number 12 yes for CSA Lincoln great shot by CSA there so Joselyn and her sister Emily are actually authors they wrote a bookl about uh a new plane or an old plane that used to be at the adaberry ballar air museum and uh Emily vogle is a cheer leader josn is a basketball player and already in elementary school they're authors which I think is pretty cool and uh their grandpa is actually uh very involved with the um building of the new aircraft that has come to Columbus that will be on display at the uh the airport so we've got

063the CSA signature showdown in the first half each team needs to improve on ball handling to be quite honest um you know you cannot have just one ball handler out there um cuz it's really easy to defend them and trap them so like we talked about last week um always working on ball handling and handling the pressure and and handling the pressure I remember you talking about that so you know if both teams can get um comfortable handling the ball that comes then to the next part which is um hitting those easy shots underneath F has done it uh Lincoln struggled to to to do that and so seemed like a little bit too um fodrea you know what their height Advantage we're able to get those putback lay um layups off the rebounds and
064you know another thing that you said was really important whether it's uh you know ebl or our high school athletes rebounding you said rebounding rebounding rebounding exactly and you know I'm certainly not going to fault uh CSA having um let's see looks like three fourth graders on their team but you know uh fod has this has fourth graders also and so um positioning yourself so that you can um get a rebound and either give your team another chance to score or um you know be able to start the fast break the other way so I'm not I'm not 100% convinced I got the numbers right this so I'm going to try to get third grader Bella slate Who's down there her mom's a coaching I'm going to see if I can't get her up here

079was fortunate to be able to play Fida and just like uh Bailey did with us uh she was a big contributor for the Falcons tonight just about everywhere and got a lot of help from a lot of different people including Trinity Green number [Music] 53 um those two together certainly um tough Duo to handle for the Huskies it is it's only going to get better they have some uh great kids working hard um when you have fourth grader Joselyn Vogel and a fourth grader Sophia pure and fifth grader Jackie Burrows um getting quite a bit of time on the floor the future is bright for the Huskies and as you said earlier Nate both boys and girls programs have shown quite a bit of growth and even through a year like this covid-19 year um
080a lot of improvement on both teams yeah and you know it it's it it's just a matter of finding finding enough time to practice and work on some things but when we have a very very um condensed schedule like we do it's it's sometimes hard to to work on something before you have your next game certainly is is um I think for the Huskies as long as number 30 GG uh Gman continues to improve along with uh brayy Ernest and then they're in the middle uh Jasmine Hendrick number 54 um you know there's some there's some good things going on there awesome well we're going to go ahead and sign off Nate and we'll be back uh on Saturday morning for another bcsc uh ebl game we'll be giving you some bonus coverage make sure
