Columbus North vs Terre Haute North Football Live Stream (Homecoming Game)

001is good evening welcome to max anders field columbus north bulldogs taking on the terre haute braves in a conference matchup i'm joined by john having our the second son of western michigan and the kalamazoo kid good evening john good evening coach how are you it's great to have you good to be here tonight beautiful night for football it certainly is well terre haute north comes into the ball game tonight with a two and three record a lot they won their first two coming in and have lost their three straight and facing the home dogs who are two and two they're off last week they were as you know coach supposed to play mount healthy out of ohio and that game was canceled due to ohio high school teams only playing their conference schedules limited schedule

002there so the dogs had last week off your thoughts on how the dogs how that week off may or may not affect them yeah i mean i think i think uh you know we get huffman we're gonna get huffman back this week and uh you know it's good to he had a chance to rest so the off week probably helped a little bit for the team we had a couple of bumps and bruises out there so it's good to have a week off from a rest perspective um i think uh what we're seeing we're gonna we're gonna see here in a minute but uh the terre haute team i think has a couple of dings and dents and uh with columbus north team coming back a little bit healthy uh my guess is we're gonna

003see a lot of columbus north uh offense tonight and um you know we'll we'll see uh how terre haute does but i think we have a they have a couple guys out so we'll see how this goes homecoming night here for the dogs dogs are led by luke hammonds the junior quarterback who's thrown for 636 yards so far this year averaging 159 per game certainly he can run two he's got five excuse me 408 yards on the ground averaging 7.3 yards per carry he's carried the ball 56 times so far this year john do you expect him to yeah the load on the ground this year uh share that a little bit yeah i i like uh i like the hammonds kid i say it every week um you know it'll be nice to see

004the russell kid too from terre haute they're about the same size and both of them like to run both open can throw it so we should see a good football game from the quarterbacks tonight but i think you'd be really surprised to me with huffman coming back it'd be surprising to me if we didn't see a lot of huffman early but you know columbus north has a great passing game as well so i think we'll see we'll probably see a pretty good blend of passing and running tonight given that they're at full strength you mentioned blake huffman returning this year or this game rather he's the 5 8 180 senior 171 yards per game 513 for the season averaging 6.8 per carry that of course is over three games he sat during the roncalli contest

005so certainly would expect to see him getting his fair shares of carries tonight you mentioned that the terre haute terre haute north club led by number eight jace russell he's a five nine 170 quarterback uh looks like he's a punter too coach of course he is every good quarterback worth of salt has to be able to punt that's right um i just i'm surprised you know this i think it's the first game and we're always talking about the hammond's kid is not a super big kid and plays he plays big uh this is the first time i think we've seen an opponent that didn't have a quarterback that wasn't six four six three so it'll be good to see two pretty strong tough kids come out tonight play the quarterback position and uh and just

006just be good good leaders on the field i and think russell with 358 yards passing on the season averaging 71 per game maybe more of a runner than a passer he actually has 367 yards on the ground as a runner um averaging 73 per game and four and a half four and a half yards per attempt yeah and from what we understand is a like we said earlier in the in the you know in the conversation you know sounds like they got a couple of bruised up guys so we're expecting the terre haute team to come out you know maybe three four wide receivers at a time and and they're probably going to get outside the pocket and run around with a little bit and throw it a little uh which will make it a

007probably a great game um i do think the columbus north defense i like their defensive backs sometimes they get a little too aggressive i think but uh at the end of the day there's some really good defensive backs back there and if terre haute puts it in the air hopefully we'll see a pick or some fun play back there if uh these guys can have a great night on defense so uh i think i think the the bulldogs have a really good chance tonight coach they they continuously score a lot of points the terre haute team hasn't won a game where they've um you know they they haven't scored 30 yet and columbus north has demonstrated that they were they're willing to score 30. and if uh so i think if terre haute can't keep

008up with them i think columbus north's gonna you know they'll go out win this game potentially by a couple touchdowns and i i i'm pretty certain that columbus north's going to get to 30 tonight so um yeah i think it's a bulldog i'm picking bulldogs north enters the game two and three as mentioned uh won the first two close contests a matter of fact they won week two against indianapolis tech 6a school since then dropped three straight to three 5a schools bloomington south terre haute south and bloomington north the loss to bloomington north up yeah um but uh there aren't there are not a ton of white jerseys over there so we'll see see how the dogs do here and and as you said i i agree i think they're probably the better team and

009the stronger team at least on paper audition for a football movie there's a hundred guys down there uh so good to see that many guys coming out and playing football but uh terre haute has you know they got 31 or 32 guys out there tonight so hopefully they'll be able to stick with them it's a long drive from terre haute coach makes for a long night one bus yeah i don't i did not look around the corner i don't i see i do see one charter bus over there there's some restrictions i'm sure on what imagine how many you can get on a bus north will kick off away from the scoreboard my left to the right same on your screen terre haute oh excuse me terre haute north rather clarify that we got two

011to be the theme dogs came out and trips to the left they balance now with two by two formation number two luke hammond's the the commander the quarterback huffman the running back now in motion comes out in the bubble he's gonna get that bubble pass a bunch of white jerseys out there though yeah that was actually great coverage the terre haute terre haute team knew that one was coming i think it's a pretty good conclusion you see huffman running out to the sideline you're gonna send three or four guys after him so probably a little bit of film study there we have seen that several times from the dogs this year yep so far bing's up third and five ball rests on the 38 yard line left hash redman this time in motion is going

012to keep it in the middle of 50 for a first down great great blocking up front big hole big hole offensive line did an outstanding job there no huddle for the dogs ball in the middle of the field on the 50 2x2 formation hammonds excuse me trips to the to the right this time empty set hammond's going to throw out to redmond in the flat and he stays up quickly picks up a couple quick ones tackle good coverage there by terre haute north yeah he broke broke the first tackle but that first guy slowed him down enough to get three guys over there second six now ball rests on the 47 yard line two by two formation for the dogs because to redmond hammond no scrambling he's getting out of there he's gonna run this

013time up ahead he's still understood across the 30 25 huge block up the side big block there huge block cast header i believe no it was uh number four um hayden mcdaniel mcdaniel just absolutely smoked this guy cassette also had a good block earlier in the play right up at about three yards past the line of scrimmage but hey mcdaniel roll back around when hammonds got out there about maybe 15 17 yards down field and just absolutely laid a guy out and allowed hammonds to get another probably seven yards looks like they flagged mcdaniel on that yeah what hit on that it wasn't it wasn't a bad block coach he had his he had his head in front of the shoulder pads really good really actually quite a good quite a good block in my

014opinion but but it looked painful and those those types of blocks are drawing fouls now compared to where it just probably saying he was defenseless or something like that or maybe the quarterback had already gone past him but um yeah it was it was a pretty good block certainly not in the back two by two formations still be first down since hammonds did pick up the first down redman in motion keeps it uh he's gonna look into the boundary and run it anyways looks quick tonight i mean he's he he's always he's always pretty fast but he's really making quick decisions tonight and getting out of the pocket um probably already got 30 or 40 yards second short now ball on the 30 yard line right hash nine minutes 25 seconds remain in the first

029the dogs yeah you know what here we are mine yeah if you're wondering about huffman i mean it looks looks like he's through the injury he's running hard he looks yep looks 100 to me same formation trips to the right with the tight end same play this time he's going to give it to huffman again and stopped oh balls drops it yeah it's on the ground picked up by it's going away you know i i don't know what happened there exactly huffman just dropped it on the ground he didn't really get hit too hard or anything it looked like he might have been changing the ball over from one arm to the other and he just dropped it and maybe there's a little rust there he looks he looks like he's ready to play football

030that's just a maybe a small error from not playing for a few weeks he's the kind of kid that one one mistake like that might yeah he's got to take a shake it quick he's gonna take us you're gonna take a 60-yard walk and uh he's gonna come back come out with a little bit of steam he'll be fine yeah he gave us to charity and he stopped immediately at the line of scrimmage there by the dogs led by your boy savion banks i love savion he is a big dude hey this this uh this this cherry kid is big too though right i mean he's he's a load to bring down 511 200 pound junior i mean that's that's no kidding 511 200 running straight down hillary is a lot jet motion this time

031by the berets oh my oh months out there running tip drill almost ran into himself tipped it up almost almost an interception there if they're paying attention coach bless having a conversation with the side official that that slot in jet motion was i don't know if you noticed coach but he was he was headed downfield before that ball was snapped and yeah i hear coach bless saw it down there and made a point to remind the official what's going on yeah their slot guys have been uh eager uh almost every play so far they're leaning and getting started at least right at the snap third and ten now ball on the right hash trips to the left back to passes russell he's gonna look for a screen across the middle oh it's just dropping it's

066but their their defense has played hard all right okay by the braves across the up for about a gain of six three minutes remain here clock running i think if you can if you're if you're terre haute you you can run it for five to seven yards you can actually loosen up the defense we know this columbus north defense if if yards start to get racked up their safeties will come downhill it will loosen up the defensive backfield and uh they'll be able to throw the ball a little bit almost an old bone formation there by two right that was just that was a really good defense i think it was blocked very well by by the braves but certainly the dogs were dawson hill looking to make a play just like that at the
