0032019 campaign we have about three minutes until kickoff player introductions and the national anthem stay tuned we're going to take a quick moment to thank our sponsors [Music] thank you for tuning in to the crosstown clasico between the columbus east olympians and the columbus north bulldogs tonight's matchup features a top 20 team in the columbus east olympians versus a rebuilding group of columbus north bulldogs the matchup also features two coaches making their uh coaching debuts again um just time with different after a couple couple years off as head coaches josh guncher and andy glover will be taking the reigns of the east and north programs respectively guncher takes over for brad barber who has since retired after a 17-1 and three campaign in 2019 gunsher previously coached at hauser and has been the top was
barber's top man for years helping shape the teams at east glover a 2012 and state championship with a 2011 runner up returns as north coach after a two-year hiatus stay tuned for the starting lineups good evening this is ty smith director of coaching at columbus express soccer club i will be doing the play-by-play for tonight for the crosstown clasico between the columbus east olympians and the columbus north bulldogs let's take a look to see what has led us to this spot with both teams four east they boast a 2-1-1 record with wins over floyd central and bloomington north a loss to number 9 center grove and a tie to number 14 indianapolis pike east is ranked 18th in indiana based on the indiana soccer coaches association poll north they are 1-1-1 with a 3-1 win
over southport a one-goal loss to number 17 avon and a tie with bloomington north both teams are going to be looking to improve upon seasons last year for east that's going to be quite difficult to do after a 17-1-3 season one of the best seasons if not the best season in school history that saw them fall in the semi-state to eventual state champ zionsville east is going to have to look to reply on veteran leaders corbin hatcher branson young and ben romig in the back to provide a solid base defensively for north they are looking to rebuild and implement coach andy glover's style of play tonight they are going to need to create opportunities from the middle third to the final third to be in this game as we start east is in the white
with the orange numbers and north will be in blue with white numbers white back to mendes intercepted by hatcher hatcher quisenberry intercepted by jorge avila avila inside of johnson out to mendes mendes finds white inside of johnson looks through williams that's going to go out for a goal kick for the starters for east looks like they are going to be playing in a 4-4-2 diamond sophomore pete corden takes over the reigns from a veteran goalkeeper a year ago he will have a front line of weston romine a junior corbin hatcher ben romig and adam ware in front of him protecting the back four will be branson young a junior with ben silva kevin sanchez alberto sanchez playing as three advanced midfielders logan klein and chris quisenberry will be looking to provide offensive attack for the
olympians quiz and berry was a third team all-state selection last year and klein a all-conference forward a year ago for the bulldogs they're going to be playing in a 4-3-3 colvin iorio an all-conference player a year ago he will be the man behind the back four alex cordova and matteo mendes will hold down the outside back positions with eduardo cordova and jorge avila playing centrally a young trio of midfielders sophomore anthony johnson and freshman aiden whitley and ian jackson provide a promising middle three for the bulldogs and front runners christian cardoso another freshman jesse white jesse williams and nathan white will round up the lineup adam ware makes his way down the right side and provides a service into the box that will be cleared out by avila ben romig moves forward he's going to
be looking to implement his long throw on this east will use this all night long for any final third throws and treat them as set pieces they're dangerous a year ago and they are a great weapon to have if you have somebody that can throw along jackson step over looks back connects inside nice and tidy to mendez mendez to white white back to mendes confronted by klein from behind up regained by roman romain inside to young young finds kevin sanchez sanchez in the half space cuts back inside looks like johnson clipped him that's going to be a free kick for east a little chippy as expected for any rivalry game it'll be a key match-up how do the youngsters of north handle the veteran midfielders from east east veterans play right up their spine they're
going to be looking to frustrate those three youngsters in the middle four north corbin hatcher on the ball hatcher an all-conference performer a year ago looks to find ben silva in behind intercepted by aidan whitley whitley resets ball finds white back out to where adam ware right back touches by eduardo cordova looks like he's going to draw a free kick where is a senior relatively new to the game quite impressive athletically started playing in the spring of 2018 was a former football athlete decided to give soccer a try and has developed into quite a promising prospect that it's looking to potentially play at the collegiate level chris quisenberry on the ball for east ball driven in the box ben romick's free on the back side miss hits the ball will go out for a north
goal kick colvin eye oreo co-mvp for columbus north a season ago puts us back into play off of romine looks like a north row entering the final third whitley down the line to white and corydon will regain possession for the olympians kevin sanchez does well to bring that down play out of it very nicely done roman clears long both teams settling into it couple good patterns but not able to really create any opportunities yet as the game draws on expect more opportunities to come as both teams get a little bit more stretched out cordova down the line that is eaten up by where alex cordova jr he's recorded one assist on the season he has brothers with the other center back eduardo cordova um quite cardoso into the box looks combined with white intercepted by
romine the cordova brothers both provide a high level of athleticism and toughness to the backline of the bulldog both welcome additions to andy glover's group ian jackson looks like he's going to be taking this kick for the bulldogs jackson only a freshman um plays on a very highly competitive 06 columbus express team that competes in the great lakes conference at the highest division oh header by white picked up by corydon well done both ways cordova inside to johnson johnson back out east will regroup adam ware textbook throw in down the line looking for kevin sanchez johnson clears picked up by quisenberry back to young young looking for space going to be intercepted by mendez a little bit of pinball advantages for sanchez well done by iorio a lesser keeper may not have gotten to that
ball but colvin iorio shows why he was an all-conference performer a year ago ayorio launches into the north attacking half romine over white jackson flicks young intercepts well won by eduardo cordova a little battle between alex cordova and kevin sanchez alberto sanchez to restart play psych adam where to restart into alberto sanchez alberto down the line and earns east another deep throw looks like the referee wants to have a chat with one of the linesmen while we while the refs converse both coaching staffs are mainly mo made up of former east and north players for josh gunter's east olympian gunter a former east athlete he's assisted by buster kopis nathan klein caleb glass israel arena and the outcast israel javier lara well done by iorio for andy glover's staff chris morlock sam lavelle derek stewart
all earned letters as bulldog athletes with david greene the namesake of the field starting the north program back in the early 80s and brian morales a seymour graduate making up whitley in the half space looks to have a crack deflection looks like that's going to be a north corner always dangerous when opportunities are taken in that 18 to 25 yard range right in front of goal as you'll see just a little glance could be a game-changing decision jackson drives the ball in well done by corydon comes out of the traffic with that gordon only a sophomore relatively new to the game as well has been playing for the last few years has stepped in nicely to his role this year got his first career shutout earlier this week against bloomington north where evades whitley but
runs into cordova is going to earn another east throw back and forth play by both groups right now set pieces becoming more and more prevalent for the outcome of this well done by sanchez sanchez looks to connect down the line out of bounds whitley turns out gonna look long for white that's well played by corbin hatcher hatcher can't connect with where hatcher probably one of the top center backs in southern indiana if not all of indiana has had a very good career at east as a three-year starter christian cardoso another promising freshman for north weaves through looks like that ball just got across the line that's going to give north another corner east deep throws versus north's corners jackson again on the ball for north cardoso in front of corydon seeing if he can disrupt
the goalkeeper ball in oh sneaks by everyone that's going to stay with east for east they are led in goals by chris quisenberry this season with four nathan or logan klein son of nathan klein he is the leading uh playmaker with two assists on the seasons corydon has recorded 15 saves on the year with one shutout for north jesse williams is the top goal scorer and assist man for the bulldogs look for him to try to play with a little bit of flare into the attacking third also aiden whitley has recorded a goal and an assist on the year for them kolvani oreos yet to get his first shutout but has recorded 28 saves on the season hatcher from the midline real mind in an advanced position looks like hatcher is going to pump it
long driven intercepted by whitley willie finds cardoso cardoso turns faces it's like he's going to try to play jackson good back pressing by quisenberry klein lays out alberto sanchez alberto a little toe poke gonna be picked off by mendez whitley to white white back to mendez mendez looks to find johnson's gonna be picked off by sanchez dangerous ball well done by sanchez quisenberry regains possession looks outside confronted by cordova quizenberry tiptoes by ball dangerous ball in the box intercepted by north poked out of danger by jackson north is going to have to do a really good job to con to control klein and quisenberry up front clintonberry is very nimble and klein is a great finisher if he gets in front of the net hatcher inside the young young out to where ware's got space
ball is a little bit too slow where plays long no troubles for i oreo well won by young nathan white flicks inside of jackson jackson's attempt nathan white has moved from the back line a year ago where he's an all-conference performer for north to the front line where he's transitioning into a new position and he's taken quite well to it why a big big sturdy presence great ball from jackson it looks like the linesman is going to wave it off side but great look in behind to christian cardoso white has an absolute cannon the backs of east are going to have to be very cautious of how they defend him anywhere inside 30 yards because if he is able to put something on frame it is likely finding the back of the net cordon resets
four east he's gonna play long off the face of jackson jackson young jorge avila coaches at north are really high on avila avila was a kid that has really blossomed into a solid and sturdy player over the last few years a couple subs for the olympians number five a sophomore cam trueblood he's going to step in and play as a holding player for branson young and looks like alejandra saldivar is back out of out of retirement from taking a year off the senior look for him to have a little bit of creativity in the final third saudivara replaces kevin sanchez looks like looks like east will rotate quiz and barry into the midfield and let salvar play up front ball bounces out ben silva has a crack at it it's gonna go out to where
where combines with klein klein dispossessed well done by cardoso finds a hi jesse williams well done good back pressing by kevin sanchez true blood plays long it's gonna be picked up by iorio at this point probably the starters nerves are gone a couple of the subs probably a little bit nervous want to get into the flow of the game rivalry game everything's a little bit tighter than it needs to be probably but we're starting to see more patterns we're starting to see a little bit more flow to the game mendes back to johnson johnson looks inside where intercepts back to johnson into jackson jackson confronted by romine whitley header looking to play the back line not going to beat where sanchez intercepts clears for east there you see a little bit of the athleticism by
adam ware went in the header there for a clearance sanchez clears long avila's gonna connect inside to jackson jackson plays back to johnson johnson to whitley alice helen chadovar dispossesses him and earns a free kick for east we're at 21 minutes and 34 seconds remaining in the first half a 0-0 score between the olympians and the bulldogs pretty evenly matched two teams that should be expected to compete for a sectional championship this year white looking behind looks like east has changed a little bit romine is now playing as a holding player and cam trueblood plays in at center back romig goes out to the left back ben romig played a year ago starter for east semi-state team primarily as one of the two outside backs looks like we're gonna have a free kick for north
coach gunship disagrees with the klein logan klein he he wants to know what the call was ref is not in for discussion jackson on the ball jackson doesn't beat the first defender and now east is on a counter quisenberry heavy touch intercepted by avila avila does nice to connect to jackson jackson gives it away out to white true blood a little sloppy for both teams right now and north regains possession and looks to settle down williams out wide to cardoso cardoso left footed ball to his back post well done by pete corydon gordon does a great job there picking that ball out of the air from a approaching nathan white well done by alex cordova mendes plays forward off the head of romine williams and cardoso a little miscommunication klein tries for the flick well
read by cordova cardozo inside to williams williams poked away by romine finds johnson johnson to williams williams tripped up by sanchez we're going to play on williams has a crack oh gordon off his line a little bit but good thing he's six foot three can still grab that ball good rip by jesse williams well won by johnson not sure about that but referee will call it back looks like ben romig's going to join the attack for east off of this free kick for hatcher and stopping the clock looks like both teams will get a water break so tonight the boys the boys are gonna play but last night it was the ladies and north came away with a 4-1 victory jenna lang kj ely alexis mckinley and claire livers all tallied goals for north lauren
barker with three assists ruth federally scored her very first goal for the east olympians as they both groups will look to rebound in the coming week during this water break we just want to say a quick shout out to all of our sponsors for making this live stream possible thank you for the hundreds who are watching right now live and maybe you're watching this later on thank you so much for watching all this is made possible by our partners at ruoff mortgage the title sponsor of our streaming this fall as well as the scoreboard sponsor ovation technology group also special thanks to first financial bank columbus wealth jolie development and jolie rentals also special thanks to overhead door of south central indiana because of our sponsors we are able to live stream the varsity games
for the girls soccer game last night boys tonight and then we'll be doing the columbus north columbus east football game on friday thank you again for tuning in and now back to ty smith thanks josh looks like east will restart play coach coach glover chatting up with the bulldogs it's like branson young and joe deckard have re-entered the game for east deckard making his first appearance for the night deckard a junior will be looked to connect passes and keep play moving probably in the middle of midfield young the young household uh this week is conflicted dave young and ej young they are the girls coaches for north what branson young is the starting center mid on the east boys team so i'm sure that mrs young was wearing blue last night and orange tonight good
crowd out here at dave greenfield at the richard y soccer complex again tonight always spirited rivalry game between north and east don't see any couches out tonight though roaming to look to play deep off the throw in hopeful ball towards the back side quissenberry takes a touch by johnson bodied by cordova quisenberry stays up plays inside avila intercepts finds cardoso cardoso looks long is going to connect with white and north's going to hold it up with williams williams out back to jackson jackson gives the ball away to east well done by north trying to transition realizing numbers were not in their favor laying it back unfortunate and unlucky with the last ball romig to play back in for east looks long whitley will let jorge avila deal with it avila i really like this kevin
sanchez kid good feet busy got a little grit to him he is a nice player for the olympians where confronted by cardoso and he's gonna where's going to regain possession regain play for east where down the right side looks like hatcher is going to dismiss that and play central well done by whitley young tries to shoulder flick intercepted by johnson johnson trying to find white picked up by true blood out wide doromic romig from confronted by mendez tiptoes pass mendez roaming into the final third good tackle by avila it's like jake jake hofflick a sophomore he will enter the game for logan klein hofflick very pacey player he's going to be looking to make diagonal runs in the area and create havoc in the box for east cleared by avila young another shoulder clearance picked
up by whitley whitley one of the promising freshmen for east or north excuse me cardoso step over final third left foot oh just over the bar well done by christian cardoso another promising freshman whitley jackson cardoso all freshman joining midfielder anthony johnson who's a freshman starter last season a good core of attacking players in the middle of the park for north um lilly very dynamic player good to touch able to hit a big boy ball um he's going to be a quality quality player over the years for north and coach glover hatcher well done white brought down not sure who the ref's talking to but he's told somebody to keep the commentary down hopefully it's not me where draws another foul adam ware might be sore tomorrow looks like ben romig's asking the east bench
if we can play with a little bit higher tempo hatcher another family that had uh players in the girls game and the boys game sister kylie got some minutes last night in the varsity contest for the girls aiden whitley sister lauren whitley played last night for the bulldogs mendes and quiz and barry's gonna pick that off looks like we're gonna have entries from two sophomores and a junior joe hefner is gonna come in for ben romig and trent liggett making his game's debut for bulldogs will holiday subs into the middle of midfield for north holliday is a very reliable passer he's going to look to keep play simple um and he very rarely gives the ball away unless i jinx him right here she connects wide to cardoso and where is going to win it
commentators jinx sorry andy williams william turns rolls looks plays a ball into the box cleared by true blood north will take a throw in the final third willie in the jackson jackson back hills out to car cordova picked off by sanchez sanchez looks along to hawflick hoffleck steps over it not fooled by eduardo cordova willie back to jackson jackson to whitley whaley out to cordova cordova clears looks like he's gonna pick find the foot of holiday holiday big touch looks to slip in liggett but picked up by mendez mendes into the final third cleared by true blood that will be a north corner from the other side now first opportunity for north on this side of the match 11 minutes 37 seconds remaining in the first half looks like whitley out to take the kick
for north zero zero all tied up between the olympians and bulldogs ball in and sanchez clears jackson finds holiday holiday tackled by quisenberry and east has numbers running forward hofflick from quisenberry avila gives chase offlick tries the meg intercepted by avila avila forward to williams williams holds up has liggett running inside well done by liggett like it holds up spins out tries a chance over cordon was about six yards off the off the goal line but that ball was a little too high good idea by trent liggett row mcgree enters and fan favorite number 19 brody kopis enters the game cope is a senior as you can hear the crowd chanting and cheering for him is an absolute fan favorite out here all the kids and all the students love brody copis cordon plays big
flicked on by young mendez finds saldivar south of our awkward tackle looks like he got maybe boots across the head by will holliday and that's going to be our first booking of the match high school means player ihsaa has a rule that if a player gets a yell card they must leave the field which is not the case in all fifa approved matches so anthony johnson will re-enter for the bulldogs hatcher played long it will be a north goal kick hi oreo to restart ariel plays long misheaded by deckard finds williams picked off mendez diagonal ball looking for cardoso well done by romick jackson takes like an outside the right foot opportunity just goes wide a little collision with ben romig holiday re-enters back home feels like he's going to give aidan whitley a break
holiday johnson plays long intercepted by romig holiday picks it up deckard connects inside of sanchez he's got front runners looks looking into space for copis cordova gives chase copis opportunity's just going to find the hands of colvin eye oreo seems like if east breaks a line and finds an advanced player in the midfield those players up front for east whether it's a two front a three front they are trying to get forward well done by the north back line to handle that in three on three situations branson young out of the air hoffleck settles finds decker decker to saltivar salvar outside the foot looking for a half flick looks like avila's going to get there avila mendez mendez plays long williams touches right connects with liggett holiday diagonal ball inside johnson over sanchez cardoso johnson
hopeful touch inside takes a touch looks like it may have come off of a hand from east no call by the referee we're going to play on east dodge is a bullet there avila dis misplay that no var at the bcsc live stream so we will not replay that looks like mendez frustrated plows hawflick good little flick by anthony johnson to get in the ball get in the box create a little opportunity for himself and may or may not have been handled by an olympian but we're gonna play on it never happened hatcher plays long ball in won by holiday cardoso in a pocket of space settles to liggett he's got williams running ahead of him ball's going to be a little too central corden's going to pick that up gordon looks at where says
he's going to play long players up and in flicks on avila's gonna clean that up jackson maradona's outside gonna draw foul from deckard well done by the freshman it's like both teams are going to open up blue north fullbacks getting into advanced positions jackson plays long looking to target mendes and that's going to go out of bounds for a east goal kick five minutes remaining in the match quizenberry and number three alberto sanchez enter for east taking off hoffleck and saldivar coach glover having a little chat with ian jackson jackson one of the promising freshmen for the bulldogs plays for the columbus express oh six orange team it's one of the higher quality teams in the midwest a key player in their success it's like jackson's going to get a break and aiden whitley is
going to re-enter for the game mateo mendez's throw a starter a year ago has secured his outside back position very athletic kid brings a lot of toughness and pace to the back line of the bulldogs throw again finds whitley willie tries to flick on read by deckard four minutes remaining this zero zero contest cleared over the lights by young liggett rainers to mendez mendez misplayed confronted by alberto sanchez it looks like the refs gonna bring that back a little extra curricular after the play gives north a free kick in a dangerous area and looks like east is going to hold their line at the top of the 18 with a big gap to play in for north ball into the mix because it's going to find cordova williams williams uh just wide almost beat coryn
with the header dangerous look for the bulldogs ben silva a sophomore midfielder also a dual sport athlete one of the uh better basketball prospects in bartholomew county he's going to step back in for east and give kevin sanchez a break corydon also a dual sport athlete basketball player he plays long quisenberry flicks on to alberto alberto looking for brodies finds franz quisenberry quisenberry 1v1 well done by eduardo cordova copis finds alberto swarm of blue it's going to poke out the quisenberry quisenberry toe puck saved by iorio quizzenberry has an uncanny ability to get through tight areas and come up with balls that seemingly doesn't seem that he should be getting creates opportunity after opportunity for east off of broken plays so quisenberry to take the kick ball driven in looks like it's off of copis
a couple of o's tumble over each other ball rolls by the back post two dangerous opportunities in the last couple minutes neither find the back of the net we're at one minute 30 seconds remaining in the half between the north dogs and the east os cordova off of iorio's punt goal kick wide joe hefner he's going to collect four east decides he's going to play it out mendes into williams williams unlucky touch finds hefner hefner quisenberry looking for copis in behind one minute sniffed out by cordova hatcher looks like it's gonna bounce up get him in the hand if it wasn't a foul we're gonna have a free kick about 26 yards out for north 43 seconds remaining notice there are no there is a running clock in this match once it hits zero time
is stopped unlike the international game once it's zeros across the board there's no injury or stoppage time whitley on the ball east puts a wall of four looks like there are some north players and advantageous positions for them whistle blows 20 seconds whitley just over the bar and i would assume corydon will put this out of play or not even attempt and we will end the half as zero zero and as the first half ends a back and forth contest between the number 18 columbus east olympians and the north bulldogs is 0-0 we're gonna take a quick break and come back with a few stats and you will hear from our sponsors stay tuned [Music] me [Music] each of your important loan documents into one secure space just a clickity click and before you know

bulldogs while pete gordon has made two saves for east will holliday found the book for an aggressive tackle in the middle of the park you'd have to think that both teams will look to take a few more chances on target and be a little bit more aggressive in the final third recapping last night's crosstown clasico for the ladies north beat east four to one with goals by jenna lang kj ely alexa mckinley and claire livers ruth federally tallied her first career goal for the olympians player of the match offensively went to claire livers and allison craig and anna limata earned the defensive player of the match for east we are almost underway here another beautiful evening at david greenfield at the richard y soccer complex jesse williams on the ball for north like no big
changes lineup wise for either team in fact starters for both groups back in looks like the same system and shape and the second half is off whitley controls looks long and that's going to be played out by hatcher hatcher deflected by williams out to romine jackson romine bodies off white williams down the right side fakes out cuts in fakes back out pushes it down the byline service and that's going to earn north a corner pretty good job by jesse williams there creating space getting off of service jackson to take the kick you have to think white who is denied one opportunity out of the air is going to be a key target for this and we're going to come out not sure looks like cardoso was being handsy with pete corden back there we're gonna
come out with an east free kick corydon big brother of legendary danny corden as middle schooler at st bartholomew cordova silva klein to quisenberry to alberto eduardo cordova clears to white white settles looks to combine with williams williams gets a toe on it out to where deflected by cardoso duel header with romeg and where jackson works down the left side confronted by silva gonna play combined with cardoso where picks it up gonna give north another throw in the final third williams down the byline stood up by where pull back down the line tiptoe looks like branson young's gonna slide through concede a corner worth quite a few corners this evening showing that they're getting into dangerous areas putting pressure on the backs usually from wide areas jackson looks like it's going to be cleared out
by romig quiz and barry in the first the second ball and the next ball he's gonna earn a throw off of nathan white roma rome romine not romig weston romine another dual sport athlete for the olympians wonder if he listens to this he will finally join express soccer club in the spring cordova looks long he's got cardoso in the area cardoso takes a touch cuts back to his right well done by where finds williams though cordova fakes plays inside to williams williams stood up by romig and cleared out by hatcher corbin hatcher veteran center back he knows nothing fancy about putting a toe right through it and get in and out of there better safe than sorry mendes gonna get another north throw williams goes outside cuts back inside well done by roman romine klein
looking long for quisenberry quisenberry gives chase cordova decides not to play back he's going to play out gunsher coach gunter could have done me a favor and moved romig and romine to opposite sides of the field that would be very helpful i get the most both the sanchez brothers but these two i'm getting hung up on ball long hatcher gives chase jesse williams shapes the field forces ball inside that's going to be won by jackson jackson looking for whitley is going to be picked off by young quisenberry he's in quisenberry touch inside of the box avila chasing him down quiz and bury the backside picked up by i oreo those are the type of broken plays i'm talking about with chris quisenberry he has very high speed he gives chase when you think that you
have the ball one and you relax he's still gonna press he's still gonna go get the ball very dangerous to deal with puts a lot of pressure on those backs cardoso and just got attacked by a horse fly up here next year bcsc complex inside the nice press box won't have to worry about that avila klein presses hi oreo picks it up the edge of the area sanchez flick header negative silva in the half space connects looking for a quiz and break question barry touched by cordova draws it foul and that's going to put cordova in the book eduardo cordova he's going to get a booking he will have to leave the field momentarily looks like senior jake gilliam is going to enter 15 first time jacob gilliam gilliam also relatively new to the sport
started playing a few years ago um quality athlete is usually plays in the front half of the field for his club team but plays in the back the back end for north this year provides some depth at a center back position with some athletic prowess out of the air quiz and barry to serve hopeful ball well done by iorio is caught out luckily his backs cleared it out oh cordoso on balance but bounces off silver fortunate to regain the throw cordova looks long it's not on he's going to play into johnson unlucky bounce quiz and barry picks up attacks of space gilliam into the game wins his first tackle bromine down the line for sanchez sanchez tiptoes by whitley looks like mendes slides it out of bounds east deep throw romaine's going to leave it
for romig look to see branson young or logan klein targeted on this for the first ball or maybe the second ball depending on the toss romig into the area won by gilliam gilliam getting some action after just appearing ooh western romaine dangerous ball any ball from a half space a wide area to the diagonal back side is always going to cause trouble for the opponent's back quiz and berry draws another flower it's starting to get chippy out there and always appreciate the comments from the students some of them are looking to get their free license quiz and barry strikes gonna curl out of bounds relatively quiet crowd sam larkin a senior and nathan imlay a sophomore enter as front runners for the bulldogs lark in an all-conference selection last year as a center back and
i'm lay a young attacking player who earned a varsity letter last year for north look to see i'm lay and where compete and see who wins the athletic battle klein down the end line looks inside alberto nope wants a penalty no ref says we're not we're not playing that tonight gonna give you a corner instead alberto still pleading his case starts laughing probably knew that he was overselling it can't knock the hustle though quiz and barry to take the kick romig gets in looks like east is gonna crowd the keeper play towards the looks like a little extracurricular activity in the box um we're going to re replay this east with a little stack at the near post in a man marking system that's going to bring more bodies in front of the keeper rome
extends to the backside it's not going to beat the first defender whitley clears he plays long larkin gives chase where faces up where takes a touch wide looks like larkin made enough contact to disrupt where and whitley tosses it in ball into the final third where he's gonna give larkin and the bulldogs a throw got a couple athletes right on the line gotta get those photos for the yearbook larkin finds i'm lay i'm lay steps inside he's gonna lay it back to johnson johnson stands through a tackle takes a rip left foot gonna be a little bit wide good connection with uh larkin i'm laying johnson there just mishit it a little bit it's a good look for the bulldogs corydon flicked by jackson finds alberto alberto with the megs it's on tonight and klein
looking in behind gilliam's going to clean that up plays back ty oreo oh off of larkin larkin flicks to white white's going to touch by romine he's got i'm laying in the middle up looks like he just misplayed the cross cordon easy work there good job nate corden plays long flicked off of cordova gilliam pressed by quisenberry decides he's gonna just give it to east two uh a little bit contrasting styles out of the back north looking to get their outside backs a little bit more involved than east east is gonna keep typically three at home which allows north to play they're two of their three front runners a little bit higher you'll see with east they're dropping in one of their two front runners to pick up first second balls and then have another
opportunity in branson young tiptoes inside looks to combine with alberto a little bit outside great ideas by the olympians there to try to break pressure in some congested areas i oreo mendez off the neck finds white white connects inside to jackson jackson flicks inside the ref decides to get in the way of johnson johnson recovers plays out to whitley whitley back inside to johnson johnson intercepted by alberto kevin olay around mendez and mendez is going to probably nope not it's going to avoid a booking there probably is deserving of one just take this stern lecture instead little cheeky play by kevin sanchez earns a free kick by east hatcher into the box won by gilliam white looks inside the larkin picked off by romig club teammates romig again well done by avila jorge villa interesting
trajectory and uh development over the course of the years they predominantly a unsung hero in the midfield and coach glover has handed him the reigns to play as the center back and he's getting rave reviews from the coaching staff so it's really nice to see a good kid like jorge avila stepping in and earning his time as a senior not a better player out there not a better kid out there larkin looks like jackson's gonna flick a ball inside done done by silvas i'm gonna clear out great catch by ball boy ben stevens look at those hands and eduardo cordova re-enter the game 25 minutes remain in the second half of tonight's crosstown clasico between the bulldogs and olympians we are at a zero zero score line larkin touches down the line let's it create
against roman roman pokes inside to jackson jackson laid back to mendes mendes hopeful ball picked off by silva bulldog's starting to play a little bit whitley into jackson jackson out wide to mendes mendes hopeful ball back in same thing silva intercepts back to quisenberry confronted by avila now we have space klein gives chase space odd man break unlucky by east cordova does just enough to break up the counter situation again we for the bulldogs it's going to be really important how do they handle the two front runners and the third man running for east in those counter situations romine and looks like klein is going to earn a free kick from a foul from mendez quiz and barry just on the edge of the box two-man wall for the bulldogs quizenberry on the ball a
little bit surprised we don't get somebody like corbin hatcher in on these quiz and barry takes a shot on goal pushed over the bar by iori i'm not sure iorio saw that coming wide area it looks a little bit like it should be a service assumingly um quizzenberry had a crack at it and not too bad of an opportunity quiz and barry's gonna take the kick from the other side this time but iorio did just enough to push that ball over the bar quiz and barry duffed by sal davar it's going to come out to young young down the byline slips falls into salvar ball in the middle of the box kline just wide great opportunity and look for east branson young keeps the ball alive bounces through logan klein in front of the net
just a few inches wide would have put the o's on the board but we play on i oreo plays long over the head of whitley silva gilliam young does well there coach glover instructing the boys in blue to let's get the ball down and let's play a little bit eduardo outside the football it's going to be picked off by young but larkin picks it up whitley sizes up silva is going to play inside looks to connect with johnson picked off by sanchez eduardo settles down pressed by quisenberry plays long hatcher miss clarence picked up by alex cordova cordova combines with lark and larkin and we are going to have this ball is going to be brought back to the edge of the area after the play looks like romig fouls cordova about 21 yards out
just in front of the goalkeeper's left hand post if i know anything about aiden whitley and ian jackson they're gonna be rock paper scissoring to see who takes this one looks like jackson threw a rock and whitley threw scissors jackson over the ball let's see if the the time spent on the training ground has worked jackson over the bar wasted opportunity by the bulldogs but still in the game jesse williams and christian the youngster will do better i'm laying larkin sub off for north quality minutes up front for them created a couple opportunities williams back in and cardoso jackson just a freshman he's got a promising promising career ahead of him very excited to see how he progresses from his freshman through senior years and beyond jackson picks it up right on cue tiptoes outside
gets his head up cuts it back looking for somebody to play with a little bit on an island right now he's got mendez mendez back into jackson jackson settles with the chest puts a dangerous ball into the box cordova settles tries to center in front jack williams not ready to run cord corydon will pick it up 1920 remaining in the match of this 0-0 contest between the dogs and the o's cordova plays out adam where to [Music] water break tonight time for a water break no it's a little breezy up here it's probably about 10 degrees cooler at warmer on the field level we're going to take a quick break and hear from our sponsors thank you once again ty this is josh burnett bcsc communications coordinator hope that you are enjoying this live stream
crosstown confrontation between columbus north and columbus east ties doing a great job representing both the columbus express soccer club but also commentating this game it's very obvious that he knows these guys and girls very well has gotten to know their games and i know that i'm personally enjoying just all the commentary that he's been providing us and i hope that maybe you're a long time viewer and passionate fan of soccer and you're used to great commentating like this but i know personally i'm enjoying getting to know the soccer game more and more through ties broadcast tonight i want to say a special thank you to our sponsors ruoff mortgage ovation technology group columbus wealth first financial bank jolie development and jolie rentals and overhead door of south central indiana thank you for tuning in to
watch this game between columbus north and columbus east and i'll correct that just for you ty this is a match and thank you for checking out tonight's live stream action back to you ty thanks josh with 19 minutes and six seconds remaining in the zero zero contest adam ware will restart play both teams giving instruction looks like flynn keel is going to enter the match for the bulldogs a left footed sophomore very versatile player he's going to take a run at right back where with his textbook throw in to klein and jackson heads down true blood puts his foot through it and iorio will restart the play flynn back over to the left side he's gonna say that's probably where he needs to be keel first touch of the match doing what he does connects
passes out to whitley whitley picked off by saldivar jackson looks like he took a knock there we got williamson out on the left flank dangerous ball in looks like he's gonna the linesman's gonna bring that back williams was offside i have to think both both coaches instructions have to be can we settle down can we string together some more passes um for for east they want to keep playing on the counter they want to keep trying to play off of klein and quisenberry and bring other players into the fold for the bulldogs it's can we build and get the outside backs involved in higher positions where we can play a little bit more conservative with more players avila well done turns inside of jackson jackson out to cordova cordova looking to play into whitley giving
away picked off by true blood avila to klein a little bit of the bouncing ball right now stood up by johnson logan klein 13 goals last season four east quality attacking target man for eos where restarts fall in it's like jorge to gilliam willie does well there bringing it out of the air confronted by deckard williams looks to bring in cardozo got an overlapping holiday unfortunate by cardoso whitley will pick it up though olay brings it back out to jack johnson johnson stood up by sanchez johnson wins that whitley well he's looking at he's getting a little bit more confident as this game is going on you start seeing him with some more pullbacks a little tricks and some flicks cordova earns a corner for the dogs north relatively small group on the field right
now um gotta think gilliam's gotta get involved in the mix on this corner whitley to take it cardoso had the last one whistled back by confronting corydon see if he can be a good boy and willie must do better there gotta give the boys a chance restart with east east coming off a match this week with bloomington north where they earned a 2-0 victory coach guncher was quite liberal with his subbing expecting a intense match with the dogs later in the week north been off since their saturday evening match with avon johnson just outside substitution for the olympians joe hefner joe hefner reenters the game half daddy quality quality outside back solid player very reliable cordon duff's it's going to be picked up by holiday holiday finds whitley willie touches sizes up deckard's gonna play
the other way out looking for keel a little too much whitley and keel a little bit of north soccer royalty seth quill i believe flynn's father is the all-time leading scorer for north of not mistaken and aiden whitley's father dane was one of the first mr soccers in indiana so and they are being coached as an assistant coach by dave green the man that coached both of their fathers so neat little story line i'm sure that there's some dinnertime stories shared between the whitley's and the keels about coach green over the years dave green indiana hall of famer namesake for this field it's been involved with the program after a hiatus and coaching at hanover college with the women's team with hanover college women's soccer coach jim watts williams touches by he's got to look
to release the ball there stood up by trio of olympians whitley down the by line tiptoes by where where regains and it's going to be another north corner 12 minutes and 55 seconds remain in the match still in a 0-0 deadlock looks like aidan whitley on the ball four north fall into the backside keel sorry that was jesse williams hey we have an eye doctor sponsor for this i might need to go can't see it on the other side of the field cordova touches in it's going to be picked up by corden it's like we're going to draw a foul on the edge of the box eduardo cordova alex cordova as well tiptoeing getting forward coach glover instructing eduardo and jorge avila how he wants them to defend again east very dangerous on counters looks
like quisenberry is going to enter the box east treats it like a corner will he drives the ball to the backside christian cardoso off of a ball from aidan whitley gives the bulldogs a 1-0 lead with 11 38 remaining in the match cardoso i believe first career goal one he will always remember let's see how east responds gunshot not pleased with the call leading to it great ball by whitley better header by cardoso and puts the dogs up one to nothing cardoso looks inside intercepted by true blood roaming down the line quisenberry sizes up gilliam looks inside double team by johnson cleared by avila hatcher steps forward gilliam plays along cardoso flicks on joe hefner is gonna clear it's gonna give north a throw set pieces number number of corners given for north finally capitalize
on a free kick outside the box freshman to freshman connection between aidan whitley and christian cardoso is the difference thus far looks like we're gonna sub ian jackson's gonna re-enter the maybe not maybe eventually hatcher to true blood looks like ian jackson's gonna re-enter the match on for the bulldog number 16 ian jackson anthony johnson's going to come off and get it probably get a quick quick break and re-enter for the dogs williams deep in the corner confronted by hatcher hatcher knocks it out patrick barking at his backs bulldogs number 11 nathan white nate white enters the game nathan white state champion fifa player esports fifa championship smashed everybody brought home columbus express the esports title which we are so proud of kevin sanchez re-enters for alejandro saldivar one of my mentors as a young
coach when i was coaching in college he said most one goal games are decided by wing service and set pieces and no true statement tonight thus far looks like klein or quisenberry klein is going to be put in the book now as he sprints off wing service and set piece decide a lot of one goal games and we've had a goal that is a little bit of both wide set piece is the difference thus far klein in the book third booking of the night adam ware enters where tons of pace one of the better athletes in columbus looks like the linesman and the sender are going to dispute the call but the center is going to overrule east toss klein looking to re-enter the match after his yellow card joe hefner is going to come
off look for east to be a little bit more urgent despite having eight minutes left still plenty of time to get back into the game if you ask my 2007 boys team they know that teams can score two goals in a minute and i'm still bitter about it so bromine the snag by ball boy parker gribbons young express player with a very bright future i oreo flicked up by holiday deckard willie's going to play play wide to cordova pressed by where where forces the giveaway cleaned up by true blood in decline he's starting to play with a little bit more pep in their step where carrie's down the sideline barked by romig connie left on an island with his teammates does tries to find somebody the east players instructing ware the speed merchant to push
the ball down the line and advance the game hi oreo in no rush and the refs noticed the refs really noticed and we're gonna stop the clock iorio plays long young holiday battle for it it's going to come out to white white large frame well won by hatcher hatcher another one looks like we're gonna have a throw in for north gilliam to take it quiz and barry playing in more advanced position klein's going to drop underneath seeing if he gonna alter the plan for most of the match where quizenberry was dropping into the midfield ball in the corner looks like that's going to go corydon's going to restart four east he's going to want to play quick alberto sanchez going to re-enter for joe decker sanchez back on for the olympians been very impressed with
both the sanchez brothers i like the flare that both of them play with quizzenberry cordova court cordova's versus sanchez brothers that would be a fun battle to watch the root and physicality of the cordovas and the flare of the sanchez is well done by jorge avila slides through looks like that's going to bounce off of quizzenberry the ref rules for a goal kick on for the bulldogs for the first time number nine jesus hernandez jesus hernandez is a senior he's going to make his game debut he's going to play up high and nate imlay is going to step in as the left back ayorio plays wide easter regains control sanchez heavy touch out of bounds four minutes remaining christian cardoso spearheaded goal is the difference thus far and adam ware 70 yard run looks like
intercepted by cordova like to see east settle down a little bit there's still plenty of time no need to rush into issues i'm way looks to switch through avila avila not comfortable plays it out three minutes 23 seconds remaining in the match where looks like it slipped out of his hand it's going to be headed by i'm lay it's going to ride out for an east throw and we're gonna and clock will stop brody copis gets in number 19 ben romig to take the throw cam true blood comes off looks like east is gonna throw [Music] all of their backs forward they're gonna hold with hatcher 1v1 at midfield with williams romig waiting on the refs whistle ref doing his math how many players do we have we got enough we got too many let's
play paul bouncing in bromine deflected off of klein unfortunate could have been the tying goal good look a little unlucky by east hi oreo it's gonna play short to whitley whitley takes a touch plays long gonna sneak by where for an east throwing in front of their bench hatcher sprints over to grab it where chuck's down the line whitley miss cleared gonna pick up with alberto alberto gets a little extra with eduardo cordova quisenberry touches down the inline little extracurricular and that's gonna be a booking if not not certain of what happened we saw a little collision but we got eduardo and alberto both are going to take off for their yellow cards i'm sure that the refs gonna stop the clock and add a little extra time on to the clock the first foul
was on eduardo cordova that warranted a yellow retaliation by alberto sanchez brings the second he's gonna add put us at two minutes and 20 seconds quiz and berry in a dangerous area looks like north is going to hold a line at the 18. it's like a man marking system for north east has a lot of players central and towards the back side quisenberry is going to look to slide this ball he's going to look to slide this ball probably in what we call the corridor of uncertainty between the edge of the six and the penalty and recent developments it looks like eduardo cordova had his second yellow he is going to be sent off and north is going to have to play for the remaining 2 minutes and 20 seconds a man down so coach
glover's got decisions to make how do we take who do we take off to play with ten it's unfortunate nothing malicious about either card with eduardo just playing hard but coach clover thinking through his decision looks like sam larkin's gonna leave the field and north is gonna have to play with 10 for the remaining two minutes looks like quisenberry restarts north man down ball into the box where it's like romine second chance gonna be deflected picked up by iorio well played both sides always helpful you got those six street keepers which east and north boasts both have ayorio plays long picked off by young fireworks sure to be in these last two minutes whether from the fouling or goal scoring variety jackson restarts after a young foul jackson it's gonna be picked up by holiday
young presses through it's gonna go off of him throw four north it's like jesse williams and corbin hatcher are going to battle down on the down in the edge hatcher two hands into the back's gonna draw a foul for the dogs similar area to the goal see how north handles it with one minute left looks like no urgency to take it jackson on the ball looking back post for nathan white white volley is going to go out of bounds for a goal kick for east 53 seconds remaining corydon looks to pump it long whitley wins the header where back up willie again romine back in the middle well done by will holliday romig controls pushes forward pressed by white does enough finds young on the left side long young tiptoes by gilliam looks like two
dogs involved there what will happen with the clock we will stop the clock on 20 seconds left let's see if coach gunter's got something straight from the training ground they have worked on moments like this set pieces in dangerous areas looks like quizzenberry is going to be on the ball and corbin hatcher is going to get involved for east sam larkin it's like he's gonna have to come in for jorge avila who picked up a card there corydon doing his best emmanuel neuer impression playing in the attacking half circle 20.1 seconds left in the crosstown classico we will not go to overtime if this ball finds the back of the net which it does chris quisenberry equalizes with 16.8 seconds off of the free kick we are at 1-1 with 16.8 remaining wide service and
set pieces deciding factors in one goal games we've got two wide services from set pieces east one north one 16.8 seconds remaining in the match what a finish by quisenberry curled it to the back post snuck it by iorio all the east traffic in front great finish and north will attack white 12 seconds left ware puts his foot through it pumps it into the attacking half what a response by east knew there would be fireworks in the last two minutes was not disappointing a lot of dejected fans in blue a lot of excited fans in white great finish by both groups expect to see both of these teams competing for a 3 a sectional championship which will be held at the bcsc soccer complex and likely if one of the teams in blue or orange
comes through with that they are gonna be very dangerous team to see in the regional semi-state and beyond rivalry soccer matches to recap the evening and aidan whitley service finds christian cardoso for the 1-0 lead for columbus north but a chris quisenberry free kick with 20 seconds remaining equalizes it and we leave david green soccer complex at richard y david green soccer field at ritual soccer complex with a 1-1 tie between the number 18 east olympians and the columbus north bulldogs we're going to take a moment to thank our sponsors and we'll come back with player of the game wow what a finish tie that was amazing just to see the end of the game you are never out especially in a crosstown clasico as you called it thai when it's north and east you

last 20 seconds so uh quizzenberry's clutch free kick um equalizes it four four east he is the attacking player of the game for east defensively i was very impressed with the organization from the north center back particularly jorge avila he was very solid in all of his 1v1 opportunities he anticipated very well he kept playing in front of him and i would have to give jorge the nod for defensive player of the game great match between both teams really excited and really interested to see what the sectional draw is going to be hopefully they're on opposite sides of the bracket because i want to go on a saturday evening in october and i want to watch the dogs and the olympians play for some hardware so great match thanks for everyone coming out here's josh
