All those in favor of approving the consent agenda items signify by saying I. I. I. Opposed same sign. Abstentions? Motion carried. Next we have F 9 action agenda item? None? Superintendent's report? Yeah, I am trying to pull up the the finance report. Finance Cycle program. Meanwhile, um the middle school and the high school kids um today came down to the auditorium to do their TED site TED Ed site event. So those kids got up on stage and gave their TED Talks in front of um their the student body. Um which is a big deal, right? Um it's it's one thing
to to give your talk in front of a panel of judges who you don't know, [clears throat] but to be able to do that in front of your peers um is is pretty impressive. So really really proud of them. Um yeah, so we are gearing up for May 16th is our event. So we will um the kids, the youth speakers have auditioned and and we know who made the big stage and um so we're just waiting on their speaker graphics and then we'll start to push that out. So um our school community community can can know who's who's going to be on stage and um putting all the volunteers we can get. So Yeah. How many middle school and high school? One high schooler, three middle school. The rest are elementary. And all three elementary
buildings are represented. And then we have four adult speakers. So again, we want to get as many people as we can in that music center on on May 6th. It's a free event. Um first 300 in the door get a really cool swag bag with them. Doors open at 8:30. Yep, but it talks earlier. TED Talks start at 10. Food trucks, all kinds of stuff. So we'll keep pushing it out there to people. Um yeah. And if you want to volunteer, is there some place to do that? There is. In my weekly message in fact there's a link to volunteer. Yeah. So yeah. Okay, finance. Um Again, this is the the operations uh for March of 2026. Um so you you can see you guys have it in front of you, those that are in
the audience um you can see how it's formatted up here on the screen. Um we have the different categories um and then then how much we spent out of each of those categories, but it's really nice that Megan puts together a little summary in the note section so so we can synthesize some of it. Um for March our overall expenses in operations were up by 50,000 um and then bus contractors were down by 24,000. Uh we had spring break in there, right? So so we don't we don't pay for that. >> Can I make a comment on the bus contractor? Yeah. Uh last last few times we've got this it shows the bus contractors being a usually the largest amount. Well, that also includes fuel and employees' insurance and all that. I just don't want
people to think we're throwing 120 grand in our pocket running or anything like that. So just wanted to bring that up. It includes all expenses. >> Yeah yeah yeah, that's Yeah, I wish. So but I I think and this is a really good example like the the next one says janitorial is up by 8,000. It Again, it's really really hard to take from one month to the next month and be able to compare month to month exact with exact amounts. Um like the timing of invoices for the janitorial, we had two of them that were in the same month, right? So because of the timing of when they invoice us, it did will dictate how much we have to pay out for that month. Um maintenance is up by 16. You think about the snow
removal, bills have to be paid. Um if you remember we opted out of our contract with Cintas. Well, when you opt out of that contract with Cintas, you you still have to be able to purchase um supplies that we need. So there was an increase at in high grade. Um our professional services are down. Again, this is the timing of billing. Um we have noted that we will have several payments or maybe multiple payments that we're going to have in April. So although they're down by 8,000, we're going to see it probably uptick in April. What's professional services again? Professional services um gosh is is kind of a miscellaneous. So our attorney fees are in there. Um I think about our contracts with like our copiers and our leases, things like that. >> Okay. Uh
technology is up by 10. Um Priden actually is a technology. Those are our cop our lease with our copiers. So they do a monthly service and it's about $4,800 each month. Well, we paid two of them um in one month. So that's that that's why you see technology up about 10,000. Um and then our utilities are up. I feel like this is the one constant that we have and that we see is utilities um keep going up and you can see the list of of why there. Think about the propane. We didn't fill propane at Helmsburg or Sperry Nica in February. So there was an up cost there. Well, they just filled it. So we have to pay that bill, which is why you see such a large increase there. Um and and so forth.
I think the other thing to note, it's something that we had a discussion about was um water. Up across seemed to be significantly higher than last month. Do you know why water was up? Not yet. Not yet. Um it it's not something where it's like an alarm or something was paid wrong or or there was an error, but it was enough for us to to look at and say, "Okay, we need to dig a little bit to see um some trends." Where is there a leak? That was last question. month. We have not had a water leak in those areas since That's how I feel. We did confirm that. Yes, that's right. Anyway, so So, yeah. And And then you can see down below just try to give you, "Hey, here was what we paid
in operations for February. Here's what we paid in March." Um, and then always kind of think about, "Okay, well, where were we? What were we spending last year at this time compared to this year?" And so, you can see they're they're relatively close there. Only up about $8,000 from March 2025 to March 2026. So, that's a that's a good indicator. Um Thank you. Mhm. And then, uh, the board also has, um education. And you also have your fund reports, so you can see year-to-date and month-to-date in each of those fund reports. And that's all I have. Thank you. Mhm. Thank you. Any questions? Uh, the next item is claims. We have two emails that were sent out that had a few claims. I'll entertain a motion to approve claims. I move to approve the recommendations
of the claims. Is there a second? I'll second. Any discussion? All those in favor of approving claims signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed, same sign. Uh, abstentions? Motion carried. Okay. Before you move to adjourn the meeting, I just you asked about professional services. Um, I know that's probably really hard for you guys to see up on that spreadsheet, but when we click in the table, it there is another copy of these. So, this one is legal. It's just a different vendor than the one that we have under technology. I'm not sure why we have one under technology and and one under professional services. Um We have district central office supplies, um, the shredding of documents that comes under a professional service. Um, our background checks that we do comes under a professional service, and
then our legal, um, which would be our attorney services. So, those are examples of They're not the only ones, but they're the only ones we paid in March. So. With that, I will entertain a motion to adjourn. I'll move to adjourn. Second? I'll second. Any discussion? All those in favor of adjourning signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed, same sign. Motion carried.
