001you should have desire the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation and under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all okay and you start commuting at 6 31 are there any modifications yes we have an action needed item for the recommendation to approve the retirement notice of Pam Bond effective June 12 2023 this notice includes the beaver bridge and then we also have a consent agenda item of the sub of a separation for Brown County School Corporation nurse Elizabeth HIll which is effective May 26 2023. do I have a motion to accept the modifications through the agenda as presented I still move I have a second any discussion I'll have it later Carol yes Vicky yes Stephanie yes Doug yes motion carries thank you uh next we

002have recognition and visitors and comments from the audience not on the agenda yeah this is our usual part darling first thingy um I know it's kind of a computer Council um that we really appreciate all the great work with Emily and Tracy we've been uh probably working very hard past probably six months uh that referendum our teacher presence on meeting regular basis on the June meeting we exchanged in our opinions of feedback we're going to have is Tracy uh participating in our group meeting next Tuesday we really wanted to know what kind of general direction School Board is having about referendum so that PTO can align with you and probably kind of add more force on it so that's kind of our general and also that we really I will essentially invite all of you

003to join uh the PTO concert it's dinner start school PM you are invited and it just opened the public and we have enough food to cover here thank you all right and with that um presentation I've been looking forward to doing this for quite a while so what I'm going to talk about briefly do you have the outline okay okay well I'm going to talk first about the property line between the State Road 46 and the playground and the conditions of the wall and the fence as it is now your existing grades in the playground area is in what we're going to do to change it plans for refurbishing the existing brick walls the plans for increasing the height of the existing wall around the place and I'll talk a little bit about Eddie's racing

004tomorrow where it's extra high the acoustical testing we did and the preliminary processments and some artwork possibilities and benefits I'll get it started conditions first okay so the wall is 600 feet long it ranges from about four and a half to five or five and a half feet high because the Limestone Captain has changed my expense over the top the deterioration though has occurred primarily at the bottom but it's all over it's that high it's because the brick is absorbed water and then when it freezes it falls off because the West corner and it's cracked right under the where the spots go into the wall this is the east side corner where it's off the foundation and it's cracked severely the Limestone cap holds the post in place and it goes down in the brick

005and it's the posts are in good shape and I think we could save those in paint them but the frenzy is resting and the water is getting in these joints here I'll do it okay great okay so one problem we have is the trees that are growing into the fence so to replace the fence is going to be requiring either to remove the trim the trees or take them down their hawthorns storage the branches fall off in the playground where the kids are with thorns I've been talking to the state about that this is the inside of a playground wallow and this is the west side next to the speedway okay we'll talk about a minute this is a grain that exists in the corner of the Northeast part of it but in that drain

006line currently goes around the building underground comes out down here and picks up to these down structures okay here's the dragons so then it goes into this covered it goes under the drive as you drive in from the street and then it comes out the other side it goes into a big culvert it goes west and comes out over here by the BP that's where all that water between that drain that's it was like where it goes now if you look on your hamburgers the first sheet shows you that there's 47 feet from the center of the road to the brick wall yeah then the next shade okay this is so this is the building in the black line the 46 is out here and the water is draining to this drain over here that

007I showed you and the rest of it's draining pretty much and going through the fence to the speedway okay maximum is a plan that's playground equipment companies made and we're gonna eventually Design This to where it's elevated to where it brings off with the playground area next one is the nude range plan for civil engineers we will leave this part here that drains to the existing drain but the rest of it will drain towards the fence or towards the wall towards this fence and there'll be a French drain that's a drain with gravel above it so the water goes to the wall and it goes down the ground gets in the Pike and then it goes out to this cover it's this is uh the original drawing in 1970 61 of the fence from the

008garden the drawing that you made from that the actual concrete foundation 16 inch thick brush wall and the six foot chain link fence on top C1 raise the the wall above the existing brick six feet and then over on the west side over the left we'll add a new 742 foot wall and that will be to help stop and stop the sounds good for sketches of how we do that this is the existing wall where we add the oh six feet or five or six feet of wall on top and we cover that with driver which is this kind of material that you have on the front of your building here and the gym as well so we will fill in all those broken brick areas with a kind of a mortar put a mesh

009on it put another finish another mesh coat and then this Finch coat on both sides so that's kind of quiet what it looks like and seal it up knew we would also put a metal cap on the top of the wall and in the new wall we'd build with concrete block and when Framing and achieving and thriving over all of it so it fixed all the brick wall That's existing all the way down to 600 feet and then for the the playground area we would add on top of the existing wall and we build a new wall kind of a match yes foreign match all the way it'll just be higher around so I'd be up around 11 feet this is uh just an engineer's drawing that I had I had my engineer do a

010feasibility study on how we could add on top of the bridge so we recommended doing a bracing some extra bracing with uh blocks there's more decides about every 15 20 feet I haven't had it engineered yet but it would support that walk because when it's actually high so it would have to put braces well it was the on the wall that we had the extension yeah and the dude wall okay right right and then this is uh the acoustical ratings just for reference and what we're doing by the report that we got from acoustical company says that we will get the level of sound down to kind of a quiet uh background noise quiet Urban neighborhood or less um because that says 50. I'm just curious um The Crucible reports to includes with the reduction

011of noise at the playground to an average of 46 decibels in the cost estimate number nine so to do to replace the chain link fence with the new black fins ain't proposed the metal cap on the wall prepare it with the drive to those and extend the walls up to 11 feet around the playground and be able to do well be about 340 . some days well um I would be glad to give y'all a proposal for doing the construction drawings and specifications for putting it out I'm just talking a general idea that after after that part of statement so that would take probably two to three months to get that ready then we did it and that would take it out of mine and then the construction could start probably in late summer maybe

012in the fall that's kind of it right and then once the construction starts how long do they think that oh I would say probably two to three months okay part of that depend on the state but I try to keep it as simple as possible for that state all the state has to approve as us digging down and then putting the dirt back on the outside of the wall because yes the dirt coverage up the bottom part of the break and that's where it's deteriorated so we need to take it out waterproof it all around the concrete and then right so how much I got an estimated civil engineers I got an estimate well I paid for Access enough for my contracting company to to figure the uh adding your walls and to build the

013new walls and then I got another quote from a guy that does the drive-in they can fix the wall and we finish it and then I got another price for the metal caps and I think it's important to to know that this the funding for this would come out of our current Bond money so this this doesn't take an additional hit to any of our um funds but you got a breakdown of what their work while work and everything is I have estimates for all that right thanks yeah I've got an excavate and replace the soil next to the 600 feet of about eight thousand dollars this work is so important to the licensing of the facility we cannot license without it it's not considered a safe thing around the area now you just go

014out there and put your equipment because of that flaking the kids can pick it up now and put it in their mouths and it's it's a safe so um in the sound I appreciate you figuring out the sound problem because I'm going out there and standing there and just talking to an adult you can hardly hear what they're saying much less a little you know two or three year old it would be unsafe not to be able to hear someone calling you or calling for help or you know just needing assistance questions okay thank you sir very much [Music] public session minutes a second any discussion broke up Carol yes okay yes Stephanie yes I have the recommendation to approve the out of state professional leave request for Amy Kroll to attend the Uncharted learning

015National Summit in Chicago Illinois July 9th to the 12th 2023 just do animation to accept the recommendation for the out-of-stage professional leadership has presented I still moved any discussion what is the Uncharted learning Grant and this professional development is also completely funded through our three-year Grant programs any other questions Amy Carol yeah Mickey yeah yeah yes motion carries towards this next and the recommendation to approve the listed serial numbers to be marked for disposal these are obsolete computers and speakers that have been removed from use iMac 2013 series and ending with the God knows all right a second any discussion so their disposal what happens to them inside would have disposes of them even I don't know all I know is I take it to a location that's that okay so if I can recycle

016place or something I would assume so we we try to send back all of our um obsolete parts that we do we have an e-way spin down there that we usually take two okay okay digital broadcast now we did profile Carol yes thank you yes yes yes sorry next and the recommendation to the second read and Adoption of the Neola policy updates for volume 35 number one uh do Evolution to approve the second reading adoption of renewal and policy for the whole left policies by a verified number one starting with bylaw and policies and ending with uh transportation any discussion legendary and the recommendation to approve the retirement notice of Pam Bond affected June 12 2023 this notice includes the Viva Bridge you have a motion to accept this recommendation uh Dan Bond's retirement yes

01920 May 26 2023. you have a motion to accept a separate relations beginning with the wrestling coach Justice Carrera by effective April 26 and ending with the corporation nurse Elizabeth HIll effective May 26th second a discussion roll call Carol yes yes Stephanie yes yes superintendent's report um yeah thank you it's really short tonight I want to thank Pam um I only got two of those 24 years but I can't thank you enough for your service and your leadership um and everything that you've taught me in two years so thank you for my whole heart um I also want to thank Debbie Harmon and Michael shampley for all of your work um on the Early Education Center in the wall and to be able to get that to what it needs to be for our kids

020and and the future of that Center so um it's not easy so thank you and thank you for staying here um I I do want to take the time to to publicly thank the board um the board has recently given me a green light to pursue the process of potentially putting the referendum on the May 2024 ballot so my next steps as uh Superintendent at Brown County Schools want to be to develop stakeholder groups um to begin some brainstorming and strategy sessions so I have already um has already started that process with staff and have have a lot that's ready to come forward and help with that initial stakeholder group so my next step will be able to put something through parent square and ask for our families and our parents if they want to

021be a part of a specific group to help and then I also would like to do the same thing with our organizations in in the county um and some of our Business Leaders to come forward and be part of the stakeholder group too so um it is a a long process um and and we've got we've got some time to to do this and I believe truly that we've got people that will rally behind us um and we'll do everything we can and be relentless in the process so I will keep you updated um on that process um and then my goodness it's the end of the year May 18th is um a two-fold kind of night we have the PTO teacher appreciation benefit um very grateful to be able to offer that and in

022person for all of our staff um at the same time it is our board meeting and um so I know I would be able to be there for a short amount of time of it but um trying to push that out and get as many people to attend as we possibly can and then our last student day is May 25th so it is it's crazy um and there are a whole lot of events going on in each of the buildings so I just encourage the public to ensure that they have their building calendars and can attend all of this event so with that thank you thank you um and I will say supposedly there's some things to benefit school systems but I don't necessarily agree that they're going to really get a delighted to meet

023talking personally words are cheap but I'd like to see the actions that I'm not sure any other comments okay with that I need a motion to adjourn I still moved all those in favor thank you and you all have a great experience
