Our action item this morning, um, is, uh, adopting the contract, uh, for our new superintendent, uh, but we have to have a hearing on this. So,
002I need to read a few things. This morning is the hearing for the superintendent contract. I will turn it over to Dr. Long. Dr. Long. Uh, uh, to Yeah, to give a summary. Mhm. Thank you, Mr. Russell. Uh, just to summarize the proposed contract terms, the initial, uh, contract term is for 3 years, which which contract term rolls over annually to create a rolling, uh, 3-year contract unless notice is given by a party to not roll the contract term. The initial base salary is $210,000. If either level eight, if other level eight administrators in the same performance evaluation category as the superintendent receive a base salary or and or a one-time stipend increase in the contract year, the superintendent may be granted the same increase at the sole discretion of the board. Minimum annual 403B
003contribution of 17,500, which may be increased each contract year by no more than $2,500 in the sole discretion of the board. The superintendent may participate in the school corporation's health, dental, and vision insurance plans and long-term disability insurance plan under the same terms and conditions applicable to all other level A administrators in the school corporation. The school corporation will provide the superintendent with a cell phone for business purposes and the current cost of this benefit is $150 uh for the purchase of the device and $30 a month. Board will pay the superintendent's share of the uh teacher retirement fund, which is currently calculated by law as 3% of the superintendent's base salary. Superintendent's contract uh will be for 260 days in each contract year. The superintendent may transfer all unused leave days from her prior
004school employer and the superintendent may use no more than 10 sick days sick leave days from her sick leave bank without prior approval of the board. In each contract year, the superintendent shall be granted paid personal leave days, sick leave days, holidays, bereavement, funeral leave days, all in accordance with the school corporation's administrative benefit statements applicable to all level A administrators. School corporation agrees to provide the superintendent a term life insurance policy with a face value of $500,000. The board pays the premium minus $1. The current cost of that benefit is $684. Upon approval by the board, the board will pay on behalf of the superintendent the cost of membership and participation in professional organizations. And the board agrees to pay all reasonable expenses, which is determined in the sole discretion of the board for
005the superintendent to attend state and national conferences to enhance her professional skills and knowledge. Provided that the superintendent receives advanced approval from the board to attend such conferences. The super sorry, the superintendent shall comply with all travel guidelines of the corporation. Superintendent shall receive all other fringe benefits provided to all other level A administrative administrators employed by the school corporation. The board will annually review the superintendent's performance. The board also agrees to pay an annual automobile and mileage allowance of $7,500 and the superintendent will not submit any claims for reimbursement for automobile automobile or mileage expenditures. It is intended that the base amount elective contributions and taxable portions of the automobile and mileage allowance will be included in the superintendent's annual compensation as defined by Indiana code 5-10.2-4-3 subparagraph C subparagraph II.
