001inspirational and innovative learning opportunities let's all stand for the pledge the first order of business would be to adopt the agenda mr president i know that we have docked the agenda second motion all in favor say aye aye is anyone opposed motion passes we have no public comments for action items this morning so the first action item is uh approve employee covid related absence forgiveness program thank you uh this morning i'm recommending that the board approve a coveted related absence forgiveness for employees and mr taylor will provide you with some additional information thank you dr arkanov uh we are recommending that the board forgive all covert related absences for the first semester of the 2021-22 school year to begin on july 1st of 2021 and run through december 31st of 2021. paid leave time that
002was used for coveted qualifying reason shall be restored for those employees employees who did not have paid leave time and were forced into lost time shall have their wages restored the cost for these restoring these wages and their benefits is an estimated total of fifteen thousand seven hundred twenty dollars and fifty eight cents any changes to that final total will be included in the personnel report at the february meeting this will be retroactive to the first employee work day on or after july first of 2021 this action does not apply to employees with coveted related absences after december 31st 2021. just some other reference notes we're talking about roughly 196 absences here the majority of those are related to a positive test but we do have other qualifying reasons which we're being a close contact
003b is being symptomatic and remaining out of work to protect others and caring for a quarantined child who may have been in close contact or may have been positive himself i think those are all the numbers and yep that's it thank you mr taylor any questions where's the uh where's the money coming from for this um we will actually just pay this back out of the salary account that was originally budgeted in these were wages we expected to pay these employees it was only because of the absence that we didn't pay it so we're not grabbing it from somewhere else correct and again one semester yep only doing the first semester right now we'll continue to monitor but this does not move past december 31st i just think it's good jason yeah you got you're
