001That's fine. Yeah, absolutely. We got >> just like her. The whole front door was always open. >> Yeah. >> Nobody likes the front grills. >> So, thank you. >> Thank you very much. Got real quiet. >> We're live. Are we live? Okay. I can't I really can't start. >> No, that's I'm just Yeah, we're live. That's good. Thank you. hospital. I can't. We're ready, but I can't start early. Well, I could, but I'm not supposed to. How's that? Give the live stream time to load. >> Actually, she's got us up and going. >> Gives it time to load. >> Oh, yeah. Well, no, actually, when you post a public meeting, you're not supposed to start early. So, I'm Xandra. [laughter] In case you didn't know, Xander and I are buddies. He was my helper in

002the Well, that that was the clover we parade a couple years ago, wasn't it? He helped he helped me throw out bubble gum and he was really good at it. [laughter] Are you sure you set that clock right? >> No, >> I'm not either cuz I I've got >> I'd go by that your your phone. >> My phone? Okay. By my phone, I've got 659. So, >> it's got a new battery in it. There we go. Uh, I have 7:00 on my uh phone, so I'm going to call the meeting to order probably at 700 p.m. I do recognize that we have a quorum present. Uh, all members are in attendance. Uh, do we have any additions or amendments to the agenda? >> No. >> Okay. Hearing none, um, I would request a motion and

003a second to approve the agenda as presented. >> Approve the agenda as presented. I'll second. >> Thank you, Mr. Man. Thank you, Mr. Wrightmire. I have a motion and a second to approve the agenda as presented. Are there any questions or discussion? Hearing none, all in favor of the motion, please raise your motion carried unanimously. Uh, next, uh, this is the public's time to speak to the board concerning agenda items. Attendees must register their intention intention to participate in a public portion of the meeting upon our arrival at the meeting. No other time is given unless the board solicits input. The board may allow comments on non-aggenda items or may ask for the citizen to be put on the next boarding board meeting. According to our uh corporation policy, uh each member that has signed

004in and we have five people to speak. Each of you will have three minutes and it will be timed and you need to state your full name and your current address. And just so you know, I've only got the addresses for two out of the five people. So make sure that we do that. At this point in time, I will open the floor to Tiffany Duncan. >> You wish to state it on record here because it and it goes on YouTube. My personal address is on YouTube from the last time I spoke. I've asked that that be removed multiple times and it has not. So, >> but this is a public meeting and >> I can I state the town that I live in and my name and not my actual address? >> Yes. >>

005Okay, that will work. My name is Tiffany Duncan. I live in Quincy, Indiana, but my kids are enrolled at Cloverdale Community School System. >> Okay. And if you can with this, it gives it's a little difficult to swallow. So I I'll try to stick within that 30 or three minutes. Um >> so I will begin. >> Some of you may remember me from August, but some of you may not. That's be that's okay because I'm not going to stop my fight of being heard and remembered. My fight isn't for me, though. It's for my children and all children at Cloverdale schools. I guess now it's for the teachers, too, because they're not allowed to speak up for themselves without repercussions either at this point. My son has had behavior issues for years now. We found

006out that part of it was due to a medication he was taking for his asthma, which is known to cause disruptions in behaviors. As soon as we found out, we stopped that medication, but it still altered the way he processed things for years, and that takes time to correct. I've been saying that it's pro he has problems regulating his emotions all year long to Mr. Linton and anyone who would listen to try and help get him the help and resources he needs. Yet once again, my concerns have fallen on deaf ears, just as they did last year at school and at the board meeting in August. When is someone going to actually listen to the needs of the kids and teachers and actually make a change for the good? I've been in the school system

007for about 18 years now, and it's always the same story, same deaf ears, same political answers without any real changes. How many kids need to be failed before you guys see the problem starts at the top, not at the bottom with the kids and parents? I almost switched my kids this year, but wanted to give CMS a chance. I will say, Mr. Ethan Linton has been trying to do everything he can, but he can only do so much on his own. And that's just it. He's on his own. There's a teacher right here that has a resource that provides exactly what my son needs. And Miss Smith, another teacher, has brought up my son to Miss Shriber, but she wasn't allowed access to him. Not just him, many other kids she wasn't able to help

008either. You guys are trying to fire her because she stands up for what's right and challenges things that are wrong. The principal is getting rid of special needs teachers left and right. We don't have enough as it is. directly from another teacher. She said teachers are on edge all the time, afraid to speak up, ask questions, challenge anything the principal says or does because they're afraid of the repercussions and they're all miserable. She's destroyed their confidence and they are spoken down to. That's who you guys put in charge. She is destroying CNS one student and one teacher at a time. We have teachers who hit and kick students yet you are trying to get rid of a valuable teacher and that's confirmed through the administration. Um, you guys are trying to get rid of a

009teacher who has all the resources that we need and continue to fail the students. We're supposed to trust you guys to love and protect and guide our children when you're in your care. But how are we ever supposed to do that when you continue to let them down, give up, kick them out, label them as troublemakers, instead of working with us, the parents, to help them become the successful people they can if they just give them the fighting chance. I have been asking for a 504 plan for at least the school year, if not longer. I've been denied on multiple occasions. So, let it be known at this point, I will be filing a formal complaint with the state school board and anyone else who will listen. It's time that you guys are held accountable

010for your actions and your shortcomings and quit blaming the students for all of it. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Uh Chad Cummings, >> 5880 East State Route 42. Uh I just have a couple questions. I'm not real good on um educational systems. I got a high school education here from Cloverville High. Um but uh with these IEPs, they restarted them at the first of the year. Correct. The state rewrote some of the IEPs >> during the comments. The boards can't respond. >> We can't respond. >> Well, they did. I already know the answer. Don't worry. Um so it and a teacher maybe have 25 or 30 kids on our case load. That would be hard to, you know, learn all the new stuff, right? Even for a 25 year teacher, 25 year teacher, but

011yet being maybe Thank you. I'm sorry, but applause is not appropriate in a business meeting. We're not we're not the >> Well, it's it's because we don't public meetings are not done like the uh Putinham County uh commissioners and well, just so you know, it's it this is a public meeting and it's a business meeting. Okay. Uh the next person is Ashley Jones. Hello, my name is Ashley Jones. I live at 53 Mon Avenue here in Cloverdale. We have six kids in the school district. We have had two graduate with one we moved out of this district due to the people on top not helping her. So we moved her out to South. We still have three more in the school district. I have two in the middle school, one in the elementary school. My

012one in the middle school has an IEP. Mrs. Driver is amazing. She has her master's degree in ABA. I have my master's degree in ABA. I am a behavior consultant. I know what she does every single day because I do it every single day. I come in and sit in IEP meetings. I come in and personally help and work with these families. When you have a teacher who cares about the students, when they apply the principles that they learn in their education, then they have the resources. You want to give IAS and regular teachers, yes, they do an amazing job, but they don't have the training that we have. They don't have the training to deal with the maladaptive behaviors, to deal with the desk being thrown at you, to deal with the kids hitting

013you, kicking you, running up and down the halls. My daughter, she can say, "You need a break. You need to go take a walk and go get a drink." and she's like, "No, I don't go take a drink. Go get a walk." She comes back to the room and she's nice, calm, collective, and she can see that. Right now, I have a seventh grader. We are two weeks away from Christmas break. I tell her, "Go talk to your sped teacher." She cannot tell me who her sped teacher is. She has no clue. She does not know who her teacher of record is. She cannot tell me who her sped teacher is. She can tell me what her accommodations are on her IEP because I know what her accommodations are. And I'm like, you can do

014this, this, this, and this. Mrs. Shriber can tell you every single one of her students what their accommodations are, what their strengths are, what their weaknesses are. And that's what sped teachers do. That is how they succeed. And I was an IEP kid. I was the SPEG kid. And none of my teachers put any of it out there for me. They're like, "You can't do it. You can't do it. You're dyslexic. You're dumb. You're stupid." I have my masters in ABA. I was the SPEG kid. And with these teachers trying to get rid of them, you're telling a whole new generation, a whole new population, that's me. That they can't do it. They can't become anything because you're trying to take away their resources. You take away their resources and they're not going to do

015anything. Thank you. >> Uh the next person is Robert McCulla. >> Live in uh Poland, Indiana. I've been in this town for about five years and I come from Sunfield. I brought my son out here for a better education, for better way of life. And my fiance and my stepdaughter were going here past couple years except for the past couple years. She got picked on, bullied on. No teachers ever believed her because how different she is. my son. He is sixth grader. He's the most special boy I've ever met. Jill has given him so much respect and so much upbringing in school and helped his confidence, helped everything. My son is one of those kids with anger issues. He is a He's been through so much trauma in his life from other things that have

016happened, losing his brother to cancer a couple years ago. Um, I know some of you might know William the Warrior, that was his brother. The school helped out, but he still suffers from that. And Jill knows the story. She puts him out. She talks to him, but the fact is that she's gone and he doesn't have that support, I think, is crap. She is an amazing teacher and I've had so much problems out of this school district. I don't know if I'm going to bring my son back next year. I've had nothing but trouble last year as the principal. this year. He's been a much better kid in school, better grades, better everything because of Jill. I'm a public speaker, but I don't know what to say besides Gil is the one who's been helping

017my son get through this year. And without it, my son's been a downfall. I know it because I've seen it already. He came home today from school upset and distressed because that one person he needed was not there. >> Thank you. Uh, next is Misty Barker. is and I live at 4007 East County here. off. It's Okay. Thank you. Um, for the record, in a meeting like this, because this is a personnel issue, we are not by law allowed to discuss any of the things that are in process with this particular uh uh employee. uh it would violate her rights as a person and uh we just cannot comment. However, I do want to assure you that the emails that we have received and the people who have spoken this evening uh we have received

018your information, but there is a due process uh procedure in place and we have to follow that as a school board. With that being said, we'll move on to routine matters. Uh first, uh approval of the minutes for the executive and regular session held on November 10th. I make a motion to approve the minutes for the executive regular sessions on November 10th, 2025. >> Second. >> Thank you, Mrs. Fiddler. Thank you, Mr. Wright. Uh are there any questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Uh next we have uh the claims and financial reports. Mr. Linton. >> Yes. [clears throat] This evening I'm requesting the board to approve claims since our last school board meeting, two payrolls and then the retrop pay from employee

019pay increases in the amount of $3,381,24720. >> A motion for approval of the claims and financial reports. >> I'll second. Thank you, Mr. Wrightmire. Thank you, Mrs. Halum. I have a motion and a second to approve the claims and financial reports as presented. Are there any questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Uh, next we have our communications. Uh, first, our student of the month, Mrs. Elenage. Would you like to start us off? [clears throat] >> Would you like to come up and join me? I'd like to introduce to the board tonight Xander Sun. He's a third grader in Mrs. Price's classroom. So, we're glad that Mrs. Price is here. If you want to stand right here, you can look over at our

020board. I'm going to say a lot of nice things about you. Xander Xander has one of the things that I think is most important in school and that is excellent attendance. He's always here at school and he's always ready to learn. He's a straight A student and he always is listening. And the best thing too is that he's always wanting to help his friends. And Mrs. Price says that she enjoys having Xander in class because of his innovative contributions that he makes during discussion time. Now, that's a good big compliment. Do you know what that means? >> I know. >> Well, we could ask Mr. Linton, but he may not know. So, let me explain it to you. Okay. >> Does it just mean that I make um like a big comment on it? >>

021You make a big comment that's kind of thinking outside the box, and that's what we like in education. Yeah, that kind of helps the others. >> Exactly. >> Mrs. What would you like to add to Xander? >> Well, exactly. That's by the he was formerly our technology committee. He has a new job. He be on that committee pretty much the entire year because he's really good with tech. He definitely does. When we asked Andrew, "Why are you successful in school?" He said, "Well, I put first things first." And if you know anything about the seven habits, that's one of the seven habits and it's the most important one. He does what he needs to get done first and then he moves on to other things. Along with being a great school student, he participates in

0224, Kenoi, and wrestling. and we're confident that when he grows up, he's going to be highly successful. Xander, who did you bring with you this evening? >> My parents and um my dad's family. >> We're glad that you're here. >> And we just want to say thank you. Yeah, exactly. I'm a grandma, too. We want to say thank you for sharing Xander to us because he definitely does brighten the third grade hallways and he definitely is deserving of being Cloverdale Elementary student of the month. So, congratulations. And wait a minute. You get goodies here. Here's a nice plant that talks about you being student of the month. And then you receive a very nice letter from our superintendent, Mr. Lynn. Great job, Xander. >> Next, um, I would like to do our employee of the

023month if that is good. >> That's fine. >> Mr. Sandy, will you please come up? >> Mr. Sandy has many jobs at Cloverdale Elementary School. And I don't know where we start with him, but he is our physical education teacher. He helps with an music class and we're getting ready to have our third grade musical. And it is going to be what's the title? >> The Elves Impersonator. >> Yes. And it is a fun one. Today they were singing a Elvis song and we had the lights in the hallway flashing to the beat of the music. So we invite you to that program. It is December 16th at 9:00 a.m. So if anyone would like to attend, it's always fun to see our students participate. Mr. Sandy really has the heart of a teacher. He

024um understands that each student who enters our building has a unique educational need and he really works hard to make sure that he meets those students needs. And I think one reason why Mr. Sandy is so successful in our school is because he too is still a kid and likes to enjoy the days of school. And I don't know if you know much about ed elementary ed and I know Paige back there can and second this as well as Mrs. Price and Mrs. Lad. You have to be a kid at heart to be successful in elementary. And he knows how to take kids and let them enjoy their learning, enjoy the social time, and focus on making them the very best they can be. So, we're very proud this evening to say that our employee

025of the month is Mr. Brad Sandy. >> Would you like to say anything, Mr. Sandy? >> Um, no, not really. >> Feeling bad about getting all this good stuff. I would just say that um I entered the Cloverdale school system in 1970 as a kindergartener, graduated from kindergarten, graduated high school in ' 83, left for about 10 years, but then I truly did find my place back home and hopefully the next couple years go well. I can retire a clover service. Hello. It is my pleasure to introduce Avery Bailey as our December student of the month. Avery was nominated by the sixth grade teaching team. Avery is a joy to have at Cloverdale Middle School. She has a great personality. She's always laughing and en enjoying herself with her friends. Um, I asked Avery what

026she does to be so successful at school, and she says you just have to get your work done and turned in on time. I thought that was pretty good advice. Her favorite subject is math because she feels like that's the one that's naturally easier for her, and she really enjoys that. In her spare time, Avery enjoys playing with her dogs and jumping on the trampoline. In the future, Avery would like to be a doctor or maybe an RN. And Avery's teachers had really great things to say about her. Mrs. Brady said that um you are a joy to have in class, that you consistently work hard, and that you always have a smile for others, and that you make school a great place for everyone. And Mrs. Smith said that she's so proud of you,

027that you have um really grown up into an amazing young lady. You have a kind smile and a sweet personality that brightens the day and brings joy. Your acts of kindness and compassion do not go unnoticed as you reach out to those who need to be encouraged. You have drive and hard work that are apparent in class and she can see that every day. So congratulations on this well-deserved honor. >> Thank you, >> Mr. Stokes. This This is Hina Canela Serrano. She's a junior at Clover High School. And Hina, who did you bring with you this evening? >> Um, my parents and my neighbors. >> Your neighbors? Yeah, we know your neighbors really well. So, >> good people. You moved in the right neighborhood. Yeah. >> You've been with this your second year with us?

028>> Yeah. >> Yes. And uh when she first came to Cloa High School, it had to be an adjustment, you know, this little small Clo, but she asked questions, she fit right in and she became a integral part of the high school right off the bat. So she is a junior, so she has another year with us. And um she is in the JAG program. She enjoys photography. She was on the golf team with Mr. Stephy and she's a cheerleader. She is since she's been here all the honors and awards she's jumped right in. Uh honoral, cumulative honors, academic excellence in fashion and textiles at a varsity letter in golf. She plans on becoming a traveling RN when she gets her degree, which is that's going to be fun. >> Yeah. >> Good to see

029the world and good luck there. She was nominated by Mrs. Hoffman, older Mrs. Hoffman. So we know that uh she had to impress somebody to be nominated by Mrs. Hoffman. So we are ecstatic about that. And uh she had a lot of teachers speak highly of her. And the central theme here as you listen to me you'll see and I'll tell you at the end because I I realized that as I read it what type of student Hina is. Mrs. Spata had this to say. He is an excellent student. She completes her work quickly, completely and accurately. She is kind and follows rules. I'm fortunate to have her in class. Mr. Schneppp said he is a serious scholar as evidenced by her desire to do high quality work. She holds herself to a high standard

030and challenges herself through involvement in many extracurriculars at CHS. She's willing to try new things and stretches herself to be the best she could be at all things. Mrs. Beret had this to say, "Hena works hard in biology, too, and contributes to the success of others in the classroom." Mrs. Overbercrop said, "Hena is a very self-motivated young lady. She speaks up and has good self- advocacy skills. Hina always does what is asked of her and has good insight on many different aspects of both academics and life. Mr. Turk had this to say. Congrats Hina on being named student of the month. This award is representative of your standing in our school. Whether through your study in advance and AP courses, success in golf and cheer, or through your pure mentorship and advocacy, you are most

031deserving this honor this month and every month. Congratulations. Mrs. Grimes, our English teacher, said this. I enjoy having Hina in class. She always asks questions that help me consider each assignment from the students point of view. She takes pride in her work and always gives her best effort. Hina is polite and has a positive attitude. She sets a good example for her peers. The themes I get from teachers is Hina thinks a little bit higher than most high school students. Not only should she consider what it's like for herself being a student or the others in her classroom, one is the best student or students who are struggling. So the teachers recognize that. I recognize it. The high school student month for December. I'm going to give you a copy of this. >> Thank you.

032>> Okay. >> Appreciate you. >> Um before we move on, um Xander, Adria, and Hina, thank you for the things you are doing in school and being such good students. And I want to encourage you to keep it up. Now, Xander I know a little bit about because I started knowing him. How many years ago has it been? Was he about three maybe? >> Four, five, maybe. Okay. So, I've kind of watched him him grow up a little bit and it's been fun. It's been fun and he's a really good kid. Avery, I don't know you very well, but your idea of becoming a traveling nurse, we actually have uh a Cloverdale graduate whose daughter became a traveling nurse. [clears throat] And if you're really interested in that, my email is on everything. So, email

033me and I'll hook you up with her because she really had a good experience with that. and just knowing what all is involved and all the places she got to go, that'll be great for you. And I encourage you to continue along that path. And then Hina, I got to know a little bit about Hina's ability to interact with adults when she was working the concession stand one night and Mr. Stephie was giving her a hard time and she was able to handle that very well and kind of hand it back. That is a skill, young lady, that will carry you through life. So, you keep it up and whatever you decide to do, I know you're going to do it. Now, Mr. Sandy, Mr. Sandy, his mother was the first person in um a

034role as a thespian. And the play you were only you were supposed to be in high school to be in this play, but I wasn't in high school. I might have been maybe a fifth or sixth grader, but they needed a younger kid who would agree to have dots put on their face and be chickenpox or measles or something. and I was his mother's little sister. So, I've known Mr. Brad for a very, very long time. And so, he gets his acting ability honest. And he does know how to have a good time. And the other day, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, not planned, I actually showed up at the elementary school 2 minutes before their balloon parade. Let me tell you, I had more fun. And Mr. Sandy was kind of controlling the music and

035stuff. If you ever get a chance to go to one of their parades and you have kids involved, definitely go. It's It's worth it. So, when you say the third grade's having a play, be there. [laughter] And I've also known your wife for a very long time, too. Uh we sort of grew up a together, you know. So, keep doing what you're doing, Brad. And I'm assuming you're going to stay here until uh you retire. And no more heart attacks. Okay. [laughter] And lastly, but not least, thank you to the parents, the grandparents. I'm going to guess you're probably an aunt. Okay. And the neighbors and the teachers and uh neighbors and everybody else that came to support your children. That's the most important part. if they know that they have your support, they're going

036to succeed. And I thank you for allowing us to have your children and watch them grow. And since all of you have at least one more year to go, I hope you're back to see us sometime. Okay. At this point in time, I'm going to dismiss all of you students and your entourage if they want to. They're going to Mr. Stoultz is going to take pictures in the outer office. If you want to come back in for the remainder of the meeting, you're more than welcome. If you prefer to leave and you have something else to do on a Monday night, you're also welcome to do that. But thank you very much for coming and supporting these young people and Mr. Sandy. Okay. Thank you very much. on her screen as well. >> I never

037get a chance to wear Thanks later. >> Thank you, Roger. Uh we have no old business at this point in time, so we'll move on to new business. Uh, we have a request to approve a social media agreement. >> Uh, this morning or this evening, I'm requesting the board to approve a a social media agreement with Cameron Scott, who is uh an individual that um, again, I'm requesting the board to to hire to help uh, us with our social media publications in an effort to be more consistent, professional in our communications with the school corporation. >> A motion to approve the social media agreement. I'll second. >> Thank you, Mrs. Carol. Thank you, Mrs. Phom. I have a motion and a second to approve the hiring of a social media agreement as presented. Are there

038any questions or discussion? >> Uh, yeah, I got a couple questions. So, will this encapsulate all of the different social media sites that basically have the Cloverdale letter head on them? >> Uh, this will uh take care based in the agreement four to five accounts. We are Kathy here. Uh I didn't get a chance to talk with her in detail, but uh we are looking at some other uh apps uh that we are what's the name of Kathy >> Parent Square that will help us kind of coordinate uh coaches, teachers, and things like that. And there are controls on there uh for the school corporation to be able to control the messages going out that way. This would be a more higher level business type media u presence. Um just to be honest, not primarily,

039but uh largely statewide in an effort to help grow our online school. Are there any other questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Next, you have a request to approve the 2026 27 school calendar >> in your package found and had an opportunity to review the 2627 calendar. Uh, this calendar uh coordinates very closely with the other uh Putham County school districts making it a good situation for our kids that go to area 30 and things like that. So, I'd request approval on that this evening. >> To approve the 26 27 school calendar. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mrs. Lunch. Thank you, Mr. Right. I have a motion and a second to approve the 202627 school calendar. Are there any questions or

040discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Uh next, we have a request to approve to pay the end of the year claim. Uh between now and our January board meeting, uh I'm requesting permission from the board to go ahead and pay those claims prior to our board meeting, at least through December 31st, just so that our vendors do not have to wait over the holidays. And uh it also is kind of a budget maneuver that keeps us from having uh incumbrances that carry over into the next year. >> Motion to approve the pay in of your claims. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mrs. Fidler. Thank you, Mrs. Halum. I have a motion and a second to approve paying the end of the year claims

041to the December 31st of this year. Any questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Uh next we have a request to approve uh a stipen for the CMS choice program. >> Uh Mrs. Melik outlined how that stipen uh would be used at the middle school this year and just requesting the board to approve that request. >> I'll make a motion to approve the CMS choice program stipen. >> Thank you, Mrs. Halam. Thank you, Mr. Wright. I have a motion and a second to approve the CMS choice program stipen. Are there any questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously. Uh, next we have a request to approve the 202526 highability grant. >>

042Our highability grant this year is just under $38,000 and it does require require board approval before we can receive those funds. So requesting that this evening. >> A motion to approve the 2526 highability grant. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mrs. Lewis. Thank you, Mrs. Carol. I have a motion and a second to approve the 202526 highability grant. Any questions or discussion? Hearing none. All in favor of the motion, please raise your right hand. Motion carried unanimously.
