the week and musician of the month when a teacher or coach notices an athlete or musician going above and beyond expectations they're nominated for one of these Awards and why they the student served it for example if a Coach CES shown leadership or grit they get their school photo to be put up and saying why they earned the athlete the week okay we use positive behavioral intervention system or pvis we use the shield trip and Athenian Central as a way to reward our students for meeting the criteria and core values Shield trip requirements are they must have no unexcused absences they must have no moon work no more than three parties no writeups and they must receive all A's and B's with only one students can earn Athenian stickers from teachers for good behavior making
improvements or exhibiting the core values to to spend on fun things that in athum central discipline down and attends up one way the P PBIS helps our students is to give it gives them more incentives to come to school and not only just come but meet the expectation and exhibit the core values the disciplinary actions have gone down significantly significantly and they are now at the low as they've been in a long time we are also very proud and and we are above the state model attende R which is the highest attendance we have in a while we are very proud of all of our accomplishments this year and this is just one of them Game Changer another way that we reward our students is called Game Changers which goes along with our theme this
year of Game Changers game changers is another reward system using the five core values of being kind getting involved being respectful being responsible and being safe these are our tear of involvement at CMS at it goes from most to least and at the very top is the teacher advisory Council the teacher leadership team and the parent advisor Council they are the most involved at TMS and then the second most involved is the student advisory Council the teacher Mentor team Friday friends the teacher d data team student data team student leadership team teacher welcoming committee and the student welcoming committee the student leadership team is the most involved out of all of these the teacher social committee student appreciation team a team which is the service learning Club blue crew which is a spirit team save

team the welcoming team shows new students around they also help new students learn how our school does things they produced a short film presented with subtitles and a variety of languages and are also making a book to welcome kids to CMS data team the data team is all about helping students have a voice saying what is going to in was going in school the data team makes a lot of different surveys to send out to the student body and they take that data and analyze it some of the data they have collected is ideas on spirit days PBIS and safety in conclusion we are very proud of all the students or of all the things we have accomplished this year because of the goals that our student leaders have made we have seen increase in

they do not need to bring money but they may if they want extra things we now sission callay the ultimate shter do you have any questions thank you [Music] I would recommend the board consider approve the retirement in last year to help us out the essential skill is there an excellent job reach that wonderful time she can retire recomend the board approve for retir all I recommend the board appr resignations of Di and Grace faor yeah start with the uh administration building so we've been uh waiting on some things since last time last month so the last few weeks we have received many of the materials that we were waiting on for installation so all office Furnitures arrived and has installed most countertops have arriv and are installed on the with cabinets kitchen appliances and
still waiting I believe on two countertops U to be able to finish up the final pieces of uh the cabinets that are ready to to go in uh board desking panels are still scheduled for arrival next week so in terms of interior work that would be the last B some small things still that would be the last big piece that um still we need to receive and and then install on site so um outdoor work has also resumed with the nice weather it has been very very kind especially the last week so uh they have been working out there particularly in that back patio area as well prepping that uh for the concrete that will be back there um and the the landscape stone that will be creating a board as so it is coming
together very nicely finishing touches are coming along and it is a very SHP so is hopefully right around the corner um so uh timeline just upcoming uh projects that uh we have approved but are getting scheduled and getting some timelines with so just an update there on uh the main gy so new conference logo and School logo go over that at the high school um and then the floor recondition uh begins either the week of June 2nd or June 9th and that will take around three weeks once day uh get that started field Turf uh that is also occurring this Summer that will start May 19th and that will be about a four to six week completion from that start then the other big one over the summer is ten with six ports uh being
reconditioned this Summer that is schedle to to start July 7th and that will take two to 3 weeks uh for those who six course there so just as you there'll be a lot of action uring at the high school with with those pieces and so just as you see those things kind of happening you be aware of what those are so uh electric bus just an update here so still kind of just waiting um there as line electric continues to work through their so I did here actually from in today um they are set to wrap up their timeline the the of line Electric in mid April so following that we'll be a to get some more details on what that really means uh for us in terms of the two electric buses that we
have been approved uh to purchase through that Federal grant so still kind of waiting but we are still in Conta which is good so curriculum instruction so recently attended some I Exel training teachers attended Exel training on March 3rd um and princip attended on March 4 so iel is used pretty heavy in our math and language arts particular particularly in our grades 3 through eight uh with our tested subject areas so that is one of the vender Pilots uh with the island checkpoints so they have been making a lot of updates and a lot of changes so it was really good to be able to go here um and ISO have present on those things and so feedback for from the teachers was it was a great PD to go to and they definitely pull
some things and they're also excited to see whatl is doing um that that really creates individualized plans that align to the check point so um so some good things there so kind of along those state or along those same lines a lot of testing that's going on so we are working through our final checkpoint three which will finish up that pilot we have completed all checkpoint three assessments except math in middle school so as we kind of head towards I learned Su of the test which will occur in April then it will be interesting to take that first look since we never had the pilot Data before or the checkpoint data sorry um to just kind of see how that compares to individual uh summ of testing so um I read three some Nicholson completed
I3 testing last week we do a couple more U just makeups to do but that was for their second and third graders so we have been giving it to second graders uh for a few years now but was required uh for the first time this year to get to those second graders so Mrs Hall her team have already started working through analyzing data working through intervention plans for those who have not pass we need to retest in May so um this will also impact our summer school planning as we look at that so the legislation that does hold certain requirements for our atrisk second grade students and then our third grade students to come pass so and again more testing High School SA occurred last uh Tuesday March 4th so we had 100% Mr Sims
did confirm that um 100% of our students did complete the test and take the test so we'll look forward to getting that data and digging into that as well usually about two weeks uh following uh the completion of the testing window which actually ends tomorrow so for the state that is your assistant superintendent report all right super all right everybody left talk that's great um thank you to CMS I believe the board truly appreciates it when students um make the presentation so that is excellent I appreciate you hosting um card gifts thank you very much so that's outstanding um you can see a lot of great things going on with the Middle School think um Mrs H Mr server her student leadership team her teacher leadership you know they they do a lot of things
and truly mean it and put the effort in um and if you can see that in the engagement in the building a positive atmosphere great job of um in our some celebrations Adrien Medina received an ihsa Exemplar Behavior award for his support of other swimmers and we'll recognize him um at the cordill high school board meeting for next month and a couple other folks for spotlight on Excellence um toore um our robotics team finished 13th in the state at a robotics competition you could only compete in the state competition if you finished first in a previous competition um so they surely were there amongst the best of the best so that's outstanding great to see that that longstanding team has continued to go on you think that toor is the longest and oldest robotics team
in the state so that's exciting continuing with great success the starlets um won second place in hip-hop and second place in jazz at the state competition the blue Illusions W second place in Hip Hop and fifth place in Jabs state competition so good job good shobs um CMS girls and boys swimming and Diving were the 2025 County Champs and the CHS boys claim their sixth straight sectional title and the school's 24th sectional title so all great celebrations and examples of excellence in our schools um in the kind of educational instructional leadership World um the the mayor has been an amazing partner um with the Crawford Z Career Academy which is the old IB tech building um you know he he has a great vision for that building is a Career Academy so our Cooperative CTE
program has moved out there and now he's agreed um that our the adult resource Academy can move out there so Cara has been at the B&T building before my existence in Cross schools I think um and so an amazing opportunity to for them to move into a place of modern walls and Technology um and and it also goes in right that I was with the mayor when he gave a tour um to one of the local industries that HR people in from all over the country and that you know he explains that right here is your Workforce they're all being trained right here they're available to you so it's a a great opportunity and it makes sense and you it's wonderful for Crawford Jill schools and for the Crawford Joel adult resource Academy um in
Personnel world I attended the Brown and Brown health insurance seminar um obviously health insurance is a great benefit for our staff um and also comes along with our clinic so just great to see some of the new Innovations and ideas that are coming along there and Community world I spoke to the Community Foundation about prop community schools they had asked about Athens Virtual Academy and kind of some of the interesting or different unique challenges that we have as a school corporation so always appreciate the opportunity to speak to community groups um build Partnerships and let them know that you know what crille schools offer and you know how we overcome some of our challenges the Master Gardeners who have been at Nicholson or since I was the principal back at Nicholson so about 12 years
received a grant and they were awarded the growing together Grant through the Purdue Extension so located continue to add some resources to the the garden that is there um and you continue to expand and grow the opportunities that our students um have in participating with the Master Gardeners reminders Indiana School Board Association spring regional meeting is May 5th Pur um if you haven't let Stephanie know already that you're attending please let her know if you can make it so she can get us registered our next board meeting is Thursday April 10th at CHS so um you don't know that Paving and those type of things will be done at the new admin building so I figure it's best to just go ahead and finish this year of building tourers at CHS and then we can
do our first meeting there and have an open house and do those type of things for the board meeting um you haven't been in recently it you walk in and you it appears to be a building that you could go ahead and move into but there's all those little things that are there and since we aren't this placing students it'll be nice to be able to move in um once almost everything is done instead of people still working around we are looking at moving some folks in over spr break and see how the next week or so goes with some things so we're getting very close please see the March aan Oracle um just amazing things going on a lot of great things with the elementary with the Indiana author we had a little reading
challenge for the elementary and then many of the celebrations that I hit were on there and I'm Rex I'm glad to be with you than board member Communications [Music] coms that six page sorry
