do the roll call all administrators and board members present at this time I would invite everyone to join me in the Pledge of Allegiance I see I pledge alleg to the flag of the United States of America and to the for it stands one nation God indivisible withy and jusice for all like the first item is to approve previous meeting [Music] minutes conditions Corrections that I will entertain a motion to on Excellence all right excellent we will start with Marie and Melanie go stand up so um it's outstanding when we have standout athletes that also receive exemplary behavior reports um it's been a nice thing we've kind of become a new tradition so we had one last month so Crawford zo high school students getting exemplary reports great um these are really good stories because
they kind of go along with their winning as well so but that's not the important part here so Marie hler a junior from Crawfordsville took time to comfort an upset swimmer the young lady she comforted was not from her team she took the time to sit next to her and talk with her while this swimmer was crying the two then got up together at the time to comfort another athlete but she did and she helped calm that athlete and allowed them to get ready for their next event she showed true sportsmanship in comforting this athlete and I and the athlete appreciate her kind words and friendship and sportsmanship Jagger so excellent Mar [Applause] good here we go Melanie now a Crawford high school student stepped away fromy freshman swimmer who was getting ready for a
swim off it was a beautiful incredibly thoughtful moment I just happened to see amongst all the swimmers on a busy swim deck I hope Melanie her parents and Crawfordville high school can be recognized for raising a person who exhibited exemplary sportsmanship when it mattered most to a fellow swimmer k w well done all right so we talked about the golden blue stands for excellence and caring and achievement and you guys have definitely spot put a spotlight on that also tonight we have Coach Moes so come on up stand up we'll make you walk up there all right coach Brett Moes was named the 2024 District K Coach of the Year coach Mo received this award at the Indiana High School coaches association Hall of Fame banquet [Applause] all right Kelly kug come on up this
is I just have you stand there for a while I love teachers are so comfortable in front of students you put them in front of adults and CH yes so that's right probably more mature Kelly agreed to move back to teaching kindergarten for us this year after spending a year teaching first grade a couple of weeks prior to school starting due to high K enrollment numbers she has been nothing short of excellent in the role on top of this Kelly is consistently going above and beyond advocating for her students as well as helping plan Well [Applause] Done Right and we were going to have the JB boys basketball team so that is good fantastic next item is the building principal report Mr Walter before I start that thank you for letting me speak to you
two girls I've known Carrie wne and and aroner for a lot of years they're two of my favorite people they're also not easily impressed so you and an arriv Ral that's super awesome coach Mo he just beat us for so many years we just got used to that thank thank you guys for letting me come up and talking for a couple minutes and I'm going to turn over my team and let them do the talking so first comment I made mention when I was introduced as principal and you guys approve me that I ow can't add a thank you I wanted to bring that to full light there is his wife Erica with my young daughter Lucy so just so you thought I wasn't talking out the side of my head thank you Mr manett
and team so this job has been a huge blessing to me I think hose is in a great spot one of the biggest blessings about that is that I get that every day so that's my oldest daughter core it's it's hard to put into words for those of you that have had kids in your school how much those hugs in the hallways and things mean and we do I think a lot of really cool things I want to shout out to Josie agular she has brought in the ball bash fanic club to work with her kindergarten class that happens on a weekly basis and to watch these kids eyes light up every week they come in playing games doing activities is a super cool thing so thank you to W bash thank you to Josie
for really facilitating all of that that was an easy yes for me G and Pendleton does a lot of things with W bash swim you see a lot of that there they came in worked with Amy Hy's class as well and then the 100th day of school at the elementary level is a phenomenal thing like it is a great thing so she she and like most things she does went above and beyond and so we got some pictures there over one of those things so uh shout out to Ganan and all the cool stuff that she does even had a Wall-E visit and the kids as you can imagine were pretty enamored with that so Aaron Gillan I'm going to talk about her she does a lot of cool scientist fun stuff they made blubber
one day kids all loved I really want to Spotlight my boy Vincent right here he got super excited about the BL so I think showing proven yet again that that uh while learning is a huge part of what we do obviously can have fun while we do it Amy Hensley Amber Roar most of you know um but they have had a pairing with w college for years with their uh books and basketball deal this is the first year that we went to a game so invited the whole hose family to the game had over 50 kids turn out got a free book got free popcorn Got The Whole Nine got to do the starting lineup introductions and kids were just enamored thought it was like we the whole time was nervous but they they had
a great time and so to I think that's tradition that we're going to continue and it's because of the hard work of those two people and then here recently just this week we had Lisha tab who writes the Albert books for those of you who may not know we got the we got her to come to hose thanks to a lot of people people you see in the picture thank you to Andrew Amber Amy and Britney for kind of facilitating a lot of that but our PTO contributed central office contributed there was just a lot of contributions and to see and I think I know Kelly doesn't want more attention but she could attested us all of our other teachers could attest to this um to see these kids' eyes light up about writing illustrating
verbage words the whole night was a looks up just had never met him I really want to be a rider now and I was like you know what that makes it worth it right there so that was a really cool experience for us and so thank you to all those who contributed to that so like I said tonight's not about me hose is a team that's what I want to promote here so I'm going to bring up Briny reef and her team and let you let them tell you a little bit about a program we have affectionately referred to as win time hello um I'm going to talk to you about wind time um wind time is a program that we started it's a walk to intervention model um after the beginning of the year
data that we had we realized that one of our team of first grade had a significant amount facilitate that so we got creative um I pulled a lot of people in to help me with this project um and they were all for it and we landed on a walk to intervention so that we could service more kids um and be more efficient with our resources for that 30 minutes daily so win time is um what I need some other schools do this they call it all different things um we landed on what I need because it's what we're what the kids need we're meeting kids where they are so we have split them up into eight different targeted skills groups so for 30 minutes a day they go to a targeted um group instruction and
I have four classroom teachers I have two um IA interventionists so uh instructional assistant interventionist and then I have a special a teacher and an El teacher so um group of four a group of four then it kind of moves up so um more need smaller group size um when you get up into the two um the pink and purple one up here we have a larger number of students we have 17 and 23 um but we have two staff in there so we're utilizing our resources as effectively as we can to make sure that we are meeting kids where they need um this is um like I said 30 minutes daily um within that group we also have a group of 15 students that we're calling affectionately our double um accelerate their growth in
their clonic skills so um benefits we've seen just uh we've done one round we we're just starting our second round of it our first round was mainly logistical um but we still saw a lot of benefits um we relationships have been just through the roof we have seen such growth in that area um we've seen a decrease in behavior in those kids more participation from our reluctant Learners so that's been a big positive um planning is easier and effective and more targeted for teachers they'll tell you a little bit about that into too and it allows our teachers to discuss the kids um as a team instead of individual classrooms so we've seen a lot of positives I'm going to um I'm going to let them talk really quick and then I have a teacher
that couldn't be here I'll share with you her thoughts as well so um I miss um one time or walk to intervention time has made such a positive impact on my students and the students from other classrooms participating it's created a predictable learning environment especially for those who get to do two groups a day that Double Di she was talking about um I had a student who recognized that I was continuing a lesson from her small group so when I said guess what letter we're learning today trying to be fun she shouted out the letter um immediately and um this is actually a student who often struggles with recognition of letters but was already aware of what we were learning um and I really saw her confidence right from other classes will not come and
say hi to me in the mornings and love to tell me about their previous day this is all also significantly helped with behaviors because they want to be able to brag about themselves to other teachers so that has been really amazing um to see with these when has also increased teacher awareness of students cap capabilities we're able to talk and meet more frequently about students who are struggling and need more help at the same time it also allows us to celebrate our students big and small accomplishments it also Fosters amazing team collaboration on the teacher side I did a little um project today five reasons why we would love first grade and I had four different students um pick one time as one of the reasons hi I'm Alicia Hawk I'm a first grade teacher
here at hose um first of all I just want to say thank you for the opportunity for taking this time to hear our perspective on this amazing program I know sometimes you can hear about it and you don't really get to see the logistics behind it or hear the personal story so um again thank you for that um I initially this Tas seemed like it might be a little overwhelming maybe even difficult for our population of students trusting six and seven year olds to walk from one way to freedom however we knew that the need was significant enough and um we were or sorry our students that were there academically so we decided we would face the challenge head on and put some rules in place to prevent any potential hallway Shenanigans um I wanted
you to notice how we are all including how um important this was to us as te teachers in that decrease stor and as teachers about me meeting the literacy needs of our students um we're always trying to meet those needs of our students by differentiating instruction and making it challenging enough to grow for them but not so challenging that they shut down and get frustrated this would look like a lot of teachers creating multiple differentiated centers worksheets or games just to help meet the variety of needs in the classroom by offering a targeted intervention time teachers can now feel like we are adequately meeting the needs of our students where they are academically and focus on teaching one targeted developmentally successful helping our students the second positive aspect of our transition time has been increased
student engagement students are eager to participate in win time and love to go to another classroom award on their specific skill set we have seen that these students are engaged for the entire duration and are excited to work this is also possibly due to the students feeling more confident in themselves in my group of 17 all students will raise their hand to answer questions they answer questions more accurately and we can move through a lesson with flil sorry um not just with student teachers but other students to other students as well um I have one student that comes to my wi time she's uh in a different classroom down Theo um but she struggled with some defiant behaviors in her regular classroom since the beginning of the year she and I have built a relationship
where she knows I'm going to hold her accountable for her behavior in her regular classroom she comes and tells me good morning every day I in turn tell her I need you to be a leader in your classroom today show your parents how to give your teacher respect and call directions and she will say I will smile and go to her classroom to start her day positively if she earns a positive yellow note from her teacher for good behavior all day she gets to come to my classroom at the end of the day and get a sticker from my sticker store this incentivizes her to have good behavior and her teacher and I have seen an increase in positive behavior within the whole class she is now attempting to be a leader in her classroom
and will even try to help others who may be struggling with compliance to make go to a new building every two years it's difficult to try to build long-term Mentor mentee relationships to help students be successful however with win time I can now see that this include more a more of an Avenue to help students feel where we are truly here for their best interest and want them to see be the best version of themselves I want to thank you all for believing in the possibility of this progr program and a special thanks to Britney and Adam for seeing the vision through guiding all these ducks and keeping us in a row I just wanted to share one more we had um Kyla Cooper could not be here she wanted to be here um and
she wanted she had some thoughts that she wanted to share as well she said that she's been teaching first grade for 28 years it's getting so hard to differentiate for the wide range of kids that that we have um and she was worried that she wasn't doing her kids um she wasn't doing right by them but not being able to meet all their needs um and then we started switching and she said she loves it um she feels like her kids are getting what they need in that spot so um she said she feels like wi has brought our team closer together since we now that she has many more kids in her class and then um she's developed good relationships with many of them and they usually come in the mornings to say hi
as well that's just a big one we've seen um so she just wanted to end with that she feels like our win time is helpful um with the emotional needs of the kiddos and helping out um even with discipline uh issues as well because it the kids know that it's more than one adult keeping them accountable so theyve really risen to that that challenge too so thank you to you three um I know you're sitting there thinking like what do the kids think what the kids on all the biggest fans of getting stared at for long time so uh thank you to you guys so uh win time celebrations um Mrs I'll let you take this away um these are just a couple pictures of different things that the kids do in wi time um
working at their level but just a couple quotes up there from the kids make letters they make letters we're not just building yeah but another one I think is really cool is that last one she changed groups recently because it is a fluid group um or change we stay in groups until they no longer need that and then we change where they need to be um and she said she likes to go with Mrs Booker now um but she also liked when she went to Mrs Fields group because she like to see it say it s so and thank you you I know you're you're tired of being Li so I will finish this off and uh we will exp fun with with growth and proving data but this um and so this would allow
me um I looked through and I was able to find for the Thousand that the grant um would be for models of the pigs the frogs the birds Etc that we dissect so it would be an alternative in case the money wasn't there one year I could still do stations and have those kinds of things um and also have it as an alternative if the student wanted that as an alternative so just a nice little grade I'd like to write one and I have the website if anybody want me to send it to Dr rer I could do that or whomever any questions I would entertain a motion to approve thank you all in favor all right thank you next I consider B trips for 2026 yeah I brought a couple of my students with
me tonight to give the proposal cuz I don't want to do it so no I thought it'd be a good opportunity to show some leadership for some of the younger students to get in front of you guys and propose this so we've got some stuff written out and they're going to talk to you for a second and then if you have any questions at the end that they can't answer I'll be happy to answer those so all right go ahead folks take a away hello my name is Elan hler I'm CER Morgan and I'm Hunter blons we are currently frh in the CHS Band program and we are here on behalf of our fellow band members to represent an exciting opportunity inside with the current plan is for us to leave for Branson on Saturday

the theme on the agenda there that we're heading into that uh planning for next year stuff so um so this is the that we're in for a couple questions there um cath that you had and I think we got those cleaned up and and added that piece there on the the phone numbers too but um so if there's other question keevin you had a chance to review that I have yeah I've gone through the transportation you obviously this was the first year that we um you know obviously this was the first year that we um which you know it's an amazing which you know it's an amazing opportunity opportuni that we can provide for our employees we did have a that we can provide for our employees we did have a a grant last year
that helped us that we did not charge last year um does not appear that there will be any additional grants available this year for that so at this point in time we do need to um raise the fees from zero um so we are proposing to raise them that we would cover half of the cost for our employer or employees so infant child care I'll cover those in the next one and that's some of the main things that are in the updates to the book and also other Lessons Learned just done some procedures and cleaned up some mistakes I would recommend the board approve the employer sponsor sufficient to keep it viable and but still fair to the employees yes um it's it is still invest for us but we it's an investment that's within
reach I think of a fair for us to provide um it honestly becomes very similar to the investment that we provide for insurance um for that but I think that the number of young staff that we have this is a way to kind of secure and work with staff to keep them there and and hopefully continue to take care of their children for from CP to graduation so even subtracting out the uh float or it would be very close okay so it's I can see why it's extremely difficult for anybody to run happing that you have to have the amount of Regulation that comes in um you think about things that we already have in place that others don't so it's yes and I understand why you want regulations you know want your babies and
unsafe settings but it definitely is it is an expensive thing to do so how many employes are taking participating I do I'm here what question number of employees 18 um one of them is double so seven 17 kids um in the child care room um that does not include the parents of the preschoolers so you can have eight infants and 10 Toddlers and um April 2nd we will have eight infants and 10 tods those are all employees those are all employee children preschool for employees as well and I do not have that number you the estimate um I would say we have 10 to 15 preschoolers that are attending some of them are siblings of the child care move approving the sh handook all in favor next time is to consider the Wilson Preschool Academy
handbook yeah um again um did add in our language for our pre ability program the cost um is updated and will'll update again after we approve in the next section so it again cleaning it up last year was the first year we had it so those type of mistakes that come in so kind of guides Us in providing our preschool program I would recommend the board approve the Wilson Preschool Academy handbook for the 25 26 school year next it's considered child care and preschool fees yeah so our fees for the 25 26 school year so our infant fee would be $230 per week but we will the employer sponsored rate will be $115 a week so I'm going to just give you the employer sponsored rate understand what we would be toddler care would be
$100 per week and preschool would be $137.50 per month so that is for the our employees our rates for preschool for non-employees will be $275 per month these are all very fair and Below market rate value um and they do get us in a very close to balanced budget I would recommend the board approve the child care and preschool fees for the 25 26 school year any discussion approval second all in favor have a copy in front of you uh we've discussed with the teacher Representatives a couple of times uh we worked with the um the co-ops schools so North Montgomery South Montgomery and Weston um so we're all pretty well aligned um things that we did just last week meet again to move the spring break a week later um that aligns up with
some of the school trips that go along and those things are important but week before Memorial day but otherwise it really looks the way we've done it for a couple years several years actually finishing the the Friday students no no the students finished on the 21st and then I'm looking the teachers oh the 24th is records day not Memorial Day so we've shifted a whole week yes 5 day difference between the two two days I believe was in our English teachers room in the high school testing folks um I do think that one thing when you look at that there's four more days in the spring you also have more testing in the spring so that kind of goes to balance that out what was the thought behind starting that week first week of August
and ending a week earlier in May as opposed to shifting it we back you know back to more of our normal schedule yeah I think um when people are talking about it in febru you know your high school folks in calendar calendars are kind of like a stress they're very IND to individual preference and experiences um and so I think that was it because I know that initially one of the other corporations in Coop was like oh that's way too early then after they kinded the superintendent and met with their staff came back and said no this is where they would like it so I say to works for everybody is possible youy goes pretty well okay any other discussion legisl decided to give up on the whole Labor Day they would they bills I
did not hear that one but that school is from the day after to Memorial exactly and Ellen somewh saying yes nobody's in a second there always talk about how sane our board is well we've talked about that in the past we we'll vote for mutually exclusive things so we need to have the 180 days they will say we want to start after Labor Day we want to finish before day we want two weeks Christmas we want a two we spring break or two week fall break sem and an equal semester and you cannot do all those things cuz the calendar just does not work so unfortunately but I know I am one who I looks at that first week of August and go oh no that just seems so Western Boon puts an extra that
idea to teacher discussion and thought where everybody is just how kind of people feel in February long we just a long weekend yeah and you get a 4 Day weekend I thought would go and went over like a lead balloon me and Emily race were the only ones interested in everybody else was silent because I do I mean and then I was thought if you did that then you could put it in another day because you look from Spring Brown they did not want that and I will say that teacher attendance is improved this year so they're tough cookies and want to push through when you do that stuff all right any other discussion Jenny you want to add anything 180 is 180 wherever you put it kind like no I think this looks good
all right is there a motion so move I'll second all in favor resolution of dormant fund transfer yes so this past December we did make our last payment on our retirement Severance bond that we've had since 2013 um with that that fund now has fulfilled its duties and there is a balance left over so we need to have this resolution passed to be able to transfer those funds it's only $1,100 uh to the rainy day fund so we would recommend the board approve this resolution I would say that Scott and I had up on the wall this state we thought it was going to free up a lot of money but yeah it's those days are gone so yeah all right it will help a little big transfer here so I move approval second all
in favor right moving on to Personnel all right have four resignations I recommend the board approve the resignation all in favor yeah so here we go um recommend the hiring of Heather will high as a Hoover teacher assistant recommend Cheyenne Lynn as a Wilson child care assistant and recommend is the Wilson developmental preschool a and I recommend all three Mo approval all in favor I all right and yeah so just have a couple items for you um our audit they have um we will will get you the results of that as soon as they publish their report uh probably close to the middle of March um we're not allowed to share any of the details with the audit results until that point in the grants world we did receive a carry forward uh for our
Title One Grant it's about $85,000 items that we can get um to supplement what we already have we're working through that we have till the end of March to complete that work um just working with the iasbo staff uh watching in the general assembly this session the big Bill that I'm watching is House Bill 101 the budget Bill uh because that drives all of our school funding uh currently as the bill reads and has beenal years increasing our funding when we know that there are Cuts elsewhere we'll keep an eye on that bill and we'll keep you updated as it progresses um then just some other miscellaneous items tax forms all went out in January to all individuals that needed those appreciate the payroll in Human Resources staff for getting those out timely this year
and then um the last item I have after completing a survey by the ige we were chosen for desktop monitoring for all of our title grants uh encapsulates six different federal grants we'll be working through that this uh is randomly or is they have some kind of complex formula that drives it based off of years of experience hopefully no smacking hands first year superintendent probably it yes I this is the first time that we've had just stop monitoring in eight years I think so it's pure assumption but good well as I said they concluded meeting I just let everybody know I'm just curious were the Auditors on site or was everything remote uh the majority of it was remote work they were on site for only one day in December um but the majority of
it was scanning and uh uploading into a portal we had Crow was our were the Auditors this time all right Andrew thank you very much Dr V this evening so uh start with the administration paint other than touch-ups are complete technology is a little bit of a turn uh right now so a lot of Technology going in wiring data hookups installed projectors in the boardroom are installed and operable um going up and down always nice to see some of those things start to happen so some remaining items are furniture furniture scheduled to to arrive the week of February 24th uh window treat M ments cabinets countertops window Stills and the board desk and panels are the board desk so that has been a hurdle um over the last couple weeks so Greg with his team
at at Kettle Hut and and Jeff with CSO been working on that piece and we do have a plan uh where starting next week we'll get the window sills and then kind of each week through March 17th then if all that lines out then uh board desk would be the final piece and March 17th we'll get those on site and will install that so that is uh pushing us back but they are working on some other things as well they have come out and done some some gravel work um in the front there to to bring that up with the sidewalk that's there and um and so it is people are interested in taking a look we can find a time and um we can walk through and maybe even use some PS and keys
so exciting right so but it is is a very sharp looking building um so it is coming together nice even though we had a few delays so lay there as we wait on those because I know original timeline was supposed to be done about now um on those so line electric is going through some things on their end um had a plant in Illinois that shut down be um acquired um by another another by purchaser who whoever that will be so um we are told that communication is there obviously this is tied to Federal grant um money and um expected to still receive those buses and last we heard was um about a 4mon delay dependent of course on the acquisition of line electric proceeds but that is uh currently what we have so um
so just a February is love the bus month uh Wednesday February 26th we uh driver monitor appreciation day so definitely appreciate the work they put in in each day getting our students to from school and that's safe so love the bus month uh Power School breach update um just a an update there from from last month um so we've Contin to work with power school collaboratively through that breach that occurred in late December so uh we have submitted their data request um but there with what we need to be doing and what we need to get them so um so now that we have done that power school will be monitoring turn supports with that as well so um in the curriculum instruction assessment World High reliability schools a team of Administrators and teachers recently
attended the high reliability School Summit in San Antonio uh so it's the second year we went there um and this year we did receive National recognition of our buildings and District being level one certified so that was uh that was exciting on the stage with Bob Marzano himself so um so that was that was a an exciting achievement so again second year um again great feedback on that conference high level information and support the principles and teachers are were able to come back with from um by the end of the school year and and definitely a strong strong kudos to our principles and teachers they are they're doing the magic um within that framework and so it's exciting work to see and and definitely proud of what what our principles and teachers are doing with
nhrs uh new teacher Institute so we had STS Mark the the one year mark so to speak that we've kind of started this this program so um proud of the engagement collaboration that's occurred throughout this first year uh credit goes to mentors mentees principles that have helped uh put that that program together so our Mentor uh teachers um especially I'd like to give them a shout out Jenny Beach Stacy guard Rachel O'Neal Andrew Swang spring Perry Molly white cotton so um and we're continuing to to learn more and make those changes and it is an exciting thing to to be able to to offer and support uh with the Great people that we have so uh lastly reading adoption uh so team of elementary teachers and principles recently attended textbook Caravan uh programs uh there
and I've been exploring sample materials since then uh instructional coaches also recently visited another school of one of those programs to see it kind of in action and be able to talk to some teachers there so uh next steps will be to get a selection committee together review that curriculum line to a rubric that um hopefully soon here with a with a recommendation for that K5 reading adoption if anybody's interested in being a part of that let drer I know and we'll get you included in that that process so I know sounds exciting into all the videos so yeah silence reading podcast yeah that is your assistant superintendent report Dr Boer does the bus situation caus any transportation issues like no it does not so and we actually did just get our third of that
we had order when was that almost two years ago two years uh but it did arrive about about a week ago um so we do have three new diesel buses that are in thank you Dr good evening everyone appreciate this opportunity want to thank Dr Boart Mr Nicodemus Stephanie they're all doing great work and trying to take care of business of school so it's outstanding and Stephanie is trying to keep up with my schedule and figure out where I'm at so this is my public apology that I didn't have my schedule correct and she didn't know where I was I was with Dr Bart yesterday I got in trouble so so all right um yeah thank you Mr Welter and H for hosting our board meeting various conversations about whether or not you could transition
little K1 kids so that was interesting to hear I think that also goes into other conversations about how we handle our accelerated math and different ways there so kudos to you for trying it sounds like maybe even making it work and things are already chaotic why not add a little bit more sometimes chaos and Chaos equal stability I don't great job establishing a safe supportive and collaborative environment for our students and our staff um I believe your arrival has been greatly received um I think that you built on a lot of things that were in place but you putting your own little Dash on it and it's outstanding so keep it going apprciate uh several celebrations if you do look in the Athenian Oracle you'll see that this is just 591 um K through 12
students and this is 82 students higher than our fall count date and 237 students higher than we were last year um that does include the Athens Virtual Academy um which has grown to 299 students for count day um course we do believe that we will have upper 30s to somewhere in 40 some graduates um this spring from the Virtual Academy so that's outstanding percentage break down how many of those students were of the 299 um approximately 90 were with us at some point in time if you remember last year um Mr Melton did a great job of going out and reaching out to several kids who had um left us and to bring them back whether they had withdrawn to home school whether they had dropped out or they had gone to a virtual school
of different choice so we brought in you know several kids 40 some there so about if I do have the exact numbers I'm not going to miss up takes a while to get everything certified so I here were the questions I asked her how many CHS students have moved to Aba so 97 of the students who came in their last school was propil high school now some of those had been a while um how many CH students have moved since fall so I think this is an important one 27 have moved um so you know but if you look in the past well CHS now is down to probably where we were it's about 2012 is where we're at but it you the high school always loses into the spring um so I think here
was instead of just losing them elsewhere we've been able to find out of chs's dropouts or homeschool that we brought back into ABA with 24 um how many CMS students have moved to Aba it's 26 um how many CMS students have moved to ABA since the fall count six so you see Middle School is not as fast um we have had we you know how many do we predict will graduate out of the 59 current seniors um they have 37 to 40 so that's a prediction um but I think you know the that would put us well above the state average and probably in the top for virtual school graduates now that that's a lot of because again having Mr Melton and Sarah they knew kids to go reach out to that were close and
those type of things so I would say that ABA has provided much greater for our students and there so many different reasons why people choose AA um we've had and it is interesting like we have had some people go from us to like a connections and people come from connections to us they're just I parents are probably shopping a lot more than I expected and trying to find the right fit for them I assume because of the virtual nature there won't be any kind of a graduation ceremony for them as an option I think it's on your calendar but yes we will have graduation the day after I apologize if you haven't got that so yes you should you okay well shame on me that is my responsibility and we'll get that done okay yeah
we have the diplomas we have yes it'll look more like your um probably Adult Ed size but yes there is a graduation it is the day after the high school graduation so May 30th Friday May 30th is the high school graduation will be Saturday May 31st correct Satur okay do we have a Time just [Music] so's i s you thank you good question right now it's marked as all day we're be all day all day okay we will fix that for you those type of things virtual students there is less funding provided for virtual students that take out currently take out 15% um have been told that the amendment to the house bill on Monday the 17th um will probably amend will address how they fund virtual schools so that's that is one we will
we'll look at closely and see how that um sophomore Addison James was asked to sing the national anthem at gamebridge Fieldhouse for the ihsa girls basketball state finals on March 1st she has sang at the ihsa soccer she's a member of both the concert and choir show choirs at CHS and previously has the star spangle Banner at Iron Man Raceway the girls swim team repeated its sectional Champions boys JV in Varsity basketall teams both one we did our reading with Alexander which I not have so Britney what say about reading with Alexander it went really well kids were super excited and the teachers were very they pumped it up a lot and the kids were sending tons of pictures and they wanted the teacher to pull it up every day did you see my picture
I sent it to you so very excited haven't seen it's kind of a flat St sort of experience so this is the beauty of having an amazing team kind of had this idea had to figure out like how to come up with something and then ask me is this what you want or I'm like I don't know but about this they did amazing it was wonderful uh yes the pictures in the Oracle are just adorable yeah and the timing was really really good we we were originally going to rolled out before break winter break um and we waited and it was good timing it was just a Rejuvenation with their stuffed animals or what they're reading to not just Alex but you know family members yes thank you Bry and to all those who are
involved um was wonderful and for the placement for next year and give them an opportunity to give any sort of feedback that they want to including feedback from myself um so and they can ask to meet if needed so Kathy steel had this old purple sheet that we would have to fill out and it is good to see so um Community Dr Bart and I attended this Saturday's legislative breakfast hosted by the mcgomery County Chamber of Commerce to converse with our local legislators kind of hear their updates um Senate bill one was being talked about that's the one you've heard a lot on um significant tax cuts which right we all like tax cuts except for those who of us who operate on a tax base I'll talk out as the governor plan they amend
it and then they will send it off and then it will merge with House Bill 101 so which that really is then where things really begin so I've been kind of looking at C Bill one Andrew's watching the house bill um I did go over and speak with representative Thompson so he and just good conversations trying to develop relationships um is kind of nice he does have Crawford Z Athenian um magnet on his wall because he took over Tim Brown's office and so that was good good Wednesday morning I went over early and for the Indiana small rural school superintendent and legislator breakfast um so that was a good time did get to see Dr bowling there um and um you again just trying to make those connections relations and hear those things that are
coming along um it's important on Monday February 3rd I met with mayor Barton individuals who would hire people to come into Crawford Zone Q is one of our our largest employers of our parents um so when they called and asked hey could you guys give us a mini buuz I was like I to be a mini bus and a driver um so um definitely was good and it's great to hear the mayor's tour um and go through um I only missed one backround and um obviously everybody loves to see our high school and if you can believe it's 30 years old uh the latest run on the amended Senate bill one came out last last night um so that looked much better for us um because what they did take out a lot of the
homestead credits is on the initial run we were losing about a half a million dollars um and then on this run which is really currently impacted mainly by CH land um so so then the loss that they show you know so over this year kind of stay steady at the um maximum Levy grow quotient then it can go up 1% the next year and 2% so as the value of the land goes up the the benefit or the tax benefit also grows so it shows more loss um they have yeah and you can you just see that the because obviously we have little to no Farmland in our schoolb if they you know so that is interesting to see like so it's us and like Wayne Township areas that have seen a lot of assessed
value go away but have high number of students um so we will see where things go that you know overall for education and this set of things like you know one the county RDC they take some hits the city RDC has a zero um because again I'm assuming there's not much Farmland in thec so those things are interesting um it is nice that being invited to things I guess I get you know so a seconde superintendent when the average is so um but no just definitely moving along uh announcements the next board meeting is Thursday March 13th at CMS um the February athenium Oracle is available and I'm re Striker I'm glad to be on thank thank you that corer any other business hearing then board member Communications Patron comments from in favor everyone
