first and a second. Just for clarification, Lynn, this is us approving the maximum tax levy that we can impose before the end of the year, right? >> That is correct. You'll have an opportunity to reduce it if you would choose. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Uh first and a second. All in favor, please say I. >> I. Any opposed? Thank you. 3.04 Resolution to transfer amounts from the education fund to the operations fund. Thank you. Public law 244-20 2017 higher education act 1009 requires that the entire state tuition support payment be receded to the education fund and then a portion transferred from the education fund by board resolution. This resolution allows that portion of the annual state support revenue to be transferred to the operations fund. For 2026, the transfer amount is set at $4,14,000,

which represents an 8.4% transfer amount. administration recommends that this resolution be adopted in order for a portion of state tuition support to fund the portion of operation fund expenses that were previously funded by state support when these expenditures were part of the general fund. Lastly, keep in mind that the board may at any time during the budget year by resolution at a public meeting reduce this transfer amount from education to operations fund if it needs to or desires. We recommend approval. >> Thank you, Lynn. I'll entertain a motion. Lyn, >> I do have a question on that. What is the maximum percentage that the district can take? >> 15. Okay, >> that's what I thought. Thank you. I'll make a motion to accept the resolution to transfer amounts from the education fund to the operations.

>> I'll second a second. Uh Lynn, one one more question. Did this percent recently go up? Was it last the last cycle that the was there a new law passed on this or is this old? >> This is old. Um it it went into effect in 2019 when the education fund took over and replaced the general fund and operations took all the other funds. >> Thank you. Uh there being if there's no further discussion all those in favor please say >> I. >> Any opposed? 3.05 05 resolution um sorry looking at already resolution reduce the 2026 budget appropriation on contingency. >> Thank you. Administration recommends that the board grant authority to the superintendent and the chief financial officer to reduce the following areas of the 2026 budget for any of the budgeted funds upon receipt

of our 1782 notice from the DGF. And that is the budget uh resolution that comes in or I should say the budget paperwork that comes in from DLGF. That's the point where we can still make any um reductions. So this resolution gives authority to reduce any of the 2026 budget appropriations. The appropriations necessary for the period from July 1 to December 31st of 2025. It allows us to reduce the operating balance, the tax rate or the tax levy. You grant this generally as a housekeeping item each year. Um we have used it um in the distant past, but this will be your last opportunity with this resolution to direct the superintendent and I to reduce any of the items that you might wish to reduce prior to the budget going into effect. Okay, >> I'll

make a motion to accept the resolution to reduce the 2026 budget appropriations, tax rates, tax levies, andor operating balances. >> I'll second. >> I have a first and a second. So, Lyn, this is essentially us delegating authority to Dr. Pettit to reduce it once we receive that form, right, from the DGF? >> Yes, Dr. Pettit and me. >> Okay. When does that form come in? >> Um, it is typically comes in uh around actually Christmas time. So, um, the state is supposed to have it out to us by the 31st of December at the latest. >> Okay. So, then it comes out December 30th or whatever and and we can then make the decision on what to do with our tax rates. >> Yes. We have 10 days from the date that it that it

arrives, 10 work days to make any decisions to reduce any of those items. And >> so, the reason you say it's our last opportunity is because there simply isn't time between that and the end of the year to call another meeting. That's why we asked for the resolution because you would have to call a special meeting um at at the last minute in order to try to do that and there wouldn't be time enough um as you said to actually um advertise that type of meeting. >> Okay, I have a first and a second. All in favor, please say I. >> I. Any >> opposed? 3.06 permission to advertise additional appropriation hearing on 1110205. >> Thank you. This has also become an annual event. During calendar 2025, several changes occurred or are anticipated to occur

in the fourth quarter in conjunction with the evolving needs that increased or will increase the following initial expenditure categories in both the referendum fund and the education fund budget. Specifically in the education fund, um we would look to in um this with this hearing to increase the instructional salary and benefit um category and in the referendum fund support for instruction and students as well as instructional salaries and benefits. The hearing, as noted, will occur at the end of the uh 1110 regular board meeting. The amounts to be appropriated are $400,000 for the referendum fund and $800,000 for the education fund. The dollars being used are part of the overall 2025 revenue and are not a draw down on cash balances for either fund. Therefore, administration recommends that the board of school trustees advertise on 102925

um and then conduct an additional appropriations hearing um at the November board meeting for those two funds. >> I'll entertain a motion on permission to advertise additional appropriations. I'll make a motion to accept the permission to advertise for an additional appropriations hearing. >> Second. >> The first and the second. Any further discussion? All in favor, please say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? >> Thank you. >> I'll entertain a motion to adjurnn. We're at the end of our agenda. So moved. We're >> Don't leave. You got to sign and hear you. This is everybody's
