You do stand your name. >> Are you ready for public comment? >> Yes. >> Thank you very much. I'm Bill. I have just a point of clarification for the board. We were talking about the contracting out of the type of services. So my question is, is that a study you guys are doing or have you put out uh bids to different people to see and then we'll review those? >> We're getting ready to do the uh bidding now. Uh we're getting the paperwork together. >> Okay. >> Uh got I don't know. We got a few dates, don't we? Uh yeah, like uh they're going to be able to question us on February 24th to 26. We're going to have a walk through with them of February. And so all this reviewing the proposals and stuff
on March 9th and uh a finalist presentation if there is one on the 20th and then uh interviews and stuff from March 30th to April 3rd and April 13th is when we got down to award a contract if one is to be done. the >> and then the effective date to start would be July 1st. But I mean, you know, them dates can change a little bit, but that's that's what we're putting in the proposal. >> I appreciate that information that the uh I used to set on the board of director for a long time and so when we would do stuff like that, you know, we we had a list of what it is we were looking for out of contract. Do you have that or is that going to be taking place during
your walk through or >> We've got that but it's not been finalized yet. We got a few things to add to it >> but it's it's we're close. >> We're close. >> Okay. >> A lot of lot of the stuff put in there and we're trying to get it just right. >> Oh, I understand that completely. But is that information that public information once you get that final line? >> It will be. Yes. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Don Julian and follow up with my question from [clears throat] the last school board. Uh when you get the results from the walk through then from the contractors and I'm assuming you're going to have more than one the way it sounds then so you're waiting on the lowest and the cheapest cost. Is that what you're
looking at? >> Not necessarily. And the second question, thank you for your time. Uh, once you have that lowest in your hand, does the board does the board have an input on the cost that that what what you guys are going to be uh voting on? Do you have any input like it be negotiated or whatever? >> You mean their price? >> Yeah. I guess we have a say in anything we do, but as far as negotiations, there'll be a time for that. >> Okay. And and I just want to reiterate the the employees uh that you have here, we please take under consideration their families, [snorts] their pensions, and their healthcare because we're talking about people lived in Gibson County. So, make sure you figure that into the cost. >> We're a long way
from that yet. >> Okay, great. >> Long way from that. >> I know that. Thank you for your time. >> Anyone else? >> Stevenville, we know that in the past you've had to make some tough decisions. We hear that. But I just want to bring up that there's several people here from Gibson County that's paid property tax here for over 50 years. Glad to do it. We want to support our system. And so I understand this is a money thing, but it's also a moral issue. You've got your employees been with you. You can't just move them. That's been with you. That's not only custodial work but maintenance and you know them we know them. So please you know what I haven't heard is are we negotiating in good faith under the current agreement and
we're asking you to please negotiate in good faith and keep in mind the moral issue here of what's going to happen to these employees if that happens. Thank you. >> Thanks Steve. Anyone else? I have a nephihood and it's his future and I'm sure others on that do the work the same thing and just I have a hard time understanding I know it's money it's got the money but I have a hard time wondering why you guys I never want your job I know it's hard decision but if it's your family your good friends would you still be the same thing because of the money or you take consideration. You know, I know quite a few of you on the board and I know you're all good people. I know, but I like the moral
aspect of it. >> I've had to make him tough decisions before. >> That's not the fun part of the job. >> Just think about Anyone [clears throat] else? >> All right, I'll turn [snorts] >> over. Any questions or comments on those? If not, I need a motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion. We have a motion. We have a second. >> Second. >> All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Opposed. >> We've also had a chance to look over the January 26 treasures report and claims. >> Any questions or comments? Not any motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion to the treasures report. >> We have a motion of second. >> All those in favor say I. >> All right. Thank you, sir. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. this evening underneath
O business. Um during the last board meeting, you tabled the U school board stipen [clears throat] in 2025. The legislative session approved the [clears throat] increase in the school board stipen to [clears throat] go from the statutory previous amount of $2,000 up to 10% of beginning teacher salary. which for us our beginning teacher salary is 45,000. Um so um I need a motion first of all to unt piece of old business. >> I'll make a motion to untot. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Okay. Any discussion? >> Okay. All those in favor to unt signify by saying I >> oppose the saying. >> Okay. At this point in time, as I shared with you, the annual statement previously has been $2,000. The um state legislator has allowed the board to increase that rate
to 4500 or anything in between those two amounts. Um so I need a motion this evening of what the board would like to do with that. >> I would I would like to make the motion that% $4500. >> Okay. So, we have a motion to move to the full 10% of $4,500. >> Do I have a second for that? >> I'll second. >> I have a motion, a second. Any discussion? >> Um, how long has it been since the board received a raise? Well, I don't want to point out that anyone's been on here forever, but Roger um I believe he said that to his knowledge it's probably not been changed in 25 years. >> And this is this is simply come about because of legislative changes from the state. >> Yes. >> This this
is statutoily in the law, Indiana state law that it was $2,000 for Rogers said 25 years if not more. So this year they or in 2025 they increased that to 10% of your beginning teacher salary and I will tell you the majority to my knowledge majority of the school boards across the state have increased to that amount >> and most of them get a per meeting on top of that >> correct you guys have not done but you can have a for additional meetings on top of that you got okay I have a motion and a second for 4500 any further discussion All those in favor signify by saying I >> I >> oppose the same. >> I that passes rule one. >> Okay. Next up this evening under the new business. Um I'm going
to I'm going to share with the community tonight. We're taking on several issues of school security. Um you know this is something that we see each and every day. Um unfortunately I think even today there was a school shooting at a high school. Um So, this is a new visitor management system. Um, what will happen is when individuals come into the school building, uh, they will have to scan their driver's license, it will go out to a sex offender site and immediately check to see if that individual pops up as a sex offender. If it if that person does, it will alert the secretary and principal and possibly even school resource officer that we can then take additional steps to make sure that person does not come into the school. Uh the other nice thing
about this is is that at any one time myself or andor our school resource officer or any administrator can see all of the visitors that we have in the school. So like if we have vendors in the school um that are working on something, we can see that. Um so um this is part of what's called Raptor Technologies. Raptor is built around the I love you guys, which does a lot of school safety initiatives and training. Um this would um go right along with our current um u system that we have in place as far as lockdown procedures and those types of things. The system will cost a one-time expense of $2,590 and an ongoing annual expense of $2388. That first one is mainly just for like the labels, the printers to print out the
labels and those types of things. Um this is u really quite honestly it's it's a it's a nice inexpensive way for us to once again take a step towards school safety. It will also count as part of our matching for school safety grant as well. So it can be used at that aspect. >> Is this per building? >> No. No. This is corporation. >> So what are they going to scan? They'll have they'll have their own stand. >> Yeah. Each of our each of our u entrances to the buildings will have iPad that will be sitting there and they'll scan it on with the camera on the iPad >> on the outside of the building. >> Uh, no, in the office, it'll be in the office. >> So, they're going to get in the building.
>> They'll still get in the building. Yeah. Yeah. Unfortunately, that's case. Now, the other thing too that's really nice as well is that like let's say Josh does it the first time and as a parent, he doesn't then have to go back through and he can just say, "Hey, I'm coming to the school." And it will go through and make him do all that stuff again. They can also like if they're on the way to school, they can use their camera to scan it, go into our app and they can go ahead and complete the whole process to where they can walk right in and get their kid. >> We're still working on that aspect though, Steve. I know what you're talking about. We really would like to get to that point where we can't
even get in the building. >> Okay, I need a motion to approve that. I'll make a motion to approve it. >> I've got a motion. Do I have a second? >> I'll second it. >> I got a motion. Second. Any further discussion? >> The first year? >> Yes. >> Does that $2590 include the $2388? So, the first year is actually going to be >> a total of those two figures. Okay. Yeah. A total of those two figures. That first one there, you're mainly just paying for the equipment, those types of things. >> Yeah. Right. And as we go through, like right now, what we're doing with our school resource grant is we're replacing our doors. Um, as we get done with those doors and we do other things, we can also possibly eventually come back
and fun as well. So, so just be aware of that. We can fund that someplace possibly down the road with a grant. So, >> I got Thank you. I got a motion. I got a second. >> I got a second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. >> Okay. Oppose the same. Okay, that passes by vote. Along those same lines, the same company, um I want to give kudos first of all to uh Mrs. Cruz, wherever she is. Anyway, uh we are required legally to have an anonymous reporting system and she did this this this year um through Google. Um and it it served the purpose. Let's just say that this is actually a system uh we've got a price break because we were doing the visitors management system. This is
an anonymous reporting system that's called um stay safe speak up system. The system will cost a onetime expense of 550 and an annual expense of 990. So what this will allow us to do is this allows us to have parents, community members, students, it'll be on our website that they can make an anonymous report. So, it could be a bullying issue, it could be a threat, it could be a weapons issue, um, anything like that. And that would then get immediately channeled through emails to our school resource officers, to our administrators, whoever we wanted to do. If it is a threat situation, in other words, like someone's going to come in and shoot at the school, they will make a verbal contact. In other words, they will begin calling our list of individuals, and they
will not stop calling until they have gotten a hold of someone. make that report. So, um this right now we're relying on our secretaries to see that this is an instantaneous situation. Once the reports made, it's automatically immediately funneled to people through the email process or through text message. >> How do we get the information out there to the parents? >> So, that like I said, we're going through social media. We'll send that out there. And then as well, we will send that out there through uh um let me let me ask you a question. where you talk about how they do it. How do we get the information out to the parents for the Oh, okay. So, yeah, that would be shared through social media. It'll also be on a web page as well.
So, and what I'd like to see happen as we get into this process is that we start training our kids that how to do this because a lot of our parents, >> right, a lot of reports come from our kids. You know, they hear something um and they want to report it. I need a motion to approve this. >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> I need a second. >> I'll second. >> I got a motion in second. Any further discussion? Is somebody going to be over this? I guess how does that work? So, really right now I'm taking care of setting it up and then we'll work with Bart as well over their school safety specialist. >> Uh it will probably be multiple people because it's What it is is an automatic um
communication. So it's not really you have to monitor it. It's like if you went in and made a report, then whoever we have set up in the system would receive an email that that anonymous little boy went in and made a report. >> Yeah, it alerts your email. >> I think you can also get text messages as well. Does the student make the report on an app on a device? >> They it can have an app. Yes. >> What's the primary mode of them making the report? >> What the primary motive making? >> They can actually use their phone. There is an app. They can also go on the website. We have a link on there as well. So, but I think the app is some that bothers me. So, maybe have at the school
where they go >> and they can also use their iPads as >> well. Yeah, we the the link that we have right now is a Google form. So, I have several students that have used it this year. Um that they just can get on their iPad they don't know. It just looks like they're getting on there. Yeah. >> And so they could get on there and make a report that way. And the you can kind of think about the alert as kind of like clon like there's an alarm off the building, they're going to keep calling until they get a hold of somebody. So, I think that's what we're paying for is more that monitoring that if you have a kiddo that something's happening at home, some, you know, something's happening at night, they've seen
something on social media, um, you know, kids will reach out to their friends >> way more quickly than they'll reach out to us. And so, it's just a method of getting information to who it needs to be with more quickly. >> There's a long list of stuff that we can put in there. Suicide If one of my friends is thinking about suicide, I put that report in. So, it's not just a threat situation. There's a lot of things in it. >> Is the app is that something that we can push out for all the kids that school owns automatically. So, it will be there. >> Yeah. Push. >> Sure. Johnny could probably put that on the iPad. >> That' be a question though. on this. Does this only pertain to during school hours, classroom stuff
>> or is this for like sporting events? Say during sometimes we have things. >> It can be any 24 hours a day. So like on the weekends, it can be that they hear something or talk about something. Um it can be that they hear something that's going to happen at the basketball game. It can be anything. But the system will be activated 24 hours a day, seven days a week. >> I know that's only that's school hours only. >> Okay. That's why Well, you know, like sometimes you have events during school hours like maybe And people come in, you know, I'm just saying >> you might want to say it's hypothetical. Sometimes people got mean way. >> So the system actually >> the system actually allows for that. So like we have grandparents day. So
for grandparents day we can actually create a QR code that we would push out on the invitation and all the grandparents can register ahead of time so that when they report we have a sticker for them and if they don't have a sticker they don't get in. So it's it's pretty slick and so but that's an example of what we can do. Now basketball games that's at night time that's a different thing. It won't won't handle that kind of stuff. But anything that >> handles the things that happen during the regular school day, we can do things to to make sure that those people are checked out. >> Ready for a vote? >> Okay. All in favor? >> Okay. Those opposed? >> Can we do all favor? >> Okay. All in favor signify by saying
I. >> Oppose the same. >> Okay, that carries. So, next thing dealing with school safety again. Um, we we're doing checking into our advs this year and our AEDs are about 20 some odd years old. Um, so they have lived out their life expectancy. Um, we have a procurement agreement with a company called Omnia and um, we can actually have Centas of us are AEDs. And so, um, to give you an idea of what the cost of an AED is, about $4,200. Um, so that kind of gives you an idea because I when I first saw this price per month, I kind of thought, well, that's kind of high. So then I went out and looked at this. What we are getting is we're getting eight EEDs. Seven of them will be cabinet based. They're
replacing our cabinets. Um, and then we are also adding one in the weight bar because we do not have one out there. And We're also adding one in the hitting barn down there so that we have those two areas covered. And then we also have a grab and run which would allow us to take one out to the soccer field in the fall so that we would have one out there as well. So um in addition to that, what CentOS will do is they will come in, they will inspect them, they'll check the batteries, they'll check the pads, they'll replace all of that. If you've not replaced that, those are very expensive as well in addition to just the price of the AED. So, it's 1080 per month. We can drop this at any time.
It's not a three-year contract or anything like that. If we ever get to that point, we say, you know, we want to stop this, we can stop this. Um, but for me, for the peace of mind of it coming, I know we've had one of our teachers that we actually save their her life using our AEDs. Um, this is something that I think that that's good for the corporation. So, we're keeping what we've got a few. >> No, well, we're replacing the ones we all gone. They're all going to all be gone. They're going to be replaced with this ZO AED3, which is pretty well a common one nowadays. The ones that we have are Phillips. Um, and I know when I was talking to CentOS, they actually um they don't hold their charge well.
They've had some warranty issues with it. So, it was something that I was concerned about that we needed to replace. >> This will be probably done maybe this week or early next week once we have approval. >> So, the the ones we have will still be in place and Until >> until Yes. Until they're replaced. >> One is replaced. >> Yes. >> They're obsolete. >> We had somebody donate. [clears throat] >> Did we? Yeah. But they're all obsolete now. They're overrated. >> Is there a buyout option on these? Let's say a year we decide to >> I'm not sure on that. Um I'm sure there would be I kind of priced it out. It would take us three years if we were actually buying them ourselves to pay for it. >> Yeah. >> We'll do
this 12 months out of the year. >> Yes. >> Our nurses have been taking care of them now. And so, like, for example, when we came back from Christmas break, one, we were having issues with one of them. And so, they had to check the batteries. I think they probably got it working, but we all of that would fall on CentOS. They'll they'll come through monthly. They will check them. They'll check pads, batteries, all that. >> And do we have eight currently? >> We currently, I think, have six or seven is what it is. >> I've been going out working out farm. So, that's really why I wanted out there because I just know what will happen. >> All right. So, I need a motion to approve that. >> Okay. I got a motion. Do
I have a second? >> Second. >> Okay. I got a motion. Second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I oppose the same. Okay, that carries. I will also say along the same lines of safety and you guys I know probably several of you use Ascension Health. Ascension Health. I want to give kudos to Donna Huber who's our school resource officer. She's been working with Ascension Health and they have agreed to donate 78 um stop thebleleed kits uh which is um for every classroom in the corporation and that is a very very expensive donation. I don't know if you guys have ever tried to put together the stop the bleed kits but there's a lot of stuff in there that costs quite a bit but uh we're working on finalizing that that
will hopefully be in place by the start of next school year. They're also going to come in and do training with our teachers of how to put those tourniquets on and those kinds of things. And so, uh, we want to extend a great appreciation to Ascension Health on that. So, but great things are happening. We're happy about that. Okay. Next up this evening, you have a proposal from Greers Flooring. Uh, we have used Greers, I think the past two summers to do flooring projects and the corporation. Um the proposals that you have there is to complete four classrooms at Wood Memorial Intermediate School. I believe this will complete all of the classrooms over there for flooring and then the Wood Memorial Middle School hallway. So this is U coming down the main hallway and then
turning and going down towards the CTE wing over there. Um the hallways at middle schools for 60,51078. The intermediate schools for 20,65736. This would be paid out of operations and complet Um, we've had a lot of great compliments about the flooring that we have out here in the high school. It's definitely brightened up the building and make it look really nice. Um, so we're using we did not get three quotes because Brers is our preferred vendor that we've used in the past and so that's why we're just bring a motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> Okay, I've got a motion to approve. Do I have a second? >> A second. Okay, I got a motion in second. Um, any further discussion? >> So, the uh middle school hallway will be
the tile. >> Yes, it will be the LBT. >> Same thing as we got in the high school. >> And I think Amanda went to do the same colors as well. >> Same. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I approve the same. Oppose the same. That passes my vote. Boy, I'm having problems. Next up this evening, um you have there are three quotes for the replacement of the lower bleachers in Wood Memorial High School gymnasium. Um this past summer during our inspection, um it came up that they were no they no longer met expect inspection that we needed to replace the rollers at the cost of approximately $81,000. To my knowledge, those are about So before we go into this too much, I'd like to go ahead and table that. Okay.
>> I really do it, >> but I just don't feel like we've got enough information. >> We can have Jeremy here at the next board meeting. He was going to be here tonight, but he turned the big 5 tonight. He said his wife had birthday dinner for him. So I told him to have that. I'd like to know more. >> Gotcha. Okay. So, I have a motion to table. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Okay, I got a motion to second. Any discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I >> oppose the same. Okay, that will be tabled until the March. >> Um, Mrs. Cruz, I'm gonna turn it over to you. You have a presentation tonight. for consideration of the modeling youth apprentichip for education professions job description. You want to
say anything about that miss? >> Yeah. So this is I had kind of briefly mentioned this. I'm going to do it briefly. I kind of briefly mentioned this the last time that we were here. There is um with the new diploma what one of the big changes with the new diploma track is getting students experiences in job like situations. Okay. So we often call it internships, job shadowing. Um there is the opportunity for a modern youth apprenticeship. Um we have worked with Katie Beck from SIEC to develop u essentially what we can call a a youth apprenticeship because the students will hopefully get over 650 hours in a primary school or intermediate school classroom. So these would be students that have done the coursework in the education professions pathway. So these are uh young ladies
and gentlemen who have said I have interest in being a teacher and they have to take a series of courses. Uh the first would be intro to education. Uh the second is child and adolescent development and then there's a course called teaching and learning. So, their junior and senior year, they would have have the opportunity to apply um and interview with our lovely elementary school principles. And then if they were hired, they're not guaranteed a position, but if they were hired and if it was beneficial to our students at those two schools, um we would use them as instructional assistants. So, they could serve any of those roles is what our current instructional assistants do. Uh I would propose that we do pay them. Right now, we have some girls that have gone down and
gotten some um some hours in the classrooms, but we're not paying them. It's an unpaid internship. I would propose that this be paid. So, we would pay them um at the rate of an instruction, a beginning instructional assistant, so 1375 per hour. Um the great thing about that is East E Gibson, if we approve that, uh we can I I'm in a program called work and learn where we can advertise the internship in work and learn. Um And then through work and learn we can be reimbursed to up to 50% of what we pay them. So they get the experience um we get uh for that course we could get 700 between 710 to,65 is the current CTE funding for those girls in that program. Um I say girls because I have one boy in
the three years that I've done it but um and that would be per credit. Okay. So they we could get that funding um for those girls for each semester that they would be enrolled in that course. So we would get CTE funding on top of getting 50% reimbursement and they would get um the job on the job training and it's it's definitely on the job training. Um but you know the idea being that these are girls and gentlemen who might go into education in kind of a grow your own atmosphere where these are people that we want to go into the world of education uh because we need good qualified teachers. So I would propose that I think it benefits us in many instances especially uh right now we don't have a modern youth apprenticeship
in any capacity with the exception of 4T is moving to one um but it's really difficult to get the number of hours and the training plans and all the things in place to be considered a modern youth apprentichip >> and this is in line with the new diploma where we're headed with that. So the state is really pushing for these capstone experiences to actually experiences. >> A motion for that motion. >> Okay. Have a motion for that. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> A motion to second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. Oppos the same. That carries. I will also say that as you guys uh may remember back in the fall you approved the construction pathway and we we're getting ready to post that position and see
if we can get somebody and and try to start that pathway. So, we're excited about that. >> Okay. Uh this evening you have your personnel recommendations there for your consideration. I'll let you look over those and then I'll entertain a motion for them. I need a motion for that. >> I'll make a motion to approve the personnel recommendations. >> Okay, I have a motion to approve that. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Have a motion and second. Any further discussion? I do want to uh take just a moment to recognize two of our teachers, Karen Miller and Julie Locris, has submitted their retirement letters. We will be recognizing them later on this year with presentation. I just want to thank both of those ladies for their years of service to uh East Gibson
School Corporation and amount of kids and lives that they have touched. We really appreciate that. Wishing the best in the retirement. All those in favor signify by saying I >> oppose the same. And that carries. [snorts] So um you have there my uh report uh for this evening what I've been working on [snorts] the past month. I will We are working on the strategic plan. Kind of getting some things done. I'm also going to begin working with a group to write the nonprofit security grant. Um that we are working on to do that is to replace all of our security cameras here in this facility. So we'll keep our fingers crossed that we can get that get that across the line because we definitely need that. And we are starting to look at staffing for
next year since we do have retirements. So, we'll be kind of checking [clears throat] numbers and where numbers end up see what we can do. Try to make it short and sweet for you tonight. How's that? >> Turn it over to you, Mr. President. >> All right. Uh, principal report. Who wants to start? >> We just wrapped up our winter sport. So, um, our sixth grade basketball team are finished. So, they work They struggled. We also just finished our second checkpoint. Um I was very pleased with the scores once again. So our third grade and fifth grade were both um significantly above state average in both math and we have our wax museum. Our fifth grade students are putting on their pants on Thursday from 1 to 2. >> None of them look like me.
>> Oh my goodness. [snorts] last week and Dr. mention the I love you guys set up program and we got to hear the speaker from some good ideas I think to move forward and we are we finished up our testing we did our middle test um stayed about the same one way or the other we have about um 32% of our proficiency 20% is above and then 25 is below and 23% is kind of the yellow um approaching. Um we will participate in I testing um at the beginning of March and that will be for our second graders um going into third grade. They just have to pass it by third grade. So our second graders will have that opportunity and then Dr. and I met with building blocks um today actually and um they're
going to be coaching our preschool teachers and doing some important things and helping us kind of set some standardiz so that we can better align our preschool with what they're going to see in kindergarten. >> All right, thank you. Now, Mrs. H. I have. So, I'm going to start with I was bragging the last time we were here about being in Disney. So, I'll start with Disney. Um, first of all, the Disney Cops Connecting with Kids Disney trip is not a leisure trip. So, if you think you're going to go to Disney and not run around like crazy, you're wrong. Um, but we took two boys, two girls, um, eighth graders from Wood Memorial Middle School and, uh, we had a blast. They're going to be here at the next board meeting to share their
experience. So, I don't want to go into much detail other than to tell you um we had with the snow forecast, we had to cut out Animal Kingdom and we came back a day early, but it was 100% the right right. >> You didn't want to get stuck down there. >> I did not want to get I and here's what I'm going to tell you. I didn't want to get stuck down there with other people's kids. Like, uh as much as I love ours, keep in mind they weren't the only four that were there. Uh but that was 100% the right the right decision. had a lot of fun with the Sheriff Van Oven and Jim Tucker and Jason Colum. It was it was a blast and the kids really had a great experience. Um,
I do want to give a shout out to our custodial staff. I know Steve, you helped to everybody that helped clean up the snow. U, there's still piles of it everywhere, but um, I was glad we were able to get get kids back in school um, you know, just a week after that that snowfall. Uh, winter homecoming did didn't have the dance or or the celebration afterwards. I was glad we were able to have a winter homecoming. Dr. Schlottman and her her kids always do such a good job of getting that set up. So, I appreciate that. Uh I want to give a shout out to our high school girls basketball program. Um if you followed our high school program, they had some devastating injuries to end the season. Um seniors that you didn't want
to see um not be able to play basketball. But our girls went out and battled. if you weren't there on Friday. They went out and battled Evansville Christian and it was a game. It was I was standing up in the corner. People were laughing at me because I was so nervous. But uh Coach Powers and and her girls have everything to to be proud of the way that they finished the season. Um and then a shout out to our women memorial middle school girls basketball team. They played blue chip. Uh they beat Lagod by nine points on Tuesday and then beat North Knox by nine points on Saturday morning and they came out ready to beat Dub Boys and started with a 21 nothing lead and ended the game 42 to 19. So uh it
was their third blue chip championship in a row. They had an 18 and one record this season. They lost to North Co early in the season and u that's an extraordinary group of of young ladies. They're extraordinary girls and ball players. So, it was exciting to see and I'm looking forward to high school basketball the next four years. >> Thank you, ladies. Great job. Alison's I hear she's selling Girl Scout cookies. >> Yes. If anyone's eating Girl Scout cookies, I am selling those. They're delicious. $6 a box. Um but we um cafeteria everything's going good. We finished the month off actually um still making a profit even though we had was out for a week with the snow. Luckily, we were able to cancel all of our orders and that did not very badly. Um,
you notice our nice little trailer in the back of our freezer down, but they are working on getting it fixed. But, uh, we were able to save all the food in the freezer, so that was good because the first company I was trying to get was not seeing a sense of urgency, but then I found a company and they got us one the next day. So, um, but nothing all that exciting happened in January as far as food wise, but we have a lot of new menu options coming up. Um, Super Bowl kind of menu last Friday and the kids love it. It was like buffalo chicken nachos. So, everything's going great. Um, cafeteria rules. >> Thank you, ladies. Danny, >> anything. >> School board members. I need a motion to adjourn. Make a motion
to motion. Say I. Thanks everyone. >> [laughter] >> It's easier when you [laughter]
