and justice for all. All right. Got any patron concerns this evening? Questions or comments on the motion to approve motion. Motion second. >> Second. >> All those favor say I. >> You also have a chance to look over the treasur report. Any questions or comments? I need a motion to approve. >> Make a motion to approve. >> A motion. Second. >> Second. >> Say I. >> Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Next up this evening in o business uh we are finalizing or approving the last four sections of the deal of policies. Uh we had our first reading uh last month and this is our second reading as well as our official approval of those. There are 5,000 students, 6,000 finances, 7,000 property and 8,000 operations. Um so I need a motion to approve those no

policy sections. [snorts] >> I'll make a motion to approve. I have a motion. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> All in favor signify by saying I. >> Oppose the same. That car is 40 over. Next up this evening in new business. Um we have met all of our statutory requirements and we have come to a tentative agreement with the East Gibson Classroom Teachers Association for the 2526 collective bargaining agreement. Um it is a one-year contract. Um we are increasing beginning salary from 42,000 to 45,000 to meet state statute. Um teachers who complete 120 days during the 2425 school year and return to East Gibson this year will receive a $1,000 stipen. Teachers who have a master's degree will get a $500, excuse me, $500 added to the base. Um last

year this was uh done through a AP dual credit stipen so they cannot get both. Um all teachers were round to the next level on a new salary schedule and then also according to state statute we were required to have in addition to the base for the literacy endorsement. We agreed to $200 for that. Um, there was a $500 stipen for an English language learner, teacher of record, and then also we had an ECA stipen for strength and conditioning coach as well as a assistant coach. Um, like I said, we met we had to post the contract for um 72 hours on our Facebook page or excuse me, on our web page prior to the public hearing and then after the public hearing, we had to wait 72 hours prior to you actually ratifying the

contract. Um, so I need a motion this evening to ratify the 2526 collective bargaining agreement with the East Gibson Classroom Teachers Association. >> Can I clear something? >> Sure. Go ahead. >> I think uh you said the $1,000 or the 120 days completed if they're returned to us. I believe you said that was $1,000. >> Oh, my fault. That's $1,000 to their base salary. Yeah. Thank you. >> Need a motion. I'll make motion. >> Okay, I got a motion. Do I have a second? >> I'll second. >> Okay, any further discussion? >> Okay, all those in favor signify by saying I. >> I oppose the same. Okay, that carries 40. Next up this evening, you have the recommendation for salary for our administrators and non-certified employees. Um we are recommending the recommendation is in line

with what we gave our teachers. Uh we are doing a 75 cent um per hour increase for our non-certified employees. We got that salary schedule there for that. Um, and um, you know, I think as the board has wanted to do, this is keeping us continuing to try to move to be more competitive with corporations around us to make sure that we're getting good quality employees for these positions as well. So, I need a motion to approve the salary recommendations for administrators and non-certified employees. >> Motion. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Do I have any discussion? >> Could I Are you retroing? >> Yes. >> Retro to seven top one. >> Seven. Yes. Well, I think that the administrators would be >> That's a loaded question, Ginger. You know that. >> We

know that. [laughter] >> I know it goes back to the start of their contract for this year, >> current contract. Yes. >> So, administrators would be 71, >> right? But I think your classified staff would be a different start date. Is that correct? >> Well, some Central office staff is 71, >> right? Correct. >> Clint, Steve, Rhoden are 71. Everyone else is going to be later. They're like a teacher contract. >> So, we just need we need clarification in the minutes. What you want? >> So, it would be retroactive to the start of their contract for 2526. >> Would that answer that question? >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Do I have a motion? I got a motion to second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I >> oppos the

same. That carries. >> We did not. The only thing we added was the strength and conditioning coach and assistant coach. >> I think you guys did something quite a bit a couple years ago. still behind. >> So, does that have to be done? >> So, I'll put that on my list for next year's >> got to pay them coaches if you want. >> Okay. Next up this evening, we have a proposal from Alpha Energy Solutions. Um, you know, as Steve and I have come in, we've had conversations with our contractors to say what in school could, you know, needed to be fixed that could possibly shut us down. This is one of those items. Um, they have, I think one pump is currently out and the other pump is running. Um, and I know that

Alpha has been they no longer make parts for these two pumps. And so, finally, I just said to Alpha, just give me a price for a brand new pump. And so, um, it is 31,637. Um, this will come from the operations fund. They're going to do this during the Christmas break and if they can get the parts in, but they will charge us in the new budget year in in the 26 budget year. So, um so anyway, this is um once again it's 31637. It'll be coming out of operations fund. This is part of our operations funds updates for next year. So, I need a motion to accept this. >> This does all our circulating. So if it goes down like our guess air conditioning and heat would all go down for the building. So

>> just for the one pumping >> they're just they're just replacing one because the other one would that's currently running would mainly be our backup. >> You want replace both of them Roger $62,000. >> Yeah. >> No, I don't want to spend that much money. Let's just go with 31. >> I have a motion. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> I have a motion and second. Any further discussion? >> Okay. All those in favor signify by saying I. >> And opposed by the same that cares. Okay. This evening in personnel recommendations. Uh we have Tamara Bainy resation as Memorial Primary School special education resource teacher. Sydney Kier resignation as Wood Memorial High School volleyball coach. Um and Amanda Mason is Wood Memorial Union School volunteer fifth grade girls basketball coach. Gavin Dukes Wood

Memorial High School baseball coach and Timothy Rivas Wood Memorial High School assistant baseball coach. So those are our personnel recommendations. I need a motion to accept those. >> Gavin boots a volunteer for baseball. Middle school. >> It's middle school. >> Oh, my middle school. >> Middle school baseball coach. >> Middle school baseball. >> Yes. Is that right, [snorts] >> do we have as far as We have assistance. >> Sorry, I was >> Do we have assistance >> for the middle school baseball? Do we have any assistance >> uh paint positions or >> Yes. >> I don't think so. I know [snorts] sometimes I don't know if it happens here. >> Okay, with that correction, do I have a motion? >> Second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I >> oppose the

same. >> Okay. Um this evening in reports um we are required um as part of my report we are required to enter into our minutes the um teacher compensation notice from the department of education. This is uh came out the state law that 62% of our state tuition support is to be spent on teacher compensation each fiscal year. Um and this um the information is collected from the form 9 that Ginger submits on an annual basis. Um and we are currently at 59.25%. Um so just we have to notify the board of this. This has to then be posted on our web page um as well to notify the community. I think that we've taken some steps to try to continue to increase our compensation and this includes um I think our benefits package as

well. So it's not just salary. It used to be just salary. Um but we're continuing to come up on that. The other thing too that we noticed in looking back at the report is we need to make including um what we're spending on South Gibson for our special education services. So that's something else that we're going to try to get into this report moving forward. Um the other thing I will also say as well is is that I think looking through our staff, we have about four to five staff members that we pay through grants. Um and um because um you know and so those kind Well, my fault because they're in grants, we can still count them because they're the right object code, aren't they? So, >> um, but anyway, so we're continuing to

address this. We're continuing to move forward. This percentage of 62% is going to increase this year to 65%. The law increased it. So, just be aware of that as we kind of continue to go through. But, you know, as I've talked to Orion as well as um even some of you, we can't be in a position of where we increase our salary so much that we go into the red. we have to be, you know, fiscally responsible with what we have. And um so we're going to continue to try to address this and try to to meet that that quota. Um I will tell you that in some conversations this past year with um superintendents across the state that aren't meeting this threshold, we discussed, well, which one's more important? Was it more important to

get to the 62% or was it more important to get to the beginning salary of 45,000? And we felt like the 45,000 was more important. So, um, so anyway, I just wanted to make the board aware of that, um, that that that had to be put into our minutes will be posted on our website. >> What kinds of repercussions from the state are there? If we don't meet those, >> we've really not been aware of anything. I think it's just kind of a you get the letter, you have to notify your community in the board meeting and it's posted on the web. So, Jinger and I were talking a little bit about that today. To our We've not heard of any repercussions across the state of people that have not met. >> Okay. >> Um

so anyway, u just you know really quickly on my report this you know as we've talked a little bit I've been working on a executive summary for facility review and plans. Um the principles and I have been looking through some visitor management systems. Um we've also been working on our internet Wayne did we completed those with ADTE and we'll be bringing the uh final winner to you once everything is kind of tied up with that ZO which is who we were actually using ENA got bought out by Zio and or Zo how you pronounce it but Mr. Hurl was happy about that he says the ENA and Zo are good they're good they they handle our our internet very well um and I participated in a Zoom meeting with superintendents and principles across the state

on Friday about the new Indiana accountability model. Um we are currently being measured on that right now and that has not been approved yet. Um so we we we sort of know what we're being um tested on I guess. Um but u that won't be approved until the December state board meeting and we will get a letter grade um as a corporation as a school. Each of our schools at the end of this year, early next year. So, just be aware of that. Um, the STEM integration grant, um, we received the STEM integration grant in the amount of $15,800 from the state. This will be used for mathematics professional development for our KA teachers, our professional development days. Um, so you're excited about that. Um, you probably remember the teacher appreciation grant that we gave

for the past pretty well several years. It was around $3 to $400. Usually came about this time of the year in December or so. And if you got a highly highly effective or effective, usually our teachers would get that. Well, they rewrote that law this year. And they wanted um teachers to get a larger sum of money. And so, um we were originally told that 25% of our teaching staff would receive that grant, which would have been about 15 teachers. Uh we received our allocation last week and the allocation was 25,25126 and statute actually labels or identifies what the um amounts will be for each of the three tiers and even at the lowest tier of $3500 only seven of our a little bit over seven of our teachers would get the tag rate and

so um we are working with Orion um Honestly, the interesting thing is is that when you talk to the state people, they say it probably shouldn't be called teacher appreciation grant anymore. So, um because we have a lot of teachers that are doing good a good job, not just seven teachers. Um but we are creating an application for teachers to apply for the grant um and they'll submit um documentation to us and then um we'll if they met the documentation then um and if we go over the seven we'll make a determination how to may just put put them in a hat and draw out the first seven gets it. Um that's what several corporations are doing across the state. If we see that there are some um outstanding applications, we may definitely make sure

that those receive the money. So um we're supposed to submit our list the end of January and then those will be paid out. Um but we'll actually get the money from the state April the 15th which I kind of found ironic as well that we were going to get it on tax day. We have our next professional development day coming up on Wednesday. Third through 8th will be working on curriculum planning with mathematics. High school will be talking about the new diploma requirements and how to redesign the high school. And then our K through2 is going to be doing some work with their upgrade grants. So we have Thanksgiving break coming up 26th through 28th and we're back for 15 days and then we're off to Christmas break. That's all I have. Ladies, >> let's

have it. >> We just completed our first island checkpoint. We just hosted Holly Redbon that we participated in and one of those days it was during the during Halloween. So we had our Halloween invited community to come and walk. So we had great turnout for the community and we just wrapped up ACORN. through the first semester and we had a white so our students are really taking advantage of that. And then just last Friday we had PTO bingo night. It was a huge success. Pretty intense. Everybody was pretty serious but um we made quite a bit quite a bit of money. So it was a great event. >> My sister said it was ladies night out but I seen there was a couple guys. I love It was fun. Some of those ladies took a

very >> I can remember my grandma dominating them. >> Um so this just happened today. I think we officially have a waiting list for our children's program. Um I think with the closure of Mazd and parent teacher conferences um I've heard very good things about those from the teachers and parents. Um we thought it went very well very smoothly. a lot of parents turned out for that as well. So getting ready for our literacy night and we'll be hosting and that's with the intermediate school as well and so fair and that evening we had new furniture and stuff. We're working on that. >> A room. >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> And furniture. >> And and could we get more than possibly two or >> two >> for new students? >> We get two more than

just two more. >> Um that I don't know. Um, we do have a couple in that number like a staff member and he goes >> Yeah. How many of them are are in the room full time >> and how many of them are part-time? >> I think maybe about half. I don't have exact numbers on me, but I think it's think it's about half. Um, we have a lot of kids that are part for half of the day. >> Okay. >> Um, and really a whole day is a long day for those games. Um, so for the kids that are there all day long, six or seven maybe. >> Okay. >> I guess what I'm getting at is >> are there a teacher and an >> Are there 20 kids in that room at one

time? >> No. >> Okay. So, we could possibly these students that are on the waiting list if they're part We could >> make it work for this year. >> Yes. >> You have to have a 10 to1 ratio, >> right? >> So 20 is our limit. >> Yeah. >> And this is, you know, this is this is new because it's just happened within the last few days. So I think it's >> we're going to have to sit down and like look at who's here when >> and you know start from start there and then see where we're at. >> This is a good thing. >> It is a good thing. certainly not feasible, >> right? And I think the thing to think about, I mean, this isn't a year problem necessarily, but you know, what

do we do when those kids have gone through the program and now they're four year olds and we have new year old? Do we, you know, half day? It's just, you know, it's just This is wonderful. Our wonderful good things and some of them were very excited because they >> Yeah. So we wrapped up all sports since our last we had volleyball sectional. Girls played in the championship game. Lost to Spring Valley, but Spring Valley went on to semi state. So not not a bad show in there to end volleyball season. Um we did something new this year, the Trojan tip off, our girls and boys basketball teams. Um set set this all up and we had fans come. They had all the way from middle school up through our varsity program. So that was

a fun evening and lots of people brought donations for the Gibson County Animal Services. It was there was a ton. It was wonderful. Uh we had our lip sync. Uh we've had JAG field trip. I can't speak enough about how wonderful our JAG program is. Um Caroli is doing an amazing job. She and I had a conversation last week about uh what an amazing job she's doing with our students to uh help them experience things, see what lies ahead for them. Our eighth graders went to a job. We had a seventh grade field trip for science sensations to Gibson County Fairgrounds. Um, our sophomores went to SikTick to see what programs were available to them at Sick Tick and uh, our multicategorical classroom went to the pumpkin patch. We've had lots of going out and

seeing what there is outside of Wood Memorial walls. We did have parent teacher conferences. I was really shooting. Mr. asked me what's your goal um for participation and there's just a natural trend where parents don't necessarily participate as much for middle school and high school um but we did have 50% participation which I was happy with thrilled with I will say our sixth grade classes it was 80% participation in all all of our home rooms for sixth grade and kudos to Mr. Bunch he had 94 part 94% participation so shout out to Well, I will tell you, I know he told kids, "Take your cell phone out, and call your mom right now and have to meet with her." So, uh, so he he really was shooting for 100%, but 94% is not too bad.

So, um, I was happy with that because, you know, I the goal was just to open the the lines of communication about attendance, academics, behavior, um, and kind of get them to see where their kiddos are at and, you know, on the right track. I will With Wednesday's professional development day, um I am going over with my high school staff all of the things that uh we have to do with the new high school redesign and workbased learning and uh with the accountab the proposed accountability model. Um there's a lot of things on the horizon. So um if you have free time Wednesday morning and want to come see it for yourself, feel free to come on in and join us. But um there's a lot of lot of work to be done. All right.

Thank you, ladies. >> Alison, >> um everything in the cafeteria is going good. We anticipated had table set up at the Halloween walk at both of the schools. Um we have a student survey going that was going on last week and some parents um which have a result of that just to kind of see what we can improve. Um county health department to visit both of our campuses. No violations. He loves us. Um, bills are looking good. I did the invoice today. That was looking good. So, I think so far if everything goes the way it's going down, we'll have a very successful comfortable year. >> Thank you. Have some Christmas cookies. >> One day I'll remember >> Jinger. How about your crew? >> I think they're doing phenomenal. They're ready. >> You are too,

aren't you? >> I'm ready. >> I'm 20ome. I don't know. Not many. >> It's quick. >> She's done. She's done a great job training Christina. I think it's it's it's been a very good transition. >> We'll see. [laughter] >> Members, questions or comments? If not, I need a motion to adjourn. >> I just want to thank the uh basketball coaches for setting up that charge and tip off. That was [snorts] that was a really good time. I don't know if the kids enjoyed it, but as a patron, I enjoyed it. I especially like the questions. Yes, they were teachers contracts nice and easy and smooth. Appreciate it. >> I did forget tomorrow is our veterans day program 9 o' tomorrow morning >> in the big gym. >> It is in the big gym. The both

the intermediate school and primary school are coming. It's all EGSC and Uh, we've invited all of our veterans, so hopefully we have lots to honor tomorrow. >> One of my favorite of the whole year. >> Motion to make a motion. Motion second. I'll second. >> All those in favor say I. I can show you.
