005wanted every any type of meals throughout the day well I'm glad I'm glad you enjoyed your trip welld deserved uh as you know uh the summer has come to an end and uh we have been working diligently all summer to prepare our 15 buildings for the start of the school year I need to thank all of our staff that have been involved in our summer programs and you will notice that some of our buildings there have been tremendous Transformations that have taken place uh I'd like to thank our director of facilities and operations uh Mr Ronald brois and his team please give them a round of [Applause] applause for doing an absolutely fantastic job in maintaining and um making the necessary repairs to infrastructures if you haven't seen wers Junior High School I walked through

006it today and it looks beautiful I drove through it it look I walked through it looks it looks beautiful and again um I am proud of the advancements that we have made uh that's due to the community supporting and continuing to support our capital projects that's due to a very very supportive Board of Education that's due to a tremendous staff that works very very diligently we want our students to know that we care about them we care about where they learn we care about where they spend the majority of their time we will continue to make those um improvements where we're able and again I want to thank all involved looking forward to a great start of the school year thank you I too want to thank that Mr Bros he does an excellent job

009or we have to pay individually 1:30 since virtual we're going to pay once just 130 okay all right all motion second all those in favor unanimous 6.02 adoption of the rise board meeting CER whereas the board meeting location at Waters Junior High School is currently undergoing Renovations and whereas the board meetings will need to be moved to an alternate location during the months of October November and December 2023 now therefore be it resolved that the Board of Education of the wer Central School District does hereby adopt the revised 2023 2024 Board of Education meeting calendar as amended motion Marie second Peggy all those in favor unanimous 6.03 adoption of the districtwide safety plan and building levels school safety plan 10 minutes moot resolved that the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the district Safety

011culture wars um both the new New York civil liberties Union and the New York State Department of Education have issued guidance this summer for schools and districts to protect the rights of all students to be free from harassment and pursue Learning Without constraint um specifically the Office of the Attorney General got together with the Board of Regents and wrote in early August to inform local education agencies which I think is you guys um of their quote obligation to place dignity inclusion and respect at the center of their educational decisions and that that would lead to good policymaking we do that here in lers and I just wanted to voice our support within the community for everything that you're doing in that um along those lines the um New York civil liberties Union recommends that districts

012be ready when a book or a curricular topic is challenged and they offer a model policy that includes a timeline and ways to identify key respondents and develop a responsive process and I know that you guys all work really hard you've dealt with this before and you are charged with making these decisions and handling these matters when they come up I hope there will not be a need to respond to challenges this year but please know that whatever this year brings your community is proud of the job that you're doing to ensure that our district schools are welcoming and an inclusive learning environment and I know that you'll continue this important work and I want to thank you again thank you take care wow does anyone to make any additions make a motion to a
