How are you doing? >> Good evening everybody. Is that okay if I just do it this way? Okay. Good evening everybody. Thank you for coming tonight. Um, want to congratulate the community and thank the community for the support with the budget vote that we just recently had. Uh, if you haven't seen it, we passed the budget by 65% um, votes, which is an outstanding thing considering it wasn't an easy thing. I also want to thank publicly the board of education. They're not paid. They have to work very hard and these these questions are not easy. many hours were spent by all the members here and I I think that that duly has to be publicly recognized. On the other front, um we were able to have a administration meeting yesterday. We had my successor Dr.

Cobb Fle was with us. We got to work interact with our board. I mean, excuse me, not the board, the administration team. Um it was a very productive session to be able to get orientated and what have you. In the next couple of weeks, what they're doing is sharing information. Um, I'll be talking to the board a bit more. He wants to get some dates with you guys to do an orientation for the summer. Um, we're getting some dates with the administration team to do the same thing so that they can all begin work together what we have to do next. Um, there are lots of things coming your way. This is, you know, we've we've finished, we've got athletics coming to crazy hall. It's baseball team one. So they move on. Uh I don't

know the result of the softball team. Anybody know? >> They did not win. >> Okay. But they made an intersectional play and played. So congratulations to them for that. Modified is is out there if you want to go out and and see them right now. Um track team had Batrun Conference uh last night. I was here to the bitter end. Um I'll be back on Tuesday for sectionals. We're hosting sectionals. So please come out and support. Buy a hot dog or something, you know, keep the keep everybody happy. Um, it's a great event. Um, if you especially if you like track and field, uh, it's a great venue to see everything. We have everything from upcoming concerts, uh, NISPA ratings for music, uh, music people. Um, we have art shows, uh, plant sales. Um, I'm

sure I'm missing a couple of other things, but that's all going on right now. The spring is a very, very busy time. It's hard to believe that we have just one more full week left of uh well half a week left in May and we're right into June. And with June comes scheduling, finals, exams, and everything else. Uh final exam schedules are have been finalized in terms of going out um for the board's edification and everybody here. final exams. Um, some of the courses have final exams associated with them or what we call local exams. We can't use regions exams as part of the overall average. They're actually not scored as percentage scores. They look like that, but that is actually a um scaled score that's used for that. So, some finalist exams, the final

exam period time for high school, Amanda probably will help me out with this a little bit later, right? June June 9th. And that'll go through the end of the school year, right? Basically, uh last day of regular classes for the high school will be ninth and and tenth. Um Mike will talk a little bit more about middle school in terms of that. Uh seventh and eighth grade will be finishing up a little bit earlier than everybody. I'm sure they'll hate that. Hate that that they have to finish up earlier. People go, "Well, why is that?" I said, "Because we use the same staff for 712." 712 staff is what's used for proctoring exams. So the more people we have for that, the better we can make sure all that goes on. Um what else? Uh

we have a lot of work to do as I had mentioned in previous meetings. We're already starting to look at what the uh strategic plan will be for the board of education and the school. Moving on as I hand off the baton to Dr. Cob Flesh and we're talking about next year's budget already. um we gave ourselves 24 hours to sort of rest before we get into the next cycle of things. But in order to make sure that we do a good job with it, we have to continue on with that. I'll be happy to entertain any questions from the board. >> Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Thank you everybody. And we have a couple people here if you'd like to share with us from Amanda and Michael. >> All right. Good evening.

Good news. I'm back. So happy to see everyone. Thank you so much. It's been a really warm welcome from students and from staff. I want to just give a really big shout out. when I was um on leave, my colleagues really stepped up and supported and worked hard on uh regions planning and scheduling and it I came back and things were done that I did not expect and so I that just shows our collaboration and shows like our passion for our students and for our school. So that's a really wonderful thing uh to feel. Um just some business, our reviews are almost done. So counselors have been working hard on that. You know that that's been a priority. We are I met with them today. We already are planning for next year already. Kind of

trying to get ahead of that, making an agenda so we can avoid any, you know, uh, lateness, try to get things done earlier. So, I feel really good about that. Um, we're working collaboratively running our schedule for next year like as a team. So, that's really nice. Um, something new that I didn't experience before, Dr. Sweeney, is just the collaboration of 7 through 12. So, that's something that we're really focusing on. Mr. Elliot and I are really working together as a cohesive unit. As enrollment has been decreasing and we have our teachers in 7 through 12, it's important that we work as a team. So, we are working on that as well, which is very positive. Um, our region schedule is done. Uh, proctor training is set up. We're ready for that. We're getting our

maintenance requests in. So, we're like rolling here as a team. So, we'll be ready for next year. Um, I'm surprised Tristan didn't mention senior prank today. If you're wondering why I have this on, we had a dance party. Um, seniors set up in the cafeteria. >> How'd you do a dance party with your >> Okay, gotcha. All right. Just Just wondering. Just wondering. >> So, seniors had a dance party uh at the beginning with all of the other uh students and then through the lunch periods as well. Balloons were there. No one was really hitting the balloons until I got up and started hitting them. So, we got a little more like morning momentum going. That was good. So, it was a lot of fun. It was an innocent prank. um really loved that. And

other than that, I agree scholarship night was very well planned and very well attended and we're looking to continue that next year. And um many banquetss and celebrations going on right now. So we sent out a calendar and we'll continue to send out more dates. Questions? >> Thank you. >> Uh I'll make it very short. Uh today we had a quick 15minute student assembly. I've never heard such applause in my life. When I announced that New York State testing season is over, the kids went crazy. They did an amazing job this year. They worked really hard, including on all the diagnostics. So today was our last math diagnostic. Um they worked for some of them three hours on it. Uh I had an eighth grade student come up to me and say, "Mr. Elliot, Mr.

Elliot, I was locked in today." And uh I said, "Really?" And he's like, "I got 578." So I looked him up. Sure enough, he did. He was very proud of himself. And um a number of kids could actually talk about how they're performing in both math and ELA. And I think that that's the key is that they know where they're at. So that's good news. To celebrate, I promised them two months ago and we are following through next Friday with a field day. Um I challenged them all to dunk me in the dunk tank. So, we're going to have a dunk tank. We're going to have some sporting activities. We're going to have yard games in the gym. Um, Kona Ice will be here. So, we're going to celebrate and have some fun time for

all their hard work. Um, and then another thing that I think it's important to know, we are still a school um that is targeted improvement, a school for targeted improvement. Uh, based on last year's test results, we last year I didn't make any changes when I came. So everything was status quo. This year we put changes in place. So the hope is this year's testing season will show some improvement. I think it will. Um but as such we are required to do a set meeting that is scheduled for June 2nd. I've determined it's in our best interest to roll over our SE plan. Um and we will be getting grant money for that. Um that we will be using for MTSS. Um, and so I won't know until late summer, early fall when the test

results come out if we did make improvement, but I do look forward to sharing that with you. And then lastly, uh, middle school, the last day of school is June 16th this year. Um, on the 15th and 16th, we do have final exams, which we've resurrected. We haven't given them uh in a while. Um, and students are preparing for that with their teachers. And on the 16th in the afternoon at two o'clock is our moving up ceremony and I want to extend all of you an invitation to come and attend. It was very nice last year uh Mr. Donahghue did our guest speech. I've asked someone else who currently is a guest but won't be after July 1st to do our uh speech and have some time in front of the community. Um and he

accepted. So Dr. Calles will um also be attending. Um so please come. Any questions?
