00126 school board of trustees calling the meeting to order with some new business approval request for consideration of Menali roof bid. Mr. G. >> Yeah. So um this was actually the second time that we bid out the the roofing project. Uh the first time we didn't have any bids so we bid it out. engaged uh with the vendors, invited some additional vendors to partake and made them comfortable with the process. In total, uh we ended up with four four bids for four different companies. um roof links BNL sheet metal and roofing who is actually going to perform work on your meta roof that you approve TDJ and Teragon and bid I am recommending uh today that had the lowest base bid because the bids range from well I'll tell you who had the lowest bid

002um was roof links at1291,241 Um the largest bid that came back was 4,591,225 um primary uh kind of difference and I think with given the complexity of dealing with the domes studying that rippling spent a lot of time out here studying that I mentioned before they did the work at West Ben's They have experience with it. Um they've studied it a lot. We've met with them and talked to them and actually they had what I think are some creative uh creative ideas and solutions. Um ultimately that helps because if you look at number of days from start to finish you know granted that's dependent upon weather and things going as they should 70 days whereas you look at the three others and you 75, 250 or 305. So that's obviously a lot of the difference

003in the cost, right? Um >> it's a lot of labor. >> Yep. A lot of labor. Um but the same materials. Um so on the first page that I gave you kind of was the cover sheet. I also kind of gave on the back packet was a study. We met with them and we looked at some of the moisture areas. We certainly that's always a concern when you're replacing a roof that's old. So we are some areas that will have to be cut out and patched back before he goes over the top. Um but what we are re recommending we accept um the base bid which was that 1 million 291,241. We're choosing to reject alternate number one which is a standing seal system on only um we are obviously accepting alternate two there's no

004additional cost that's included in the base bid. Um alternate number three there was no bid reject that alternate number four that comes down just potentially a 10,000 deduct based on the tbo material system we're using. decide on that one. That might be something we we take. Um that's just a difference in material versus what we spec versus additional option they provided to us. Um so potentially $10,000 savings off that 1.2 number. Um voluntary alternative number one. Um we're choosing to accept that and that's a deduct of $430,678. Again studying that just looking at overall process of how those dome are constructed. Leave the cover overlay over the top of that. Once they put down the board cover nice good finished look and any of the blisters in the real old material or the texture on

005that won't show through because of that. Certainly I did point out to you that we expect to be cut out in all time 70 days estimating you know the overall cost $860,560 feel comfortable and confident moving forward with that I would like to be able them to go order their materials or metal um begin working um kind of on the sequencing or phasing plan on that so we can kind of plan that around activities and events at you know at the high school um and obviously get that wrapped up before hopefully before everybody comes back in the fall provided everything goes goes well we will continue to work with Kramer companies as our owner rep they provide a high level engineering and technical construction background just having another set of eyes working >> and for

006transparency purposes and whatnot. I mean we we started this and Parker all that area we're noticing some some issues out there with >> with the money that we put in the Mali and the domes areas >> we're trying to conserve make sure that we're not damaging any Yeah, matter of fact, you know, we've already we already passed did some repairs to the drywall in the pool leak came in and that area collapsed again. So, we really want to keep the elements out protecter and just that whole area moisture does not do good things like our investment obviously we'll pay for this. Is there a warranty tied to it or how long they >> Yes, it's I believe it's 20 year warranty >> similar alongside >> that's good. >> Y >> and then is there going

007to be a staging area like where they put all their stuff? I know there's still activities going on the summer. >> We'll work with them on on staging area. It might look a little bit different for that. Um they might stage some of the materials on top of the building itself on the roof. They'll have to and stuff like that. But we'll make sure there'll be, you know, safe a safety barrier and all that separate contract for kids or athletes. We don't want we got we still have to go on. The nice thing is we have that service lane back. >> Yeah. >> And I mean, you may have already brought it up. I may have missed it. If we decide on this today, when you I would start. >> Yeah. Um so I'd give

008them the notice proceed tomorrow morning and then we'll have a just like with we actually have another meeting with the contractor once we award it. We talk about those things the staging area we talk about kind of estimated time uh to begin certainly they have to procure the materials first. Um, so I don't anticipate starting obviously until school's out, graduation's done. Um, but they'll be able to start to kind of work on a schedule for us. >> Nice. And you have color. >> Yeah, we're going to go we're going to go with the gray, the light gray that was spec. We're going to power wash those nice panels that are on kind of on the peak to cover the penthouse. So get some of that algae algae growth off of it. And then we have

009several different we'll end up using somewhere colors of metal. areas require black white the top top gray and then the area where kind of have the vestibial on the east side this color so that kind of >> so >> yeah make it nice and fresh last for another Does anyone else have any questions, comments? >> Okay. Hearing no more. Can I get a motion? >> Motion. >> Second. >> Have a motion in a second. Is there any further discussion? Hearing none. All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? That motion will carry. Okay. Do we have any further comments from the board or superintendent? >> Thanks Jeff for uh going through this a couple times. I think it's probably the third time we've had to get bids on this thing and do it. But

010>> glad they're kind of working it out and uh for uh getting a couple roofs for a good price. >> Yeah. Good job. >> Appreciate the work there. >> Thank you. But thanks for protecting what we have as well. >> I really see kind of have the gem of of the county. as far as I'm concerned with with our facilities. So, we got Thanks for working hard for that. >> Okay. Anyone else have anything else? Okay. I like it. Hearing nothing else. Can I get a motion to adjurnn? >> Motion. >> Second motion and a second. Do we have any discussion? >> Hearing none. All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Me. Thanks everyone. You going to South? show a few colorations
