My favorite part. >> Come on up here so everybody can see you. >> There you go. Got it on you. >> To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Good job. >> Thank you. >> All right. Welcome everyone. Call the meeting to order for our November meeting of the Greencastle School Board. Glad to see everybody here this evening. Okay. Very good. All right. Uh we'll move on to adjustments to the agenda. There are no adjustments to the agenda this morning. >> I like it. All right. Moving on to recognitions. Mr. Gib, >> we have some other uh guests with us today. We had the principal conference going on. Assistant principal We have some counselors
and some assistant principles. So we will get started with Rick. We even also have some teachers. So Mrs. First of all, I just want everybody to know that this part of the meeting is so important. I just wanted to say that for today because she is shown. She consistently demonstrates kindness and a positive attitude in class. She listens to others. She shares materials. She works well and I'm so proud of her leadership and modelers. Her brother Then we have the backdrop. If you go down the hall, we have the backdrop set up in the main entrance that get pictures in front of the green castle backdrop. >> Mrs. Gor We have Mr. class for all those classroom in the hallways that he is a role student who loves to jump Way to go. Good evening.
This is Logan Steven for Logan was a perfect candidate from our class of cooperation. He does everything as of all of his classes. He follows all of the school rules and others with good choices. He works great with others in our class, other classes. He works really well with third and fourth grade is a perfect example of cooperation. Congratulations exemplify discussions and consistent support. This is what makes perfect choice. So, the Green Castle High School student of the month was senior. Unfortunately, Logan couldn't be here tonight. He's at work, but his wrote about Logan that he kind of questions in class. always willing to help his classmates and has enjoyed the class regardless of what is ready to jump in and get done. That is so appreciated. >> Well done everyone. Thank you. Okay, moving
on to public comments. >> Tucker, >> does he have something to say? >> Come forward, sir. Now, you had all that to say before the meeting and now you're going to check it out. Okay, I got you now. Looks like since Tucker's going to check it out, we have nobody for public comments. Moving on to the approval of the consent agenda, which includes the meeting minutes of the regular board minutes October 27th, 2025. Special meeting minutes of October 31st, 2025. Allowance of claims, financial report, personnel reports part one and two, and they are posted. Mrs. Romer, >> yes. Hello. Hello. >> As usual, we've got some payrolls to start out our finance packet. We had two regular payrolls in the month of October. One was dated the 10th. Total payroll for 734319. And as usual,
you know, we've got those those taxes and we've got some retirement that we pay out um each month on payrolls. Total on that October 10th payroll was 13473931. That second regular payroll in October was dated the 24th for a total payroll of 53 5366. Payroll taxes and retirement 128 140 36. Um just going to buzz through some prepays here. You got Did you get a chance to take a look at those? Did anyone have any questions about anything particular? >> No. Okay. If we go to the last page of that packet for the prepays for October 2025, I almost said 24 was 41965958. And then next in our packet, we've got a list of claims that are dated today. November 24th. And again, um uh did you get a take did you take a chance
to look at um the list? Um were there anything um was there anything on there? I'm for some reason I can't talk. I'm not really sure why. I'm a little tired today, I think. Anyway, as you took a look at the list, did anyone have any questions about anything? Okay. Um, those list of claims dated today, November 24th, 506, $309. And then if you're ready, we'll go ahead and go through the finance report, the fund report. Uh, balance in education fund. You'll see there on the right hand side under current balance, and that was the balance on 1031 2025. If we go down three more lines to operations, you'll see that fund um report 300 and you'll see on that current balance on the right hand column the balance there for operations. And then if
we go to the very last page, you're going to see the balance in all funds. And you'll see that total balance is uh at the end of October uh 2025 is 9,46387430. And then next to your package, you're going to see that bank to um fund. That's our depository balance. Needs to balance with all of our funds. That's exactly what we want to do every month. And you'll see in that far right column where it says current balance. If you go to the middle where it says grand total of funds and grand total of banks, those two numbers match. That's a good thing. That means our funds are balanced with all of our banks. Next in your package, you're going to see a fund transfer report. And as usual, uh you do me authorization. If
I do need to transfer some funds from one bank to another to pay some bills, I can do that. And then we also have that school lunch um 8400 to 800 transfer that we do each month. And then of course we have the education to ops that um the transfer that we do every month. Did anyone have any questions about any of those? Okay. Total on those transfers was 73767405. And then lastly, we're just going to buzz through some bond um expenditures. There were no new expenditures for bond 2021. And again, no new expenditures for bond 2022. That will be different next month. You're going to see something listed on there next month. Um again, we're holding um in bond 2022 for retainage um on projects um that we're going to be we're going to
be paying out of bond 2022. So, you're going to start seeing some payments out of there. We're going to get that sp out. um hopefully here in the next few months. And then of course we've got uh geo bond um 724 for 2020 or excuse me bond 724 for bond 2024. Um as you went through there, did anyone have any questions about anything? Okay, we've got our all of our expenditures as of 1031 2025. And then that far right column, you're going to see the balance in that fund as of October 31st, 2025. And pending any questions I'd like to submit for approval. >> Any questions? >> Nope. >> Questions? Can I get a motion to approve? >> Motion. >> A motion. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Have a motion and a
second. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Motion will carry. Thank you, M. >> You're welcome. >> All right, moving on to reports. Looks like we have assistant superintendent, Mrs. Hello. Um, I don't have much. I just want to share some awesome things that have happened in the past month, as well as things coming up. Um, I know you were talking about it before the meeting, but our annual arts and innovation expo occurred just a couple of weeks ago, and this is a student led venture. It highlights artwork from K through 12, student um, work and um, created goods that they're selling as well as vendors from the public. So, it's just a great and uh the students did a fantastic job and I want to commend and
appreciate the teachers who put all that time and effort into supporting our students for this venture and I'm excited to see it grow year to year. Um we had our high school musical Foot Loose happened at the um beginning of this month and it was fabulous. Of course the kids did a great job. Uh the production was wonderful. So I was really excited to see that. Um, and then as for December, as we look ahead, we have our middle school high school band and choir event happening on December 4th and 10th. Our preK through 2 grade has their holiday concerts happening the week of December 15th. So, lots of wonderful holiday things happening and elementary basketball games. So, we'll have a big busy night at all. You have any questions for me? >> Thank you.
Okay, moving on to Mr. Gibbons. >> Yeah, just a couple of brief uh brief things this month. Um I shared with the board and uh shared through parentsburg starting a GCSE spotlight our GCSE staff staff appreciation award and really it's an opportunity for any staff member any community member really anyone in general that would like to to honor a teacher instructional assistant custodian food service worker all the above and uh that went out just under a week ago already passed out 26uh certificates and uh it's just kind of a nice added touch to recognize some of our staff members and just for the public to give thanks to everyone who works extremely hard. So excited to keep that keep that going and share those share those things. >> It's a wonderful idea. >> Um next
thing is uh last week um so we actually have our Thanksgiving meal early so we don't burned out turkey. Um, but uh the district paid for Chartwells to prepare Thanksgiving meal for all of our staff members uh as we have in the past. Just a nice thank you. Many of them were eating the turkey and mashed potatoes and all that stuff alongside the kids. Nice way to give thanks and celebrate a uh a special time. um maintenance shop. Um the old maintenance shop. Really excited. Um Troy and the guys have been busy moving out. I gave them a deadline of the end of this month. There's a lot of stuff in there. Some of the stuff moved up from over Miller school that haven't been touched. There's a lot of stuff sort through, but they'll
be out the end of the month. We're getting cleaned up. I have four brothers that's going to paint it. in December. So that way when the kids come back from Christmas break, the kids have some additional space to do a build out, things of that nature or even just an extension of some additional space lab. So we'll be able to kind of turn that back into another student space addition space for the TCC. So excited about excited about that. Excited for maintenance to both be fully building as well. Um, we're wrapping up some of the some of the work back by the baseball and softball field, some of the drainage, the batting cage project. We'll install the actual metal metal frame in the spring. Um, the net, we still have the sidewalks to be replaced
yet this fall, winter, that's still done. But we actually had tree trimming service It's a veteran tree trimming service and pretty good price and so we're taking down a couple of the really big tall nasty trees back behind the softball back stop that one of them kind of rotted out that needs to come down like now so we're going to be taking that down um grounds has actually been clean up that hillside a lot trim trim that area back really nice it much more improved much easier to find missing softballs the tree will just wait on the ground tear up a lot. So Jeff, you're going to take out the two two big ones. >> So one of them is a bit I think one big maple and soft maple and then yeah big >>
and they're going to take a lot of others down. They're going to take some of those trees out because they're collateral damage just the way they're just going to drop them and clean it up for us. >> Get some sunshine on the fields anyways. >> Help dry out. >> Sp it out, dry it out. It just needs to needs to happen. It's a tough area to access. And it's like, well, if they're going to be back there and it's not going to be cheap, let's get done what needs to get done and then maintain it so we don't have the junk trees grow up and become too big. We can't. So, because there's some of the trees that are kind of in the lights also that's not good. So it'll be uh be much better
and that's really kind of all the updates outside of just wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Okay, moving on to old business. It looks like we have none. Under new business, looks like we have an approval request for compensation adjustments. >> Yep. So, just as we've uh done in the past, once we've settled the collective bargaining agreement, we attempt to give like increases for the rest of our employee groups. And so, as I shared with you in your packets, that's a 2% increase for classified salary employees. Um ad admin and athlet high school athletic record, 2% increase. classified hourly employees 25 cents an hour increase and bus drivers at 2% increase. And so likely think of these uh increases potentially being for the next two years unless we uh you know have the ability
to reopen our bargaining agreement next year when it comes time for negotiation teachers. We'll wait to see how the uh state of economics shakes out this fall before we do that. Think everybody's waiting to see what what's going to happen there. Okay. Do you have any questions on that? >> Can I get a motion? >> Motion. Motion. Do I have a second? >> Motion and a second. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All those in favor. >> Any opposed? That motion will carry. Okay, looks like I have an approval request for an athletic corporation sponsor like Myers Market in the total of $1,000. I get a motion to accept that. >> So moved. >> I'll second. >> Okay, I have a so moved and a second. Any discussion? >> Hearing none. All those in favor? >>
Any opposed? All right, we'll accept that. Thank you very much to Myers. I have an approval request for donations. It looks like J.R. Bowling LLC to Green Castle High School GMS FFA for $1,250 and Jeff and Denise Sigworth to Greencastle High School athletics boys and girls swim teams for $1,170. I get a motion to accept those move. >> Motion. Do I have a second? >> Second. Motion to second. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? We will accept those donations. Motion carried. >> All right. Looks like we have the first reading of some more Neola policies which there's a lot of them there. >> Yep. So, no action being taken this month. Um, you can see while it is a long list, you can see that several of
them are essentially kind of duplicates, but different employee groups for instance >> um the non-discrimination changes um but then the others um are being updated to make sure compant state laws last reading this month bring back >> and I think in order to give you a break said you would be willing to read all these evening >> for Okay. Very good. Do we have any other business? >> Does anyone on the board have any further business they'd like to discuss? >> Well, I would like to bring up that we have um two middle school students, uh Gabrielle Brceno and Elijah Jones. Uh Gabrielle plays Floot and Elijah plays Barry Saxs. And they have both been accepted into the Indiana Junior Allstar >> Wow. >> All state band >> and they will be performing at the
IMEA convention in January. >> So this is very prestigious. It was uh very competitive and so we have two. That's awesome. >> That is very awesome. Very awesome. Well done. >> Anyone else? Okay. Only thing I would like to note is meeting December is on the 15th. So, very good. All right. If we have nothing else further, can I get a motionless? >> Some sort of motion. Can I get a motion to close? >> Motion. >> A motion. Do I have a second? >> I have a motion to second. Anyone want to discuss that? >> Outstanding. All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion will carry. Thank you all. Have a happy Thanksgiving. >> I can jaw jack. >> It's okay. Mrs. Remer spoke to 10 of those minutes.
