Our father, we also thank you for the opportunity for this board to serve our community. We ask your guidance with the wisdom and clarity on the issues that we need to confront as we go forward. Our heavenly father, we also pray for our school system and our leadership of our schools. Uh these things are important. Our teachers and the work that they do Uh we need your guidance. And we need for you to inspire
our staff as they go forward toward the end of this school year. Our heavenly father, I might also add that this is a troubling time in our country right now. And we need your guidance to uh guide us through these tough times that we're having right now. Because we know that all things are possible through thy name. We also pray for our first responders both home and abroad and for their safety also. These things we pray in thy name. Amen. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> [cough] >> Do we have any announcements, Mr. Stringfellow? Yes, ma'am. First of all, Mr. Stringfellow and your staff and of course all of
the people that work so hard, I had an opportunity to go down to the career fair. And it was my understanding that uh prior to the opening we had almost 800 to 1,000 more people than we had the previous year sign up for that. And it looked like it was going pretty well and so I hope it was I think it's a really beneficial thing and um I've heard nothing but high marks and everybody seemed to be excited about it. So I thought it was a really good thing, sir. Any questions? No, ma'am. Mr. Parson. I'd just like to relay to the superintendent when he's not here uh on the teacher of the year celebration, it was a outstanding program and I really enjoyed it. I would have to I would have to second that.
That was that was really nice for the teacher of the year. I think they did an outstanding job putting that together. I had soft tears. She did a really good job on that. Well, I just want to echo what Mr. Stringfellow said in his part there. The uh teacher of the year program was well attended, it was well received and I think all of our teachers and administrators really enjoyed themselves and we afforded them the opportunity to do themselves and enjoy themselves and take advantage of making sure that teachers that's at that school can file file to be teacher of the year. Also, with the meetings that the things that happened on yesterday at the convention center, uh we had some positive feedback about that. And you know, on my social media page everybody had
a lot of positive things to say about it. Uh I like the competitiveness that the schools are doing as far as making sure that their schools are recognized and uh it was it was really really good. Also, I want to compliment uh the guys on the board. Uh we've been working real hard with student hearings and we've been very receptive of our students. We've been making sure that we've given them the opportunity to get a great education here in Mobile County Public School System and we're affording them that opportunity. Uh some of us uh wear our feelings on our sleeves, but we we work through it a lot. We really do. We really work through it and I'm working real hard on it. So again, so far so good. I was wondering why the superintendent
was eyeballing. I'm not sure who he's eyeballing here. >> [laughter] >> It's okay. So we're going to move on. Do you have any announcements, superintendent? Uh no announcements, but I do have some >> [clears throat] >> some changes on the on the agenda. Uh if we could pull action item C28 for further vetting as well as action item C33. Uh for it's a duplicate. So if you'll pull action item C28 and C33. >> [clears throat] >> Okay. Any other announcements, Mr. Parson, with I want to see I see it now. Yeah. That's action item C1. Uh Mr. Superintendent Dr. Brackens, I'm sure you worked with the >> [clears throat] >> Ms. Horton and the staff there about this. I've had a chance to talk with him briefly yesterday. Um we're not completely, but it's kind of a modifying it a little bit. Is that correct? Is that my understanding? No, ma'am, the calendar. Yes, it's not completely opposite, it's just modified to be Yeah.
