hard to achieve her goals and Mr Hansen said Macy is a joy to have in the GMS choir she is respectful of her teachers her fellow classmates and mostly import and importantly herself Macy's a delight to have in class I put that on my email as well and we're thankful for having her as a student at GMS [Applause] finally Mrs good pastor this is Rebecca um she's for the high school and we had several teachers nominated but Mrs Frank said that it's a pleasure to recommend Rebecca hail for the March student of the month Rebecca consistently exemplifies respect in her interaction action with teachers peers and the environment around her making her truly deserving recipient of this award Rebecca approaches every situation with kindness and a positive attitude no matter the circumstances she treats those

public comments is that correct very good moving on to the approval of the consent agenda which consists of the meeting minutes of the regular board meeting of February 24th 2025 the allowance of claims financial report and Personnel part one and two which are posted on the door Mrs rer yes hello U you've got a couple of payrolls in your payroll packet tonight um the first payroll for February was a total was 482,000 uary 14th payroll was 137 75966 as you looked at that payroll did you have any questions about anything no we'll move on to the final payroll for February 2025 it was uh $2,993 and4 and once again we have those taxes and retirement for that payroll it was1 94 we've got a list of prepays um for February 2025 as you look through

that list did anyone have any questions there's nothing unusual on this list but if you have any questions be happy to answer them no okay we'll go ahead and move on to you'll see this is dated February 27th um claims number two we did um you uh gave me authorization to go ahead and do a second AP for February due to my vacation we've got some folks that still need to be paid even if I'm out the building so we we went ahead and did a second AP for February so that's what you'll see here on this list as you went through that list did anyone have any questions about that did not okay we'll move on from that one and then we've got a list of claims that are dated today March 17 2025

and once again did you um go ahead and glance through there did anyone have any questions about anything specifically pretty standard no okay no questions the total for the claims dated today and I'd like to point out that it is um a week early due to the board meeting so it's not going to be nearly as much as usual and we'll probably Circle back to this um in the uh later agenda item but the total for today March 17 2025 is 292,000 m871 11569 and we're going to go down a couple more rows to fund $300 operations balance in operations at the end of February 2025 629 go ahead and go to the very last page and the balance in all funds is 10 million 7471 12693 as we take a look at the bank

to fund statement we've got our total um balance in our banks and then we also have our total balance in our funds that we have here at the schools and we always always want those two things to balance and usually they do and they have once again this month so we're looking good and then we have those fund transfers um that would include the education to Ops we have school launch transfer and then you also authorize me to make some adjustments if I need to move money from One bank to another total transfers for February 2024 or 2025 is 2895 and then lastly we've got um expenditures for Bond 2021 and 2022 as you can see we do did not have any expenditures during the month of February so our balance is there you'll see

there's no new expenditures so you'll see what our total expenditures to date are in both of those bonds any any questions I'd like to submit for approval any questions all right can I get a motion motion have a motion to have a second second a motion in a second we have any further discussion hearing none all those in favor I I any opposed motion will carry thank you Mr thank you okay moving on to the reports of the assistant superintendent Mrs SM you have the floor yes um as you know this is our first year with the ja program at the middle school and high school so I've invited Mrs Crosby our high school ja specialist and some of her students to come up and share a little bit about a recent competition and participated

it would you'd like to come on up everyone and share with us are just that we' these are just some of my students that came um Inman who's our president of the Jag Association then I have wat izyan wood and Maya slel and these are all kids that comped in the CDC um most of you [Music] played up to how we doing thanks for having us uh as you know I'm br mman I'm the inaugural Jag career Association president here at Green Castle as you know we are in our first year but I think we've started out pretty well I think Jag itself is a really unique class I think if you have the opportunity to take it you should it's it offers a lot that not a lot of other classes that you may

take may have I I think the two that stand out the most to me are the job shadowing opportunities that you have and the guest speakers that come in because we have guest speakers that I think the best word to use for our guest speakers is diverse we have people from colleges come in we've had people from all the Armed Forces come in we've had employers come in just something for everybody I think but the CDC is something we participated in I think in January January it was held in Terra hope I think at ivch building ivch campus and it stands for the career development conference and I think that's really really what it was I personally participated in two activities I made a made a Jag commercial for our Jag program here at K

castle with two of my friends who went up with us tonight same Lancaster and Dylan Campbell but I'd like to give them a little shout out because I do think they helped a lot with it I don't think I can stand up here and talk without them but we made a Jag commercial and that placed third in our is it class was it in ouris in our division okay we placed third in our division with that and fittingly up here I did public speaking as uh as my other activity which was impromptu you had to rehearse it and you had two to five minutes to talk about what Jag has done for you and that's what I did and I play in my division which I was which I was somewhat surprised by there were

some really great contestants but I think that's that's something that I think highlights what the CDC does it lets a school like Green Castle compete with schools that might be smaller but also might be bigger and gives students at Green Castle the opportunity opportunity to do things that they might not have the ability to do not in Jag so I think the CDC went well but I think overall the more Green Castle Jag program does I think the more success Green Castle Jag will have but I think this first year here the foot in the door I think I think it went really well but that's all I have to say in case in case all my my friend up here want to say anything else hi um I'm Izzy um this is I'm a

junior this is my first year in Jag and I really think that Dr is one of the most beneficial classes that I have taken all throughout high school and um I will continue to be taking it through my senior senior year and um just like Bren said it is like very beneficial class you get diversity of people in their tra people that went to college people that just went gr to like the workforce so I really think it helps like open like students Minds into like instead of like you don't always have to go to college You by far the workforce you still get successful so that well State I want to say something now I'm um so I would say that in Jag we don't just learn stuff about careers she also helps with

life skills and stuff like that and I feel like that's really useful because you don't really learn that in school anymore so I feel like having this class is a lot like more useful than just knowing what you want to do out of high school and it's not like we've been having guest speakers come in and it's not like you have to go to college you successful like it like having different careers come in helps a lot with knowing what you want to so and I'm also a junior and I'm taking it next year all right thank you so much for sharing well done how many students were in the class currently I have 47 I started with 50 had three move out but I have 47 currently and our Max is 50 um I

am sitting on 63 applications right now so I have Nar down wow good problem yeah it is a good it is a good to have some of the schools in our district like like in our Reg is seven which is ter they only have one period And I have four so I'm glad I don't have have that issue so awesome I was really excited to see this program get started it's a blessing to see that it's blowing up like that so well done to you all thank you thank you for being here as well all are invited to come into my classroom if you guys want to come speak we may just do that very good thank you soate it thank you I have just a couple of other things I want to share um

we've had a lot going on in the world of Fine Arts the last couple of weekends um we have our um Student Art Show going on at the putam County Museum now through April so it's a great opportunity to go and see all the wonderful artwork that our students at gcsc have submitted and done I also want to thank harrie Hamilton at TZ um they had their musical last week at the Bandstand and I I hear it was almost standing room only there were hardly any tickets left and so it was a great performance and she put a lot of work into that students did too um and then our middle school and um van and choir they competed this uh past weekend for their isma competition and there were goals across the board for

it so um it's a lot of wonderful things happening in the world of Fine Arts um and last but not least when we return from spring break uh on April 3rd we have our preschool and kindergarten Roundup at Deer Meadow and Ri so we are pushing information about that to get all of those um future tiger cubs ready and enrolled very good okay thank you for that all right we have no old business we'll move into new business we have several approval requests starting with uh schools for the future pilot program yes so we are asking for approval to participate in the schools for the future pilot program at the high school um part of the requirements for the new redesign of the diploma includes students demonstrating skills in areas like communication collaboration and work

ethic which are kind of hard to grade and so this pilot program is designed to help students showcase those skills in ways that teachers can actually track their growth and development through them in order to um get the things that they need for that high school diploma this is just a pilot program and the high school guidance will be working um with just a select group of students this first year to navigate it and give feedback to the program it's not something that we are um you know that we have to do past 25 26 and we're not paying for it um it's just a way for us to kind of look and see what is the best way that we can um track our student growth in these specific areas so that kind of

like zeros in more on what each individual student may be interested in or maybe want to move forward to right cool okay it's actually called skills for or the schools this tools for future initiative okay you have any other questions all right here can I get a motion to approve so I have a motion do I have a second second a motion in a second any further discussion hearing none all those in favor I I any opposed and motion will carry all right I have a a request for a memorandum of understanding which is mou between Green Castle School Corporation and Green Castle City Police Department excited about this one yes so we are requesting your approval um of this you between our school corporation and the city police department for an SRO officer to

begin serving our schools on April 1st um the officer will travel between five buildings um but from what Mr Gib has shared we are still defining what those specific tasks and responsibilities will be but we are very excited about this partnership and the impact it will have on our students and staff this has been a long long process long process very excited anyone have any questions so we're going to just determine the location and then how like if a principal needs them how they can be contacted think that's still to come and then I see this is through June 30th but it's renewable each year wonderful y than you and right now we're going to start with just part-time officers from the Department um and hopefully in the future we can move to more of

a full-time officer that we that we'll do it but this is kind of a pilot program to get it off the off the ground and and get us going so this is where we're at pretty excited about it very EXC what is the time frame to go through the SRO training you have a year uh from April 1 to Once once the officers start we have a year to get them through the the actal week long training for school resource officer so we're just putting them all through yeah any we have I think four four maybe five officers that are interested in doing that right now so we'll get them through um and once we get them all through then they're they're good from that point on they'll just have continuing education from that point

that they'll be required every year to to complete they'll just have the one time one time training any other questions okay hearing none can I please get a motion motion have a motion do I have a second second a motion in a second any further discussion hearing none all those in favor I I any opposed that motion will Carri thank you very much all right we have a request for the 2025 26 mindful growth school psychologist contract with Dr Abby Jones yes Mrs Sullivan is requesting board approval to continue our contract with our school psychologist services with Dr Abby Jones through mindful Gro um Dr Jones has been working with us for over a year I believe this is right year and um has been really positive so we're asking for that contract okay can
