call the meeting to order looks like we have uh any adjustments to the agenda today no sir all right you have any public comments okay thank you had a good team to work with this year so thank you we appreciate it all right new business Mr gibon yeah so uh obviously the purpose of this meeting is gcta has ratified the proposed CBA and before the board can officially ratify and approve uh the CBA we have to have a tenative agreement meeting in which uh we accept public comment on the terms of the tenative agreement they've been posted to our website they're obviously here in front of you and so it's just an opportunity for us to share this uh information uh publicly you can see I'll just quickly kind of read through this um you
can see that we've obviously made another shift um in our salary schedule um to where we're moving starting pay for bers from 45 to 468 and then it builds 2% on all the way down and then for Masters we're moving 46 to 478 level below that is 2% on down so we're continue to push the p starting P to remain uh competitive um so uh obviously each teacher will move from the level they are to um the same level in the new scale and then teachers that um are eligible to take a step down um will also take a step down so um so there's a a nice pay increase there and then uh in addition to that um we are increasing our Corporation contribution for health insurance from $6,100 for sing plan to $6,600
so $500 increase and then uh the same thing with the family plan increasing from $4,500 to 15,500 um you can see that we're going to index our ECA stiens to 468 so that's the be you know the starting pay and then we're adding um Middle School FFA and high school FFA ECA positions and we're separating those out because our goal is to eventually have separate you know have a separate teacher on a separate person for each and then um an adjustment to middle school cheer we're deleting that from the UCA schedule splitting that off into two separate ones um because typically somebody who does the fall doesn't necessarily do the winter like that's a really long season so we're splitting it into two separate even if it's the same person um we're increasing the index
for AP dual credit college level courses from 02 to 03 um and then we're increasing um boys and girls varsity tenis coach from 9 to1 and then on top of that um just some language that we're put in contract is to uh work with the gcta um to study a flat dollar SC salary schedule compensation model so um obviously one of the things U coming down from the state is is forcing us to increase um the bottom of the scale that you know both candidates for Governor have said that they're going to continue to push the bottom and so obviously we want to continue to do that um with the way our percentage scale increment works is as you increase the bottom disproportionately also increases the top and we don't we want to make sure
that we don't um have a scale that prices us out of being able to actually giving the steps right um so we want to we want to take a look at that and we don't want to do that during actually uh during parging season because it takes a lot of time and a lot of study and so we have some language in there to work together take a look at that to see if um we can develop something for for future so those are the highlights um of that um actually I'll share with you because I shared with Aaron today we received um a report back from I don't know if that came from the do I think it was the doe where um a few years ago legislature put into effect having to uh
hit 62% with your teacher compensation so 62% of your tuition support Revenue needed to go to teacher compensation that was the minimum we were at like 69 something so we're like seven and a half% um above that Mark um which is really good and that's all before um the increases um of this year because we only had roughly $230,000 in money but yeah we're investing over a half a million dollars um Plus in addition to uh for Teacher compensation so we're doing a doing a good job there and making sure that we're directing money into the classroom so that's all I have there are uh no action items on the agenda so this was just to discuss the terms of the agreement and accept um public comments so outside of any questions is the basically
the health insurance staying about step like it was staying the same we any more two or from there was a there was an increase in um premium rates um set by the trust okay um and that's one of the reasons again that we're increasing our contribution is to help offset that so that way the increase in uh salary isn't all eaten up by the increase mhm and health insurance rates how much did it go up six and a half% six and a half we have a shop at what's that we're part of a trust that's that's a figure one yeah that's a good Y and it's been a good it's it's been good for us very good in past experience being in on the trust board to do the insurance they shop a lot good
yeah and it's a that's a big lot bigger increase than past few years but not as bad as some other health insurance trusts that I've been part of where it's been like a midyear increase on top of another increase right yeah they shop a lot so I think Trend was like 8% something like that so we're still going Trend yeah they're Trend usually Trends below what the the average is but excuse my voice okay I want to say Mr giy I do appreciate all the hard work that you put into to doing this isue here um as every think I can speak for everybody on the board that we want to continue to take care of our teachers and uh give them the best that we can um just to you know help them live
better but to keep them here as well and keep them happy so thank you for all the hard work that you put in the putting this together always does anyone else excuse me anyone else have anything further hearing nothing further I will entertain a motion to close the meeting motion second a motion on a second all those in favor all any oppos meeting is adjourned thank you everyone thank you enjoy the rest of the F time
