001Get out. Not going to be your brother. I'd like to [Music] quiet You sure we got I get a ride. [Music] I'd like to also thank our coaches, teachers, activities, and a big thanks to Jude Brady who organizes this program and does the ordering for the jackets and patches. I want to take just a moment to explain how how to earn a letter jacket and how we get them. First, you must earn a varsity letter in your sport or extracurricular activity on or after your sophomore year. Every sport is different. Every activity is different on how you do earn that varsity letter. After earning your varsity letter, you get size for a jacket in our athletic office at no cost to a student or family. Then the fall of your junior or senior year, you

002receive your jacket here on stage. We are very fortunate to have JC Banks sponsor our letter jackets and pay [Music] Without further ado, I want to turn the frame over to our sponsor, Dan Anderson, who is a senior vice president of JC Bank. [Applause] [Music] >> Good morning, everyone. Today we're here to celebrate a group of students who have earned more than just a piece of clothing. They've earned a symbol of hard work and a commitment to excellence. That symbol is the leather jacket. Now leather jackets are special. They say, "I've shown up, made sacrifices, put in the time, and achieve something." And they also say, "I can now wear a heavy jacket indoors anytime I like, even when it's 85°. And no one can stop me." I'm pretty sure my daughter wore her rings

003with a leather jacket for three straight weeks before she finally took it off. This year we have 75 recipients, 36 young women and 39 young men. These students represent the academic team, band, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, the pirateers, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. Now, some of these activities require more meter reading, some less, but all of them require engagement, dedication, and resilience. To the parents, thank you for your endless support, for hauling equipment, providing complimentary user service, sitting through games and weather that made you question your life choices, and for never once saying to your son or daughter, "Maybe you should try something a little less time consensus." And to all this year's recipients, wear this jacket with pride. It's the result of your effort and

004accomplishments of early mornings, sore muscles, tired brains, bus rides that smell like fast food and socks, and teammates have turned into an congratulations to all of you. You've earned this every day. Thank you. [Applause] At this time, the letter jacket recipients will be uh being honored. I'll say everyone's name, student athletes and and and members of band and academic team and others.
