Excellent. It's been so long since I've seen it. >> That's crazy. >> Yeah. >> I said garbage. put it in Wednesday. >> Oh, that's awesome. >> Yeah, I saw her. >> So exciting. >> Yeah. >> What are your plans for retired? >> My wife's have to drive. >> They're there now. >> Good weather, right? Good weather tonight. >> Yeah. Yeah, I think it's still pretty warm. That's right. >> Are they >> Everything went smooth except we need to >> get into the hotel last time. It was really good that they went on the same place. >> Okay, everybody's ready. We're going to start the meeting at 7 p.m. And if everybody could please stand and join in the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to
the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay, we do not have the need for an executive session at this time. Um, this brings us to a presentation on the freshman academy. for having me everyone. Um, I know this is our third time around trying to do this presentation. So, I appreciate your patience and he's still having me and I wasn't able to make it the other times. So, I'm there the chairperson of the freshman academy. And, um, so I've been in the freshman academy since my first year here. Um, but the freshman academy has sort of changed leadership several times in the time that I've been here. I sort of came into it as a long-term sub. I just happened to be in it
as the person who took over for Amanda Burn. She was in it and just being in it right away. I got a heart for it. Um but then as I said, we changed leadership several times. So we were kind of trying to figure it out for several years, but I just had such a heart for it. So couple of years ago, Katie Lley and I we uh wanted to be charity of freshman academy. And so ever since then, we've really been building it into what it has come to today. Um, and it's always been something that was really important to me and I very much appreciate it time with me last year and really getting everything built together as it is right now. So, >> do you mind if I like we pause for one
second? >> Yes. just because um what is Freshman Academy and what so right right the prologue to the story is that no surprise that the transition from the TRA to the high school sometimes can be bumpy and we thought we have teams in the TRA in in the middle school years what you know shouldn't we have something in place that can sort of support students through that transition and that's what uh we ended up with the freshman academy which really it's a group of people who work really closely together um and work with those students really closely together and sort of try to as she's going to explain to you help that transition so they can be successful in high school. >> Thank you. Because yes, it was a thing that was before I came
and then I just sort of jumped right in. Yes. >> So um so here's what we teach our basic skills. Um we really work on goal setting. The students have a daily goal book that they fill out. Um weekly goal reflections, things like that. We work on study skills, positive work, daily work habits. Um, a big part of the freshman academy these last two years has become a structured literacy program that we tailor to the individual needs of our nth grade students. We're always building on that. We uh the first year we used one program and then the program we used this year we kind of built onto it more. Um, community service huge part of what we do. I'll get a lot more into that. I have a lot of pictures for you for
that. That's a big part of big part of also my heart in this uh endeavor. Uh also New York State social emotional learning goals. That's a big part of the skills that we teach that we feel like is our important skills we teach. We do a lot of that through the community service that being a really important part of it. So um I'm just making sure I'm not messing. Okay. We also do a drug and alcohol prevention program. Um we did that with uh Brooke Towers this year. she's had she's no longer with us, but she did an amazing job with all of our students to get that out program. Um, so last year we were just really starting to build out our community service um program. So we did some really cool things holiday
cards to veterans and elderly community members. A big part of community service we still do today. We mentor and support younger students at the CA gym. We got a freshman academy class over there just about every afternoon with the kids. It's really great. Everybody loves that one. Uh last year we built the wind kindness rock garden and we're always adding more of that and we made reindeer gifts for the CVA students. Um so here are just some of our pictures. Um that's always really my favorite part is just seeing the students doing what they do. So these are all stuff that we did last year. These are some of our cards and things at the CEA gym here. This was the great building of finest rock garden. It was a pretty big thing. We had
a grand opening and it was pretty special to a lot of us and have this I call this my kindness rock garden opening committee. They were very excited to be part of the whole thing. Uh so this is our plan for this year. We've done as you can see a lot more with community service projects this year. So kind of have a list but I'm going to go through pretty much everything that's um this is a video I'm not going to play it but I have it in here if anyone would like this shared with you. You can kind of see there's a few things in here you might look at. But so we introduce every this how we teach those social emotional skills is we introduce every community service project with a mini lesson
in the video. So we don't just go right into doing it. We teach it as a lesson. And so we integrate the social emotional skills and we intentionally teach community service. So our first project of the year is always painting kindness rocks because we're starting with kindness. It's always great place to start in the world, right? So we always introduce the theme of positive change. So our year begins with kindness can change the world. If anyone's seen this video, it's an amazing one about how kindness can go from person to person. But if anyone wanted a copy of these slides, we could send Yeah. Yeah. So here's what we're working on this year. So this year we decided to paint the kindness rocks at the beginning of the year. So we about kindness and then
we painted them again uh later in the year and then we're placing them now. So you can see some of the kindness rocks. A big thing we've done this year is write thank you cards to teachers. We did that for several of the holidays. That was a really special project as you can see. And this is one of our teachers who I have promised shall not be named. But one of our very favorite teachers at the TR has quite a cute collection there which I'm sure means a lot. Um and this student teacher favorite slides uh to thank Holly with this um HHR. She took all these pictures. But these are just all our students at the gym. As you can see, both our students really enjoy mentoring and helping the students. The CA students
absolutely love this community service project. We're so glad we're able to get this connection between the schools. So, this is another one. And um like I said, I I'm sorry I wasn't able to be here before, but I'm kind of glad that it worked out this way because we've done more projects since then that I've now added and won't be able to share with you. So, this was actually a really big one. Um we were able to put together almost 100 uh bags for the homeless and uh Debbie Oliver brought those down to Bingham to the Volunteers of America. We have a a man there uh receiving the boxes that we dropped off. The kids really had a great time with that one. It was pretty cool. We actually had the names come out. We
had a couple new spots for that one. So, it was really it was really cool for the kids to see the huge impact that they made to see that even all the way through they're seeing, you know, what we're doing and that it's very important. So, again, if anyone wants to copy the slides, they hadn't seen our new spots, they're linked here, Gloria, in case you need to see that. So this month, our big thing, right, we painted some more rocks and we're cleaning up the kindness rock garden, adding our own. And so this is the beginning of that. Um, so this exact I'm just going to tell a little story with this one. This is actually a little bit of the kindness rock garden kind of turned into more kindness. So a student that
I taught in ninth grade, Derek Brown, he's now a junior and he attends both Seas Masonry. So, uh, he didn't have the greatest time in Freshman Academy was, uh, fresh room, but, um, he's always kept coming to see me and he's really just come along through the years. And so, he came this year, he said, "Mrs. Spar, I would like to cut rocks for your kindness rock garden." So, I have the fresh rocks. When he brought them in, he cut them all apparently from one single stone. He cut tiles for any student in the freshman academy that wanted to paint a tile. So, um, he had one request. May I please get a picture with every student that painted one of my titles and so that's what you see there. He's very proud of that
and you can actually see his rock near that left for us for years to come. So another really important part of the freshman academy that as I said you always continuously building is our reading programs. We spend the first two quarters doing a structured literacy program and we have each uh classroom teacher. We keep that class together and they work together through the first two quarters through our reading program. Um and then in the second half we moved into what we call reading for fun which was really interesting because at first the students were like oh aren't we done with the reading but when they realized that it was actually going to be fun then you know and we did it differently. Some of us teachers decided to read a book together. Um, that's the
one you see there, the history of western art and comics. I was very fortunate to be able to purchase a class set through the social studies department that I call it global wine in the graphic novel. My students have really enjoyed reading that together during the second half of this year. Uh, other classes have picked their own books. Some of the students were like, great, I get to choose my name. And so, yes, this is when we read for fun. So, it was really cool to see them kind of grow into that, like, okay, now we've done the boring part of the reading program, right? But now's the fun part. So, it's been pretty cool to see that progressing. See, my students pictures, they don't they don't paint it as much as they say they
do. Mr. So then, uh, this is also, of course, very important part of our program that we do. This is Broke Towers. We will miss her very much. She was very amazing when she did all this. This is a program called refuse for real reasons. And so this is the drug and alcohol prevention program that we do for all of our freshmen as well. So we go. Thank you so much. >> So the the drug and alcohol prevention education comes from Lawrence Guthrie. We have they have prevention counselors they have out at the school. So that's just like another partnership that we have. >> Do you have any any questions? >> Looks like fun. I love freshman academy actually. Yes. I have a lot of fun. A lot of fun. Yes. Um there's a lot
of moving parts and it's not easy. We're dealing with freshman and helping them learn how to do things they've not done before. But yes, >> okay. for correspondence. We did have a letter from the New York State Department of Transportation in this packet. Apparently, we're doing very well with um bus maintenance and below the state average for having buses off the road. And it's normally every year really good. And uh you I just happened to receive it last week and I thought, you know, you guys should see, you know, something that the that mechanic department's doing up there and keeping our buses on. So, Okay. Um, policies for discussion. >> Okay. So, ignoring your agenda because that's actually last week's policies for discussion and um, >> but in the correct ones are in there now.
>> So, that's Tom. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, um, staying with our theme of trying to get through all the special ed, um, policies. Do you want to take I have a paper copy, too. >> Yeah, I can I can >> Yeah, we should have brought a slug, huh? >> Thanks. >> Um, again, staying with the theme of trying to get through the special ed sequence, which all of them are either last reviewed in 1991 or 2009. Um and uh again trying to not have policies that are not required for us to have and that are really governed by regulation and law because what we find is that then our policies are wrong because regulation and sometimes law changes. So uh this group um is the first one is 7670 and this is the impartial
hearing um uh requirements. This is something that we're supposed to have. So our old policy if you if you look here 1991 that's what it needed to be updated. So uh the new policy is the current procedures for impartial hearing. Um, and that's Eerie 1's policy, their suggested policy, and it just uh, and this is, like I said, required for us to have. Um, and it's up to date. >> Okay. >> So, that's one of you can read through that and the plan would be to have that the first reading next time. Uh the next one interestingly is uh we had two policies two different numbers which were really the same policy. So it was 7629 and 7641. This policy um is actually not required but um is important I think um because it speaks
to IEP distribution and um it is it just very clearly articulates the need to not just create an IEP and for some people to have the IEP but but that to everybody who has to know in order to serve that child consistent with their IP has to be able to have it read it and before the child ever enters. So, um the the new version is the um very one suggested version and also the other important part of this is that it also really stresses the confidentiality. So, my proposal to you is that we even though it's not required by law that we have it, but I think that it's got very important components that we want to make sure we're stressing our um as a district. What's number will we pick? >> Well, I
signed 7641 pick. >> Yeah, I mean if you really like 7629 >> um you know >> I'm not I'm not married to it. It's okay. All right. Um and the next group are um not required and in fact Erie one doesn't even have samples for these um and these are governed by regulation um and our these policies are wrong because they're out of date. So um regulation has changed um and they are uh the appointment and training committee on special education subcommittee of special education members that the required membership is not the same as what's in this policy. The same thing for CPSC. There's another policy and then there's also one outlining transition services which are covered by regulation and u so I would propose that we now have these policies and we just follow
regulation. >> Okay. So that if you could if you in your spare time as usual if you could read through them and look for anything that needs to be We know that sometimes the language that year one uses is not the way we would prefer to have it and I can have it updated by the next meeting. >> Got it. >> Okay. Thank you. So policies for first reading. The first one is 7613. Um we are looking to remove this policy. Um this is is this one that is governed by >> so this one is yeah let's just go through this um this one is um not required um it is also governed by regulation um and we actually have the language from this policy in other policies. I I think there are some components
to this obviously you can look at this and look at the updated language language we don't use anymore um but just the fact that you know the the program accessibility um that all of our programs are need to be accessible that we would um emphasize a universal design for instruction and and is in the other policies that we have been updating. So, you know, sometimes I think that if they have important concepts that we should keep it, but this one is >> um could I have a motion? I forgot to do that earlier. Sorry. >> So, move. Thank you, Chris. A second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Molly. Um, did any did the board have any questions or comments on this one? >> Yeah. All those in favor? I. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? >>
Okay. Policy number 7615, discipline of students with disabilities. This one is also slated for removal. May I have a motion? >> So move. >> Thank you, Tom. A second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Benny. So, this one also is was 1991 and 2010 that it was last reviewed. Um it covers things that are covered by regulation and the regulations have changed. Um we have to follow regulation. I would say we should not have a policy though where where we would subject be subject to be incorrect in our policy. >> Good cause confusion. >> Any questions from the board? >> All those in favor. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? Okay. Policy 7617, declassification of students with disability. This one is also slated for removal. May I have a motion? So move. Thank you, Chris. And a
second. Second. Thank you, Audrey. Okay. And again, this one is not a required policy for us to have. It was last um review, although it we adopted it in 2010. um it is also incorrect currently in its current state and it is covered by regulation and also reporting requirements um through NIS. So >> any questions from the board? All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstain? and policy 7620, students with disabilities participating in school district programs also slated for removal. May I have a motion? So move. Thank you, Chris. And a second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Michelle. Okay. So, this is also not required. You can see it was 1991 and 2009. And the concepts that are in this policy, even though they're out using outdated terminology, we incorporated into the the new
0267611, which is more comprehensive and again includes all these important concepts about access. Okay, any questions? All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? Okay. 7628 provision of interpreter services to parents who are hearing impaired. Um, this one is uh through approval for first reading. May I have a motion? >> I have Tom and is that you Chris? >> No. >> Molly. Okay. >> Just >> Okay. So, it's not loaded in here, but it is. So that this policy um we had a policy it was last reviewed in in 2010. It the new it is it is fine. Um I just think we should note that we're reviewing it at this point 2026. So we're just really the the area 1 policy is identical um and it just notes that and this
is required um that we are you know obliged to provide interpreter services which we do. Any questions from the board? All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? Policy 7616, least restrictive environment. >> Yeah, it's not >> didn't get updated. Um it's in last. >> It was it was in the last board. >> Yeah. And um so this so our old policy um this is not required. I think this is one of those things where it's an important concept to have articulated um clearly in its own policy. It does not have a lot of language that it would be would change with regulation. Um I would recommend just updating it to the new area 1 version. What number is that? >> 7615. >> Okay. Yeah. >> It shouldn't I don't know why
it didn't get loaded into this week's >> This is um May I have a motion? So move. >> Thank you, Chris. And a second. Second. >> Thank you, Benny. Um does anybody have any questions? Okay. All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstain? >> Okay, that brings us to policies for second reading. Um, policy 5220, district one, we got one more response to intervention. Yeah. >> Oh, yes. I'm sorry. I wrote things in the wrong place. Yes. Okay. Policy 7673, response to intervention. Um, it is for first reading. May I have a motion? >> Thank you, Chris. And a second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Michelle. So, uh, it's also not in there. It was in our last um in our last agenda. So, the the old policy was called response to intervention. It
that was a requirement that we had to have that. I think it was 2010. We adopted that policy. what's outlined here is not consistent with our current practice. And the policy that we need to have is specifically supposed to be called pre-referral intervention strategies. Um because you need to show that you before somebody can be referred to the committee on special education that you have to have to have pre-referral interventions available and to implement it for each student. So the new policy is quite a bit different um and outlines what the requirements are for us as a school district and is consistent with what we do now in our practice which you know RTI is kind of part of that within that structure but um this is more comprehensive with lots of different services that
could be provided for students um before they come to committee to consider whether they have a disability. So the new um version I can give anybody here might my paper copy if you need to look at it around but it's it's in the agenda from last meeting. >> So again that is a that is required to have it um and we actually did not have the right what we needed to have. So it and the title also if you look in the in the what's in in board docs right now it it will be called pre-re referral intervention strategy NTSS the new policy >> any questions >> you said that's in board docs right now. >> Yeah. >> You see where it says the the title 7673. Yeah, it says response intervention district. >> There
it goes. Yeah, >> because the old one was called that. So, the new one will be change it to that. >> Okay. Um, all those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? >> Now we can go to policies for a second. um policy 5220 district um investments and this is for second reading and adoption. May I have a motion? >> Um and Aubrey. So this policy uh again just as a reminder um it's allowing the district to pull our funds into a nightclass which is an avenue a lot of other municipalities are using. Uh basically uh the rates are very similar but our funds aren't tied into the term of a typical CD. Um and we're able to uh invest more because we can withdraw them sooner. So we have more liquidity with
an ICASS investment. Okay. Any questions from the board? All those in favor? I. >> Any opposed? Any abstain? Okay. Policy 5221, operating and reporting of district investments. It is got sticky. So it does not indicate. Oh, for this one's for removal. I'm sorry. >> Okay. So, may I have a motion? >> So, moved. >> Thank you, Chris. And a second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Molly. >> So, I think this policy is not required and we no longer do this practice. Um, again, just to be consistent, when we were updating this policy, we looked at this one and it should just really be >> excess. All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstain? So this does bring us to our first opportunity for comments from the public. Um each speaker will be limited to
a maximum of three minutes and the entire public comment period to a maximum of 30 minutes. This may be waved by a majority vote of the board. The board requests that each speaker stand, state their name, residency, and topic of discussion. By law, the board will not permit any public statements regarding individual students or employees. And please be advised that while the board takes public comment very seriously, we are not allowed to comment or respond during the meeting as this is our opportunity to page um to hear from our stakeholders. Items brought to the attention of of to the board will be taken under consideration for future responses or action or the proper staff member will get back to you at the appropriate time. There is of course a second opportunity towards the end of
the meeting as well. But is there anybody who would like to speak at this time? Okay, that brings us to commendations. Okay. So, we're gonna start with art teachers. Mrs. Hubard, Mrs. Nelson, Miss Browley, Mrs. Ortiz, Mr. Mandville, and the following Whitney Point students, uh, student artists for having their artwork displayed in the Da Vinci Visual Arts Festival at the B County Public Library in Bington. And that is running through May 29th. So from the CA we have Tegan, Ensley, Jeremiah, Olive, Naa, Stephanie, Mason, and Reagan. At the TRA we have Alana, Caitlyn, Juliana, Emilyn, Kaden, Madison, Adelyn, Fisher, Owen, Ezra, Mallerie, Dalton, Zoe, Isa, and Gabriella. And the high school we have Gabriella, Brooklyn, Daniel, Danielle, Payton, Lacy, Mia, Addison, Brooke, Connor, Nora, Ava, Giana, Zayn, Missy, Siri, and Allison. Are we all guessing
the last names because I was wondering >> I know. >> Well, we know they're all very talented. And if you've seen the artwork, it's just truly amazing. And while you're at it, you can look right behind you, you'll see the beautiful display that we have tonight. Okay, Mrs. Lner and her fourth grade class for raising American eels. Um, Mr. Tasbury, you did uh honor them last meeting, but um there was nice news coverage um if you saw that. Um the American eels are a threatened species uh since 2025 uh and that they've had that status and releasing them at Derk Park in Homer um happened on May 5th. The project is a was a collaboration with the upper Suscuana Coalition. Um thank you to Mr. Tasper um for participating in that and um thank you
also for recognizing that at the last meeting. The CA physical education teachers, Mrs. Montasano and Mr. Santel for implementing the all kids bike program. Again, if you saw that on the news, that was really neat to see our kids riding. um helping kindergarten and first grade students learn to ride bicycles and our um I also would like to thank uh Boseies for their partnership because our teachers had that idea because we had this uh had they have that in marathon and we were talking about um how a lot of kids don't learn how to ride bikes and so we um really don't have space to have bikes in our uh in our storage units. So we proposed to Boseies would they be consider consider purchasing them and have them as sharing um uh bikes for
the whole region and they did that very quickly and our kids got to take advantage of that. So thank you to everybody for their involvement. Um varsity volleyball coach um and athlete Billy Lee for being named the 2025 New York State Volleyball coach coaches association player and coach of the year. Mrs. Brochious steel civic readiness students Natalie Brink Peaches the cow and the miracle family and everyone at the TR for helping Natalie to raise over $1,000 for Speak Animal Hospital. And I don't know if you saw the video of kissing the cat >> and Peaches was at the TR for a good period of time and she was the star of >> Mr. Marville again and the following students for their construction pizza build earning them the 2026 best overall award. This is an opportunity
offered by Chiao for students to learn engineering from a different perspective. The group brought the products using a 2000 uh bought the products using a $2,000 check from Chiao and the food purchase will go to local food banks uh particularly Gunnar Blowers, Liliana Tracy Bronson, Benjamin Stever, Russell Hos, Win Moer, Levi Lee, Haley Ward, Lillian Stever, Poppy, and Poppy Mullen. I don't know if you saw this. Did anybody see it? >> Holy cow. >> It's just amazing. I didn't think we could really top last year's, but that was really something. >> Um, I'm sure I think we're going to get some video of it for for next meeting. >> Um, and the Whitney Point High School seniors for their placement in the top 10 of the Whitney Point High School graduating class of 2026. Um,
number one, Olivia Summers, then Hannah Summers, Khloe Mullen, Natalie St. John, Shell Sabin, Billy Leit, Genevie Houston, Maline Zair, Connor Jrasa, and Lily Davis. Congratulations to all of them. Very commended all their hard work. >> It's time for our student board member to give their report. >> Okay. >> Some negatives, some neutrals, and some positives. Okay. Um, some negatives I've noticed is the upcoming stress for finals and regions and tests in general. Um, a lot of people a lot of teachers are still getting through their final units and some students are worried they won't have enough time to review at the end of the year or cover all the material needed for their tests. But, you know, I think we are slowly getting along there and I do feel we'll still be able to do
good on the finals and regions, but I have noticed some increased stress levels from that. Um um a concern we're still seeing is overlapping schedules with sports clubs and events. Um one student told me I won't name names that she has a sport event and the ice cream social in the same day. So now she has to choose which one she has to go to and both of them are like required. So that's uh you know not good. And then I recent I joined lacrosse which is like the first ever sport I played in high school. And I did notice that the schedule I couldn't go to a lot of my clubs because I was in I had to go to those practices every day. So I had to pick and choose and one of
the others would get upset of course. So you know just more scheduling issues. We should probably eventually look out work out with some teachers and stuff. Okay. And to the neutrals. Okay. I've heard a lot of mixed thoughts about prom. I've heard lots of people um be happy that we're no longer at the Hathway House, but some people obviously upset that we're not at the Hway House because they're like, "Oh, but it's tradition. Why aren't we going back there?" And then some people just don't like the fact that it's going to be like in a tent, I guess, or like outside in an outdoor venue. So, but I have heard more positives that it's not at the halfway house anymore. Um, I've heard lots of good things about how we're going to dig in and
busters. Everybody's really excited about that. Um, one concern that I've heard, well, more of a complaint I've heard is the bus. Since we it's going to be farther away at Dave and Busters, the school is providing a bus, which is very nice to transport kids back and forth from school. But some are upset that I guess they can't like leave after prom or just not go to after prom and leave the and leave the prom if they're taking the bus if they don't have access to a ride or something because if they sign up for the bus and they have to stay that whole time and some people do not want to stay that whole time which is you know just a concern they said. Okay. Um, a good slashneutral rule is I mentioned the
field day the last time I was here which is the planning is going good for that. It should be happening soonish. A lot of the activities were worked out and they should be you know hopefully happening. Um, and this I would consider this more positive but I have heard some complaints about it so I decided to put it in the neutral. Um, we are gonna students, upcoming seniors, and I think maybe all students are going to be able to paint a mural on like a little thing. I heard um this was a new idea proposed from originally the upcoming seniors wanted parking spots for for the student parking lot. They wanted to be able to paint parking spots for them, but we some people feared that it might be, you know, not inclusive enough, like
people who don't have cars, they wouldn't, you know, have a spot to paint. So, we were worried about left out. So, a compromise we made is now we'll be painting like a mural on the wall, a wall where everybody, you know, can have some room to paint and enjoy it and not be left out. Okay. And some positive I've seen now that we're towards the end of the year, the attendance I think has like really improved. I've been seeing a lot more kids in their seats. Um, and I think some part of that is due to all the activities and events we have going on. Like the student voice council we know made activity eagle time which I've told you a bit about and I think that has been working well for getting students in
their seats and we're having our last one next week which should also be good. And then I've noticed like lots of field trips to make kids want to go to school. And I guess they're missing still half the day, but they're still there, you know. So like Thursday, I know that the um student success people are going on a field trip to Doorchester today. I think it was either a college visit or just a little field trip for seniors, I heard. And then events in general, the school has been trying to get a lot more people in. Like a few week like last week or two weeks ago, there was some mental health awareness tables out in the hallway. So during your lunch period, you can stop there. There was like some prizes and spinning
wheels you could do for interacting and learning about that mental health. And then next week, the SAD club, which is students against destructive decisions, um there the the police are coming in with like the drunk goggles, the seat belt race, and the crash test to make it's like to inform students about the dangers of drunk driving, distracted driving, but make it kind of fun so they're not just like another lecture. So they can do these fun activities to make them more aware. And then there is a pledge that they can do where they say, "Okay, I'm not going to be drinking or texting while driving." And you can get like a local bracelet for it, which you know, nice and sensitive. Okay. Any questions, comments, concerns? A >> lot going on. >> Very thorough. There

Any abstain? >> Yeah, I do appreciate that we do the geographical preference for fruit and vegetables because it does mean
that we get locally produced items and as that's always important. So here's one of our ones that I have to read the whole thing. Rick one risk operations center the rock whereas four Boseies Anadaga Courtland Madison Boseies Albanese Gohare Skenctity Saratoga Boseies Madison Onida Boseies and Bronteoga Boseies have collaborated and entered into an article 5 general municipal law intermunicipal arrangement for the purpose of improving vendor management and data security and privacy practice for school districts and or Bosei statewide. known as the Rick one risk operations center, the rock. Whereas the board of education of the Whitney Point Central School District through its affiliation with a locally based regional information center participates with the Rock and desires for the 2026 2027 fiscal year to authorize the Rock and its attorneys to negotiate data privacy agreements and

Be it resolved, the Whitney Point Central School District Board of Education authorizes the use of DPAs negotiated by the Rick Rock and its attorneys consistent with its needs and the needs of students. And be it further resolved that the

May I have a motion? >> So, thank you. >> Feel like we got to get a wrap going or something. You know, when I was reading this yesterday, I giggled each time, too. So, um, and a second. >> Michelle. >> Sure. >> Okay. >> Any questions? >> I mean, I'll speak a little bit about it. >> Part of again, there's so much information out there. We hear about new you know attacks on anything software related almost daily. Um part of nice uh requirement is to have
these data privacy agreements in place. They are very timeconuming very hard for one person to know all the legal requirements in house negotiate these for every single software vendor we ever may use. Um so again kind of combines forces and they do that for us. It's basically what this is. and also make sure that those companies are complying with you know the data security things that we need to do and if like you know they can do it for all districts and the construction manower >> no sense in reinventing the wheel for every district for every time any questions all those in favor. Any opposed? Any abstain? Superintendent update. Um just two things. Um one is it's a super busy time of the year with lots of exciting things happening. So I'm just going to

Okay. Um comments from the public. Um this is the second opportunity. Uh the parameters I read at the beginning still don't follow through for this one. Is there anybody who would like to speak at this time? Okay. Um board of education comments. So I got with all the board members already um for the you not here. So they're all set for the board
um evaluation on Joanne. So it it does need to be done by the end of the month at the latest so that I can data together. Um just remember when you go in you have to pick the 25 26 year and to be sure that you're picking Joanne Flexon so you do that evaluation and when that's done I will have everything ready for our next board meeting. So then we can do our board evaluation. >> Thank you. >> Oh one more now. >> Yep. I am headed to the Albany leadership conference. Um, that is the end of July. If anybody wants to go, um, let me know. I always get room at two double bets. So, if another board member is excited about that and wants to try to go, it's a Friday Saturday. So,
we come home half day Saturday, so it's not that bad. Um, but and it's one of the most inexpensive conferences we can go to, only like 120 bucks plus work. So, if we get more than one of us, then maybe we can share a room and um, we can even get across from the school district. the information on those days. >> I'll just put it in a message and send it. >> Thank you. >> You snore. >> Do I snore? Not usually. >> Oh, unless not an open session. >> Unless you've had too much coffee from Duncan. >> Yeah. >> And I don't drink coffee from Duncan does that. >> Maybe Michelle.
