Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Lori for
for your work back there. I said Mr. Nan back for music. Um but I just want to thank everyone for coming here. This is our our December meeting which we showcase a number of our our ensemble groups that we have here today. Few weeks ago, two weeks ago was out at the Levittown holiday tree lighting, the Christmas tree lighting in Levittown and Mrs. Mcgory came with her group. And uh who is there? Who could raise their hand who was there during the the tree lighting ceremony? Because I really want to highlight all these kids who were so tough and resilient. It was 20 degrees out, freezing cold. There was a northeastern winds coming through and these kids were out there in short sleeves. It was unbelievable. Couple days later, I was over at the high
school concert. There Mrs. Mcgory was. She came down with the flu after being out in that cold weather, but she stuck it through the concert. It was unbelievable. I hope you're feeling better, Mrs. Mcori. >> Oh my goodness. So, these kids, teachers, they're all they're all wonderful. And we're going to recognize some of the people in a minute uh for their outstanding music accomplishments this year. So, we first by getting an order of business. We'll do the pledge. We'll get to the all counties and uh some other things and we'll get you out of here. But for the kids, for the groups, the ensemble groups did outstanding job. One more applause. [applause] Thank you. United States for our troops. >> All right, let's get started. [clears throat] So, we have all state, all county lifts
students to be recognized. Uh, in order to do this, I'm going to need help. I'm going to need help from the music teachers to come on down. Mrs. Marcus is our our music chair. She does a great job with our kits and long storyried history of violent trees music department. Now, she's at the helm. So, if we could have the school administrators who were here to help out with the awards too, we'll get them up front and then we'll have all the kids line up uh for all those successes. We'll get a great big picture. We'll put it on the website, tweet it out, Instagram it out, and whatever else we do these days with social media. >> So, thank you all for being here tonight. It's a really special night. We get to play
for you and we get to recognize the kids who have really accomplished so much musically um so far this year. Uh I wanted to just thank those were members of the chamber orchestra back there. Um and that's directed by Mrs. Dan McCory and we have the sax [clears throat] leads which is directed by Mr. S. And we had members from the chorus which is directed by me. Um so thank you and I hope some of the younger students um got a really you know got a chance to see what what happens when you get older. You get to do all of these things and and play with your friends and sing and it's really something cool. I know I saw at least one young saxophone player who I saw this morning play in the fifth
grade or sixth grade uh band and right smack damn in front of the saxophone. So I hope that was cool for you. Um anyway, so let's call up our teachers over here. Why don't you come on down over here? [applause] our fifth and sixth grade band teacher and also the music lead teacher. And we have Miss Caroline Gretchie who teaches um all of the middle school orchestra, Mr. Sand who teaches all the high school band. And this is Lean Mccuri who teaches all of the high school orchestra. Um so we're gonna start recognizing some kids. That's why we're here. Um and should I introduce you guys too? [laughter] >> All right. Um, so let's start with the high school students. Uh, we have our first student to come up please and you'll come up and
you'll get certificate over here and we'll hang out until we take a picture. So, we have Kaylee Avagano who um is going to be singing in all COUNTY [applause] and who's also going to be singing in all county. [applause] And we also have uh Jessica Bizo. [applause] Next we have Benjamin Canelis. He'll be playing bass. Um, [applause] next up we have Audrey Valdez and she did something really cool recently. So, she wrote this electronic music composition and it was submitted to the All State uh conference and they accepted her and she was one of just a few students who got to have their piece performed. um up in Rochester at all state. It was really cool. I got to see it and she spoke really well and got wonderful feedback. So, CONGRATULATIONS. [applause] NEXT, we
have Ethan Teao and he will be attending all county and list [applause] and we have Katherine Yu who will be attending. [applause] I did not. Okay. Um we have Justin Coup who will be going to all county and list. [applause] And next you have Christopher McCoy who will be going to all COUNTY [applause] and John Rodino who will also be going to all COUNTY [applause] STUDENTS. to mention the high school. Why don't we slide down the students? We'll get the board administration. Get a nice picture for some nice >> [applause] >> So I I read some place that the musical talent that kids get all from the jeans, the mother's side of the jeans world. In fact, the academic success also comes from the maternal side of the gene, too. Anything that good happens with
your kid, it's all the mom. If anything bad, it's always a dad. [laughter] >> Okay. >> It's true in your house. >> I mean, I don't want to say it's true in my life, though. My My dad's pretty nice. Um, [clears throat] okay. So we are going to start with our middle school students now. Um first we'll have Zachary Celli [applause] Holly. [applause] and Calvin Baricado [applause] and Juliana Spa. [applause] And next we have Dominic Palo. [applause] And we have Damian Wis [applause] and Mariel Kane. >> [applause] >> And next we have Tristan Spiritu going to ALL [applause] and we have John Schuman going to [applause] Middle school kids, can you come on down this way for your photo, please? Thank you. >> [applause] >> And our final group of students to be recognized are
a group of fourth graders. And last year was the first year we sent students to the peak festival. Stands for parents, educators, um, and kids. And [laughter] so this means this was kind of a really cool thing. The Mr. Robertson went with them. He unfortunately could not make it here tonight and all each child had to bring a parent or guardian with them and so it was like a family using music music making making day. So I think that's pretty cool. Um so can I the first person is Addison [applause] and then Valentina Porzo. [applause] Mariela Cassandra Soriana [applause] and Felicity Sweet. [applause] Good luck at our high school. But these elementary usage Before [applause] I give back the mic, I just wanted to quickly thank everybody in this room because these kids do not
get to do these things unless they have their adults like you. They come early in the morning. They practice. They make all sorts of sounds from their first beginning and you've gotten them from elementary school all the way through high school doing these wonderful things. So, I wanted to thank all of the um parents and thank you very much and have a happy happy holiday. [applause] >> [applause] >> Great job. Thank you so much. Thank you for the music teachers, the parents, and and of course those beautiful children that you all have. That was unbelievable. And those little ones, those four at the end, oh my gosh, so nice. And those kids, what happens? They come back in middle school, they come back at the high school. There are future top 10 kids that we
recognize. So, you see them once, we're going to see them 10 times by the time they graduate uh with these board recognitions. And it's really important for the board to see uh the fruits of their effort because they don't get to see all this this good stuff and these smiles all the time. The staff does uh you do, but the board doesn't. So tonight's a special special day for uh the community and for the board. And speaking of the board, uh our final recognition is is Brian Fielding. Uh Brian Fielding was elected to the board of education in 2014. I didn't know Brian then, but I remember that election night very well and I saw his raw emotion where he broke down at Stokes after being elected and I immediately had a good feeling about
Brian. You could just tell that he genuinely wanted to make a difference here and he has. Brian was part of the board team that helped secure the historic $50 million referendum that transformed our facilities districtwide. When people talk about the beautifification of the island trees, Brian's fingerprints are all over that work. In fact, the very room we're sitting in tonight stands as a testament to his commitment and support of our school community. Many of the community also know Brian through his involvement with the Island Tree Soccer Club, where he brought that same level of energy, support, and hands-on dedication. In an era where many parents and people stand on the sidelines while a small group of volunteers do the work, Brian was one of all those people, always one of those people doing the work.
He started the trick or trunk for Island Tree students years ago and that was a great way to give back to the community. He is deeply involved with the Easter events, including dressing up as the Easter Bunny himself from time to time. And he never hesitated to put on that Santa suit, also raising thousands of dollars year after year with every dollar going back into the community. When tensions would rise, whether in the boardroom or with community room visitors, which happened from time to time, Brian had an uncanny ability to interject himself with just enough levity to bring the temperature down in the room. Little did we know, little did I know that all these jokes weren't just in the moment, they were research. Apparently, Brian has been gathering materials for years for his next
passion project, comedy. Brian is now booked regularly throughout the area as an emerging standup act. So Brian's a new standup comedian on a well-known circuit. And after 11 years on the board, he has more material than he knows what to do with. I hope Brian truly knows how much of a difference he has made in Island Trees. His impact will be felt here for years to come. And I'll say this without hesitation. Brian Fielding is firmly on my personal Island Trees Mount Rushmore board members that I've had the privilege to work with. So, thank you, Brian, for your service, your heart, and yes, your sense of humor. Congratulations serving the board. And we're going to miss you a lot, BRIAN. [applause] >> [applause] >> FINE. You want you want you have a few words you
want to say? >> Yes. >> Remember this is family entertainment here. This isn't the comedy club. >> This isn't governors. >> Okay. [clears throat] No, truly for the past 12 years, I can say it has been an honor to serve on this board with this community and everything. Like Dr. Murphy said, you know, I lived up here by even better on the stage on the circuit. I've been blessed since May to be doing this. I've done the governors. I adopt them in New York City and I've been a vegan son of Connecticut and I've got bookers actually now that book me all over the place. So that's been devoting a lot of my time. So making this decision was not easy. After 12 years, especially being involved in many different community events, like Dr. Murphy
said, the trunk of treats, the Easter icons, the standard events, the outdoor movies back in the day. I I truly appreciate this community. I love it. I even got the once a bulldog, always a bulldog with the love book tattooed on my leg. >> So forever I'll be part of this community. When I came onto this board, you know, we all got together. I've had many tournaments throughout the years. This board is like the MPD's real world. The seven strangers came together into one room to work together for the better of the community. And today I leave with one at the Jersey Shore. We're one dysfunctional family. But the key word in that sentence is we're a family. Everything we do is for the community right here. We don't do it for us. We do
it for you. The staff, the teachers, the administrators. I've had two kids go through this district and I cannot be proud of this district. I was a 1995 graduate here. Mrs. Roma who sits up on this deus. I have her on the left as an English teacher. I've graduated with some of the teachers in this district and that's how great Island Trees is. Many don't realize we're a small community but everybody stays in Island Trees and that's one thing that everybody should be proud of about this community. I thank you for giving me 12 years. He's trusting me over years. Whether you me or not, I don't know. But I appreciate everyone and I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. >> [applause] [applause] >> So Brian was able to give in
a couple subtle plugs about where he'll be in January. So thank you. Thank you fellas. I'll be here all week. We're going to go. But we're gonna give everyone about uh five minutes to because we want the kids to go home and continue to practice because we want to see you back here next year. And for the seniors graduating, thank you for all you've done. We'll give everyone about five minutes to uh leave and then we're going to go back to our board business. But we really appreciate all the parents. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a happy new year to all. Addison. Oh, you're >> [laughter] >> See you. [laughter] So good. Action item number one. Second favor. I >> approval of the consent agenda for action items number 3 through 11 report for October
0212025. >> All those in favor? I motion let the record accept the financial report for October 2025. On that any visitors for old and new business and I think All those in favor? >> I Every holiday.
