003pirates looking set something up here comer drives dishes it back out to dire dire to sparks sparks to cummer on the right side ball getting swung around around quite nicely here there's a skip pass to spark sparks for three up and good quick lead for your pirates three to nothing just 30 seconds into this matchup tonight jaylen what do you think the wildcats need to do tonight to play with the pirates and get in their heads and whatever they can do um i think it's just mainly about stopping that offense the off uh the pirates offense is kind of dominant this year and i feel like as long as the wildcats are stopping that pretty decently then i don't think they'll have too much of a problem i agree and there's a three up by
004that's bolos there and the rebound by ertl now jurian has the ball tipped away by sparks this stokes with the ball to bolos to ertl and erdle into two for two [Applause] and woods we we saw the change of play that the spartans put up against the pirates and it proved to be good for him as conor field was victorious against the pirates just a few days ago there's a skip pass by cummer to walters to sparks comer for three and it's good quick pirates four point lead six to two minute thirty into the first quarter that's something franklin county is gonna have to stop real quick if they want to have any shot is our three-point game i agree the three-point game for the pirates is very strong this year [Music] here we go
005we have bolos with the ball looking to find some action here passes to ertl erdel drives right into traffic out foot on the line and that's a two-point basket for stokes and there's a foul colin cummer driving into the lane gets fouled not sure who that's on yet number 30 pirates will take the ball out of bounds kai dyer passes into cummer oh big pass into the lane there by sparks here goes dyer for three just off the right side and stanley goes up nobody around him and gets the two points for the pirates eight to four with five minutes and 30 seconds left in the quarter wildcats swinging the ball around here not as quickly and efficiently as the pirates but still something they've gotten their two baskets off nice drives nice passes yeah
006that's something i can i notice that the wildcats are doing quite well they're sharing the ball around and uh most of the time it's leading in points that's just the first drive we've seen the wildcats not score here there's two point shot off by cummer but cummer gets the board goes up strong another two points for the pirates 10 to four with four minutes or just under five minutes left here in the first quarter yeah that's five points for cummer that was just great hustle all around right there yeah cummer really showing up off the boards too today uh what we're seeing in this matchup quickly is the pirates dominating offensive boards dominating in the lane dominating outside the line pretty much everywhere right now here we go durian with the ball [Applause] unsure what
007to do here as the wildcats are trying to line up a play and there's a handoff to ertl [Applause] cummer gets denied going in for the dunk it appears [Music] and the wildcats are quickly back into this game of course they are never really out of the game just about five points behind six points behind i believe yeah i believe six at one point yep hit that three-pointer ertl hit it and got him right back into the game and here we go uh jurian is tripping around a little bit up top as dyer is playing great defense against him wildcats slowing down the pace of play here quite a bit we see the pirates on there and just moving the ball swinging getting the basket as quickly and as efficiently as possible and walters falls
008down there up for stokes and out and stokes was fouled on the ground i believe that was stanley that'll be his first foul and team's first style oh that's on walters my bad yeah it just seemed like he came and came in a little out of control trying to get that uh trying to get that swat and there's a steal by sparks he's going all the way in and rims in and out and that ball will stay with the pirates you won't see that too very often either sparks is usually uh pretty pretty good at laying those balls in yeah he is he usually finishes from his left side as that's his strongest side just an unlucky little bounce there a little too much and stanley goes up for the two points and gets it
009pirates finding the open man very efficiently today very well just quick and easy for him uh we were just under three minutes left into the quarter here 12-7 lead pirates durian swings that's the bolos here bolos has the ball back to durian and there's a steal by sparks i'm guessing this one's getting slammed down oh no just a little land for sparks ertl brings up the ball for the wildcats there's a screen by stokes erdell for three and it's in erdell is two for two from outside the three-point line tonight that is eight points right there pirates getting a little dribble drive going here not much though can't penetrate into the lane get the pass in there to penetrate and there's a three point attempt by cummer rattles around the rim bounces every which way
010and goes in and that is also cummer's eighth point see he's two for two behind the line as well isn't he uh i believe so ertle for two swatted off the board by stokes there kind of just reached an arm out for it and here goes dyer he'll take a three-point attempt up and just off the back side of the rim pirates applying good pressure here and there's the ball off ertl's fingers here we go sparks goes in and there's two points for sparks 19 to 10 with a minute 30 left in the first quarter really a quick pace game going on here as the wildcats have tried to slow it down a little bit they haven't been very effective with it as the pirates have been finding that ball finding in the passing lane
011and grabbing that ball and getting their fast break yeah if you uh if you look closely you'll notice that ertl is the only one who has uh he has eight of the points and he's just on fire tonight didn't he that's uh that's 10 points for so he has 10 out of the 12 with the other two being stoked not much wealth being shared here tonight by the wildcats pirates looking for a basket here sparks up and just off target with this jumper stanley gets knocked to the ground there wildcats slowly going across the uh half court line comer will apply some pressure to bolos ball goes to erdl ertl's getting backed into the corner there at half court and there's the count and a time out by franklin county jaylen what do you think
012the pirates are doing well tonight that's really just setting them apart from the wildcats right now yeah just rounding out this first quarter it just seems like the pirates are uh they're going more for the shots they are shooting more threes and uh obviously they're sharing the ball around more with their three players having uh pretty spread out points compared to ertl and uh stokes stokes yeah uh having the only two points with erdo having ten of those so it just kind of seems like the pirates are spreading the uh points around and compared to where the wildcats are yeah i would agree there and we're just getting back into the action here as the timeout buzzer rings 14 seconds left here in the first quarter wildcats looking to put something up here whether it

014confusion could be there as two players have the same last name i mean the pirates really pushing the ball well here getting it swung around getting an open shot whatever they need to do yeah absolutely i've noticed that the wildcats are uh they're slowing the ball down quite a bit uh more than the pirates but the pirates seem like they're being more efficient with it yeah and the wildcats they had what was it i think two two early turnovers there that led to two uh or four points by the pirates two each turnover that kind of caused some separation in the score of this game tonight yeah that's something they're gonna have to watch and be careful of ball gets inbound to turtle on the back court bolos has the ball now durian trying to
015find his way open but he can't and there's some tight defense on bolos by cummer and there's a foul that was number 23 lucas stacy that went up for that two point attempt there and now he'll have two free throws first one up and good [Applause] and there's the third player on the board for the wildcats here yeah with his first points of the game second attempt up rattles in and out and stanley is there to secure the rebound sparks to comer quickly cummer drives in gets the ball swatted away from the back and that'll be a foul that is durian's first foul for the wildcats and the team's second foul we haven't seen much fouls here today as not not per usual here stringer enters the game for the pirates and so does pettit
016ball off stanley's hands as he can't quite get the ball here we go stringer on jury in pretty tightly durian crosses over goes around stringer and there's a three-point attempt for ertl up and off target and that's the first ball we've seen get out of erdell's hands and him miss two point of ten for durian but stokes gets his rebound and stokes just off target with the ball and that's gonna be a foul on stokes pettit goes for the rebound and stokes gets into his personal space and lays a hand on him and gets a foul call 19 to 13 pirates lead just seven minutes left in the second quarter and here we go dyer will go in for the pirates as will walters dyer gets it into the lane sparks up floater for two

018up just off target and sparks gets the rebound but steps out of bounds couldn't really control where he was landing there as there's a wildcat player just underneath the basket and he had to go out of bounds to avoid landing on him yeah there's still some good hustle by sparks there yeah that just really shows his heart for the game and his hustle absolutely erdell with the ball at the top of the key uh cummer guarding bolos very tightly here stacy has the ball right now guarded by walters dead ball here walters is getting on there ertl drives down to the lane dishes it out to number 44 44 up and good with the three-point attempt and ball almost batted way by erdell there is the pirates about lose control of it sparks up no

020uh has three now uh with car with for our greensburg pirates we have uh colin with eight lane sparks with nine and stanley with four so um really spreading the points out there for the pirates yeah and here we go bolus one down the ball cummer playing towards the basket side and there's a foul on the floor i believe yeah there's a hold by stanley that'll be his second foul team's fourth or no team's third excuse me here comes pettit end of the game for stanley yeah stanley's been known to get into foul trouble quite early so he's got to watch that yeah and uh there's erdo for another three-point attempt just off target and we're seeing him kind of cool down a little bit here oh and the official calls the ball for the
021wildcats and it appeared from up here that's not the correct call but of course we're not down on the court and can't see eye to eye with the ref here yeah hearing from the crowd they didn't quite like that calling either bolos being guarded tightly by cummer and there's the ball thrown a little too high and dyer gets the uh steel there and there's a foul by bolos on cummer it is 21-16 pirates lead with four minutes and 44 seconds left in the quarter uh pettit pops out to the corner there but the ball gets inbound to down low to comer not so great of a pass there into pettit pettit tried to come for the ball but wasn't able to secure it quite here goes bolos driving goes up off the side of the
022backboard dang sparks gets rejected there and the ball goes out of bounds on the wildcats that'll remain pirates ball ball unbounded the sparks pass to the top of the key to cummer sparks down to pettit pedal looking for the open man and finds sparks sparks with a quick skip pass to dyer dyer down to walters in the lane and there's a bank no pirates can't quite secure the ball and it gets batted around quite a few times and the wildcats come up with it here hasn't been a score here in about oh i'd say two or three minutes no the game definitely cooled off quite a bit for these last few minutes and this could be a low scoring game we're gonna see tonight unless one of the team's lights on fire here after halftime
023there's some quick help defense by walters way to be there for him right place right time and there's a two-point basket by stacy as the wildcats are only three points away in this matchup there's a drive and jump shot by sparks just off target again that's not something we usually see from him no looking at the look on his face he's getting a little disappointed with him and here we go the wildcats making a run back catching up to the pirates 21-20 pirates lead with three minutes left in the half with that basket ertl back up 12 points for the wildcats with the rest of the team having uh eight and the wildcats have a player that's averaging about 22 points per game i believe and that's chad cox but he is not playing tonight
024so that could be a crucial part that the wildcats are missing tonight [Music] here we go should be getting back to the action here pirates hoping to get a get a basket here doesn't matter if it's two or three points they need to increase their lead if they want to stand a chance against the wildcats hot offense right now absolutely with the wildcats having this momentum they uh shortened the lead quite a bit down and i'm sure the pirates are going to get some ball movement here and make sure they get a lot of passes in before they go up well oh that's what we thought i stand corrected i guess there's a three-point attempt up and in by jurian and the wildcats take a 23-21 lead with just under three minutes left pirates appear
025to be a little bit flustered here so not not sure how to handle the pressure i'm kind of hoping they get a basket here and there's a three-point attempt by cummer up and in and he answers back 24-23 pirates lead yeah that was a huge basketball comer they needed that to stay uh to stay in the lead for this game yeah going into halftime the pirates need to have a little bit of lead if they want to have any any chance of winning this game and there's a quick steal by the pirates dyer goes around the back but gets it batted away and the ball is passed around and everybody's on the floor grabbing the ball and i believe it'll go to the pirates dyer will take the ball out for the pirates here and
026here we go sparks going back so is cummer ball gets inbound to the top of the key spark's wide open lack of defense there but he's still off target with his shot you know sparks not having the knight he probably wants but he's gonna have to fight through that and try to play the best he can to help this pirates team yeah absolutely and you can tell by the look on his face he's getting frustrated with himself as well uh you know this usually isn't him anybody that regularly watches knows that lane sparks is a great player and he usually makes all his pretty much all his shots stacy with the ball he's number 44 still not sure of his name we're going to find that out here at halftime for you stokes with the
027ball back to ertl ertl going right here switching over gets the ball batted away by dyer and dyer comes up with it and there's a foul by stokes i believe that might be his second or third foul oh only first foul i was wrong i could have sworn i saw him get a foul earlier 24-23 pirates lead with one minute left here in the second or first half ball getting swung around the perimeter cummer dries dishes it out to walters at the corner walters to dyer dyer with the shot fake dribbles in goes up walter's there for the rebound and gets fouled that'll be two shots for walters as he was in the right place in the right time yeah that's something i've noticed with the pirates as well is that their strength they've gotten
028quite a bit stronger this year compared to uh years prior and they have been using that strength to uh to their advantages and the first one is up and in by walters 25-23 hopefully the pirates can take a three-point lead here there it is there's the three-point lead pirates climbing back on top and with those two uh free throws he is on the board for two points yeah pirates kind of sharing the wealth around here tonight uh just not one player with a numerous amount of points compared to the others it's kind of spread around evenly durian with the ball at the top dribble drives gets stopped stacy trying to find a way into the lane here goes ertl erdl the jury and once again durian using that arm to try to push and get

031very effective with their defense here early into the second half it's been almost a minute and the wildcats haven't been able to find a basket or get even get a shot attempt up for that matter and here's a drive by erdl he's going to be left open and there's a block by stanley pushes it straight into the ground and out of bounds 704 left here in the second half or third quarter rather and there's a timeout called by the wildcats as the pirates put too much pressure on them to get the ball in yeah absolutely it seems like right out of the gate oh it's a five second count actually oh they didn't get the timeout out i guess well good job by the pirates there right out the gate you can tell that the

035up with us free throws first one up and it's in sparks second attempt coming up it's up and it's just off target uh the score is 30 29 wildcats lead with just over five minutes left in this third quarter sparks gets the ball tipped bolos passes the ball to stacy and there's a double dribble from stacy that's a that's a turnover you can't afford in this kind of game just kind of a lazy mishap there pirates hoping to get something working here uh they need it they need it desperately as they were cooking and bacon here and there's an alley-oop from cummer to sparks that was just some great chemistry by uh comer and sparks being showed right there that is and there's another wide open player left open by the pirates you know i'm
036pretty sure he shot four of those i'm pretty sure he has not hit one yet and the ball is batted away by stacy as cummer was trying to drive into lane for two [Music] [Applause] dyer will inbound the bald sparks right under the basket sparks up and just misses it and stacy will get the rebound stanley comes bats the ball out of bounds good hustle by stanley there to try to regain the pirates possession 31-30 pirates lead with four minutes and 25 seconds left in the third quarter now we're seeing this game flip-flopping off a lot here and i'm sure that's due to the wildcats here as they're taking another outside shot and that's in and there's another lead switch [Applause] durian for three pirates looking for an answer here as cummer drives to lane
037has it wide open easy laying for cummer knotted up at 33 with just under four minutes left in the quarter there's a lob pass to ertl ertl driving in but walter's there to stop him and they're saying walters was getting a little too personal with him and they call foul bolos to durian jury into stacy and here we go walters will jump onto the ball side here ertl drives doesn't have the pull-up ready bolos has the pull-up ready though and he misses from outside the arc sparks barreling into the lane gets the and-one for the pirates good drive we see there by sparks is that was all effort and all hustle he was making that basket if it was the last thing he was gonna do yeah that's his 16th on the night so far
038so after that uh second quarter just seems like he's really been uh i think he's he's been on fire since kicked it in gear absolutely uh and that that free throw the three-point play for sparks is good so the pirates will take the 36-33 lead with 3 minutes and 30 seconds left ertl bringing the ball up for the wildcats and the ball is oh almost thrown out of bounds by the wildcats there they regained possession by a nice athletic play by ertl durian driving spins dishes it out to bolos bolo's going for the drive and the pull up off mark and that ball will be batted into the hands of comer and here goes walters the and one for the pirates no he calls it on the floor now i'm no expert but i believe

043point attempt up bounces around just off target yeah with the end of that uh third quarter we have cummer with 14. sparks was 16 stanley with six uh walters with two and then we have gary in with uh six uh stacy with three stokes with two uh ertl with 17 sorry and then 44 with three um i've noticed that whichever way you look at it that second a second quarter i don't know if you agree with this sam but that second quarter what kind of cooled down the pirates and kind of what shrunk the lead or either that or uh the wildcats that's when they heat it up whichever way you look at it but it just seems like the second quarter was kind of the downfall for the pirates you know i'd say it
044was a combination of both the wildcats kind of heated up and the pirates didn't have their defense they were ready to stop them um you know the pirates didn't have to apply that much pressure there in the first quarter and then the wildcats kind of came out and got on fire and the parts weren't sure how to answer and i'm sure that's something coach meyer talked about with him in the locker room was how to apply the pressure and be safe with how they play absolutely because it seems like ever since the second half the pirates have been tied on their defense and just been efficient with the ball again yeah and we haven't we've only seen two fouls from the pirates in the second half here that that shows you that they're playing tight
045defense but they're playing it effectively and efficiently here we go ball and bounded uh cummer there uh passes to stringer then walters got it sparks to stringer down low to walters here we go lots of ball movement here by the pirates there goes a drive-by sparks that's almost a guarantee it's going to go in uh they're going to call that on the floor he wasn't going up i don't believe so yeah that's a number that's another one of those close close calls down but it seems like he's got a one of one yeah he's gonna go to the line anyway because uh we're in the bonus uh the wildcats already have seven fouls first one rattles around the rim and goes in for sparks second attempt for sparks up splash some full court pressure applied

054the wildcats here full time out uh so we have a minute to talk here woods what do you think the pirates need to keep control of in this game to remain on top um their their defense since the start of the second half has been uh quite quite a bit better than around the first and second quarter so i think if they just stay on top of that then they will do just just fine yeah and i also think if they can maybe slow the pace of the game down and maybe quite a bit actually i think they can slow the wildcats down that's what they're getting their baskets off of right now is that dribble drive and pass out or that dribble drive and we lose a man down low and they go up
