They're they're actually RDC has it on their agenda to approve residential tiff for Castle Rock and Park West. Um I haven't looked up yet to see if one of those are in Hanover District, but this will be like the fourth and fifth I think subdivisions. So >> you said Castle Rock >> Park West. Public hearing. >> Public hearing. >> Go ahead. >> Yeah. >> Yes. Thank you. I'd like to welcome everybody to our public hearing for the 2025 additional appropriation.
Uh, the description of our additional appropriation. Uh this December we have an additional appropriation in the education fund for the amount of 800,000 and an additional appropriation in the operations fund in the amount of 300,000. Uh I always explain to the board I do this on an annual basis as an essential essentially as a safeguard uh from me appropriating all the funds that the school corporation has at the beginning of a budget year which the budget is typically passed by the board in October of the previous year. So, uh, rather than me appropriating all the money out, we go through this formal process where we ask the DGF for permission to spend the remainder, uh, of our funds needed to close out, uh, that particular budget year. So, uh, the proofs of publication were posted
in the South Lake County Sun and the Northwest Indiana Times on Thursday, November 20th. At this time, I'll open the floor for public comment. Last call for public comment. Members of the board, anything I can answer for you or Madam President, at this time I'd like to request approval of resolution 2025-26 number 12, additional appropriation resolution. Our first uh action item tonight, I'd like to request approval to transfer budget appropriations between major expenditure accounts. Uh this is an accounting formality process we go through every year to zero out all of our appropriations before we uh do our final reports with our accounting software allow. This will require formal board action. >> I'll make a motion to approve transfer budget appropriations between major and expenditure accounts. Anybody want a second? >> I'll second. >> Comments or questions? Roll call. >> Yes. >> K. Yes. >> Yes. 50 to approve. >> Thank you. Request approval of the 2026 27 high school course changes.

I'll second. >> Comments or questions? >> I will make a comment. very disappointed in the state and the way they are making our teachers fight against each other to try to get something that they all deserve. And um to say that all of our teachers don't deserve it is ridiculous because they all do. >> They deserve way more than what we're able to give them way more than what our state gives them. >> Thank you for saying that. I I think everybody I know everybody here agrees. Um, I really want to commend the work of the committee because it was comprised of teachers and they were very attentive to making this as fair as possible. >> And that's that was hard to do. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yes, it was. Um, so that'll I was waiting
for board approval tonight. That'll go out to the teachers tomorrow and then they can apply, >> which is ridiculous. Roll callates. >> Yes. >> Haskell >> Yes. Felisa, >> yes. >> For move approve. >> Request approval of payment plan of the 2025 teacher appreciation grant award. What is this? to eligible classroom teachers certified staff rated effective or highly effective in 202425. All costs to be paid from the 2025 annual performance grant proceeds. This requires formal board action. >> I'm a little confused. >> Is it just accepting the process? [clears throat] I think is what we're doing, right? Just approving the process. I'll make a motion to approve the 2627 student fees. Anybody [clears throat] want a second? >> Second. >> Comments or discussion? >> Do we have an idea of what these fees are going to generate? >> How much? Yep. >> Approximately 200,000. Uh currently our curricular material
losses are close to 400,000. So this will go a long way. It will not make us whole, but it will go a long way to making us whole in that regard. Uh we continue to lose between 365 and 400,000 every year with regular material losses. So Dr. Maui did a really good job working with our principles to find out uh what consumable material. So these are specific materials to the kids that they're physically consuming and they they have no use after they're they've been consumed. So um I I commend Dr. Maui and our principles for being fair with uh in that regard and this will help us tremendously close the gap in that big shortfall in curricular material costs. So to be clear and I [clears throat] understand the consumable materials, dry erasers, paper, yada
yada yada. This is not inclusive of of any technology piece. >> Did we add tech fees, Phil? >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> Did we add fees. >> Yeah, there are some tech fees. >> Yeah, for software >> on all levels. >> It was in we got a p we got a big pamphlet of all of it. >> Yeah, I know. [clears throat] That could be in the pipeline >> in addition. >> Yes. I don't think it was Chrome. No, >> we charged we charged a fee for Schooly, which is the platform the kids have to use. >> I saw that. >> That's on there. >> Yeah, I went I
went through it. I I I've read it, >> but not the actual crime. >> No, we're not charging for the actual >> and because I know that was a discussion of one of >> But I don't I don't know that we can charge for that. >> Okay. They don't take that. It doesn't become theirs. >> So you got what you're saying is that at some point in the future it's possible we could add a proc rental fee. >> Right. Yeah. >> That was my question. >> Yeah. >> That's not inclusive of this. At some point we could possibly do that. And if the board is interested in doing that, um I could bring that back at the January meeting. >> I I would like that. >> Okay. I'll uh Mr. MCO and I will talk
to Mr. Flank and talk about a rental fee. >> Thank you. That'll that'll also be helpful. I mean already um made a motion in a second. Should we approve this table? >> No, this is this is approval of >> consumable fees. So we should do another. >> Got it. I'll bring that back in January. >> Yeah. The crumbling fees we'll discuss in January. >> Okay. or at least have a discussion on >> have a discussion on >> relevant at this time. Correct. >> Okay. >> All right. Roll call. >> Yes. Melissa. >> Yes. 50. >> Thank you. Um due to the fact that we only have one board meeting this month, I ask the board's permission to wave the first reading. So, um, please feel free to ask any questions should you have any. I'm
requesting, uh, approval of revised policy 3220 on staff evaluations, revised policy 3220.01 on teacher appreciation grant, and revised policy 3231 on outside activities of staff. >> And those require formal board action. I'll make a motion for the revised policy 3220 32201 and then 3231. Anybody want a second? I'll second comments or discussion. [cough] >> Roll call. >> Yes. >> Verdan, >> yes. >> Haskell, >> yes. >> Kwin, yes. Melissa, >> yes. >> Board is voted 50 to approve. >> Thank you. Comments or discussion? >> Roll call. >> Beli, >> yes. >> Verdan, >> yes. >> Haskell, >> Yes. Melissa, >> yes. 50 to approve. >> Our final action item tonight. I'd like to request approval of the following donations. Letter A, a donation of $500 to the Hannover Central High School drama department by the class of 2027. And nobody is signed up to discuss anything that's not on the agenda or have anything to discuss. >> Scott, looking at it, schooly is the only thing that's tech related that's on the list. So that's it. As [clears throat] the board knows, um I am retiring at the end of this year [clears throat] but I just want to take this opportunity to formally announce it so it's on record. Um and
I'd like to thank the board for the opportunity to serve this district and the kids and the staff. Uh this is a phenomenal place and it has been an absolute privilege to work. So that's all I have to say about that. >> Thank you very much. >> You'll be missed to film. >> You don't want to stay around another year for a referendum. >> Yeah, >> we should just throw another referendum. >> Yeah, let's just do another. >> You got practice. >> I appreciate all your support. [snorts] >> Anything else? I I hope staff and students have a good Christmas break. Obviously, we're going to have snow for Christmas. >> Yeah, we will. [laughter] >> All right. Who wants to make a motion to adjourn? >> I guess I will. >> It's routine. >> I
guess I'll make a motion to adjourn. >> Nobody else wants
