meeting for a handover for November 11, 2025. If everyone can stand for the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. here. >> Fan >> here. >> Cas >> here. >> Kuzman here. Melissa >> here. >> All right. Um, nobody has signed up for comments or discussion relative to items on the agenda. I would like to approve the agenda. I make a motion. >> A motion to approve the agenda. >> Any second? >> I'll second. >> Comments or discussion? Roll call. >> Yes. >> Banan. >> Yes. >> Ask. >> Yes. [cough] >> Yes. or fit to approve >> under. We don't have any administrative

reports tonight. >> Okay. Any board reports? >> I do have one from St. John Redevelopment um on December 10th. Um, this letter that they gave me says 10:00 a.m., but the email that we received said 6:00 pm. Um, they are adding on or voting on another residential tiff area for handover school district. So, I'm planning on going and talking. I would love if anybody else who can would go. Um, I'm going to start posting it on social media because we need to pack the room because this will be the third one I think in our district. There's one they did did three others. One of them is Lake Central. They already did two for us. It's just it takes funds away from our school district when they do this. And after I received the letter,

Mrs. Haskell, a follow-up letter came. So, which time is it? >> It's the later time. the 6 pm. >> Yeah. The email that I received, the time got changed from 10:00 a.m. to 6 pm. >> That's what I got, too. >> December 10th at 6:00 p.m. >> And and I hope the St. John community gets the community involved because they're not realizing how much taxes they're taking away from the school district, the library, the township, and the county. It's >> I know it's beneficial for the taste and fire takes it from every municipality. >> Yeah. >> St. John is just abused the district like no other. >> It's not meant for towns like St. John. >> Towns that need both. >> Correct. That don't have developments and they want a development person to come in

to develop homes while St. John is annexing landing because they're already full. they don't need to do it, but the developers are using the TIP funds for their developments, for their infrastructure, and I don't think funds should be taken away from the school district for that. So, that's all I have on that. Thank you. Underformational tonight, we have several board policies. First board policy is replacement policy 8500 on the food service program. This policy has been revised to be consistent with applicable federal laws and regulations and to incorporate the content of board policy 8540 on vending machines. This will be brought back to the next meeting. Revised policy 8510 is the wellness policy. This policy has been revised to ensure compliance with current federal laws and regulations regarding nutrition and to include non-discrimination provisions required

by federal law. Any questions on that board policy revised policy 9150 on school visitors. This policy has been revised to include a cross reference replacement policy for schools and law enforcement agencies. Questions? Revised policy 9160. This policy has been revised to address live streaming by persons attending school events and to provide allocation of tickets or cards that offer free or reduced price admission to certain staff or community members. Revised policy 0142. This is a bylaw, excuse me, not policy. This has been amended to incorporate statutory changes made by House Enrolled Act 287, in particular the partisan election requirements and to change the minimum age to serve as a board member, which is now 18 revised, excuse me, reviews, revised bylaw 0144.1 compensation. This bylaw has been revised to update the annual amount payable for services

as a school board member. And the last revised by law is bylaw 0167.2. This has been revised to incorporate amendments made by House Enrolled Act regarding what can be discussed in executive session. Are there any questions? Thank you. Under action items tonight, request approval of the 2520 through 27 [clears throat] handover organization of professional educators master agreement. This requires formal board action. >> Anybody like to make a motion? >> Do we need to wait for public comment before we make a motion or I mean I know nobody's here for public comment but >> no. >> I'll make a motion. Anybody want a second? >> I'll second. >> Any comments or discussion? >> Yeah, I do. I realize no one's here, but I don't care because I want it on record. Um, you know, when we

went into these negotiations, we were trying to pass referendum. We're down 34 kids. That cut us roughly a quarter of a million dollars. And we've got Senate Bill One hanging over our head just like the rest of the world. And with all that, which is not the ideal economic landscape, it would have been very easy to say there's nothing to negotiate, there's no funds to give out. But I really want to commend our administration, you guys, because that wasn't an option for you. I think that >> that shows the value that is placed on the staff and was how can we do something? Not ever if we would do something. I think I've been here long enough and dealt with enough union leaders that have made it an us against them, which has never been

the case, but still they like to frame it that way sometime. This group wasn't like that. >> The union was fantastic with realizing that we were in this together. I I thought they did a great job. And I really want to commend Mr. Mintth because in this economic climate, anybody less talented than him is pushing the numbers, this contract doesn't happen. And so I just want to say, you know, thank you to you guys for your commitment. You did an excellent job. >> Thank you very much for those comments and I'd like to thank the board equally. Um, first of all, Mrs. Haskell, Mr. Berdane, you both uh attended some of those sessions. Uh, I thought I agree it was so posit this year and the staff is well aware of Senate Bill One and

the fear that's associated with that. So I know the staff is very appreciative and I'm very appreciative to the board for recognizing how much hard work our staff. >> Roll call. >> Yes. >> Banan. >> Yes. Has >> yes. Melissa, >> yes. >> The board is for 50 to approve. >> Thank you very much. Uh, second action item for tonight is request approval of the 2526 administrators and directors evaluations and salary increases. This requires formal board action. >> I'd like to make a motion to approve the 202526 administrator and directors evaluations and salary increases. Anybody want a second? >> I'll second. Comments or discussion? >> Calli, >> yes. >> Abstain, >> yes. >> Kuzman, >> yes. >> 4 Z. >> Our third action item tonight. I'd like to request approval to apply for the fall

0102025 common school loan in the amount of $276,800 for Hannover Community School Corporation Educational Technology. Uh specifically, this will be for wireless access points, network switches, and Chromebooks. All that will go to support our onetoone technology that we have across the corporation. Uh the loan, as all of our common school uh technology loans, will be for 1% over a term of five years. So very about the best financing you can get out there for that type of product. So this will require formal board action. >> Anybody want to make a motion? >> A motion to approve the common school loan. >> I want a second. >> I'll second. >> Comments or discussion. [snorts] Roll call. >> Yes. >> Banana. >> Yes. >> Has >> yes. Ka. Yes. Melissa. >> Yes. For five of approval. Thank

you. The last action item for tonight is to request approval of the handover Edge Excellence in Digital Global Education Virtual School beginning in the 2627 school year. Um, I'd also like to commend Mrs. Belfi who mentioned this idea. Um, I think it's a very good idea. I I know I know a couple kids who are in the whole program. They like it. So, the traditional school isn't isn't for everybody. >> No, it's not. Anybody want to make a motion? >> I'll make a motion to approve. I'll second. Any other comments or discussion? >> I'd like to say thank you, Phil, and Mary for doing so much work to make this happen and give our kids yet another opportunity. I'd like to commend Phil too. He's really putting a lot of work on this. >> Thank

you. Thanks. >> Okay. Can I just say virtual school will never replace good teaching in the classroom, but for whatever reason, anxiety, flexibility, things that happen in famil family's lives. I feel like this is a good second option for kids. Just wanted to say that. >> And get to keep them as a wild cat. And yes. Roll call. >> Peli, >> yes. >> Verdan, >> yes. >> Has >> Yes. Melissa, >> yes. >> Thank you. >> All right. We have nobody signed up for comments, discussion on things not on the agenda. Um, board of trustees comments. Um, I would like to say thank you to everybody who worked hard on the referendum and it passed. Thank you to everybody who voted. Every single one of them. A little over 3,000 that voted. Yes. Um it's

helpful. I'm sure a lot of people, bus drivers, I know a lot of teachers were thankful because my phone was off the hook all night long. But it's a good thing. School, very good thing. >> A little scary at first. It >> was It was scary. >> It was very scary. >> Yeah. I would like to commend everybody's work, too. I mean, that that's a heavy lift and it's also a heavy side when it's accomplished. >> And Andy for helping us again. I mean, he did so much. >> He is coming to the next board meeting uh for accommodation. You're right. >> Deserving. Very deserving. >> So much. >> But and I I get it. I get how he feels. these kids went through the system and they, you know, every kid should continue getting

any kind of program or anything that we can have for them. So, I'm sure I speak for every board member that we're glad we don't have to make any of those tough decisions that we would have had to make if it went fast. >> Absolutely. >> And the snow day went off without a hitch. >> Good. Good. >> Learning went so great. >> Except for e-learning went good. >> Yes. And what >> except for my back from shovel [laughter] >> I'm sure parents were very happy to see that email come through at 4:30 in the morning too instead of actual later. >> Well, you had been up for an hour and a half. [laughter] >> Where is two cups of coffee in? >> Yeah. >> It's like half the day is gone. Why call it

now? [laughter] start shoveling. >> I I just have to ask, did you have that in Illinois? >> Yeah. >> Okay. That's just as bad. >> We had e-learning. No, it wasn't as bad, but the farther west was >> I think we won, didn't we? According to the news, we won. Is >> that what it was? >> Yeah, it felt like that. >> It absolutely. Okay. >> Any other comments? Yeah, I'd like to thank Mary, too. I I think it could have been easy to push the referendum. That's a lot of hard work and commitment off to the future, and she decided to take that on. Um, >> one last referendum, >> one last go around. >> Just wanted to do it one more time. >> Greatly. [laughter] >> You were the champion one more time.

So, >> thanks. >> All right. Anybody want to make a motion to adjurnn? I'll make a motion to adjurnn. All agree say I.
