Mhm. >> Mhm. >> to work at central office at daily rate. Her actual contract will begin July 1st, but it is an unfilled position right now, so we would take Mrs. Dyer at when she's available. We also mentioned that I know that she needs a little time, little down time, little family time. It's It's been a It's been a long year when you're a principal, and so we respect that. And when Bree is ready to begin director of HR and assimilating, we're going to open her with or we're going to welcome her with open arms. So, Mr. Peters, any comments you would like to make on Bree? Well, I'm excited. Um Bree has done an excellent job as the principal at Flint Springs. Um I think of of words like precision, personalization, every student every
day, love of kids, calm, calm as power attitude and demeanor that she has as she works her staff and parents. Um organized. Um couldn't be prouder of her and the what she's accomplished at Flint Springs. And I'm excited for her with a new challenge and a new opportunity. So excited um to use her skill set in a larger area for our district. So, congratulations. Thank you, Mr. Peters. Thank you, Mr. Brimberry. I'll entertain a motion reference this agenda item. I make a motion to approve Re Dyer as Director of Human Resources for Ronnie County Schools. Thank you, Mr. Wall. Is there a second? Second. Thank you, Mrs. Miller. Any further questions or comments before we vote? Hearing none, we'll vote on the motion. The motion passes 5-0. Congratulations, I think. Um Mrs. Dyer. Please come
up and uh say a few words if you would. Thank you. I will be relying heavily on my notes because I've had many rehearsals in front of my uh family and I have struggled to get through without getting emotional. So, uh and I I have Mr. Peters on backup just in case. And emotions not because I'm not excited uh for a new opportunity, but also sad because when you've spent 6 years um in the role that you've had giving a lot and building the team there, uh it's going to be a hard change. So, I want to sincerely thank the board uh for the trust and confidence you placed in me with this appointment of HR Director. While I recognize that I still have a lot to learn uh as I grow into this role,
I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our district in a new capacity. I don't take this opportunity lightly or this this responsibility lightly, and I'm committed to leading with integrity, humility, and a willingness to learn from those around me. To my family, thank you for being here outside of Wells, who I just learned is pitching right now, which is a whole another anxious component. Uh thank you to have my husband Derek for supporting me in whatever career that I've pursued. Thank you for always challenging my thought process to ensure that I'm confident in my decision, and thank you to Reeves and Wells, who've had to experience me both as their mom and their principal the last 6 years. I know they've not always gotten the best of me in the mom role when the
principal role unintentionally takes priority at times. To our Flint Springs family, this is the part that I always have to stop at. I want to acknowledge and apologize that I wasn't able to share this personally ahead of time, which has been very difficult. I wholeheartedly respect and care for each of you and was asked to honor the hiring process and not share anything until after this approval. I value the relationships and the trust that we've built together, and I understand that transitions can bring emotions as well as questions. Please know how thankful I am for you and for the work that you put in every day for our Flint Springs students and families. It takes everyone, and after field day today, it takes everyone. You can be assured that I will always send my well
wishes to you in the future because you are the true difference makers. Again, thank you to the board, the interview committee, Mrs. Babcock, Mr. Brimberry. While change is hard and different, I'm looking forward to serving the district in this new role, and I I truly have a peace that's the right opportunity for our family. Thank you. Thank you, Mrs. Dyer. >> [applause] >> Thank you, Bri. After our meeting concludes, if you could uh hang around so we can get pictures with you with the board and your family, please. Sure. Thank you. Uh we'll move on to item C2, recommendation for HNHS assistant principal. Board action item tonight, um very, very proud to support Dr. Diggs' recommendation for assistant principal at Huntington North of Jamie Craft. Uh and uh we're excited. I know that she used
to be a administrator at Huntington North. I know she currently coaches there as well, and that is a a huge addition to Dr. Diggs' staff. I know he's very excited about that. Um Jamie has been successful in everything she's been a part of and will continue to do so. Uh the greatest indicator of future behavior is one's past history, and um Mrs. Craft has um served Roanoke extremely well. Previously served Huntington North, I am told, very well as uh as well, and excited, I know Dr. Diggs, to uh add uh that to his team at Huntington North. Uh after your vote, I know that uh either Dr. Diggs or Mr. Peters has something to read. Jamie is, of course, working tonight. Uh so I know they will read that on her behalf. So our recommendation
for action item assistant principal Huntington North is uh Jamie Craft. Thank you, Mr. Wimberly. I will entertain a motion for this agenda item. So moved. Thank you, Mr. Thompson. Is there a second? Second. Thank you, Mr. Wall. Any questions or comments before we vote? Hearing none, let's vote on that motion. >> That motion passes 5-0. Thank you so much, Mrs. Craft. Dr. Diggs, thank you, too. You better say something really nice. Before Russ shares um about Jamie, I'll tell you what, of of all the administrators, staying ahead of Jamie was one of the toughest things I've ever done in my position. She You talk about Energizer Bunny, enthusiastic, positive, high level of energy that she brings, does whatever it takes, that mindset uh for her staff, students, and uh her community. And uh again, models
that every student every day and strives for excellence each day. And so, uh it's been a pleasure, honor to to work with her as well. And uh we'll miss her in the elementary ranks, but so excited for her new challenge. Thank you. And because of her work tonight, unfortunately, I am reading on her behalf. It would have been much better for her to be here, but as is Mrs. Craft, she is right where she should be, celebrating with her fifth grade families. I will tell you as a team at Huntington North High School, we could not be more thrilled and excited. We also understand the bittersweet part of the equation is our friends at Roanoke are going to be disappointed. Um but I know the group will work hard to find the the next leader
there to lead the Roanoke uh Elementary School. And so, I'm going to read a statement on Mrs. Craft's behalf that does explain a little bit of her absence tonight, and also some of her sentiments as um she accepts this new position. Dear HCCS School Board members, Mr. Bramberry, Mr. Peters, Dr. Diggs, I would like to sincerely apologize for not being able to attend the board meeting this evening. Tonight, I am at Roanoke Elementary for our fifth grade celebration night. This is an important event honoring our fifth grade students and families as they prepare for the transition to middle school. As principal, I felt it was important for me to be present to support and celebrate our students during this special occasion. I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to have served as principal
at Roanoke Elementary for the past 7 years. The team we have at Roanoke is absolutely top-notch. I look forward to cheering them on and continue to excellence, but will miss them more than words can describe. Thank you for your confidence in me as we as encouraging and guiding the students and staff of HCCS is something I am honored to do. I am so grateful for all that God has blessed me with and I look forward to returning to Huntington North High School in a new role. Thank you for your understanding, Jamie Craft. Thank you, Dr. Daggett. And congratulations to Mrs. Craft. Um we're going to move on to item C3, recommendation for HCCS and Kenneth Hanson contracted services agreement for June of 2026. Um Mr. Allen and board, just because I know lots of questions
will come in before I get to number three on the process uh to fill these two wonderful leaders at uh Flint Springs and Roanoke. Um Ms. Brown, our director of teaching learning, will be uh assembling a interview committees uh with um leaders from each of the buildings as well as community members. And our hope is that uh after posting that uh the interview committee will make a selection and bring forward, I would love that to be by the end of June. We'll see how that plays out, but just communicating the same message important when you have two um very important roles to fill. So, uh on the item C3, Mr. Allen, uh for action item tonight, um I am absolutely thrilled that we've been working. I want to thank Mrs. Gray and Joe Wiley as
well with North Miami schools. As Mr. Hanson leaves there as superintendent working with Huntington, we have of course would love him to be here each day. It's an unfilled position that requires an awful lot of attention and work and I wanted to be cognizant of North Miami schools as well. So the contract of services you have will say up to 20 days. There are 22 work days in June. I believe it will probably end up 15 days here and 7 days at North Miami, but Joe Wiley wrote that up to up to 20. Be daily rate. He will begin his actual contract on July 1, but I will tell you I appreciate North Miami working with us and also looking forward to getting Mr. Hanson here. We have a very busy summer ahead of us.
So that is the action item on C3. Thank you, Mr. Wimberly. I'll entertain a motion reference this item. Motion to approve uh the HCCS and Kenneth Hanson contract service agreement June 2026 as presented. Thank you, Mr. Melcher. I'll take a second. Second. Thank you, Mrs. Miller. Any further questions or comments before we vote? Just say Mr. Wimberly, we're checking some boxes here. Mr. Allen, we are just thrilled with the team we put together and looking forward to the summer to to get our team together and and start getting prepared for next school year. Any further comments? Then let's vote on the motion. >> That motion passes 5-0. Um please pass along to Mr. Hansen we're looking forward to working with him. >> Thank you. I will. And moving on to item D1, items of discussion
by board members. Anybody got anything they'd like to add before we adjourn? So, just making sure Mrs. Gray has it covered when we go Mr. Melchert pointed out and I am confirming I don't see the vote that happened on C2 in our side. Oh. Well, some of us are seeing it some of us are not. I'm assuming that that may be gremlins left over from the up- update. I [snorts] just knowing that we did vote and affirm, I just want to make sure it got registered. That's all that I was making up. Cool. Rock on. Um Two of the three over here didn't get it, so we're good. That might have been intentional, might not have been. I don't know. No idea. Maybe it's cuz we we made the motion. Um but I did want
to say I want to congratulate the class 2026 that we're going to deal with on Sunday. Um to me that is one of the best parts of being a school board member is to hand those diplomas to those students as they come across the stage and the look in their eyes as they come across to take that. It is priceless. It is something that I look forward to every year. Um but I want to commend Dr. Diggs for I know it's going to be a great event. You always put on a great event, so I continue for that and thank everyone that's going to be involved in that on Sunday because there's nothing better to do for those students when we get out and do that. So, I look forward to that and hope to
see everyone there on Sunday. I can't wait. Me, too. Anything else? I will entertain a motion to adjourn. So moved. Thank you, Mr. Wall. Is there a second? Thank you, Mr. Melcher. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Those opposed? We adjourn.
