There's uh no public comment. We'll start off with curriculum and testing with Mr. Stana. >> Just to give an update, our teachers have done a great job with uh going

through textbooks. Uh we finalized it down to two uh companies at the elementary levels and middle school has two uh representatives coming in this week and high school um they have what they would like. So once everything is together I'll bring I'll check with Chris to see if we can afford it and then bring it to you guys for approval. Um goal is uh either right before or right after spring break so we have time to get these ordered and get them in the teachers hands by the end of the year so they can look at them take them home over the summer I got thank you >> have two items high school uh HVAC project started today uh we have people in the building are working on the controls and I'll be working on

controls for around a year is how long that that part of it takes but the project is is going. Um, other thing March 3rd will be a bid opening for the intermediate HBAC project. That includes the controls at the intermediate school, the chiller at the intermediate school and also valves at our middle school, which makes it into more than one zone, right? When they plum that the heating, it's all one big loop and it should have been done in separate loops. So, that will take care of that. But part of that project I know is also they have the draining system this summer. So there'll be time this summer being uh air. Some legislative updates. Uh last week I had an opportunity to go to the Indiana rural schools legislative day and meet with a

few uh senators as well as representatives. Uh a few items of note is House Bill 1210. Uh that is dealing with the lit fund and that was supposed to expire. Schools, other government organizations were stop at the end of 26 and they've extended that for another year. So that's a positive thing. Um also Senate Bill 78 dealing with cell phones. Looks like that's going to go through and limiting student use of cell phones. Right now, it's in during the class period, but what this bill is looking at doing is kids cannot be on their cell phone any part during any part of the school day. There was also a a piece of legislation in there that was vague that um made it the school's responsibility to safely lock a cell phone up. And that has

been taken away. Uh so the student parent would be responsible which is in our handbook currently. And then Senate Bill 199 um is supposed to help with social media uh dealing making sure the child is 16 years or older uh before they get on social media. And as we all know that is social media is a an area that causes a lot of conflicts for a lot of schools after hours that it's brought into the school day with that. As Chris talked about the HVAC systems, uh we do as we as you approve tonight, we do have a lot of projects going on. high school roof, Deont Elementary roof, uh this water project, uh and then that HVAC system that will take one year at the high school, then the middle school air will be

off at the high school for four to six weeks and it's going to be off at the middle school as well as Chris reported. So, we're going to our athletic teams. Back years ago, we didn't have air conditioning, right? So, uh, that's going to play into that as well as some of the other groups that have, um, that are planning on using our facility. >> But are they in the high school and doing HBAC right now? >> That's the wiring part of >> inside. Do they do background checks and everything? >> Yes, they do. >> Yeah. Yes. Any anybody that comes on school property from another employer, they >> I didn't know how that would work. >> Yep. We do criminal background checks on them. It's done for >> before they even started. >> And

then Margaret keeps all those on file. Okay. >> Yes. And then they have a badge that identifies them if they're out out. >> Oh, so all the workers have badges. Oh, right. >> Yes. >> I didn't know that. >> Yep. >> Um, are we concerned about the new floor at >> Yes, we are. >> We are concerned. Uh we talked about fans and monitoring uh that during the summer. So they're telling us four to six weeks, but we're really hoping that it will be a shorter period of time. So we uh Margaret's working on some plans for that. The server room with the computers will has a separate air conditioning unit. So the servers will be okay. >> It's just the the heat, the humidity throughout the other parts of the building. Uh the Indiana

School Boards Association regional meeting uh if we if you if we attend District 1 is April the 7th up at Maraveville. So you can let me know in March about that. We could uh get registered if you wish to attend. So those are the items that we have for our work session. Any questions or items for us for work session? Okay sir. >> And we could adjourn the work session. Thank you.
