Our mission is to guide students to become informed, engaged citizens and curious lifelong learners. >> And Jill, could you do the students of the month? >> Yes. So when I call your name, if you could come forward and stand up here and face the crowd, I will read what your teacher wrote about you and then I have a certificate for you when I'm done. So we're going to start with Savannah Kales from Damont Elementary. >> Come all the way

002up here. and you can turn around and face. There you go. So, Savannah is a hardworking student who comes to school ready to learn and always does her best. Savannah is already reading and continues to grow as a learner. She is kind, positive, and super sweet. She truly goes above and beyond to include others. Savannah cheers on her classmates and helps make our classroom a joyful place to be. Her kindness and leadership do not go unnoticed. Savannah's parents are doing a wonderful job raising such a thoughtful and caring child. We are proud of her. Congratulations. >> This is for you. 003second quarter. He was very shy and nervous about coming to a school and being in a new class. With time and great perseverance, he started picking up routines, making friends, and even coming into school on his own. Grayson continues to listen, follow direction, and works hard to complete his work to the highest of expectations. Grayson has shown that he can do difficult things and persevere. Being a model kindergarten student, Mrs. Aubbering is very proud of you, Grayson. 004student of the month. Olivia is an outstanding student and is liked by staff and students. She is very creative and was recently recognized by Young Writers USA for an entry she submitted. Her story will be published in the April edition of Stranger Saga's epic tales. We hope this will encourage her to continue to be creative and take advantage of these types of opportunities in life. We are proud of Olivia and are glad to have her represent our school as student of the month. >> Who did you bring with you? >> Great. >> At the high school, we have Jarrett Allen for language arts. How about Erilyn Acriman for mathematics? >> Erin's motivation, positive attitude, and interest have been very apparent since the start of the semester. She has been a great pleasure for me to

Without question, these are characteristics that have made a positive impression on me and I strongly believe that this is something that should be recognized and honored. Congratulations. Now, uh TSA is the technology student association and CTSO is the career technical student organization as and she represents uh KV and the organization as the Indiana State Reporter. So, nice state office there. So, congratulations. We appreciate her being at the state house. And congratulations to the KV Lady Cougars basketball team on being named and winning the 2026 IHSAA Girls Sectional 18 Championship. They play at 3 PM Central in the regional versus Fairfield on Saturday at Winnamak High School. Resignations. 011really good. All right, we back on. Okay, Mr. Spana, curriculum and testing. >> Just a couple things. Uh our WEDA testing for our ELLL students is just about done. Um ELLL staff has done a tremendous job. They do every year getting that done. Um so good job to them. Textbook adoption u at the elementary levels. We've had uh two textbook companies coming in. So, it's going to be some decision making here with the elementaryaries over the next week or so. Um high school has kind of made their decision on what they would like. So, I'm getting quotes from them and then middle school um is finalizing. So, the teachers and the administrators have done a good job on trying to find something that's going to work um for our ELA and then kindergarten registration. Um

012it's it's moving along. We met again today to try to finalize some things. So, that's Tracy and David. A lot of great input from them. Kathy Bunts um because she's on the front lines and we'll have her and Amanda at the Wheatfield will have to do a lot of that uh paperwork. Um and then Shannon and Obie at uh the um in the IT department, they've all been a great help. Um so hopefully by this Friday we'll have something out. The game plan is uh mid March to have a flyer or a postcard going out. Um, at that time flyers will be delivered to the preschools and then uh it'll open up April 1st where they can do everything and hopefully it'll all be online. The goal was to make it one day or night

Um couple projects. Uh the water project went out to bid last week. We'll have a bid opening coming up on February 17th. And the intermediate school chiller and controls along with the part of that job is also a valve replacement at the middle school. The that project will go out to bid on Thursday and we'll have bid openings on March 3rd. Several projects we have underway. All we have tonight. >> Any questions for Chris or Mike? Legislation session at this point in time. Bills of that passed in the House or the Senate. They have crossed aisles now. So they're those are in

014committee and discussing them. Uh next week the rural schools association will have a uh a meeting down to state house to have an opportunity to possibly meet with legislators. So I'll be heading down there to do that and trying to do some lobbying for for Cana Key Valley. Those are all the items we have for the work session. You have any items for us at this time? Okay.
