It be 7 o'clock. Would you please rise and repeat the pledge of allegiance with me? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, justice for all. All right. Um, there were no signups for public comments. So, at this time, turn the meeting over to Dr. Kirker. All right. Thank you, Mr. President, or Mr. Vice President, excuse me. Good evening, everybody, and thank you for those of you joining us here in the community room for our monthly schoolboard meeting. And those that are watching online, welcome, and we're glad to have you as well. We'll go ahead and get into the business portion of our meeting. We have our consent agenda and the items under the consent agenda this

evening are the approval of the minutes, financial and fiscal information, extracurricular resignations and hirings and we have donations. And if I could take just a moment to talk about the donations uh that I'm going to ask our board this evening to accept. We have for Bailey school there's a donation of $153 from Costco workshop giving campaign at Edison for the fax department or as people sometimes refer to homec my generation refers to that as home economics. Uh, Donor's Choose is donating $528.34 in kitchen equipment for the high school. And for Hamilton School, the Hamilton PTO is donating $200 to the staff fund. The Lake County Public Library is donating $70 to the Hamilton Library and Casey's General Store is donating $4140 for the student fund. And finally, the American Income Life is donating $56 to

Hamilton School. So, we really appreciate all of those organizations for making their donation to our school districts and our individual schools this evening. With that, at this time, I'd like to recommend to the board that they approve the consent agenda as presented this evening. Courtesy superintendent's recommendation. Well, it's the board's pleasure. I'll make a motion. Second. Any discussion? Um, I just thank you to all the people donating whether it's, you know, actual just money for a program or donating the equipment. Every little bit helps. So, thank you for everyone who did that. I agree. Thank you for your donations. Discussion. Thank you for your donations. Take the vote. Mr. Belts I. Mr. Music. I. And I vote I. By the way, we're missing two board members, right? They couldn't make up for personal reasons. This

will be a quick meeting. Moving on to items under personnel. Item number one, I am recommending to the board that they accept the resignations of our following staff members. Cynthia Mcnite, Jamie Wolverton, Van Blimeman, Andrea Defeir, Liz O'risco, and Bailey Lorson. A motion. I'll make a motion to approve the resignations. Second the motion. Any discussion? Um, I would just like to wish all of them good luck. I know everyone's uh you know got different life situations going on right now and you know the lot of people on this list here did a lot of good things for our schools and I really appreciate their time here and everything that they did. Um special shout out to Liz a Prrisco because she was a huge help during our referendum renewal. Um really appreciated everything she did

and uh I'd also like to express some appreciation for Cynthia Mcnite. I know my my kids uh loved her. So, uh, good luck to all of you, though. I'd like to jump on that same bandwagon. Um, like to thank all the teachers for all their hard work here, but like he said, Cindy Mcnite was our teachers union rep and had a lot had a chance to work with her a lot and she's definitely going to be missed. I really liked Mrs. Mcnite. Um, we had a good working relationship with her with the union and uh, she's great teacher. She going to be missed. And Liz, again, I had a chance to work with her on the referendum. She just went above and beyond everything for the referendum. She was the hardest worker probably on the

referendum and uh and I think she was very important in raising our reading skills in our elementaryaries too and so she's surely going to be missed and uh what happens if we vote no. Well, that's a nice honorarium, but I'm afraid that they're they have moved on. Any other discussion? Thank you for your service to the school community and uh my best wishes to you. Second, Mr. Phillips. I music. I vote I. Thank you, Mr. Vice President. Moving on to item two. I'm recommending this evening to the board that they approve the following for hiring. Miss Casey Broski, second grade at Bailey. Miss Deanna Gzma, fourth grade at Bailey. Teresa Newbert, fifth grade at Hamilton. Rebecca Terry is the new elementary music teacher. Miss Taylor Collins as a homebound teacher for special needs students. And

finally, Mr. Patrick Dver, junior senior high school physical education. I would recommend to the board of hiring these individuals this evening. Have a motion. I make the motion. Second. Motion a second. Any discussion? Very none. We'll take it to a vote. Mr. Phillips. Hi. Mr. Mut. Hi. And I vote I. Motion passes. Congratulations. We have someone in the audience here today. Welcome. We're glad you're with us. Welcome to the family. Going on to item number three under personnel. I recommend to the board that we hire the following non-certified staff. Christine Barnes to be the library clerk at Bailey Elementary School and Patricia Green, paraprofessional at Hamilton School. And Christine Barnes is in the audience this evening. I'll make a motion to approve the hiring of the non-certified staff. Motion. We have a second. I'll second.

Motion a second. Any discussion? Again, welcome. Take the vote. Mr. Phillips. I. Mr. Music. I. And I vote I. Motion passes. Item number four, I'm recommending to the board that they approve the hiring of the following to work on our summer crew. And that is Tammy Hogard, Kathleen Worth, and Kim Sono. And these three individuals have also worked for us in our summer crew in the past. So, they've done a good job for us. Make a motion. I'll make a motion to approve the hiring of the summer work crew. I'll second a second. Any discussion? Mr. Bips. I. Mr. Musk. I and I vote I. Moving on to items under new business. Uh and this is an information item only. So the board will be taking no action on this item this evening. But I'm

asking the board to accept the first reading of the revised and updated schoolboard policies volume 37 number two. and also copies of those policies are up on the table where the agendas were as well. So, I'm asking the board to review them for first reading, but we will not take any official action on these policies until next month at the July board meeting. Following that, we have two facility requests. I am recommending that the board approve both of these facility requests. The first one coming from the Indiana Dogs baseball team to use our school baseball field for practices and games uh starting June the 4th and ending in August 2025 before the school year starts. And the second facility request is from the civil air patrol to use the community room, the gym, the track

when available starting August the 8th, 2025 through June 2nd, 2026 on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30. And this has been an organization that has used our school facilities uh for several years and they've done a nice job with the students that they work with and with their program and being very respectful of our school facilities and using our facilities. In fact, the Clifter Orchoo, the major of that organization, usually attends this board meeting when we approve his use of our facilities, but is unable to be here this evening due to some medical procedure on his knee that he had taken care of. So, we wish Victor good and a speedy recovery uh so he can get back to the civil air patrol program starting in the fall. And with that, I'm recommending that

the board approve both of these facility requests under one motion and one second and one vote. Dr. Winner motion on the two items. I'll make a motion to approve the facility requests. I'll second motion. A second. Any discussion? Vote. Mr. Phillips. I. Mr. Music. I. And I vote I. Motion passes. Mr. Vice President, I have no further business to come before the board this evening except to remind everyone that our next regularly scheduled school board meeting will be Wednesday, July 16th. You're here at Edison Junior Senior High School starting at 7 p.m. Thank you. Mr. Bill, you got any parting comments before we wrap this up? No. Thanks for uh thanks for everybody coming out and watching online. Mr. Music, um just uh welcome aboard. I know obviously we have a couple of them here

in the audience. Deanna, is that the right way to pronounce it? Okay. Um, and then of course Christine as well. So, welcome aboard. I appreciate you all coming out for the meeting as well. Um, everyone else that isn't here but that's joining the team, welcome aboard. We really appreciate that. Um, and uh, I think that's about it. Thank you everyone. I too would like to welcome the two of you to our to our family. Um, glad glad you're coming on board. I'd like to thank the two principles for showing up for every meeting every time. Well, thank you for being here. Um, besides that, um, some of the teachers that are retiring, it's not too late to change your mind, Liz. Anyway, we're going to miss the the retiring teachers. So, that's all I have

this time. And, uh, thank you for coming. Uh, Miss Pa, do you have anything? Uh, just welcome to the new hires and uh, hope everyone's enjoying their summer. Dr. I have two announcements I'd like to make this evening. Uh first of all, I would like to remind everybody in our community that the annual Veterans Day Festival is going on this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday at Riverview Park. Uh the gates open at noon. So, it's a family event. So, we invite you to come up and take part in that uh very wonderful event uh honoring our veterans and our current military servicemen and women. So, come and be a part of that. That'll be a lot of fun this coming weekend. The second announcement I have is I'm sure everyone by this time is aware

that city hall had a major water pipe burst and flooded the entire first floor of city hall. So, we have extended an invitation to our city mayor to use our community room to conduct city council meetings, board of works meetings, redevelopment commission meetings, and uh any other type of meetings that they would need conducted in a regular monthly basis. and I have been informed that they would like to use our community room next Thursday for their city council meeting at 700 p.m. So, we will be hosting them next Thursday in this room. So, if you're available to come, if your schedules permit, it is an open meeting and they would like uh to invite you to attend, but instead of going to city hall, come here. And that's next Thursday. And that's all I have

for this evening. Anybody else have anything before we adjourn the meeting? Hear nothing. We'll call the meeting a journ. Thank you.
