001Lake Station Community Schools provides students with activities that extend beyond traditional classroom learning with a strong focus on preparing students for their future careers our dedicated teachers from kindergarten to 12th grade are committed to fostering Proficiency in vital employability skills such as effective communication collaboration adaptability and perseverance [Music] K-5 students engage in experiential learning through our partnership with the Dunes Learning Center where students learn about the environment and experience canoeing on the river [Music] Edison student partner with the DNR to learn about Aquatic Life and participate in restocking fish in local waterways create garden beds on the school grounds and travel to the Argonne National Laboratory to work alongside scientists and Engineers to design and build projects Edison High School takes a proactive approach to ensure students are well informed about life After High School by collaborating with the Hammond Area Career Center for students vocational experiences Lake Station Community Schools has a College and Career coordinator who works with students to meet their goal of graduation and plans for post-graduation [Music] Edison High School provides Workforce experience through an annual job fair bringing in representatives from business and Manufacturing to bridge the gap in a diverse World between high school and life after graduation [Music] foreign [Music]
